ii. Introduction
=================
Hello everyone! When I first heard the title of this game, I wasn't too
interested, and I interpreted it to be something other than what I expected
it to be. The game is classified as Strategy/Simulation for the simple reasons
that the game makes you think which gives it strategy and simulation as it
simulates the farming life but on a video game. This game is great for anyone
who has wanted to know what working on a farm would be like but doesn't really
want to get out there and actually DO work. Anyway, I noticed that there are
quite a few FAQs for this game already but I have made mine more
detailed as well as informative, so if you didn't understand one of the
others, I hope you can understand mine. Enough talk, on with the FAQ...

1.) Game Info.

Publisher: Nintendo
ESRB Rating: Everyone
Genre: Strategy/Simulation

===========
2.) Story
===========
Well, there is no BIG story to this game, it is rather simple actually,
so here is the story in my words.

Your Grandfather runs this farm, but one day he passes away. When you
start a new game you will see your Grandfather's funeral. Now it is your
job to run his farm in honor of his memory.

The game is basically a 2 year period of all 4 seasons. You will be
harvesting crops, raising animals, and just about everything a farmer
does. Let's see if you can manage to run your Grandfather's farm as
well as he did...

4.) Characters
===============

-Characters other than Wives-

Jack (You)(Default Name) - This is the character you will be controlling.
Jack needs to take of his Grandfather's farm who recently passes away.
Jack will talk to many people in the game, including a lot of women who
he can marry and eventually have a child with. But anyway, Jack (You)
would be considered the "Main Character" in the game.

The Mayor - The Mayor is the one who will be helping you out the most.
He gives you a tour of the town, tells you about different events and
other social activities.

Lilia - Lilia is the owner of the Flower Shop. Go visit her if you
need some seeds or flowers. She also will have various types of vegetables
during the different seasons.

The Midwife - This old lady is the one who will be there to help you
when you eventually have children in the game.

Horse - This is Jack's (your) horse. Your horse can help you out a lot
when he grows older.

Dog - This is Jack's (your) dog. Not much of a description other than
him being your dog.

-WIFE Characters-
These are the characters (5 women) who you can choose to be your wife:

NOTE - Here are the 5 colors of love:

White Heart - Indifferent
Blue Heart - Friendly
Green Heart - Flirtatious
Yellow Heart - Enamored
Pink Heart - Truly in Love

Now here are the 5 characters:

Maria - Maria is the daughter of the mayor and kind of a "nerd" from the
looks of things. She wins a lot of prizes at different festivals. If you want
to find her, try looking in the library or at the Mayor's house. She likes it
most of the time when you talk to her. But if you do want to marry her, you will
have some competition from the Postman.

Elli - Elli works at the bakery and LOVES it when you eat her
goods from her store. She isn't one of the best women to "woo" but if
you do, you'll find her in her bakery.

Ann - Ann works on the ranch. She LOVES little cute animals, Thanks to
NeoHippie2000 for correcting me that you CANNOT bring Ann animals. Oh and
also be sure to look out for her brother :p

Popuri - Popuri works at Lilia's Flower Shop, so obviously she likes flowers.
Bring her some whenever you can if you are trying to woo her. Plant some
flowers at your house if you want to win her heart as well. Also, be sure
to help out her father, the Botanist, whenever you can.

Karen - Karen works at the Inn, and her parents own the Vineyard. She is
very nice once you get to know her. If you want to try and win her heart try
bringing her some wild berries and help out the vineyard workers whenever
possible.

There are many more characters in the game, but I have just listed the
main important ones here...More to come soon...

==================
5.) Items (Tools)
==================
Just to let you know, your tools have 3 different strengths. You will
be able to upgrade a tool twice. The tool itself is one strength, the first
time you upgrade the tool it will be about 3 times stronger than before and
the last strength (last upgrade) you will be able to finish a job with one
strike of the tool.

Axe - Use the Axe to chop up wood. You can then use this wood to build
onto your house or use it for fences.

Bag - Use this to carry the medals you win at races.

Bag (Seeds) - This is the bag you will be using to carry all of your
seeds in.

Bell - Use this to call your cows or sheep.

Blue Feather - This is the item you will be using when you are ready
to propose to one of the 5 women (see characters).

Bottle - These are used to hold liquids as in Zelda 64, only you can
carry more than milk :p

Brush - Use this tool to keep the fur of your sheep, horse and cows
nice and groomed.

