============================================================================

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[3-1] Graal Overview
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Graal is an action/adventure/RPG computer game for the Microsoft Windows
operating system. Its concept originally came from the "Legend of Zelda: A
link to the past", a video game on the 'Super Nintendo Entertainment
System'. Graal allows players to interact in massive online worlds, where
hundreds of players spar, talk and quest with each other. Graal - The
adventure was created and is maintained by Cyberjoueur, the lead programmer
and "God of Graal" is Stefan Knorr. Graal is totally free and you can
download it from the Internet at http://www.graalonline.com. The games also
supports offline play, however the offline levels made available at
graalonline.com are dated but are still very useful and fun to play in. The
game comes with a built in level editor. You can even submit your own levels
to graalonline.com and if they are good enough they could be added to the
online world (for more information on this see http://www.graalonline.com).

Graal is played from a 45-degree top down view. You can collect hearts
(extra life containers), weapons and money (called gelat or rupees), but you
can never actually reach an end to the game. The online world is extremely
fun, there are literally thousands of levels to explorer and even servers
made from fans contain thousands more.

Graal originally started as "ZeldaOnline" in 1998 as an online Java game,
you can still play it at http://www.Cyberjoueur.com. Its graphics and levels
were changed for obvious copyright and trademark issues (Zelda is a Nintendo
game, Zeldaonline used the graphics and level layouts from that game). The
new name was called Graal - The Adventure / GraalOnline.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[3-2] General Graal Knowledge
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This section lists terms and definitions of things to do with Graal. Read
this if you don't know what things like gelat, PK, PM and Ap are.

PK
-PK stands for Player Killer. You will also come across PKing which means
Player Killing. Basically this is talking about players killing each other.
If you are in a PK area, that means you can get killed, there are also
non-PKing areas where player killing is banned and the game physically
disables either weapons or the ability to inflict damage. If people label
themself with PK it means they are a Player Killer. They play solely to kill
people, usually new player who have little life and are easy target.

PKK
-Stands for Player Killer Killer. They are players dedicated to killing
player killers. There are even some PKKKers dedicated to killing PKKers!

PD
-Player Defender, these guys usually protect newbies by attacking PKers who
attack newbies.

Newbie
-This is term applying to any one who is new to Graal. Even if you get all
the items and weapons people could still consider you a newbie if you
haven't played for a long time. If you are a newbie you should see section
5-6 of this document which has some important information on how to survive
in Graal. Originally newbies were helped out and lead to items etc. but
these days they are simply targets for PKers.

Oldbie
-Generally if your a good player and have been playing for ages your an
oldbie. Any one who has played since around the days of version 1.2 or
before are usually considered oldbies.

PM
-This stands for Private Message. You can PM (send a private message) to any
other players in the game (see the controls section below for info). The
small map in the bottom left side of the screen allows you to view PM's. The
yellow speech bubbles are either PMs or Mass Messages (messages to
everyone).

Mass Messages
-These are messages sent to every single player currently playing. You can
send a mass message by typing toall: before your message in the speech
field. Example "toall: Hello everyone!".

Sparring
-This is when 2 (or more) players have a fight. Normally only swords are
allowed. You should never ever run from a Spar, and never ever refill your
life during a spar. Sparring is done to the death in sparring levels. You
can tell if you're in a sparring level when your alignment bar (the bar with
the Ying and Yang symbol in the top left of the screen) says "Sparring"
across it. While sparring your alignment will not change. You will not loose
items when you die, and you will not get kills or deaths.

Ap (Alignment)
-Alignment is basically how much a player PKs. People who PK a lot have a
low alignment, people who don't have a high alignment. If your alignment is
less than 40 you can't get increase your health. Your Ap also determines how
many hearts you start off with after you die. If your Ap is less than 20 you
will start with 3 hearts, less than 40 starts with 5 hearts max, and
everything over 40 starts with full power.

Your Ap changes over time and when you kill someone. When you kill someone
your Ap will go down by '(yourap/20+1)*(otherap/20)'(Taken from the
newfeatures141.txt, included with Graal). Changes with time also depend on
your Ap. If less than 20 you will increase 1 ap mark every 30 seconds. If
under 40 you will increase 1 every 2 minutes. If under 60 you will increase
1 ap mark every 8 minutes. If you ap is greater than 80 you will increase 1
Ap mark every 30 minutes (!). 100 is the highest Ap you can get. 0 is the
lowest. If you get to 100 other players can't hurt you.

Your name also changes color depending on what ap you have. Really low aps
are black (for 0) and red. Medium aps are white and green. High aps are
blue, deep blue is a very high Ap. Gold is an ap of 100.

Saint (Player Saint)
-This is some one with 100 Ap (see above). Their name will be gold in color.
You won't be able to injure them at all.

Kill
-You get a kill if you are the one who kills a person (well duh...). If you
take 10 and a half hearts off some one and then someone else takes the final
half of heart to kill the player, they still get the kill, not you.

Death
-You get a death when you die (duh again...). Don't be to harsh to rate
people on there deaths. People die to quickly give money to other people
since when you die you loose all your arrows, all your bombs, and up to 1000
gelat.

Gelat and Rupees
-This is the money in Graal. Things cost gelat to buy. You get more gelat by
collecting rupees. A green rupee is worth 1 gelat. A blue rupee is worth 5
gelat. A red is worth 30 gelat. Gold is the highest valued rupee, worth 100
gelat.

Baddies
-These are all the enemies. The baddies include soldiers, spiders, frogs,
and the lizard people. They are not other player but baddies in the game.
There are none in Graal City, but you will find them wondering around pretty
much everywhere else.

NPC
-Stands for Non-Player Character. NPCs are all the people who are not other
players (such as bar tenders and such). The ATMs at the bank, the Arch that
you walk under at Graal City, and thousands of other things are also NPCs.
NPCs are programmed in GraalScript in the level editor.

Levels
-Graal is made up of tonnes of different levels. Each level is 1024 by 1024
pixels (64 by 64 tiles). If people say go up twice and then left. They mean
go 2 levels upward and then one to the left. The directions north (up),
south (down), east (right), and west (left) are also used. You will notice
when you go to different levels because there is a slight pause while they
load and/or the scene will switch.

The Main PK Zone
-This is basically the centre of Graal. Most players congregate around here.
Its is the level named level13.graal. This is the same level that has Zol's
pub on it, one level east of the bank, 2 levels north of the main Graal
Bridge. If you're a newbie you would be best advised to stay clear of this
area, unless you want to die. This area is so popular because it is along
the main route when going just about everywhere.

The Bridge
-Graal Bridge is 2 levels south of the Zone. Lots of people go over the
bridge because it is the only way to reach a lot of areas to the south.
There is a cool pub under neath the bridge, just jump into the water to the
left and swim under it.

Horse
-You can ride on horses. There are many different horses you can find. You
can find ones that look like normal horses, and also ones that look like
motorbikes, clouds, dragons and even other players. You can move around much
faster on a horse than on foot, especially if you make the horse eat bushes
with the D button.

Account
-You need one of these to play online. You can get one for free at
http://www.graalonline.com. You will also need an e-mail address to get an
account, not only that but the e-mail address must NOT be from a free place
(such as hotmail.com), only e-mail addresses from ISPs are accepted.

Account Name
-When you sign up for an account you will need to give an account name. This
is just the login name for the account.

Nick Name
-This is the name you use when playing. If your nick is the same as your
account name you will get a little * in front of your name (this way people
will know that your are not impersonating someone else). Your nick name can
be changed at anytime, see section 4-4 for information on the setnick chat
command.

Online Time
-This is the amount of time you have played graalonline with the account you
are using. Some players have massed up many hundreds of hours.

MOTD
-This stands for Message Of The Day. When you log onto the server you will
probably get a MOTD, read them because they contain useful information about
new things and new rules etc.

Sword Power
-There are 4 different sword powers. 1 is the normal sword you start with. 2
is the axe. 3 is the lizard sword. And the most powerful, number 4, is the
golden sword. Sword power 1 does 0.5 hearts damages, 2 does 1 hearts, 3 does
1.5 hearts, and 4 does 2 hearts damages. You can not get the golden sword
online, and only recently was the lizard sword available again.

Shield Power
-There are 3 different shield powers. 1 is the normal shield you start with.
You can use it to stop arrows. 2 is the mirror shield, it can actually
reflect arrows and stop fireballs. 3 is the lizard shield which can reflect
arrows and fireballs. The lizard shield was recently removed, but people who
collected it before this time still have it.

Hearts
-This is your life. You can collect both small hearts (which refill your
life), and large heart containers (which increase the maximum life you
have). You start with 3 hearts.

Graal Police (GP's)
-GP stands for Graal Police. These guys give up their time to look after
Graal and stop hackers and cheaters. They can also update any levels that
have stuffed up (sometimes NPC's in levels get really screwed and do weird
things or, more usually, nothing at all). You can't hurt or injure a GP, and
they can put you in Graal gaol and ban your account if you break your user
conduct policy (which you agreed to if you created an account).

MUD
-Stands for Multi-User-Dungeon. These are dungeons where you can team up
with other online players and take on the dungeon and the dungeon bosses
together.

Guilds
-Think of them as groups of people playing in a team. Any thing in brackets
after a name indicates a player's guild (eg. Darkman (NBK) means Darkman is
in the NBK guild). The part in brackets is called the guild tag. Only
members of the guild can use this guild tag. To join a guild you need to
have at least 100 hours online time, then get in contact with the guild
leader. You can start your own guild to, but only after you have been
playing for at least 200 hours (see http://www.graalonline.com for
information about starting your own guild).

