I have received many questions regarding certain puzzles like the tomb wall and the mummy caves
and certain problems experienced in the game. With this latest revision of my walkthrough for
Gabriel Knight 1, hopefully some of those problems will be cleared up for you. If not, contact me and
I'll fix them.

Now for the walkthrough:

DAY 1

The game begins at St. George's Book Store, located in the French Quarter of New Orleans,
Louisiana. After you've watched the somewhat amusing opening scene; talk to Grace Nakimura, the
gal who sits at the desk. Get all of your messages (the last one will be when she mentions that your
pal Mosely called). When you're done, pick up the tweezers and magnifying glass that are on the
table near the bottom of your screen.

Walk over to the bookshelf and use the HAND icon on the upper left corner of the bookshelf to find a
book by Heinz Ritter. When Gabriel has finished reading it, click on the opposite corner to find a
book about snakes. When Gabe's done reading that, OPEN up the cash register and take the gift
certificate you find inside. Walk back over to the table and read the newspaper. (From here on out,
I'll refer to it as the daily routine)

Leave the shop and let's get formally introduced to the MAP. To get from place to place, click on its
corresponding icon, it's as simple as that, unless you have to go to some place such as Grandma
Knight's house, which just happens to be our first destination, then it can be a little complicated. To
get Gran's house, click on one of the New Orleans buttons that are situated to left and right sides of
the map. Click on the picture of a woman and Gabe will drive to Gran's house.

When you can, use the QUESTION icon on Gran. When the dialogue tree pops up, ask her about the
Knight Family. You'll be presented with more choices, talk about all three Knights (Gabe's grandpa,
father, and mother) until she's told you all that she can. Exit the dialogue tree and use the WALK
icon on the stairs so Gabe will head upstairs.

In the attic, there's a book that's sitting on the left arm of the chair (if you were behind the chair
and
looked at the book, it'd be on the left arm, otherwise, it's on the right arm). Go into your inventory
(move your mouse up to the top of the screen and click on the button that looks like a pouch) and
use the READ icon on the sketchbook.

Exit out of your inventory and use the OPERATE icon on the nearby clock (it's yellow and it's below
the skylight). In the close-up view, Use the PUSH/PULL icon on the clock hands and set them to 3:00.
After that, use the same icon on the dial around the clock face and rotate it so that the Dragon
picture is above the 12. Use the OPERATE icon on the key and a drawer should open up. If it doesn't,
you've done something wrong. Get the photo and letter that you find inside. Go into your inventory
and read the letter.

Head downstairs and speak to Gran about Heinz Ritter until she can't tell you anymore. Leave the
house. On the Map, click on the French Quarter icon (it's the only icon on that part of the map
besides the one for Gran's house) and then click on the PD badge icon to go the New Orleans Police
Station.

When you arrive at the station, use the QUESTION icon on the desk sergeant (whom I'll refer to as
Officer Frick, as that's his name). Ask him about Detective Mosely and then ask him about the
photographs (I swear it's the same guy, who does the voice of Lucky Piquel from the Bonkers
cartoon, though I could be wrong). Exit the dialogue tree and you'll get the photos.

Go into your inventory and open up the manila envelope and look at the murder picture. Leave the
station and make your next destination Jackson Square (its icon looks like a park bench). Go to the
northwest section of the circle (in other words, one screen west, one screen north) and here you will
see a mime who likes to make people mad by following them around whenever they walk too close.

Be like those people and walk close to the mime, and he should start following you. Head back to the
motorcycle cop, but be careful not to get too close to the other people who're travelling around the
park as the mime will lose interest in you and he'll choose to follow them and you'll have to start all
over.

When you finally get to the cop, the mime will start acting like a monkey and such, which will make
the cop mad and he'll then chase him off. When the cop is gone, use the OPERATE icon on the
motorcycle to overhear some dialogue between the dispatcher and some paramedic who got lost.
When you're finished, leave Jackson Square and head to the crime scene (click on the New Orleans
button and then the icon that looks like police tape).

When you arrive, watch the sequence. You'll get to meet Malia Gedde, a woman who comes from a
wealthy family. When it's finished, LOOK at the vv marks that you can see on the ground. Use
your magnifying glass on the marks in the grass located near the right hand side of your screen.
Bring out your tweezers and use them on the snake scale you find there. Leave the view and use
your sketchbook on the vv marks you saw on the ground. Go over to the lakeshore and pick up
some clay and then leave the crime scene and drive on over to the Police Department.

