  2. INTRODUCTION
==============================================================================

Fire Emblem is a famous series, but so far it is only released in Japan, and
never released in the US. Fire Emblem was first released on NES, the latest
one was released for SNES.

Based on Dengeki sales tracking system, the last Fire Emblem : Fuuin No Ken
(from now on I will refer to it as Fire Emblem 6 or FE6 for short), which were
released March 28, 2002 in Japan, have sold 144,820 unit by April 7, 2002.
This data was released by dengeki japan, who track sales of software in Japan.
Please note that the figure is not a complete sales, but covered more than 50%
of software sold in Japan.
Update : By April 28, 2002, it has sold 191,273 unit

I remember forgoing one night sleep for "just one more turn" syndrom this
game invoke in me. At that time, I was playing the Fire Emblem 3 for SNES.
For you who enjoy this game, please try the Advance Wars game on GBA, also by
Intelligent System and Nintendo. Advance Wars is another game that induce the
"just one more turn" syndrom in me.

You can get the _latest_ version of this FAQ at GameFAQ (refer to the top of
the FAQ for instruction). This guide is for the Japanese version of FE6. I
understand that there will be an English version of this game to be released
in USA (which is a first for this series), but I do not know when. If you
wanted to find out about the release date, you can go to either gamespot
(www.gamespot.com) or IGN (www.ign.com)

  3. MENU AND GENERAL TACTIC
==============================================================================

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3.1 MAIN MENU
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you first start the game, you will encounter the main menu. Depending
on the number of slot that you have used (there is three slot provided for
saving your game), or whether you have any in-game save (in-game save will
be automatically saved whenever you have made any move, not when you end
your turn). Since this is your first game, the first option will be only
two option. Counting from top to bottom, the menu are :
New Game
Tutorial

If you have never played the Wars series or the previous Fire Emblem series,
it is recommended that you explore this menu first, provided you can read
Japanese. If not, then this guide will help you go through it.

When you choose "New Game", you will select the slot that you wanted to use.
Choose any slot (first slot if you have no preference), then you will be
treated with the beginning of the first chapter. For chapter by chapter
information, see below.
Note : If you wanted to skip the conversation, you can press START button, and
it will skip the part (introduction, map, conversation).

If you turn down your GBA now, you will see this menu :
Continue from in-game save
Start Again
Copy Game
Delete Game
New Game
Help

If you choose start again, the next menu will let you select which slot you
wanted to start from, and if you have existing in-game save, they will ask
whether you want to delete the existing in-game save. Choose the left one to
confirm, the right one to cancel.

If you choose copy game, next menu will let you select the "from" slot, and
then you will select "to" slot.

Delete Game will let you select which slot you wanted to delete.
Depending on where you are on the game, you will have a new sub menu in the
help screen.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3.2 BATTLE MENU
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During fighting, pressing A button when cursor square in on top one of your
unit (in blue color), it enable your unit to move through movement stage. All
square in blue show the square you can move into, while the one in brown color
show square you can attack based on all weapon in your unit inventory.

After the movement phase of your unit, you will encounter the Battle Menu.
Depending on your situation, the battle menu will vary. From top to bottom,
the standard menu are :
Use item
Exchange
Finish

Use item.
There will be submenu, which change depending on the situation. Possible
option are :
Use/Equip : Can be used to change the equipped weapon or use item. If the
item selected is a weapon, then the menu is equip. If the item
selected is an item (key, treasure key, potion etc.), the the
            menu is use.
Exchange : This option appear if there is another unit directly beside you.
Use this option to change the selectec item with your neighbour.
The exchange submenu will the show up.
Discard : This is always the lowest option.

