Introduction

The Pascal-network was setup to help everybody conceirned with Pascal.
Started on August 15th 1993 in Tilburg/The Netherlands, and aims to grow
to a world-wide organisation. At this moment the network expands all
accros the world, from Iceland to Australia, from the USA to Poland! The
network contains out of a message section, which is divided into several
area's, and a file-section, through which our members can distribute
pascal-software and tools, as long as these are shareware or public domain.

As PascalNt is only for pascal programming, but as the has go we have taken
some other language of program into us, while there is more and more who using
different computer systems and OS, those is while the net in first time starting
as a DOS programming there has come windows and OS/2 and then Linux system.
There is, however, an area called 'Assembler.Pas', as assembler-code is
possible within Pascal, and can't be missed by the professionals.

The common language in PascalNt is English. All messages must be written in
English, as everybody must be able to read what you're trying to say.

Becomming a Hub/Host

Hubs and Hosts must have some reasonable experiance in the working of
Fido(-related) message handling, and also know a bit of pascal.
When you want to become a hub, write a message to 115:115/0 telling so. If
you want to be a host, write to the same node-number, or write to your hub.
Hub's and Hosts must carry all available message area's available on
PascalNt.

Becomming a Node

Ask your nearest host if you can be connected to PascalNt. Everybody who
has any intrest in pascal is welcome (knowledge is not needed).

Becomming a Point

Ask your nearest node if you can be connected to PascalNt. Everybody who
has any intrest in pascal is welcome (knowledge is not needed either). In
general we assign points as Privat Node. In this way, it's very easy to
contact anybody you want to reach.

For all to join PascalNt and becoming a node in the net is the way of fill out
the little .sub file with infos and send it to bot you nearest host, RC and ZC and
the wait for a answer back of information about to connect for PascalNt.

From the 17th of November 2002 to New Year 2003 (1th Janury 2003 must all Pascal
nodes use the PascalNt domain as Pascal.fnt. This is a declaring for PascalNt,
where a node must and shall use ex. 115:xxxx/xx@Pascal.fnt.
and then from the new Year of 2003 will Pascal-Net font doamin change to be
PascalNt.fnt, where all nodes in PascalNt must do their setup for PascalNt
to be PascalNet.fnt ..

Moderating of the area's

Every area has it's own moderator. When we started up we had some 20 area's.
These area's are network-areas and are main-moderated by 115:115/0, but
those who want to take over the moderating are welcomed. These area-
moderators are appointed by de Main-Moderator, and can (when needed) be
replaced by the main-Moderator. Those areas will also include the area's for
the other pascal versions of Pascal Software.
When somebody wants to start a new area, he/she must ask 115:115/0 for
permission to do so. That area will be fully moderatored by the proposer.
When he/she decides to stop with it, the main-moderator can appoint a new
moderator for that area, but he must take into account the wishes of the
previous moderator, and when wishes differ, must publish why the different
choice. Every area has it's own arearules. The language in all area's must
be English, however, when national area's are made (like PAS.SYSOP.31) then the
national language is also allowed.

FileArea's

At current, PascalNt has a rather active file-distribution network. It
can carry any software tool for Pascal (Like PTGen), sources, and collections
of sources (like Swag). Anybody can use the PASADMIT file-area in order to
admit their own files for distribution in PascalNt.

Meetings

We aim to have yearly meeting for all hubs, hosts, nodes and their
co-sysops of one country. If a country is to big for one national meeting,
like the USA, then this may be done for smaller regions too.
The time and venue will be decided by the country's host, aswell as the way
the party will be organised. The meeting should always include a discussion
about any current problem on the net, or to express new idea's.

When a newer versions of this document occur, this document (2.0) will be
invalid.