I will be adding a guild section to this FAQ, please see the contributions
section (section 2-2) if you are a guild leader or member.

[4] Controls Graal - The Adventure - Guide/FAQ/Walkthrough

============================================================================

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[4-1] General Playing Controls
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The basic controls are as follows:

Lifting objects
- Do this with the 'A' button. You can pick up bushes, signs, pots, and NPCs
(non-player characters). Different gloves are available which give your
player different strength to lift objects. The gloves you start off with do
not allow you to lift rocks. You must collect more powerful gloves to lift
heavier objects

Swing sword
-The 'S' button swings your sword out in front of you. Use it to injure
other players, slash bushes and kill baddies etc. There are 4 different
swords, the more powerful the sword the more damage it inflicts

Use Item
- Press D to use an item. Bombs, bows and boots are all items. Once you have
selected an item by pressing Q, you then press D to use it. There are tonnes
of items hidden through out the land and you can find some very interesting
and funny ones if you look hard enough.

Item menu
- Pressing Q brings up a list of all the items you have. Use the arrow keys
to select the item you wish to equip. Then press either A, S, D or Q to take
the menu away. To use the item you them press D. You can delete some items
on this menu by pressing the delete button on the keyboard when highlighting
the item you want to delete. Be careful though because you can't get them
back!

Map
- Pressing M brings up a map. You can move around using the arrow keys.
Press M again to go back. It doesn't list names of places so it pretty much
useless unless you're seeing where other people are, since their head show
up at where they are located.

Pausing
- P pauses the game. In online mode only you will pause and no one will be
able to hit you. You will still be able to chat. You can press P or space
bar to un-pause. You can exit the game by pressing down when paused, which
selects 'end', and then pressing the space bar. You can't pause in sparring
rooms.

Move around
- Use the 4 arrow keys to more your player around. You can hold 2 directions
at once 2 walk diagonally.

Push
- You can push some blocks around, just walk up to them and press and hold
the arrow key in the direction you want to push.

Pull
- If you hold A while facing an object/wall you will grab onto it. While
holding A press the opposite direction to the way you are facing to pull.

Drop
- Dropping stuff is important. You can give items, money, and heart refills
to people and NPC's. This is often the hardest thing for new players to do.
To drop an item you must hold in S, now press A, an item will appear above
your head. If you press A again the item above your read will change, keep
pressing A until the item you want to drop is above your head. Once you see
the item you want to drop release S and then press A once more.

Horse riding
- To get on a horse just walk over it. To get off just press A. While riding
a horse press D to eat things. You can east bushes and bombs. The more
bushes you eat the faster your horse will run (up to 5 bushes max). If you
get hit you horse will loose 1 bush of power. If you get hit and have no
bush power you will fall off your horse. If you make you horse eat a bomb
you can press D to breathe fire. Each bomb allows 3 fire breaths.

Reading Signs
- To read a sign just walk up to the front of it. Press either right, down
or left arrow keys to continue the message. Press up to go back through a
message.

Chatting
- You can chat to players using the text field at the bottom of the screen.
Just click there with your mouse and type what you want. What you say will
appear above your player's head. You must click back out of the text field
to resume play. You can also press the TAB key to move between the chat
field and normal play control.

Reading Messages
- The mini map in the bottom left corner will show any messages that have
been sent to you. They will appear as little speech bubbles coming from the
player who sent the message. To read the message just click on the speech
bubble with your mouse. Yellow speech bubbles are private messages or
messages to everyone, grey bubbles are general chat messages.

Full Screen/ Window switching
- Hold alt and press enter to switch between full screen mode and a window.
The window can be re-sized to anything up to 1024 by 768. Full screen
resolution is set in the options (F1->options) to either 640x480, 800x600 or
1024x768.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[4-2] Extra Controls
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quick Item Change
- Pressing D while holding in A will equip the next item in your item list.
Its often easier to use this than having to deal with the pop up item menu.

Hiding under objects
- You can hide under most objects that you can carry. Press D while carrying
an object (like a push or a rock) and you will hide under it. You can still
move around slowly, its great for tricking people because your name will not
show up on others screens until they find you.

Server List
- In online mode press F8 to bring up the server list.

Player List
- In online mode if you press F7 you will bring up a player list. The list
shows all the people currently playing on the server. GP's are at the top,
then your buddies, then people in your guild, everyone else and lastly
players you are ignoring. You can right click the player names and choose:

->message - send the player a message. The messages can be in HTML.

->history - see previous messages sent between you and the other player.

->buddy - flag this player as a buddy, they will move to the buddy area.

->ignore - ignore that player, they cant send you any messages.

->profile - View the players profile.

There are also 2 buttons, Profile and Options.

If you select options a small windows will pop up allowing you to select:
-Ignore mass messages (only private messages will appear)
-Don't use HTML in PM's (only normal text will appear)
-No Images in PM's (no images from HTML messages in the PM's)
 -Sort player list by nickname

Pressing the profile button brings up the profile page. You can enter your
details. These include your real name, age, sex, location, ICQ no., e-mail,
Homepage, favourite hangout and favourite quote. If you changed you info
press the send button to send it to the Graal server. Everyone on line will
be able to see your profile. Your profile will also tell players what level
you're in, your time spent playing Graal (online time), your max life (max
power), your rating, your alignment, your kills, your deaths, your gelat,
your sword power, and wether or not you have spin attack.

Viewing Others Profiles
-Pressing F7 and finding the player in list, right clicking the player and
then selecting profile can do this. There is also a much quicker method, if
the other player is on your screen in the play area you can right click that
player with your mouse to bring up the profile window.

Help Window
- Press F1 to bring up the help window. You can access options and settings
here. See section 4-3 for more info.

Load Saved Game
- Press F2 to load a saved game. They have file extensions of '.gsave' or
'.save'.

Save Game
- Press F3 to save your game. Only works in offline modes.

Level Edit
- Press F4 to access the level editor. See section 7 for more information on
it.

Load Level
- Press F5 to load up a different level, only works in offline mode of
course.

Debugger
- Press F6 to bring up the debugger. Very useful for NPC coders.

Screen Shot Captures
- Hold Alt and press 1 to take a shot of the whole level (1024 by 1024
pixels, it does not include sprites (bombs, arrows, players or the menu bars
etc. in the picture)). Holding Alt and pressing 2 will capture the current
screen as you see it (this will capture the all the sprites and menus etc).
The images are saved as PNG's (portable network graphics), Internet explorer
can view these file types.

Mini Map On/Off
- Hold in Alt and press 3 to turn on and off the mini map at the bottom left
corner.

Receiving Speed
- Hold in Alt and press 4. This will show you the bytes received from the
server in the lower right of the screen.

Saving Online Levels for Offline Play
- In online mode hold in Alt and press 5. You can save the online level for
use in offline mode, its not very useful though because NPC script data is
not saved. It also creates NPCs of any players who where in the level at the
time of capture. This is useful if you want to find out what head/shield gif
a player has when they won't tell you.

Recording Movements
- Hold Alt and press 6. This will start recording player movements. NPC
programmers use this to easily make NPC's which walk around in set patterns.
Use Alt with 7 to stop recording.

Zooming in and out
- Hold Alt and press 8 to zoom in. Hold Alt and press 9 to zoom out. This is
good when you want to look at the graphics a little closer and see what
tiles people have used to do levels etc.

Emotion Icons
- If you press Ctrl with a letter (eg. Ctrl+A) your character will display
an emotion icon (a little icon inside a thinking cloud that comes from your
player). The emotion icons are:

A - AFK (Away From Keyboard)
B - BRB (Be Right Back)
C - Confused '?' face
D - Happy grin face
E - Oooo! face
F - Sad face
G - Angry face
H - Love heart
K - Cat's face
L - Laughing face
M - Unsure face
O - Oh! face
P - Poking tongue out face
Q - Telephone
R - Rolling happy face
S - Smiley face
T - Crying face
V - Sorry

[4-3] Options and setup
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pressing F1 will bring up the help window. Here you can load and save games,
Edit and load levels, change the controls and options.

Click general options to bring up the main options page.

If Graal is running to slow disable 'Wait for Vertical Blank' and 'Draw in
compatibility mode' as well as 'Don't connect levels'. If it is still slow
change the resolution to 640 by 480. If this is still to slow re-size the
Graal window (if you are playing in full screen press alt+enter to change
back to a window and drag the window smaller), also make sure you are not
zoomed in or out, as this slows down Graal a lot.

If your character keeps walking in one direction disable joystick support.

[5] Guides Graal - The Adventure - Guide/FAQ/Walkthrough

============================================================================

You will need to know where the main PK zone is in order to follow the
guides detailing where to travel. The main PK zone is level that has Zol's
pub and Azrael's Nightclub on it. It is one level east of GraalOnline Bank,
one level north of Taylor Richard's Shop, and two levels north of the main
Graal bridge, its the level which has the sign saying 'Here in Graal City
you will find many funny houses... Feel free to enter them!'. Also make sure
you have the warp ring item, there are often bugs where you can get stuck
and parts where you'll want to warp away instead of having to back track.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[5-1] Walkthrough
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a suggested walkthrough for graalonline.com's main server. To get
the items see the Guide section for that particular item. Only main weapons
and hearts are listed here. Most other weapons can be picked up at any time,
usually after you have about 8 hearts and the axe.

If at any time you collect 10,000 gelat go and get the Angel Clan Waterfall
cave heart (see section 5-2-6). If at any time after that you collect 5,000
gelat go and get the super bombs.