Additional menu and their trigger :

Talk
If your unit is the Lord, this function is mostly used to recruit enemy.
Usually, if a unit has a relationship with another unit, this unit will be
able to convince other unit to join. For details on how to recruit a certain
character, it can be seen in the chapter walktrough.
Example : In chapter 7, on turn two, there will be two neutral unit. If Roy
managed to talk to one of the unit, the unit will belong to you and you can
start directing their movement. If your newly recruited unit talk to the
other neutral unit which is his friend (show together or have conversation),
he will convince the other unit to also join your company.
Another example : In chapter 5, on turn ??, there will be a neutral unit
(torubadour) that was released by an enemy myrmidon unit (notice the picture
in the conversation before the release). This neutral unit will try to
approach Roy, and have conversation with him. Once she talk to him, then she
become your unit. Two turn after that, the person that release the torubadour
will appear on the map and fight you as enemy unit. If you move the
torubadour to a square adjacent to the enemy, she can talk to him, and
recruit him to your party.
Hint : If enemy unit (other than boss) has a portrait and name, instead of
generic name, usually it mean it can be recruited. You just need to find the
right person to recruit that character/unit.

Steal
Can only be done by thief unit when they are adjacent to enemy unit, and the
enemy unit has inventory that is neither weapon, book, staff.
Example : In Chapter 7, there will be an enemy unit (dragon rider) that has
extra item, an gem that can be sold for 3000. If you put your thief beside
the enemy unit, he can steal the gem. Of course, you has to finish the enemy
on the same turn, otherwise during the enemy turn, the dragon rider will
attack your thief and most probably kill him, since thief is one of the
weakest class.

Open Door
Can only be done by thief that still has remaining lockpick or other class
that has the key (see item list for more information). If thief that has
lockpick and key wanted to use the key, he/she will have to use the "use
item" menu, since this menu automatically use the lockpick. Key is key that
has only one maximum usage.

Open Chest
Can only be done by thief that still has remaining lockpick or other class
that has the treasure key (see item list for more information). If thief
that has lockpick and treasure key wanted to use the treasure key, he/she
will have to use the "use item" menu. Treasure key is key that have five
maximum usage.

Friendship/Support
This can be done by certain unit, usually unit that is of the same class and
has different opposite type (water and fire, for example). If the two unit
have "friendship capability", then this menu will appear when the units are
side-by-side.
Friendship or support will show up if the two unit have worked together to
kill same enemy. I am still not sure how much enemy have to be killed before
the friendship menu started to show up.
Example : your first two knight, Alan and Rand, have special relationship.
Starting from chapter 3 ??, you can have "support" between the two. After
choosing this menu, there will be the name of the friend in the "weapon and
support level", together with the support level (always start from C).
If you wanted to know who wanted to support which, see the "unit list", go
to page 6, and anyone who wanted to support other will show up on this page.
Based on my experience, I will also write down on the character list who
character can have relationship with that character.

Explore/Ask
This will happen when you are in the square that denote open fence village.
Using this option will trigger an conversation with the resident of the
village, and usually you will get money or item. This option will also appear
when you are in the house (house is singgle square, while village is usually
4 square or 2x2), but I never notice anything different/unusual.

Caravan
This option will show up when your character stop in a square directly next
to caravan. Choosing this will show another set of menu :
Keep in Caravan : choose your character item, and it will be saved into
                  the caravan
Take from Caravan : to get item from Caravan into your character inventory.
Drop item : to drop an item from the caravan. Use this option carefully.
Otherwise you may drop an important item unintentionally.

Occupy throne
Usually, every chapter will have the purpose of killing the boss. After you
kill the boss, Roy (no other unit have this option) can go to the square
that were occupied by the boss, and this option will show up. Choosing this
option will end the chapter, and start any post chapter conversation.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3.3 FIELD MENU
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you press A in empty square (none of the character, either yours or
enemies', is in this square), or you press A on your character that has
finished his move in the turn (this unit will turn grey), the Field Menu will
show up.
There is always five options in this menu, which are :
Army List
Condition
Configuration
Save
End Turn

Army List : Using this menu, it will show up all of the character that is in
the current map. There are six screens, with the following names and column
translation :
1. Importance Data : Name, Class, Level, Experience, Hit Point, Maximum Hit
         Point
2. Fighting Skill : Name, Strength, Skill, Speed, Luck, Defense, Magic
         Defense
3. Equipment Data : Name, Equipped Weapon, Attack, % Hit, % Evade.
4. Personal Data : Name, Movement, Constitution, Rescue, Friend, Condition.
5. Weapon Level : Name, Sword, Spear, Axe, Bow, Magic, Light, Dark, Staff.
6. Support Chance : Name, Support 1, Support 2, Support 3
For explanation of the above mentioned attribute, please see 3.5 Unit
Statistic Explained.

