=============================================================================
1. Intro and Contact

  Arc the Lad was released originally in Japan in 1995. Over the years it's
evolved into one of the best series' in Japan, and last year in 2001, Working
Designs worked out a deal so that they could translate and release the game
series here in America. Many delays later, the game is finally here, and it
was well worth the wait.

Contacting the author(that's me): If you need to get in touch with me for
  some reason about the guide, please feel free to do so using the email
  address listed above. However, before you send the email, there are a few
  things you go make sure of to make my life easier. And, if you make my
  life easier, I'll be more likely to respond sooner.
  1. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure there is a subject line to the email.
     There is far too much spam and viruses that are distributed through
     email, and unless there is a clear subject line, your email will be
     automatically deleted. Does this mean you have to write the body of the
     email in the subject line? No. Just put something like Arc the Lad
     question or Arc the Lad, or something like that in the subject so I know
     it's not malicious.
  2. On the same note, email over 20k is also deleted automatically. Again
     for the same reasons as listed above. I haven't seen any legitimate
     questions over 1-5 k big, so that shouldn't be a problem.
  3. Please check to see whether your question is already answered in this
     guide.
  4. If you point out something I screwed up on(which I do, on occasion),
     that's great. If I've been to vague or loose in directions making it
     hard to read/understand, let me know.
  5. I'm sorry, but I will not take screen shots and/or make movies of what
     to do in the game. That requires way too much work on my end.
  6. If you're a webmaster that would like to post this guide on your site,
     for now my answer will be no. I want to get the guide as complete as
     possible before I start to let sites other than GameFAQs host it. Why?
     For the simple reason that in the past, I've had a hard time getting
     sites other than GameFAQs to update the guides when I sent them the
     updates. I know this is unfair as there are several sites that do
     actually maintain regular updates, but that's the way it goes.

=============================================================================
2. Game Package

  Like all Working Designs packages, the game comes with some pretty cool
stuff. Here's an inventory of what you get:

- 6 CD's. 5 of them are the game discs (Arc III is on 2 discs) and you also
  get 1 Making of disc in the package.

- An instruction manual that contains directions for all of the games, it's
  got a hard leatherette cover on it and the pages are printed on glossy
  paper, which is the really high quality stuff (put it this way, if you
  wanted to buy paper like that for your home computer printer, it'd cost
  about $1 a page, maybe even more).

- A black omake case that has a small magnet in it to keep it closed (so the
  contents don't go spilling out) that contains:
  - A PS1/PS2 memory card holder. It only fits the ones that are made by
    Sony or that conform to those size standards.
  - 4 Analog Controller caps. Little things that go on top of the Analog
    sticks.
  - 22 Character Standees. They're pretty neat, each has a different
    character picture on top, and the game they're from and their name
    written on the bottom.
  - Instructions on how to use the caps and standees. In case it's too hard
    for you to figure out.

- An Arc the Lad Character Watch. You only get this if you preordered the
  game and it's not included in the package, you get it directly from the
  software distributor.

  Well, that's all that it comes with. If you're dissapointed that there
isn't more, well, be glad you got what you got. Hell, it's not like Square
gave anything extra/special when they brought the PSx versions of Chrono
Trigger/Final Fantasy IV, V, VI over.

=============================================================================
3. Arc the Lad

Section Progress: Section pretty much done. Fixed a couple spelling glitches
  that were found. Added in a few more easy to miss accessories. Added in
  the "Black Tournament" in Niedel.

Note to Playstation 2 owners: Do not run this game with the Texture Mapping
  option set to Smooth, that will cause graphical glitches rather than make
  the graphics better. However, setting the disc read speed to fast will
  remove the few second load times from the game.

3-A. Game Basics

  This game plays very much like other strategy RPGs like Vandal Hearts,
Final Fantasy Tactics, and Ogre Battle(to name a few). However, there are a
few differences.

- Be shure to read all of the information tips Chopin (the guy at the sky
  stations) has for you. They've got some really useful info in them

- At the beginning of the battle, one of your characters will prompt you to
  ask whether you really want to fight now or not. Take notice that this is
  going to be the only chance you're going to have to run away.

- When it's time for one of your characters turns, you will be able to move
  them around with the D-Pad and/or Left Analog Stick. You move the
  character around just as though you were moving them in a normal walking
  around area, but with the slight difference that you have a limited amount
  of space to move them around in. You get to increase the amount of space
  you can move over time through levels. Also, some characters can move more
  than other characters, for example Kukuru can usually move 1 block further
  than Arc can.

- When you're highlighted on a character, you can press Start to bring up
  their status screen. You can see what skills they have and change their
  equipment.

- You can hit R1 and L1 at the same time when a character is highlighted
  (in the time you're allowed to let them walk around) to be able to move
  the cursor around and see what you're up against.

- Press R1 and move the D-Pad/Left Anolog Stick in a direction and your
  character will face in that direction.

- You cannot walk through any enemies or even other players on your side.
  This is both good and bad. It's bad obviously because it limits your
  movement, but it can prove to be useful if there are a lot of enemies
  around. You can navigate to a narrow place and form a wall with your
  characters, thus reducing the number of enemies that can attack you as they
  end their turn when they attack. Watch out for Flying enemies though, they
  don't seem to have any movement restrictions that I know of. If you want
  to move past another character, you need to wait for your Jump rating to go
  up a few levels. You'll then be able to jump over an enemy and/or player.
  Just take note that if you want to jump over the enemy/character, you need
  to move in a straight line and hold the direction you want to move in down
  in order to make sure you jump over them. No diagonal jumping I'm afraid.

- You need a jump level of 1 to jump over misc. objects that appear on the
  floor (that can be jumped over) and a jump rating of 2 to be able to jump
  over other players/enemies.

- To attack an enemy you have to move next to them and then face them by
  pressing the D-Pad/Analog in the direction of the enemy and then pressing
  the X button on the controller. This will automatically end your turn, so
  make sure you've done all the moving around you're going to do before you
  choose to attack. In the case of multiple enemies, you will only attack
  the enemy you're facing.

- If you are face to face with an enemy, you will have a higher chance to
  dodge/block their attack as well as have a higher chance of counter
  attacking after they attack. This works both ways, so when you attack the
  enemy, try to be on the side of them or behind them.

- If you don't want to attack(or can't), just move around, or not do anything
  on your turn, press the Triangle button on the controller. This will bring
  up a prompt for you to end your turn. If you're worried about ending
  everyone's turn and letting the enemies get a double turn, don't be. The
  only turn that ends when you do this is the one for the character you're
  controlling at the time.

- To use an Item in battle, press the Square button. This will bring up a
  box showing all of the items you have in your possession. To use an item,
  move over to it with the D-Pad/Analog to highlight it and press X to select
  the item. Then you can select who you want to use the item with. Take
  note that many items have limited ranges and some items that are used to
  deal damage to enemies can only be thrown in the 4 Cardinal directions. To
  cancel the item using process, press Triangle at any point and you'll be
  taken back to the previous option.

- To use Magic in battle, press the Circle button. You will then be shown a
  ring of all the magic you currently have learned. Use the D-Pad/Analog to
  move around the ring and select the magic you want to use, taking note that
  Healing and Defensive Magic will show you a grid of what will be effected
  by them. If you want multiple people to be effected by the Magic, you have
  to make sure you're standing next to them for them to be effected. Some
  Healing magic has a larger area effect(meaning it will hit more than just
  right next to the character casting it), which is easier to target. Make
  sure you look at the range of the spell before you cast, since once you
  press X to select the magic, it's automatically casted.

- In the case of Offensive magic, you will still be able to see the range of
  the skill when it's highlighted, but you won't cast it automatically, you
  will be instead prompted to choose a target. If there is an enemy in range
  it will automatically selected. You can then select a different monster if
  you want to or use this opportunity to move the cursor around and examine
  the area more(which is a good idea). When you've got your enemy targeted,
  press X again to cast the spell. You can press Triangle at any point
  before casting it to cancel the process. Offensive skills hit the enemy
  only, so if one of your players is within the effect area of a skill, they
  won't take damage from it.

- All magic has an Area of Effect. What this is, is the number of squares
  that will be affected by the spell. For example, if a spell has an Area
  of Effect of 3, it will hit the square that is targeted, plus 2 squares
  above, below, left, and right of it. Here are a few drawings of what I'm
  talking about in case you're still confused.
    Area of Area of Area of Area of Area of
    Effect 1     Effect 2    Effect 3     Effect 4          Effect 5
       X            X            X            X                 X
                   XXX          XXX          XXX               XXX
                    X          XXXXX        XXXXX             XXXXX
                                XXX        XXXXXXX           XXXXXXX
                                 X          XXXXX           XXXXXXXXX
                                             XXX             XXXXXXX
                                              X               XXXXX
                                                               XXX
                                                                X
  Also, there are Line Effects, which are spells that will only effect a
  line of enemies. The line will go in the direction you were facing when
  you cast the spell, so if you want to change the direction of the spell
  without moving, press R1 and move the controller in the direction you wish
  to face, then select the magic.

- As far as Range is concerned, it's similar to Area of Effect, only what was
  an Area Effect of 5, is where you could move/target with a Range of 4. Am
  I making any sense? If so, good. If not, here are a few more drawings to
  try and help illustrate my point where X is where you could move/target and
  C is the character's position:
    Range 0      Range 1     Range 2      Range 3           Range 4
       C            X            X            X                 X
                   XCX          XXX          XXX               XXX
                    X          XXCXX        XXXXX             XXXXX
                                XXX        XXXCXXX           XXXXXXX
                                 X          XXXXX           XXXXCXXXX
                                             XXX             XXXXXXX
                                              X               XXXXX
                                                               XXX
                                                                X

- To open chests, attack them with either your normal attack or an item(i.e.
  Stone), or use magic. Basically, you just have to damage the thing.

- Every level rewuires 50 more exp points than the previous level required to
  get.  Basically, level 2 required 50, level 3 requires 100, level 4 150,
  etc. I know what yo're thinking, levels must be a cinch, right? Well,
  sort of. Every time you gain a level, your exp is reset to 0, meaning you
  have to gain a fresh 100 for level 3 once you get the 50 needed for level
  2. It's still fairly easy to gain levels though.

- After Battle, your HP/MP will automatically be restored.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
3-B. Walkthrough

  A note on the Battle Maps: These are drawn in ASCII, so the vertical will
look bigger than the horizontal, but in reality, it isn't. The game uses
squares for each space you can move, and I've measured them out and drawn
them out, so the maps are accurate representations of the actual in-game
battle grounds.
Universal Map Key:

::Arc's House
  After some scenes, you'll be in control. First, hit X on the chest to get
the Sword and Armor. On the left side of the wall, examine the top of the 3
chests for an herb, then gow down and talk to Mother for a Kaiser Glove,
Energy Fruit, Revival Tonic, and Sacred Water, then check the stove for a
stone(don't ask, just do it). When you've got everything, leave for a bunch
of scenes.

::Guardian Peak
  When all that's over, you're in your first battle against a couple green
goo things... Well, anyways, equip the Kaiser Glove Mother gave you. This
battle is really easy, the enemies all die in one hit, so just deal with them
and don't forget the chest with an Energy Fruit in it. After the battle,
there will be a few more scenes. If you want some early exp, you can let the
slimes split and then kill them all, each will give you their full exp, not
a divided sum.

  More scenes, then another fight(notice a pattern yet?). Kukuru joins you
here. The first thing you should do is move Kukuru back to be in line with
Arc and Poco, she'll die too quickly if you leave her out there on her own.
Once she's back, proceed with the killing. The two bad guys that you haven't

  After a few scenes, you'll be free to walk around. Too bad there's nothing

::Millmana Map
  You now have your choice of where to go. I recommend gaining a few levels
in the Nicarus Forest before going on to the harder areas. I was level 9
when I did the Forest and 11 when I did the Marsh. None of the areas are
really hard if you play it safe and don't get overexcited. To get the
treasure chests that seem unreachable, simply throw a rock at them(use them
as an item).
Battle Maps for Nicarus Forest, Ruvag Woods, and Sembara Marsh can be found
  in the Recurring Battle Maps section.

  Once both areas are complete, go back to HQ.

  Watch the scenes.

::Toyoke Forest
  After a brief scene, you guessed it! Battle time. This one is quite
annoying in the fact that you have a lot of ground you've got to cover. The
actual fighting is easy enough though. After the fight there will be more
scenes.

  A fight, big surprise. To end the fight and go down to the next level,
have one of your characters step on the down stairs on the other side of the
dungeon. Take note that your characters don't recharge HP/MP between floors.

  After the fight there will be more scenes. You'll get the Light Stone and
the King's Image for Chongara. You'll then be on the map.

::Alatos Map
  Go to the Skyport

::Alatos Skyport
  There are a few scenes here, and Chongara becomes a permanent member of the
party.
Note: From here on in battle, when you press Select to get the configuration
  screen, you can select Chongara's Monster Book to see the stats on all of
  the monsters he's identified before.