Ask Officer Frick about Mosely and he'll let you go on back. Use the OPEN icon on Mosely's door.
Use the QUESTION icon on Mosely and ask him about the patterns, and then ask him about the other
six patterns. Leave Mosely's office for a moment and TALK to Officer Franks (the female officer).
When some choices come up, choose the GET FILE option. If you want, you can go into your
inventory and take a look at the pictures. When you're done, put it into Franks' in-box. Go back into
Mosely's office and QUESTION him about getting a picture taken (it's the photographs option). When
the next set of choices come up, choose the cop/author photo option. Watch the little sequence and
when your next set of choices come up, choose to go check your hair. Take the file you put in
Franks' in-box and use it on the copier (it's to the left of Mosely's door). When you're done, put the
file back into Franks' in-box and head back into Mosely's office. When you are able to leave the
station, head to the Dixieland Drug Store (click on the icon that looks like a voodoo doll).

When you're in the store, read the sign that is sitting to the far left side of the counter and then use
the murder photo on the clerk, Willy Walker. Make a note that he says the phrase 'cabrit sans cor'.
Leave the shop and head to St. George's Books (click on the icon that looks somewhat like a knight).
When you arrive, ask Grace to do some research on Malia Gedde and the first day will end here.

DAY 2

Watch the opening scene and do your daily routine. Leave the bookstore and head over to the Police
Dept. Ask Frick about Mosely and then go use the OPERATE icon on the thermostat near Mosely's
door. Change the temperate so it's at least 75 degrees. Go into Mosely's office and ask him for some
coffee. While he's gone, TAKE the badge off of his jacket. Leave Mosely's office and waltz on over to
Jackson Square.

Go the northeast corner of the Square (one screen north). Leave the section and then reenter. Watch
as the wind blows the artist's painting away. Head over to the southwest corner (one screen south,
one screen west) and notice that there is a boy dancing for the hot dog vendor. Use the gift
certificate on the vendor and you'll get a Lucky Dog. Use the hot dog on the boy and he'll help you
out if you need it. Use the TALK (!) icon on the boy and ask him to get the painting that's on the
other side of the fence in the northwest section.

Once you have the painting, go back to the northeast corner and return the painting to its rightful
owner. Use the six patterns drawing on the artist and then the pattern that you got from the crime
scene at Lake Pontchartrain. Leave Jackson Square and go to the Gedde Estate (Click on the New
Orleans map button, and then click on the mansion icon).

When you arrive, use the OPERATE icon on the doorknocker and the butler will answer the door.
When the butler gets around to asking who you are, show him Mosely's badge and the butler will let
you in. When Malia enters the room, use the QUESTION icon and pick these choices in order:

1) Voodoo (twice)
2) Lake Pontchartrain
3) Flirt with her

As a result, Gabe will be kicked out of the house, so leave the estate and go to the Voodoo Museum
(Click on the French Quarter icon and click on the African mask icon) Here you'll meet Dr. John.
QUESTION him about Voodoo, and then ask him about Modern Voodoo until he starts repeating
himself. Do the same thing for Historical Voodoo and Marie Laveau. Leave the shop and go to St.
Louis Cemetery #1 (Click on the angel statue icon).

When you get there, use the QUESTION icon on the watchman and ask him about Marie Laveau until
he repeats himself and then ask him about Other Marked Tombs. Use your sketchbook on the
symbols that have been written on the side of the Laveau tomb. When you're finished, leave the
cemetery and go to Magentia Moonbeam's residence (Click on the crystal ball icon).

At Magentia's, use the QUESTION icon and ask her about these topics in order (Problem #1 for some
people because they couldn't get the snake topic to come up):

1) Voodoo
2) St. John's Eve
3) Snakes
4) Grimwald

When a list of choices come up, ask her to show Gabe how she handles the snake and you'll be
treated with a dance from Magentia Moonbeam. While she's dancing and you have control of the
mouse, use the HAND icon on the snakeskin that's in the cage. When you sit back down and
Magentia has finished her dance, use the tomb message you got a few minutes ago from the
cemetery to get it translated. She knows what most of the message says, but she gets hung up on
the words, 'fwet kash'.