TIP: If you are in the middle of a castle/dungeon and you are about to die
quickly close Graal and then relaunch the program. Then when you die you
will re-spawn with full life right where you quit.

Walkthrough:
1. If you don't have the warp ring go and get it by saying 'unstuck me'
after not walking or talking for 30 seconds. Then go inside the training
house and work your way through and pick it up.
2. Get the battle axe.
3. Get the Gnomes heart.
4. Get the Onett Town Forest Heart.
5. Get the Zol's Pub Heart.
6. Get the Mirror Shield.
7. Get the Golden Gloves.
8. Get the spin attack.
9. Get the climbing boots.
10. Get the green graal.
11. Get the blue graal.
12. Get the red graal.
13. Get the yellow graal.
14. Get the Midas Realm church heart.
15. Get the Midas Realm cave heart.
16. Get the Kull's castle heart.
17. Get the Sardon's tower heart.
18. Get Tyhm's quest heart.
19. Get the shovel.
20. Get the lava cave heart.

From here on in you should pretty much get the following items in any order,
most of which though often simply don't work due to bugs with NPCs. The
items are:

The Avalon heart - Problem with super bombs not working, basically
impossible to defeat the crab boss.

The Lizard Sword - Problem with boss, sometimes he gets stuck and you can't
defeat him.

NOTE: the fishing pond heart, as well as the Lizard shield, are no longer
obtainable.

[5-2-1] Gnome's House Heart

The gnomes have been forced out of their house by the baddies. And its up to
you to kill them all and allow the gnomes to return home. Hearts are very
important items, they allow you to have extra life containers.

1. Go to the gnome's house/cave. To get there from the main PK zone go south
4 levels (past Taylor Richard's house, over the bridge and past the tables
and chairs surrounded by trees). Near the top left of this level is a door
leading into the dirt hill, read the sign to make sure it is the gnomes
house.

2. Inside the gnomes house kill all the baddies in the whole level. Use your
sword and throw pots at them. Once you do the door in the top left corner
will open. Go through it and kill all the baddies in this level. The ones
that pop up from out of the grass need to be hit after they pop-up and
before they have shot away there arrow. You will be warped to a small pub
when the gnome will tell you how pleased he is and to tell you to return to
his house. Walk out side the pub, you are in the main PK zone again.

3. Return to the gnome's house. Inside you will find a gnome, talk to him
and a chest will appear to the left, get the full heart inside it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-2-2] Onett Town Forest Heart

For this heart you must solve the puzzle of the forest by choosing, in
order, the correct routes.

1. Go to Onett town forest. This is a bit of a walk from the main PK zone.
To get there from the main PK zone, go left one level (to the level with
Graal bank), now north 3 levels, now east 2 levels, and finally north 1
level.

2. At the top of the forest are 3 entrances into the trees. Each time you go
through one you will be warped back to the bottom of what appear to be the
same level each time. Go through the entrances in this order:

Right one, left one, middle one, right one.

You will appear in the hidden treasure part of the forest. Run straight up
and take the heart in the middle chest, there's some gelat in the other 2
chests. You can't open the big fat chest to the right so don't worry about
it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-2-3] Zol's Pub Heart

To get this heart you must make it through the puzzles of the Zol's Pub
dungeon.

1. Get into the dungeon. To do this go to zol's pub (its in the main PK zone
level, its the blue house towards the top right). Go inside and go through
the north-east door. You will be in a little room with 3 pots and a toilet
type thing. Set onto the water of the toilet type thing. You will be warped
to the dungeon.

2. Pull the block out of the way, and head right. Go straight through the
door on the right. You will now be in a maze room. The maze is pretty
simple. Just get to the top right side of the level. (Exact directions: from
the door head east. Take the 4th way north, then the 1st way west, 2nd way
east, then first way south, follow that way till the door.

3. You will now be in a floor tile maze. You have to make it through with
out stepping on the out of place tiles. Look for break marks in the floor
where the tiles don't like up properly and keep away from them. If you step
on one you will be warped back to the start of the room. This isn't too hard
either (if your really stuck e-mail me and I can send you a picture of the
exact areas to avoid).

4. The next room is a warp maze room. As the sign says, study and learn. So,
step onto the warps in the following order; bottom right, bottom left, top
left, top right, bottom right, bottom left, top left. You should come out
near the elf guy. Go north through the door to the treasure. You get a full
heart and 60 rupees. Now use the warp ring to get the hell out of there.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-2-4] Midas Realm Church Heart

To get this heart you will need to have the 4 graals (the red, blue, yellow
and green graals), see the section 5-4 for information on how to get them.

1. Once you have the 4 graals make your way to the Golden Gate, it's just
outside brother's house. To get there from the main PK zone, go south 3
levels and then east one, the Golden Gate is in the center of the level.
Walk up to it and each time you touch it you will place on of the graal's.
Once you have placed all 4 touch it again to be warped to the Midas Realm.

2. Once inside the Midas Realm, go south one level, then east 2 levels, and
then north 1 level. At the very top of this level is a golden church. Go
inside.

3. In the first go through the southern door on the eastern wall. In the
next room just run through into the next room.

4. Kill all the baddies in this room and then push/pull the blocks so you
can get to the chest, it contains the heart container. If you stuff up the
block puzzle quit Graal and re-open it, the puzzle will reset (leaving the
level will NOT reset the block puzzle).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-2-5] Midas Realm Cave Heart

To get this heart you will need to have the 4 graals (the red, blue, yellow
and green graals), see the section 5-4 for information on how to get them.
You will also need at least 200 gelat.

2. Once inside the golden land go south a level. Now go east 1 level, then
south one level, and then east one level again. Towards the east side of
this level is a cave. Go inside.

3. Throw 2 gold rupees into the water, a chest will appear with a full heart
in it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-2-6] Angel Clan Waterfall Heart

This heart is really easy to get, if you have 10,000 gelat that is! This
heart is basically sold for 10,000 gelat inside the Angel Clan Waterfall
cave.

1. Go to the Angel Clan waterfall cave. To get there from the main PK zone
go south one level, west one level. You should see a cloud with stairs on it
saying 'Angel Clan'. Walk inside. Once inside walk east and jump into the
river. Swim north, up the river, under the bridge and into the waterfall.

2. Inside the waterfall there is a magic carpet. Drop 10,000 gelat onto it
and a chest will appear with a full heart inside.

Note: In the past, other rich players were able to drop 9,900 gelat on the
rug and then leave, allowing poorer people to come in and pay just 100 gelat
to get the heart. However this no longer works, the NPC was updated and
everyone must pay 10,000 gelat each. There are a lot of rich players, a fair
few of which will give away cash is you don't have enough. Apart from that
the best way to get the money would be to kill people. Each time you kill a
person they drop 1,000 gelat (if they have 1,000 that is).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-2-7] Kull's Castle Heart

To get this heart you will need to have collected the climbing boots (see
under 'climbing boots' in section 5-4 for details) and have had taken them
to the climber near Graal City Church (you have already done this if you
have already collected the Green Graal). This hearts not to hard but you
should probably have about 5 or 6 hearts at least before getting this one
(and I don't mean 5 or 6 collect, I mean 5 or 6 total, you start with 3).

1. Get to the bridge to Kull's Castle. To get there from the main PK zone go
east one level, then north one level. There is a mountain climber to the
right, talk to him and he will lead you over the mountains. Next go south
through the door. Now go west one level, south one level, and then east one
level.

2. Here you must pick up the green stones and carry them over to the river
where the path stops. Each time you do, a stone will be added onto the
bridge. After you have placed all 12 stones you can go over the bridge to
the other side. The green graal is here so grab it if you haven't already,
then go east one level to Kull's castle.

3. Walk around to the front of the castle and go inside. This is the main
room of the castle. You will go to other rooms and come back to this room a
number of times while doing this dungeon. The first room you should go into
is up in the top left corner. So get to the top left corner of the level
(there are 2 doors here, 1 is blocked by a push block, one is not) and go
through the door.

4. You will be in a small passage, follow it north into the next level.
There are a few baddies in this level. Just as you enter you can see the
exit to your left, you need to get to there. There are 5 chests in this
level, they all contain red rupees, that's 150 gelat if you want it. If you
get it or not just make your way around to the exit of this room, as said
above its in the bottom left corner. You will appear back in the main room.

5. Now your back in the main room, if you look at it there is only 1 door
free to access, its the one at the upper right side of the level, go in it.

6. You will be in a level with little passages. Head straight south down the
passage. You will come appear outside on top of the castle. There are a
couple of chests with bombs here. Now go back inside and go straight north.
It will look like the floor as been blown up or something, just keep going
north right into it and you will be warped back into the main room again.

7. This time go to the bottom right corner of the main room. Go right into
the next room. In this room follow the passage around to the north, there
are 2 passages leading south from here, also there are 2 chests to the north
with gelat. Take one of the southern ways. You will appear out side the
castle, again on a ledge. Talk to the guy there and he will leave behind a
key. Take it. Now go back the way you came all the way to the main room.

8. This time in the main room walk straight up the middle, the key will
allow you to get through the double doors. You will now have to confront
Kull.

9. To kill Kull you have to hit him 3 times with your sword. Just run
straight up to him and slash him, its that simple. Do it quickly, and once
you hit him retreat away from the blast. Repeat 3 times and he will blow up,
you will be warped out side the castle where a chest will be with a heart in
it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-2-8] Sardon's Tower Heart

This is a fairly hard heart to obtain. I recommend you have at least 8
hearts before you start.