::World Map
  Slight diversion from the story here. Go to Millmana and visit the Forest
Spirit again. Then go to Seirya and Arc's house to read another letter from
dad. Once that's done, head to Greyshinne. You can go back to Seirya and
to the Monolith if you want to see a hilarious scene between comrades, but
it's not required.

  Watch the scenes, then you're on the map.

::Greyshinne Map
  Go to the only other place you can.

::Amaidar Temple
  Watch the scenes, you're then in a 1 on 1 fight against Iga. You're going
to need to be at a fairly high level for this fight, so you should consider
doing some levelling beforehand. I was at level 29 and got through it ok.

::Greyshinne Map
  Onward to the mountains!

::Amaidar Mountain
  This area starts with the battle. First, make sure you power up Arc, Iga,
and Tosh to make it go quicker, then go around killing stuff. The Water
Slimes are incredibly easy to kill with Fire Magic(Explosion, Burn Ground)
and the only thing you really need to look out for is the Hemo-ji's since
they can turn a character into one of them(they're still on your side, but
their sprite changes and they lose a lot of their battle power). If that
happens make sure you use a Power Jelly to get out of it quick.

  After the fight are a few scenes, then you're back on the map.

::Greyshinne Map
  You should know the drill, make your way back to the skyport to leave.

::World Map
  You can head for Niedel if you want. Or you can go back to Greyshinne to
train at the temple(highly recommended), or go back to Seirya to talk to the
king and/or visit Arc's house to get another letter from dad(and a romancing
stone as well if you've read all his previous letters). You should also go
visit Millmana and the Spirit in Toyoke Forest for a Cure-All and a Throw
Scroll the first time you visit her. Actually, you can keep doing that last
one as many times as you like for as many as you want. Time consuming, but
effective. Anyway, when you're ready to continue the story, go to Niedel.

::Niedel Skyport
  Just a brief scene, then you're on the map.

::Niedel Map
  That Arena looks intriguing, doesn't it? Go there.

::Tournament Arena
  You'll be able to move around on your own(for the first time in a while).
Examine the Gong in the upper right of the area for an herb. You can switch
between characters to walk around with, but whoever you use doesn't really
make a difference. When you're ready to do battle, talk to the man with
glasses standing between the two horse statues and select who will fight. I
chose Arc, but you can use whoever you want. After another scene, you'll be
walking around again. Talk to the Official again to start the first bout.
Remember, all battles are 1 on 1. After each bout you'll be walking around
again. You can talk to people for different commentary, but it's really not
anything special. Talk to the guy in glasses each time to start the next
bouts. None of them are actually very hard if you're over level 35.
Bout 1: Blood Knight Win: Revival Tonic
Bout 2: Boogie Man Win: Power Nut
Semi-F: Black Knight Win: Magic Sprig
Finals: Mad Monk Win: Reco's Grass
Orb Fight: Assassin Win: Power Apple
  The Assassin fight is the only one you have to worry about, since if you
  damage it into critical without killing it, it will use a bomb and you
  won't get the exp for killing it or the very valuable Power Apple.

  Something to take note of, if you beat the tournament with Poco, you'll
be given a Toy Ring as an added bonus. Also, if you talk to the official
(the guy you talk to in order to fight) 10 times from behind, he'll give
you a Book of Cravis to shut you up.
  After you win, there will be a few scenes. Then a boss fight.

 Boss: Blood Fiend
HP: 125
Attacks:
None, just the basic attack
- Can this even be considered a boss?
- Can this even be considered an actual fight?
- This was too pathetic to waste the time mapping it out...
- He's a piece of Cake if you were strong enough for the Arena.
- You get a Neba Neba for winning. Like I said, not really all that much of
  a boss.
Minions:
Boogie Man x6

  Another scene, then you'll get the Wind Stone and the Tragedy Glasses.
You're then taken back to the map.

Stone and Chongara gets the Rai-Jin Guardian Force. More scenes will follow,
then you'll be in a fight with just Arc and Kukuru. It's not that hard
though(obviously), just have Arc open with a level 3 Gale Flash(it is lvl 3,
right?) on one of the skeletons so it'll hit the two skels nearby, plus the
Soul Stealer and the Soul Flame. Then let Kukuru clear the paralyzed skels
for an easy level up(unless she's already high up in levels). After that,
just have Arc take out the Flames and let Kukuru kill the paralyzed skels he
leaves behind.

  Afterwards, another scene, then you'll be back on the map.

::Seirya Map
  Go to the falls.

::Sabatico Falls
  Fight the monsters(who are starting to get tough). If you get an enemy
between Rai-Jin and Fu-Jin, that's a one hit kill, but getting an enemy
between then requires a bit of finesse(and teleporting, and patience). Just
use all your strongest attacks and you still shouldn't have a problem. Keep
Kukuru in the back so she can resurrect anyone if they need it and try to
keep the enemies grouped together as some of the higher powered attacks from
Arc, Iga, and Gogen will be dealing in the hundreds, enough to clear the
field in a few turns.

  After the fight there will be a scene. If there's anything you want to do
in the game like the Forbidden Dungeon or the Amaidar Training Grounds, do
that now, you won't be coming back. Make sure you do leave too. Remember
all those times you visited the Forest Spirit? Well, go see her one more
time and she'll reward you with a Silk Belt!

::Sabatico Falls Interior
  Watch the scene, you'll then be in an Illusion World where you have to
fight demon versions of yourselves. This is going to be your first really
hard fight as they use all of your attacks. I don't know about you, but I
felt great joy at killing myself(you know what I mean).

Congradulations, you've beaten the first game in the Arc the Lad series!

Make sure you saved when you were prompted to, you'll be able to use that
data in the next game.

3-D. Characters

  When they reach certain levels, your characters will gain new spells and/or
other spells will be upgraded. Once you have a spell, it will upgrade every
10 levels.

*NOTE: This section is very incomplete right now, please don't flame me, I
       know it's missing a lot.*

Poco
  One thing to note about Poco's instruments, they will all be level 1 when
you get them, even if you're above the level required to get them another
level. What happens is the next time Poco levels up, the instrument gains a
level. *MAKE SURE POCO HAS ALL OF HIS INSTRUMENTS BEFORE YOU START LEVELLING
HIM* If he you get him to level 60 before he has all of his instruments,
then they will be stuck at level 1. Actually, the highest you should go is
58, so he has 2 levels for the instruments to gain their levels.

Chongara

  Chongara's Magic works slightly different from normal magic, in that he
summons various monsters to fight with the party instead of casting magic
like the other characters do. He does have one standard spell though, and it
is useful on occasion (especially if you plan to complete the monster book).
Only catch is, it only has one level.

Identify - Starts With
Lvl 1: MP: 1 Range: 3 Area of Effect: 1

  He comes with 2 summons already, Kelack and Mofly. The others you have to
find. In order for summons to gain levels, simply have them fight. They
gain experience the same way characters do, and can equip accessories. If
you're worried about putting an accessory on a summon and losing it, don't
be, summons retain the equipment you put on them between battles. In simple
terms, if you put the Kaiser Glove on Mofly when you first get Chongara and
never use Mofly until the last battle (why you'd do that is beyond me), then
the Kaiser Glove will still be on Mofly.

Summon Name     Where it's found
-----------------------------------------
Kelack          Start With
Mofly           Start With
Odon Go back to Chongara's Shop after Iga joins

3-G-a. Amaidar Proving Grounds

  This is a great place to gain some levels, as every fight is your party vs.
16 monsters! The battles start off simple, but get harder and harder as you
go through them. What's even better is that every time you beat one level of
monster(i.e. you beat Battle 1) you won't haveto fight that one ever again!
This way you don't have to keep fighting enemies that are incredibly weak
just to get up to the real challenge.

The battle ground will look like this:

 ======================
|         =  =         |  Key:
|                      |  -   : Stuff you can jump over
|-  EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE  -|  = | : Borders, walls you can't pass through
|                      |  H   : Walls you can't jump over
|                      |  E   : Enemy starting positions
|    T            K    |  A   : Arc's Starting position
|-         A          -|  T   : Tosh's Starting position
|  P   I        G   C  |  P   : Poco's Starting position

|                      |  K   : Kukuru's Starting position
|                      |  G   : Gogen's Starting position
|                      |  C   : Chongara's Starting position
 ======================

Battle 1: Green Slime
Battle 2: Fire Elemental
Battle 3: Doll Master
Battle 4: Giant Bat
Battle 5: Water Slime
Battle 6: Wild Hemo-ji
After this fight, there is a scene with Chongara, at which point he gains the
  Hemo-ji Guardian Force
Battle 7: Vampire Bat
Battle 8: Soul Flame
Battle 9: Mad Puppeteer
Battle 10: Blood Slime
Battle 11: Funeral Pyre
After this fight, you are given a Monster Fang.

  Another neat feature of the Grounds is the Trivia. If you say you're not
there to fight, they'll ask if you want to play. If you get all the
questions right, you get the Monolith Crest.

3-G-a. Forbidden Ruins

  This is a really friggan' deep dungeon. It goes down 50 floors and in
order to get back up to the top, you have to go through *all* of the floors.
Don't even think of coming here unless you've got at *LOT* of free time. It
might also be a good idea to Pause the game every now and then so you can get
some sleep, food, sunlight, weird stuff like that.
  So, why come here? Well, mainly because it's a great place for level
building as well as item hunting. some of the best items in the game are
found here. Also, it's a great place to read out monsters for Chongara's
little book.
  All levels have at least one treasure chest on them. Some of these chests
contain accessories for your characters and will only appear once. The other
chests that contain normal items like Herbs, etc, will recharge every time
you re-enter the level. Really, if you wanted to, you could get 99 of just
about every item in this place, but that will take an even longer amount of
time and you don't really need items that much. Besides, you do want to see
your family occasionally, don't you?

Note: Items marked with a * only appear once. All others appear every time
  you enter the level

3-G-c. Tournament Arena

  The tournament arena in Niedel will open up for open bouts after you get
the Wind Stone from the tournament. The fights are just like the regular
tournament in that they are a 1 on 1 fight of one of your characters against
an enemy. Yes, you can still choose who you want to fight.
  Yes, you can leave the Arena and keep your current battle record. It
is actually a good idea to leave every now and then to save once you get
up in the fight numbers so that way you don't accidently lose everything.
  When you're ready to fight in the arena, talk to the same official you
talked to during the tournament to get into a fight. Whoever you decide to
have fight, a good choice of equipment would be the Phantom Gauntlet, Hit
Scroll, and Hyper Boots. If you don't have any of those then just use
whatever you're comfortable with. Also, once you get your character set up
for the fights, it might be a good idea to go into the configuration menu
(hit [Select] when you're on the battle map, remember?) and set "Confirm
setup" and "Confirm finish" to off so you can avoid the constant nagging
for you to check your equip and make sure you're done (it saves you some
time, and that message can get a bit annoying after you've seen it several
hundred times).
  Getting all of the fights required is going to take a long time (don't
believe me, look below) so you're going to want to configure the game to
get it to work as fast as possible. Here are a few suggestions:
- Set the message speed to Fast. This will save you a good few seconds
  when you're trying to sign up for the fights and afterwards as well when
  they show you your record.
- Set Confirm setup to Off. Again, this is gonna save you about 1 or 2
  seconds each fight.
- Set Confirm finish to Off. Yep, another 1-2 seconds saved.
- Use Tosh. Put the Phantom Gauntlet, Hyper Boots, and whatever else on
  him. At level 60, Tosh is the fastest character in the game and the
  strongest(he an Iga both have 42 Str in my game). With the Hyper Boots
  on he'll have at least 2 free turns before the enemy gets a chance to
  go. With the Phantom Gauntlet on he'll be doing about 250 +- 30 damage.
  This is more than enough to kill the Ninja Lord in one hit.
- Don't use magic. That takes too long to cast.
- Make sure you're comfortable, in a comfy chair/couch, have some CD's to
  listen to, stuff like that. It may sound silly, but you're going to be
  doing the same exact thing for quite a while and it can get a bit
  annoying, boring, etc.

  Once I got a pattern down, I was able to average one fight and all the
extra stuff that goes with it in about 25 seconds using the above method.
That was about 5 fights in 2 minutes, which means I was getting 100 fights
in less than 50 minutes. My personal best was 34 minutes when I was on the
900-999 stretch (I saved every 100 fights and always when I had only 1
fight left before a prize). Well, that's about all the advice I've got for
that.  Continuing along...

  The most annoying thing about this place (next to the fact that you have
to fight so many damn times) is that the only enemy you'll face in here is
a Ninja Lord. Every single fight is against one of those guys. That makes
an already boring an monotonous process even more so.
  Well, enough of my complaining. Once you get a certain number of wins,
you'll be allowed to choose a prize from a list, they are as follows.