Condition :
In this screen, at the top is the chapter number and name (title).
Right under the title, on the left is the purpose of the map (which generally
is occupy the throne), on the right, the first row is the turn (started from
number 1) and the second row is your financial status (how much money/G you
have in your bank :-))
Below that, there is two row, first row show how many unit you have and the
leader name (which is Roy), while the second row show how many unit the enemy
have and the leader name (boss name).
Below that, there is the timer, which keep track of how long you have played
this game.

Configuration :
There are many menu in this screen. It is suggested not to change the
configuration except for animation setup. From top to bottom :
Animation : 1 (Animate, without background), 2 (Animate with background), No
Animation, No Animation (not sure the difference between third
            option and fourth option).

BGM : Yes or No (for background music)
Key Sound : Yes or No (for giving sound when any key were pressed)
Color : 1, 2, 3, 4 (for changing color of menu etc).

Save :
This option enable you to save the game and return to the main menu. Choosing
this option show a selection : yes (left) and no/cancel (right).

End Turn :
Use this option if you have not move all of your unit, but you wanted to end
your turn. If you have moved all of your unit, your turn will automatically
end.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3.4 PARTY MANAGEMENT MENU
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Starting from chapter six, you will get a new menu : party management menu.
Options in this menu are :
Choose characters : press A to select/deselect a character. Please note that
there is a limit of number of character you can bring to a chapter, which
will change from chapter to chapter. On the upper right corner, there is a
number/number. First number is remaining character (empty slot), which the
right one is total character you can bring.
Inventory manage : When you select a character using A button, another menu
will show up, in which you can :
     * barter
     * drop
     * caravan (put into, out of, drop)
     * search for an item (in other character or caravan)
     * go to shop (with higher price compared to shop on the chapter)
Augury : This option will only show up starting from chapter 12 Gaiden. Not
sure what this menu does. Any help/information is welcomed.
Save the game : Self explanatory enough.
Change the position of the character in the map : Select a character with A,
and choose the other character with A, and you will swap the position of
the two character. You can not change Roy starting position. To finish
with these function, press A in empty space, and press A again.
Start the game : Choose this last option to start the game.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3.5 UNIT STATISTIC EXPLANATION
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name : The name of the characters
Class : There are many type of basic class, together with their upgraded
        class.
Level : Starting from 1, to a maximum of 20. If your class can be upgraded,
using the correct upgrade item, you can upgrade once you were on
level 10 or higher. But it is better if you wait until level 20
before you upgrade. Benefit : Your attribute will be higher, since
every level increase gave a possibility of your attribute increase.
Attribute that can increase during level increase is Max HP,
Strength, Skill, Speed, Luck, Defense, Magic Defense.
Experience : Once you fight with enemy (either they attack you or you attack
them, you will get experience. Once your experience reach 100, it will
reset to zero, and your level will increase by one. The experience you
will get follow this rule :
        A. If you reached level 20, you will not get any experience increase.
        B. If you do not hit them (either because they are out of your weapon
range, or because you miss, or because your hit is "no damage"),
then you will get 1 experience
        C. If you hit them, but do not kill the enemy unit, you will get
(their level - your level)/2 + 10. This means if your level is
higher than enemy, you will receive less than 10 exp. But if your
level is lower than the enemy, you will receive more than 10 exp.
For advance class, the formula is complicated by the fact that not
every upgraded class is treated the same. Once I found out how the
upgraded class is considered, I will put it here.
        D. If you hit the, and kill the enemy unit, you will get
(their level - your level)/2 + 30. This means if your level is
higher than enemy, you will receive less than 30 exp. But if your
level is lower than the enemy, you will receive more than 30 exp.
For advance class, the formula is complicated by the fact that not
every upgraded class is treated the same. Once I found out how the
upgraded class is considered, I will put it here.
Hit Point : Your character current Hit Point. As your character receive injury
from the battle, their HP will go lower. To increase the HP, you can
use potion in your inventory (through item menu) or if you have
healer, you use their healing staff to cure.
Maximum Hit Point : This is the maximum amount of Hit Point. Whenever you
heal, you can not exceed this value. Example : Your HP is 20, and your
MHP is 29. If you use a potion, which will recover 10 HP, you HP
should be 30. But since 30 is bigger than your MHP, which is 29, your
HP will not become 30, but become 29 instead.
Strength : This will affect the damage you inflict to your enemy.
Skill : This will be used to calculate the %hit.