1. Go to Sardon's Tower. From the main PK zone it is one level east, then
one level north, then up the stairs to the next level north. Then two levels
east.

2. Go inside the tower and go north into the next level. Go up the main
stairs. At the top of the stairs head make your way south into the next
level and up the flight of stairs here. From here on in there are baddies.
Keep heading north and go through the door. Quickly head up yet more stairs
before you start getting shot at and go through the door.

3. This next room has sliding spike things in it. If you step out in front
of one, it will slide along the path towards you. Just avoid them and make
your way through the room. In the next level is a warp sucker that will pull
you towards it. Just don't use spin attack and you will be fine. Kill the
baddies to open the doors, go through the south one.

4. In this level there are things that shoot arrows and more golden
soldiers. Just make your way south, try not to loose much life.

5. In the next level you will need to push and/or pull the statue onto the
silver square to open the door. Watch out for the rocks that shoot at you.
Never push or pull the statue more than 2 tiles at a time or you will get
hit.

6. In the next room go through the door to the south. In this room you have
to get around to the key. Watch out for the big fire thing going around, it
will change directions every few laps. If your running low on life remember
to quickly close Graal and re-launch it, so when you die you will re-spawn
in the same room with full life. Once you have collected the key head back
the same way you came all the way until the room with the warp sucker thing
that pulls you in. This time at that room take the west door.

7. In this next room you will have to kill all the baddies. Watch out for
the statues they will come to life and try to blow you up. In the next room
go north, the key will let you through the double doors. You will come to
more stairs follow them up avoiding the baddies and go into the next level.
In this room kill all the baddies and to open the door to the south, again
watch out for the statues. Once you kill em all go through the door and
prepare for the battle with Sardon.

8. Refill your life with the hearts, then jump down from the ledge. If your
lucky Sardon will be bugged and you will be able to head straight through
the door to the south. Also if you have a horse you can jump off the horse
landing through the door (takes a while to get it right, line the horse up
about 1 tile from the door and try to get off). If your not so lucky you
will have to actually fight him. To start the fight, just walk up to him and
talk to him. He will give you 3 second to get away. He's not that hard, just
use your sword and retreat after each hit to miss the explosions. Once he's
dead go south and get the full in the chest.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-2-9] Lava Cave Heart

This heart use to be quite easy since you could just swim through the lava,
but now you can't.

I suggest you have at least 7 hearts before even thinking about attempting
this quest. You will also need 300 gelat if you have not been to Zol's Snow
Town before. You will also need the shovel, see the items section for
details on it. This hearth also has you collecting 4 heart pieces to get the
full heart container.

1. Go to Zol's Snow town (see section 5-7 for info on how to get there). Go
to the top left corner of Zol's Snow town and into the massive blue house.

2. In the first room go downstairs. Then go right to the next level. Then go
up. You will be in an out-side section. Go through the 2 rocks to the left.
You will be warped to a another garden level. Walk to the right side and you
should see some normal grass in a little patch, dig in the middle and you
will find a necklace, take it. It will protect you against the heat in the
lava caves.

3. Now go back to the room with the lava and water, this time go south. You
will be in the lava caves. Go south one level. You will have to kill a boss
here, just use your sword. When he is dead take the piece of heart. Then go
south one level, jump from the arrow things and go west one level.

4. There is a heart piece in this room, get it. Now go south 1 level. There
is a heart piece in this level as well, get it. Now go back north one level
and then north again, find the warp tile. Step onto it to go and fight the
boss.

5. The boss is easy, just go to the right part and stand just below the
square, when he appears slash your sword as fast as you can, you should be
able to take at least 5 hearts each time. Once he is dead get the final
heart piece and you will then get the full heart. Use your warp ring to get
out of there.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-2-10]Avalon Heart

This heart is really hard / impossible to get since the mega-bombs never
seem to work. The heart requires you to collect 4 keys (well 3 and a fish),
they are located in and around Kraken's summer house at Avalon. You will
need some bombs to get them all.

1. Go to Krakens secret garden at Avalon. To get there from the main PK zone
go south 3 levels, now go west one level. Go along the dirt passage in the
top left corner. Keep following it and you will come to the main gates of
Graal Castle. Don't go through the gates, instead head west 3 levels. You
should now be able to go south 1 level into some water. Then go west once
again and throw away the rock to get up the bank. The big red house is
Krakens SummerHouse. Head to the left of it. There are some trees there.
There should be a gold tree with some pavers in front of it. Drop a bomb at
the middle bottom of the tree. Part of the tree will blow up revealing a
passageway, go inside. You will be in a tunnel, follow it north to Krakens
garden.

2. In the garden there are 4 statutes lying about. You will have to
push/pull them onto the 4 tiles near the center of the level. Once you do a
yellow key will appear. Take it.

3. Towards the top right of the garden level is a pile of 5 rocks. Blow them
up with a bomb. The waterfall will stop flowing revealing a cave, go in it.

4. Once inside follow the tunnel to the next level west. 3 lizard guys will
run up and ask you for help. They will say to take an object, if your lucky
they will drop the mega bombs. If your not lucky you will get nothing and
you should basically forget about trying this heart. Now continue on to the
west. Then go north into the next level. There should be a guy at a desk who
sells stuff in this level, buy some bombs it you don't have any (you will
need a couple), then take the path east into the next level.

5. Follow it into the level north, this is where the baddies start. Make
your way through the level, just run past them basically. The next level is
basically the same thing, just run, watch out for the sliding spike things.
The next level is again nearly the same, just run past and continue on.

6. In the next level you will see 2 torch stands. Drop a bomb next to each
one so that they catch on fire, this will reveal a passage across the
blackness. Follow it to the other side and on into the next level. In this
level there are fire blasts, use your shield or just run for it if you have
enough life. In the level after that you have to use your shield to block
the fire blast and walk along the narrow path. You will get sucked into the
parts that have no edges so be careful. If you do get sucked in you will be
warped back to the start of the level. Getting through this level can take
many attempts, mainly because the part near the end is really tricky.

7. In the next room you have to kill the lizard guys to make the spikes
disappear. There are 3 groups of them to kill, for each group you kill a row
of spikes will disappear. Don't touch the spikes or you will die. Go into
the next level for the battle with a big crab.

8. Kill the crab using the megabombs, try and get it so they blow when he is
inside his shell. Normal bombs also work I think, but its much trickier.
Once you kill him get the blue key. Now go back out of the tunnel, out of
the garden, all the way back to Krakens summerhouse.

9. Go inside the house. Talk to the guy at the desk, then say "fish" (with
out the quotes). Get the fishing rod and now go back to Krakens garden. In
the garden go to the right side and go fishing at the little fishing part.
You should be able to catch a silver fish, once you do go back into Krakens
house again.

10. This time go to the top left side of the level. There are 2 doors, one
going up stairs and one going down stairs. Go up, in that level you should
see a crack in the wall, bomb it, get the key. Now go back down stairs and
this time take the other way downstairs. Talk to the Ronald McDonald guy
there and he should accept the 3 keys you have and the fish. Keep talking to
him and he will let you in to get the heart. I think you might have to say
"fish" or something for him to accept the fish, I can't remember. Also it
never seems to work if there are other players in the room with you.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-2-11]Tyhm's Quest Heart

This quest, in my opinion, is the best in Graal, Tyhm has done a great job.
First you will need to have at least 9 hearts. You will also need a fair bit
of time, this is quite a long quest. The battles actually are fairly easy,
its just the length of this quest that makes it hard. I will not go into
detail with this quest as much as I have with others. By the time a player
gets here they should be skilled enough to do it with out much help.

1. Once you have at least 9 hearts, the mirror shield and the golden gloves
make your way to the joint, pick up a bush and take it to master Wong's
house (from the joint go west and follow the winding passage all the way to
the end). Walk up to Master Wong and if you're carrying a push he will tell
you to go to mater Li's house. So go to master Li's house and talk to master
Li. He will tell you all this stuff and will mention a doorway near the
passage to Graal cliffs. Now go to the near the entrance of the passage to
Graal cliffs (the western entrance up near the north of Graal). There are 3
entrances into the cliff. Two at the bottom and a door up on the ledge, you
should now be able to go into the door so do so.

2. You should be in an ice room with 5 doors, only one is available to you.
Go in it. You will be at one side of a bridge with some guy who will ask you
questions, the answers are all written on the signs. I believe his questions
change but normally answers are "three" to the first question, "i seek the
graal" to the second and "African or european?" to the third question. You
should out-smart the guy and he will disappear allowing you to cross the
bridge, so do that.

3. Once across the bridge there are stairs both up and down, go up. There is
a house, go in. Read the signs and learn about the blocks and how you have
to blow then up. If you can't quite get it to work just use super bombs and
blow the whole place up.

4. After a bit you will come to a train. Get on the train, you need to work
your way from the right end where you start to the left end. You will need
to flick the first and 3rd switches that you come to, so make sure to check
inside each carriage. Once you do that get to the very front of the train,
there is one more switch there, hit it, the train will stop.

5. You will now meet Megaknight, you will now have to follow him around for
a while, its pretty easy, just follow him on your horse. You will come to
the lizard castle, go inside and make your way up to the top by killing all
the enemies in the room. You will then have to fight the lizard king guy. Do
this buy throwing bushes in front of him so that his own fire bursts hit the
bushes causing them to explode and injure him.

6. Megaknight will lead you to the airship base, but you have to kill 100
smiley guys in this stupid game first. It takes bloody ages. Then go
upstairs, continue through and take a look at the air ship then go the other
way. You will have to fight another boss in a kind of Donkey Kong style buy
making your way up from the bottom 3 levels, its pretty piss easy. You will
then get the power-cell for the air ship. For me there was a warp bug here.
I had to use my warp ring to get down and then come all the way back.