After 10 Fights you'll be able to choose a prize from a list of:
Full Power Fruit (Power Apple)
Big Bomb
Atrophy Ball
Revive Medicine (Revival Tonic)
  Personally, I think the Power Apple is the best choice since you don't
really need the others (you have Kukuru for reviving, just have Arc protect
her, no problem, and using item weapons like Bombs/Balls really isn't needed
unless you're seriously under-levelled).

  Then you have to win 20 fights (10 more from what you have) for the next
prize from this list:
Power Nut
Palo Nut
Life Nut
Magic Sprig
  Personally, I think the Palo Nut is the way to go as it offers Agility,
which is the stat that grows the least and is one of the most important.

You now have to make it to 40 to get a prize from this list.
Ice Charm
Fire Charm
Magical Card (Magic Card)
Whirlwind Bandana
  Go with the Whirlwind Bandana, it's the only one you don't have yet.

  Now, 80 fights (are you noticing a pattern yet?) to get:
Insomnia Card (prevent Sleep)
Anti Hemo-ji (prevent Hemo-ji)
Mirror (prevent Silence, I think)
Sunglasses (prevent Darkness)
  Eh... I actually found all of these kinda useless. All they do is prevent
various status effects, which aren't really that much of a problem anyway...
Hemo-ji condition is the most annoying ailment, so go for that one if you
can't decide. I feel so jipped...

  For our next item, we've got to get to 120 wins (Ok, so much for that
pattern) for... Diel's Fang. That's it. No choice in the matter... oh well.
Well, you now have to get up to 160.

At 160 (aha! a pattern again!) you get a choice again:
Power Wrist
Hyper Boots
Healing Charm
Shell
  Hyper Boots are the best option here for their Agility Booster. In fact,
the boots are one of the best accessories in the game. Now, on to 200!

  Once you reach 200 you get a Phantom Gauntlet. Sure, I'm dissapointed that
there was no choice in the matter, but hey, I'm not complaining. Phantom
Gauntlet is another one of the best accessories in the game (it's up there
with the Hyper Boots). For the next prize, you have to reach *gasp* 1000
wins! Clear out your calender my friend, this one's gonna take a while.

  Once you win all 1000, well, I think the game says it best so I'll put it
in their words:
"Holy Smokes! You're amazing!
 Congradulations!

 You now get everything but the kitchen
 washbasin!

 Recieved a Full Power Fruit.

 Recieved a Big Bomb.

 Recieved an Atrophy Ball.

 Recieved a Palo Nut.

 Recieved a Phantom Gauntlet.

 Recieved a Violet Laser.

 Recieved a Unicorn Horn.

 That's all the prizes in the storehouse! Now
 save the game, turn OFF the console, and go
 get a life!"

NOTE: Not all of these items are what they say they are. Here's a list of
  what each misrepresented item really is:
  Full Power Fruit - Power Apple
  Revive Medicine  - Revival Tonic
  Violet Laser     - Violet Necklace

  And there you have it, 1000 wins nets you all that deliciously good stuff.
Well most of it is delicious. I don't know about you, but having 3 Phantom
Gauntlets and 3 Hyper Boots now kinda gives me a thrill, and makes the game
feel like the rest of it will be incredibly easy. Well, anyways, do like the
game says and save then go see how much the world's changed since the last
time you saw it.
  Something to do is go back in the arena (stop groaning) and win again just
to watch the hilarious commentary that follows.

-----------------------------------------
Black Tournament

  Once you complete Chongara's Book (after you beat the Dark versions of
yourselves in the Illusion World and are prompted to save), you can then load
that data and go back to the Niedel Arena and fight in the Black Tournament.
What this is, is the same fighting arena, except that you'll be fighting the
Dark versions of the characters rather than Ninja Lords. Nothing overly
special, but it does become a great place to do levelling if you want to have
everyone at level 60 to import into Arc 2.

  None of this stuff was really big/important enough to get it's own section,
but is still worth mentioning.

-------------------------
3-H-a. Easy Exp/Levels

  A really neat feature about the Forbidden Ruins is that it's incredibly
easy to gain levels in there, and if you know what you're doing, you can gain
mass amounts of levels in a very little amount of time, even for weaker
characters like Poco and Kukuru. The way to do it is to make your way to
level 43. I know that's a little tough, but if you've been using Arc in
battle a lot, he should be around level 50 or so by now, low to mid 40's at
the least. He'll be able to drive through most enemies quickly enough so you
don't lose anyone on the way down.
  Once you get to level 43 (with everyone still alive, hopefully) it's time
for the fun to begin. If you look around you'll notice that the level
consists of 4 Blood Slimes in the corners, who are conveniently trapped in
them since they can't jump over the barriers, and there are also 4 Shadow
Skeletons in the center, who are also conveniently trapped. Now, move Arc
near the center cage and have him use one of his spells, Burn Ground should
be enough, on one of the Skeletons. Note that the spell will hit that
Skeleton as well as 2 of his friends, who won't exactly die. Instead they'll
become paralyzed (aka sitting ducks). On his next turn, have Arc move inside
the center area with the Skeleton and knock him down.
  Voila, you now have about 1600 exp for any character in your party, as all
they have to do is move into position and kill the Skeletons off. And what's
even more interesting, is if that character has the Necklace (it's a few more
levels down, level 46 to be exact) equipped, they'll be gaining about 7-8 HP
every level. Pretty nice, huh? Also, as a bonus, if they've got the Violet
Necklace equipped, they'll be gaining about 2-4 MP per level (I think, it
appears that way, but I'm not 100% positive about the MP booster). Very
schway.
  In case you're wondering if that's really worth it, picture Arc levelling
up without them and having 175HP/98 MP at level 60 and Kukuru using them and
having 307HP and 208MP at level 60.  It's a pretty big difference, wouldn't
you say?
  Just in case you're wondering how to get Chongara up to level 60 even
faster, all you have to do is go to the Raiden Ruins in Zariban, equip the
King's Image, and let Choko have fun in there. You'll get 1-2 levels in
about a minute and a half (assuming you've already gotten Choko to level 60).

-------------------------
3-H-b. Romancing Stones

  There are 4 Romancing Stones in the game. Exactly what they do is unknown
to me at the moment, but hopefully I'll find out soon. Anyway, to find them:

(Warning: Story Spoilers contained here within)

1 - Right after your house is burned down, go back into Touvil and you'll be
    able to walk around the ruins. Go to the back right corner of Arc's
    house and examine the wall there to find it.
2 - Right after Iga joins your party, go to Touvil and read the letter your
    father left in the mailbox for you, the Stone is with that letter. In
    case you're unsure as to where the mailbox is, it's the brown thing that
    looks like a sign in front of the house.
    NOTE: You have a limited time to get this stone. Once you progress the
          story to the point where another letter is in the mailbox, the
          stone will be gone.
3 - You get this one automatically when Gogen joins.
4 - On Level 50 of the Forbidden Dungeon, it's in the treasure chest that is
    nearest to your party at the start of the level. It's also the only
    chest that's not on the other side of the divider.
    NOTE: You only have one chance to get this, as once you beat Choko, you
          will no longer be able to walk around on 50, thus, the chest goes
          kaput.

-------------------------
3-H-c. Getting the Silk Belt

  In order to get the Silk Belt, you have to visit the Forest Spirit 7 times
throughout the game, all at specific intervals.
1. After the first tree event but before getting Gogen
2. After getting the Light Orb but before going to the temple and meeting
   Iga.
3. After getting the Earth Orb but before doing the tournament in Nedle
4. After getting the Wind Orb but before going to the Water Shrine
5. After getting the Water Orb but before going to the dungeon in Palencia
6. After getting the Fire Orb and before going to Arc's house for the Fire
   event on the Sacred Mountain
7. After the Sacred Mountain event

  If you missed one of these, and thus missing out on the Silk Belt, do NOT
panic. You can get it another way. In Arc the Lad 2.

-------------------------
3-H-d. Choko

  Choko is the game's "secret" character. You can recruit her by beating her
in battle on the 50th floor of the Forbidden Ruins. Once you do beat her,
she will become a Summon for Chongara. She starts at level 1, like all other
summons, but at that level, she's incredibly powerful, on par with Arc at
level 60. There is one catch to using her though, she can only be summoned
on the recurring battle maps (see that section above). Sorry, but you can't
use her on any of the story battles. I guess they thought that would make
the game even more easy than it already is. Even so, it still is fun using
her. I mean, c'mon, she's this little kid and she's beating the crap out of
everything. You don't usually see stuff like that except in Squaresoft made
games. Well, there's also one more slightly bad thing about her. She
doesn't have a page in Chongara's Monster Book. Meaning you don't get to see
the cute picture Chongara might have drawn of her. Owell... In case you're
curious, her level 1 stats are:
HP: 244
MP: 91
Movement: 6
Str: 32
Wis: 24
Def: 27
Agl: 14
Jump: 2
Throw: 2
Counter: 2
Catch: 2

4. Arc the Lad II

Section Progress: Pretty much everything got updated except for the character
  section.

Note to Playstation 2 owners: Do not run this game with the Texture Mapping
  option set to Smooth, that will cause graphical glitches rather than make
  the graphics better. However, setting the disc read speed to fast will
  remove the few second load times from the game.

=============================================================================
4-A. Game Basics

  This game is slightly different from Arc the Lad in terms of control. For
one thing you can actually access your items/accessories outside of battle,
as well the the configuration menu. You're also going to be moving around on
your own more, rather than just selecting the area of the map you want to
visit and letting the game do all the walking around, etc. The other really
important thing to notice about this game compared to Arc 1 is that your HP/
MP do not automatically restore after every battle.

  While in the status menu, you'll be able to see the status of the selected
character (I know, big duh, but I needed a way to start the explanation).
When you first select the character, you'll see their stats, level, Attack,
etc. If you press up, you'll see the status screen, which shows any ailments
the character currently has, as well as a list of all status ailments if you
press the X button on the controller. If you press down from the stats
screen, you can see the characters current ability listing as far as what
skills/spells they know. Press Left or Right on the controller to view the
stats on the other characters in your party (if there are any). Your basic
abilities are pretty self explanatory, but just in case, here's what they do:
  Attack - How much damage you deal with physical attacks and with magic
           attacks that use physical damage.
  Defense - How much damage you receive from physical attacks.
  Magic - How much damage you deal/receive from Magical attacks.
  Agility - How fast your character gets their next turn. Also adds to their
           Hit% and Dodge %. Doesn't have anything to do with how fast they
           can run, that would be speed (if it were a stat, which it isn't,
           so don't worry about it).
  Throw - How well and far you can throw an item. The lower the number the
           easier it is for enemies to catch the thrown item.
  Counter - Your ability to counter an attack. At 0, you won't counter at
           all, 1 you'll can counter from the front, at 2 you'll be able to
           counter from any direction, 3 is basically 2 with a higher counter
           %.
  Range - How far your character can move in battle. Basically how many
           little squares they can move each turn.
  Catch - Your ability to catch items thrown at you by enemies. At higher
           levels (2-3), you'll be able to throw damaging items back at the
           enemy.
  Jump - How well you can jump. At 0, you can't go over anything. At 1 you
           can go over basic stuff like small rocks, etc. At 2 you can jump
           over other characters/monsters. At 3 you can jump over almost
           anything within reason.

  There you have it. In case you're wondering why there are 2 values for
every stat, that's because the first number is the base number for that stat
and the second (to the right of the +) are any enhancements you've got added
on via items/equipment. Add the 2 of them together to get what your actual
stats are.

  In order to run away from battle, you have to run to one of the edges of
the area, it will then ask you if you want to leave.

  When you select to use magic through the Abilities menu, it will always go
to the level 1 version of the spell first. If you wish to use the level 2 or
level 3 version of the spell, press left/right on the D-Pad/Analog Stick.

  All magic has an Area of Effect. What this is, is the number of squares
that will be affected by the spell. For example, if a spell has an Area of
Effect of 3, it will hit the square that is targeted, plus 2 squares above,
below, left, and right of it. Here are a few drawings of what I'm talking
about in case you're still confused.
    Area of Area of Area of Area of Area of
    Effect 1     Effect 2    Effect 3     Effect 4          Effect 5
       X            X            X            X                 X
                   XXX          XXX          XXX               XXX
                    X          XXXXX        XXXXX             XXXXX
                                XXX        XXXXXXX           XXXXXXX
                                 X          XXXXX           XXXXXXXXX
                                             XXX             XXXXXXX
                                              X               XXXXX
                                                               XXX
                                                                X
  Also, there are Line Effects, which are spells that will only effect a
line of enemies. The line will go in the direction you were facing when you
cast the spell, so if you want to change the direction of the spell without
moving, press R1 and move the controller in the direction you wish to face,
then select the magic.