Speed : This will affect whether you will hit enemy once or twice, and also
whether your enemy will attack once or twice. If the speed difference
is 4 or higher, then the higher speed unit will attack twice. If you
are using a weapon that have higher weight than your constitution, then
your speed for calculating the number of attack will be affected.
Example : enemy speed is 12. Your speed is 16. You should be attacking
twice, while your enemy attack only once. But since you are using a
weapon that have 12 weight, while your constitution is only 10, then
        your speed will be considered as 14 ( 16 - (12 - 10). This does not
mean that if you are using a weapon that have lower weight value
compared to your constituion, you will have an increased speed.
Luck : This will also affect the calculation of the % hit.
Defense : This will affect how many damage you will receive from enemy attack
        that is not magic based.
Magic Defense : This will affect how many damage you will receive from enemy
        attack that is magic based.
Movement : How much you can move in one turn. Please note that some square
need more than one movement for a certain unit. If there is special
treatment, I will not it in their own chapter walkthrough. For more
information on terrain and their movement cost, please see
        5.5 Terrain List.
Constitution : This is your capability of wielding weapon. Try to avoid using
weapon that has higher weight compared to your character constitution
since it will make your % evade value lower (see below for more
        detailed explanation).
Rescue : This is a value that specified your rescue capacity. You can rescue
a unit that have same or lower constitution value compared to your
rescue value. If the unit have higher value in constitution compared
to your rescue value, you can not rescue that unit. Please note that
during rescue, your skill & speed will halved (and rounded down), to
reflect the fact that it is much harder to fight when you are lugging
another unit. The benefit of a unit that was rescued is that they
        will not sustain any damage.
Friend : This value will only be filled when you are in rescue mode. The
value in this field is the name of the unit that you are rescuing.
Condition : This value will only be filled if you are affected by special
condition (like poisoned, silenced, confused). There will be an
explanation of the situatio (in Japanese of course) and the number
of turn this condition will dissapear.
Equipped weapon : Self explanatory.
Attack : Derived from the following formula :
Strength (from character stat) + Sharpness (from weapon stat)
        + Support bonus (cumulative)
% Hit : From the following formula :
        Hit (weapon stat) + 2 * Skill + Luck /2 + Support Bonus (cumulative)
% Evade : From the following formula :
        2 * Speed + Luck - (Weight - Constitution) * 2 + Support Bonus (cum)
If your weapon weight does not exceed your constitution, then the
value used in the calculation is zero (not minus).
Critical / Deadly : From the following formula :
        Skill / 2
This statistic show how probable for you to do "deadly attack". In
deadly attack, your attack damage will be tripled. So if your
standard damage is 10, a "deadly attack" will give 30 damage.
Weapon Level : Each character, depending on their type, will have proficiency
in a certain type of weapon (for fighter type) or book/staff (for
magic type). If you do not have any proficiency in that type of
weapon / magic (denoted by "-"), you will not be able to use it. If
your proficiency level is lower than the weapon level requirement,
then you are also not able to use the weapon. Example : All legendary
weapon have level requirement of S, so if your level is lower than S,
then you will not be able to use the legendary weapon. Level from
        lowest to highest : E - D - C - B - A - S. Please note that for basic
class, your highest level of skill is A. Only upgraded class can have
skill level of S. If you wanted to increase your skill in a certain
weapon type, you need to use the weapon during fight with your enemy.
There is a progress bar in each weapon, so you will know when you are
nearing weapon level increase (when the bar is full to the right).
Support : You will have a maximum of 4 friend that can support you, and give
you bonuses in attack, % Hit, % Evade and Critical (Deadly). Level of
support will increase from C to B to A (highest). I am still not sure
how you can increase the support, but usually I paired the couple and
have fight the same unit (usually the boss unit). Once they can do
support (or increase their support level), it will show up in the menu
when they are standing side by side or in the "Army List" menu,
        support chance screen.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3.6 GENERAL TACTIC
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Try to conserve your good weapon for fight against difficult enemy (high
level, high armor). Otherwise, use an iron weapon, which have a high hit
value. An exception to this tactic is the pegassi unit, which have a very
low constitution, so it is suggested you use the "hosomi" type of spear and
sword. In my opinion, steel weapon is pretty much useless in the game.
- As much as possible, use a weapon that have a lower weight compared to your
constitution. This will make your % evade maximum, and you will have less
chance of sustaining any damage. It will also maximize your speed, since
you will not suffer a speed penalty (weight - constitution).
- When you wanted to fight, please consider the weapon you use (especially for
paladin class, which can use sword, spear and axe). Use the following chart