7. Back at the airship, place the power-cell onto the flame thing inside it.
Then turn the 1st and third switches on. Then walk up onto the roof and turn
the switch up there on. The sky ship will take off and you will be able to
pick where you want to go. Go to Zorbi's cloud, talk to her, get her towel
(it's in the house) and give it to here, she will give you a key, take it.
Call the air ship back and this time go to the pumping station, you should
be dropped off at the water fall right near the bridge that you first came
across at the start. This time go down the stairs.

8. Get in the water and swim into the waterfall. Make your way through the
levels in here and you will find a chests a top a big thing. Open it and
then head back the way you came. The level will have changed, there is some
guy who you have to kill, just hit him with your sword, he disappears after
each hit then reappears and tries to hit you so watch out. Once you kill him
you will be warped away to some other place with another key, get the key
and then call the air ship again. Again get dropped off at the pumping
station, and again go down the stairs to the bottom. This time don't go in
the waterfall but go keep going down you should find another little
waterfall where you can enter from the top.

9. In here touch the 2 switches, they will only flick if you have the 2
keys. The door will open. Before you go in drop all your life down to 1 or 2
hearts and make sure you have 5 arrows. Then go inside. There will be a
shadow of your self. Kill it with arrows (it will have as much health as you
have). Once you do you will be warped to its side, go north where you will
finally find the ninja as well as a throwing knife and of course a full
heart container!

[5-2-12]Fishing Pond Heart

*** NO LONGER OBTAINABLE ***

This heart use to be in Destiny (just south of Avalon). Walk into the first
little witch hut (XDaKreepX's Villa). You were able to go fishing and win a
heart but now it just says 'under construction', and even if you do manage
to warp to the fishing pond level, all the NPC's have been removed.

[5-3-1] Battle Axe

Rating: ***** (5 Star)

Very important weapon! You will be using the axe as your main weapon until
you get the lizard sword. With out it you will find killing anything more
than a few baddies a real pain, and it will be nearly impossible to defend
your self against other players. But don't worry because this item is really
easy to get. The axe does 1 heart damage per each slash.

1. - To start with you will need 10 gelat. Do this by cutting bushes or
grass. If for some reason you still can't get 10 gelat go 2 levels south
from the main PK zone. Jump into the river and swim under the bridge. There
is a chest here with 100 gelat in it.

2. - Go to Taylor Richard's shop. It is the big red house in the level south
of the main PK zone. Go inside and pay Taylor Richard 10 gelat (do this by
dropping it at his feet, if you don't know how to drop something see section
4-1). Now take the black and white ninja suit (the one to the top right).
You should now have a black coat and a white belt.

3. - Get out of Taylor Richard's Shop and go east one 2 levels, then north 1
level. You will be at Master Li's House. Talk to the guards out side and
they will let you enter. Go inside and talk to Master Li (the big fat
ninja), he will drop for you the axe. Take it!

Extra note: This item might also be available inside the angel clan
waterfall cave. To get to the angel clan cave from the main PK zone go south
one level, then west one level. You should be able to see the cloud with the
stairs that say 'Angel Clan'. Walk up them. Inside angel clan immediately go
right and jump into the river. Head straight up, you will be able to swim
right under the bridge and into the waterfall, making you appear inside a
cave. Inside the cave the axe should drop out of thin air. Quickly get it
before it disappears, if it does disappear you will have to get it via
Master Li as shown above.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-2] Lizard Sword

Rating ***** (5 Star)

Quite useful, not really a must get though as the axe will usually be good
enough for most people. The lizard sword does 1.5 hearts damage for each
slash. This item is quite difficult to get, I recommend you have at least 8
hearts, the axe, the mirror shield and the golden gloves before you attempt
this.

1. Go to destiny. It's south from Avalon.
Then go west once
again, throw away the rock to get up the bank. Now go just keep heading
south. You will eventually come to destiny (it's the place with all the red
trees everywhere).

2. Once at destiny follow the main path west. You will eventually come to
some pathway thing raised up in the air. Walk under it, you will be
transported to a level under neath it. Walk along in the water heading south
into the next level with the tables and chairs. Note where this room is, you
will have to return here later. Take the south exit. You should now be
outside, walk up the stairs just beside you and go east. There should be a
big blue house, go inside it.

3. Inside the house is this weird maze. You have to push the block out of
the way and then use the sucker thing to pull you through the correct wall
allowing you to continue on. Just try it for a while and you will get it.
Before you go into the next level lay a bomb and pick it up. Walk into the
next room and throw the bomb onto the weird thing on the ground. This should
let you get past and allow you into the next room.

4. The floor pattern is this room says 146, so say "146", the lock will not
disappear but you will be able to just walk over it. Now go through the door
on the right and you will get the destiny gauntlets.

5. Now go back to that cave I told you to note before, the one with the
tables. This time take the west exit there. You need to go west past the
barrier, you can do this by using a bomb, place it so that it blasts you
through the barrier. Then go west over the bridge past the little house and
into Antago's gravity temple (the really big blue temple building thing).
Once inside go up the middle stairs. Then go south past all the arrow
things. You can run through the next bit as well. In the block maze room you
will have to push the blocks out of the way. Antago has gone pretty cheap
here because there are also rock spitters and avoiding them is nearly
impossible. Any way kill all the guys and continue on.

6. The next room has gravity that will spin you around the room in a square.
Go through the south door after killing the baddies. This next room is just
about the cheapest thing I have seen in Graal yet, you will loose 1/2 heart
every second for apparently no reason at all. If your about to die quickly
close Graal and relaunch so when you die you will re-spawn in the room. Once
you manage to kill all the baddies continue west.

7. In the next room go south. Work your way through and get the ID card.
Then go back up to the 4-door room again and this time go west. Kill all the
baddies here. North is the bosses room, west is a room with pots to refill
your life. Only one person can take on the boss at once, which sucks.

8. The boss is quite hard, mainly because there are tonnes of NPCs on this
level and everything goes so slowly. You have to run up to him and hit him.
He will then reflect off your sword and fall to the ground where you will
need to run over and hit him again. Do this about 20 times and you will
finally kill him and get the sword. A lot of the time this level is bugged
and the boss just sits there like an idiot and all your hearts just drain.
If so, you will have to get a GP to update the level. If you do manage to
kill him you will get the lizard sword and the splash boots.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-3] Bow

Rating: **** (4 stars)

You start with the bow. If you delete it you will get it back when you log
on again. Use it to shot arrows, arrows can go through anything but other
players shields.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-4]Bombs

Rating: **** (4 stars)

You will need the bombs to get some items and hearts.

You start with bombs. If you delete it you will get it back when you log on
again. Use the to blow stuff up of course.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-5]Super Bombs

Rating: **** (4 stars)

The super bombs are like normal bombs but cause a much bigger explosion.

1. Go to Zol's snow town (see section 5-7 if you don't know how to get
there).

2. Find the mayor's house (it is the one with ZOL written in flowers in the
front yard). Go inside and go upstairs.

3. You will see the mayor, pay him 5,000 gelat to get the super bombs.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-6]Hammer

Rating: ** (2 starts)

I can't really recall anywhere that you really need the hammer, but you
might as well get it.

1. Go to Onett town (see section 5-7 if you don't know how to get there).

2. Go inside Stefan's House (it's in the top right corner of the house).

3. Pay the guy in there 50 rupees to get the hammer.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-7]Spin Attack

Rating: ** (3 starts)

This is useful against tonnes of baddies at once. Pretty useless against
most human players who know what they're doing. You use this item by
pressing your sword button twice quickly. This will cause you to spin around
with your sword out.

1. Go to mine entry east (at Master Li's house). Lift or blow up the rocks
to get in.

2. Once inside and head south. Avoid all the arrows and you will find a
chest with the spin attack in it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-8] Fire Protect

Rating: *** (3 stars)

This produces an instant explosion right over you. The explosion doesn't
injure you, but any enemies or other players near you will. It's not very
useful any more because it now costs 4 bombs per blast.

1. Go to Nafet River (from the main PK zone go south 2 levels and jump into
the water on the left side of the bridge). Swim west along the river, keep
going and you will get to Graal castle. You will be able to swim inside
Graal castle.

2. Inside Graal castle you have to swim north, the water will constantly
drag you back, which sucks. After about 3 minutes of just going north
through about 3 or 4 levels there will be a little spot to get out of the
water on the right side. So jump out and start heading south.

3. There are tonnes of baddies here, hundreds of them, I suggest you get
about 10 hearts and just run for it. If your going to die close Graal and
reopen it so when you die you re-spawn in the same spot. You will eventually
find the fire protect (it looks like a red-blue colored orb). Use the warp
ring to get out, or you can keep pushing on south and jump back into the
river.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-9] Jolt Bombs

Rating: *** (3 stars)

These bombs cause more damage than regular or super bombs, but the blast
radius is extremely small and they are really hard to get.

1. To get them you have to complete the Chaos Continuum quests, except for
the newer pirate one. I will be including CC information into this guide
soon. To get to CC from the main PK zone, go south one level and into the
little blue house with 'CC' written with stumps on the roof.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-10]Fire Blast

Rating: **** (4 stars)

Cool weapon, shots a blast of fire that then explodes when it hits
something. Very useful when hitting groups of enemies, especially ones with
shields since it explodes when hitting the shield. It costs 1 arrow per
shot.