After that, go into your inventory and use the magnifying glass on the snakeskin, you'll discover that
it doesn't match the scale you got from the crime scene. Leave the place and go to the Dixieland
Drug Store (I'll refer to it as the Voodoo shop from now on).

In the Voodoo shop, an elderly lady with a somewhat hoarse voice will come in. Her name is Madame
Cazaunoux. By the sounds of it, she's a friend with Willy because she'll start talking about some
problems she's been having with a rival neighbor of hers. She believes it's all Voodoo related (but I
doubt it). When she leaves, use the QUESTION icon on Willy and ask him about Animal Masks and
then about Willy Jr. He will tell you that he'll sell the mask for no less than $100. Leave the shop and
head to the bookstore.

Once there, ask Grace to do some research on Madame Cazaunoux. This marks the end of the
second day.

DAY 3

Watch the opening scene again and then ask Grace for all of your messages. Be sure to ask for
Wolfgang Ritter's phone number as well. Do your daily routine and if Bruno the florist walks in, sell
him the painting. Use the WALK icon on the curtain near Grace's desk to walk back into Gabriel's
studio. Go into the bathroom and take the small red bottle of hair gel that's in the cabinet. Go into
your inventory and look at the torn page that Grace gave you. Use the OPERATE icon on the
telephone and click the ON button. Dial 555-1280 to get Madame Cazaunoux's residence. After that,
dial 555-6170 to get the Cajun Critters Veterinary Clinic. When a list of choices come up, ask if they
have Madame Cazaunoux as a patient and when your second set of choices come up, choose 'I'm
worried about Castro. He's missed three dance lessons'. After you're finished, dial 49-09-324-3333 to
get Schloss Ritter, Wolfgang Ritter's residence. Listen to what he has to say and then leave the
bookstore and go to Jackson Square.

Go to the northeast corner and talk to the artist to get your complete pattern. After that, walk over to
the northwest corner and walk over towards the fortuneteller. She'll start dancing. When she's
finished, pick up her veil. Go into your inventory and use the magnifying glass to inspect the veil.
You'll notice that there is a snake scale on the veil, so exit the close-up view and use the tweezers
on the veil to pick it off of there. Give the veil back to the fortuneteller and you'll be rewarded with
a
palm reading. Be sure to compare the snake scales in your inventory and then head back to the
bookstore.

If you haven't sold the painting to Bruno yet, do it now. If he doesn't show up right away, wait a bit
and he will. Once you've sold it, you'll now have $100 in your pocket.

Ask Grace to do some research on the vv pattern that you got back from the artist. Leave the store
and go to the Voodoo shop. When you get to the store, give the $100 to Willy and you'll get the mask
and a lagniappe (As Gabe says, everyone in New Orleans knows it means a little something extra)
since your purchase was over $50. Leave the shop and go to the Police Dept.

Don't bother asking Frick about Mosely, just head on back to his office. When you enter, watch the
sequence and when it's over, leave and go to St. Louis Cemetery #1. Go three screens to the right
and watch the next sequence between Malia and Gabe. When it's finished, leave the cemetery and go
to Tulane University (click on the New Orleans map button, and then the graduate's mortarboard
icon).

You can relax again; so listen to the long (and boring) lecture. When it's finished and Gabe is awake,
go back into Professor Hartridge's office (it's the door on the left, near the stage). Use the vv
pattern on Hartridge and then the murder photo. Use your QUESTION icon on him and ask him about
cabrit sans cor and black Voodoo. After you've got what you needed, leave the university and go to
the St. Louis Cathedral (click on the French Quarter icon and click on the icon that looks like the top
half of a church).

Open the door on the opposite side of where Gabriel enters (in other words, go to the door on the
right hand side of the screen, it's not that hard to miss). Inside, pick up a priest's collar from the
box
on the left-hand side of the closet and pick up the black priest's robe. Leave the church and go to
Madame Cazaunoux's residence (the dog icon).

While you're standing outside, use the priest's outfit on Gabe and then the hair gel. Use the
OPERATE icon on the doorknocker. When she answers the door and you're presented with choices,
choose the Father McLaughlin one. She'll let you in and ask her about cabrit sans cor. When she
asks what you think it means, choose 'goat without horns'. Ask her about human sacrifice, real
Voodoo queens, and Voodoo hounfour (temple). When you can, use the clay on the snake bracelet
to get an impression of it. When the sequence is over, leave the house and go to the Napoleon
House (the icon that looks like a bust of Napoleon).

