Ever since I installed the new drivers, my card works fine, but now I'm getting this error every time I boot up my computer: ACFG Error = C201FFFF It appears once during the initial system check, and twice after the PnP BIOS extensions load. I'm having no problems with the card. Does anyone have any idea why this is? ------------------------------ From: cholland@vnet.IBM.COM Date: Thu, 28 Dec 95 00:52:19 EST Subject: Thanks for all the help From: Chris Holland +61-2-354-7666 FA42 Project Assistant - Technical Operations Group ISSC Australia Subject: Thanks for all the help Thanks for all the suggestions about my MegaEm and CD-ROM audio problems. Unsetting the ULTRA16 environment variable solved my MegaEm problems. It seems that it should be set at all times except when using MegaEm. It turns out that the reason my CD-ROM audio (using an internal cable) didn't work was because the cable was wired wrong! After much experimentation I found that the cable I had was wired to give out GLGR (G = Ground, L = Left, R = Right), but the GUS expected RGLG. These may not be exactly right, but the point is that the L and R from my CD were going to the two grounds of the GUS. I don't know if I was just unlucky to have go a badly wired cable or if the standard for Creative IDE CDROMS is different form Mitsumi (I was plugging it into the Mitsumi slot on the GUS card). Thanks also for the info on the revisions of the cards. I am releived to know that 1.8 is not really out of date for a MAX. Have a happy new year. PS Sorry about the 80 char padded lines. That a mainframe for you :) Chris. Add the line midi1=ultmport.drv by hand, and it should work fine. I'm not so sure of the wording, but chances are that it's there commented out. HTH, Yossi. lioren1@weizmann.weizmann.ac.il / Visit . I think I have done it!!!!!!!! I seem to have found the GUS Midi bug in 11th Hour. The repair involves a file replacement for your "*.gus" file in your games directory. I have not had any one else try this yet but am looking for people to try it. The worst that it will do is not work. I know there is alot of you out there so If you want to try it, then email me and include the amount of ram on your GUS. I check my mail several times a day so I will send it right away as an attachment(its only 265 bytes). All that I ask is an immediate response back whether or not it worked for you.