Clippers - Used to sheer your sheep for wool which can be sold for a lot
of money :)

Flowers - Use these to give to the 5 women if you plan on "wooing" them
to marry you.

Fishing Pole - Used to catch fish. :?

Fish - You can either eat this or sell if for money.

Hammer - The Hammer is used to break up all the rocks that are cluttering
up your farm, very useful.

Hoe - You will need this in order to sort out the soil before planting
seeds; You can also use it to look for minerals.

Lantern - This item will be used at the Firefly Festival.

Ocarina - Used in the Spirit Festival, this can be bought at the ceramics
shop next to Rick's Tool shop. No it is in no way related to Zelda :?

Seeds - Use these to grow flowers to give to one of the 5 ladies :)

Sickle - The Sickle is an alternative to clearing out the weeds on your farm.
You can use your hands but the Sickle is a handy tool.

Water Can - Used to water your crops and seeds, etc.

6.) Animals
============
Here are all of the animals in the game, including the dog and horse:

COWS
----
The cows may be the most expensive animal in the entire game, but they
will pay for themselves in no time. Each cow costs 6,000 Gold. But that
will be returned in no time as the milk you get from the cows can be sold,
here are the rates:

Small - You get paid 100 GOLD
Medium - You get paid 150 GOLD
Large - You get paid 300 GOLD
Special - You get paid 500 GOLD

It is all worth the while to raise some cows as they can make you a
lot of money if you raise them right. The cows are available for sale
at the Green Ranch and an easy way to raise more is to get the COW POTION.

SHEEP
-----
Sheep are probably your best bet in making money. Get one from Green
Ranch for 4,000 GOLD. The Sheep produce wool weekly (which is a downside
as the cows produce daily) which you can shear and sell for money! Here
are the rates: Regular = 900 GOLD, Quality = 1,800 GOLD!

CHICKENS
--------
Well the Chickens aren't too great, but they don't eat your grass,
instead they eat chicken feed. They do make you some money however,
by producing eggs daily which is great if you need the money. You get
paid 50 GOLD for the eggs which isn't much, I don't really recommend
raising these. The Chickens are the least expensive animal in the game
as they cost 1,500 GOLD each at Green Ranch.

DOG
---
Your good old dog! You get this dog when you start the game, and during
the winter season you can enter it into a race!

HORSE
-----
In order to acquire the horse you must first go to Green Ranch. The first
time you go there you will receive the horse. Once the horse grows a little
older it can be used for a lot of things, one being it can carry crates and
other stuff for you, plus you can enter your horse in races later in the game!

======================
7.) Pre-Game Strategy
======================
OK, here are some tips as well as some strategy before you start
the actual game...

CLEAR THE LAND!
---------------
Obviously if you don't clear your land first, your crop won't come in
and everything will be a failure :?

What I mean by "Clear the Land" is to get rid of certain items on your
farm, such as Rocks, weeds or stumps. When you first start the game there
are a BUNCH of rocks on your farm. To get rid of them break them up with
your hammer or throw them into the water.

The weeds can get a bit annoying at times. As weeds do in real life,
they will grow back even after you have picked them UNLESS you plant
your crop there ASAP. So you should only clear the weeds in areas you
plan on planting at.

The best things to get rid of are the Stumps. Use your Axe to chop these
things down and you not only remove them from the land but you also can
use their wood for your house or fences.

PLANTING CROPS
--------------
Well if you plan on growing successful crops you are going to have to have
patience and a lot of hard work! First things first you will have to
till the land.

To till the hand first pick a cleared space free from rocks weeds and
stumps to plant on, then take out your handy hoe (no jokes :?) and start
tillin'! To do this use your hoe on the land once and form a 3x3 grid so
you should have 9 small sections of soil tilled (this method is most effective).

Now with your tilled land it's time to plant the seeds. This is a rather
easy task to complete. Stand in the middle square of your 3x3 grid and
throw out the seeds to cover the grid and plant 9 new ready to grow crops!

The last step in growing a successful crop is to give your plants water!
You will need to water each one of the plants each day. Use the water can
to water your plants but if it is raining outside, don't bother watering them,
as the rain does your job for you!

HARVEST YOUR CROPS
------------------
Once your crops have been planting it's harvesting time! Most of the time
the crop will change visibly allowing you to know that it needs harvesting.
Keep in mind that some crops can grow much faster than others so don't worry
that one is growing and the other isn't.