Once there, ask Stonewall (the bartender) about Voodoo, and then ask him about the bar patrons
twice and then about Sam and Voodoo. Afterwards, use the gamblin' oil on Sam (the guy in purple). I
don't think it matters too much which choices you choose, but I really don't know since I haven't
tried combinations yet. After Sam beats Markus, use the clay impression on Sam. Leave the
Napoleon House and the third day will end.

DAY 4

This day's short, so do your daily routine and then head to Napoleon House. Watch the sequence
and Gabe will get the snake bracelet from Sam. Leave and go to the Jackson Square Overlook (its
icon looks like a top view of a pair of binoculars).

NOTE: If you want to, go to Jackson Square first and go to the northeast corner. You will see Crash
hanging out with a drummer. If you get too close to Crash, he'll just saunter off somewhere else. I
don't believe this will affect any later gameplay. (I got this part out of the Sins of the Fathers novel
by
Jane Jensen)

At the Overlook, use the OPERATE icon on the far left pair of binoculars. If you look towards the
northeast corner of the Square, you'll see Crash talking to the drummer. Leave the Overlook and go
to the St. Louis Cathedral.

You'll see that Crash is here and hanging out in one of the church pews. Use the snake bracelet on
him and Crash will become paranoid when he sees that you have it. He'll tell you of a snake tattoo
that he has on his chest. Use the QUESTION icon on him and ask him about Drummers and
Hounfour. After you're done asking these questions, Crash will die (how?).

Use your LOOK icon on him (ugly, isn't he?) and use the OPEN icon on his shirt. Use the sketchbook
on the tattoo and then leave the cathedral. This is the end of the fourth day.

DAY 5

At the beginning of the day, you'll get a package from Wolfgang Ritter. Do your daily routine and go
into your inventory and read both the letter and journal that you just got. Ask Grace to do some
research on Rada drums. Leave the store and go to Tulane University.

Head back into Hartridge's office and you'll find out that Hartridge is dead (not another one!). Use
the HAND icon on his desk and you'll find some of his notes. Leave the university and go to the
Voodoo Museum.

The first thing you'll notice is that the lights are off. If you're really thorough, you'll notice
something
up above you. As soon as you're done looking around, Dr. John's snake will drop down and start
choking you. When you have control, get Gabe to turn on the lights by using the OPERATE icon on
the switch near the door. Dr. John will walk in and tell Gabe that the museum was closed and they
weren't expecting any visitors. Leave the museum and go to the bookstore.

When you first enter, Grace will wonder what happened to Gabe and notice that he looks a little
"green". She'll then notice something on Gabe and she'll go and take it off and put it in the ashtray.
Use the tweezers on the small green ashtray and you'll find that is was a snake scale that Grace
pulled off. Use the magnifying glass on the scale to find out it's exactly like the one you found at the
crime scene! Leave the store and go to the cemetery.

Use the sketchbook on the new set of marks on the tomb. Go into your inventory and use that set of
codes on the already translated ones to decipher part of the new message. Wait until the watchman
leaves and then pick up the brick and use it on the tomb. (Problem #2: People have emailing me
saying they couldn't get the message right, so here's a better version of the solution, I hope.)

The message you need to write on the tomb is 'DJ bring sekey madoule'. Notice that there are three
question marks for some of the symbols. The first question mark you come across is actually a Y,
the second question mark is a U, and the third question mark you come across is the M. You can
click on any letter to write the message, but make use of those question marks to help complete the
message. Hopefully, Gabe won't erase the message and you'll be able to continue on with the game.
If you still need help figuring out the puzzle, please contact me and I'll help ya out to the best of my
ability. If you managed to solve the puzzle, leave the cemetery and go to Jackson Square.

Go to the northwest corner and use the TALK icon on the fortuneteller. Notice her appearance when
you talk to her, it appears she was possessed or something. She'll warn you to stay away from Malia
Gedde, otherwise you'll pay with your life and then she'll mysteriously disappear. Leave the Square
and let's go check on our pal Mosely.

Like with the Crash interview, just head on back to Mosely's office. Use the QUESTION icon on
Mosely and ask him to reopen the case (Problem #3: People have emailed me saying they couldn't
get him to reopen the case. Solution: Read the next part carefully). He won't do it unless you can
give him a reason why you should. For your reason, show him the reconstructed vv pattern, then
Hartridge's notes, then the 1810 newspaper clipping, and Dr. John's snake's scales. Mosely will
become convinced and he'll reopen the case. Leave the police station and the fifth day will end here.