  4. CHAPTER WALKTROUGH
==============================================================================

Since I started to write this walkthrough when I am in chapter 8, the complete
information is available from chapter 8.
Once I finished the Fire Emblem, I will go back and start it from Chapter 1.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4.1 CHAPTER ONE
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Prologue :
There is Kingdom of Etruria in the west, Kingdom of Bern in the east, League
of Lycia in the south, Ilia in the north. Sacae between Bern and Ilia. King of
Bern (Berun in Japan) attack other countries. Roy will travel from Pherae to
Ostia.

In this chapter, you will start from the lower left part of the map. You will
have six starting unit, Roy (Lord), two Social Knight, 1 Armor Knight, 1
Archer, and 1 Paladin. For details, please see Character List in the Appendix
below.

I suggest you to not use Paladin, except when fighting the boss. If you feel
brave, you can attack the boss using other unit, like the archer. Remember,
for social knight, since the boss weapon is axe, it is better to use the
sword, which is strong against axe.

In the village on the south west map (since there is only one village, you
will not miss it) you will get 5,000 G.

From now on, every time I mention a boss, they will have the following :
Class, Level, HP, Strength, Skill, Speed, Luck, Defense, Magic Defense,
Movement, Constitution, Help. I will also write down their weapon.

Boss :
Fighter, Level 5, 28, 9, 5, 6, 0, 4, 0, 5, 11, 10.
Steel Axe.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4.2 CHAPTER TWO
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At the beginning of this chapter, you will have two additional unit, one of
which is a caravan, while the other unit is an priest. Using caravan, you can
store your excess weapon. The priest, as in most RPG, can heal other unit,
through healing staff.

There is a weapon shop (look like a small castle), above the village, and an
item shop (house with red roof), below the village. If you can, memorize the
building type so when you enter a new chapter, you can quickly see where the
weapon shop and item shop is located. Or you can also rely on this
walkthrough, since I will mention every shop in the each chapter.

In the village, you can get Amachra Sword, which is critical against Armor
Knight. The best target for this weapon is the boss, which coincidentally (or
maybe not coincidentally, since I can not read the conversation) is an Armor
Knight.