1. You get this in Chaos Continuum after completing the quests. I will add a
walkthrough for Chaotica soon.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-11]Super Bow

Rating: *** (3 stars)

This bow shots 3 arrows at once all at different widths so you have more
chance of hitting the enemies, but of course, each shot costs 3 arrows.

1. Go to Chaos Continuum (Chaotica) (to get there from the main PK zone, go
south one level and into the little blue house). Walk out of the first house
you start and directly below you is Ned's NPC shop. You can buy the super
bow for 200 gelat inside.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-12]Auto Bow Gun

Rating: **** (4 stars)

This bow shots 5 arrows in a line (or if you don't have 5 arrows, as many
arrows as you have left).

1. Go to Chaos Continuum (Chaotica) (to get there from the main PK zone, go
south one level and into the little blue house). Walk out of the first house
you start and directly below you is Ned's NPC shop. You can buy the auto bow
for 200 gelat inside.

Note: The auto bow gun is also for sale inside Ganarian's house at Onett
town for 50 gelat. However it is bugged and seems to disappear from your
inventory.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-13]God Bow

Rating: *** (3 stars)

This weapon fires a normal arrow, a fireball and a fire blast, all at
different widths, all at once. It's kind of a substitute for fire blast if
you don't have it yet since it costs 4 arrows per shot.

1. Go to destiny (see section 5-7 if you don't know how to get there)

2. Go west until you come to a walkway bridge thing raised in the air, walk
under it.

3. You will appear under it in a different level, follow that water path
down and go down again. You will be in part with a house. Now go south again
and go into the cave. There should be a person with the god bow beside him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-14]Elven Blast

Rating: **** (4 stars)

This weapon costs 5 arrows and shots out a path of leaves that can hit your
enemies, it does 2 hearts damage. Also only the player who fires it can see
the leaves which makes it a bit unfair and stupid.

1. From the main PK zone go west one level, then go north 4 levels. There
should be a horse and some bushes here. Now take the north path, not the one
that slightly curls to the left, the other one and go into the next level.
Keep going straight up and into the next level after that.

2. In this level about halfway up there is a passage right, go right and
then go down into the level below (it should be the same level you were in
but its not). Once you arrive at this level walk straight back up and you
will appear some tree things. Walk up them and you will have to fight a
boss.

3. To kill the boss let is shots bounce off your shield, then run in and hit
it with your sword. After its dead go into one of the middle 2 doors and get
the blue book, which is the Elven blast.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-15]Trident

Rating: *** (3 stars)

This weapon can be used to hit people, also you can hit bushes and then hit
people to do more damage.

1. Go to Antago's house in Destiny (see section 5-7 if you don't know how to
get to destiny). From the destiny entrance Antago's house is one level west,
it's that first weird looking blue one that you come to.

2. Go inside and say 'PHANTASMAGORIA'. Just to the right you will be able to
get the trident. The gravity and opposite boots are also available in this
level for 1,000 gelat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-16]Fire Trident

Rating: *** (3 stars)

This item is pretty much a rip off since it costs 10,000 gelat and isn't
really that much better than the normal one. Hit bombs with it to cause
explosions. Also does damage buy itself.

1. Its sold by a guy in the level south of MoD town, down in the bottom left
corner of the level for 10,000 gelat. To get there from the main PK zone go
west 1 level, north 1 level, and then west 2 levels.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-17]Judgement Knife

Rating: *** (3 stars)

When you use this knifes it throws like a boomerang, it fly's out and will
come back to you, hitting others on the way of course.

1. You get this item by completing Tyhm's heart quest, see section 5-2-11
for details.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-18]Fire Staff

Rating: (0 Stars)

This is useless since magic is not enabled in graalonline yet, so you can't
use it. It shoots out fireballs that explode.

1. You can get this useless weapon in the lava cave at Zol's Snow town. From
the outside the mayor's house go west 1 level to the really big blue house.
Go inside and go down stairs. Then go into the door near the lava. Now go
south one level and you will find the staff in the middle of the level.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-19]Mace

Rating: * (1 star)

This thing is crap. It is slow and has very little reach.

1. To get it from the main PK zone go west one level, then north one, then
west 3 levels, then south one, on the other side of the bridge is a small
hut, inside is a guy who will give you the mace.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-3-20]Cane of Brugara

Rating: **** (4 star)

This weapon is really good. It shoots a blue fireball and when it hits
something it does a jolt bomb explosion, great on enemies near walls etc.

1. Go to Gomtuu's house. To get there from the main PK zone go south 1
level, then west one level. There is a little pond with a warp tile in the
middle, step onto it. You will be warped to another identicle pond in
another area. Now go north to the big red house, it is Gomtuu's house.

2. Once inside go into the door way at the top, the one second from the
right. You will be in a room with 4 warps, go into the bottom left one. You
will now be at Burges tower.

3. The tower is linear, you can't get lost. Just work your way through. Use
your sword to destroy the blue blocks, only certain ones can be destroyed
though. The boss is usually stuck in the wall, but you can still hit him,
once he is dead you will get the cane.

[5-4-1] Climbing Shoes

Rating: ***** (5 stars)

The mountain climber requires these. With them he can take you over the
mountains where you can get the access to Kull's Castle and the green graal.
If you collect all the graals you can get access to the Midas Realm where
you can obtain 2 rather easy full hearts.

1. Go to Graal Church, which is one level east and then one level north from
the main PK zone. Outside the church to the right side of the house is a
mountains climber guy, talk to him. He will tell you that he needs his
climbing shoes.

2. You should be able to see a little cave near the long stairs leading
north. Go in this cave. You will be in a small fence maze. Make your way to
the top right corner. You should see a push block that you will need to move
to get into the entrance to the next level. You will have to place a bomb so
that it explodes and destroys the bush on the left, then slash the bush on
the right so you can push the block left and get through into the next
level.

3. In this next level just jump in the water and make your way all the way
around to the other side and through another entrance. You will be back in
the first fence level, there is another entrance to your right so go through
it. Your back in the water level, walk north and into yet another entrance.

4. Kill the baddies and get the boots. The chests also contain 60 gelat
total. The shoes have no use to you so go back to the mountain climber guy
and give them to him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-2] Green Graal

Rating: ***** (5 stars)

If you collect all 4 graals you can get access to the Midas Realm, in which
there are 2 easy full hearts to collect.

1. You need to have collect the climbing boots (see section 5-4-1).

2. Talk to the mountain climber guy outside of graal church. He will lead
you over the mountains. Next go south through the door. Now go west one
level, south one level, and then east one level.

3. Here you must pick up the green stones and carry them over to the river
where the path stops. Each time you do, a stone will be added onto the
bridge. After you have placed all 12 stones you can go over the bridge to
the other side. The green graal is sitting on a rug on the other side.
Kull's castle is also to the east from here.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-3] Red Graal

Rating: ***** (5 stars)

If you collect all 4 graals you can get access to the Midas Realm, in which
there are 2 easy full hearts to collect.

1. Go to the MoD town cave. From the main PK zone it is 1 level west, 1
level north, 2 west, 2 north. Work your way to the top of this level where
you will find a cave. If you don't have the red or gold power gloves you
will need to use a bomb to destroy the rocks at the entrance.

2. Inside the cave go right and avoid the arrows. In the next level follow
the path, kill the baddies if you want. There is a chest with the fireball
weapon so take it, then go through the opening and get ready for a battle.

3. You will get 3 waves of enemies, just use your sword and kill them all.
Once they are all dead stop onto the little warp tile, you will be warped
back to the start of the cave. Walk up and take the graal.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-3] Blue Graal

Rating: ***** (5 stars)

If you collect all 4 graals you can get access to the Midas Realm, in which
there are 2 easy full hearts to collect.

1. Go to the alien spacecraft. It is one level east of the Golden Gate and
brother's house. From the main PK zone it's south 3 levels and then east 2
levels. The space ship is up on the hill part. Just touch the space ship to
go inside.

2. Once inside go east into the next level. In the middle of this level is a
block puzzle, you will need to push a block over the lighting bolt. When you
do you will get a message that the space ship has now got power again.

3. Now go back west into the first level, and this time go south a level. In
the middle of this level are 3 switches. If they are not all green touch
each one (or you might have to hit them with your sword) till they are all
green. You will either be warped out of the space ship of you will have to
go out yourself. The blue graal should be outside.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-4] Yellow Graal

Rating: ***** (5 stars)

If you collect all 4 graals you can get access to the Midas Realm, in which
there are 2 easy full hearts to collect.

1. You need at least 100 gelat to get this graal.

2. Go to the rich guy's house. From the main PK zone it is south 4 levels
and then west 1 level. It is a red house with golden trees around it. There
will be a sign out the front of it saying 'No visitors, No beggars'.

3. Drop a golden gelat right at the foot of the door. I guy will appear and
he will let you in the house where you will find the yellow graal.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-5] Mirror Shield

Rating: ***** (5 stars)

This shield allows you to reflect arrows, fireballs and rocks. However in
online mode reflected objects don't do any damage to other players (its
bugged).

1. Go to mine entry south (5 levels south of the mine PK zone). Go inside
and go left, go past the sliding blade things, continue on past the pond of
water with all the dead bodies. In the next level make your way to the top
right side, you will find some TNT, touch it and it will follow you.

2. Now go all the way back to the start and this time go right. Keep going
until you find a chest encased in some strong glass, touch it and the TNT
will blow up leaving just the chest, inside is the mirror shield.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-6] Lizard Shield

Rating: N/A (you can't get it any more...)

This item has been removed.