DAY 6

At the beginning of the day, Grace will walk in and she'll get freaked out when she sees a near dead
rooster on the floor surrounded by some sort of sign. Gabriel will come out of his studio and tells
Grace to get some coffee while he cleans up the mess. Before she leaves, Grace will start to become
a bit paranoid as she realizes that the Voodoo murderers know where Gabe lives now. Gabriel will
then reassure her that everything is all right.

After that sequence, Grace will give you the Rada drum book. Do your daily routine and pick up the
envelope that will eventually come through the mail slot. Go into your inventory and use the OPEN
icon to open up the envelope. Inside you'll find a key and a letter. Read the letter to find out that
the
envelope was dropped off by Mosely. Use the tattoo tracing on Grace and when the choices come
up, first choose the Costume Party option and then choose the If Your Jealous option. When it's
finished, go to the Square.

Go to the southwest corner and use the TALK icon on the beignet vendor. Here are the choices you
should choose:

1) Haven't I seen you before?
2) Weren't you at Royal and Conti?
3) Why don't you go back there?
4) I think you should go back to Royal and Conti.

Leave the Square and go to the Police Dept.

This next part can be frustrating for some people who have a faster computer. To get through this
next part, if you are playing Gabriel Knight 1 that came with the Gabriel Knight Mysteries Limited
Edition box set, then there is a turbo utility that you can use to slow down your computer (I don't
recommend using it because I don't think it actually works). Otherwise, go to Download.com and get
CPUKiller 2.0 (it's the best one to use). When you have it installed, run the program and move the
slider so that the Slow Down Factor is at least 30%. Click on the Start button within the program and
continue on with the next part. Just be sure to leave the CPUKiller running until you are finished with
the next part.

When Gabriel arrives at the Dept., the beignet guy you talked to at the Square will show up outside.
Franks and Frick will leave to go buy some beignets. While they're gone, high tail it into Mosely's
office by using the OPEN icon on the swinging door and then Mosely's key on the door. If you
happen to screw-up, don't worry. Just do the previous part again, but wait until Frick goes to sleep
before you do it.

Once you get into Mosely's office, use the OPEN icon on the lower brown desk drawer. Use the
HAND icon on it and Gabe will bring out a tracker and two signal devices. Leave the station and go
to the Square.

Go to the northeast corner and use the Rada drum book on the drummer. The translation for his
drumming is 'call conclave, tonight, swamp' so be sure to click on those to get the points. After
you're finished, leave the Square and go to the Voodoo Museum.

Use a signal device on the small coffin (the sekey madoule) near the door and Gabriel will slip one
in. Leave the Museum and go to Bayou St. John (Click on the New Orleans map button and click on
the tree icon). This next puzzle isn't really that difficult. (Problem #4: People have emailed me about
how to use the tracker, so hopefully this next part will help you out better).

Use the tracking device (not a signal device) on Gabriel. You'll notice a small blip on the tracker
screen on the lower right hand corner of your screen. To figure out where the blip will take you, if
it's
facing to the absolute north, then have Gabriel walk to the absolute north of your screen. If it's
facing northwest, click on the northwest corner of your screen, and so on. You'll know that you have
reached your next destination when the blip is in the center of the tracking screen.

When you reach the entrance to the conclave, use the crocodile mask on Gabriel and he'll put it on
and walk himself in. When Dr. John walks up to Gabriel and asks him the first question, reply
'Damballah'. When he asks whom the destroyer of men is, reply 'Ogoun Badagris'. Sit back, relax,
and grab a snack if you want, and watch the sequence. The sixth day will end here.

DAY 7

In Gabriel's studio, pick up the flashlight that sits on the right side of his dresser. Use the OPERATE
icon on the phone and call Wolfgang (His number is 49-09-324-3333 in case you forgot). Ask him
about Tetelo, and then ask him about the talisman twice, then Tetelo's remains, and lastly, the
African homeland. When you're finished, leave the studio and do your daily routine. Leave the store
and go to the cemetery.