Weapon Shop :
Iron Sword
Iron Spear
Hand Spear
Iron Bow

Item Shop :
Potion

For details of the weapon and item, see their respective list in the appendix
below.

Please note that there are four "fort", which has a defense of 2 and avoid of
20. You can use this place to heal. Do not fight enemy that is on this
square, since it will be much harder for you to hit them and they will also
be healed every turn, like the throne.

On turn two, you will get four new unit : two fighter, one mercenary and one
Pegassi. Please note that when any unit using bow weapon attack a flying unit
(Pegassi or Dragon), each hit will be "Deadly", which mean it will be three
time normal damage. Usually, it means the unit will be killed. So be careful.

Boss :
Armor Knight, Level 5, 24, 10, 2, 2, 0, 10, 0, 4, 13, 12

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4.3 CHAPTER THREE
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this chapter, you will have one new unit at the beginning, a thief unit. A
thief unit, with their lock pick item, can open both door and chest.

In the village north west part of map, you can recruit a new unit, magician.
It is strongly suggested that you do not forget to recruit this unit.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4.4 CHAPTER FOUR
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the middle of the game, there will be a torubadour (like priest, but on
horse) escaping from the enemy castle. She will automatically approach Roy,
and after conversation, she will become one of your unit.

When you are close enough to the enemy castle, there will be some new unit
that will pour from the castle. One of the, a myrmidon unit, will have a
portrait. To recruit this person, use your newly recruited torubadour to
talk with him.

Enemy reinforcement will come from the souther part of the map, where there
is two "fort". Enemy reinforcement type is Bandit.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Select character that you want to bring
Manage inventory, including purchase from store for basic needs

In this chapter, you will get 5 (count them five) new unit. If only I can
recruit the thief that keep on showing up (in chapter six), then I will have
six new unit.

You will get Astor (thief) with you at the start of the chapter, and Ririna
(magician) in the jail, in the middle of the map. If you wanted to save
Ririna, which I strongly suggest, you do the following :
Turn 1 : Move Ririna West 1 square
Turn 2 : Move Ririna East 1 square (back to her original position)

On turn 5 ??, there will be three new unit showing up on the north west part
of the map. Since this room is closed, these unit will not be useful, right ?
No, you are wrong. If you look carefully, there is a wall unit with crack on
it. Using a weapon (any weapon will do), you can hit the wall and the wall
will crumble (when it HP reach zero), opening a way for your unit to
participate in the fight. If you look carefully, you will also notice that one
of the wall in Ririna Jail room is also cracked, but since Ririna does not
have any weapon, she can not break the wall and escape.

On end of turn 11, there will be two thief showing up as neutral enemy unit
(red), one of them is the thief you encounter on previous chapter (chapter 6),
while the second thief is a basic thief unit (has no picture). On end-of-turn
13, the basic thief will open the door of Ririna jail, on end-of-turn 14,
Portrait Thief will open the door to the eastern treasure room through eastern
door. So you have to make sure that your unit will have entered the eastern
room through western door by turn 13, and start blocking the eastern entrance.
Use Roy to talk to the portrait thief, and you can recruit him in chapter 12.
If you wanted to, you can steal the lockpick that these thief have.

On turn 5, there will be new enemies (archers) coming form south east part of
the map. You can recruit one of the enemy unit (sniper) by talking to him
with Roy. This character has a pearl, that can be sold for 10,000 G. Once you
recruited this character, the rest of his group become neutral and will
escape the map through the north east part map (near throne).

On turn 6, the enemy will sent two unit of Mountain, who will start destroying
houses by end of turn 7, so you need to get unit into area near the cave
opening (there is two of them on the eastern part of the map).

On turn 7, there will be new enemy (pegassus units) coming from north west
part of map. One of the unit can be recruited by talking to him with newly
recruited sniper character.

On turn 8, there will be enemy reinforcement showing up in the middle of the
map, between village 5 and the village above it. There is one unit (hero),
which you can recruit using the dancer. I think that the three unit is trying
to capture the hero unit.