In the past if you went to the east mine entrance you could go north to
Lizard Island, but it was removed for some reason.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-7] Red Power Gloves

Rating: ** (2 stars)

The red gloves aren't really useful. They allow you to pick up light green
rocks, but since you can blow those color rocks up with a bomb there isn't
much point.

1. Go to mine entry south (5 levels south of the main PK zone). Go inside
and go left. Keep going left until you come to a chest with the gloves in
them.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-8] Golden Gloves

Rating: **** (4 stars)

These allow you to pick up even the heavy dark colored stones that block the
way to a lot of places.

1. Go to mine entry south (5 levels south of the main PK zone). Go inside
and go left. Now just keep going north. Ignore everything else, ignore the
baddies, and just keep running north.

2. You will eventually come to a big fire-breathing dragon. You have to get
right up along the fence and slash your sword across at him near his teeth.
When you injure him his eyes will go blue, repeat that about 5 times and he
will die, the fence will break and you will be able to continue north.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-9] Boomerang

Rating: * (1 star)

This thing is crap. All it does is stuns enemies for a second or so, and as
it doesn't actually injure people I put it in the items section.

1. From the main PK zone go south one level. Near the top right of the level
is a cave. Go in it and talk to the guy there. He will give you the
boomerang.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-10]Suicide Dagger

Rating: * (1 star)

If you use this dagger you die, it's as simple as that. It's really funny
when you get tonnes of people to gather and have a mass suicide on Graal
Bridge or something. Its also useful when you want to give another player
money easily because each time you use it you will loose up to 1,000 gelat
and all your bombs and arrows.

1. Go to Caligula's place. To get there from the main PK zone go west 1
level, then north 4 levels, then east 1 level, then keep going north until
the big castle thing which is Caligula's place.

2. Once inside go right. In the next room go down. You will be in a bedroom.
There should be some chests down in the bottom corner. Walk down the gap in
between the chests and you will be taken to a secret spot where you get the
dagger. There is also a thing here that will give you bombs and arrows for a
price. Also from the bedroom if you go right is a shop where you can by the
music and noise makers that also appear to be useless.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-11]Gravity Boots

Rating: * (1 stars)

These make you invincible while you are moving. When you stop moving you
loose all but 2 hearts and are frozen for 2 seconds. So they basically suck.

1. Go to Antago's house in Destiny (see section 5-7 if you don't know how to
get to destiny). From the destiny entrance Antago's house is one level west,
its that first weird looking blue one that you come to.

2. Inside in towards the top right of the level is a guy who will sell them
with the opposite boots for 1,000 gelat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-12]Opposite Boots

Rating: * (1 star)

These things reverse your controls... ok...

1. Go to Antago's house in Destiny (see section 5-7 if you don't know how to
get to destiny). From the destiny entrance Antago's house is one level west,
it's that first weird looking blue one that you come to.

2. Inside in towards the top right of the level is a guy who will sell them
with the gravity boots for 1,000 gelat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-13]Splash Boots

Rating: ** (2 stars)

They are used in destiny to walk over lava and stuff.

1. You get these when you get the lizard sword. See section 5-3-2 for info.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-14]Bomber Boots

Rating: *** (3 stars)

You will need to have the splash boots to get these. They are useful when
people are chasing you around but that's about it.

1. Go to destiny (see section 5-7 for details on how to get there).

2. At destiny go west 2 levels. Go into the cave at the top of the level.
Now swim east until you come to a waterfall, swim up the waterfall, then go
north-east. In the very north east corner is an entrance with some torches
and a sign near it. Push and pull the torches in and out a couple of times,
then get on one of those horses. Jump off the horse so you land through the
sign and then go north.

3. Use the splash boots to get over the lava and go into the house. Inside
the house get the lava hammer. How you will have to warp away, do that and
then go back to the start of the cave again. Again go east, but past the
waterfall to a healing spring. Use the splash boots and walk over the
healing spring. You will be warped to near the bomber boots, use the lava
hammer to pound in the stake and get the bomber boots.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-15]Kaze suit

Rating: (0 stars)

This appears to do nothing. If you use it, it just deletes itself.

1. You get it at Master Li's House. See section 5-7 for info on how to get
there. Inside the house go into one of the doors towards the back, that room
has it suit on a stand.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-16]Arrow Pouch

Rating: *** (3 stars)

This costs 30 rupees, it will refill 10 arrows for you in case you run out.

1. Go to the Graal weapons store. From the main PK zone go north one level.
Walk around the back of the big pyramid thing, walk up the stairs and into
the next level. There is a little blue house here, it's the weapons store.

2. Say 'Purchase Arrow Pouch' to get it. You need to have the money in your
GraalOnline bank account. And even if you do sometimes it just doesn't work.
Also the mirror shield can be brought here for 5,000 gelat, as well as the
red gloves for 500 gelat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-17]MP3 Player

Rating: **** (4 stars, if you want to play MP3's while playing graal)

This will allow you to play 5 different MP3's which all have to be named and
placed in a special folder.

1. Go to Mr. Hack's house. To get there from the main PK zone go west on
level, then north one level. Along the left side of the church is a little
path, which leads to a warp to Mr Hack's house.

2. Once inside the house say 'if you don't use advantage scratch your
ears!'. Part of the wall near the stairs will disappear, go in there. Read
the signs for info on how to use it. Though it simply does not work on some
computers.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-18]Bee Bottle2

Rating: (0 stars)

This is useless. You use to be able to carry potions in bottles but now they
do nothing.

1. To get it go to MoD town (from main PK zone its west 1 level, then north
1, west 2, north 1). Once in mod town go east between the fences into the
carnival area.

2. Over on the right side of the level is a port-a-potty, go inside and get
the bottle.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-19]Rat Form

Rating: * (1 star)

This transforms you into a rat. You can't do anything but walk around while
your a rat. Also it doesn't let you fit into smaller gaps than normal so
it's pretty much useless, but the little quest to get it is quite well done.

1. Go to the lake. It's way down in the south east corner of Graal. Use your
map to find it.

2. From the west side of the lake go west one level. There should be trees
everywhere. A group of them should have an entrance, go in it. You should be
at a weird well thing. Place a bomb at the center of it. Then go down the
well. You will come out at a forest that is all on fire. Now go west. You
will be at a small forest village that is on fire. Walk up the hills to the
leader who is sitting there. You will then get a spell cast on your and you
will turn into a rat.

3. Make your way back to the to well the fall down it again. Sometimes you
can't get back inside because of the stupid fire that blocks your path, just
sit there for ages until it moves.

4. You will find your bomb lying in a puddle. Now go north, and make your
way through to the next level. Make your way to the center of that level
where you will have to fight a guy. Once he is dead hit the orb thing with
your sword.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-20]Money Snake

Rating: * (1 star)

It has no real use, just drops a whole crap load of green rupees in a snake
like shot. You buy it for 100 gelat and you can only use it 3 times to shoot
3 lots of 30 gelat, so its just for fun.

1. Go to the joint (see section 5-7 for details).

2. Go west one level. There should be some building about Graal history or
something. Go inside it, and go to the old Silmaria Graal, there is a shop
somewhere in there around the near the entrance that sells it for 100 gelat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-21]Shovel

Rating: * (1 star)

As far as I know the only spot where you can actually dig stuff up now is at
the lava cave where you can dig up the necklace.

1. Go to the Joint, then go one level to the left. There is a witch hut
house here (its the Graal Historic Museum). Go inside and pay your 5 gelat
to take the tour.

2. Once inside go north 2 levels. In this level there is a little house with
'Mystery Maze' on a sign out side it. Go inside and pay 100 gelat enter the
maze. The prize when you get to the end of the maze is the shovel and about
160 gelat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-4-22]Burger Refuge Food

Rating: ** (2 star)

At the Buger Refuge you can buy a sub, cheeseburger, hambuger, soft drink or
an ice cream. They can be used any time anywhere to refill your life.

1. Go to the Buger Refuge (blue building one level west of the main PK
zone). Inside read the sign for instructions how to buy the food.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[5-5] Gelat
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This section will list places where you can pick up at least 1 golden rupee
(100 gelat).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-5-1] Bannon's Tomb. - 565 gelat.

This is pretty easy and you will get a lot of cash. From the main PK zone go
west 1 level, and then north 2 level. At the right side of this level should
be a cave with a grave up above it on the hill, this is Bannon's tomb, go
inside. The first room has a crappy 5 gelat so go straight into the second
room. You will notice that there are line marks on the floor. Make your way
to the top right corner with out touching these line marks and then touch
the bookcase. You will be in a hidden level where you will find 500 gelat in
the chests. Don't for get the 2 chests in the level before that either,
which is another 60 gelat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-5-2] Bushes into the trees - 100 gelat.

There are some bushes leading into some trees 1 level west and 2 level north
of the main PK zone. Just walk straight into the trees where the bushes seem
to be pointing. You will appear in this little room, kill the baddies and go
through the door. You will be in the boiler room. Again kill the baddies and
go through the door to the north. You will find a chest here with a gold
rupee in it, this use to be a full heart.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-5-3] Under Graal bridge - 100 gelat.

Go to Graal Bridge, jump into the water and swim under it. There is a chest
with 100 gelat in it. The main Graal bridge is 2 levels south of the main PK
zone.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-5-4] Abermose's shooting range - 220 gelat.

Go one level east of the main PK zone. There is a big red house here. Go
inside. Take the first left, then take the first north, buy some arrows if
you don't have any from the sales guy, then go north into the shooting
range. Shoot the guys and the bush will disappear, go through the door and
get the gelat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-5-5] Cave in destiny - 200 gelat.