A handy tip when planting your crop, try and place your 3x3 grids near
the harvesting bin so that you will be closer to it when it's time for
harvesting. You don't want to waste time carrying the crops over long
distances.

YOUR TOWN - FLOWER BUD VILLAGE
------------------------------
Here is a complete map of your town lettered (see under the map to
know what is what) Oh and please don't think I stole this from another
FAQ because I didn't. It is in Nintendo Power Magazine, but the descriptions
of each area are my own:

(A) - TOWN SQUARE
This is the main area of the town
      Many festivals are held here
This is where a lot of people go to hang out
when there is nothing else to do, you should go
and check this area out even if you aren't going
       to a festival.

(B) - THE INN
Place where you can buy drinks.
Prices are high so don't buy a drink unless your
       character is really beat.
The Water here is given free of charge.
You can also get the latest gossip here, so try
and talk to a lot of people in the INN.

(C) - CHURCH
The Church is also a school.
All the students at this school are the children
       of the Potion shop keeper.

(D) - LILIA'S FLOWER SHOP
This is where you can buy seeds for your crop.
You can also buy flowers here.
During the different seasons, Lilia sells different
       types of seeds (different vegetables).
She also sells grass seed which you will need
       for animal fodder.
You can also find Popuri who works here if you are
       trying to woo her.

(E) - RICK'S TOOL SHOP & CRAFT STORE
The shop is closed on Sunday's

       items.
First you should get the Brush and Ocarina a little
       later.
Remember to check back often to see if any new items
       have coming into stock.

(F) - BAKERY
There are lots of sweet goodies at the Bakery.
A lot of items here are pretty expensive though.
By eating items here you will raise your Energy.
The shop-keeper, Elli, will be pretty happy if you do
       eat her baked goods.
You can get Free water as well.

(G) - MAYOR'S HOUSE
This is where the mayor lives :?
You can talk to many people here including one of your
possible future wives, Maria who is also the Mayor's
       daughter.
You can also talk to the Mayor's wife here.

(H) - LIBRARY
The main reason for going to the library would naturally
be to visit Maria who works there.
There are also many interesting books here as well.
If you stop by and talk to Maria, it will make her very
happy if you are trying to woo her.

(I) - MIDWIFE'S HOUSE
Here is where the Midwife is located :?
Talk to the Midwife if you need help after you have your
baby with one of the 5 women in the game.

(J) - POTION SHOP
Here you can find medicine for your animals when they
       get sick.
The Botanist can be found here, so try and help him out if
you are trying to woo Popuri.
If you get a little sick from work you can also purchase
       medicine for yourself here.

THE GREEN RANCH
---------------
The Green Ranch is a very important place, in fact one of the most
important area in the game. Here is where you will be purchasing
your livestock.

Upon your first time visiting the Green Ranch you will Receive a
horse for free! Also you will be purchasing your livestock here which
consist of the following:

COWS - 6,000 GOLD
SHEEP - 4,000 GOLD
CHICKENS - 1,500 GOLD

Ann also works here so if you are trying to woo her, this will be the place to
come. Her brother is very mean so try and stay away from him.
Here is a map of the Green Ranch:

             __________________________________
            |_____________ __________| |
            | ------- ----------| |
            |_____ --(B)-- ----(C)---| |
            |-----|------- ----------| |
            |-----|_____________________| |
            |---------------------------| |
            |-------------(A)-----------| |
            |---------------------------| |

(A) - CORRAL
When you start your game come here to get a free
horse from Ann who works here.
The Cow Festival is held here in the fall.

(B) - BARN
The Barn isn't all that important.
It is kind of like the barn in Zelda 64 :?
You should still visit here to see some great
       graphics though :)

(C) - Store
Well obviously this is where you buy items.
You can buy your livestock here.
Also, be sure to pick up some handy items
       for your new livestock.
The Store is closed on Thursdays.

THE VINEYARD
------------
The Vineyard is also a pretty important area of the game, not as important as
the Green Ranch but still pretty important.

The Vineyard is located north of the village along the trail to the mountain.
Here is where you will meet Karen if you are trying to woo her. You will also
meet a bunch of the workers here.

Later on in the game you will find out that a crisis situation takes place at
the Vineyard.

