  Hello Reader,
This is intended to be a full walkthrough for the (rightfully)
unknown game "Yaiba" for the Sega Game Gear. I will try to put
as much detail as possible into the guide, most of which will
not be needed since the game is so simple and easy.

 \-=2=- -Basic Information- \
 /---------------------------------------------/

            *-------------
   2.1=- -What is Yaiba?-
                 *--------

Why waste my time with these questions? As I said, Yaiba is an
old and forgotten platformer for the dead Game Gear. It was only
released in Japan, and it's all in Japanese so I can't understand
a thing of what the characters say, and nor do I care. If you
know, please contribute to this guide and to this world a
 happier place.

            *----------
   2.2=- -How to Play-
                *------

*-Moving your Hero-*
So here are all the moves you can use in the games, as well as
other stuff I won't describe here. More will be added as I
 discover or figure them out.

   * Button 1: Attack with your weapon. You can do this in almost any
   position.

   * Button 2: Jump.

   * Pause/Start: Pause and start. In the pause menu you can see
your score, remaining players (lives) and change your special
attack using 'left' and 'right', the different jewels in the sword
represent a different attack. Also, the number besides the X is
how much special power you have left. You can also skip the boring
    cinemas with this.

   * Down: Crouch.

   * Down + B2: Jump off some surfaces.

   * Up: Defend against attacks.

   * Hold B1: When you have a special attack selected, press and hold the
attack button until the little sword icon on the upper-left blinks,
then release it to unleash whatever attack you had selected.

   * Jump and Attack: Attacking while jumping deals more damage than a
    simple attack.

*-Players and Continues-*
When all your health (the red things in the upper-left corner of the screen)
is depleted, you will lose one of your players (lives) and start from an
 earlier point in the game.

When you lose all your players, you will get to a continue screen where you
must press B1 if you want to keep playing. If you lose all your players 3
(I think..) times, then it's game over and you'll have to start all over
 again, if you dare.

*-Special Attacks-*
Apparently, the goal of the game is to get all seven magic jewels and kill
the bad guy/s. Each time you get a jewel you are allowed to use a special
attack which may or may not be useful. You select your special attack
on the pause menu and use it during the game by holding the attack button.
However, using a special attack will use up 'special power'(my name for it).
How much special power is used depends on the attack.

             *---------
   2.3=- -Walkthrough-
                *------

*-Chapter 1: "The Revenge"-*
---------------
*-The Evil Forest
After the cutscene, you'll pop up in a forest full of Blue Demons. Watch out
for the invisible Demon Archers and the Blue Demon With a Black Bottle,
you'll have to impale him several times before he dies. Hit the stone to
unveil a heart, which will grant you +1 health. After braving the evil
forest, you'll find Old Man to the right end of the stage. Touch him to
 begin a cut scene.

*-Old Man and Frog Guy
While the characters make funny faces the evil Frog Guy will pop out and
attack you or something. When hero grabs his sword, mash the B1 and B2
buttons to defeat him. If you fail, you die!

*-Racing on Cat Thing
So now you're riding a Cat Thing and you must evade the incoming arrows!
Move along the six different positions to avoid the scary arrows represented
by blinking dots ahead of the road. If you can't do or understand this, call
the doctor. He can help you.

*-Fight with Purple Guy
Now you have to kill a feminoid Purple Guy who has a Big Sword. Yikes!
 He has three attacks:

*Big Sword Slash: Watch out! When he gets into an attack stance try to time
your jump to avoid being hit by his sword.

*Stiff Sword: His sword will grow towards the other end of the room.
Jump and walk over it to stick your spear into Purple Guy! Watch out, if he
repeats this attack you might get hit!

*Get to the Middle of the Room and Attack the Air: No comment.

Once you've hit him enough he'll draw his sword into his head and surrender.
You can also try using your new sword and special attack on him.

