I.	Introductions
	a.	My Thoughts
Well welcome to the return of Dragon
Warrior. We have waited many years for the
return of Enix and now they are back.
This game is a remix of the first two games
released for the DW/DQ series. There have
been many changes in the dungeon structures
and graphics. Even the game's basic options
have been changed in some way. Please read
		through this walkthrough's Change sections
and Game Play Instructions section for a
update on how the game works.
I plan on having some maps on my sight soon.
They should be up no later than October 15th,
		2000.
I have updated the walkthrough to clean up
the problems about Beran and Rhone.

	b.	Story
The Kingdom of Alefgard had long been a
realm of peace and prosperity. The
kindhearted King Lorik easily upheld justice
in a golden age. In Alefgard, the summers
were long and plentiful, and the winters short.
Monsters and other mystical beings of terror
were unheard of. The Orb of Light was
responsible for this wondrous time. Peace and
well-being seemed to emanate from this
magical object; and with it the people of
Alefgard were able to enjoy life to it's fullest.
However, as civilizations rise and fall, it
seems that Alefgard was destined to do the
		same...

Of all the people in Alefgard, it was said that
there was only one man who wasn't satisfied.
Angry and alone, this man lived in
mountainous caves far away from civilization.
One day, while exploring the dark dungeon's
of his refuge, he came upon a sleeping dragon.
Perhaps it was through sorcery, or sheer luck,
but the man found that he was able to control
the dragon to do his will...and eventually even
more beasts... From then on he became known
		as the DracoLord.

The DracoLord's first show of power came in
the form of a fiery attack on Tantegel Castle.
The terrified citizens ran outside in just
enough time to watch their dreams burn. With
hardly any opposition, the DracoLord took
possession of The Light Orb and left Tantegel
		castle aflame.

The day after the attack, a man by the name of
Loto approached a devastated King Lorik.
Loto promised Lorik that he could help them...
and after a hearty meal he took to the
		wilderness.

Indeed Loto could help them. Shortly after his
departure, stories came in to Tantegel of a
man who was defeating the beasts which had
appeared and chasing them back into the
		wilds.

However, once Loto set off on his final quest
to destroy the DracoLord himself, nothing
more was ever heard from him. Years passed,
and the Kingdom suffered another attack by
the DracoLord. This time King Lorik's
		daughter Lora was abducted.