Once you or neutral unit closed on the throne, there will enemy reinforcement
of 7 social knight, appearing from north west map, like the pegassus units.

Starting from turn 12, there will be one bandit pouring from the each cave,

on turn 14 in the chapter 12.

There are many, many chest in this area, and there are three thief that are
stealing the content, so you need to becareful here. You need to position
some unit on the entrance (thief is much better, since they have 10 square
seeing range, while other unit only have 5 square. Use the steal option to
steal item that any thief has stolen (in turn 1, one of the toko potion is
taken by one of the thief, and you could not prevent this), before you kill
them (if you wanted the experience).

Please note there are some holes in the wall that will sprout toxic fumes.
If your unit happen to be in the path of the fumes, they will get poisoned.
If that happen (poisoned), you can use the antidote that you can get from
the chest, or you can just wait it out if you have sufficient HP (5 turn,
each turn gave 2-4 damage).

otherwise the paladin will dissapear.

On turn 9, there is enemy reinforcement showing up on the north west part of
map. They are : 1 paladin, 5 social knight, 1 torubadour.

When you start the chapter, this is the boss you will see
Boss 1 (Neutral):

You will get two new unit at the start of the chapter (these two are the
prisoners that you release in the previous chapter), one is valkyrie and the

This map consist of desert, which slow movement. My understanding of new
movement rate is as follows :
On horses (social knight, paladin etc) : Movement / 3, rounded down

On foot, spellcaster type (Mage, Priest etc) : Movement / 1
On flying steed (Pegassi, Dragon) : Movement / 1

On turn 8, there will be new enemy showing up from south west part. 2 with
portrait, 8 without.

If you wanted to go to chapter Fourteen gaiden, you have to occupy the throne
on or before turn 25. By turn 26, the storm will clear (fog of war will not
apply anymore). If this event happened, it means you will NOT go to chapter
Fourteen Gaiden.

Treasure :

Boots ??
Staff ??
Feather ??
Silver card ??
Silence staff ??
Warp Staff ??
Magic defense up ??
Guidance Ring (by sophia, near the throne entry).

The treasure will show up randomly, but in a fix area. The most important item
is the silver card, which give you 50% discount on your purchase on any store
(including the secret store you will encounter on chapter 16 and chapter 21).
The silver card is positioned near the skull on the north west part of the map.
Try to get this silver card, since it will enable you to purchase all the
statistic enhancing item in chapter 21 secret store.

  4.17 CHAPTER FOURTEEN GAIDEN :
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this chapter, you will have a disappearing and appearing platform/square.
When the square disappear, and if there is no ice square in the four
direction, your non-flying unit will be stuck in the square. For this map, I
strongly recommend you to bring all your flying unit : 2 Pegassi and 1 Dragon.
If any of your unit become stuck, you just use your flying unit to rescue it,
and put it in a safe place (area around throne or the four corner of the map).
Do not afraid that your unit will drown if you do not rescue it directly. I
have one of my unit standing on the water spot for more than one turn, and it
did not drown. But I am not sure whether it can stand more than two turn. If
any of you have information regarding this, it is welcomed. I will also check
it out when I have finished the standard mode.

Please becareful, there are many strong magic user in this map, and there is
magic book that can attack in the 10+Magic area (the one that the boss and
his subordinate have). If you have any unit that is weak in magic defense, it
is recommended that you leave him on the starting point (north west of map),
and wait until the magic book is used up (each have 5 use, and even if it
missed you, it still considered as used).

Boss :
Upgraded Mage, Level 10, 35, 17, 16, 15, 7, 10, 14, 6, 7, 6

You will get one new Sniper unit at the beginning of this chapter.

On turn 4, there will one new enemy unit showing up. This unit you can recruit
using Ririna

After turn 12, there will be enemy reinforcement. They show up from the two

continuously show up for 4 turn.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4.19 CHAPTER SIXTEEN :
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is suggested that you bring one of the thief along, since in this chapter,
there are many item that you can steal from the enemy.

