Version FINAL (1/1/02): The final update to be made to this FAQ.

Version 1.55 (8/14/01): Made a few corrections, thanks to SHPAZA@aol.com once
again!

Version 1.5 (7/28/01): Added an Enemies list, thanks to Hylianhero!

Version 1.45 (7/27/01): Made a correction in the Venus + Unicorn DSS combo,
and added a powered-up summons trick, thanks to SHPAZA@aol.com and his
seemingly endless contributions to this guide!

Version 1.4 (7/22/01): Added information on the Defense Armband, as well as a
trick to replay rooms in the Battle Arena, thanks to SHPAZA@aol.com once
again!

Version 1.35 (7/17/01): Added some tidbits of information here and there,
thanks to bb88@3xl.net.

Version 1.3 (7/7/01): Made a small correction regarding when the Trick/Scary
Candles appear, and corrected a mistyped e-mail address in the Credits
section.

Version 1.25 (7/5/01): This update includes information on the Mirror Armor
and Sage Armband equipment, and the Heart Ex and Mind Ex items, thanks to
SHPAZA@aol.com once again! Also, I added information on the Double Grips,
courtesy of angemoon@lineone.net!

Version 1.2 (7/1/01): Added information on the Dark Armor, Needle Armor, Sage

lucaeon@hotmail.com.

Version 1.1 (6/18/01): Added some information on the Mimic Candle and Lilith
enemies (see the Secrets section for more details). I added some information
on the Unicorn DSS card, as well as information on the Diamond Armor, thanks
to the guy that e-mailed me that little tidbit.

Version 1.05 (6/17/01): Added a few little things here and there. I'm still
missing some items and the Unicorn card, so that is yet to be added here.

Version 1.0 (6/16/01): The walkthrough is finally completed, as I have beaten
the game! There are still a few minor things here and there I have yet to
find, but when I do, they will be added to this guide as well.

Version 0.9 (6/15/01): I covered the whole Observation Tower area in the
walkthrough, and added several more little things here and there. However, the
actual walkthrough is leading through the Battle Arena, since I chose to do a
rundown of that before going to fight Dracula, so that area isn't complete
yet. With the next update, I hope to complete that and the rest of this guide!

Version 0.8 (6/14/01): The first version of this FAQ. It's not yet complete,
but it has alot of information so far for the time being.

-= 2. Introduction -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon is the newest game in the Konami-made series
for the Gameboy Advance. By all means, this game is EXCELLENT! The graphics
are great, the gameplay is wonderful, and the whole game is just great!
Although it doesn't make much use of the GBA's 3D capabilities, it's still a
great game, so I highly recommend you get it soon, if you haven't already!

-= 3. Story -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The year is 1830. In an ancient castle on the outskirts of the Austrian
empire, a demon lord that would unite the powers of darkness was being
resurrected at the hand of a field yearning for chaos.

At this demonic castle, Camilla, one of Dracula's minions, began the
incantation of a ritual to bring her lord Dracula back to life.

The vampire hunter Morris and his two apprentices, Nathan and Hugh, sensed an
abnormality in the balance of nature and rushed to prevent Dracula's unholy
reemergence.

"That unholy monster must never return!"

However, they arrived too late to prevent Dracula's return from his
confinement. Dracula used his magical powers to imprison Morris, and cast
Nathan and Hugh into a graveyard underneath the demonic castle.

Together the two began to search through the castle in order to vanquish
Dracula and to rescue their master.

Introduction
------------

The game opens up, telling the story of Dracula, to give you some background
information on the game. A scene opens up where a girl by the name of Camilla
awakens Dracula. Then, three men run in: Hugh Baldwin, Nathan Graves (the
character you control), and Morris Baldwin, their teacher. Dracula will create
a hole, sending Nathan and Hugh down below to the Catacomb, leaving the Master
to deal with Dracula. When Nathan and Hugh land, they decide to go and find
the Master. Hugh will run off, giving you control of Nathan. This is where the
actual game will begin. Start by going right and dropping into the next area.
Continue by dropping down the ledges throughout this area, defeating the
Skeleton Bombers along the way to gain some experience and maybe even the
Salamander DSS Card. When you get to the bottom, head right to enter the
Catacomb area.

Catacomb
--------

When you enter this area, head right and defeat some more Skeleton Bombers,
and the Bats and Bone Heads on the ceiling up ahead. Go down the decline and
continue left. Defeat more enemies, including the giant Poison Worm group on
the ceiling. Try not to touch them, as you'll be poisoned if you do. Slide
through whatever worms are on the ground (Down + A), then continue left and
jump to the upper ledge. Go left and into that room, then press Up when
standing under the giant orb, and you'll recover your health and save your
game. Leave the room and go right, defeating the enemies until you gain an
experience level. You may also gain the Mercury DSS Card by beating the Bone
Head enemies. If you get the two DSS Cards I mentioned above, you'll have your
first card combo to use (check out the DSS section later in this guide for
more details). Continue left and down through this area, then hit the torch on
the wall to get a Knife. Use it by holding Up while pressing B; be careful as
you lose a Heart each time you throw a Knife. Anyway, keep going right into
the next room.

Here, go right and you'll encounter a tough flying enemy, the Earth Demon.
Jump up and attack it with your whip while jumping over its earthquake
attacks. Repeat that pattern until you beat it, then continue all the way
right to find the Dash Boots (use them by pressing Left or Right twice). Now,
go back left a little and jump onto the ledge in the air. Defeat the Bats and
get to the second ledge, then dash and jump to the right. Next, follow the
path right and defeat the Bats, then go through the door into the next room.
Here, go right and defeat the Skeletons, Zombies, and Poison Worms along the
way. You may also gain another level or so by fighting all these creatures, so
that's a good thing for you. Pick up any items dropped (for me, I received
Cotton Clothes and a Magic Gauntlet by fighting these enemies), and equip
them, then keep going right all the way to the following room. In this room,
go right and drop down to the ground, then run right to the next area. Keep on
going right and defeat the Earth Demon you encounter. After you beat it, go
right and slide through the low passage and collect the Heart Max Increase.

Now, slide back out of this room and head all the way left to the next room.
Go left and jump up to the ledge in the air. Defeat the Skeleton Spear enemies
standing around, and collect any items they drop as well. Dash and jump to
another couple of ledges, then get to a platform on the left side of the room
(there's a Skeleton Spear enemy standing on it). Defeat the enemy and hit the
wall with your whip to reveal a hidden room. Go through it and defeat the
Skeleton Bombers, then grab the MP Max Increase. Now, leave this room and head
right, then dash and jump to the ledge in the air. Get across to the ledge
directly opposite of the room you just came from. Defeat the Skeleton Spear
there and continue into another room. Kill the Bats and Skeleton Bombers here
and go downward, then slide to the right under the low passage. Make your way
up through this room, and collect the very much needed HP Max Increase at the
top. Now, go back down and slide through the passage, then get up and out of
this room. Go left and dash and jump up a few more floating ledges, then jump
to another ledge connected to the right wall. Go right on it and into the next
room, where you can recover and save your game. After you're done there, leave
the room and continue all the way to the top of this room by dashing and
jumping from platform to platform (don't jump through the hole in the ceiling
just yet). Jump to the left ledge and go left into that room. There, defeat
the endless numbers of Spirits and grab the MP Max Increase bottle.

Now, leave this room and jump up through the ceiling into another room. Hold
right as you jump through so you land on the ledge upon entering the room. In
this room, go all the way right and defeat the various enemies you come
across. Collect the MP Max Increase bottle at the end, then go back to the
left and defeat the Mudman and Spirit enemies there. Keep going all the way to
the left and dash jump over the pit, then continue left. Defeat the Skeleton
Bombers and go up the small incline, then jump onto the floating ledge. Defeat
another enemy and jump to the next ledge, then slide through the small passage
into the next room. Here, get to the left side of the room and drop down the
platforms to make your way towards the bottom of the area. Be sure to destroy
the torches on the walls along the left side of the room, as one of them
contains an Axe for you to use in place of the Knives you had from earlier.
When you get to the very bottom ledge on the left side of the room, go left
and into the next room. Defeat the Skeleton Spear, then grab the HP Max
Increase bottle there. Leave the room, then get across to the other side of
this large room, and then continue into another room. There, jump onto the
higher platform and slide under the wall, then head right to the next room.

Here, get across the room and enter the room where you can save your game (use
the map if you need help finding this room; it's the red room on the map).
Now, leave this room after saving, then get to the top of this room and jump
through the ceiling into the following room. Land on the ledge to the right,
and defeat the Skeleton Bomber there. Go right and jump onto the higher ledge,
then jump up the ledges to the top ledge. Now, continue left and defeat more
enemies, then continue all the way to the next room. In this room, go left and
down and defeat the Mudman enemies along the way. Defeat the Skeleton enemies
as you make your way to the left, then jump up the ledges to the higher ledge
at the top. From there, dash and jump to the left and get to the room in the
upper-left part of this room. Save your game if needed, then leave the room
and continue downward and left into the following room. Here, go down and land
on the ledge directly below the entrance to this room. Go right and enter
another room, then defeat the Skeleton Bomber and grab the Hearts Max Increase
sitting there. Now, exit this room and continue downward through this room
while defeating the Gremlins flying around. When you reach the bottom, go left
and jump to the higher platform, then left into the next room.

In this room, go left and defeat the Mummies and Coffins along the way. The
Mummies will keep coming until you destroy the floating Coffins, so keep that
in mind when dealing with these creatures. Go all the way to the left and
destroy the torch in the air to get some Holy Water to replace the Axe. Since
you can't go any further in here for now, head all the way right and back to
the previous room. Here, start going upward along the ledges while defeating
the Gremlins and Skeletons along the way there. Get onto the first ledge to
the left about halfway up, and enter that room. Defeat the Hoppers and take
the MP Max Increase bottle at the end, then go back right out of this room.
Keep on going upward and through the door at the top to reach the room where
you'll fight a boss. Go left and you'll meet Cerberus, which is the first boss
in the game you'll fight. Read the Bosses section for help on defeating this
creature. After you beat it, go left and into the next room. Go left and
collect the Double Magic Item, which allows you to make 2 consecutive jumps
before landing.

Now, go back right to the previous room and continue all the way to the
following room. Drop down through this room to the bottom, then go left into
another room. Go all the way left through here while defeating the Mummies and
Coffins along the way. At the end, double jump to the higher ledges, and
continue doing that to reach the top. There, jump up and hit the right wall
with your whip to reveal a hidden room. Enter that room and defeat the Coffin
and Mummies, then grab the HP Max Increase bottle. Now, leave this room and
double jump to the left to the top ledge, then go through the door to enter
the Abyss Stairway.

Abyss Stairway
--------------

When you enter this new area, drop downward into the next area. There, go left
and jump across to the other side, then go back up to the Abyss Stairway on
the other side of the middle wall. Go left and start jumping up the floating
ledges. After you get onto the second middle platform, double jump to the
right and hit the wall with your whip to reveal a hidden room. Enter that
room, defeat the Slime and Axe Armor enemies, then grab the MP Max Increase
bottle and leave the room. Now, continue heading upward until you get to the
ledge on the right with an Axe Armor enemy on it. When you get there, defeat
the enemy and continue into the next room. Here, go right and onto the first
floating platform. Drop through it and land on the middle one below. Jump left
onto the smaller ledge, and enter the room there. Defeat the Skeleton and take
the HP Max Increase, then leave this room. Now, drop all the way down to the
next area and jump left to the other side. Then, make your way all the way up
to the top of the left half of this room, but instead of going right on the
ledge with the Axe Armor, continue upward to the following room. In this room,
double jump your way up the ledges and defeat the Bone Heads along the way.
Ignore the first door to the right and jump onto the floating gray block, then
quickly jump to the higher ledge, as the gray block will crumble underneath
you. Keep going up and enter the next room to the right, where you can recover
and save your game.

After you save, leave that room and continue your journey upward through this
room. Enter the next room to the right since you can't go higher for now.
Here, repeat what you've been doing and head upward here while defeating the
Skeletons and Gremlins along the way. Keep going up until the path leads up
and to the right. Don't go through the door it leads to; instead continue onto
the next higher ledge. Go left and hit the wall with your whip to reveal a
hidden room. Enter it and defeat the Skeleton Soldier, then take the Hearts
Max Increase. Leave the room and continue upward all the way until you reach
the Audience Room.

Audience Room
-------------

When you enter this area, go up and right, then jump to the higher ledge to
the left. Jump up the gray platforms quickly to reach the top, then go left
and defeat an Axe Armor enemy before continuing into the next room. In the
next room, head downward while defeating the Skeletons along the way. When
you're able to go left, take the path left and up some more ledges. When you
get to the very top ledge in the left corner of this room, whip the wall to
find a hidden area. Enter that room and grab the Hearts Max Increase item
after defeating the Skeleton Soldier in your way, then leave the room.
Continue to the right and defeat some more Skeletons, then go through the door
into the next room. Here, go right and defeat some Axe Armors and Skeleton
Soldiers along the way. When the path splits, take the middle path directly
right into the next room. You can recover and save your game here if you like.