In the world of Dragon Warrior, you are
Loto's descendant, and must follow in his
footsteps. Princess Lora must be rescued, and
the DracoLord must die. Your journey will
take you across the various lands of Alefgard.
Visit towns and gather information. Explore
the dark dungeons and claim their treasures.
The road to the DracoLord is paved with
enemies, but you are the Dragon Warrior.
	c.	Changes
		i.	There have been several changes to the
game as in storyline and game play. You can
find out about the actual game option
changes in the Play Instructions Section
			below.
ii.	Most of the game's play has been kept the
same. The only major changes are with the
			names and graphics.
iii.	All of the towns have gone through some
major renovations. They look a lot more
			graphic and nicer.
iv.	The names have also been changes for some
of the characters and towns. They are now
closer to the Japanese versions of the game.
The main reason they changed the names
wad because of the small screen for the
GBC. Erdrick was just too big and took up
too much space. I wasn't thrilled with the
changes myself, but as you play the game
you find that this was only a small part of it.
A Rose By Any Other Name Would Smell
			As Sweet!
		v.	Name Changes
			1.	Erdrick
				a.	Loto
			2.	Princess Gwaelin
				a.	Princess Lora
		vi.	Spells
			1.	Some spells have changes also, but
				look in the Spell Section.
		vii.	Equipment Change
			1.	In the Original DW game you had to
but a weapon or armor and sell the
previous one while you bought it, if
you found one on the ground you
lost your previous one, but not
				anymore.
			2.	You now have the choice of
				equipping the weapons and armor
				yourself.
viii.	There have been several name changes for
			the towns also.
		ix.	Caves
			1.	The format of some of the caves has
also changed. This is noticeable in
				the games.
			2.	Some of them have had major
changes that effect the game play.
				a.	Swamp Cave
					i.	This cave hold the
						Princess Lora, in the
						NES version you
						enter a section and
						you automatically
						fight the Dragon, but
						in the Remix version
						the Dragon can be
						seen sleeping with the
						princess in the
						background.
			3.	The caves are now changed in the
				format. This allows veteran players
some challenge. I know that I was
really excited that I got lost in a
cave, it has been years since that
				happened.
		x.	Howard & Nester!
			1.	Where are Howard and Nester! Oh
				my god they killed Nester!
			2.	It was bound to happen at one time
folks. To my sadness they are gone
				from this game.
			3.	How do you get the information
about the flute now? Well try visiting
the lost couple in Rimuldar, they
				should help.
	d.	Game Play Instructions
		i.	With the new format there has been some
changes on how the game is played. Here
			are the instructions:
		ii.	King's Log
			1.	This is the first and best way to save
your game. Just go to the king and he
will record your save. He also
				informs you about your Experience
				Level status.
			2.	Here you can continue the game or
				stop.
		iii.	Field Log Save
			1.	This is a perfect options for a
portable system. If you are anywhere
in the game you can save your game.
The only place you can not save is in
				a battle.
			2.	Alls you have to do is press the Start
Button and do a Field Log Save.
Once you do this the game saves and
				resets.
			3.	Once you return to the DW game
you can re-open that log. Doing this
				erases the log.
				a.	This means you can not save
					your game in front the
					DracoLord or Dragon and
					keep replaying until you do
					actually beat him.
iv.	There are several options that you can use
during the game. They are key and will be
			used often.
		v.	Search
			1.	Press the A button.
			2.	This allows you to look on the
ground for a hidden item or stair
				well.
			3.	There are items hidden in pots and
drawers also, just stand in front of
				them to search.
		vi.	Key
			1.	When you have a key walk up to the
door and press the A button to open
				it.
			2.	Same for DW II, but you do not lose
the key after you use it.
vii.	Other options can be accessed by pressing
the B button. Once you do this a box will
appear with several more options to choose
from. Press the A button to choose the
			option.
		viii.	Item
			1.	You can see what items you have in
stock and use them by pressing the A
				button when they are selected.
		ix.	Info
			1.	This will give you your Hero's
				status. Strength, HP, MP and
				Equipment.
		x.	Cast
			1.	This allows you to cast any available
spells that you can use in the
				Overworld or in dungeons. See
				Spells Section for list.
		xi.	Eqpt.
			1.	This allows you to equip any items,
weapons, and armor you may have
				acquired.
	e.	Fight
		i.	Now this is one of the most important parts
of the game. The Fight scenes have been
changed and have a more graphical
background of the scenes has changed for
			DW I.
ii.	The basic fighting is the same. Attack, Flee
for Run and Cast for Spell.
	f.	Legend
		i.	If you see a ; it can mean one of two things
			1.	That this is a sub section to the town
				or cave
			2.	Define the Remix name with the
				NES name.
				a.	The Remix name is always
					first.
	g.	Opening Scenes
		i.	Once of the best upgrades for the games are
the Opening Scenes. I will go into more
detail for them when I start the beginning of
each walkthrough. Let's just say they
explain a lot for DW I.
II.	Opening Scene
		Tantegel Castle; Princess' Chambers
A dragon comes and attacks the castle.
		Monsters overwhelm the Princess' Chamber
		and take her hostage.
The dragon grabs the Light Orb and flies off
		into the night.
III.	First Blood
	a.	Tantegel Castle
		i.	You start in the King's Chamber. After his
speech take the key and other items in the