  In addition, Arc 2 features Wave Effects. These are similar to an Area of
Effect, only they will start at the character, and as they get further away,
they expand. Yep, more drawings time.
  Wave       Wave       Wave        Wave          Wave
  Effect 1   Effect 2   Effect 3    Effect 4      Effect 5
    CX           X             X           X             X
               CXX            XX          XX            XX
                 X          CXXX         XXX           XXX
                              XX       CXXXX          XXXX
                               X         XXX        CXXXXX
                                          XX          XXXX
                                           X           XXX
                                                        XX
                                                         X
  As far as Range is concerned, it's similar to Area of Effect, only what was
an Area Effect of 5, is where you could move/target with a Range of 4. Am I
making any sense? If so, good. If not, here are a few more drawings to try
and help illustrate my point where X is where you could move/target and C is
the character's position:
    Range 0      Range 1     Range 2      Range 3           Range 4
       C            X            X            X                 X
                   XCX          XXX          XXX               XXX
                    X          XXCXX        XXXXX             XXXXX
                                XXX        XXXCXXX           XXXXXXX
                                 X          XXXXX           XXXXCXXXX
                                             XXX             XXXXXXX
                                              X               XXXXX
                                                               XXX
                                                                X
  The Square button on the controller opens up the menu. You control
everything from that little menu. Ok, not everything, but you can change the
configuration of the game, look at the stats page, change equipment on
characters, cast spells, and use items. Just about everything.

  You can assign skills to R2 and L2. To do this, select the Abilities
option in the battle menu, highlight the skill you want to set, and then
press either R2 or L2 (whichever you want the skill set to). Not really all
that important, but it'll save you some time and having to constantly go into
the menu to select spells you're going to be using a lot.

=============================================================================
4-B. Importing Arc the Lad

  If you saved your data at the end of Arc the Lad 1 (it will prompt you to,
so don't think you lost out because you forgot to save someplace), you'll be
able to convert that data into Arc the Lad 2. To make a new game in Arc the
Lad 2 using that data, select the "convert" option underneath the continue/
new game options on the starting screen. If you have a save that is useable,
it will be shown, and you'll be able to convert it. Don't worry, when you
convert it, you don't convert the save itself, that you'll still be able to
use with Arc the Lad 1. Once the conversion has taken place, the game will
start as though you selected to start a new game.

  So, what transfers? Well, for starters the stats of all of your Arc 1
characters. Say Arc was lvl 50 when you saved at the end of Arc 1, he'll be
level 50 when you load him into this game. Also, all accessories will
transfer over when the Arc 1 characters join the Arc 2 ones. You will also
be able to obtain all of Chongara's Summons, including Choko.
  Also, if you certain events in Arc 2 will be unlocked if you load in Arc 1
data, such as a special series of events involving Choko.

Stuff
- : Stuff you can jump over, but you can't stand on it
= : Walls/Obstacles you can't jump over/stand on
| : Borders for the sides of the battle maps
1 : First character's starting position
2 : Second character's starting position
3 : Third character's starting position
4 : Fourth character's starting position
5 : Fifth character's starting position
NOTE: You can only have a maximum of 5 party members in the fight at any
      given time, and since you can select those party members, it's rather
      pointless to use the initial for the character's you control. However,
      until you gain the option of choosing your party members, I'll still
      use letters for the characters.
E : Elc

---------------------------------------
::Elc's apartment
  There will be a few scenes, and then you'll be controlling Elc, this game's
main character. There's nothing to do/see here other than the scenery, so
just walk down and try to leave for another brief scene. Afterwards, leave
to automatically go to your next destination.

::Prodias Guild
  After the quick dialogue, move up to the teller and talk to her/him. After
you get the job, talk to Lynx again, walk out, and watch the scenes.

::Aldia Skyport
  There's another scene, then a fight. It's nothing special, just attack the
guy (don't forget, your weapon has a range of 2) repeatedly to take him down.

Talk to the girl who was previously held hostage for a Gale Bandanna and then
follow the bad guy out the door to the ship.

::Romalia Airship
  There's not really a whole lot of choice here. Run to the right and you'll
automatically see another scene where you meet Lieza, then run to the right
again. Talk to the guy on the floor, then keep going to wind up on the deck.

::Airship Deck
  You'll fight your first boss for the second time (kinda redundant, huh?),
only this time he'll summon a few bats to fight you and Lieza will join, with
her pet of course.

  First things first, the Armory is almsot directly straight down from Shu's,
the Jewelry Store is to the right of that, the Hunter's Guild office is to
the left from Shu's, and the tavern is right above the Guild office.
  Go into the Guild office and talk to the guy behind the counter, then to
the other hunter in the office to find out where Lado is. Then, leave and go
up to the tavern. Watch the guy hobble on out, then talk to the barkeeper.
Leave the tavern then leave the area.

  In reality, this battle is unwinnable as monsters will keep coming no
matter how many you kill. On the bright side, once several new monsters
appear and there's a bit of dialogue, the battle will end. Then, there will
be a scene. After that you're in control again. Go talk to the Guild office
guy again. You're now out to make 1500 so you can pay off Shante. But,
before you go after a job, head to Shu's and he'll become a party member.
   Rest in the bed to turn back to daylight. It's now time to go after a few
bounty heads.

NOTE: Should you choose to, you can now go into the Arc Arena, a seperate
      game that came in the Arc the Lad Collection.

  Go to the Guild office and talk to the guy behind the counter again.
Choose "Accept job" to be take to the list of available jobs. Refer to the
Bounty Heads section for info on the bounties.
  Once you've solved enough of them to be able to pay off Shante, go to the
Tavern again and talk to the bartender. Then, go to Shu's place to make it
go dark, then head back to the tavern for a scene, then a fight.

  After you win there's a couple scenes, you're then fighting with Arc, Tosh,

even more oddly enough, som of Arc's skills seemed to have changed Elements
(i.e. Gake Flash was Wind, now it's Light).

::Yudo Village
  Go up the stairs and out the door at the bottom. Outside, you can go down
the path and in the first house on the right. Down the stairs in there is a
chest with a Small Sword. Near the bottom of the village is a vendor
directly to the left of the exit. The house right above the vendor has a
back entrance where the corner of the path is, enter there and get the chest
with a Revenge Bandanna in it. Anyways, go back into Vilmer's House and down
to his lab. There's a door near the stairs(if you tried to go in it before
he'd yell at you), go in to watch a scene. When you're in control again
leave the village.

::Yados Isle Map
  Go left to the Sealed Ruins.

::Sealed Ruins
  Go into the Ruins. Watch the scene, then you're in a fight. Sort of,
the idea is to make it all the way down to level 3, where you'll see a
scene.

::Yudo Village
  Watch the scene, then try to leave for another scene. After that, leave
and go back to the ruins.

::Sealed Ruins
  Make your way back down to level 3 for a scene. Then go to the right to
find the stairs down. Once down there, there will be a brief scene again,
explaining what a Guardian Fountain is, when you're in control again, touch
it and hit X, then go down the stairs.
Level 1: There's a treasure chest with a Defender in it in the upper right
  corner, it's a pretty good weapon for Lieza. That's about it though.
Level 2: Nothing much...
Level 3: You watch a few scenes here.
Level 4: Easy Breazy Beautiful... nevermind... There's a HP/MP recharger here.
Level 5: The stairs are pretty much straight up from where you are. The
  chest on the left has a Reco's Grass, and the chest on the right has a
  Dagger+0.
Level 6: Go down and to the right, at the intersection, the stairs are to the
  right, and the chest to the left has a Recover Fruit in it. After you kill
  all of the monsters, a new path will open up. At the first intersection,
  there is a Magic Apple in the chest to the left and the chest on teh right
  has a Cure-All. However, as soon as you take either of the treasures and
  go back to the intersection, you'll be attacked. Once they're dead, move
  up to the stairs.
Level 7: Walk up and you'll get a scene, then a fight. After the fight,
  there will be a scene, and you'll get a Power Unit. The treasure chest on
  the left has a Full Power Fruit, and the one on the right has a Revival
  Dust in it.
  Once you get everything, make your way back up to the third floor where
there will be a scene.

::Yudo Village
  Another quick scene, then go up the stairs and rest. There will be another
series of scenes, then trouble back at Vilmer's House. Go down the stairs
for a two-for-one deal, a scene and a fight.

  After you kill/train everyone, there will be another scene. You're now on
a quest to find the key. Go right and in the first door to the top. After
a quick scene you have to do battle again, but it's nothing special. After
the fight, leave the room. If you go in the room below that one, there's a
chest with a Long Sword in it. In the room furthest to the right, you'll see
a quick scene and another easy fight. If you go off to the left of Shante,
then the room on the bottom has a chest with a Gauze Wrap+1 in it. The two
upper rooms have nothing but a fight in them. Anyways... Once you have the
key, go back to where Shante is/was and then go through the big door in the

  After this fight, take the path at the top of the screen.

::Lost Forest
  There will be a scene. After that, go in the house. The treasure chest is
really a shop, and you can rest/save here as well if you like. When you're
done, leave the house and take the path at the top of the screen for another
scene. Choose your party members. All of the fights in here are virtually
identical, so it's not worth it to map them out. Just know you'll be
fighting Red Skeletons and Treants throughout. Take the path on the upper
part of the screen where there's an opening in the shrubbery, then go right
to get to a chest with Crush Boots in it.
  Go back to the first area(where the opening up top was) and go right this
time. Keep going right until you can't, then go up for 2 screens. Now, go
right one screen, up 2, right 1, down 1, right 1. At the end of this path is
the guardian of the forest, talk to him and ask where the forest exit is.
Now go left 1, up 1, right 1, up 1. You're out. Finally. Now, watch the
scene, you're then in the sewers.

::White House Sewers
  Ok, is anyone noticing some familiarity with the name of this location yet?
Well, whatever... Go down and over to a ladder, this leads to a room where
you can rest/save. Once that's over, make your way back to where you came in
and go left to a bridge then across it and continue down to find a switch,
press it. Go through the door that just opened, kill the monsters, then
through the door on the other side of the bridge. Now, go left to an inter-
section. From here, go up and follow this to a ladder. Go down and hit the
switch, then go through. In this area is a chest with a Power Nut in it.
Now, meander back to the intersection you went up and and go left this time
to another ladder.
  Down this one, go through the door, then up, past a divider wall, and go
right to another area, hit the switch in here, then back to the other room.
Where you first entered this area there is a treasure chest and a walkway
going right. Follow the walkway to another room. In here, go in the door
at the top, right next to where you are. Now go left through another
passageway to get to the chest, which has a Magic Leaf in it. Go back 2
rooms, to where there should be a fight waiting for you. Beat up the
monsters in here then exit, stage lower-right. In here, have someone move
over to the stairs/ladder/whatever while the battle is still on(you won't be
able to once it's over). Get the Strangthen Fruit up here in the chest, then
go back down and exit to the lower right. In this next area, there is a
short scene, then a fight. You fight a wizard this time, but still, nothing
special. Afterwards, hit the switch on the upper wall, then go through the
doorway. In here there's a Y-junction. To the left is a save/rest room. In
order to go right, hit the switch on the wall, then go through.

::White House
  You'll have the option to change your battle group, do so if you want, then
hit the switch on the left door. Inside is a battle, and a chest with a
Studded Club in it. Go back out and head all the way right and hit a switch
to open a door. There's another switch in the next room, hit it then go back
out. Go in the middle door(you will fight Poison Clouds, Rabid Dogs, and a
Voodoo Man in here), then exit that room through the upper right corner.
Follow this corridor all the way to the bottom of the room where there is a
switch in the lower left corner. Press it them go through the door all the
way to the right. There's a chest with a Full Power Fruit in it in the back
corner of this room, get it then go back out and to the middle door. Press
the switch in the far right corner, then go back out and through the left
door. In this room is a staircase, go up it.
  Follow this corridor and go through the door all the way at the end to the
left. Watch your step in here, if you step on one of the tiles that doesn't
have anything on it, you'll fall through the floor. There's a switch on the
back wall, you can get to it without any worries if you walk along the edge
of the room. To go through the door, however, go back 3 tiles(so you're on
the 4th one from the wall), go right 3 times to line yourself up with the
door, then go straight through the door. Through here, go right all the way
to a door with a switch and through, you're gonna fight a really huge robot
now.

room on the Silver Noah. Talk to Elc a couple times for another scene. When
you're in control of Lieza again, leave teh conference/strategy/whatever room
and go down the stairs. Then go talk to Chopin in the front of the ship and
you'll get a bit of dialogue.

::White House
  You're in control of Arc again, go in the door at the top of the stairs.
Basically, just follow the trail and watch the scene at the end. Then, more
scenes follow.

::Touvil
  You're in control of Shu now. (Good Lord, can't they make up their mind who
you're controlling?) Go left to exit the town and watch a scene. Go back to
the shrine. To the left is a room where you can save/rest. Just keep going
up and eventually you'll reach Kukuru. Talk to her and answer yes twice for
another scene.

::Palencia
  You start out in the lower-left corner of town. To the right is the
tavern, even further to the right is the Hunter Guild office. Above the
Guild office is the inn, and to the left of the inn is the Armory. I
suggest you visit the Armory to get some new and powerful weaponry, including
a gun for Shu. When you're done, leave town.