After you save/recover, leave that room and jump upward to the higher ledge.
Get up to the next higher ledge, then jump towards the wall and whip it to
reveal another hidden area. Enter that room and defeat the enemy, then take
the MP Max Increase bottle. Now, exit that room and continue right to the
following room. There, follow the path down and right while defeating the
Skeleton Soldiers along the way. There's a pit at the end you can jump across
if you want, so get a good dashing start, then double jump across. You'll most
likely make it across in one shot (if you happen to fall, follow the path
southwest to the following room, which you'll be more familiar with). From
there, go right into the next room. Here, defeat the Axe Armor and grab the HP
Max Increase bottle, then leave the room. Head left, but this time drop into
the pit and land below. Go right and pick up the Hearts Max Increase item,
then head back to the left. Make your way down the ledges to the bottom, while
defeating the Skeleton enemies along the way down. When you get to the bottom,
go left a bit and watch out for the Electric Skeleton, among others, then
continue into the next room. Jump up a few ledges to get to the middle of the
room, then enter the room to the right and save your game again if you feel
like it. Otherwise, continue to the very top of the room and head right to the
next room.

This time, go right and jump up to the higher platform. Follow the path up and
defeat the enemies around, then go left and jump to the next ledge. Continue
up through this room until you reach the very end, then jump up to the next
area, which is the Outer Wall.

Outer Wall
----------

In this area, go right and double jump onto the first column. Defeat the
Skeleton and Will O' Wisp enemies around, then continue jumping across the
columns until you reach the last one (there are four altogether in this room).
When you reach the last one, jump off the right side of it and land on the
ground below. From there, go right almost to the wall (defeat any enemies
around before doing this) and hold B to spin your whip. You'll reveal a hidden
room in the ground. Drop into that room and go right, defeat the Axe Armor and
Skeleton, then take the Hearts Max Increase. Now, go back left and up out of
this room. Back outside, head all the way to the left, defeating the various
Skeletons along the way. When you can't go any further, double jump up to the
first column, defeat the enemies up there, then jump across them to get back
across the room. Make your way to the ledge at the end, then continue right
into the next area.

Here, jump across some more columns and defeat the enemies you encounter.
After you get onto the highest column where the Brain Floats are right above
you, use the Mercury/Serpent DSS combo to freeze the floating enemies with
your whip. Use the frozen enemies as steps to make your way upward to a really
high place (NOT the first ledge to the left; keep going straight up). When you
get there, double jump up to the top ledge and go right, defeating the
Skeletons there. Go right and drop down a couple ledges, then continue to the
right. Double jump over a column after beating the enemy atop it, then take
the HP Max Increase bottle sitting there. Now, go back over and up to the
highest platform again. Go left and drop down the pit all the way down to the
ground again. After you land, get back onto one of the columns there and jump
to the right across them all. At the end, hit the torch to get the Knife if
you want, otherwise drop into the pit to get back to the Audience Room.

Audience Room
-------------

Back inside, head down and right, then drop down to the lower ledge. Go left
and drop down to an even lower place, then dash and double jump to the left to
get onto another high platform. Beat the enemies there and head up and left
into the next room, which is the first warp room you'll encounter. These are
very important later on, so it's good to understand how to use them. Enter the
room and step in the middle of it, then press Up to warp elsewhere (open warp
rooms are marked as yellow rooms on the map screen). Anyway, use this warp to
get to another one in the Audience Room. At the other end, go right to the
next room. Jump on the switch there to make the barrier to the right explode,
allowing you to pass. For now, go back into the previous room and warp back to
the other warp room. Once there, leave the room and go right, then drop to the
lower area. Go right and double jump to the higher ledge, then continue all
the way to the right. When you can either jump to another ledge or go down,
jump to that ledge and continue into the next room. Here, just grab the MP Max
Increase bottle, then leave. Go left and down, then double jump to the right
to reach another room. Recover your health and save your game in that room,
then exit.

In this room, head all the way to the far left end of the room, defeating the
Axe Armor and Devil Tower enemies along the way. At the end, pick up another
MP Max Increase bottle. Now, head all the way to the right to where you
started, then continue to the right to another room. In this room, drop down
to the ledge below you, then jump to the left wall. When you land on the next
platform, whip the wall to find another hidden room. Go in there and defeat
the Devil Towers, then pick up yet another MP Max Increase bottle. Go back to
the right and out of this room, then continue dropping down the ledges to the
bottom of the area. There, go right and defeat the enemies that fall on you
from above. Then, double jump up to the higher platform and continue getting
up to the next couple of platforms as well. Make your way up and right to find
a Hearts Max Increase item. Now, drop back down and head all the way left into
the next room. There, go all the way to the left, defeating the Devil Towers
and Axe Armors along the way. When you reach the left wall, jump and whip it
to reveal a hidden room. Enter that room and defeat the Axe Armor to get the
HP Max Increase bottle. Then, leave this room.

Back in the previous room, double jump up the ledges nearby and continue to
the left there all the way to the next room. In this room, go left and down to
the bottom of the room, then head right into the next room, which is a save
room. Save and recover here, then leave the room. Go left and defeat the
enemies, then jump back to the higher ledges. When you get to the last high
ledge, quickly jump from platform to platform before they crumble beneath you.
After you get to the high ledge to the left, double jump to the higher one.
Defeat the Devil Towers and jump to another platform, then go right and
destroy the torch on the wall to get the Axe subweapon. Now, go left and drop
down to the lower ledge. From there, go down and left into the next room. Go
left and you'll meet the Necromancer. He'll tell you that the Master is being
held captive, then he'll fight you. Read the Bosses section for help on
defeating this boss. After you win, go left into the next room, where you'll
find the Tackle Magic Item (use by pressing R while moving forward).

Now, leave this room and continue out of the boss's room as well. Here, go
right and drop all the way down to the very bottom of this large room. From
there, jump onto the ledge and go left and into a new room. Go left and defeat
the enemies, then use your new Tackle ability to destroy the cracked block in
your way. Continue left through this room, defeating the enemies and tackling
through the blocks until you reach the end, then continue into the next room.
Double jump up from platform to platform, then head to the left through this
room. Defeat the Axe Armors and Slimes, then go through the door into the
following room. In that room, head downward through the room until you reach
the first path heading to the left. Take that path left and up a couple of
ledges, then go left and through the door into another area. Here, go left and
tackle the block, then continue through the room. Defeat the Skeleton Knight
and Zombie Thief enemies, as they sometimes drop items you can make use of.
Make your way all the way left through this room while defeating the enemies
along the way. Take the path up and right at the end, all the way until you
enter the Machine Tower.

Machine Tower
-------------

In this new area, go left and defeat the Fox Archers shooting at you. Go all
the way to the left and jump onto the moving platform when it comes down
towards you. Ride it to its highest point, then double jump from ledge to
ledge all the way to the top, while defeating the enemies along the way. At
the top, collect the Hearts Max Increase item. From there, drop down to the
ledge below you and Tackle the block to get through. Drop down to a lower
ledge, then jump across the moving platforms to the ledge at the other side.
Go down and right into that room, where you can save your game and recover
your HP and MP. After that, go back to the previous room and jump onto the
moving platforms to the left. Double jump across to the ledge at the other
side, then wait for the next moving platform above you to come down. Ride it
upward, then jump onto the ledge to the right. Hit the torch there and you'll
get the Stopwatch subweapon, which you can use to freeze any enemies for 10
seconds, at the cost of 20 Hearts per use. Watch out for the Medusa Heads
floating around here, as they can turn you into stone with one hit (break free
by pressing Left and Right repeatedly), and go right into another room. Here,
go right and drop down to the very bottom of the area, where you'll find a HP
Max Increase bottle.

After that, jump up the moving platforms to the very top of the room, then go
left and defeat the enemies. Tackle through the block and continue left to the
next room. Dash and double jump to the moving platform to the left, then use
it to reach the next couple of moving platforms above you. Continue upward as
you jump from platform to platform until you reach the top. Jump onto the left
ledge at the top and defeat the Fox Archer, then whip the wall to reveal a
hidden room. Enter it and take the MP Max Increase bottle inside. Defeat the
Heat Shade enemy in there, and it'll possibly drop the Jupiter DSS Card (if
not, just keep leaving/reentering the room until you get it). This creature
also gives lots of experience, so it's good practice for you! Anyway, after
you do that, leave the room and get to the right ledge with help from the
moving platform in the middle. From there, go up and double jump into the next
area. Here, jump up to the higher area and head left onto a moving platform.
Defeat the Heat Shade, then keep going and defeat another one. Get onto the
next moving platform, and jump to the one going up and down when it gets close
enough to you. Ride it upward, then jump onto the left-to-right moving
platform. Jump to the left ledge and enter that room to save your game and
recover if needed. Then, leave the room and get onto the next moving platform
going upward. Double jump up to the left ledge before you get there, being
careful not to hit the electricity on the ceiling. Defeat the Fox Archer there
and continue up and right through this room.

Jump onto another moving platform to the right and watch out for the flying
Medusa Heads. Get to the ledge at the far right side of the room, then from
there, slide through the passage and into the next room. Here, drop down to
the ground and defeat the Thunder Demon that immediately shows up. Then, jump
to the right and across to another ledge, and defeat the Skeleton there. Get
to the wall in the corner and whip it to find a hidden room. Enter that room
and defeat the Fox Archer, then take the HP Max Increase bottle. Now, leave
the room and continue downward through this large room. Defeat the enemies
along the way until you reach the bottom, then defeat another Thunder Demon.
Next, get onto the moving platform and go left and up across them. When you
reach the highest ledge, go left into another room. Defeat the Stone Armor
there and take the HP Max Increase bottle there too. You can get the
Cockatrice DSS card from this enemy, so keep leaving/entering the room and
fighting the Stone Armor until you get it (another great way to build
experience, too). After that, leave the room and jump down the moving
platforms to the lower area. Then, go left and slide into another room.

Back in this room, make your way all the way left and up the moving platforms
to the larger section of the room. Once there, get to the top-left area of the
room by jumping from platform to platform. When riding the top-left platform
to the left, squat down to avoid the electric shock on the ceiling. At the
end, get on the ledge and whip the wall to reveal a hidden room. Enter that
room and go all the way to the bottom, defeat an Earth Armor, then get the
Hearts Max Increase item. Now, get all the way up and out of this room, then
drop down to a lower ledge. Go right and onto the moving platforms again, but
this time make your way to the upper-right area of this room. From there, go
right and into the next room. Go right and drop down to the lower area, defeat
the enemies there, then continue to the right and tackle the block in the way.
Defeat the Fox Archer at the other side, then double jump to the upper ledge
and enter the room to the right. Defeat the Stone Armor and grab the MP Max
Increase there, then exit the room.

Go left and up the path, then double jump to the higher ledge. Tackle the
block to the right and jump to another ledge. Jump up and to the left and
tackle the block there, then go left and defeat the Heat Shade. Jump up and go
left, then down and left into another room. Head all the way left, defeating
the Stone Armors and Fox Archers along the way. Pick up the Hearts Max
Increase item at the end, then go back right to the previous room. Go right
and drop down to the bottom of the room, then defeat the enemies and go to the
right. Tackle the first block and go up a couple ledges and tackle the next
block you come to. From there, jump to the next couple ledges and onto a block
that's halfway into the wall to the left. Instead of tackling it this time
around, jump on it and double jump to the higher ledge. Defeat the Heat Shade
and jump onto the block on the ledge you're on, and double jump to another
ledge above you. Make your way to the left and into the next room. In this
long room, go all the way to the left while defeating the enemies you come
across, especially the Earth Armor enemies. When the path splits, take the
lower path into the next room, where you can save and recover.

After you finish saving/recovering, leave the save room and take the upper
path into the following room. Make your way up through this room while
defeating the enemies along the way. At the top, go right to the wall, then
jump and whip it to find a hidden room. Enter it to get a MP Max Increase
bottle, and hit the torch to get the Cross subweapon to replace whatever you
have currently. Then, leave the room and continue down and right while
defeating the Fox Archers and Heat Shades along the way. At the end, go
through the large blue door into the next room. Go right and you'll meet the
Iron Golem, which is the boss of this area. Read the Bosses section for help
on defeating it. After you win, Hugh Baldwin will run in and talk for a
moment, then he'll run off again. After he leaves, continue right into the
next room and collect the Kick Boots Magic Item at the end of the path. Jump
onto a wall and press R to kick off of it, so you can reach higher areas.

Now, go back through the past couple of rooms to the room before the boss one.
Fight the enemies here and go left, then tackle the block and drop down to the
next area. Go down and left into the save room and save your game, then leave
that room. Head all the way right through this room, defeating the enemies
along the way. At the end, go through the door into the next room. Here, go
right and defeat the Heat Shade and Fox Archer enemies there. Go right and
down a couple ledges, then go right through the door you passed earlier to
enter the Audience Room.

