VERSION: FINAL

Welcome! I'm writing a guide for Pokemon Crystal. Yes, I usually write
for survival horror games (Resident Evil, Silent Hill), but I'll do a
Pokemon Crystal guide so I can have experience with RPG guides. This
guide will cover everything STRICTLY Pokemon Crystal, so if you're in
need of a Pokemon Gold, Silver, Yellow, Green, Blue or Red guide,
please look at the specific sections for those guides at GameFAQS.com.
Thank you and good luck!

*1. INTRODUCTION*
*****************

Ever since Pokemon Red and Blue hit in 1998, I've been playing the
series occasionally. In 1999, Pokemon Yellow hit. I played that, too.
But I wasn't really INTO the series all that much. I'm more into Silent
Hill, Resident Evil and Final Fantasy. But I still like playing the
Pokemon games. They're fun on my new GameBoy Advance.

Pokemon Red, Yellow and Blue takes place 3 years before Crystal, Gold
and Silver's times. Red, Yellow and Blue focus on Ash Ketchum and Gary
Oak as they compete to complete their Pokemon journey.

3 years later, Chris and Kris try to compete for the Pokemon Kanto-
Johto Championships. They need to raise Pokemon in order to win the
championship, much Gary and Ash before them. Will they win? That's
pretty much up to you.

This guide will cover almost all the aspects of Pokemon Crystal. This
is my first for Pokemon, so be fair! Good luck!

*3. STORY*
**********

NOTE: This is from the instruction booklet.

In this world live creatures called Pokemon. Humans and Pokemon have
lived, worked and played together in harmony for ages. Nevertheless,
there are still numerous mysteries surrounding them. In order to find
out more about these strange and marvelous creatures, many scientists-
such as Professor Elm of New Bark Town- have dedicated their lives to
Pokemon research.

One day, Professor Elm invites you to the lab. When you arrive, he
says, "There are many things I don't quite understand quite yet, so I'd
like you to raise one of these Pokemon which I recently caught." Since
you're a curious person, you agree to help. Suddenly, Professor Elm
receives an e-mail from his friend, Mr. Pokemon, asking him to come and
his latest discovery. Professor Elm is far too busy to leave his lab,
though. So after you choose your Pokemon, he asks you to go see what
Mr. Pokemon has discovered.

Just then, you notice that someone is lurking in the shadows outside,
watching through the window. It appears to be a boy about your age, so
you decide to go outside and talk to him. But when you approach the
boy, he pushes you backward, saying, "What are you looking at?"

Who is this strange boy, and what has Mr. Pokemon discovered?

You can set the game's built-in clock to match the time in the real
world. For example, if you play the game at night, it will also be
night in the game, and you may be able to find some Pokemon that only
come out at that time. There are also things in the game, such as
"Tuesday Events"- you can participate in the event only if you play on
the specified day.

If you are playing Pokemon Crystal in the United States, Daylight
Savings Time (DST) may be in effect. For most of the US, DST begins at
2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday of April and lasts until 2:00 a.m. on the
last Sunday in October. There are some areas in the United States that
do not observe DST. Please check your local regulations when entering
time in Pokemon Crystal.

When DST changes in real life, you should go to your house and talk to
your Mom in the game to go change the clock setting.

****************
*4. BOY OR GIRL*
****************

So are you are girl or boy? It doesn't matter. If you choose either
character the events are basically the same. I chose the girl, though
I'm a boy, because I already chose the boy in Gold and Silver.

Girl: I named her Jill, after Resident Evil and Resident Evil 3: Last
Escape's Jill Valentine. She is basically the same as the boy, but in a
different gender.

Boy: I leave him as Chris, named after Chris Redfield from Resident
Evil and Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X. Once again, he's basically the
as the girl. There's no difference.

Rival: I named him Wesker after Wesker from RE. He's evil like Wesker,
so I see the connection:)

**********************
*5. CHOOSING THE TIME*
**********************

Well, try to pick the EXACT time in real life because the time changes
Pokemon availability. Some Pokemon are nocturnal, so only come at
night.