Talk to him again when you're ready to leave. There will be a couple scenes.

in the corner rooms now. First, go into the room right below where you came
out and hit the switch in there, then go to the room to the left of that one,
and get the chest below the fence with a Recover Fruit in it while the battle
is still on, the other chest has a Reco's Grass in it. In the upper left
corner is anotehr room, flip the switch there, then go into the room to the
right of that one and get the chest in the far right corner with a Magic
Apple in it, as well as the chest on the left side of the room with a Chaos
Herb.
  Now, go through a doorway on the right wall of that square corridor and at
the intersection go up. Follow this path until you land in another square
corridor. Go in the door at the bottom and flip the switch, then go back
around to the door on the top to get ot the chest with Crystal Shoes in it.
  Go back to the intersection where you went up and this time take the lower
route. When you finally get to an intersection, go right and hit a switch,
then go back and take the upper path.

  Go around the structure and into the door at the bottom of it, hit the
switch in here, then go as far right as you can and into a darkened room.
Hit the left switch at the end(the right one will turn on the lights and
you'll have to fight). Leave and go through the tunnelish path to the left.

::Forles Map
  Go to the other city area, Ramul.

::Ramul
  To the right is the inn, and further to the right is the Armory. Talk to
all the people and ask for their help in removing the stone, then try to
leave for a scene. Watch the scene, then go talk to the boy(Leets? Someone
at WD was having fun...). After another quick scene, you're in town again.
Gogen has also joined up with you. Leave town.

::Forles Map
  Go back to Holn. If you used your Arc 1 data and brought Gogen over at
level 60(if you went that high), now would be a good opportunity to gain a
few levels.

::Holn
  Watch the scene, then fight.

  Take out the Beast Master to end the fight and watch another scene. When
in control again, you can go to the above room for a snooze-n-save, or just
leave.

::Forles Map
  Go to the upper left part of the map past Holn into the ??? area.

::Chimera Research Lab
  Watch the scene, when you're inside, go right at the first intersection and
follow this to a switch. Do the same with the left side, then take the path
leading up. At the T-junction go left and into a room where you fight 3 Red
Skeleton enemies and a Great Dragon for a chest containing a Wind Staff. Now
go through the other door on the right. You'll fight 3 Death Hounds and a
Boogie Man, which are pretty much the regulars in this area. Blood Hounds
can drop an IceSnake Whip though, which is good for Lieza. In the next area,
go through the left door first, hit the switch, then go back and through the
door on the right. Beat the enemies(A Voodoo Man, Great Dragon x2, Death
Hound x2) and go through the door. In this room there are 3 sets of switches
that will move around the blocks in the next room, creating various walkways.
The leftmost set will set the block closest to the top of the screen, the
middle set - the middle block, and the right set sets the block closest to
the bottom of the screen.
  First, set them all to right and get the chest with a Smart Capture inside.
You can set them to left if you want and use that room to rest up(if you need
to). Then go back and set them all to middle and continue along the path.
Along the way will be a fight with 3 Great Dragons and 3 Death Hounds. This
is a perfect time to let Gogen show off his magic power. There is then
another series of switches, this one a bit more complicated. There are 9
switches, and if we number them from left to right, we'll get something that
looks like this: 123456789. The platforms start out set to the middle, but
just in case you screw something up, the comination for that is 1,6,8. It's
ok if you skip that one though, it leads to a trap door which sends you back
to the previous switch combo puzzle thing. Now, to set the platforms to the
left side, activate switches 3,5,9. This leads to a chest with a Raila's
Mirror inside. Now, activate switches 2,4,7. This will bring you to the
next area, and a fight.

  Kill everyone. Sad, but it's the way of things. After is another scene.
Once you're in the land of the living again, follow Diek to visit Kukuru.
Talk to her again when you're ready to go to Palencia Castle. Well, what's
left of it anyways...

::Palencia
  Leave Town.

::Seirya Map
  Right, the Castle ruins are there.

::Palencia Castle Ruin
  Run right and watch the scene. When you get down to the basement, you'll
be fighting 2 Funeral Pyres and a Dark Wraith. You'll have Poco with you,
but if you were like me and didn't train him... owell... After the fight,
go in the upper left door for another scene. At the bottom is a fight with
2 Vampire Bats and a Stone Fly(Note: They're all flying, so put Diek's Wind
Unit on and use Wind Slash). Continue on the path(after they're dead, of
course) and you'll be in another fight. One of the monsters has a bounty on
it's head, that's Diros. The other 2 enemies are Hell Hounds. After, follow
Poco again and walk to where the Fire Guardian was held in Arc 1 for another
scene. After the pep talk, use the Leaf Bead to go to Touvil so you meet up
with Kukuru.

::Touvil
  Talk to her again and say yes(when you're ready) for another scene.

::Palencia
  Take note that the shopkeeper who's always out, is now in. His shop is in
the upper left area of town in case you forgot. He doesn't have much, but he
does have Illusion Robes, which are a great Armor for this point in the game.
Well, leave when you're ready.

::Seirya Map
  See that thing that looks like a lighthouse? You're going there.

::Palencia Tower
  Watch the scene, then you're inside.

:1F(Hall)
  Go to the right and down the stairs.

:Basement 1
  Leave the room you start in and you'll be in a place that to me, can only
be described as a maze. Take the left path and hit the switch to open the
door. Hit the switch in the room, then go back and take the right path.
Follow that to the next intersection and take the lower route. Get the chest
with a Firangi in it, then go in the area to the left past the chest. Go
through the door, then get the chest with a Strengthen Fruit and hit the
switch, then take the middle path in the room where the Firangi was. Hit the
switch in the next room to make a bridge, then go left(not over the bridge).
Keep following this to another switch, then go back to across the bridge you
made with the switch and in the door to the right, where a guard is standing
watch. Follow this corridor to a treasure chest with a B Ring Armor in it,
then go back and through the door right above where the armor was, hitting
the switch inside. Now, go back and through the door to the left and down
the stairs.

:Basement 2
  Just follow the path.

:Basement 1
  Watch the scene(Dim Tin Tin... Oh God...). Leave the cell, then watch
another scene.

:Basement 2
  Just follow the path, making sure to get the Life Nut in a chest. Just
past where the Life Nut is, there will be a Lightning Show, then monsters.
They're just Medusa Lizards, nothing special. There's another chest with a
Magic Sprig in it, get that then continue along. The floor will give way,
and you'll fall down into a cell.

:Basement 3
  Set all the switches to red, then go to the left and set those switches to
red. Now, go back to the right and down, setting those switches to red.
Then, go back up to the top and to the right for a chest with a Magic
Canceller in it. Go down 1 and to the right to a door. Follow this to a
staircase.

:Basement 2
  Hit the switch near where you came up, then go left and around the panel
that gives way when you step on it. Hit the switch on the other side of the
wall, then go across it. When you get to a certain point, more lightning,
more Medusa Lizards. This time you can completely ignore them and just have
Diek walk up to the exit. In here there's a quick scene, then a fight. It's
2 Medusa Lizards and 2 Mad Monks. Like Diek says, it's an easy battle.
After that, continue along. Take the left staircase, then fight a Ninja Lord
and 2 Thunder Birds. It's a fairly hard battle, make sure to make full use
of your magic, Explosion works quite well. Also, try to get yourself
cornered, you won't have anywhere to go, but you can make it so you're only
being attacked by one enemy at a time. After you take them out there are
more scenes.

::Secret Passage
  After a scene, you'll be fighting. Don't let any of the villagers get hurt
or you're screwed. The enemies are really easy though, just 1 Giant Bat and
1 Manticore(anyone see Dark Angel on FOX?), both at low levels. After you
beat them, Elc will show up. He's still in miserable condition from the last
fight, so have him keep running towards Diek and Poco and let them fight the
enemies, consisting of 2 Poison Bats and 2 Nightmares. They're even lower
levels than the last fight, so Elc might be able to take them out, but it's
risky if he took too much damage against the Ninja Lord and Thunder things.
After are more scenes.

::Touvil
  After a few scenes, leave for the Silver Noah.

::Houfion
  After another scene, you're in control of Shu again. To the right is the
shop, next to that is the Hunter's Guild office. More to the right is the
bar, and below the bar is the inn. Below where you enter is the Recyclers'.
Go into the bar and talk to the barkeep, then leave. There's a scene, then
you're fighting on the streets against a Ninja Master and 2 Werewolves.
After is another scene, then go to the inn. Talk to the innkeeper, then
watch the scene. After that go into the bar again and talk to the person at
the upper left table(Tosh) for another scene.

::The Heap
  More scenes. Then you're fighting Tosh. Don't worry, he's not the same
powerhouse he is when you're using him, but he's still powerful. After is
another scene.

::Houfian
  Follow Tosh for another scene. Follow him again for another scene. After
that, talk to Tosh AGAIN, this time to get him to join up with you. Leave
Houfian.

::Romalia Map
  Take the dirt path that looks like it leads to the skyport and go right, to
the train tracks going into the big city. This will take you to the Romalia
Tunnel.

::Romalia Tunnel
  Watch the scene, then you're fighting a Dark Stalker and 3 Ice Devils on
the tracks. Let Tosh take out the Ice Devils and have Shu take on the Dark
Stalker, that's the most evenly matched way to do things. After that is
another scene.

::Romalia Map
  Go back to Houfian.

::Houfian
  Make your way back to the bar and to the secret headquarters. After a
quick scene, you're fighting.

  One of the SA-200s will be a monster with a bounty on it's head. After the
fight, there will be a bunch of scenes. When you're in control again, leave
Houfian.

::Romalia Map
  Go to the Romalia Tunnel.

::Romalia Tunnel
  Watch the scene, then you're fighting a bunch of monsters. Well, guards
that are monsters in... nevermind, they're Earth Devils and Mud Battlers.
Just fight and keep it going as long as possible to give Shu the time he
needs. The easiest way to do it is to try and group them together so you can
maneouver around better. So fall back to a wall, fight, run, fight, run,
fight, etc. Another way to fight is to move so you're just inside the range
of one monster, but will be out of the range of the others. This will let
that one monster attack you, and you counter. If Tosh gets surrounded,
you're gonna start to run into problems. Also, don't forget to stock up on
Blood Herbs at the shop before you start. It's also a good idea to make sure
he's got the Book of Flower on. You need to make it at least 20 Turns, so
fight conservatively. This would've been so much easier with someone who had
area effect skills...
  The easiest method I've found for doing this is to fall back until you're
about 5-6 tiles away from the right side of the border with 4 monsters, with
Tosh on the bottom and the 4 monsters in a vertical line right above him.
All of the monsters have a range of 4, as does Tosh, so if you keep moving
all the way left, then all the way back right, letting them attack with you
countering, you'll only be attacked by 1 monster at a time, since the AI will
always have the monsters move horizontally and stay at the same distance from
you. Also, since you're so far over to the right, you won't have to worry
about getting swarmed by the monsters that spawn next to the tunnel entrance.
  Anyways, once you've got 20, use the Cast-Off ball for more scenes. If you
don't make it to 20, that's ok, you'll just have to be more efficient as Shu.
After that you're using Shu, who has to finish setting the bombs while
fighting the guards. Note the Turn counter in the same place it was with
Tosh. You have the same number of turns to get Shu to arm all the bombs and,
subsequently, stay alive. It takes about 3 turns to activate a bomb and you
can only work on one bomb each turn. Really, it only takes about 6-7 turns
to set all of the bombs. Shu's enemies are a lot easier than the ones Tosh
had to fight(2 Fire Golems and a Soothesayer), so no real worries there, just
make sure if you're going to disarm a bomb with enemies nearby you don't have
the Sub-Machine Gun equipped, attacking enemies takes priority over setting
bombs. Also, his enemies don't seem to replenish. Watch the scenes
afterwards. If you do run out of turns, however, more enemies show up and
the plan fails. That means you have to start over.