Audience Room
-------------

In this area, go right and use the new Kick Boots to jump up to the higher
area. Then, go left, up, and right, and defeat the Were-Wolf and Hyena enemies
around. Continue all the way to the right, then down into the next area. Keep
dropping down the ledges while defeating the Gargoyles until you reach the
bottom, then continue to the following room. There, keep going down to the
more familiar area, then go left into the next room (if you're low on health,
head right first and enter the save room). When you enter the next room, go
left and down through this room as well, defeating the Skeletons along the
way. At the bottom, go right, then up some ledges and into another room. Here,
go right and drop all the way down and into the Abyss Stairway.

Abyss Stairway
--------------

In this area, go down some more ledges and make your way to the right side of
the room. Instead of going through the door you see, kick up the wall to move
upward, where you'll find another door. Go through it and you'll enter the
Eternal Corridor.

Eternal Corridor
----------------

When you enter this area, head to the right and defeat the Gorgon (giant bull
enemy) and the Ectoplasms flying around. Make your way all the way right
through this room while defeating those two enemies until you enter the next
room. Here, go right and fight the Flame Demon flying around. You'll gain LOTS
of experience for beating it, so try and stay in good shape and defeat it!
After that, continue to the right and defeat some more Skeleton Knights before
heading into the following room. Here, defeat the Were-bears and Beast Demons
you encounter as you get through this room. Defeat them all and continue into
the next room. In this next room, get through it and defeat the Evil Hands and
another Flame Demon flying around. Head all the way right into the following
room, which will be much safer than the previous bunch of them. Go right and
drop down to the lower area, then head right and whip the wall to reveal a
hidden room. Enter that room and defeat the Bone Towers, then grab the Hearts
Max Increase item. Leave the room and go left, then kick jump the walls to get
back up again. Then, go right and defeat the enemies you come across until you
reach a split in the path. Take the path going downward for now, and enter the
room to the right and you'll uncover a new warp point for later.

Anyway, ignore it for now and continue downward through the main room while
defeating the Bone Towers and then the Ghouls along the way. At the bottom, go
to the left wall and double jump, then whip the wall to reveal another hidden
room. Enter it and defeat the Gorgon, then take the HP Max Increase and leave
the room. Continue upward by double jumping and kick jumping the wall, while
defeating the Skeleton Boomerangs along the way. When you reach the top, take
the Hearts Max Increase item there. Now, head back down the ledges to the
bottom, then go right and defeat some Ghouls. Go right and up a bunch of
ledges towards the top of the room again, then when you get to the top, go
through the right door to enter the Chapel Tower.

Chapel Tower
------------

When you enter this area, go right and defeat the Skeleton Knights and Flame
Armors (the Flame Armor is another new enemy here, but it isn't as tough as
the other new ones you saw in the Eternal Corridor). Continue to the right and
defeat those two types of enemies all the way through. When you see a hole in
the ceiling which leads to another room, jump up it to reach the next room.
Watch out for the Bloody Sword enemy that attacks you shortly after arriving
in that room. Take the path to the right and into the next room, where you can
save and recover at this point. After you do that, leave the room and go left
and double jump to the higher ledge. Go left and jump to the next one, then go
up the stairs and jump to the next ledge above you. Go right and defeat the
Bloody Swords and Flame Armor, then continue right and double jump to the next
ledge. Dash and double jump left to another ledge, then defeat more enemies
there. Go left and up the steps, then whip the wall and enter the hidden room.
Defeat the Hyena inside and take the MP Max Increase bottle, then leave the
room.

Now, go right and jump to the next ledge. Defeat the enemies there as you head
to the right, then double jump to the next couple of ledges to reach the top
of the room. Go all the way to the left and into the next room. Here, go left
and down, defeating the Ghouls coming out of the ground. At the far left, use
the Mercury/Serpent DSS combo and freeze the Brain Floats. Then, jump on them
to get up through the room. Double jump from the last one to the next ledge.
Continue by kicking against the wall all the way to the top, where you'll find
a Hearts Max Increase. Take it, then go all the way down to the ground again.
There, go right towards the exit of this room, but jump up and kick jump to
the higher ledge. Continue doing that, while stopping to defeat the enemies on
the ledges. At the top, go left and defeat another Beast Demon, then take the
MP Max Increase bottle sitting behind it. Now, head back right and drop down
the pits to the very bottom, then go right out of this room. Go right and up
the steps, then double jump up to the following room.

In this room, go right and defeat another Bloody Sword, then double jump to
the next ledge and left to another one. Go left and defeat the Bloody Swords
(you can get the Mars DSS Card from these swords, if you haven't already) and
Marionettes (watch out, the Marionettes can curse you, disabling your whip and
subweapon use for a period of time). Continue up onto the next ledge, then
double jump straight up and kick up the wall to reach the otherwise
unreachable ledge. Whip the wall and enter the hidden room, then defeat the
Bloody Sword and get the MP Max Increase bottle. Leave, then continue down to
the lower ledge and head right along it, then jump to the following one at the
end of the path. Double jump up the next bunch of ledges to reach the top,
then go left and defeat more enemies. Go left into the next room and save your
game and recover at this time. After that, leave the room and jump to the
higher ledge. Go right and up the steps to the end, then jump into the next
room.

In this room, go left and defeat the Thunder Demon that flies down to attack.
After that, continue into the next room. Go left and defeat the Beast Demons
and Were-panthers that attack you along the way. You can also get the
Thunderbird DSS Card from the Were-panthers if you're lucky, too. Continue to
the left until you reach the end, then jump up to the higher area of the room.
From there, head right and defeat more enemies, then continue to the next
room. Here, go right and double jump over the pit and defeat the Thunder Demon
that appears. Then, go into the following room. Here, use the Mercury/Serpent
DSS combo and freeze the Bloody Swords. Use them to reach the higher ledge,
then freeze the Brain Floats to make your way to the top of this room. At the
top, take the MP Max Increase item there. Now, drop down all the way to the
bottom and head left out of this room. Go left and defeat the Thunder Demon,
then jump the pit and go left a little more. Jump up to the higher ledge and
into another room.

Here, go right and up a few ledges, defeating the rather simple enemies along
the way. After going up the few ledges there, go to the right wall and kick up
the wall to reach the higher area. On the way up, whip the right wall to
reveal a hidden room. Jump into that room somehow and defeat the Gorgon, then
grab the HP Max Increase item. Leave that room and double jump up and to the
left onto the higher ledge. Go left and kick up another wall to reach the top
of the room. Now, go left and down the ledges, defeating the enemies in the
way. Continue down and left, then down some more ledges, until you reach the
end. Then, kick jump up the walls to the top of the room. From there, go left
and down several more ledges and defeat the enemies there too. Continue along
the path until you reach the next room. Here, continue down and left until you
reach the bottom-left corner of the room. At that point, double jump and kick
up the walls while defeating the Marionettes along the way until you reach the
top, where you can take a Hearts Max Increase.

After that, drop down to the bottom again and head right and up the hill.
Double jump onto the higher ledge near the top, then double jump from ledge to
ledge while defeating the enemies along the way up. Continue up the ledges
until you reach the very top of the room, then go left and defeat yet some
more Marionettes and Bloody Swords. When the path splits, take the path
directly to the left and into the next room. Here, head all the way to the
left while defeating the various enemies along the way. When you reach the
wall, whip it to find another hidden room. Enter it and defeat the Were-bear
and Hyena, then take the HP Max Increase bottle. Leave that room, then kick up
the wall to get to the higher area. Once there, jump to the left ledge and
enter that room, where you can recover and save your game again.

After saving, leave that room and head right, jumping across all the pits
along the way. Continue right into the following room. Here, go right and open
the boss door, and you'll see Hugh run out. Talk to him and he'll give you a
bad attitude like before, then you'll walk into the boss's room. Read the
Bosses section for help on defeating Adramelech, the boss of this area. After
you defeat it, go right and double jump to the higher ledge and into the next
room. There, jump on the switch to destroy the statue in your way. Doing so
will also destroy all similar statues throughout the game. After that, go
right into the next room and grab the MP Max Increase bottle. Leave that room
and continue left through the next few rooms all the way to the save room
again. Save and recover from the boss battle there, then leave the room when
you're ready.

Now, head right and over the pits, then drop down the last pit and continue
out to the next room. There, go right and down the ledges while defeating the
enemies along the way. When you get to the bottom of the room, go right and up
a couple ledges, then right into the following room. Go up several ledges and
defeat the enemies there, then go right and drop all the way down to the
platform below. From there, go right and down, then left and down into the
next room. Go down and right, then drop down to the lower area of the room.
Continue right some more to get to the next room. Continue downward through
the next couple rooms full of ledges and enemies, all the way until you reach
the very bottom room, which is a long room going left and right. There, go
left and defeat the Thunder Armors, then continue left to reach the Eternal
Corridor again.

Eternal Corridor
----------------

When you enter this area, go all the way left and into the following room.
Head left through this long room, defeating the Gorgons and Beast Demons along
the way. Near the end, drop down the pit and go left into the next room.
Continue left and you'll enter the Underground Gallery area.

Underground Gallery
-------------------

Upon entering this new area, head left and defeat several Imps along the way.
Go left and down the ledges to find a switch. Jump on it to make a moving
platform appear on the track below. Now, quickly get down to the bottom of the
room and go right, then double jump to the higher ledge. Get on the moving
platform when it comes by and ride it to the right, defeating the Brain Floats
along the way. When you get to the end, slide through the passage and get the
Hearts Max Increase item. After that, slide back out of that area and go all
the way left to the next room. Here, go left and defeat the flying Harpy, then
continue left through this room and jump to the higher ledges when necessary.
Defeat the Imps and another Harpy, then keep going all the way left to reach
the next room. In this room, defeat the Specters and jump up the crumbling
platforms to reach the top of the room. Then, go right into the next room,
where you can save your game and recover. After that, leave the save room.

Drop down to the very bottom of this room, then take the door to the right
into the following room. Go right and defeat the Death Mantis and King Moth,
then tackle through the cracked block in your way. Continue right and defeat
some more enemies, then go through the door into another room. There, jump
across and into the next room. Go right and defeat another Death Mantis and a
Harpy, then tackle through another block. Continue to the right, defeating the
next bunch of enemies along the way, then head into the next room. Go right
and defeat the Thunder Armor, then take the MP Max Increase bottle and leave
the room. Head all the way left through this room like before, then when you
get to the following room, drop down to the lower area and head right to the
next room. Go right through this room, defeating the Killer Bees and Evil
Hands along the way. Slide under the low passage when you get there, and
continue right and defeat the Man Eater, along with more Killer Bees. Keep
going right all the way through here until you reach the room at the end.
Defeat the Poison Armor, then take the HP Max Increase bottle.

Now, leave this room and make your way back through the previous room, with
all the annoying Killer Bees around. When you get through it and end up in the
next room, go directly across and through the door into another new room.
Here, make your way left through here while defeating the Man Eaters and
Killer Bees along the way. When you reach the end, go left into the next room.
Here, go left and drop down to the lower area, then go left and defeat the
Myconid enemies. Go left and double jump up to the higher ledge, then whip the
wall and enter the hidden room. Defeat the Death Mantis inside and collect the
Hearts Max Increase item, then leave that room. Go right and double jump to
the higher ledge, then continue going up to another one. Jump to the left and
go through the door into the next room. As soon as you enter this room, the
long bridge in front of you starts to crumble, so jump on and run across to
the end. At the end, slide under the wall and whip the left wall, then
continue into the next room. Here, go left and run across another crumbling
bridge, then slide under the wall at the end. From there, drop down a couple
ledges and go right to get a MP Max Increase bottle.

Now, jump up to the higher ledge and slide under the wall. From there, double
jump up a few ledges and go right to the previous room. Go right and slide
under the wall, then drop to the lower area when the bridge crumbles. Defeat
the Myconids, then go right and jump up to the higher ledge. Then, continue to
the next room. Here, go right and jump to the ledge, then defeat the Poison
Armor enemies. Continue right and into the next room straight ahead. In this
room, head upward by jumping from ledge to ledge. Enter the first room to the
left, where you can save and recover. After you do that, leave the room and
continue upward to the very top of the room you're in. Go through the door to
the left to reach the next room. Go left and through the boss door, then get
ready to fight another boss creature, the two Dragon Zombies! Read the Bosses
section for help on defeating these creatures. After you win, jump up the
ledges and go left into the next room. There, take the Heavy Ring Magic Item,
which lets you push away blocks you couldn't previously move. Now, leave the
room and continue right out of the boss's room as well. Continue right to the
following room, then drop down to the lower ledge and enter the first room to
the left. You can save and recover at this point, too.

After you save, leave the save room and drop down through the next room to the
very bottom, then go left and into another room. Jump to the left ledge and
make your way to the other side of the room while defeating the 2 Poison
Armors on the platform. When you get to the other side, go through the door to
reach the next room. When you enter the next room, quickly jump to the left
and run across the crumbling bridge and slide under the wall at the end. From
there, kick up the walls to go all the way up, then left, being careful of the
Poison Armor at the top. Defeat it and continue left, then push the block out
of your way and continue to the Abyss Stairway.