If it's 10:00 a.m. in real life, try choosing that time. You don't have
to, but it helps so you don't get confused.

Try choosing the correct day, too. The Day Siblings come on certain
days, so you want the actual day to remember when to go.

If it is Daylight Savings Time, talk to the character's Mom to change
the time. Some places, like Indiana, don't observe Daylight Savings
Time, so you don't have to bother with those features.

******************************
*6. WALKTHROUGH- JOHTO REGION*
******************************

Here is the walkthrough for the Johto Region. For the Kanto Region,
look in the next section. Each city has a paragraph or 2 and if the
city has a gym, they'll have a special gym paragraph. This is a step by
step walkthrough. So if you have to backtrack to certain cities, there
will be a new paragraph after the previous task. Good luck!

***NEW BARK TOWN***
1.	After choosing your character and setting up the time, head
Professor Elm's home outside, in the largest building in town.
2.	Inside, talk to him and choose your Pokemon.

CHOICE!!!
You can choose either Cyndaquil, Chikorita or Totodile.

CYNDAQUIL
If you are a beginner, choose him, since he is considerably strong
against the Violet, Azalea and Olivine Gym leaders. He can also beat
many Pokemon at the start, but once you're in the Kanto Region, he'll
be weak against a few leaders.

CHIKORITA
If you are an expert player, you'll want this guy, since he is the
toughest to train. The first 4 gyms are strong against him, but at a
high level, Chikorita is strong.

TOTODILE
He is probably the intermediate choice. He is well rounded and has no
real weakness against a good majority of the Johto and Kanto gyms. He
has the most powerful attack and can easily rack up experience sine he
is so powerful. When he evolves, he'll be a must!

If you're out to build a powerful team, go with Cyndaquil, since he is
a VERY powerful fire type. You can get a Lapras or Blastoise in place
of Totodile and a Victreebell in place of Chkiorita.

END CHOICE!!!

3.	After choosing your Pokemon, Elm tells you to go see Mr. Pokemon,
who lives just north of the next town. Time to go!
4.	Get a Potion from Elm's Assistant.
5.	Outside, exit the town through the west.

***ROUTE 29***
1.	Keep heading west, through the ledges. You'll fight some Hoothoot
and Rattata, but any of the starters can handle them.
2.	You'll see a building halfway, which leads to Route 46 and Route 45,
which connect New Bark Town and Cherrygrove City to Blackthorn City,
home of the 8th Johto Gym. Unfortunately, you can't get very far, so
keep traveling west on Route 29.
3.	You'll eventually reach Cherrygrove City.

***CHERRYGROVE CITY***
1.	Talk to the guy near the entrance to get a map.
2.	Rest your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center.
3.	Go to the Mart and buy some Potion and Antidote.
4.	Exit the town north, on Route 30.

***ROUTE 30***
1.	Go north, and take the branch that goes right.
2.	Raise your Pokemon to Level 7.
3.	Go to Mr. Pokemon's House.
4.	Inside, talk to him and get his Pokemon Egg.
5.	Get the Pokedex from Professor Oak.
6.	After resting, exit.
7.	When you exit, Elm will call you.
8.	Go south back to Cherrygrove.

***CHERRYGROVE CITY***
1.	Rest your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center.
2.	Attempt to exit onto Route 29.
3.	You'll have to battle your Rival.

***RIVAL 1***
???
POKEMON: CYNDAQUIL (YOU CHOSE CHIKORITA) LEVEL 5
TOTODILE (YOU CHOSE CYNDAQUIL) LEVEL 5
CHIKORITA (YOU CHOSE TOTODILE) LEVEL 5.
This battle is easy. Just use your starters' basic attack and he'll
lose. His Pokemon has a sheer advantage against yours, but luckily his
Pokemon doesn't know a special attack.
***RIVAL 1***

4.	After he loses, head through Route 29 to New Bark Town.

***NEW BARK TOWN***
1.	Go to Elm's Lab.
2.	Name your Rival anyway you want. I named him Wesker.
3.	Afterwards, get 5 Pokeballs from his assistant.
4.	Go back to Route 30, north of Cherrygrove City.