::Chimera Research Lab
  You'll still be controlling the Tosh/Shu team, so run all the way to the
left(if you're running low on health from that last ordeal, you can leave to
go back to Houfian and visit the inn), then watch another scene. After that,
run to the right. Keep following this path down all the stairs. After you
go past an area with a bunch of Gargoyle statues, there will be another
scene. After that, keep going and you'll meet up with Gogen and Lieza. Keep
following the path and you'll have to fight against 2 Blood Zombies, a fake
Gogen, and a fake Lieza. It's not as hard as you'd think, but it is annoying
as both of them have really high evasion rates. Watch the scene afterwards.
  You're now controlling the Gogen/Lieza team(you've got a healer again!!!),
at the first intersection go right, then up at the next one to get a chest
that's actually a trap. It has a Spark Flail in it, which isn't anything
all to great, so you may want to skip it as the monsters may be tough for the
part of the party that isn't made up of Gogen. If you decide to get it,
that's fine, if not, that's ok too. Just keep following the path on the
outer ring and take the left door to get to a chest with an Ancient Spear in
it. Go back and in the right door and meet up with fake Tosh/Shu. Kill them
and continue on.
  Now, you're controlling Elc, Poco, and Diekback. Hit the middle switch on
the right side of the door to open it. You can also hit the middle switch on
the right side and get a recharge. You now have to fight fake Arc and fake
Kukuru. This one can hurt if they use magic. Take out Kukuru first so she
can't use Divide(the real screw-you-over spell). Watch the scene then...
  Next is Shante and Gruga. Walk up and you'll be attacked by a Blood Zombie
and 2 Ghoulgoyles. After that, go up the middle path and hit the switch,
then go around and through the door. You get to fight against Elc, Lieza,
and Alfred now. Go after Lieza first, she's the healer(and thus, the most
annoying). After the scene, you're controlling...
  Iga! Go all the way to the right and open that door. After the fight,
watch the scenes.
  You now have everyone in your party. Go down the stairs to the lower left
for a chest with a Strengthen Fruit in it. The lower right stairs have a
Scale Whip in the chest. To the upper left is an area where you can rest and
change the battle setup if you want. The upper right has the path to
continue on. In the next room will be a scene, after that continue along.
In the next room you fight 6 fake Elc's. Once they're gone, go back and
through the other door. You're fighting 6 Tosh's now. This one can be a
real bitch if you're not careful, or you don't get lucky and dodge. After
they're gone, go back out to the middle, then through the door in the middle.
After another scene, you're gonig to fight Gallarno, only now, you've got Arc
with you as well.

::Amaidar Temple
  Watch the scenes.

  Go to Paysus, it's next to the skyport.

::Paysus
  To the left is the library, to the right is the Hunter Guild office. Up

in the shop is that is has a Shotgun for Shu, and a few other weapons not
previously available. There aren't any newer swords/axes/spears/etc. though.
  Go into the library and up the stairs in the upper left corner. Watch the
scene then leave. There will be another scene as you're leaving. Now you
have to find the guy that looks like what you saw in Sania's crystal ball.
Ok, now, go all around town and talk to everyone that looks like him. Make
sure to talk to all the people in the shop, inn, library, and guild office as
well as the people on the street and ask them all for an alibi. Once you've
done that return to the second floor of the library and talk to the guy who
also looks like the thief. After that dialogue, leave town.

  Watch the scenes. After, you're fighting against Soul Flames and Skeleton

first takes their turn, a giant cross hair will appear over one of your
characters. Make sure to move out of it as soon as possible, it deals a
****load of damage when it hits(upwards of 100) the next turn. Usually, they
will have time to move out of it, so it's not a big problem. It will hit
everything withing it's range though (it's range is the square in the center
of the crosshair as well as the 8 squares directly connected to it, the ones
that are covered by the red lines), which means if a monster gets caught in
the blast, well, they take damage too(hint hint). Afterwards, watch the

  There are a *LOT* of things you can do now...

Stuff to do in Clenia:
- If you imported Arc 1 data with Choko, you can get Choko on Clenia Isle.
  See her section for more detail.
- Once you get Choko you can start on her side quest(see the Choko section)
- You can fight in Tournament Battles in the Clenia Arena.

Stuff to do in Alatos
- If you didn't get Choko in Arc 1, or didn't import Arc 1 data, you can
  still get her by going to Alatos and down the 50 floors, but you'll miss
  out on a few sequences that involve her.
- You can visit Chongara's Shop. You will gain Odon, and be able to walk
  around the shop. See all those treasure chests? They're all your
  accessories from Arc the Lad 1.
- You can also revisit the Forbidden Ruins in Alatos(or go to them for the
  first time, depending on your Arc 1 conversion). If you've got Choko with
  you when you go there, she will point out a shortcut to the 50th floor
- Also in Alatos, you can go through the Azenda Highland and Get Rai-Jin.

Stuff to do in Zariban
- Fu-Jin will be in the Water Shrine, waiting for you.

Stuff to do on Yagos Isle
- With the new equipment you got from Chongara's Shop(well, old... sort of),
  you can go to the Combine Shop and make some new equipment, i.e. a
  Romancing Stone from the 4 in Arc 1.
- You can go do the Sealed Ruins and get the treasures on level 3 using
  Gogen's Teleport. You can get a Crown Ax and a Magic Apple on the left
  side, the Ax not really worth it... On the right side is a Magic Sprig
  and another Magic Apple. Yay... There are also a few chests on the
  bottom floor, namely a Magic Apple, Cheer Nettle, Pirom, and another
  Magic Apple.

Stuff to do in Greyshinne
- You can go back and train in the Amaidar Temple.
- Go through the Sealed Ruins.

Stuff to do in Seirya
- There are a couple new bounty jobs in Palencia, but that's it.

Stuff to do in Romalia
- There's one new job in Houfian.

Stuff to do in Niedel
- There are a few jobs to do in Misro.
- You can fight in the Arena in Misro.

Stuff to do in Forles
- You can go through Mother Claire's Cave to change the classes of your
  monsters, but that's really a waste unless you've actually been using them
  all along.

  To continue the story, go into Brakia.

::Brakia Map
  You can go to the Smith to have him raise Item levels and add effects to
certain items. Otherwise go to Ruwaga, it's the city on the hill.

::Ruwaga
  Watch the scene, then you're fighting 6 Spectres. After, you're moving
around in town. Go into the house to the left for another scene. After,
leave town.

::Brakia Map
  Go to the mansion like house.

::Lord's Manor
  Watch the scene. When you're in control, go all the way up and through the
doors. You'll have to fight 4 Iron Golems and 4 Dark Mages. If you've got
Iga at a fairly high level, you can use Messho-reppa and kill them all rather
quickly.
  After the fight, take the left path and follow it all the way to another
fight with 3 Dark Mages and 3 Iton Golems. Dispose of them and go in the
door at the top of the screen for another scene.

::Gruga's House
  You're controlling Shante. Go into Gruga's back room, talk to him, then
leave.

::Ruwaga
  Watch the scene. Go to Gruga's house, it's right next to the weapon shop.
Watch that scene, then leave town.

::Brakia Map
  See the cave opening in the base of the volcano? Go there.

::Banza Mountain
  Follow the path and get on the mine cart. After the ride you're fighting 7
Mud Goblins. After them, get on the next cart. Before you get on the next
cart, make sure the tracks are aligned to go straight by pressing the switch
so it's leaning to the right. Keep following the path, using another mine
cart along the way until you reach an area with 8 Mud Goblins. Get on the
cart in that lower area and hit the switch, go right and on that cart to
another switch, then go back across that cart and the cart above the switch.
Go down and in the small hole opening, leading to a chest containing a
Feather Staff then go back out the opening and to the right. Ride the next
cart to the next area.
  Don't get on this cart, first go up the tracks a bit and hit the switch to
make the tracks go to the side. Now, ride the cart and get the Battle Stick
in a chest, then go back and ignore the switch and cart. Just follow the
tracks up to an area where you'll have to fight a bunch of Mud Stalkers.
After the fight, keep following the tracks to another switch and hit that one
to make the tracks turn to the side rails. Now, go back and hit the first
switch to make the tracks there run straight and ride the cart. At the end
is a re-energizer, re-energize your characters and continue.
  Run up and hit the switch to turn the tracks upwards and ride those to a
switch, then go back and hit the track switch again, pointing the tracks
left. Once you're off the tracks, go left and you'll be attacked. Kill
them then continue. You'll be in another fight that has a wanted monster
(Gigas) in it. Once that's over continue up. There will be a cart on the
right, you can ride that back to the beginning of the area and go back for
the re-energizer, otherwise, keep going up.
  In this area a monster will be getting on a mine cart and you'll be
prompted to allow it or not. Say no and you'll be in a fight with 6
weretigers. Say yes and you won't have to fight. After the fight, ride the
cart to the top, and the next area.
  Get on the cart, after you reach your destination, you'll be attacked by 5
Weretigers. After that you have your choice of 7 carts to ride on. Take the
one leading up and follow it to another fight. After that, take the 3rd cart
from the bottom all the way to a chest containing a Light Elbow. Go back and
take the one leading right to the next area.
  In this area is a re-energizer. Use it and continue.
  Watch the scene, then you fight.

::Brakia Map
  Leave, you must.

::World Map
  To Forles you go.

::Forles Map
  Into Holn you go.

::Holn
  Oi... No more Yoda talk... Enter Lieza's House for a scene. You'll fight
a few enemies, then watch another scene. After that, leave Holn.

::Forles Map
  Enter Ramul

::Ramul
  Go into the inn. Watch the scene, then choose to rest. There will be
another scene, after it leave Ramul.

::Forles Map
  Enter the Cathedral next to Ramul.

::Gia Temple
NOTE: When you're prompted to make your team selection, it is a good idea to
  bring along strong fighters, such as Tosh, Iga, Elc, Choko, etc.

  Quick scene, then you fight 6 Master Mummies. There will be another scene,
then you'll be inside. Run all the way up the stairs and through the door
for another scene. When you're in control again, run up the right side into
the door. Follow this to a room with 2 treasure chests, one with a Hatchet
and the other with a Wind Blade. Exit through the top of the room and follow
that. You'll get in a fight with 3 Skeleton Lords and 2 Demi-Zombies. After
that, go through the door and watch another scene, then go straight down into
another door. Follow this to a chest with an Earth Blade in it, then keep
going. In the next room you'll fight another 3 Skeleton Lords and 2 Demi-
Zombies. There's also a chest with a Diek Punch in it. Get that and go back
to where you watched the scene. Go to the left of where you entered this
area the first time and in the door in the lower left corner. Follow this to
a room with a GroundGrizzle Fang in a chest, get it and go back again. This
time, go in the upper left door. In the room past the corridor is a chest
containing a Black Wear and a re-energizer. Keep going to the next room,
where there will be a fight. You can choose to ignore the enemies and go
down the stairs to the right. Follow this until you're back in the main hall
and examine the alter to hit the hidden switch. Go through the door.
  Watch the brief scene, then continue along. In the next area it's more 3
Skel 2 Zombie time, but only there's a slight hitch. You can't use magic.
Kill them and continue. In the next room is a re-energizer, get that if you
need it (which you probably do) and go through the mouth... door on the left.
Push the pillar in here into the back left corner, on the tile that is
glowing, to open a door on the other side. Go back and through the mouth on
the right side and follow the path to another pillar which you have to push
from the right to create a bridge, then walk across and push the pillar you
come across as far as you can, then get under it and push it up 7 tiles, and
then right until it falls. Do likewise with the other 2 pillars in the area,
only push them to the right first so you can get them into position. Once
you've pushed all 3 into position, creating a bridge, go over it and push the
next pillar all the way up to open a door and go through it.
  In this next area, follow the path to an intersection and go down and then
in the door leading up and the next one. In here, push the pillar all the
way up and to the tile second from the right where there should be a skull
with a different appearence. Once the door opens, leave and go left. Push
the pillar in here 3 spaces to the right and 5 down so it's in the lower left
corner to open a door. Now go back to the first intersection and go right
and into a door. In here, push the pillar all the way up and then left. You
will trigger a fight, kill them and continue pushing the pillar to the left
until it's lined up with the doorway. Now, push it all the way down and to
the left corner, opening up another doorway. Go back out and all the way to
the doorway to the far left to the room where you moved the statue to open
the door in the room you were just in. Go in the newly opened doorway in
here to get to a re-energizer. Use that and continue up the stairs.
  Watch the scene in here, then you'll be prompted to make a new party. Why?
Well, duh, you're going to fight.

  After the fight is another set of scenes.

::Forles Map
  Enter the Skyport.

::Silver Noah
  Watch the scene, then you're on the World Map.

::World Map
  Head into Millmana.

::Millmana Map
  Go to the fight area to the left of the city, below the skyport.

::Razen Pond
  The only reason you're here is to put Sania in front. So, when you select
your party for the fight, make sure Sania is in the 1 slot (all the way to
the left in the selection). Win the fight and then leave.

::Millmana Map
  Head to Ajarl, it's to the right.

::Ajarl
  To the left is the inn, to the right is the bar. Above the bar is the
Shop and above the inn is the Guild Office. Simple. There are some new
items in the shop, so you may want to check that out. Anyway, go into the
bar and talk to the man with a vacuum cleaner in the back right corner for a
scene.  After, leave Ajarl.

::Millmana Map
  Leave back to the map.

::World Map
  Directly to the right of Millmana (you have to press left though...) is the
Oil Rig, head there.

::Oil Rig
  Watch the little movie.

::World Map
  Go back into Millmana.

::Millmana Map
  Head back into Ajarl.

::Ajarl
  Watch the scene, then go into the bar and chatter with the vacuum cleaner
man.  Leave town after that.

::Millmana Map
  A new spot will open up, the Nien Forest. It's right next to the Skyport,
head there.