Abyss Stairway
--------------

When you enter this area, go left and into the following room. There, head
left and jump to the next ledge, then continue left while defeating the
enemies along the way. Continue jumping up the ledges to reach the top, then
jump up the hole at the top to enter the Audience Room.

Audience Room
-------------

Upon enter this place again, go up the path and jump up to the next ledge and
up the 3 crumbling platforms to the top. Then, jump to the left and continue
all the way while defeating the Succubus enemies. After that, go into the next
room. Here, drop down a few ledges until you're able to go left. At that
point, go left and through the door to enter Triumph Hallway.

Triumph Hallway
---------------

When you enter this area, head left while defeating all the simple enemies
around here. When you reach the wall, jump onto the left ledge and whip the
wall to find a hidden room. Enter it, then defeat the Fleaman enemies and grab
the HP Max Increase bottle. Now, leave the room and continue going down
through this room. When you reach the bottom, head to the right and push the
block out of your way. Drop down the pit to the right to enter the Underground
Warehouse.

Underground Warehouse
---------------------

When you enter this new area, drop straight down to the bottom of the room.
Defeat the Hipogriff flying around, then go right into the next room. Defeat
the Wights, the Fox Hunter, and then the Arch Demon. After you beat it, push
the block to the right until it drops down to the ground, then continue right
and take the MP Max Increase bottle after beating another Fox Hunter. After
you get it, go all the way to the left to the previous room. There, go left
and down the hill, then push the block to the right and use it to reach the
higher ledge. From there, go left into the next room. Here, take the bottom
path and tackle the cracked block, allowing the other 3 blocks to drop down a
little. Now, go around and up to the higher level, then push the block to the
left until it falls. Then, continue left and defeat the King Moth before
heading to the next room.

In this room, go left and onto the higher ledge, then defeat the Thunder Armor
along the way. Go left and down, then right and defeat the Poltergeist. Then,
continue all the way down through this room while defeating the enemies along
the way. When you reach the very bottom, go left and into the next room, where
you can save your game and recover your HP/MP. Leave that room and go all the
way right to the following room. There, defeat the King Moths flying overhead
and go right, then jump to the upper ledge. Here is a pretty interesting
puzzle you must complete to progress through this area. On the upper ledge,
stand on the cracked block and push the top block down to the ground below.
Drop down to the bottom area and tackle the cracked block to get rid of it,
then push the block that was next to it to the right. Get back to the upper
ledge and tackle the other cracked block, then push the last block right and
down the small drop. Finally, jump on the pile and slide right under the wall
to continue. From there, go right through the door into the next room.

In this next room, head right and down all the ledges to the bottom area of
the room, while defeating the Bone Towers along the way down. Jump to the
right ledge and go right, then up the right side of the room, defeating the
Thunder Armors along the way. When you get to the top, push the block to the
left until it falls. Now, push that block down each of the ledges until you
get to the very bottom, then push it to the right a bit. Stop it under the
second torch to the right, then jump on it and double jump to the ledge with
the Hearts Max Increase item above you. After that, get back down and go left.
Double jump to the higher ledge and continue left to the next room. In this
room, go left and jump to the upper ledge, then go left. Tackle the cracked
block, then jump onto the block at the edge of the platform and double jump to
the high left ledge. Defeat the Fox Hunter and double jump right to another
ledge. There, defeat another enemy and push the block there to the left so it
falls to the platform below. Get back down there, then push the left block
down to the ground, then push the other block on top of it. Now, slide under
the wall and continue to the next room.

Here, go left and jump up to the higher ledge, Continue going up all the
ledges while defeating the Fox Hunters on each ledge until you get to the top.
There, whip the right wall and enter the hidden room, then defeat the
Poltergeist and collect the Hearts Max Increase item. Now, leave this room and
go left, then drop down to the ledge below you. Defeat the Fox Hunter, then
push the block about halfway to the left so it sticks out the side of the
wall. Continue down a couple more ledges to the other block in the wall, and
push that one halfway to the left as well. Now, get to the bottom of the room
and defeat the 2 Holy Armor enemies here, then go left and jump up to the
higher ledge. Go up the ledges and defeat the Fox Hunters, then use the blocks
sticking out of the wall to progress to the top of the room. When you get
there, take the MP Max Increase bottle sitting behind the Fox Hunter. Now,
drop all the way down to the bottom of the room again and go left into the
next room.

Here, go left and drop down to the ledge directly below you while defeating
the enemies flying around here. Whip the right wall on the that ledge, and
enter the hidden room you opened up. Defeat the Grizzly and Fox Hunter, then
go right and take the Hearts Max Increase item. Now, go back left and out of
this room, then in the previous room, drop all the way to the very bottom of
the room. When you get there, go through the door to the right to enter the
next room. There, go right and double jump to the upper ledge. There, go right
and over the giant block area and defeat the Bone Tower at the other side.
Tackle the cracked block to the right and push the block off the platform to
the area below. Drop down there and push that block against the right wall,
then push the nearby block against the first one. Now, get back up to the
upper ledge and tackle all the cracked blocks up there. Then, push the regular
block to the right and off the edge to land on the other two blocks below. Get
to the left side of that block and push it to the right wall, then jump on it
and slide under the wall. Then, continue right and into the next room.

In this room, go right and defeat the Poltergeist there. When you reach the
edge, dash and double jump to the high ledge to the right. Whip the wall there
and enter the hidden room. Defeat the Hipogriff and take the MP Max Increase
bottle, then leave this room. Drop down to the lower area and go left, then
defeat the Forest Armor and Poltergeist that comes down at you. Continue left
and into the next room, which is a save room. Save and recover here, then
leave the room and continue to the right through the previous room. Go right
and down, then to the left while defeating the enemies along the way. When you
reach the bottom of the room, continue all the way right to the following
room. Here, go right and defeat some more new enemies, including the Golem and
Dryad. Continue right to the end, then double jump to the higher ledge. Get
all the way to the top and you'll get a HP Max Increase bottle. After that,
get back down and go all the way left to the previous room. Here, go to the
left and defeat the Forest Armors, then continue to the following room. There,
just go left and into the boss's room, where you'll fight Death. Read the
Bosses section for help on beating this boss. After you win, go left into the
next room and take the Cleanse Magic Item.

After you get the new item, whip the left wall and enter a hidden room. Defeat
the Golem and get the HP Max Increase bottle, then leave that room. Now, head
back right through the next few rooms until you reach the large room with the
Forest Armors. There, take the lower path down and to the right, defeating the
enemies along the way, then continue into the next room. There, go right and
defeat the Golems and Dryads until you reach the end, then slide through the
wall at the end to get to the Catacomb again.

Catacomb
--------

When you enter this area, go right and defeat the Skeleton Bomber, then
continue all the way down to the bottom of this room. Then, go right into the
next room. Go right and defeat the Grizzly and Arachne enemies that now
inhabit the Catacomb. When you see the upper ledge above you, jump to the left
ledge and then up into the Abyss Stairway.

Abyss Stairway
--------------

Back in this area, head left and all the way up through this room by jumping
from ledge to ledge. Continue all the way to the top, then up into the next
room. There, go up a little more and through the first door to the right. Head
right through that room and continue into the Underground Waterway.

Underground Waterway
--------------------

When you enter this area, go right and drop down to the lower ledge where the
water is pouring into the room. As soon as you step into it, the Cleanse Magic
Item takes effect, cleaning the water in this room for you to travel in. Go
left and down to the bottom corner of the room, then whip the wall to reveal a
hidden room. Enter it and defeat the Frozen Shade, then take the Hearts Max
Increase item there. Then, leave that room and continue to the right through
the water area of this room. Defeat the endless numbers of Mermen that show
up, and get to the ledge above the water to the right. From there, jump to the
right ledge and continue to the next room. In this room, go right and across
the water area, then hit the switch on the ledge. Doing so will make the large
steps throughout the entire level turn into flat surfaces, and vice versa if
you hit the switch again. Hit the switch once to be able to pass to the right,
then defeat the Ice Armors and continue right. Hit the second switch to lower
the steps again, then go left and up to the higher area. Defeat a couple more
Ice Armors and continue up to the top, then jump to the right ledge. From
there, jump to another ledge and hit the switch there to flatten the steps.

Now, continue to the right through this room and defeat the enemies along the
way. When you get to the far right end, defeat the Ice Armor and get to the
higher ledge up and to the left. Defeat yet another Ice Armor and hit the
switch to make the steps appear once again. Go back down and left, then take
the steps all the way up and left to the wall. Whip the wall and enter the
hidden room, then defeat the Frozen Shade and take the MP Max Increase bottle
inside. Now, leave that room and jump up the ledges in front of you to reach
the above room. Go up to the higher ledge and use the Mercury/Serpent DSS
combo to freeze the Brain Floats. When you get to the top of the room, defeat
the Frozen Shade and take a HP Max Increase bottle. After that, drop all the
way down and into the previous room. Go all the way down the steps and go
right, then down, while defeating the Ice Armors along the way. Get to the
bottom-right area of the room, then continue right to the following room. Hit
the switch in front of you, then go back to the previous room. Go up the
ledges and head all the way left to another room. There, defeat an Ice Armor
and take the HP Max Increase bottle. Jump up onto the ledge and walk straight
through the wall, where you'll find a Hearts Max Increase as well. Take it,
then go back right and leave the room, then go back right and down to the
following room.

In this room, hit the switch again to flatten the steps, then head right and
defeat the Frozen Shade floating there. Continue right and defeat the
Abiondarg enemies, Mermen, and the Frozen Shade, then hit the switch all the
way to the right to lower the steps again. Now, go back to the left and head
up the steps. Jump up the ledges to reach the higher area of the room, then go
right and defeat a Frozen Shade and Abiondarg. Then, go right and down the
steps and continue to the right into the next room. Here, defeat the Witch
flying around, as well as the other enemies around here as you make your way
to the right end of this room. Hit the switch at the end to flatten the steps,
then head back left to the previous room. Continue to the left and defeat the
Frozen Shades along the way. Jump across the ledges to the flattened platform,
then jump up some more ledges to reach the top of the room. Then, go right and
across the other flat area and continue into the next room. Defeat the Ice
Armor there, then grab the HP Max Increase bottle there. Now, leave that room
and go all the way left and down, then right to the following room again.
Continue to the right and ignore the switch you pass this time.

This time, take the path downward and to the left into the water. Go through
the water and defeat the Fishheads and Spearfish to the end, then double jump
up and collect the MP Max Increase bottle. Go back to the right to the other
side of the room, then onto the dry ledge there. Continue right into the next
room, where you can recover and save your game. Then, leave the room and go up
the ledges to the top of the room. At the top, go left and to the wall, then
continue up a couple ledges while defeating the enemies along the way. Take
the MP Max Increase bottle at the top, then go back down and right, then down
to the switch. Hit it this time, then go back upward and go up the now lowered
steps. Continue upward and hit the switch, then head right into the next room.
There, go right and drop down through this room while defeating the Frozen
Shades along the way. When you get to the bottom, continue right and defeat
several more Frozen Shades. Hit the switch at the end to lower the steps, then
go back left and up the steps to the higher area. Jump up to the higher ledge,
then kick up the walls to get to the top. There, defeat the Siren and another
Frozen Shade and continue right. Drop down to the lower area and 2 more Frozen
Shades, then continue into the next room.

In this room, go right and drop down to the bottom of the area. Hit the switch
you see to flatten the steps from before. Then, continue to the right and
defeat the Ice Demon and Lizardmen you encounter. Collect the Hearts Max
Increase at the end, then go all the way to the left and up, then to the left
into the previous room for now. There, go left and up while defeating the
Frozen Shades and Sirens flying around. Then, continue right into the next
room. In this room, head right and defeat the Ice Demon you encounter, and the
Lizardmen further ahead. When you get to the end, take the MP Max Increase
bottle sitting there, then head all the way left to the previous room. Go left
and down while defeating the enemies along the way, then continue left into
the following room. Go right and double jump across to the ledge to the right.
Defeat all the Lizardmen along the way, then continue into the next room.
Here, defeat the Evil Hands flying around and jump up to the higher ledges,
then go right and defeat several more enemies. Head right into the next room,
where you can recover and save your game if you want.

After you save, leave the save room and head back left and down while
defeating the Frozen Shades and Evil Hands along the way. When you get to the
bottom area, go right and defeat the Lizardmen and more Evil Hands, then go
through the door at the end to enter the next room. There, go right through
the boss's door to enter the boss room. Upon entering that room, you'll
automatically walk to the right to meet Camilla. You'll talk for a moment,
then the real battle will start, so read the Bosses section below for help on
beating Camilla. After you win, Camilla will give you a final warning before
dying. Now, go right and into the next room. Go right and take the Roc Wing
Magic Item, which will allow you to fly upward if you press Up + R. After
that, leave this room and go left through the next couple rooms until you're
in the room with the Lizardmen and Evil Hands again. There, go left and up,
then right into the save room. Save and recover at this point before leaving
again.