***ROUTE 30***
1.	Take the left fork this time.
2.	Capture one bird Pokemon.
3.	Raise that bird Pokemon to level 7.
4.	Battle any trainers.
5.	Cross into Route 31.

***ROUTE 31***
1.	Battle any trainers.
2.	Capture a Bug Pokemon and raise it to level 8.
3.	Go inside the Dark Cave.
4.	Inside, Capture a Geodude. Exit the cave. Be cautious because it is
dark.
5.	Outside, raise Geodude to level 11, where he learns Rock Throw.
6.	Cross into Violet City.

***VIOLET CITY***
1.	Recharge your Pokemon.
2.	Now go to the gym.
3.	Inside, use Geodude's Rock Throw against all the pre-leader
trainers.
4.	Now challenge Gym Leader Falkner to a match.

***JOHTO GYM LEADER 1***
FALKNER
BADGE: ZEPHYR
TM: 31 MUD-SLAP
POKEMON: PIDGEY LEVEL 7
         PIDGETOTTO LEVEL 9
Use Geodude's Rock Throw against him. It is VERY effective and will
finish both Pokemon in about 2-3 hits. Totodile is also strong against
his Pokemon, if he's at level 12.
***GYM LEADER 1***

5.	Travel to the Pokemon Center and get the Egg from his assistant.
6.	Now travel to Sprout Tower.
7.	Inside, use your Bird Pokemon against any trainers' Bellsprout.
8.	Once you see Rival, talk to him and then challenge that leader of
the tower.
9.	Use your Bird Pokemon against his Bellsprout and your Geodude
against his Hoothoot and then you'll win HM-05, Flash.
10.	Exit the Tower with an Escape you found at the tower.
11.	Travel to the Mart and gear up on Poke Balls and Potions.
12.	Go down Route 32.

***ROUTE 32***
1.	Pass by the Ruins of Alph. If you want to explore it, refer to its
section below.
2.	Fight any trainers necessary to gain experience. Try to get all of
your Pokemon to Level 15.
3.	Try capturing an Ekans and raising it to Level 15.
4.	You'll eventually reach a Pokemon Center, where you can heal and
continue training.

DAY SIBLING!!!
If it's Friday, you'll see Frieda and she'll challenge you to a match.
If you beat her, she'll give you a Poison Barb, which increase poison
attacks.
END DAY SIBLING!!!

5.	Travel into Union Cave.

***UNION CAVE***
1.	Challenge any opponents you see.
2.	You won't be able to get around some places, but try to find the
exit.
3.	There's only one room to explore, so you'll get out fairly quickly.

LAPRAS!!!
If it's Friday and you have Surf, Surf from the waters through several
room until you reach Lapras swimming lonely in water. You can capture
one every Friday. If you didn't choose Totodile, he'll be a must-have
Pokemon.
END LAPRAS!!!

4.	Exit outside to Route 33.

***ROUTE 33***
1.	Challenge the lone trainer. Beat him and get his phone number.
2.	Grab the PSN Cure Berry in the plant.
3.	Travel west into Azalea Town.

***AZALEA TOWN***
1.	Rest up at the Pokemon Center.
2.	In the house above the Pokemon Center, talk to Kurt and he will go
to Slowpoke Well to take out Team Rocket.
3.	Follow him to the well at the eastern entrance to the city and go
into the well.
4.	Beat all the Rocket members to gain experience.
5.	Save the Slowpoke by talking to them after beating all the Rockets.
6.	Now go to the gym.
7.	Challenge all the pre-leaders using your bird Pokemon or Cyndaquil.
8.	Challenge Bugsy.

