3. Introduction
---------------
***************

Donald Duck Goin' Quackers! is an adventure style game released, in a joint
effort, by Ubi Soft and Disney Interactive. In the game, you take control of
the famous Donald Duck and go through various levels, defeat bosses, and meet
new people in hopes of reaching your ultimate goal of rescuing Daisy. This
guide will cover everything from the items in the game, the characters you'll
meet, to the bosses you'll find, and the locations of hidden items to make
sure that you do rescue Daisy.

*************
-------------
4. Characters
-------------
*************

=============
A. The Allies
=============

Donald Duck - The hero and the character you take control of for the game.
His ultimate mission is to save Daisy from Merlock. Make sure he succeeds!

Daisy - Daisy is Donald's girlfriend and the one he is rescuing from Merlock.
In this game, she assumes the role of a reporter and is captured while airing
her story.

Gyro Gearloose - Gyro is Donald's aide for the entire game. He provides the
pathways to other worlds using his teleporters to get you there. You need to
help out Gyro, though, to get all of his teleporters working again.

Huey, Dewey, and Louie - These are Donald Duck's three nephews and he meets
one of them in each level of the game. You need to help the nephews out to
gain access to other areas in the game by rescuing their toys that Merlock
has under his power.

Gladstone Gander - Gladstone is Donald's friend, but he is also his rival in
trying to win Daisy. Gladstone travels through the game and you may come
across him if you know where to look.

==============
B. The Enemies
==============

Bernadette The Bird - Bernadette is the first boss that you encounter and you
can find her at the top of Duckie Mountain. Bernadette is basically a big,
yellow bird that will try to kill you in all kinds of ways.

The Beagle Boys - Donald will encounter one of these guys after completing
the second level. The Boys rule over the tallest building in the city of
Duckburg. Be on your toes for these boys, there's no telling what they'll
do.

Magica De Spell - Magica is a very powerful witch and she can be found in a
flying mansion. She hates Donald very much and will use all the magic she
can muster to finish him once and for all.

Merlock - Merlock is the reason for Donald's whole adventure because he is
the one responsible for Daisy's capture. He has all kinds of mystical, evil
powers and will do anything to prevent Donald from succeeding in his quest.

********
--------
5. Items
--------
********

Yellow Stars - Many of these stars are scattered all over Donald's world, and
if you collect 100, you get an extra life. Make sure to collect all that you
can!

Blue Stars - These are just like the yellow stars except these are equal to
10 yellow stars.

Red Stars - These are the most valuable of the stars because they are worth
20 yellow stars.

Courier Box Gadget - Gyro has scattered these boxes all over the levels to
help you out. They can be found flying in the air or lying on the ground.
Make sure to destroy these boxes to collect bonus stars.

Milkshake - This is a very worthwhile power-up that gives Donald full health,
and makes him go into hyper mode, which sends him sprinting and makes him run
any enemy out of the way. Collect these whenever you see them!

Extra Life - This is just as the name implies, an extra life. These are in
the shape of Donald's head and are found floating around the Levels.

Warp Boss - One piece of the warp boss teleporter pad can be found in every
Level. You must collect four of these, one from each Level, to unlock the
boss.

Toy - There is a different kind of toy found in each level of the game.
There are three toys found in each Level making a total of twelve toys per
level. If you collect all the toys, the nephew will let you in the Level he
is guarding. But to collect the toys, you must destroy..

Merlock's Spell Book - You must destroy the spell book that has control over
the toy before you are able to pick it up. Be quick, though, because the
book will come back after a certain amount of time!

Checkpoint - If you cross one of these checkpoints, Donald's progress is
automatically saved and he will reappear there is he dies. You will see the
checkpoints because they're indicated by finish lines and a robot standing on
the edge of the line.

===========
A. Controls
===========

The controls of this game will be easy to figure out and get used to and
should be tested at the first chance you get to control Donald.

D-Pad - Used to run around the area you're in
Start - Pauses the game
A Button - Jump (Hold the button longer for higher jumping)
A, while in the air, A again - Jump and then double jump when A is pressed
B Button - Attack Button (Hold B to attack with more punches)
Y Button - View Donald's Status
R Trigger - View Donald's Status
A and, while in the air, B - Jump kick, you can do a double jump and kick

==================
B. Quick Guide Key
==================

- I will refer to each area in the game as a world.
- The teleporters in the level will take you to an area I'll call a level.
- I will simply list the commands of actions and you should know the button
to perform them.
- I'll call the pads that you step on to take you to other worlds,
teleporters.
- The levels I list are in clockwise order starting with the one in the lower
left corner of the world. I just beat the levels in that order, but you can
beat them in any order that you want.
- The fifth level in a world is the level accessed by collecting all of the
nephews' toys in that particular area. This level is always a chase sequence
and you meet Gladstone at the end of it to get challenged to beat his best
times.