After you leave the save room, use the Roc Wing and fly upward around the
ledges along the way. You'll see an opening to the left about halfway to the
top; land on the ledge next to it and double jump towards the right wall and
whip it to find a hidden room. Enter that room and defeat the Wind Armor, then
take the HP Max Increase bottle before leaving that room. After you leave that
room, get across to the other side of this shaft and enter the left opening.
Take the Hearts Max Increase there, then fly out of that room and continue to
the very top of this area. There, go left and drop down to the platform below,
then continue left to the Eternal Corridor.

Eternal Corridor
----------------

When you enter this area, head straight up by jumping from ledge to ledge,
defeating the enemies along the way. Take the first path going right into a
warp room. Warp twice (when you get to the first area, press Up again to warp
again). Then leave the room, and you'll be in the Audience Room.

Audience Room
-------------

Back here, go right and down and defeat the enemies that are in the way.
Continue right and up, then left and up to reach the Outer Wall.

Outer Wall
----------

When you enter this area, use the Roc Wing to go up, then make your way left
through this area all the way to the following room. Here, go left and defeat
the enemies you encounter, then use the Roc Wing about halfway through this
room to shoot straight up to a really high ledge you normally couldn't reach.
Go right and defeat the enemies, then fly up again and take the MP Max
Increase bottle there. Now, go back down to the very bottom area of the room
again and continue to the left. When you reach the wall, use the Roc Wing a
few times to shoot all the way to the top of the room. There, go right and up
into the Observation Tower.

Observation Tower
-----------------

When you enter this new area, start by heading left and kick up the wall, then
double jump to reach the higher area. Defeat the Legions floating around, but
try not to get hit by one, since you'll be cursed for a period of time.
Anyway, double jump up a couple more ledges, then jump towards the left wall
and whip it to open a hidden room. Enter it and defeat the Legion, then take
the MP Max Increase bottle and leave that room. Continue to the right across
this room while defeating the Legions along the way. Go all the way right,
then down and right into the next room. Here, go all the way right while
defeating the Wind Armors along the way. At this point, it's HIGHLY
recommended you have the Neptune/Griffin DSS combo activated so you don't get
hurt by any of the Wind Armors' attacks. When you get all the way to the
right, use the Roc Wing to reach the upper half. From there, continue to the
left all the way to the end, then grab the HP Max Increase bottle there.

Now, go all the way right and down, then left out of this room. Jump up from
ledge to ledge while defeating the Legions along the way until you get to the
top. Then, go right and into the next room. In this room, head to the right
and defeat the Evil Pillars and Minotaurs roaming around. Be careful of the
Minotaur's strong and quick earth attacks; use the Neptune/Golem DSS combo for
added protection here. When you get to the end, take the Hearts Max Increase
item, then go all the way back left to the previous room. Go left and down a
couple of ledges while defeating the Legions here again. When you can go left,
head in that direction and continue up, then use the Roc Wing to get up to the
next room. Here, make your way up several more ledges to get to the top of
this room, while defeating the Evil Pillars and Sirens on the way up. When you
get to the top, jump and whip the left wall to reveal a hidden room. Enter
that room and defeat the Catoblepas, then take the Hearts Max Increase item
and leave the room. Continue right through this room and defeat some more
Sirens and an Evil Pillar, then enter the room to the far right. Save your
game and recover at this point.

After you've saved, leave the room and drop down through the holes in the
floor to reach the lower area. Continue down to the very bottom of this room
(where the Siren and Evil Pillars are), then go right and jump to the higher
ledge. Whip the wall to reveal a hidden room, then enter it and head right.
Defeat the Minotaurs along the way, then take the HP Max Increase at the end.
After that, go back left to the previous room. Go left and use the Roc Wing to
get to the upper ledge, then head right into the following room. In this room,
go right and watch out for the Dullahans moving quickly back and forth. Wait
until one comes close, then attack it. Use that method to defeat them all as
you progress through this room. If you're lucky, one may also drop Platinum
Armor for you to keep, too. When you get to the end, use the Roc Wing to shoot
up to the next room. There, go right and use the Roc Wing to go up from ledge
to ledge. Defeat the Heat Shade and Frozen Shade enemies along the way, too.
At the top, go left and down some ledges, then go left into the next room.

In this room, head left and defeat the Alraunes and Demon Lords along the way.
When you get to the very end, collect the MP Max Increase item there, then
head all the way right out of this room. Here, go up the ledges and defeat the
Heat/Frozen Shade enemies, then go through the left door into another room. In
this room, make your way to the left end of the room by using the Roc Wing to
get over the tall ledges. When you get to the left, shoot upward and onto the
top platform. Go right and defeat the 2 Dark Armors, then continue right and
downward, then right and up with the Roc Wing. From there, continue to the
next room. Here, go right and defeat another Dark Armor and an Evil Pillar,
then go up the ledges to the top. Jump and whip the right wall to find a
hidden room there. Enter that hidden room and defeat the Dark Armor, then take
the HP Max Increase bottle. Leave this room and continue to the left while
defeating the enemies you come across. Drop down the ledges to the bottom,
then go left and up to another ledge, then left to another room. Defeat the
Legions and Catoblepas as you make your way to the left end of the room. When
you get there, take the Hearts Max Increase item and go all the way back out
of this room.

Back in the previous room, go right and use the Roc Wing to fly upward to the
higher ledges. Take the first path to the left into the next room. Here, go
left and you'll encounter the Devil enemy. Keep your distance and use lots of
strong attacks, healing when needed, until you finally destroy this creature.
After that, continue left into the following room. Drop down through this
room, defeating the Evil Pillars and Legions along the way, then land on the
lower ledge to the left. Whip the wall and enter the hidden room you just
revealed. In that room, go left and defeat some Evil Pillars, then jump to the
higher ledge and continue up through this room. Defeat the Dark Armors around
and get to the upper-right corner of this room, where you'll find the Hearts
Max Increase item there. After that, go back left and down to the bottom of
this room, then go right out of here. Back in the tall room, continue to the
bottom of the room and head left into a warp room. I highly advise you, since
there isn't another save room further ahead in the Observation Tower, that you
warp to another area with a save room nearby (the east half of the Audience
Room).

After you do what you wish to do as far as recovering/saving goes, get back to
that warp room, and exit it. Use the Roc Wing to get up to the top of this
room while avoiding the enemies on the way up. At the top, go right into the
next room. Here, go right and either avoid or fight the difficult Devil once
again, and continue right into the following room. Here, get to the highest
ledge with the Roc Wing, then head right and defeat the Dark Armor there. At
the end, fly up to the higher ledge and continue to the right, defeating
another Dark Armor. Then, go left into the next room. Here, take the time to
prepare yourself for the upcoming battle (Jupiter/Mandragora DSS combo to
replenish your HP). When you're ready, go left and into the boss's room.
You'll meet Hugh here, but Hugh has turned evil and wants to battle you. So,
read the Bosses section for help on beating Hugh. After you win, Hugh will
come back to his senses and explain to you why he acted the way he did. Now,
continue left into the next room and claim the Last Key, which you need to
enter the Ceremonial Room to meet Dracula.

Now, leave this room and continue out of the boss's room as well. Before you
leave this quiet room, heal yourself from the battle you just had so you don't
die on the way to a save room. Then, go right and you'll be back in the large
room with the Dark Armors. Go right and defeat the enemies, then drop down and
continue to the left. Continue left and into the next room. There, go left and
avoid the Devil if you're low on health, then keep going into the following
room. There, drop all the way down to the bottom of the room and go left into
the warp room. Now, use the warp room until you end up in the westmost warp
room. Then, leave the room and you'll be in the Audience Room.

Audience Room
-------------

When you enter this area, head right until you're able to go upward. Then,
jump to the higher ledge and go left through the door into the Triumph
Hallway.

Triumph Hallway
---------------

In this new area, head left and defeat all the weaker enemies along the way.
At the end, jump to the ledge and walk up to the left wall. Whip it and enter
the hidden room, then defeat the Fleamen and take the HP Max Increase there.
Leave that room and continue downward through the previous room, then go left
through the door into another room. Go all the way left through this room
while defeating the weaker enemies along the way, then continue into the
following room. Here, go left and defeat the Flame Armor, then use the Roc
Wing to shoot up to a high ledge. There, take the HP Max Increase bottle to
the left, then drop back down and go right out of this room. Continue through
the next couple of rooms while defeating all the weak enemies until you end up
in the Audience Room again.

Audience Room
-------------

Back in this area, there isn't much left to do except to enter the nearby
Ceremonial Room and take on Dracula. Before you continue, please check out the
DSS Cards and Max Increase Items sections later in this guide, and try to
collect as many of those items as you can; they'll really help you in this
final fight with Dracula. Whenever you're ready, go right and down, then right
into the next room. There, jump over the pit and open the door with the Last
Key, then enter the Ceremonial Room.

Ceremonial Room
---------------

When you enter this final area of the game, go right and drop down to the
bottom of this room. Spin your whip to make a hole in the floor, then fall
into another room. Take the HP Max Increase bottle there, then use the Roc
Wing to get out of this room. Now, continue all the way up to the top of this
room, then go left through the blue door to meet Dracula. When you enter this
room, Dracula will speak for a moment, then battle will begin after a short
conversation. Read the Bosses section for help on beating Dracula the first
time around here. After you beat Dracula's first form, he'll warp away,
wanting more power. Then, Hugh will come and free the Master, and they'll both
leave you to fight Dracula. Now, before you step into that warp to fight
Dracula for the last time, it's advised you go find a save room and recover
and save your game. After you do that, return here and step into the warp to
fight Dracula for the last battle of the game. Read the Bosses section for
help on beating him there, too. After that, congratulations on beating Circle
of the Moon!

-= 7. Bosses -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Cerberus
    Found: Catacomb
    HP: 600
    Experience Points: 500
Strategy: This is the first actual boss of the game you must fight in
order to continue through the game. It is highly recommended you
have the Holy Water as your current sub-weapon (the weapon you
use by pressing Up + B). Cerberus also changes colors every now
and then, each comes with a new attack. When it's blue, it'll
either jump at you or shoot an electrical ball that drops
lightning bolts around for a period of time. When it turns red,
it'll shoot a light beam at you to attack. When it's safe, get
close and throw Holy Water at it (Up + B). The fire from the
Holy Water will take lots of HP off Cerberus in one shot. Since
Holy Water depletes your Heart count, hit the torches on the
wall to get more Hearts if needed. Repeat the above pattern of
attacking until you defeat this boss.

Necromancer
    Found: Audience Room
    HP: 500
    Experience Points: 2500
Strategy: This boss really isn't too tough if you know how to take it on.
I recommend you're at least level 10 before fighting it as well.
Anyway, Necromancer floats around the room with orbs circling
around him. He'll send the orbs flying after a moment, so be
careful not to get hit. He'll also summon Zombies out of the
ground to attack you during the battle. Use a DSS card combo
which raises your strength, and attack Necromancer as much as
possible without getting too hurt. Continue attacking and
dodging his attacks until you destroy its first form. In its
place is a flying demon creature, which only summons Skeletons
from the ground to attack. Also, watch out because it'll turn
into a giant orb and spin around the room to hurt you, so be
careful of that too. Kill the Skeletons and attack this flying
boss often until you win the battle.

Iron Golem
    Found: Machine Tower
    HP: 1000
    Experience Points: 8000
Strategy: This boss is pretty tough if you're not prepared to fight such a
creature. It's recommended you're between level 15-20 before
fighting it. Anyway, it marches straight ahead and pounds the
ground every couple moments, shaking gears from the ceiling to
fall on you. If you get too close, it'll try to punch you or
shoot a powerful electrical ball at you. Just keep attacking it
often, and if you have the Cross as your subweapon, use it! Be
careful, as this creature can regenerate its HP, making this a
long and tiresome battle. Just keep attacking it often while
avoiding its attacks and you'll eventually win this fight.

Adramelech
    Found: Chapel Tower
    HP: 1800
    Experience Points: 16000
Strategy: This boss is quite tough, so I highly recommend you activate a
defense-boosting DSS combo for this battle. Adramelech shoots
blue fireballs from the area around its head, so stay against
one of the walls and jump when needed to avoid those. There are
small orbs that come out of the ground, so you might want to
destroy those as well. This boss also shoots flying skulls
across the room from either of its hands, so you'll need to
slide to get away from those. When you have a chance, attack the
head to cause damage while avoiding all its other attacks. Keep
at it and you'll eventually defeat this tough boss.

Dragon Zombie (x2)
    Found: Underground Gallery
    HP: 1400 (each)
    Experience Points: 15000 (each)
Strategy: This battle puts you against not one, but two of the giant and
tough Dragon Zombies. This battle will be really tough, so it's
recommended you're at LEAST level 25 or higher for this fight.
Anyway, get in the area between the two dragons, preferably on
the ground, and use the Mars/Mandragora DSS combo's rose sword
to attack when one of the dragons' heads comes down towards you.
As always, watch out for fireballs and energy balls that the
dragons shoot on occassion, and watch for rocks that fall from
the ceiling as a result of those shots. Avoid all those attacks
and try to concentrate on attacking one dragon before the other.
When you finish off the first one, go after the second. Be
careful though, since the remaining dragon will come down and
eat the dead one, recovering a few hundred HP at a time. After a
long and tiresome battle, which you'll most likely have trouble
surviving if you aren't strong enough, you'll beat these bosses.