***JOHTO GYM LEADER 2***
BUGSY
BADGE: HIVE BADGE
TM: 49 FURY CUTTER
POKEMON: METAPOD LEVEL 14
         KAKUNA LEVEL 14
         SCYTHER LEVEL 16
Use Cyndaquil or your flier. Kakuna and Metapod will be eliminated
easily (try using a lower level Pokemon). When Scyther arrives, you
have to hit it fast and powerful. Once all 3 are out, you win the Hive
Badge!
***JOHTO GYM LEADER 2***

9.	Recharge at the Pokemon Center.
10.	Get an Apricorn from the bush behind Kurt's house.
11.	Talk to Kurt at his house and he'll make a Special Poke Ball.
12.	Attempt to exit to the west.
13.	Rival will challenge you.

***RIVAL 2***
???
POKEMON: STARTER POKEMON LEVEL 16
         GASTLY LEVEL 12
         ZUBAT LEVEL 12
Try using Geodude against Zubat. Use your starter against his starter,
since your starter should be at level 20 by now. Try using Geodude
again against his Gastly. As always, Rock Throw helps!
***RIVAL 2***

14.	Revive any Pokemon.
15.	Now exit into Ilex Forest west of Azalea.

***ILEX FOREST***
1.	Follow the path until you reach a running Farfetch'd.
2.	Chase it and try to catch it.
3.	Return it to the first person you saw in the Forest.
4.	He'll give you HM-01 CUT.
5.	Teach Cut to either your bird or Totodile or Chikorita.
6.	Use the Cut technique against the Y shaped branches.
7.	Exit to Route 34.

***ROUTE 34***
1.	Battle any trainers.
2.	Raise all your Pokemon's levels to 23+.
3.	Go back to Azalea Town if they need to be healed.
4.	Go into the Daycare.
5.	Get the Old Egg and wait for it to hatch.
6.	Go into Goldenrod City.

***GOLDENROD CITY***
1.	Find the Bike Shop in the eastern section of town.
2.	Inside, talk to the owner to get the Bike.
3.	Go to the Item Section and program the Bike to run by pressing the
Select Button.
4.	Go to the Radio Tower and get the Blue Card and Radio Card!
5.	Go into the gym.
6.	Battle and pre-leaders.
7.	Challenge Whitney, the leader.

***JOHTO GYM LEADER 3***
WHITNEY
BADGE: PLAIN
TM: 45 ATTRACT
POKEMON: CLEFAIRY LEVEL 18
         MILTANK LEVEL 20
Use Geodude and his Rock Throw. Clefairy is easy, while Miltank is
hard. She is quick and powerful. Geodude might faint thanks to
Miltank's Rollout attack. Keep your starter and bird handy as backup if
Geodude kicks!
***JOHTO GYM LEADER 3***

8.	Buy Great Balls at the mart.
9.	Go to the house above the gym and get the Squirt Bottle.
10.	Leave Goldenrod City through the north.
11.	You're on Route 35 now.

***ROUTE 35***
1.	Beat any trainers necessary, making sure your Pokemon are on level
25+.
2.	If you take the path going right near the last building, you'll end
up at a moving tree.

***ROUTE 36***
1.	If you go through the building, you'll be in National Park(refer to
its section below).
2.	Use the Squirt Bottle on the tree.
3.	You will challenge Sudowoodo. Try to catch him!
4.	Talk to the guy to the right of where the tree was to get TM-08
ROCKSMASH.
5.	Teach it to Geodude.
6.	By now, the egg you got in Violet City will have hatched, so head
east into Violet City and take the egg to Elm in New Bark Town.
7.	After the side visits, head north of where the tree was to Route 37.

***ROUTE 37***
1.	Battle all the trainers.
2.	Grab all the Apricorn.
3.	Go north into Ecruteak City.

         MAGNEMITE LEVEL 18
         ZUBAT LEVEL 20
If he has Cyndaquil, use Geodude. Also use Geodude against Haunter and
Zubat since they are weak against his Rock Smash. Magnemite is
especially vulnerable to Rock. Beat him!
***RIVAL 3***

7.	After Rival leaves, go to the gym. Now follow this pattern while
fighting each pre-leader.

MORTY

POKEMON: GASTLY LEVEL 21
         HAUNTER LEVEL 21
         GENGAR LEVEL 25
         GASTLY LEVEL 23
Use Geodude's Rock Smash. It is very powerful and at 25+, it can KO
Gastly and Haunter. When Gengar arrives, hit it fast and strong.
Sometimes a spell will prevent you from switching Pokemon, so if
Geodude is KO'd, use your starter as back up.
***JOHTO GYM LEADER 4***