			chest.
ii.	Talk to the soldiers in the room and you find
some interesting information. You learn of
the kidnapping of the Princess and how the
			king has suffered from it.
iii.	Take some time to look through the castle.
You can get some interesting information.
iv.	Also look through the pots and drawers too.
	b.	Town of Tantegel
		i.	This used to be called Breccony in DW I &
			III.
ii.	There are a few additions to the town.
iii.	There are additional houses and stairs.
iv.	There is also a Vault like in DW III, IV, by
			the inn.
		v.	Take some time to get some weapons and
			armor.
			1.	You should have 120 GP, you can
buy Armor and save for a weapon or
buy a weapon and save for armor.
	c.	Overworld
		i.	Now you are ready to fight the minions of
the DracoLord. The battles are simple here.
Notice that you get more gold and gain
			levels a lot faster!
ii.	When you reach level 5-6, or you feel brave
enough, head north to Loto's Cave
	d.	Loto's Cave
		i.	The layout for the cave has changed like the
others in the remix. You will not have to
fight any monsters here, all you have to do is
find the Alter with Loto's Tablet.
ii.	The cave isn't too hard and this is a good
way to practice. The directions below might
get a bit hard to follow, but there are no
monsters here, so take your time.
iii.	Light your Torch, now you can see a small
square of the dungeon, thanks a lot!
iv.	Go down the corridor south, now go around
the bend so you are now heading east
		v.	Take your next turn south and do it again.
vi.	Now go north at the first chance you get and
take another turn to the east.
vii.	Notice the torches on the wall? Good Head
past them and south to find some stairs to
the next level of the dungeon.
viii.	Head north, west and south, moving west
			and north again as necessary.
ix.	When reach the fork with one path going
south, and the other to the north, Go north.
		x.	Now move east at the end of the path.
xi.	Go north at the first chance. At the next fork
			move to the west.
xii.	Follow the path north, now to the east and
			back south again.
xiii.	Move to the east until you see the tablet
			surrounded by the flowers.
		xiv.	Tablet Summary
			1.	You are the Descendent of the Great
Hero Loto. You must collect the
three items needed to create a bridge
				to the DracoLord's Castle.
			2.	The items you must get are:
				a.	Sunlight Stones
				b.	Staff of Rain
				c.	Rainbow Drop
xv.	Exit the cave and head back to the Tantegel
			Castle.
	e.	Tantegel Castle II
		i.	On the left side of the castle is a man who
will restore your MP for free, just use Heal
then talk to him again and save some gold
that you would have spent in the inn.
	f.	Garinham
		i.	You can head north of the castle and find a
			new town called Garinham.
ii.	This town was named after the wandering
minstrel that created the town. It is said his
Harp can call monsters and that it was
buried with him in his grave.
iii.	Get some new weapons and armor if you
can afford it and head to a new area.
	g.	Overworld II
		i.	Now you have a few options to you, but
your first priority is to gain levels.
ii.	Head north then east over the bridge. Go
north again past the Swamp Cave to the area
			of Kol.
	h.	Kol
		i.	This town is a good area to start gaining
			some EXP.
ii.	Take 2 Steps from the Bath in Kol to get the
			Pixie Flute
			1.	Used to be the Fairy Flute
iii.	Talk to the villagers and get some
			information from them.
iv.	Head outside and get some Gold to upgrade
			you weapons and armor.
			1.	By taking the time to get the gold for
the weapons and armor you gain Exp
				making you stronger and adding
				more by getting the equipment.
		v.	When you reach around level 10 head back
to Town of Tantegel to rest now you are
going to head to a new area.
vi.	Head back to Tantegel Castle and save.
	i.	Swamp Cave
		i.	Head south from the village of Kol and cross
the swamps to get to the Swamp Cave.
ii.	The cave is easy, you may not even need a
			torch for this part.
iii.	Head south all the way down to the bottom
			of the cave.
iv.	Now go around the corner shaped rock and
			go to the southern path.
		v.	Take a left and enter the stairs.
			1.	There is more here, but we will
				return to this area later.
	j.	Overworld III
		i.	There are stronger monsters here, and some
like the Mage has strong magic power also.
ii.	Just head south along the mountains and
then follow the mountain to the other side
and into the town called Rimuldar.
	k.	Rimuldar
		i.	This place carries Keys, a important item in
			the game.
ii.	To get the keys go along the edge of the
town in front of the river and enter the small
hut. Keys are only 16GP, you can hold 6
			keys.
			1.	A lot cheaper than before!
iii.	Before you leave this area get a Steel Sword
			1,500 and Steel Armor 3,000.
iv.	Take the time to fight the monsters out here,
they have a good amount of EXP. Once you
reach level 12-13 you can head back to
			Tantegel
			1.	I recommend walking back for the
extra EXP points you can get from
				the monsters.
IV.	Quest for the Stones of Sunlight
	a.	Tantegel Castle III
		i.	Now that you have keys you can open some
			more doors to the towns.
ii.	The castle has several doors to open. The
one on the left has a treasure room, the man
says a Hero does not steal, it is up to you.
			1.	If you decide to take it here are the
				contents
				a.	350 GP
				b.	Key
				c.	Mystic Acorn
				d.	Agility Seed
iii.	There is also a door on the back of the castle
open it and enter the shack.
iv.	There is a kitchen with a woman who will
			restore you fully.
		v.	Now go north into the outer edge of the
castle. Here you can get more keys for
			24GP.
vi.	Now follow along the right side of the castle
and go south. Here you should find a set of
			stairs.
	b.	Sacred Shrine; Stones of Sunlight