MOON MOUNTAIN
-------------
The Moon Mountain will be inaccessible when you start out your game. The
Bridge is out which leads to the top of the mountain where a restaurant is
located.

There is also a spa located here, but first you'll have to get the bridge back
into service which will be coming soon to this FAQ...

YOUR HOUSE & THE CARPENTER
--------------------------
Of course you are going to want to build your house, but you will need lots
of GOLD and lots of WOOD! You don't do the building yourself, the carpenter
does it for you, but the prices are steep, and you have to provide your own
wood, how cheap! Anyway, here are his prices and how much wood you will need
for each room:

KITCHEN..........5,000 GOLD -- 450 WOOD
BATHROOM.........3,000 GOLD -- 300 WOOD
STAIRS...........1,500 GOLD -- 150 WOOD
GREEN HOUSE.....30,000 GOLD -- 580 WOOD
DECK.............7,000 GOLD -- 350 WOOD
CHILD'S BED......1,000 GOLD -- 200 WOOD

Make sure you collect a lot of money each day and chop up those stumps and try
to get your house all built up!

In Each season you will be able to grow a certain crop, for Spring here are
the crops you will be able to grow (remember to get the seeds from Lilia's
flower shop):

CABBAGE
 Seed Cost - 200 GOLD
 Unit Price - 90 GOLD
 Growth - 7 Days

POTATOES

 Growth - 6 Days

TURNIPS
 Seed Cost - 200 GOLD

You can also FIND other items other than your crops in each season, look around
the countryside to find these (these are just for spring):

VERYBERRY FRUIT
 Unit Price - 40 GOLD

MEDICINAL HERBS
 Unit Price - 70 GOLD

EDIBLE HERBS
 Unit Price - 30 GOLD

ALL DAYS
--------
Remember, once you get your seeds planted and your crop growing, water it each
day (unless it's raining) and take care of your crop well each day (except for
festivals) so that you will have a great crop when the Spring Season ends.

1ST DAY -- FIRST DAY
---------------------
The first day of Spring is when your game begins. Your grandfather is gone and
the farm is yours. The Mayor will offer you a tour of the farm, take it if you
are new to the game otherwise you can just use the map.

Today you will want to begin your harvesting. Start out by clearing the farm
land (rocks, weeds and stumps). Once you have, use your hoe to till out a 3x3
grid of land to plant some seeds.

Head over to Lilia's shop where you will find some seeds for sell, as of now
you will only be able to buy 1 pack so do so. Choose whichever you think will be
best (see the growth times and how much each is worth to choose the right pack
of seeds).

Head back to your farm and begin planting them.

8TH DAY -- PLANTING FESTIVAL
-----------------------------
This festival is hosted by the Potion Shop keeper! His grandson will bring in
the harvest balloons and on your signal they will be released by the townspeople.
You can also talk to the townspeople around here...

16TH DAY -- DEADLINE FOR ENTERING HORSE RACE
---------------------------------------------
Well as you can see, if you are going to enter the horse race (which is the
next day) today is the deadline for doing so.

17TH DAY -- SPRING HORSE RACE
------------------------------
Well you can do 2 things if you entered this race but if you didn't you'll still
be able to do 1 thing which is still very fun. OK, here is an explanation of this
horse race:

If you entered you will be able to:
Buy Medals and bet them on other horses.
Race your horse and win MORE medals if your horse wins.

If you DIDN'T enter the race you will be able to:
Buy medals and bet them on other horses.
 That's it! Should've entered, huh?

Once the race is over, take all of the medals you have won and redeem them for
GOLD! These races are very fun, so I really suggest you participate in them.

18TH - 22ND DAYS -- VOTE FOR FLOWER PRINCESS
---------------------------------------------
This is the day of the voting for the flower princess! The local Botanist
(Popuri's Father) will drop by and remind you to vote if you want to.

If you do decide to vote, head over to Town Square and cast your vote for who you
think deserves to be the Flower Princess!

23RD DAY -- SPRING FLOWER FESTIVAL
-----------------------------------
It's approaching the end of the spring season and what a way to end it with the
Spring Flower Festival. Here, walk around and talk to all of the townspeople. Soon
the Flower Princess will arrive with her lady friends. Once done with everything,
go and see the mayor to get a dance partner.

Congratulations, you are done with the Spring Season, now it's on to the
Summer time!