9.	Go back to Burned Tower.
10.	With Rival gone, go down into the basement.
11.	Use Rock Smash on some rocks that can break (inspect them).
12.	Now go up to the 3 Legendary Dogs.
13.	Raikou and Entei will run away, while Suicune will stay there.
14.	Now we need the Clear Bell. We won't get that until we return to
Goldenrod City, so we won't be back here for a while.

NOTE: You can now run into Raikou and Entei randomly in the wild. Use
Repel to get to them.

15.	Head west to Route 38.

***ROUTE 38***
1.	Travel west and battle any trainers.
2.	Go into the farm and feed the Miltank 10 Berries to get TM-13 SNORE.
3.	Now go down to Route 39.

***ROUTE 39***
1.	Fight any and all trainers.
2.	Give Lass your number. I once got a Thunder Stone from her, which
was cool!
3.	Go down to Olivine City.

***OLIVINE CITY***
1.	If you want to know about Battle Tower, refer to its section below.
2.	Go to the gym and talk to rival.
3.	Rest up.
4.	Head into the Lighthouse on the southeast corner of town.
5.	Climb it while battling all the trainers.
6.	Raise your Pokemon to Level 29 and try to keep them there.
7.	Talk to Jasmine, the leader.
8.	She asks you to get her sick Pokemon medicine from the island to the
west- Cianwood Island.
9.	Exit the lighthouse.
10.	Go to the house west of the Mart and get HM-04 STRENGTH from the
man inside.
11.	Go to the coast- Route 40.

***ROUTE 40***
1.	Using the Surf technique the Kimono Girls gave you at Ecruteak City,
surf passed the Whirl Islands (In the Rare Pokemon section).
2.	Battle any trainers.
3.	Surf until you reach Route 41.

***ROUTE 41***
1.	Surf west.
2.	Battle more trainers to get experience.
3.	Surf into Cianwood Island.

***CIANWOOD ISLAND***
1.	Look north to find Eusine.
2.	Battle him and beat him.
3.	Go to the southern building and get the medicine Jasmine needs.
4.	Go to the gym.
5.	Beat any pre-leaders.
6.	Now push the right boulder UP!
7.	Push the left boulder UP.
8.	Push the middle boulder RIGHT.
9.	Battle Chuck.

***JOHTO GYM LEADER 5***
CHUCK
BADGE: STORM
TM: 01 DYNAMIC PUNCH
POKEMON: PRIMEAPE LEVEL 27
         POLIWRATH LEVEL 30
Now Geodude/ Graveler is basically obsolete. Use any Psychic type you
may have captured outside Goldenrod City and use it's psychic attack.
Use any grass or electric types against Poliwrath. Beat him!
***JOHTO GYM LEADER 5***

10.	Now we need to get back to Olivine.
11.	Look for a woman outside the gym.
12.	Get HM- 02 FLY from the women.
13.	Now teach it to your bird.
14.	Fly back to Olivine.

***OLIVINE CITY***
1.	Climb the lighthouse.
2.	Give Jasmine her medicine.
3.	Now go to the gym and fight her.
4.	You may want to level up at Route 39 and be at level 40.
5.	Battle Jasmine.

***JOHTO GYM LEADER 6***
JASMINE
BADGE: MINERAL
TM: 23 IRON TAIL
POKEMON: MAGNEMITE LEVEL 30
         STEELIX LEVEL 35
         MAGNEMITE LEVEL 30
Use Geodude/ Graveler's Rock attacks. Against that mammoth Steelix, use
fire attacks and water attacks. She's the hardest leader yet, so take
caution. You will want to have your bird and others as back up if
necessary. Beat them!
***JOHTO GYM LEADER 6***

6.	Now we need to get to Mahogany Town.
7.	Check the map- we need to backtrack to Ecruteak City and exit to the
east from there.
8.	Go north to Route 37 and 36 into Ecruteak.