		i.	Just talk to the man and he will give you the
			Stones of Sunlight.
ii.	After that he heads off to bed.
V.	Quest for the Warrior's Ring
	a.	Overworld IV
		i.	You next triumph will be to get a Warrior's
			Ring at the Eastern Cave
ii.	This is the cave that is west from Tantegel
			Castle and south of Garinham.
iii.	To get there you just go south below
			Garinham over the bridge.
iv.	When you see the swamp head east and
			enter the cave.
	b.	Mountain Cave; Eastern Cave
		i.	This is a long, confusing cave, but it is
			nothing compared to the DracoLord's
			Castle.
ii.	Once you enter the cave cast Radiant, if you
do not have this spell yet then come back
when you do. Even if you do take a torch in
case you run out of MP.
iii.	Head west and then go south, when the path
			splits, go east.
iv.	Now go south and to the east, following the
path north and east to a four-way
			intersection.
		v.	Keep going east, then south.
vi.	At the next split head to the west.
			1.	You should now see water from the
				underground lake.
vii.	Go around it heading Northeast to the
corridor, take the chest for 350 GP.
viii.	Go back to the lake and head to the south
			side of it..
ix.	Go to the corridor leading west, then north,
			and west one more time.
		x.	At this intersection go north, west and south.
xi.	Head to the west, and open the big door with
a Key and walk down the stairs to the next
			level.
			1.	Monsters get harder down here, so
				take note.
xii.	On this floor, go east, and at the split go
			south.
xiii.	Keep going south, and take the first east
			path,
xiv.	Go north as far as you can. Then west as far
			as you can.
xv.	Grab the contents from the chest and then go
			north out of the tomb.
xvi.	Head east a bit, and go south into the red
			carpeted room with the pillars.
xvii.	Grab the War(rior) Ring from the chest.
			1.	You can leave now or stay and get
				some more spoils.
			2.	Equip it and continue on.
xviii.	Head east until you are close to the dead end
and take the path that goes south.
xix.	Take the Iron Shield from the chests in here.
You know this is the one by the torches.
xx.	Head back west to the intersection and then
			go south to the end.
		xxi.	Head east, then north.
xxii.	Go west at the second intersection, then go
north into a room with a Torch.
xxiii.	Go west to the next intersection, and pick up
			670GP.
xxiv.	Go west through two intersections, then go
			south three more intersections.
xxv.	Cast outside if you have it r just go East to
			the stairs.
VI.	Quest for Garin's Harp
	a.	Sacred Shrine; Staff of Rain
		i.	If you go west of Kol you will find a small
			shrine located there.
ii.	Inside is a man who requests you to bring
him Garin's Harp in exchange for the Staff
			of Rain, or names RainStaff.
	b.	Garinham II
		i.	Once you enter Garinham you should at
			least have Radiant and Outside.
ii.	Go into Garinham and open the door to the
			room to the north.
iii.	You can take the chests from the man, he
			doesn't minds.
iv.	If you open the door to the room with the
lady she will replace your key.
		v.	To get to the grave you must "Walk into the
Darkness". Walk along the top left side of
the wall and you will enter the tomb.
vi.	Head north. Go east, then north again.
vii.	When you reach the intersection go east to
reach a four-way intersection go east and
continues through four more then continue
			all the way north.
viii.	Go west, north, and west again.
ix.	Here is a bunch of chests
			1.	Key
			2.	537G
			3.	LifeAcorn here,
		x.	Now return back east.
xi.	Go north and east, following the path south
until you reach a few pillars.
xii.	Go south and following the path, and you
reach a door. Open it. Follow the path to the
west and head down the stairs here.
xiii.	Ignore this set of stairs.
xiv.	Go west and west again.
xv.	Continue west, and go down the stairs.
xvi.	Go west, and south when you reach the
			underground lake.
xvii.	Keep following the path until you get the
			first change to go north.
xviii.	Here you'll find a chest with 343GP.
xix.	Return to the stairs, and go south, until you
			see another set of stairs.
xx.	Go down to the next level and walk north.
xxi.	Head east and then go north as far as you
			can.
xxii.	Keep going east then north, going east a bit
more and down the stairs you see.
xxiii.	Track around the wall to go around, and
			head down the stairs.
xxiv.	You finally made it to his grave. Get the
			harp and cast outside.
xxv.	You can have some fun with the Harp.
When you play it monsters will attack you!
	c.	Sacred Shrine; Staff of Rain II
		i.	Go back to the Shrine and give him the Harp
			for the RainStaff.
VII.	I Challenge You!
	a.	Now you should be around level 14-16. This is the
perfect time to get the princess.
	b.	PLEASE NOTE:
		i.	I have been doing some experimenting and
here are a few of the Challenges I have been
sending out to people on Enix.com message
			board.
ii.	Try beating the game without saving the
			Princess,
iii.	Try heading to the Devil's Castle with the

you a few rounds of attacking
					power.

			Tantegel Castle.

behind a door. They sell the Flame Sword &

Sword is the second best sword in
the game, and the Silver Shield is the
				best shield in the game!
			2.	The Flame Sword can be used as a
				Item in the battles!
iv.	You also hear some rumors about the

===========================Walkthrough========================

I.	Introduction
	a.	My Thoughts
Well this part of the game is a lot like the NES
version. I found only small changes in the
dungeons and names. The names are now
		closer to the Japanese version.

Please note that this part of the walkthrough
may have some small changes due to the
change of systems. I will be updating this
		walkthrough as more changes become
		relevant.
	b.	Differences
Well they are a lot fewer changes than in DW

		surgery.