===============
SUMMER SEASON:
===============
It's Summer Time! In the summer your crops will take longer to grow, however,
you will be getting several harvests from just one crop! Here is your Calendar of
Events for the Summer Season:

          ___________________________________________
         | CALENDAR OF EVENTS |
         | |
         | 1st Day....................Fireworks |
         | 9th Day...........Vegetable Festival |
         | 17th Day.............Firefly Festival |
         | 24th Day.................Sea Festival |
         |___________________________________________|

Well, now since it is a new season, you will be able to grow new crops, which is
great! Remember the seeds are at Lilia's Flower Shop, here are the crops you can grow:

TOMATOES
 Seed Cost - 300 GOLD
 Unit Price - 100 GOLD
 Growth - 9 Days

CORN
 Seed Cost - 300 GOLD
 Unit Price - 100 GOLD
 Growth - 13 Days

As always, there are also some other items to be found in each season, before it
was some herbs and berries, well here are the items you can find during Summer:

TROPICAL FRUIT
 Unit Price - 40 GOLD

WALNUTS
 Unit Price - 70 GOLD

ALL DAYS
--------
Remember again, you will have to take good care of your crop, remember to water
it each day if you want those vegetables to grow in nicely. There are a lot of
events to take place in, so try and finish all of your work during the day so
you can have fun at night!

1ST DAY -- FIREWORKS
--------------------
OK, today is going to have to be a very busy day. First till your land, till
a lot because you will be planting a lot. Now head on over to Lilia's Flower
Shop to pick up some seeds for your crop. Choose whichever one you but make sure
you get quite a few packs, maybe 5 or so packs to plant.

Head back to your house and plant all of the seeds, then water them once you're
done. It should now be close to night time and just in time for the Fireworks show.
Head over to where you can watch them and enjoy the show!

9TH DAY -- VEGETABLE FESTIVAL
-----------------------------
Well you can either choose to take part in this festival or to serve as a
judge, your choice. If you do want to participate in this festival, bring one
of your vegetables that you have grown if you have one. Otherwise just go to
the festival empty-handed and you will serve as a judge.

Once there, walk around and talk to all of the townspeople, after a short while
of time the Mayor will announce the winner of this festival, good luck!

17TH DAY -- FIREFLY FESTIVAL
----------------------------
This festival is rather odd, but nevertheless is very fun to go to. It takes
place during the night time down at the beach. First if you are going to go to
this festival you will need a lantern, get one from Rick's Tool Shop.

With your lantern, head down to the beach. Walk around a bit and talk to the
townspeople and the mayor. After a while you will light your lanterns and toss
them all into the water. This is an odd festival but it is a very very old
tradition + it's pretty fun!

24TH DAY -- SEA FESTIVAL
------------------------
This Festival is pretty fun as well. The contest is to see who the best swimmer
is. It takes place the same place the Firefly Festival took place which is at the
beach, however it is in the daytime.

If you do take place in this festival, and you happen to win, you will be rewarded
with the 1st place trophy! You will get directions on how to swim and once you do
you'll be set to race the other swimmers and see if YOU are the best swimmer!

=============
FALL SEASON:
=============
Autumn time! In the Fall season, there will be more rain which will do your job
of watering on some days. The only thing not really "life-like" is that the time
doesn't change when the fall season comes around, so you will have the same
amount of time during the day to do your work as you did during the summer!
Here is your calendar of events:

          ___________________________________________
         | CALENDAR OF EVENTS |
         | |
         | 4th Day.................Cow Festival |
         | 12th Day.............Harvest Festival |
         | 20th Day.................Egg Festival |
         | 23rd-27th................Bridge Repair |
         | 27th Day......Deadline for Horse Race |
         | 28th Day...................Horse Race |
         |___________________________________________|

Well, a new season and a new set of crops for you to grow. You will be able
to plant and harvest 2 new crops in the Fall Season and remember to pick up
the seeds at Lilia's Flower Shop. Here are the crops that you will be able to
grow this season:

EGGPLANTS
 Seed Cost - 300 GOLD
 Unit Price - 80 GOLD
 Growth - 7 Days

STRAWBERRIES
 Seed Cost - 500 GOLD
 Unit Price - 150 GOLD
 Growth - 6 Days

Yep, you guessed it, there are also other items which can be found during the
Fall Season, this time there are 3 of them, so here they are:

WILD GRAPES
 Unit Price - 40 GOLD

MUSHROOMS
 Unit Price - 70 GOLD

POISON MUSHROOM
 Unit Price - 30 GOLD

Note that you can also go fishing, here are the fish rates:

Little Fish - 30 GOLD

Medium Fish - 100 GOLD

Large Fish - 180 GOLD

ALL DAYS
--------
Remember to take care of your new crops very well if you plan on them
growing any. It will rain a lot in the Fall season so you might not have
to water your crops on some days, but if it doesn't rain make sure you
are out there taking care of your crops. This season is more of a relaxing
season, you should concentrate more on chopping wood for the winter season
and trying to woo a girl. All you really need to do is plant a few eggplant
crops and take care of them, and that's about it. Only concentrate on your
crops more if you don't have a lot of
GOLD.

4TH DAY -- COW FESTIVAL
-----------------------
Well, if you have been raising cows you are in luck! The Cow Festival is
a contest to see who has the best cow, and by best I mean which cow produces
the the best milk. See all the work did pay off if you raised any cows.

If you have a cow, go ahead and bring it down to the festival, otherwise
you will have to judge the other top cows from the area, good luck!

12TH DAY -- HARVEST FESTIVAL
----------------------------
This is a fun festival which has been in the SNES version of this game
as well. You don't need to bring any food, instead just walk around and talk
to the townspeople. Elli will offer you a cake and it might have a coin
in it. Once that is all over you can choose a lady to dance with.

20TH DAY -- EGG FESTIVAL
------------------------
This is really fun, it is like an Easter egg hunt! The Mayor will show
you a colored egg and everyone searches the village too find it. This is
pretty tough but it's mostly for fun! The prize if you win is a Power Berry.

23RD - 27TH -- BRIDGE REPAIR
----------------------------
These are the days the carpenter will be working on the bridge. You can help
him out if you like. For each day you work on the bridge you will get
1,000 GOLD, that adds up to a total of 5,000 GOLD for each day! Plus work
ends at 3:00 PM.

27TH DAY -- DEADLINE FOR HORSE RACE ENTRY FALL
------------------------------------------------------
This is the day you will be able to enter the Fall horse race. Your horse of
course has grown by now so I suggest you enter the race, it is pretty fun.

To enter, a farmer guy will come by your farm and ask if you want to
enter the race, tell him yes if you want to. Remember to get in on the
27th Day or you'll be out of luck!

28TH DAY -- HORSE RACE
----------------------
Time for the race! If you entered you will be able to bet and race your
horse. Otherwise you can just bet on other horses. Now is when you can
also start saving the GOLD in order to buy your horse a stable. Good
Luck in the races!

===============
WINTER SEASON:
===============
It's winter time! Of course, with all the snow it is going to be impossible
to grow any crops, right? Wrong! If you built your greenhouse, you will be
able to still plant crops, otherwise you can just mine in the underground
tunnel. Here is your calendar of events:

          ___________________________________________
         | CALENDAR OF EVENTS |
         | |
         | 10th Day.................Thanksgiving |
         | 8th-30th..........Mine open to public |
         | 12th-16th......Work on Mountain Spring |
         | 18th Day........Deadline for Dog Race |
         | 19th Day.....................Dog Race |
         | 24th Day.................Starry Night |
         | 27th Day..............Spirit Festival |
         | 30th Day.....................New Year |
         |___________________________________________|

Well, you can plant any crops you like if you have built the Greenhouse,
but if you don't have a greenhouse or you just don't feel like planting
crops, then you will be able to mine in the underground tunnel, here are
the Stones you can get:

IRON STONE
 Unit Price - 100 GOLD

MOONLIGHT STONE
 Unit Price - 500 GOLD

BLUE STONE
 Unit Price - 700 GOLD

RARE MINERALS
 Unit Price - 1,000 GOLD

ALL DAYS
--------
You can work in your greenhouse on your crops if you need the money,
but if you don't have your greenhouse built or you just don't feel
like growing crops you can mine in the underground tunnel.

10TH DAY -- THANKSGIVING
------------------------
Thanksgiving time! Farmers as well as the ladies will drop by and bring
you food. I suggest staying home and having this event not with family
but with friends and ladies.

8TH - 30TH DAYS -- MINE OPEN TO PUBLIC
--------------------------------------
The mine opens up to you on the 8th day of winter and is open until
the end of the month. Head here are start mining for all types of
different minerals. The most valuable mineral would be the Rare Minerals
which are worth 1,000 GOLD.

