The Art of OS/2 Warp Programming (book and
samples) This book is very thorough and a solid
introduction to the proficient C programmer who
wants to learn PM. If you are not a strong
programmer already, you may want to look at
other easier books before deciding whether or
not this book serves your needs, but if you

Release-to-Release Binary Compatibility in SOM
Article. (1995) (PDF and PS version). Authors:
Ira R. Forman, Michael H. Conner, Scott H.
Danforth, Larry K. Raper. Abstract SOM (IBMs
System Object Model) removes a major impediment
to reuse in Object-Oriented Programming by
facilitating the programming of
release-to-release binary compatible class
libraries. This is accomplished by supporting a
large number of compatibility preserving
transformations. Taken together these
transformations compose a discipline for
programming evolving class libraries.

Scheme v7.7.1. Scheme is a statically scoped and
properly tail-recursive dialect of the Lisp
programming language invented by Guy Lewis
Steele Jr. and Gerald Jay Sussman. It was
designed to have an exceptionally clear and
simple semantics and few different ways to
form expressions. A wide variety of programming
paradigms, including imperative, functional, and
message passing styles, find convenient expressi
in Scheme.

OS/2 Warp 4 and up include APIs for Unicode
support, referred to as the Universal Language
Support (ULS) functions. Unfortunately, they are
very poorly documented. The Warp 4 Toolkit
contains cursory INF reference documentation
(UNIAPI.INF) for ULS, but it is now severely
outdated. The 4.5x Toolkit includes updated
documentation in HTML format (UNIAPI.HTM), but
it is woefully incomplete, very poorly
formatted, and contains some blatant errors.
Consequently, I have embarked upon a major
revamping of the ULS documentation. My document
is based on IBM's UNIAPI.HTM from the 4.52
Toolkit, but with many improvements by Alex
Taylor.
