I swear...I come up with a different name for section 5.05 every time!  
Anyways, welcome to my Mega Man III FAQ.  This tries to get you through the 
game, and to get everything.  This game is a combination of four robots from 
Mega Man 3 (Snake Man, Gemini Man, Shadow Man, Spark Man) and four from Mega 
Man 4 (Dust Man, Skull Man, Dive Man, Drill Man).  This isn't the best 
Gameboy Mega Man (IV was), but this is better than II ^_^.  Each game has the 
techniques available from the game, which its last four robots are from.  If 
you need an example (which you probably do considering how complicated that 
was), here it is: Mega Man 4 was the very first game in which you can charge 
your buster.  Since four robots here come from Mega Man 4, you can charge 
your buster in this game.  Cool!  Anyways...

taken control of an oil platform and is drilling through the earth's 
crust. He plans to tap the energy generated by the earth's magma to fuel 
his newest robotic monstrosity! We need you to go in and melt this robot 
down to size."

"My intelligence sources say that Dr. Wily has eight of your old foes 
waiting for you, so I'll have Rush and Flip-Top meet you there. Get 
going and good luck."

As with my other Mega Man guides, I'll just outline the important stuff.  
Yeah. Remember: TAKE YOUR TIME, and CHARGE UP YOUR BUSTER GUN.

That's the order.  Yeah.

-=3.01: Snake Man=-

*To defeat the large snakes, wait until the coil you are on is at its 
highest, and then jump and shoot.

*The hammer joes (enemies that swing a ball over their head) can only be 
beaten when their eye is open, which is after he throws the ball.

*To get the Energy Tank, climb so that you are at the top of the ladder, yet 
are not on the next screen.  When the clamps are at the bottom, press A, and 
toward the other ladder.  Get to the edge of that ladder, and jump to the 
Energy Tank.

SNAKE MAN

Snake Man will run around the room, jumping, and shooting Search Snakes.  
There is no...good strategy.  Anticipate where he'll jump, and jump/slide 
over/under him.  Keep on blasting until he's gone.

-=3.02: Gemini Man=-

*To destroy the Metool Piledrivers, just shoot them in their head.

*When you shoot the bubbles, shoot at them with a charged blast.  This way, 
it'll go through the bubbles.  Also, if you choose to only fire a single 
shot, a robot will come out and attack you.

*When you get to the bubble part, use Rush Coil to get to the top level of 
bubbles to get an Energy Tank.

*Common sense is your friend

*To destroy the large penguins, shoot them in the handle (top of their head).

GEMINI MAN

This guy is...weird.  At the start, he splits in to two Geminis.  Use Search 
Snake on either of them.  If you take out the false clone, it hurts the real 
Gemini Man's style.  Otherwise, you still hurt the real one.  Watch out for 
his Gemini Laser, though.  Another odd thing: if there are still two of them, 
when you shoot, they stop completely, and shoot at you.  Odd...

-=3.03: Shadow Man=-

Shadow Man?  No Top Man?  NOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Oh well...

*When you jump on the black things, they count down, and explode.  The 
explosion has reach, so watch out!

*The grenade enemies have the same explosion.

*The enemies with the parachutes can be easily destroyed by a charged shot.

SHADOW MAN

This guy is as hard as ever.  Use Gemini Laser.  He'll start jumping toward 
you.  On occasion, he'll stop to shoot out two Shadow Blades.  Jump between 
them.  He'll also slide at you on occasion.  DON'T TRY TO JUMP OVER HIM 
unless you HAVE TO. Just keep backing up.  When you're against the wall, 
he'll do a high jump, which you can slide under. Also remember that if you 
miss with Gemini Laser, it'll bounce off walls.

-=3.04: Spark Man=-

*When you come to a brick blocking your path, shoot it, and go through the 
path quickly.

*Use Rush Coil to get the energy tank.

*Shortly after the energy tank, you'll come across platforms that have an 
arrow on them.  These go up.  Wait until they're high enough, and then step 
off them on to the next one.  The exception is to the one-platform gaps.

*When you get to the area with the long drop, you'll notice that there are 
spikes on the walls.  Make sure to avoid them! 

SPARK MAN

This room is oddly shaped.  Use Shadow Blades.  Make use of their multi-
directional aiming.  He'll jump around the room, and either shoot small 
sparks out in all directions, or shoot a large spark at you.  Both are easy 
enough to avoid.