Secret Item shop (need "golden card" that the recruitable magic user have). On
the North West part of map, on turn 2, there will be a dragon knight that will
sit on a certain square, and a breakable wall. You have to break the wall,
kill or recruit the dragon knight (using your dragon knight, Miredei). On this
square (which is not different than any other square), you will get a new
menu, "secret shop". This shop sell :

Staff (B, 1-Magic,3) Teleport

The chest on the eastern side contain :
5000 G
Book (A,3-10,10,12,70,0,5)
Magic Shield Staff
Rest Staff

Boss :
, Dragon Upgraded, Level 10, 46, 16, 13, 16, 13, 20, 12, 8, 11, 14
Sword (A,1-2,11,12,60,0,15), Item ??, Green Sphere.

If you did not kill the general unit with portrait, you can recruit him in
chapter Sixteen Gaiden. There are many way to avoid killing this general, but
the one I used is as follows : I make all my unit go around (either clockwise
or counter-clockwise, depending on where the general is pursuing me from). I
pick up / rescue all my unit that walking slowly (5 or lest), and I try not to
run to far ahead of the general since then he will turn around and pursue me
from the other direction (I think the AI will calculate the closest enemy, and
the General will run toward that enemy). The advantage of this method is :
You get to purchase the item in the shop without any hindrance (and get to
promote your unit that you bring along in this chapter using the newly
purchased promotion item) and can get to kill the boss slowly. The
disadvantage is you need to keep on running.
The other way is to station two of you character that have the highest defense
and stationed them in front of the door to the throne. Strip those characters
of any weapon, so when the general attack them, they will not attack back.
After that, station the healer near them, and whenever the general hit any
character, you heall that character again. But you will need character that
have high defense (more than 15 at least, otherwise you may get a "deadly" hit
and died from the hit. High speed will also help, so you will get hit more
than once a turn. You also need spare healing staff, which you should purchase
from the previous chapter.

  4.20 CHAPTER SIXTEEN GAIDEN :
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This chapter has a "shooting star" that can damage all unit in their path. The
shooting start will rain from north to south, in a one column width. If you
noticed the pillars in this map, some of them have blue vein. The column this
blue pillar were, together with one column on its left and one column in its
right will be the ones that have possibility of shooting star traveling down
the column.

The boss in this level has a staff (3 charge) that can cause confusion, with
100 accuracy. Your unit that is confused (5 round) will be attacking your
other unit, and I have not been able to cure them of the confusion. One way to
minimize the effect of confusion is remove the item that can be used to
attack (swap it with other character if necessary). Since I upgraded all my
mage and priest using the newly purchased Guidance ring (see previous chapter
for detailed information), I left the only the healing staff on my magic
wielding unit, and let them be confused. Thank God that this staff has only
3 charge.

  4.21 CHAPTER SEVENTEEN :
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was rumoured (I have not confirmed yet) that chapter 17 have two branch, A
branch and B branch. Depending on whether your pegassus character or your
nomads character have a higher level, you will branch to different one.
In my game, my nomads unit have higher levels than the pegassus. When I play
the game again, I will try to have a higher levels of pegassus, and see
whether the branches are true or just rumour.

This chapter is "night mission", with fog of war.

Remark : Beginning unit since chapter 1. Suggest that you do not use this
unit unless it can not be avoided (like in chapter 7). The reason is that
Paladin unit, which is an upgraded class from Social Knight, will only gain
very minimum experience, since it is considered very high in level (level 1
Paladin can be the same as level 21 of Social Knight). Use it when you need
a door stopper. Better door stopper is the Armor Knigh class.

  7. SPECIAL THANKS
==============================================================================

Thanks to Chris MacDonald, aka Kao Megure, whose template for FFVII I use for
my FAQ.
Also thanks to my friend, Antonny Liem, for helping me to translate the game
into English language. He is the one that can speak and read japanese, while I
am only familiar with the Kanji (Chinese) language.