Go to destiny (see section 5-7 for info). Once there go 2 levels west. There
is a cave to the north go in it. Go east until you get to a waterfall. Go up
it. Now go all the way north. Then go west, there is a bridge, go across it,
it will lead you west and then south to 200 gelat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-5-6] Lava Cave - 100 gelat.

There is 100 gelat in the lava cave. Once you get in the lava cave just go
south and in the level where you jump from the arrows go straight south and
you will find a chest with 100 gelat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-5-7] Gomtuu's House - 200 gelat.

There's 200 gelat in his bedroom. See about the 'Cane of Brugara' item
section for details of where his house is.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

[5-5-8] Burges Castle - 100 gelat.

Inside the castle on about the 3rd level is a chest with 100 gelat. See
under the items section about 'Cane of Brugara' for details about Burges
Castle.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you know of other places where you can get golden rupees please see the
contributions section and send in the info of where they are. More are
coming soon.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[5-6] Newbie help
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

First thing you should do when you start is to change you head and shield
gifs. To this by typing 'sethead head102.gif' and 'setshield
darkman-shield.gif' (use whatever gifs you want) into the chat felid.

When you start Graal you will start in a garden. Go straight up into the
training house. I suggest you spend time here and learn how to do
everything. Make sure you pick up the bow and arrows, the bombs and the warp
ring, you will need them all.

If there is any other newbies in the training house talk to them and try and
team up and go collecting the items together.

Once you get into the main world with all the other players I suggest you
just run. See the walkthrough section above of what items to get first. If
other players try and fight you, don't fight back. You won't stand a chance.
They will likely have 10+ hearts and the lizard sword, meaning you will have
to hit them over 20 times to kill them, while they will only have to hit you
2 or 3 times.

Also, press F7, the player list will come up. Look for players with names
like 'Helpers of Graal' or 'newbie helpers' etc. Watch out though, because
some of them are just bastards who will trick you. If not talk to them and
they will probably help you out by leading you to items and hearts.

If you need some gelat (money) find an area with lost of bushes, then use
bombs to blow them all up (some of them will drop gelat, bombs or hearts),
wait around and the bushes will then respawn to you can destroy them again.

[6] Actual FAQs Graal - The Adventure - Guide/FAQ/Walkthrough

============================================================================

Q: I saw a player hanging off the head of another player! How do I do that?

A: They were actually just riding a horse that looks like a player. There
was something like this in a previous version (I think), but it was removed.

Q: What's newworld?

A: The 'New World Project' is a project that will provide Graal with totally
new levels and totally new tilesets and sprites. You can read all about the
project at http://www.graalonline.com/newworld.

Q: When is neworld coming out?

A: Last I heard it was due to be completed in December 2001(!?).

Q: Are there any previews?

A: Well I don't think there are supposed to be, but a member of the team (or
perhaps a graalonline staff member, or maybe even a hacker) did leak out the
tile set and a modified graal.exe which runs a version of Graal using the
new tile set. Don't ask me for, or how to get, these files. The New World
project is supposed to be operating behind closed doors, though many other
people have seen these files. The newworld looks a lot more scruffy and
real, much more old day RPGish. The water looks like the water in Total
Annihilation.

Q: What are the system requirements for Graal? Would it run on my 486?

A: GraalOnline.com recommends you have a 300Mhz Pentium II with 64 Meg Ram
and 8Meg Video card. I have personally ran Graal in online mode on a 133Mhz
PI with 16 Meg Ram. You also need Direct-X 5 (get it from
http://www.microsoft.com) and Windows and an unzip program (such as WinZip
or PKUnzip). I do remember running Graal version 1.2 something on a 486
laptop with 12MB ram, but only in offline mode.

[7] Level Editor Graal - The Adventure - Guide/FAQ/Walkthrough

============================================================================

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[7-1] Editor Controls
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Press F4 to enter the level editor (offline mode only). You make levels by
arranging tiles onto the level. You must add the links (warps to other
levels) for doors and walking into the joining levels. You can then also add
NPC's and program them to do all kinds of different things. Basically you
use the mouse to select what you want you want to place from the right side
of the screen, and then click to place it into the level at the right spot.

The controls are:

P - Play the level.

M - Make map (this makes a map of all the levels listed in bigmap.txt inside
your Graal folder).

S - Pop up the edit signs window

L - Pop up the link/warp list window

Selecting tiles in the level and left dragging - This moves the tiles as a
group. The background tile will be underneath.

Double clicking tile in the level - This sets it as the background tile.

Selecting tiles in the level and right dragging - This copies the tiles as a
group, this is very useful, and there are a lot of people who don't know
about it.

The buttons along the top are self-explanatory.

To make a warp select the tiles you want to be the warp area. Now click the
white arrow button in the tool bar at the top (not the white arrow button
with the hand). You will then need to enter the file name of the level to
warp to (such as level1.graal etc.). The destination co-ords are counted in
tiles. The level is 64 by 64 tiles, your can also use playerx and playery to
use the players current x and y co-ords.

To make a sign click the little sign button in the tool bar. Click new and
enter the X and Y co-ords of the sign (again these are in tiles). Enter what
you want the sign to say (press the 'showcode' button to see how to enter
all the extra characters, remember that there is no '@' symbol so use '#4'
instead). After you done click close, on the map you will see a red
rectangle 1 tile high by 2 tiles long. You must still place the actual tiles
of the sign so that the bottom of the sign lines up with the bottom of the
red rectangle. Since you can place any tiles you want there a sign can be
made to look like almost anything (common examples are bookcases and
tombstones).

To place enemies chest and NPC's you just click the 'Baddies,Npcs,Chests'
radio button on the right. Then click what you want and then click some
where in the level. When you place a chest you will be asked to pick what is
in the chest, the sign index means what sign you want to pop up when the
player opens the chest (use -1 for no message). When you place an NPC you
will be asked to assign it an image, you can program it by clicking the
action button and typing in your code. See section 7-2 for more info on NPC
programming.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[7-2] Graal Script (NPC programming)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The best way to learn Graal script is to:

1. Read the 'npcprogramming.doc', it is included in your Graal folder. Also
the file 'commands.rtf' lists all the commands.

2. Basic knowledge of C programming is useful because GraalScript is
similar.

3. Look at other people's NPCs. This is probably the best way to learn. The
hardest part about learning to program NPCs is learning what commands are
available and what the hell they do.

Below I have written an example of GraalScript, this NPC will sell the
player arrows. It does this by picking up gelat dropped by a player and then
dropping darts. Anything after // is a comment and can be included in the
actual GraalScript (it will be ignored).

//NPC by dacium
if (playerenters) // if the player enters the level
 {
setgif salesman.gif //sets the image of the NPC to a salesman.
 }
if (playertouchsme) //if the player touches the NPC
 {
message I'll sell 5 arrows for 10 gelat!;//the npc will say this
sleep 3;//the npc will stay as it is for 3 seconds
message ;//what the npc said will now disappear
 }
if (playerlaysitem) //if the player drops an item
 {
  take greenrupee;
  take bluerupee;
  take redrupee;
take goldrupee; //npc will take all different colored rupees
  while (rupees >= 10) //while the NPC's rupees are 10 or more
   {
lay darts; // drop a bunch of darts (5 arrows)
    rupees-= 10; //take 10 rupees away from the NPC
   }
 }
//end

More examples on GraalScript to come in future versions.

[10] Closing Graal - The Adventure - Guide/FAQ/Walkthrough

============================================================================

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[10-1] Version History
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

version 0.9.2 - 2 Nov 200 - 113KB
-Minor corrections to most sections, also spell checked the whole document
again. Added some more gelat spots. Added info on the cane of Brugara. Also
added info about the food available at the Burger Refuge. Added info on the
setbody command. Changed info about bombs, bow, shield and gravity boots.
Removed the guilds section. Added a link and that's about it. Also thanks
for all the positive feedback everyone!

version 0.9.1 - 30 Nov 2000 - 112KB
-Correction to time you need to have played to join/start a guild. Added the
shovel into the items section (since you can get it in Silmaria now). You
can use the shovel to get the lava cave heart again, so I have added
information about it. I also made small changes to a number of other
sections.

version 0.9.0 - 29 Nov 2000 - 109KB
-First Public Release. I have been doing a little bit on this FAQ each day
for about a week and now it is ready for the first release. I would like
people to e-mail me details of every item/weapon not listed, as that would
help me a lot. Also e-mail me details about guilds. This version contains
basically no information on the CC quest. No information on other worlds is
given (apart from Desinty, but it's not really another world anyway).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[10-2] Document Information
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This document is Copyright 2000 by Dacium. See section 1 for more legal
information.

I (Dacium) started this document because no one (to my knowledge) had
written a decent FAQ/Guide apart from on some web sites, most of which went
dead after 1 week and did not keep up with the forever changing Graal. I
plan to update this document whenever something in it becomes out dated, or
when anything new comes to Graal.

This document was wrapped to 76 characters per line by a program I made
(since I couldn't find one that did it for me). The program inserts returns
between words so each line is no longer than X number of character, you can
make x what ever you want, useful for FAQ writer's since you can type the
document in wordpad and not have to worry about mucking around with returns,
then you can use the program to add all the returns in for you. If you want
it e-mail me. I also programmed an unwrapper that converts back again so you
can add words/sentences to existing wrapped faqs\text files with out having
to change all the returns for the whole paragraph etc.

Special thanks to the people who contributed and those who have helped me
out when playing Graal all this time.

Well that's the end, thanks for reading all of this, well some of it any
way, see you Graaling sometime!