*-Chapter 2: "Suburban AOL Hacker"-*
---------------
*-The Place with Water
Try to kill the Black Fish Things before jumping into the platforms.
Hero can't swim, so water is deadly. Black platforms sink. Hit and touch the
 blue jewel to end this.

*-The Generic Cave
Hit the rocks to break them. See that weird thing up there? Try to leave a
particular rock untouched to use as a step. Get the attack power and keep
going right through the upper path, the hole's deadly. There's an extra life
on the lower place. Get the brown jewel.

*-The Magic Platforms
Kill the Corn Guys before the explode or be hurt by their corn things.
The disappearing platforms here are not synched so climbing up can and will
be annoying. Ram your head into Buddha's to get the green jewel.

*-Another Cave
There's some power up on the upper platform. The Hero can't swim on lava,
so it's deadly. Lava drops fall from above and splash on the pits, so
be careful. You can kill the demonic flames with your blue attack.
At the end is the red jewel.

*-Funny Cliffs
At the other side of the cliffs there's a star powerup that gives you
+1000 score. Get on the moving rock, jump over the grass and grab
the heart and 1up lying below. Manage to get to the other side of the
tree and make that gray jewel yours.

*-Infinity Bridge
This is a great spot for catching Black Fish Things. Slowly make your
way to the other end of the bridge to claim the last jewel, the lighter
blue. It's all right, I'm sure the owner wouldn't mind if you took it.

*-Devil Building
Get the two powerups and ready your gray attack. Press 'up' in front of
 the door to face..

*-One-Eyed Wolf Guy with 2 Swords
I won't even bother mentioning his attacks. Just use gray repeatedly and
stick your sword into him. Try not to be fooled by his movements.
After that brief interruption, your sword will express its deepest
feelings and offer to marry you. Say yes. Ok, just kidding...

*-Lava Cave
See that rock? Go right and jump immediately. Get all the powerups. Try
not to fall from green things. Brush your teeth after every meal. The
brown thing falls when you step on it. The steps after the green things
can actually be destroyed, they hide powerups. Dig your way through
rocks and evade the falling boulder. The boulder on the lava pit can be
dangerous. Now, pay attention: Quickly jump on and off the floating
platform, when it comes back get on it and hit the rock on the right.
Fall on the platform and jump back left. Repeat the first part but this
time jump where the rock was. Exit the level.

*-The Choice
Choose between all your friends (most of which you've never met), or
the yellow jewel. I'd choose the jewel, but that means losing all your
lives so jump left to make that old guy happy. Like I care...

*-Chapter 3: "Devil Playmate Takes a Bite out of Crime"-*
---------------

*-The Tube Fortress
Japanese Businessmen think playmates are really funny in any situation,
so make sure to laugh a lot.
Selecting yellow as your power allows you to walk over clouds. Gray boxes
have power ups aplenty. Touch Master Playmate to..

*-Battle Against Master Playmate
Mash buttons to end Master Playmate's evil rule on Earth.

*-Playmate Fortress
The first black door you find has an endless supply of playmates, and
only them seem to know how to use it. Use your second (brown)
jewel/gem/pretty glass to become a playmate and go through the elevator
unnoticed. Be sure to enter the next elevator you see to get lots of
powerups. Go to the right end to end this stage.

*-The Bloo Dragon Fight
As soon as all the six gems are shown arond Hero, press the button to
shoot blue stuff at something you can't see. If you fail you'll be hurt.
Shoot three times to kill the golden guy.

Chapter 4: "Someone to Love (Peaches are Forever"-*
---------------

*-Naughty Forest
You can jump on the trees' arms, but stay away from the hands cuz they
hurt when they're open. Notice you've lost most of your gems. Maybe
that KKK guy has them? Don't think so... Also watch out for spikes, you
don't need me telling you what they can do.

At this moment, the only reason for anyone to mail me is to offer help
translating the characters' names and events. Since that is not going to
happen, and I will not answer questions because of the early state of the
guide..uh, never mind. Besides, I like my names..