Go to the Gedde crypt and use the OPERATE icon on the red button. Once inside, go into your
inventory and bring out the flashlight. Click somewhere and Gabe will turn it on. Focus the flashlight
towards the middle crypt drawer (it has a ring on it) and open it up. You'll discover Mosely's body!
Gabriel will become shocked and drop his flashlight. Before he can pick it up, he's hit on the head
and knocked out for a few minutes.

When he comes to, he'll get the flashlight. Open up the middle drawer again and get Mosely's wallet.
Go into your inventory and open it up and you'll get Mosely's credit card. Use the OPERATE icon on
the red button on the right side of the room to exit the crypt. Leave the cemetery and go back to the
bookstore.

Go into the studio and use the OPERATE icon on the phone. Dial 585-1130 to get the C the World
Travel Agency. When a list of choices come up, choose the one that deals with 'Rittersberg,
Germany'. When the next set of choices come up, say 'Charge it to my Americans Repressed'. Leave
the shop and go to the New Orleans Int'l Airport (click on the New Orleans map button and click on
the plane icon). Gabriel will automatically get his tickets and fly to Rittersberg.

You'll soon arrive at Schloss Ritter. Once there, head upstairs and enter the bedroom. Use the LOOK
icon on the writing above the locked door inside the room. Head back downstairs and go into the
chapel (it's in the next screen when you walk off to the right). Use the LOOK icon on the panels and
then head back out into the main area.

Use the QUESTION icon on Gerde and ask her about the portal poem, the chapel panels, and the
initiation ceremony. Head back up to the bedroom. Use the OPEN icon on the nearby window and
use the OPERATE icon on the snow. Pick up the scissors that sit on the dresser near the door and
use the scissors on Gabriel. Pick up the chamber pot that also sits on the dresser and get the scroll
that hangs on the wall just above the dresser. Go downstairs.

Get the knife that hangs on the wall near the staircase (it may be a bit hard to see, but it's near the
lion's head). Pick up the salt shaker, which sits on the floor near Gerde. Head into the chapel. Use
the chamber pot on the altar (the brown table that is below the stained glass window). Use the salt
shaker on the pot and then use the knife on Gabe. Use the OPERATE icon on the altar and then use
the scroll on Gabe. Watch the little sequence and the seventh day will end.

DAY 8

When Gabe awakes, pick up the key that is sitting on the table near the bed. Use the key on the
portal door. In the library, look at the lower part of the center back-wall shelves and use the HAND
icon in that area. When Gabe's finished reading, look at the upper-right corner of the right back-wall
shelves and use the HAND icon there.

Use the LOOK icon on the left wall bookcase and read the book there. Do the same things for the
upper-left part of the left back-wall shelves and the lower right part of the right back-wall shelves.
Gabe will decide to keep the snake book, so leave the library and head downstairs. Use the book
from the library on Gerde and she'll go and get a flight scheduled for Gabe. When a list of choices
come up, use the credit card response. The eighth day will end when Gabe leaves for Africa.

DAY 9

When you arrive at the Wheel-Within-A-Wheel, walk Gabe down to the caves. This next puzzle is
tough, so please read carefully (Problem #5: People have no clue what to do. Solution: Like it said in
my last version, READ CAREFULLY!). If you still don't understand this puzzle, you're going to have
some problems later. When you enter, designate the room Gabe is in now as Room 6. If you go north
one room, that is Room 7. If you go down one room from Room 6, that is Room 5. North from Room
6 = Rooms 7-12, south of Room 6 = Rooms 1-5. Okay, let's start working on solving the puzzle.

From Room 6, go through all of the rooms picking up all of the tiles. Some of them you don't need to
worry about as they are already in the right spot. When you get to Room 9 be sure to get any tiles
lying around on the ground or in the wall and also be sure to pick up the snake rod.

After you've gotten all of the tiles that you can, start putting them in the right rooms. If you're not
sure which tile goes where, go into your inventory and use the LOOK icon on them. You can tell
you've put the tiles in the right spot because you'll hear the chime that sounds whenever you score
points. When you've heard the chime, go up (or down) to Room 3. SAVE YOUR GAME! The next part
is very tricky and can result in Gabriel's death.

Put the snake rod in the knothole that is in the tile and watch as several creatures come to life
(Oooooh, crap). From Room 3, high tail it up to Room 7 while avoiding those creatures. When you
reach Room 6, there are some thick vines up overhead, use the OPERATE icon on them and Gabriel
will swing into the next room (Yeehaw!). When you get to Room 7, Wolfgang will appear and start
fighting off those creatures. When you have control, use the snake rod on the knothole that is just
inside the doorway.