Death
    Found: Underground Warehouse
    HP: 1760
    Experience Points: 60000
Strategy: This boss is the next one you'll encounter in this game, and
it's going to take a bit more to kill this one off, too. It has
a few different attacks that it will use against you, such as
sending crescent-shaped things from the air to attack, shooting
3 arms at you in 3 directions, or shooting large energy balls at
you. The attacks are pretty predictable, since when Death
crosses its arms, it's about to shoot the 3 arms at you, so be
ready. Just keep moving and jump to attack as much as you can
while avoiding Death's attacks. After you cause enough damage,
it'll transform into a ground-crawling creature. If you have the
Cross as your subweapon, now is the best time to use it. Throw
Crosses at it to attack and cause some nice damage as well,
while avoiding the vacuum pull towards Death, along with the
objects that appear to attack you. Continue the attack until you
defeat this rather simple boss once you get the hang of it.

Camilla
    Found: Underground Waterway
    HP: 1500
    Experience Points: 80000
Strategy: This battle is a little tougher than past battles, but that's
obvious because this is one of the last few bosses of the game
for you to fight. Anyway, Camilla has a few attacks, including
blue bubbles that follow you around, and a laser beam shot from
the giant skull she rides on. When she uses the laser, duck down
on the ground to avoid the hit. When you can, get to a high
ledge and attack Camilla with your whip or Cross (if you have
it), and use a good DSS combo to boost either your strength or
defense. It isn't very safe to stand underneath Camilla either,
as the skull shoots thunderbolts as it floats from side to side.
Also, Camilla will sometimes swoop down from above to attack, or
use a wind attack to cause widespread damage, so be careful! As
I said above, the Boomerang would be your best method of
attacking this boss. Just keep yourself in good shape with
healing items and attack Camilla when you can until you win this
              battle.

Hugh
    Found: Observation Tower
    HP: 2800
    Experience Points: 120000
Strategy: Your fight with Hugh is basically a mirror of yourself as the
enemy. Hugh has all your moves and comes equipped with all the
subweapons, along with several special moves as well. Just run
and jump over him when he charges, then attack him with your
whip or a strong DSS combo (a combo that increases your strength
is good for this fight). Avoid his many predictable attacks, as
they're all alike to your own, and just keep attacking him.
About halfway through, he'll float in the air and gain more
power from Dracula. At this point, he'll move around faster and
attack with more force. Use the same pattern as before and
you'll be able to defeat him easily.

Dracula (1st Round)
    Found: Ceremonial Room
    HP: 1200
    Experience Points: 150000
Strategy: Dracula is very easy to defeat in his first form when you meet
him in the Ceremonial Room. He slowly warps from one place to
another in the room, then performs one of his attacks. His
attacks consist of shooting 2 bats at you, one after another.
He'll send 3 red bats in a column formation to attack you, but
you can easily jump over them too. Finally, he'll shoot bats in
all different directions to hit you. Attack him as soon as he
appears after warping with your whip or a Cross from a distance.
All his attacks are easy to avoid, so it's just a matter of you
              attacking him enough to win.

Dracula (2nd Round)
    Found: Ceremonial Room
    HP: 3000
    Experience Points: N/A
Strategy: This is the final battle in the entire game with Dracula, and he
is tough if you aren't strong enough to do battle. I highly
recommend you should be at least level 50-55 before entering
battle with Dracula here. Anyway, Dracula is huge in his real
form, and he'll warp from one place to another before attacking.
He'll either send a bunch of red bubbles after you, shoot lasers
at you which you can jump over, or make giant rocks fall from
the sky to attack you. I recommend you use the Jupiter/Serpent
DSS combo to protect yourself from the bubbles he shoots. The
time to attack is when the giant eye in Dracula's chest opens
up, and that happens after he reappears after warping. At that
point, jump and throw several Crosses and whip the eyeball to
cause damage, watching out for whatever attack he throws at you.
After you cause enough damage, Dracula will start to flash and
charge really fast towards you. He'll then warp and charge
again, so use the Roc Wing to stay high above and try to avoid
that attack. Beware since Dracula can charge in the air as well
to hit you unexpectedly. After he charges at you a few times,
he'll turn into a floating eyeball surrounded by bats. Your ice
shield will be able to protect you from the bats as they fly by.
Follow the floating eye by using the Roc Wing, and whip it or
throw Crosses to hit it. When Dracula regains his form and
starts charging again, fly straight ahead to avoid it. Repeat
this whole pattern while keeping your HP high until you win this
              battle and beat the game!

-= 8. DSS Cards -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

During the game, there are items known as DSS Cards that you can collect.
Certain enemies drop certain cards, although the chances of you actually
getting one is random (or depending on your Luck status), and once you get a
card, you won't find it again. There are two types of cards: Action and
Attribute. You can combine two DSS Cards together to make a special effect
occur. Here, I'll list all the cards as I find them, along with the many
combos and their effects.

-= 11. Battle Arena Guide -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

The Battle Arena is an optional area of the castle for you to go through, but
it's a VERY tough place to get through, so I recommend you're at least level
50 before trying to get through it. You get there through the Chapel Tower
(directions are below), and you are not allowed to use any DSS Cards in the
Battle Arena, which makes things that much harder. Here's the directions for
getting to the Battle Arena (from the warp room in the Eternal Corridor).

Eternal Corridor
----------------

When you arrive in this area, head upward through this room to the top, then
go right into the Chapel Tower.

Chapel Tower
------------

When you enter this area, go right and defeat the Thunder Armors along the
way. When you can go upward, jump up into the next room. There, go directly to
the right and into the save room, then save and recover right now. After that,
go back to the previous room, and make your way to the very top of the room
while defeating the enemies along the way up. When you get to the top, go left
and up into the following room. Continue upward through this room as well,
making sure to stop at the save room about halfway up and to the left. Anyway,
keep going up through this room to the very top, then jump onto the left ledge
and go left into a previously unexplored room. Here, go left and push the
block out of the way, then defeat the enemies there and take the HP Max
Increase sitting there at the end. Now, go back right and exit this room, then
go right and up into the following room. Here, go left and defeat the Thunder
Demon, then use the Roc Wing to fly straight up through a hole in the ceiling
as a shortcut, then go left and up into the next room.

In this room, go left and up the ledges, then make your way to the left ledge.
Use the Roc Wing to fly straight up as a shortcut, then continue left and down
and left into the following room. Here, go left and jump up to the upper
ledges when you can. Continue up to the top of this room, then go left and
down when the path splits. Go down and push the block to the left aside, then
continue into the next room. In this room, go left and defeat the Hyenas and
Were-jaguars as you make your way through this area. Keep going and you'll
reach the next room, where you'll continue going left and defeating more
stronger enemies. Continue left and you'll see the path split downward or to
the left. Take the path going down, then go down and left into the next room,
which is a warp room. There's no reason to warp right now, so just leave this
room and go back up and left to the other new room.

In this new room, start by using the Roc Wing to shoot to the top of the room.
Jump onto the ledge there and take the MP Max Increase bottle you find. Then,
drop down and land on a ledge to the left. Go left and drop down through this
long room. Defeat the Legions along the way down, then when you reach the
bottom, fight off more Legions and Fallen Angel enemies. You can get the
Saturn DSS card from the Fallen Angel, so keep fighting them, leaving the room
and returning, and fighting some more, until you get that card. Then, go
towards the right and use the Roc Wing to get to another ledge, and go right
and down to find a HP Max Increase bottle. Now, jump back up and left out of
that little area, then drop back down and continue right into the Battle
Arena.

Battle Arena
------------

When you enter the Battle Arena, you'll be in a tall room with 5 torches along
the way up. Each torch contains a subweapon (starting from the bottom: Knife,
Axe, Holy Water, Stopwatch, Cross), and if you have a specific subweapon
already, the torch you'd get it from will drop a Heart instead. Anyway, pick
the subweapon you want (I took the Cross), and get to the top of the room.
Before going through the blue door, you'll receive a warning about how you
can't use DSS Cards in the Battle Arena, but you'll be rewarded if you
complete it. When you're ready, go right and enter the arena. Below, I'll give
you strategy for each of the rooms, telling you which enemies will be there,
and what you should do about them.

Room 1: There are 2 enemies here: a Were-jaguar, and a Were-wolf. Wait until
the Were-jaguar charges at you, then jump back a little. Time it so
when you land, it would've already attacked, giving you a chance to
retaliate before it runs away. As for the Were-wolf, go towards it and
jump when it runs at you, then turn around and attack it as it runs.
Repeat that until you beat that enemy.

Room 2: Here, there are 2 Hipogriffs and 2 Catoblepas in the room. Get away
from the entrance quickly, and jump to attack the Hipogriffs as they
fly by. When they stop to attack, get behind them and jump attack
quickly to beat them. As for the Catoblepas, the steam they shoot in
front of them will turn you into stone, so be careful. Attack from a
distance with the Cross to defeat them quickly.

Room 3: There are 2 Wind Demons and 3 Witches in this room, all flying around.
Try to take one Wind Demon down at a time. Avoid its wind attack it
shoots towards you, and jump to attack quickly from a distance. Jump
and throw your Cross at it to score multiple hits. Use that strategy
to beat both Wind Demons. As for the Witches, a couple of jump attacks
will be enough to defeat them, so avoid their spread attack and defeat
        them first.

Room 4: There are 3 Stone Armors and 12 Devil Towers in this room to fight.
Try to jump and take out one column of Devil Towers at a time, because
their attacks can be annoying when fighting the Stone Armors. Deal
with one Stone Armor at a time from a distance with the Cross while
avoiding the 3 stones it'll throw at you. When you defeat one, move on
and defeat the next row of Devil Towers and the Stone Armor. Repeat
the same strategy to defeat all the enemies here.

Room 5: There are many different types of Skeleton enemies in this room.
They're very easy to get rid of; a couple Crosses and regular attacks
with the whip should be enough to handle them all.

Room 6: There are 2 Flame Demons and several Bone Towers in here. Let both
Flame Demons fly towards you, then jump up and attack them both as
much as you can, while avoiding their flame shots and giant flame
balls they send at you to attack. After you dispose of both Flame
Demons, go left and defeat all the Bone Towers, one by one.

Room 7: 5 Fox Hunters are lined up, one behind each other, in a low passage.
Go right and duck down to avoid the arrows they shoot, and whip each
one as you make your way to the right. Move right when they aren't
attacking, then retaliate quickly. If you're strong enough, you can
slide through each of them to kill them quickly.

Room 8: There are 3 Poison Armors and several Bloody Swords in this room.
Quickly defeat the Bloody Swords when they are flying in place, then
move through the room and defeat the Poison Armors. Take on one at a
time, keeping your distance to avoid the poisonous clouds they shoot.
Use the Cross to take out each one from a distance, then repeat that
pattern to defeat them all. If you happen to be poisoned, use an
        Antidote to quickly cure yourself.

Room 9: There are many Abiondargs that are moving towards you, on both sides
of a long middle platform. Defeat each one as it comes close to you,
until you defeat them all, then jump to the upper ledge and slide to
the right out of this room.

Room 10: Here, there are many Marionettes and Legions moving around here. The
danger of this is that they can all curse you, disabling your whip
and subweapons if they come in contact with you. Try to stay at a
safe distance from them all, and throw Crosses to attack them. If you
get cursed, get away from the enemies and use a Cure Curse right
away. Keep your health high if you get caught in close combat, and
defeat all these enemies from far away.

Room 11: This room is PACKED with Minotaurs! Before you enter this room, I
HIGHLY advise you to equip stuff that will greatly boost your
defense, and that you recover as much HP as you can. As soon as you
enter the room, just let loose with your Crosses, while jumping to
avoid the waves of attacks. Run and jump through the group, chucking
tons of Crosses at them all until you slowly destroy a bunch. When
there are just a few left, just keep hitting them with Crosses until
they're all gone. Of course, you might not have much HP left, but at
least you got through the room in one piece (I hope).

Room 12: There are 3 Succubus and Arachne enemies in this room. I suggest
taking out the Succubus enemies first, by jumping and throwing
Crosses and whipping them every chance you get, while avoiding the
webs that the Arachnes shoot at you. After you dispose of the
Succubus, take on the Arachne, trying not to get hit by the web it
shoots, which slows you down for a few moments. Repeat that pattern
to defeat all these enemies in this room.

Room 13: In this room, there are 5 Demon Lords and 2 Alraunes. As soon as you
enter, chuck as many Crosses as you can straight ahead to kill off
the first Demon Lord. Then, jump and repeat for the second one on the
ledge. Ignore the Alraune for now and jump to the higher ledge, then
left onto the ledge with the third Demon Lord. Squat down right in
front of it so you don't get hit by its shots, and whip it until
defeated. Go left and jump to the ledge in front of another Demon
Lord, and repeat the same strategy as the previous one. After you
beat that one, go left to the wall and drop to the ground, then throw
Boomerangs to kill the Demon Lord on the ground to the right. After
you do that, take on the Alraunes one at a time by jumping and
attacking the small thing that sticks out from the top during its
vine attack. Look for a safe place to stand, then jump and attack
until you defeat it. Repeat that to defeat the other Alraune as well.