***ECRUTEAK CITY***
1.	Rest up and buy any supplies.
2.	Then exit the city to the east this time.

***ROUTE 42***
1.	Surf east.
2.	You can enter Mt. Mortar if you want to catch Tyrogue.
3.	Enter Mt. Mortar.
4.	Look around, grabbing any items you come across.
5.	It's hard to describe, but you'll find a man from Kanto's Saffron
City.
6.	He'll give you Tyrgoue, the baby form of Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan or
Hitmontop.
7.	Outside, Surf east to Mahogany Town.

***MAHOGANY TOWN***
1.	There's nothing to do here now, since we can't get to the gym.
2.	We should head north on Route 43 toward Lake of Rage.

***ROUTE 43***
1.	Avoid the building smack-dab in the route.
2.	Beat any trainers you run into for experience.
3.	Go to Lake of Rage in the north.

***LAKE OF RAGE***
1.	Go Surf into the lake and then battle RED Gyarados.
2.	Try to catch him since he's VERY rare.
3.	He'll also be good in the next mission.
4.	After beating or catching Gyarados, talk to Lance in front of the
sign.
5.	He tells you to go to Mahogany Town's mart.
6.	Go there now.

***MAHOGANY TOWN MART***
1.	Inside, see Lance beating some guys up.
2.	A ladder will be revealed.
3.	We have to fight Team Rocket again!
4.	Downstairs, pass the statues.
5.	Rockets will attack, but they are easy to beat.
6.	Try to avoid the striped tiled floor.
7.	Shut off the PC to stop the alarms.
8.	Head through the stairs going down.
9.	Downstairs, Lance will recharge your Pokemon.
10.	Passed him is a locked door you need a code for.
11.	Beat the nearby Rockets.
12.	Go down the next stairs.
13.	You'll see Lance again.
14.	Pass him and go up to the girl rocket.
15.	Get the password from her.
16.	Now find a rocket near a planter.
17.	Beat him.
18.	Get the password from him.
19.	Now go to the ladder on the top right corner of the room.
20.	Go left.
21.	Travel down the stairs.
22.	Head through the next set of stairs to find TM-46 THEIF.
23.	Go back down and look at the locked door.
24.	Administer the passwords.
25.	Talk to the rocket and beat him.
26.	Now talk to the bird.
27.	Get the password.
28.	Now go back to the other locked door you saw before.
29.	Give the bird's password.
30.	Now, with Lance, fight the Electrodes to shut the power off.
31.	Now Lance will reward you with HM-06 WHIRLPOOL!
32.	Whirlpool can help access the Whirl Islands between Cianwood and
Olivine! But first we gotta beat the gym leader at Mahogany.
33.	Go to the gym.
34.	We have to slide to the leader.

*13. BATTLE TOWER*
******************

This is the new Battle Tower exclusive to Pokemon Crystal. Here is all
the information I found. The Battle Tower is located west of Olivine
City.

In Battle Tower, you fight other in game trainers with Pokemon at
certain levels. They are fairly difficult, but proper training and
proper team management can beat them.

Here are the rules:

-	Only 3 Pokemon on a team.
-	All 3 can't be the same.
-	They MUST hold different items.
-	They must be within the level area of the tower.

For the all the levels , I recommend these 3 Pokemon:

TOTODILE
Cut
Surf
Mega Punch
Screech
X Attack

GEODUDE
Rock Throw
Tackle
Mega Punch
Defense Curl
X Accuracy

FLAREON
Flame Wheel
Tackle
Fire Spin
[INSERT OTHER MOVE HERE]
X Defend

They cover each other.

Totodile can handle the Fire, Rock and Ground types.
Flareon can handle the Grass, Bird, Normal and Ice Types.
Geodude can handle the Flying, Normal, Psychic and Ghost types.

*************
*14. TRADING*
*************

You can trade some Pokemon between Crystal and Gold and Silver.

You need 2 Gameboy Colors or Gameboy Advances. Link them up.