You should mine if you haven't built your greenhouse yet or if you just
don't feel like "cropping".

12TH - 16TH DAYS -- WORK ON MOUNTAIN SPRING
-------------------------------------------
This is the same things as when you worked on the bridge during the
fall season. The carpenters are working on the mountain spring and they
need your help. You can work for 5 days getting paid 1,000 GOLD a day
for a total of 5,000 GOLD!

If you need some extra gold I strongly suggest you work on the spring
because 5,000 GOLD is a lot of dough! The Winter season is actually a great
opportunity to make some extra cash.

18TH DAY -- DEADLINE FOR ENTERING DOG RACE
------------------------------------------
Well I think the name says enough. Today is the deadline if you plan on
entering the dog race...

19TH DAY -- DOG RACE
--------------------
It's time for the races! Today you can race your little dog and see if he
wins, bet the same medals as in the horse races to get some extra cash.
You don't have to control your dog either, just watch him as he flies past
the other dogs (hopefully :?).

*NEW ADDITION*
If you feed your dog before the race, his chances of winning will be
better (thank to NeoHippie2000 for this tip).

24TH DAY -- STARRY NIGHT
------------------------
This is the day when you will be spending time with one of your girlfriends.
Here is where each is located:

Maria - Church
Elli - Church
Ann - Church
Popuri - Woods
Karen - Beach

You should spend the day with one of them (whichever one you have been
trying to woo :)

27TH DAY -- SPIRIT FESTIVAL
---------------------------
This festival takes place during the night and it's purpose is to scare
off evil spirits. If you bought an Ocarina from the Ceramic's shop next
to Rick's Tool Shop, earlier in the game, join in with the music, otherwise
you can just watch.

30TH DAY -- NEW YEAR
--------------------
Well, it really should be the first day of spring, but oh well.
Congratulations you have now completed one year of hard work, now
it is time to celebrate the new year!

You will continue the game on for another year, I probably won't be
adding a Walkthrough for it. But you are not limited to 2 years, you
can play as many as you want. Remember you can still get married to
the lady of your choice and even have kids, good luck in the new year!

11.) Secrets
=============
(Thanks to Arthur (m.a.david@worldnet.att.net) for this secret):

After you get the wine from the bar owner (to get the
wine from the bartender give him gifts and talk to him.
Eventually he will give it to you. It is a bottle of wine made by
Karen's grandmother.) when you talk to the harvest sprites
they mention the spirit tree in the vineyard and how Kaifu Fairies came
to the vineyard before the tree fell asleep. To wake it up toss a vegetable
into the pond left of the carpenter's cabin by standing on the bridge and
pressing A. A women(I think she is the Goddess of Harvest) will come and grant
you one wish(You can do this again and again, but after you get the wine and
talk to the sprites is special and it must be done first). Tell her to wake up
the tree and you will go wake it up. I'm not sure what it does since I did this
during the winter when the vineyard is closed.

(Thanks to Zodi, Nintense, Iss98z, and Klone for these):

Dreams
With dreams, theyre flashbacks, so the next day go to those spots and when
they ask you if you remember it happening before to you etc.. say yes.

Daddy helping a crying girl
Karen -- Meet her in the shed next to her house.

Your feeling sick by eating mudpies.
Elli -- Go to bakery shop area.

A feeling of falling, flowers.
Popuri -- Go over the bridge you made or up the tree.

Tips
You can climb the tree near the cave to get up to the top of the
mountain before you build the bridge.

In winter hit the rock on the other side of the frozen pond for a power
nut.

Brush your horses and cows every day.

When you win the cow festival your L milk goes to Special.

Blue feather (after your girls goes red for a while, this is what you
use to propose find it at Ricks shop).

Need to know what an item is in inventory? use the Z button.

3rd summer is evaluation and your dad comes etc. You get to choose to
play on or not.

The more you drink during the year the longer you last drinking at the
new years festival ( Karen went from green to yellow because I out drank
her :p).

Training your dog whistle for it jump on your horse and it chases you,
repeat when it stops or you get bored :) (he seems to be able to run
further every day).

When evaluation is finished credits roll then you get asked whether you
want to continue or not.

(Still Thanks to Nintense, Zodi, Iss98z, and Klone for these)