You'll now be inside the Inner Wheel. Walk one screen to the east and use the LOOK icon on the
bars that are near the table. Use the LOOK icon on the tabletop. Use the HAND icon on the bars and
Gabriel and Wolfgang will put them into the table. Do this a second time to put the other bar into the
table. Use the OPERATE icon (or it could be the PUSH/PULL icon) on the bars to find out that you
can't lift it without a heart to place in the middle.

Walk back one screen to the west and use the knife on the dead creature. Doing this will result in
Uncle Wolfgang's death (oh no!) and Gabriel cursing Tetelo for what she has done. The ninth day
will end.

DAY 10

This is the last day of the game, so let's continue. When you get back to New Orleans, go to the
bookstore to find Grace missing (this keeps getting worse and worse). Read the newspaper and then
get the envelope that is sitting near the cash register. Mosely will come out from the studio and there
will be a brief conversation between Gabe and Mosely.

When you're in the studio, ask Mosely about making a plan. Leave the store and go to the Cathedral.
Enter the far right confessional (the confessionals are located on the wall on the left side of your
screen). Inside, use the snake rod on the knothole (it's hard to see, but it's near the upper right
corner of the confessional) and when your elevator trip is over, use the snake rod on the
confessional and be sure to use the remaining signal device on it as well.

You are now in the Voodoo hounfour. Before we start, please take the time to save your game
because there are some parts that may result in Gabe's death if you're not careful, so read the rest
of this walkthrough very carefully.

Use the OPERATE icon on the control pad near the other door and you'll exit out into the main
hallway. This area has some similarities with the Wheel puzzle, but this one isn't difficult at all if
you
read carefully. Go up one screen to Room 7. Use the OPERATE icon on the door's control pad and
go inside. Use the HAND icon on the wolf and boar masks and use the HAND icon twice on the coat
rack to get a costume to go along with the wolf and boar masks.

Leave the room and go down three screens to Room 4. If you're having a hard time telling which
room is which, take a look at the red marks above the door. Counting them will tell you the room
number. Enter Room 4 and take the black notebook off of the desk. Leave Room 4 and go up
towards Room 5, but don't enter it. Instead, there's a hallway that runs off to the right. Follow it and
you'll end up in the ceremonial room.

Use the OPERATE icon on the nearest set of drums. Send the message 'Summon Brother Eagle' by
clicking on Summon in the first book and clicking on Brother Eagle in the other one. Click on the
EXIT button and Gabriel will send the message. There is a timer now in affect for Dr. John's arrival,
so act quickly. Leave via the northeast hallway. Go to Room 2, enter it, and pick up the card that is
hanging on the opposite wall.

Leave Room 2 and go down to Room 1. Use the keycard on the control pad. Enter it and use the
HAND icon on the money three times. Head to Room 11. Use the keycard on the control pad, enter,
and then immediately leave. Go down to Room 8, unlock it, and enter.

Inside, you will see Grace lying on a bed. Mosely should enter if you've left him the signal device and
the snake rod back in the confessional, otherwise Dr. John will show up, which means you're
screwed. If Mosely entered, continue on. If not, reload your game.

Use the talisman on Grace and she will recover. Use the boar outfit on Mosely and then the wolf
outfit on Gabriel. Dr. John will come in and you'll be told to go to the ceremonial room. Watch the
sequence and when you have control, use the talisman on Tetelo and then toss it to Mosely when
you can. They'll run off and it's time for the final encounter between Malia/Tetelo and Gabriel Knight.

When Tetelo is poised to slice Gabe open, use the HAND icon on the idol that's underneath the
tabletop and when Malia/Tetelo is hanging from the edge of a crevasse, you have a choice to make.
You can either betray Malia, or save her. To betray her, just stay where you're at or use the knife on
her. To save her, use the HAND icon on her. Congrats! You've just beaten Gabriel Knight: Sins of the
Fathers! I scored 338 points out of 342 when I beat the game, so I'll have to go and see where the
missing four points are so that I can include them within this walkthrough. Sit back, relax, and watch
the ending.

NOTE: Betraying Malia will result in Gabriel's death, and the alternate ending will show Mosely and
Grace talking. If you betray her, you won't be able to get all of the points.