Go to a Pokemon Center's second floor and talk to the receptionist. You
must have a Pokedex before trading.

You can also trade between Crystal and Yellow, Red and Blue.

You need to have the first 151 Pokemon ONLY. They must not know any GSC
exclusive moves. You need to talk to Bill in Ecruteak City first before
you get this feature working.

*************************
*15. CONSTRUCTING A TEAM*
*************************

To make a good team, you want a good Pokemon with each of these
characteristics:

A good attack and defense.
Varied moves.
Fast.

You want:

PSYCHIC with Normal Move and Dark Attack (ESPEON) with X ATTACK
FIRE/FLYING with Dragon Move (CHARIZARD or DRAGONITE) with X DEFEND
WATER/ICE with Cut and Surf and Ice Beam (FERALIGATR) with X DEFEND
GRASS/POISON TYPE with Smog, Razor Leaf, Solar Beam, Tackle (VENUSAUR)
with X ATTACK
ROCK/FIGHTING TYPE: Rock Throw, Mega Punch, Flame Wheel (GOLEM) with
LEFTOVERS
ROUNDED POKEMON: Psychic, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Recover (MEWTWO OR
SNORLAX) with LEFTOVERS

That's a good example of a well-rounded Pokemon Team with good items to
supply you with. Try to vary with different Pokemon and attacks!

******************
*16. MYSTERY GIFT*
******************

You need a GameBoy Color and a Pokemon Pikachu 2.

Build up watts with your Pokemon Pikachu 2and then use the Infrared
port to get special items. I don't know myself because I haven't tried
it- I only heard from Nintendo Power Magazine.

*******************
*17. DAY AND NIGHT*
*******************

When you adjust the time, it will be night or day. Some things are
effected:

Eevee will evolve into Espeon in the day and Umbreon in the night.
Hoot-hoot will only come out at night.
Pidgey will only come out during the day.
People say different things (Like Joy and the Pokemon Centers)
Other nocturnal Pokemon will come only at night.

MY REVIEW
---------

Nintendo has done it again! Although I don't play Pokemon that much,
this game is enjoyable. I like almost every aspect! Good job Nintendo!

Pokemon Crystal is basically an add on to the Gold and Silver Version,
kinda like what Pokemon Yellow was to red and Blue. Pokemon Crystal
takes place 3 years after Red, Blue and Yellow and follows the story of
2 young people who want to be Pokemon masters.

Pokemon are like animals with special powers, like fire and ice! They
learn to grow up like real animals do! It's really cool if you know the
previous versions!

GRAPHICS: 9
The graphics are great! For a GBC game, the animations are pretty cool
and gives way to the capabilities of GameBoy Advance! There is a lot of
detail and color for a GBC game and places like the Ice Path simply
amazed me!

AUDIO: 9
For a GBC game, it's pretty good. The sound gets a little repetative,
but no where near annoying! The battle sounds fit the mood and travel
sounds fit the mood! The sound is tinny, though, but it is no biggy.

GAMEPLAY: 9
You travel around, collecting Pokemon as you go. You fight against
other trainers to gain experience with Pokemon! There's also some
backtracking to get to new areas! I also like controlling either a boy
or girl, since what people say may differ from game to game. There's
also the real time factor, which some Pokemon only come out at night!
Cool!

PRICE: 9
For $30, it's very fair. Games like these are priceless. It's fun to
battle and trade with different people! It's a new type of concept.
Very good and affordable price! If you can't afford it save up! VERY
well worth it!

REPLAYABILITY: 9
Well, once you beat the game with a certain starter Pokemon, you can
try the game again with another starter Pokemon! Or you can play as the
boy this time! There are VERY many areas to explore, so you miss them
the first time around, but certainly you don't wanna miss them the
second or third time around.

You can also replay it if you missed out on a rare Pokemon like Lugia!

RENT OR BUY-
BUY! Go to Toys R Us and buy it right now! You want to catch them all!
Go ahead! Renting won't even be worth it!

OVERALL: 9
Get this B+/A- hybrid game. It's very well worth it. If you don't
you'll obviously miss out!