================
C. Miscellaneous
================

- Donald can only be hit two times before he dies, so be sure to watch your
health carefully.
- After being hit once, Donald will go berserk and punch anything out of the
way, be sure to take full advantage of this and charge all the enemies.
- Getting a milkshake refills Donald's health and makes him sprint and punch
the enemies out of the way. Make sure to collect all milkshakes.
- Look at Donald's face in the upper right corner to check on your health
status.
- The toys you collect go in the order they appear at the bottom of the
screen. If you collect a toy and it appears in the second question mark, you
passes the first one and should go back to get it. Also, the boss pad piece
is always found after collecting the second toy.
- I won't list the location of every single star in the game because the
majority of them are in the middle of the path. I will give details on how
to locate hidden ones, though.
- Save your progress constantly. I had once cleared out an entire world and
didn't have many lives. I got killed on a boss and lost all of my progress
and had to repeat it all. Don't let this happen to you.
- Persistence is the key, don't give up after dying a couple times. You will
die a number of times, simply because Donald can only get hit twice. Keep at
it.

7. Walkthrough
--------------
**************

You begin the game by seeing an FMV sequence introducing you to Gladstone,
Gyro, and Daisy. You see Daisy doing a report from Merlock's lair where he,
surprisingly, captures her. Gladstone runs through a portal to rescue her
and you learn from Gyro that he'll help you, but the teleporters are low on
power. You then take charge in Gyro's Workshop. I suggest you familiarize
yourself with the controls here. You will see one teleporter, a glass
looking circle on the floor, is available and three others that are blocked
by energy waves. Enter the available teleporter to access World 1 - Duckie
Mountain.

============================
A. World 1 - Duckie Mountain
============================

You encounter your first world that looks like the middle of a forest kind of
area. You will see four teleporters and one big teleporter that has a metal
plate over it. This is the boss pad that will be partially unlocked after
each level. You will also see one of your nephews standing on top of a
teleporter. He will explain that there are three boxes below each level. If
you get a green light in the first box, it means you collected all the toys
on that level. If you get a yellow one, you collect the boss pad piece on
that level. If you get a red one, you beat Gladstone's record time on that
level. You can't beat the record time yet, but it will be available after
you collect all the toys in this world. The nephew will also explain upon
further questioning that he will only let you enter the level he's guarding
after you've collecting all of his toys. I just wish you could punch this
idiot out of the way, but you can't, so collect all the toys. Enter the
first level at the lower left of the world.

++++++++++++++++++++++++
a. Level 1 - Forest Edge
++++++++++++++++++++++++

This is the very first level in the game and it is basically a tutorial type
level. Begin by going forward and stepping on a switch on the ground and
pressing A to activate the "Compacto-Screen-O-Matic." Gyro will appear on a
TV and tell you about these switches and that they'll give you advice. He'll
disappear telling you to look for other ones in the level. Continue forward
and activate the next switch that you come to where you'll learn about the
star system from Gyro. Go forward to collect your first stars and see them
added to your total in the upper left corner. Keep going forward to learn
about the double jump. Do a double jump to jump up on top of the ledge and
continue. Activate another switch to learn about the courier boxes and what
kinds there are. Walk forward and punch the courier box to release some blue
stars into the path. Collect these stars and be quick because they disappear
after a while. To get them, do a double jump from the path up on top of the
ledge. Do not fall into the little pit between the path and the cliff
because you won't be able to jump high enough from here.

Continue forward, punching to box to collect more stars, until you get to
another switch. Activate the switch to learn about the checkpoint system
from Gyro. Cross the CHEKCKPOINT and talk to Gyro again, this time learning
about the attack system. Go further down the path to encounter your first
enemy, a moose. Simply punch this guy to destroy him. Easy. Keep going,
destroy the skunk, and single jump up the stair like path. At the top, learn
about milkshakes and extra lives from Gyro. Walk forward, get the milkshake,
and charge down the path. Destroy the skunk cross the CHECKPOINT, and then
learn about toys and the spell books. Walk forward, punch the spell book,
and run down the path and run into the TOY, which is a teddy bear. You are
under a time limit for all the toys to collect, but this time limit is four
seconds, so it should be a piece of cake.

Destroy the skunk ahead, get the box for some stars, and fall into the pit up
ahead. In the pit, walk backwards toward the screen in the lower right part
of the pit to go under the ground and collect a red star and an extra life.
Get out of the pit and double jump up onto the top of the cliff. Cross the
CHECKPOINT, hit the spell book, which gives you a time of six seconds, double
jump to the next platform, kill the moose, double jump to the next platform
and collect the TOY. If you fall in the pit, just double jump up to a
platform to get out.

Grab the milkshake and charge the skunk. You'll arrive at a house like
structure in the middle of the path. Walk up the ramp and collect your first
BOSS PAD PIECE in the wall on the left side of the screen. Keep going, punch
the book, run backwards toward the screen, double jump up to the platform,
collect the red star, and grab the last TOY.

Fall off of the platform and walk down the path to find the exit from the
level. Stand on the teleporter and press A to exit. Congratulations, you've
beaten your first level, but don't think you've seen the last of this level.
You'll be back.

After exiting you'll see your boss pad piece fall onto the boss pad revealing
a quarter of the boss. You must collect all the pieces to activate the boss
pad, so go ahead and enter the next level.