::Nien Forest
  After the scene, follow the path. When you get to an intersection, go up.
You'll fight 2 Dark Hemo-jis and 3 Lifesuckers. Fight them and continue on
the path and you'll fight another batch of enemies. Kill and continue to the
next area where there will be a scene. When prompted, say you're not ready,
that will bring you back to the map.

::Millmana Map
  Why did we do that? So you can rest in the inn and save. Go to Ajarl.
Also, there's one other thing to do. You know you're going to be chosing 2
teams to go into battle, right? Well, now is a good time to equip Arc and
whoever you want to go with him, since they'll be fighting first and you
won't get the opportunity to change equip from when you select the team to
when you fight.

::Ajarl
  There's also a job for the Guild that you can do. Anyways, once you're all
prepared, leave.

::Millmana Map
  Go straight to the Train Cannon Base, you don't have to go through the
forest again.

::Train Cannon Base
  If you're ready, say yes and you'll be take to the party making screen.
You have to choose 2 teams, the air team and the ground team. You choose
air first. Elc and Sania are automatics. After them, you choose the ground
team. Arc is an automatic in that. In case you're wondering, I had Elc,
Sania, Raijin, Lieza, and Shante in my air team. Arc, Tosh, Iga, Gogen, and
Kelack in the ground team. After you choose the teams you get to watch a
few scenes.

::Ground Team
  You'll be fighting outside the cannon against 4 King Dragons and 4 Ogre
Lords. Don't worry about de-equipping everyone during the fight, you'll have
the opportunity to do so later. After are more scenes, then...

::Air Team
  Watch the scenes. When you're aboard the Train Cannon, set up your equip
and head right to the next area. Head to the end of the hallway and press
the switch, then go back to the door on the left and hit the switch in there.
Now, go in the right door and follow the short path to the next room. At the
bottom is a chest containing a Rock Shot. Go back up and to the right to hit
a switch, then go in the right door on the wall below. Get the chest with a
Windgrizzle Fang in it, then hit the switch next to the door. Go back out
and hit the switch in the upper right corner again, then go back in the room
and navigate to the lower right corner of the room and hit the switch there.
Go back out and in the door to the left and hit the switch in there. Now, go
back out and follow past where the laser was to a door on the upper wall and
enter. In this room you have to time your movements with the lasers on the
wall so you won't trip them (by the way, hitting lasers summons monsters for
you to fight). In the next room, hit the switch and go back out, past the
lasers, and continue right to a door. In here is a re-energizer and a lift.
Take the lift down.
  At the bottom, go out to the left and then take the path down, left and up
to get to 2 doors, one on the left, one on the right. Go in the left one and
fight the 4 Shadow Ninjas, then hit the switch on the wall. Leave and go in
the door on the right this time, you'll fight 2 Shadow Ninjas. Make sure to
have someone jump over the fence and get the chest with a Killer Sound in it
while the battle is still on, or you'll miss out on it. Hit the switch and
go out again. Now, go up, past where the laser was just turned off, and at
the top go right and into the door on the bottom of the wall. In here,
you'll play another game of laser-dodge, all to get to a switch. Hit it and
go out and down, then to the left. Go in the first door you see on the upper
wall, you'll then fight 3 Assassin Lords and 3 Dark Monks. Dispose of them
and hit the switch (or, just hit the switch and run like hell). Leave the
room, then go left and up all the way. Slightly to the right is a door, go
in there and run all the way to the right and hit the switch. Once you've
done that, go back out and to the left, then down to where a door is on the
left and go through. There's another re-energizer there, and another lift
for you to take. Run past the lift first, and into another area for a chest
containing a Diek Gun (yup, Diekback just got a gun). Now, go back and take
the lift down.
  Get the chest with a Pole Ax in it, then get back on the lift and press the
switch to go down again. In the next room the lasers are a bit more
complicated than before, but still dealable. Basically, you need to wait for
the laser to go dark and the next one to appear, then wait for the one in
front of you to go dark and move to that one before the one you're standing
on lights up. Simple, eh? Make your way to the doors and go in the upper
one. Fight the enemies in here, then go to the next room. There are 3
switches on the wall, and only one of them can be green at a time. Set the
switch to the left one, then go back out into the laser corridor and enter
the door on the bottom. Make your way past these lasers by waiting for the
path to the middle to be clear, then go down again when you can, and finally
to the right into the next room. Hit the switch in here and go back.
  If you want to save time on your return trip past the lasers, just run into
one, it will send you to the entrance and you won't have to fight. Now, back
in laser corridor, keep working your way to the right. Once you're past
them, go into the door at the bottom and fight the enemies, then go to the
room next door. Hit the first switch on the wall, then move right to get the
next one. In the pair next to you, have the right switch set green and the
left switch set red, then run right and hit the switch in the upper right
corner of the room. Go back to the corridor and continue right to another
door on the upper wall. Take this to another room where there is a path and
a laser preventing you from moving. Wait for the laser to go dark and run to
the small alcove, then wait for it to go dark again and run to the next
alcove. After it goes dark again, you should be able to make it past the
laser. Follow the path to a chest containing a Magic Rod. Now, go back to
the corridor again and go all the way to the right. Follow this again and
you'll wind up in a save room (you may want to first go back to the last re-
energizer).  Take the elevator down.
  Follow this path and you'll be attacked. Fight and then leave the room via
the lower left door. Follow this to a chest containing a Memory Necklace and
go back into the main room. Enter the upper left door. In the next room,
take the stairs down and follow this to a chest in the next room containing a
DarkGrizzle Fang, then go back up the stairs and to the left. Follow that
until you reach the next lift and take it up.
  When you come to an intersection, go right. In the next room, get the 2
chests, one with a Long Pole, the other with a Dark Weapon in it. Then, go
back and take the left path until you're on the bridge. Watch the scene,
then you're fighting on the bridge.

  After the fight is another little set of scenes. Then you're on the map.

::Millmana Map
  Head to Toyoke Forest. To get there, take the bridge across to the
destroyed base, then walk around the bottom of the island and up the right
side to another bridge. Just past that is the forest.

::Toyoke Forest
  Watch the scene, then you're back on the map.

::Millmana Map
  Exit via the skyport.

::World Map
  Now you can go to the Oil Rig without getting blown up, so do so.

::Oil Rig
  Watch the scenes, then you're in control. There's only one way to go for
now, so take it. Along the way, you'll fight groups of Mysterious Fires and
Red Phantoms. Eventually, you'll get to what appears to be a dead end. Take
the Ruby in the treasure chest and then examine the pipe, you'll be taken to
another "dead end." There's another pipe to take, this time you'll wind up
at a set of stairs. Go down them and in the doorway. Keep following the
path until you get to an area with a pipe to the right and a doorway to the
left. Take the pipe first, to get to a chest with a Flame Edge in it, then
head over left to the doorway. In here is another crossroads, take the right
path to another room with 2 chests, the upper one with a Revival Dust and the
lower one with an Instant (very worth getting as it increases offense on
level ups) in it. Continuing along the path... at the next intersection, go
down first and flip the switch, then go back up and to the left. You'll
fight a whole bunch of monsters (9 Fires and a Phantom), then continue along
the path. In the next area, examine the knobs to move the pipe blocking the
way, then go back to that area and through the pipe.
  Over here is a switch to turn on and a re-energizer. Back track until you
come to an area where there are 2 doorways right next to each other and a
staircase that wasn't there before. Go down the staircase and in the door at
the bottom. The 3 chests have a Reco's Grass (upper left), Studded Leather
(upper right), and Rage Weaken Dust (below the Studded Leather). In the room
below the stiarcase is a pipe, take that and you'll drop down to an area with
3 pipes in it. Take the left one and follow the path to 3 chests, a Power
Nut (left), Ray Sword (middle), and Crown Knife (right). Now, take the right
pipe to get back to the first 3 pipes. Take the right one this time to a
chest with a Rage Life Nut in it, then into the nearby pipe. Hit the switch,
then go into the next pipe. Back at the 3 pipe circus, take the middle one
and keep going until you get to a switch, hit it and continue along. Take
the right pipe again (yup, you're back here) and hit the switch at the end of
the tunnel, then go piping again to get back to the start. Jump in the pipe
again and go through the door to a save/rest room.
  Leave the save/rest area and go right, to an elevator and take it down.
Watch the scene, then select your party members for a boss fight.

case you forgot how to get there, leave the save room and go left, take the
pipe to the next room where you'll be attacked. Go up the stairs and in the
left door. Follow this until the next intersection, where you go left to the

4-E. Status Ailments

  During battle, just dealing damage is not always the best way to win.
Sometimes, when you're overpowered, it'll do you good to make use of status
attacks that have various effects to make the game easier for you. Or harder
if the enemy uses a status attack on you. Also, there are quite a few
positive status ailments in the game, like Magic Shield, etc. Anyway, here's
the list of them all:

4-F: Choko

- If you imported Arc 1 data with Choko, you can go to Clenia Isle and into
  the Time Forest right below the skyport. In here go: Up, Down, Right,
  Right, Left, Left, Up, Up. You'll get to Toyoke Village. Watch the scene,
  then go in the house in the upper left corner and watch the scene, then
  choose to accept the hospitality and watch another scene. Go back into the
  main area for another scene, then talk to Choko. Follow her to the right,
  then left, then down, then to the village exit. You'll be back in the
  forest, just follow Choko. You'll wind up in a graveyard, watch a scene,
  then follow her to the exit. She will now join you.
- If you didn't get Choko in Arc 1, or didn't import Arc 1 data, you can
  still get her by going to Alatos and down the 50 floors, but you'll miss
  out on a few sequences that involve her.

- Go back into the Time Forest and watch the scene. After that, go up until
  you reach a graveyard. In the graveyard, go through the hidden opening
  where the tree is covering the fence. Read the back of the large grave
  that Choko visited on the way out last time. You can only do this if Choko
  is above level 60.

- Leave the forest, then re-enter and watch the scene. When you're actually
  in control again, talk to everyone in the village. After you ask everyone
  about Silva, go back to Choko's house and talk to dad, then examine the
  back door. Check the pile of stuff to the left past the bedroom door, then
  go out the back door. Walk all the way back and to the right and examine
  the stick. After that go back inside the house and watch the scenes. When
  you fight, kill 1 Slime, then watch the dialogue. Try not to kill any more
  after that(de-equip weapons if you have to). While you're in battle mode
  though, you can get a few treasure chests not otherwise available. One is
  to the left of the town entrance/exit, go all the way down the brown path
  and jump over where the fence disappears to make it to the chest with a
  Magic Leaf in it. The other chest is above the church, jump over the bush
  in the back corner next to the church and follow the hidden path to the
  chest containing Red Shoes. Once you have the chests, go to the left of
  where the Magic Leaf was and take the path to escape to the graveyard.
  Once you're in the graveyard, walk towards Choko's Mother's Grave. You'll
  be attacked by zombies. Work your way to the grave and destroy it. Note
  that you cannot use magic against it. Once you destroy it, watch the scene
  and then talk to Ralgo (Choko's dad) for another scene. Then, leave the
  village.

4-G. Bounty Heads

  Yes, I did get that title from Cowboy Bebop.
  Bounties are a fun way to build up exp, cash, and move up in the Hunter
ranks as well. Just don't forget that you don't automatically recharge HP/MP
after battle, so it's a good idea to cisit Shu's on occasion to rest up.
  Here's a list of the jobs and how to solve them:

Indigos Sewer Research
Reward: 400  Merits: 2
  Once you accept it, go to the manhole in the upper left corner of town and
examine it until you get the option to open it. Open, and you're
automatically inside. After a quick scene, you're in a fight. Like you
didn't see that one coming.

collect your bounty.

Ghost House Ruin Town
Reward: 600  Merits: 2
  Once you accept, leave town and go to Ruin Town. Go all the way to the
right to find the haunted house and trek inside. After a quick scene, go
right and up the stairs. Above the staircase on the 2nd floor you can just
make out a kid with a skeleton, talk to him, then after a brief dialogue, a
fight.

Reward: 1200  Merits: 6
  Leave Indigos and go to Ruin Town. Go into the house in the far right
corner of the town and select your party. Yup, a fight. Not yet though.
This is somewhat of a puzzle, not a very hard on though. Move to above
the statue of the girl with the pigtails and push her down. Go right one
square and push the next pigtailed girl down. Now, go to the right and
push the other pigtailed girl to the right and go up the stairs.

Indigos Whiskey Delivery
  Talk to the barkeep in the Prodias Tavern, then go to Indigos and talk to
the barkeep in that town's tavern. Leave and you'll be fighting 2 Mighty

automatically go to the Prodias Tavern, talk to the barkeep to complete the
mission.

Houfian Jobs:

--------------------------------------
Stop the Terrible Gas Leak!
Reward: 3000  Merits: 7

  Leave Houfian and go right, under the bridge, to Heap Cave-In. After the
dialogue, enter the cave-in. Enemies in here are King Dragons and Skeleton
Knights. Go to the left at the T-junction and hit the switch at the end of
the path. Then go back and take the right path to get to a room with 3
chests containing a Wind Mask, a Palo's Nut, and Smash Pads. Also, the
glowing thing on the wall is Power Unit 05 for Diekback. After that, leave
and talk to the guy again. This job is done.