Now in the middle is the Dr. W. sign.  Go to it.  You see Skull Castle.  The 
first room has two things: disappearing platforms and collapsing platforms.  
Time your jumps.  Now you fight a boss...

GIANT SUZY

Use Spark Shock for this.  It'll go around the room.  When it's on the 
bottom, jump over it.  When it bounces, slide under it.  Easy!

You got
    Nothing

You just continue on ^_^.  Now you come to a teleporter, which takes you to 
the stage select screen...

Order:

-=3.05: Dust Man=-

*When you get to large pits, normally a robot comes out.  Shoot it, and jump 
across.

*Shield robots are only vulnerable from behind.

*When you get to the crushers, shoot the top layer of blocks first.  This 
will help very well.

*Soon you'll come to a large pit of spikes that seems like you cannot get 
across it.  To get across, jump, use Rush Coil, and jump back.  Now jump out 
on to the Rush Coil, and use that to get all the way across.  Once you get 
across, use Coil again, and have it land on the spikes.  Use this to reach 
the ladder.

*When you fall down the pit, I've discovered that the right side is easier.

DUST MAN

This guy is easy.  He'll jump around the room.  Other than that, he has two 
attacks.  He'll stop and try to vacuum you in.  When he does, he is 
invincible.  Also he'll fire Dust Crusher at you.  When he does, it'll split 
in to four pieces that go diagonally.  Easy to avoid.  Use Mega Buster to 
beat him.

-=3.06: Skull Man=-

*Make sure that you hit the bone throwing skeletons with a full charged shot.  
Otherwise, he'll fall down in a pile of bones, and come back.

*You cannot hurt the bats until they fly at you.

*To get the Energy Tank, use Rush Coil on the right platform, and jump up to 
the one with the tank.

SKULL MAN

He's very predictable.  Use Dust Crusher.  He'll jump; use Skull Barrier, 
jump, shoot, and start over.  He doesn't shoot his Skull Barrier, so you just 
wait for him to lower it before shooting.

-=3.07: Dive Man=-

*This place has more spikes than a golf course.

*The robots that have a shell on their top and claws on their bottom cannot 
be destroyed.

*Flashing spikes in the area with the rising/falling water explode.

DIVE MAN

Use Skull Barrier.  He's slower than his Mega Man 4 version.  He'll fly at 
you, and then shoot Dive Missiles at you.  These are easily avoidable, or 
rather, easy to hit with Skull Barrier.  He'll be down in no time.

-=3.08: Drill Man=-

*You'll come across platforms that have spikes on them.  Jump on them when 
they're facing the sides.

*Destroy the large rocks before they hit the ground. 

*After you get your item from Eddie, fall down the hole.  Hold left to get 
two energy tanks.

DRILL MAN

Use Dive Missile.  He'll jump around, and charge at you occasionally.  He'll 
dig underground.  When he's underground, run around so that he doesn't come 
out from under you.

-=3.09: Skull Castle=-

Here you see Dr. Wily.  As you start chasing him, a robot comes up, looks at 
you, and retreats.  You follow him.

PUNK

At the start, hit him with a fully charged Mega Buster.  Now he'll roll up in 
to a ball.  He'll come at you.  If he's high, slide under him; if he's low, 
jump over him.  Keep shooting.  He'll fire blades at you, which are easy to 
avoid.

*You'll find nothing here you've not seen before...

*To destroy the generators that make the room dark so you cannot see the 
spikes, use Dive Missile.

*To destroy the barrier blocking the energy tank, use Drill Bomb.

GIANT SUZY

Use Spark Shock for this.  It'll go around the room.  When it's on the 
bottom, jump over it.  When it bounces, slide under it.  Easy!

WILY form 1

He'll fly up in to the air.  You get under him.  When he gets to the other 
side, blast him, and dodge the missiles.  Use Mega Buster.  Easy!

WILY form 2

He'll just sit there, throwing balls at you.  Dodge these, and use Screw 
Crusher on him when you can.  It's kind of hard to hit him, but you'll do it.  
Use your energy tanks--you have no more use for them.

You've beaten it.  Now sit back and enjoy the ending!

SNAKE MAN