Room 14: Here, there are 8 Hyenas; 4 on one side and 4 on the other, both
sides facing each other. When there's a clear time when they're not
shooting around, quickly drop down and slide through one side, then
         the other side quickly.

Room 15: In this room, there are 3 Dark Armors and 12 Evil Pillars to take
care of. To start, jump and destroy the first column of 3 Evil
Pillars, then throw Crosses at the first couple of Dark Armors while
jumping to avoid their attacks. After you take care of them, continue
left and destroy more Evil Pillars. When you see the third Dark
Armor, throw Boomerangs at it as well until defeated. Then, jump and
defeat the remaining Evil Pillars to clear this room.

Room 16: There are 3 White Armors in this room. They're very easy to take out
if you know what you're doing, too. Go right and duck down and whip
one with your whip, moving back when it gets too close. That way, the
laser it shoots will miss you, and you can keep attacking. Repeat
that pattern on the other White Armors to defeat them all.

Room 17: This is the final room of the Battle Arena, and it's also the
toughest. Here, you have to fight the Devil. You better have a good
supply of Potions and Meat if you want to make it through here alive.
Anyway, it's HIGHLY recommended you keep your distance from this
enemy and throw Crosses at it when you have a chance. Just avoid its
various dark attacks and retaliate when you can and you'll
         eventually win the Battle Arena.

After you win, go to the next room to gain the Shinning Armor, which is the
best armor in the game!

-= 12. Max Increase Items -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Throughout the course of this game, there are many upgrades to your HP meter,
MP meter, and Heart meter that you can make. Here, I'll make a list of the
locations of all those upgrades. Please note that my directions are relative
to the map you can view by pressing Select during gameplay, so please try the
best you can to understand them before asking me for further help. Thanks!

=============================
Hearts Max Increase Locations
=============================

Catacomb
--------

1. In the upper-right part of the large room north of the eastmost save room,
use the Double Magic Item to jump to the high ledges and make your way to a
   Hearts Max Increase.

2. In the southmost room below the east save room (the room with the Earth
Demon), go right and slide through the low passage to find the upgrade.

3. In the room directly across from the westmost save room (the one you need
the Heavy Ring to move the block in), push the block out of your way and
defeat the enemies. You'll find this item at the end.

4. In the large room directly below the middle save room, enter the second
room to the right, and you'll find the upgrade there.

Audience Room
-------------

5. In the large room that the western-most warp room is connected to, get to
the top-left corner of that room. Whip the left wall while standing on the
top ledge to the left to reveal a hidden room. Enter it to find your
   upgrade.

6. In the large room to the right of the west save room, there is a Hearts Max
Increase item at around the middle point of the room. Reach it by jumping
up ledges from the south path, or by falling from above on the north path.

7. In the large room below and to the right of the eastmost save room, double
jump up to the higher platforms. Make your way up and to the right to find
   the upgrade.

8. In the same room as the previous one, come here with the Kick Boots and
kick up the left walls to reach the very top. Then, go right to find the
   reward.

9. In the tall room above the eastmost save room, use the Roc Wing to fly
straight up to the ledge with this upgrade on it.

10. In the tall room leading from the east exit of the Machine Tower, go down
until you're able to go right. There, use the Roc Wing to shoot all the
way up to an otherwise unreachable room. In that room, go all the way
right, then use the Roc Wing to shoot up to a high ledge. Go left and
    you'll find this item.

11. In the room west of the one leading from the south entrance to Machine
Tower, use the Roc Wing to shoot up to the top of the room, where you'll
find this upgrade on the ledge there.

Outer Wall
----------

12. In the first area where you have to jump from column to column, get to the
fourth column and jump to the right, landing on the ground below. Go right
almost to the wall, then spin your whip (hold B) to reveal a hidden room
below. Drop down to it, defeat the enemies, and take your prize.

Machine Tower
-------------

13. In the first room of this place, go all the way left and ride the moving
platform upward. Then, jump from ledge to ledge all the way to the top to
    find this upgrade.

14. In the upper-left area of the tower, there's a large room with many moving
platforms and a save room connected to it on the left. Get to the upper
left area of that room and whip the wall to find a hidden room. Enter it
and go downward, then fight the Earth Armor and take your reward.

15. In the long room to the left of the room with the blocks you must tackle
to get past, defeat all the Stone Armors and Fox Archers to find this item
    at the end.

Eternal Corridor
----------------

16. In the room after the long hallway areas, go right and drop down to the
lower area. Whip the right wall and enter the hidden room you revealed.
Defeat the Bone Towers and collect the item.

17. In the room that the warp room is connected to, make your way down and
left, then up the other side. You'll find this item at the end of the path
    upward.

Chapel Tower
------------

18. In the second room of the tower with the Brain Floats to the left, head to
the left side of the room. Use the Mercury/Serpent DSS combo to freeze the
Brain Floats, then use them to reach the higher ledge. From there, kick
against the walls to get to the very top, where you'll find this upgrade.

19. In the bottom-left corner of the large room with the Marionettes and
Bloody Swords flying around (the room with the small opening in the
bottom-left wall, coming from the Battle Arena), kick and double jump up
the walls to reach a ledge with the item on it.

Underground Gallery
-------------------

20. In the first room of the Underground Gallery, go all the way left and into
the following room. Push the block away with the Heavy Ring, then continue
    left to find this item.

21. In the same room as mentioned above, you'll find a switch on a ledge on
the left side of the room. Hit it to make a moving platform go across the
track below. Quickly go down and right, then onto the higher ledge to
reach the moving platform. Ride it to the right and slide under the wall
at the end to get this item.

Underground Warehouse
---------------------

22. In the large room following the one with the first block puzzle, you'll
see this item on an unreachable ledge. Get to the upper-right side of the
room and push the block you find there to the left. Push it down all the
ledges until you get to the very bottom, then push it to the right a
little bit. After pushing it, jump on it and double jump to the ledge with
    this upgrade.

23. In the room where you first meet the Holy Armor, get to the upper-right
corner of the room. There, whip the wall to open a hidden room. Enter that
    room and get the item.

24. In the tall room after the first encounter with Holy Armor, drop down to
the ledge below where you enter the room, and whip the wall to reveal a
hidden room. Enter it and defeat the enemies there, then grab your reward
    at the end.

25. From the same tall room as mentioned above, drop down to the ledge below
the one where you revealed the hidden room, and go right into another
room. Continue right into the following room, then use the Roc Wing to
shoot up and right to a high ledge. There, go left and whip the wall to
find another hidden room. Defeat the Holy Armor and take the upgrade
    there.

26. In the same room as above (the large one you were in prior to entering the
hidden room), get down to the lower area and you'll have to solve a block
maze. Jump to the ledge with the left block, push it to the right, jump on
it, then tackle the topmost cracked block. Now, go back down to the lower
ledge and tackle the other 3 cracked blocks. Push the block in front of
you into the pit, then get to the top ledge and push the other block down
the ledges onto the other block. Then, slide under the wall and go into
another room. There, continue right into the following room. In that room,
go right and up to the top-right corner of the room, and you'll see the
    upgrade there.

Underground Waterway
--------------------

27. In the bottom-left corner of the first room, whip the wall and enter the
hidden room. Defeat the Frozen Shade and take your prize.

28. In the first large room, lower the stairs, then get to the bottom-left
area of the room and into the next room. Hit the switch and come back to
the previous room, then go up and all the way left to a room you missed
before. Get the HP Max Increase, then go through the wall to find this
    item.

29. In the lower-right area of the large room with the Ice Demon and Lizardmen
enemies, you'll find it at the far right of that room.

Observation Tower
-----------------

30. In the first room where you meet the Evil Towers and Minotaurs, go all the
way right to the end and you'll find this item.

31. In the second large room of this tower, get to the top of that room. Once
there, whip the left wall to reveal a hidden room. Enter it and defeat the
    enemy, then claim your prize.

32. In the long room directly above the one with the Dark Armors, go left and
defeat the Catoblepas and Legions, then claim this upgrade at the end.

33. In the long room that the north warp room is connected to, get onto the
lower ledge on the left. Whip the wall and enter the hidden room, then get
to the upper-right area of that room to find this item.

=========================
HP Max Increase Locations
=========================

Catacomb
--------

1. In the room directly below and to the right of the eastmost save room (it's
shaped like a backwards "L"), get to the top of the room to find the
   upgrade.

2. In the same room as mentioned above, take the path above where you found
the first HP Max bottle, then kick up the walls to the top of the room. Go
right and you'll find this one.

3. In the bottom-left room, which is directly below the save room, double jump
up the ledges and beat the enemies. When the path splits, jump to the right
ledge and then up to another ledge. From there, you'll see several Brain
Floats overhead. Use the Mercury + Serpent DSS combo and freeze the
enemies, then jump along the frozen enemies to the top of the room, where
   you'll find your reward.

4. In that tall room (the first room where you're falling for a long time),
get against the left wall and keep whipping it on your way down. About
halfway down, you should reveal a hidden room in that wall (use the Roc
Wing to keep trying to find it). Get into that room and you'll find this
   bottle there.

Audience Room
-------------

5. From the west save room (directly to the left of the large room), take the
north path up and right into the next room. Follow the path to the right
until you reach the pit. Dash and double jump across to the other side,
then enter the next room to find the upgrade.

6. From the large room down and to the right of the eastmost save room, go all
the way to the bottom of that room and go left into another room. Follow
the path left to the wall, then whip it to find a hidden room. Enter it to
   find the upgrade.

7. In the large room directly to the right of the westmost save room, get to
the upper-right corner of that room. Go right into the next room, and
tackle the block in your way to reach the bottle.

8. In the large room down and to the right of the eastmost save room, continue
right and use the Kick Boots to get up to a higher area, then right into a
new room. Go all the way right and defeat the Skeleton Athletes (this is
the only enemy you can get the Griffin DSS Card from, by the way), then
you'll find the bottle at the end.

9. In the tall room that the westmost save room is connected to, go all the
way up to the top. Use the Roc Wing to get to the very top of the room,
where you'll find this bottle on a ledge.

10. In the tall room west of the one leading to the south entrance of the
Machine Tower, go down and right into the room below it. Push the block to
the right with the Heavy Ring, then go right and defeat the Thunder Demon
    and take the bottle.

Outer Wall
----------

11. In the east half of this area, there are many Brain Floats flying above
and below each other in a sort of line. Use the Mercury/Serpent DSS combo
to freeze them and use them as stepping stones to get all the way to the
very top of the area. From there, make your way right and down, then right
    again to the upgrade.

Machine Tower
-------------

12. In the room directly to the right of the first save room of Machine Tower
(the room's shaped like an upside-down "L"), get to the bottom of that
    room to find this bottle.

13. In the first room you encounter the Thunder Demon, get to the upper-right
area of that room. Whip the wall to open a hidden area, then enter that
    room and find your reward.

14. After you get the Kick Boots Magic Item, go to the large room that the
middle save room is connected to. From there, go down and left into
another room. Go left and use the Kick Boots to go up through the room to
the top, where you'll find the bottle you seek.

Eternal Corridor
----------------

15. In the large room that the warp room is connected to, get to the lower
left corner of the room. Double jump against the left wall and whip it to
reveal a hidden room. Enter it and you'll find the bottle there.

Chapel Tower
------------

16. In the long hall below the larger tower rooms, go all the way left to the
next room. Go right and defeat the enemies, then use the Roc Wing to shoot
up to the top of the room, and you'll find the bottle.

17. In the first large room (the one that the first save room is connected
to), take the bottom-left path to the next room. Use the Heavy Ring to
push the block out of the way, then continue left and defeat the enemies.
You'll find the bottle at the end of this room.

18. In the room above the one with the Thunder Demon and Were-panthers, kick
up the right wall when there aren't anymore ledges to jump to. Halfway up,
whip the right wall to reveal a hidden room. Enter it, defeat the Gorgon,
    and take the prize.

19. In the room with the Were-bears, Hyenas, and Were-panthers around, get to
the bottom-left corner of the room. Whip the wall and enter the hidden
room you revealed, then defeat the enemies and take the bottle.

20. In the room directly above the second save room, go left and push the
block out of the way with the Heavy Ring, then defeat the enemies and take
    the bottle there.

Triumph Hallway
---------------

21. In the first room of Triumph Hallway, go all the way left to the wall.
Jump on the highest ledge and whip the wall, then enter the hidden room
and defeat the enemies to find the bottle.

Underground Gallery
-------------------

22. In the first room of this area, take the lower-left path to the next room.
There, go left a bit, then use the Roc Wing to shoot up to an otherwise
unreachable area, then go right and claim this bottle.

23. In the first room, take the bottom-right path into the next room. There,
push the block away with the Heavy Ring, then continue right and defeat
all the enemies to find the bottle at the end.