--------------------------------------
Guard the Recyclers
Reward: 2000  Merits: 5

  Go down to the Recyclers' office and talk to the guy behind the counter.
After a scene you'll be at The Heap, fight the enemies that keep appearing.
It'll be all Black Dragons and Rabid Bats, but nothing to worry about with
Tosh around. After a while, he'll find what he was looking for and you'll
leave. After the scene, you're done.

---------------------------------------
Monsters' Food!?
Reward: 4000  Merits: 8

  Leave Houfian and go to the Heap Cave-In. In here, take the left path to
the end, where there will be a brief scene, then go through the opening. At
the intersection, take the path to the right. Get the chests in here for a
Conf Ancient Spear and a Cure-All. Now, go back and take the path leading
up. Keep following this path, part of the way through there will be 2
chests, one with a Cloak, the other with a Stripe. At the next intersection,
go up. In this area is a puzzle. If you step on the tiles that have a
square in the center and a border on them, you will have to fight 6 Ghost
Knights. They aren't hard, but they do get annoying. It's easier to just
leave the area and re-enter than to fight, you'll save yourself time, HP/MP,
and a headache. There are six grey pillars that you have to move up in front
of the door-like squares at the top of the screen. To make things simple,
I'm going to explain them from left to right.
- 1. Up 1, Right 3, Up 1, Left 1, Up 4, Right 1, Up 1, Right 2.
- 2. Up 1, Right 1, Up 3, Right 2, Up 1.
- 3. Left 1, Up 4, Left 1, Up 4, Right 1, Up 1.

- 6. Down 1, Left 3, Up 7.
After that, you're done.

--------------------------------------------
Catch the Scrap Thief
Reward: 4000  Merits: 8

  Go ot the Recycler's Office and talk to the guy behind the counter. Your
job is to basically stand around until you're attacked by 6 Acid Slimes.
Kill them, watch the scene, then get your bounty.

Palencia Jobs

Find Ancient Treasure!
Reward: 4000  Merits: 5

  Go to the bar and talk to the old man near the pool table, then go to
Palencia Castle. After the first fight inside, you'll get que to look for
the treasure. Examine the rocks right next to the entrance, where there's a
place you could normally jump over in battle in the upper right corner. Get
the letter and return to the tavern and talk to the old man again. You're
done.

----------------------------------------------
Find Ancient Treasure II
Reward: 6000  Merits: 6

  Talk to the old man in the bar again. Leave Seirya and go to Quina Hill,
it's all the way to the left on the map. Fight the monsters, then look in
the lower right corner of the area. See the thing that looks like a dead
crow? That's the treasure. Get it and go talk to the old man in the tavern
yet again.  Job Complete.

----------------------------------------------
Vengeance Assistance
Reward: 7000  Merits: 7

  At the inn, go in the middle door and talk to the kid. After the scene,
fight the Blue Phantom and Will 'o Wisps. When they're dead, watch the
scene and you're done.

-------------------------------------------------------
Paysus Jobs:

Find a New Home
Reward: 3400  Merits: 6

  Talk to the old guy next to the bar in the restaurant. When you get the
Silver Noah and can move around freely, go to Zariban, and into Elzark. Talk
to the woman in the house just above the Hunter's Guild. Go back to Paysus
and talk to the old man again. Job Done. That was easier than usual.

-----------------------------------------------
Play Cupid
Reward: 4000  Merits: 7

  Go to the inn and talk to the guy in the upper right room and say yes, then
go downstairs and talk to the girl at the counter, then go back up and talk
to Dr. Lovejoy again. Now, leave Paysus and go to the Anan Flats, they're
between the two staircases for Amaidar and the Sealed Ruins. Kill the
enemies here, one of which has a bounty on it's head, then leave. Go back to
the inn in Paysus and give Romeo the jewelry, then you're done.

------------------------------------------------------------
Misro Jobs:

Find the Old Man
Reward: 4000  Merits: 6

  Go into the second house to the right of the Shop and talk to the guy next
to the bed. Go over to the house in the lower left corner of town and talk
to the guy playing with an umbrella, then re-enter the house next and talk
to him again. Go back to the first house and talk to the guy. You're done.

---------------------------------------------
Monster in the Arena
Reward: 2000  Merits: 3

  Go into the arena at the top of town and talk to the official standing next
to the blue horse. You'll fight a wanted monster(Negdus) who will split
himself into 8 pieces, 7 of which are fakes. There are two ways to do this
one. A: Just keep killing them until you get th right one.
      B: Remember which one was there at the start, and try to kill him off
         without getting confused.

---------------------------------------------
Arena Monster Revolt
Reward: 4000  Merits: 7

  Go to the arena and talk to the official next to the blue horse. In the
fight, work your way up to the Skeleton Knight. Fight the first 4 Skeletons,
then move forward. Once you're 15 squares from the doorway you probably came
in, he'll summon 4 Red Skeletons. Once you get to where there is a gate on
the side, he'll summon another Skeleton Knight and 4 Arch Gargoyles. Kill
them all and you're done.

---------------------------------------------------
Ajarl Jobs:

Archaeological Guard
Reward: 2800  Merits: 8

  Head to the bar and talk to the guy with either a hard hat or a safari hat
on (can't figure out which...) in the back right corner. Then leave Ajarl
and go into the Nien Forest. You'll be prompted to go to the research area,
do so. After a scene, you'll be attacked. You have to fight monsters for 5
turns, not that hard. Either kill them or wait them off for 5 turns.
Chances are you'll kill them in less than the required time. But owell, once
that's set, you're on the map again. Either go to town to rest or go back
into the forest for the next area. This time you have to hold the monsters
off for 7 turns. Again, not very hard, but it's a bit more complicated with
the layout of the area. Same as last time, rest and come back. This final
time, you have to hold them off for 5 turns. Again, not very hard. After
that, you're done.

Mini-TOC:
4-H-a. Amaidar Temple
4-H-b. Niedel Arena
4-H-c. Clenia Arena
4-H-d. Forbidden Ruins

4-H-a. Amaidar Temple

  Survival - Simple, just keep fighting till all your characters get wiped
out.

1st: 30
2nd: 25
3rd: 22 - Anti Hemo-ji+7
4th: 20
5th: 15

  Time Attack - Still Simple, you've got a limited time to fight, so make the
best of it. To win this in the least amount of time, have Iga Messho-Reppa.

Times:
1 - 2:00:00
2 - 2:12:00
3 - 2:24:00
4 - 2:36:00
5 - 2:48:00

----------------------------------------
4-H-b. Niedel Arena

  There are 3 different ways to fight here, all with their own different
styles. One thing they all have in common though(other than the fact that
you're fighting) is that you can trade the prize money you win for items.
To do that, talk to the huy with the purple hair (standing below the gong on
the right side of the courtyard) about 5 times, then talk to the guy next to
him.
Prizes are as follows:
1000 - Strengthen Fruit
1500 - Cure-All
2000 - Revival Dust
2500 - Life Nut
2500 - Magic Sprig
2700 - Reco's Grass
2800 - Power Nut
2800 - Magic Sprig
3000 - Palo's Nut
3500 - Full Power Fruit
3800 - Blood Bomb
4000 - Rage Weaken Dust
4600 - Ruby
5200 - Rage Protect Dust
6100 - Rage Bomb
7100 - God Magic Apple
7700 - Great Item
8200 - Shell
9000 - Unicorn Horn
9600 - Chaos Gauze Wrap+9
10300 - Blood Tanzanite
11100 - Armor Stone
11900 - Tragedy Glasses
12600 - Steel Guard
13900 - Slayer
15000 - Book of Cravis+3
  Not a bad list, eh?

Maten Tower

  This is kinda like a slot machine battle, the 4 wheels turn round and round
until you stop them. You then have to fight those monsters. If you beat
them all, you win a medal.
Purple Ninja: Lv 53
Green Ninja: Lv 54
Blue Ninja: Lv 56
White Ninja: Lv 58

Boma-Jin

  You start out near the exits with monsters in the middle, monsters which
are trying to get to the exits. All you have to do is stop them from getting
there. By the way, your magic gets completely drained before the fight. You
get 8 MP each time you beat a monster, so you're not totally wasted. You get
120 Seum(prize money) if you win the round, but every time a monster manages
to reach an exit, that amount is cut in half. If 4 manage to escape, you
lose. If you've got the Romancing Stone, put it on Iga and have him use
Messho-reppa for an incredibly easy win.
Black Skeleton: Lv 30
Red Skeleton: Lv 26

Toppa-Jin

  You start at the bottom of the Arena. Basically, you're running the
gauntlet through a crapload of monsters. Your reward is simple. Someone
makes it to the rop, you get 100 Seum. No one does, you get nothing. This
is a good place to make use of Elc's Invincible spell. If you manage to kill
all of the monsters, you get the standard 100, plus an extra 100 Seum bonus.
Arch Gargoyle: Lv 55 x19

----------------------------------------
4-H-c. Clenia Arena

  Like in Niedel, the Clenia arena is also open with 3 games to play. These
games are different from the Niedel ones in that they all can only have 1
character in them at a time. The Seum you earn in this arena is added to the
Seum you earn in the other arena, and you can spend the Seum earned in both
arenas at one. So if you won 1000 in the Niedel arena and 1000 in this one,
you'll have 2000 at your disposal. In order to trade Seum for Items, talk to
the person standing behind the right statue, you can just barely see them
where the guy's arm is.

Genma-jin

  You objective is to hit the monsters before they disappear. Each one you
hit is worth 10 Seum. Kinda like that game where you bop the moles as they
come out of the hole.

Renma-jin

  This is basically the same thing as Genma-jin, except that there are now
real monsters mixed in with the fake ones. You have to hit the real ones
to earn big points, and hit the fake ones to stay in the game. Real monsters
are worth 20 Seum and fakes are worth 5. Also, as a hitch, real monsters
will be able to hurt you. You'll be able to recognize a real monster by the
explosion sound that comes with their summoning, as well as the fact that the
little light pillar that surrounds the fake ones will disappear. Tip: A
Romancing Stone and Violet Necklace on your character is a very good idea.
  This one will never end until you screw up/get killed.

Daima-jin

  Ok, there's this big metal cage surrounding the enemies. Your goal is to
kill them all off without getting into the cage. How do you do this? It's
pretty simple, use magic. You get 200 Seum if you win in one round, but
after every round, the number of Seum you win goes down by 10. Meaning you
have 20 turns to kill all the monsters or no reward. This game takes a long
time to win, and it's usually impossible to win in one turn. Not to mention
the meager reward.  Skip it.

----------------------------------------
4-H-d. Forbidden Ruins

  If you did the Forbidden Ruins in the first game, then you should remember
that this place takes a long friggan time to do since it's so deep. Well,
owell, you're here anyway, might as well have some fun. Also, if you got
Choko in Arc 1 and did the side quest to get her in this game as well, she
will show you a shortcut down to the 50th floor. The levels all look the
same, but apparently someone restocked them with treasure since the last
time you were here. I'll finish it later...

Level: 1 Monsters: Fighterx3 Lv: 45
         Treasure: Fallen Rain
Level: 2 Monsters: Rabid Dogx4 Lv 45
         Treasure: Explosion Cymbals
Level: 3 Monsters: Rabid Dogx2 Lv45, Earth Devilx2 Lv45
         Treasure:
Level:48 Monsters: Ectoplasm, Black Fiend, Death Priest
Level:49 Monsters: Lich
         Treasure: Bravery Wings

=============================================================================
4-I. Misc.

Unstoppable Elc

  Ok, you know Elc's got an ability called Invincible, which makes him immune
to everything for a while, right? Ok, now, use that in conjunction with the
Romancing Stone(you have to import the 4 Romancing Stones from Arc 1 and
combine them) and you'll be able to cast Invincible for 0 MP. Now, what
makes this really good is that once you have a high enough level of counter-
attack, you will be countering every single attack against you. Let me
re-itterate, you'll be able to stand there and let the enemies try to hit you
while countering every single attack. Worried about magicians? Don't be,
once they get in close enough, they use physical attacks. Pretty neat, huh?
Also, once you've gotten the Necklace back from your Arc 1 data, you can put
that on Elc to get some massive HP bonuses when he levels.
  And if all that weren't enough, invincible has a nice little tidbit to it
at higher levels. Basically, the level of the skill denotes how many turns
you have invincible. In other words, at level 1, you get 1 turn of
invincibility, the turn it's cast. At lv 2, you get the turn it's cast, plus
the next turn as well!

-----------------------------------
Combine Shop

  The purpose of the combine shop on Yagos Isle is to make new items from old
items. It's really a simple concept, if you've got the items needed, you can
make a new, usually better item by combining them all. Make sure you
actually want to do the combining though, it's a one way street.