Underground Warehouse
---------------------

24. In the room with the Golems and Dryads, go all the way to the right, then
double jump up all the ledges. When you get to the top, you'll find the
    bottle there.

25. In the tall room at the west end of the warehouse (the one after the room
with the Holy Armors), use the Roc Wing to shoot straight up to a high
ledge at the top. Defeat the Arch Demon there, then take the bottle.

26. In the same room that Hearts Max Increase #25 is located in (view the
Hearts Max Increase list for instructions on getting to that room), get to
the upper-left corner of that room, and you'll see the bottle on the ledge
    there.

Underground Waterway
--------------------

27. This one is pretty annoying to get if you don't know what you're doing. In
the first really large room with all the switches and stuff, hit the first
switch you come across to make the stairs go up. Go right and hit another
one to lower the stairs. Go up and right, then down into the next room.
There, hit the switch to flatten the steps, then go back to the previous
room. Go up and all the way left to another room. Defeat the Ice Armor and
    you'll find your reward there.

28. In the same large room I mentioned above, get to the very top-left area of
this room and jump up the ledges to reach another room. Use the
Mercury/Serpent DSS combo and freeze the Brain Floats, then get to the top
of the room and find the bottle there.

29. In the large room to the left of the first save room, hit the switch on
the ledge to flatten the steps (if the switch is already down, don't hit
it again). Then, go all the way left to the next room and jump across the
ledges. Continue left and up and to the right into another room. There,
defeat the Ice Armor and get the upgrade.

30. From where you found the previous bottle, go left to the large room and
use the Roc Wing to get up to the flattened platform (when the switch is
down). There, spin your whip to make a hole in part of the ceiling, then
jump up into a hidden room. Jump up the ledges to the top, then defeat the
    Siren and take the reward.

31. In the large room that the eastmost save room is connected to, use the Roc
Wing to fly upward. About halfway up, you'll see an opening in the left
wall. Land on the ledge at that point, then double jump to the right wall
and whip it to open a hidden room. Fly back up there and enter the room,
then defeat the Wind Armor and claim the upgrade.

Observation Tower
-----------------

32. In the large room connected to the first save room, go all the way down to
the bottom-right area of that room. Go right and onto the higher ledge,
then whip the wall to find a hidden room. Enter it and defeat the
Minotaurs, then take this bottle at the end of the room.

33. After you get through the room with the Dark Armors, go right and up along
the right side of the room. When you get towards the top of that section
of the room, whip the right wall to find a hidden room. Enter it and
defeat the Dark Armor, then claim your prize.

Ceremonial Room
---------------

34. In the first room, go all the way down to the very bottom, then spin your
whip so it hits the ground, revealing a hidden room below. Enter that room
and you'll find the bottle there.

Catacomb
--------

1. In the large room that the east save room is connected to, get to the
second lowest ledge on the left side of the room. Go left and to the wall
and whip it to find a hidden room. Go in to find the upgrade bottle.

2. In the same room as the previous one, get to the highest ledge to the left,
and go left into the next room. There, you'll find your upgrade.

3. In the bottom-left room (below the west save room), use the Double Magic
Item to get to the higher ledges as you make your way up and left. You'll
find the upgrade on the ledge at the end.

4. In the upper-right area of the room with the Earth Demon, enter the upper
right room there. Tackle the blocks in your way and collect this bottle at
   the end of that room.

Audience Room
-------------

5. From the first save room you come across when going through this area (the
western one), take the upper path. Get to the highest ledge, then jump
towards the left wall and whip it to find a hidden room. Go into that room
   and you'll find your reward.

6. In the upper-right area of the Audience Room, enter the room directly above
the eastmost save room. You'll see the bottle sitting right there for you
   to take.

7. In the long room directly below the east save room, go all the way to the
   left to find it.

8. In the large room below the west entrance to the Outer Wall area, get to
the bottom of the room and take the lower-right path to the next room.
There, push the block forward and collect the upgrade.

9. In the tall room leading from the east exit of the Machine Tower, go all
the way down until you can head into a side room to the right. There, use
the Roc Wing to shoot all the way up into another room. There, continue
shooting straight up with the Roc Wing, then go right and down and you'll
   find the bottle there.

Outer Wall
----------

10. In the first room of this area (the large room), get towards the middle of
this room, then use the Roc Wing to fly to a really high ledge above. Go
right and defeat the enemies, then fly upward again and you'll see this
    bottle there.

Machine Tower
-------------

11. In the first large room of this place, get to the very top of the room and
onto the left ledge. Defeat the Fox Archer there and whip the wall to
reveal a hidden room. Enter it and defeat the Heat Shade enemy, then take
    the upgrade.

12. In the same room as mentioned above, get to the upper-right part of the
room. There is a ledge you can get onto, and a door to the right that
leads into another room. Go into that room and use the Kick Boots to go up
through this room to find your reward.

Chapel Tower
------------

13. In the first large room where you encounter the Bloody Swords, get towards
the upper-left area of the room. Stand against the left wall atop the
second to last set of steps in the room, whip the wall to reveal the
hidden room, enter the room, and you'll find what you wanted.

14. In the second room of the tower (the one with the Brain Floats flying
along the left half), use the Kick Boots to make your way up the walls on
the right side of the room. When you get to the very top, go left and
    you'll find it.

15. In the first room you encounter the Marionette enemies, you'll reach a set
of steps against the left wall at the end of one of the lower ledges.
Double jump to the higher ledge, then kick up the walls to reach a higher
ledge. Whip the wall and enter the hidden room to find what you were
    looking for.

16. In the tall room connected to the room with the Thunder Demon, freeze the
Bloody Swords and get to the higher ledge. From there, freeze the Brain
Floats (use the Mercury/Serpent combo) and get to the top of the room,
    where you'll find the bottle.

17. In the room after the Adramelech boss room, hit the switch to destroy the
statue and enter the following room. You'll find the bottle there.

18. In the tall room directly above the warp room, use the Roc Wing to shoot
straight up to a high ledge at the top of the room with this bottle on it.

Underground Gallery
-------------------

19. In the room to the right of the long room with the Death Mantis and Harpy
enemies, defeat the Thunder Armor and collect this bottle.

Underground Warehouse
---------------------

20. From the first room of this place, take the right path to the next room.
Go right and defeat the enemies, then push the block out of your way and
continue right to find the bottle.

21. In the room where you first encounter the Holy Armor enemies, go up the
right side of the room first. Push the 2 blocks in the wall about halfway
to the left so they stick out, then go back down and around to the left
side of the room. Jump up the ledges and use those blocks to help you
reach the top, where you'll find the upgrade.

Underground Waterway
--------------------

22. In the first large room of this area, get to the top-left area of the room
where there are 2 ledges leading up to another room. Jump and whip the
left wall, then enter the hidden room you revealed to find the bottle.

23. In the room to the left of the first save room, take the path down and
left through the water. When you get to the other side, jump onto the
    ledge and take the bottle.

24. In the same room as above, from the save room, go straight up and make
sure the switch is down, then go up and left. Continue left and up to find
    the bottle on a ledge.

25. In the upper-right area of the large room with the Ice Demon and several
Lizardmen, go all the way to the right and you'll find this bottle.

Observation Tower
-----------------

26. In the first room, go left and up a few ledges. Jump at the left wall and
whip it to open a hidden room, and enter it to find the bottle.

27. In the room with the Heat Shade and Frozen Shade enemies together, get to
the lower-left area of the room. Go left to another room, then defeat the
Alraunes and Demon Lords there. At the far left end of that room is this
    bottle.

-= 13. Secrets/Tips and Tricks -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Fighter Mode
------------

After you beat the game twice (the second time in Magician mode), you'll be
given another password. Start another new game with "GRADIUS" as your name,
and you'll have higher stats. However, there won't be any DSS cards available
to obtain at all throughout the game, so there's the downfall.

Note: The code must be listed in the file select screen in order for it to
      actually work.

Finding Lilith
--------------

The Lilith is another "hidden" enemy in this game, and by defeating this
creature wins you 20,000 experience points! Anyway, the Lilith is located in
the Underground Warehouse. Get to the tall room at the west end of the
warehouse (the one with the Succubus enemies flying around). There's a hidden
room below the top exit to this room; whip the wall to reveal it. Enter that
room and you'll find this enemy. Defeat it while avoiding the darkness rings
it sends at you, and you'll gain the experience (you'll also find a Hearts Max
Increase upgrade at the end of this room if you haven't collected it already).

Finding the Skeleton Medalist
-----------------------------

The Skeleton Medalist is an extremely fast and well-hidden enemy found in only
one room in this whole game, and the room itself is pretty well-hidden, too.
In the first room of the Catacomb where you're falling down the long shaft,
stay to the left wall and use the Jupiter + Unicorn combo to reveal the room
as you fall. There, take the HP Max Increase bottle, then jump and whip the
ceiling to open another hidden room. That's where the Skeleton Medalist is
located.

Now, the secret to catching it is to stand at the entrance to the first hidden
room and face left. Activate the Pluto/Griffin DSS combo to boost your speed
here, too. Then, walk a little to the left and use the Roc Wing to shoot up
into the new hidden room. As soon as you land dash and jump left and quickly
catch up to the Skeleton Medalist and whip it to kill. Chances are it'll drop
a Toy Ring, but it will also drop the elusive Bear Ring if you keep trying.

Magician Mode
-------------

After you beat the game for the first time, you will be given a password to
enter as a new file. Start a new file and enter "FIREBALL" as your name. When
you start the game, you'll have all DSS cards in your possession.

Note: The code must be listed in the file select screen in order for it to
      actually work.

Mimic Candle
------------

There is a third type of "odd" candle hidden in this game as well. I think it
appears after you beat Camilla, just like the Scary and Trick Candles do. This
one is located in the room with the Skeleton Athletes (view the location of HP
Max Increase bottle #5 in the previous section of this guide for the location
of this room). Go right through here and you'll find a candle on the wall
that's placed a little lower than the other ones on the wall. Attack it and
the Mimic Candle will jump out. This one is stronger than the Scary/Trick
Candles, so you might want to really boost your strength so you can defeat
this enemy quickly. It drops the Gambler Armband if you're lucky enough, too.

Powered-Up Summons
------------------

To power up a summon, simply use any summon you want and press Start just as
you use it. Go into the DSS menu and pick a combo that gives you more
Strength, then unpause. The summon you performed will take much higher amounts
of damage than normal.

Replaying the Last 3 Rooms of the Battle Arena
----------------------------------------------

There is a way to redo the last 3 rooms (or all of them) in the Battle Arena!
When you are in the room with the Shinning Armor, stand in the middle of the
exit and the left side of the armor stand, then face left and slide. If done
correctly, you can turn around and slide back in! All of the doors will be
open, so you can redo as many rooms as you want from end to start! Very useful
for trying to get the Unicorn and Black Dog cards.

Scary/Trick Candles
-------------------

Sometime later in the game, there are 2 fake candles that appear in 2 of the
past boss rooms. Both these candles look odd compared to the background/other
torches in the room, but when you attack the candles, the enemy will jump out
and fall on the ground to disappear. Each of these candles drops a DSS Card,
so that's why you should pursue these creatures. The Trick Candle (Pluto card)
is in the Cerberus boss room (only after beating Camilla), and the Scary
Candle (Uranus card) is in the Iron Golem boss room (only after beating the
Zombie Dragon bosses). I recommend you use the Mars/Mandragora DSS combo,
which is the rose sword, to attack these candles quickly before they
disappear. Keep trying and you'll end up getting both cards from these
creatures after a while.

Shooter Mode
------------

After you beat the game 3 times (regular mode, Magician mode, then Fighter
mode), you'll get another password. Enter "CROSSBOW" as your name, and you'll
start with more Hearts than usual. Plus, your subweapons are more powerful,
and you gain access to the Homing Dagger subweapon in this mode.

Note: The code must be listed in the file select screen in order for it to
      actually work.

Thief Mode
----------

After you beat the game 4 times total (once in each of the previous modes),
you'll gain yet another password. So, start a new file with "DAGGER" as the
name. Your stats will be lower than usual, but you'll have an amazingly high
amount of luck, which means enemies will be more likely to drop items, cards,
etc.

Note: The code must be listed in the file select screen in order for it to
      actually work.

Using DSS in the Battle Arena
-----------------------------

It IS possible to use DSS in the Battle Arena! This trick works best if you
are over level 50, and have at least 10-15 Mind Highs or better.

1. Enter the Battle Arena with a summon combo equipped on your DSS button
   (Uranus + Cockatrice works best).

2. When you want to use your DSS cards, go to "Items" on the pause menu. Use a
Mind High (or better, if you have it). Mind Restores will work too, but
you'd need fingers of fury to pull it off!

3. IMMEDIATELY after exiting the pause menu, hit the DSS button to prepare,
then quickly hit the summon combo (Down, Forward, Up, then attack).

4. If you were fast enough, the summon should work! Try this in the room with
the Minotaurs, Skeletons, or the Marionettes. It really helps!
