-= 1. What's New -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Version 1.2 (6/29/00): I added the list of known Game Shark codes as of now for
this game.

Version 1.1 (6/28/00): With this update, I added the three possible solutions
to that puzzle in World 4, Level 3.

Version 1.02 (6/27/00): I just decided to add the boss characters to the
Enemies section to make it that much more complete.

Version 1.0 (6/27/00): Here is the complete version of this FAQ, and just in
time since the US version of the game is released today! As for today's update,
I added a complete enemy list, as well as a few secrets. I also changed a few
words around to reflect the US version instead since this FAQ is meant mainly
for the US version of the game!

Version 0.97 (6/26/00): I started to add a list of the enemies for this game
here. I only listed information for 26 out of the 72 regular enemy creatures,
but in the next update, the entire list should be here.

Version 0.95 (6/26/00): I've added information on the last crystal piece, as
well as information on the final boss battle. Also, I included updated names of
each mini-game, as well as the addition of a Secrets/Tips and Tricks section.

Version 0.9 (6/20/00): Finally, I completed Kirby 64, therefore this
walkthrough covers the entire game from start to finish! Unfortunately, I was
unable to provide information on one of the crystal pieces in the game, which
means if you followed this guide, you should be only at 99% right now. I will
update again sometime with some extra information here and there, as well as
help on finding that crystal piece I left out!

Version 0.7 (6/19/00): Here, I've included a full walkthrough for all of World
5, including information on defeating the boss there. I've also created a
Credits section because I wish to credit Kirby64.com for the real names of the
bosses.

Version 0.5 (6/18/00): This update includes a walkthrough for all of World 4.
However, in Level 4 of World 4, I could not include information on obtaining
the second crystal piece in that level. I will add help on getting that piece
when I figure out how to reveal it.

Version 0.4 (6/17/00): With this update for today, I've completed the
walkthrough for all of World 3. Look for more additions to the walkthrough with
future updates!

Version 0.35 (6/16/00): So far, my walkthrough covers up to and including World
3, Level 3. I also added an Items section to this FAQ. Check back soon for more
updates!

Version 0.3 (6/16/00): I finished the walkthrough for World 2, which will help
you through those parts, as well as get all the crystal pieces up to that
point. Also, I finished the ability combination list, so go check that out to
read about some pretty nice combos!

Version 0.25 (6/15/00): I've added a walkthrough for the first two levels of
World 2, as well as more ability combinations. Later on, I'll update again and
finish the walkthrough for World 2, as well as the ability combination list!

Version 0.2 (6/14/00): This update includes a complete walkthrough for all of
World 1. I also added some more ability combinations to the list.

Version 0.1 (6/14/00): The first version of this FAQ. Only the first couple of
levels, as well as very few of the abilities are covered in this beta version.
Check back daily for more updates as I play further into the game and try out
more new abilities!

-= 2. Introduction -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards is the long-awaited game starring Kirby on the
Nintendo 64. The game is a side-scrolling game like the other games in the
series, but it has more of a 3D look to it in some parts. You can also use a
combination of two abilities to make your attacks better and stronger. This
game is so great, despite the fact that it's not totally in 3D, anyone would
enjoy playing this game!

-= 3. Story -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

(Note: This is not the story from the instruction manual since I have the
import version of the game. This is just me explaining the story, but I will
add the manual's story when I get my hands on a US copy.)

On a nearby planet named Ripple Star, lives a group of fairies. They were
living peacefully until one day when Dark Matter appeared from space and
started attacking Ripple Star. To try and protect their most valuable resource,
a magical crystal, one of the fairies named Ribbon took it and started flying
it away from the danger. While flying through space, Dark Matter pursued her,
then attacked and the crystal was shattered into many pieces. The fairy landed
on nearby Popstar with one of the shards and told Kirby about what happened.
Now, Kirby must go and find all the pieces of the crystal scattered across 6
planets throughout space.

================
World 1: Popstar
================

World 1, Stage 1
----------------

From the start, go right and inhale any of the enemies you want to either get
the Fire, Cutter, or Spike abilities. Continue right and take the not-so-hidden
crystal shard in the air. Then, keep going right until you reach the log cabin.
Take the Maxim Tomato in front of the door to recover any lost health, then go
inside. Defeat the mini-boss by using your ability or by inhaling the small
enemies that appear in mid-air and spit them back at the mini-boss. After you
beat it, go through the other door back outside again. Keep going all the way
right until you meet the small Poppy Bro. Lose your current ability and inhale
and swallow it to obtain the Bomb ability. Continue right to the water area,
then throw a bomb at the black platform in the water to reveal another crystal
piece. Take it, then get out of the water. Take the Maxim Tomato on the land,
then go right to the end. Watch the short cinema scene, and then get ready to
fight the level boss. Defeat it using your ability or by inhaling/spitting the
stars that appear when it falls down after charging at you. After you beat it,
take the crystal piece and play the Goal Game, then you beat the level!

World 1, Stage 2
----------------

From the start of this stage, go all the way right through the first area until
you reach the next part, which is where you enter the tree. There, take the
Spark ability from the nearby enemy and use it while ascending this tree trunk
to defeat other enemies. Once you make it to the top, go right out of the tree
into the next area. Here, hop onto the platform and the Waddle Dee will move it
down the track. Collect the small stars along the way, then when you see a
vertical row of small stars near the bottom of the screen, jump off the lift
and through those stars. At the bottom, you'll get the crystal piece. As soon
as you get it, quickly start flying back up to the lift or else Kirby will run
out of breath and fall down the pit, losing a life. If you make it, go right
into the next room. Here, drop down the middle of the room, collecting the
small stars along the way, but fly towards the right so you don't fall into the
hole in the middle just yet. Take the power-up to the left and the 1-Up to the
right, then jump into that hole leading to a mini-boss battle. Defeat it by
either using your current ability or inhaling and spitting out the small
enemies that appear. After you beat it, take the crystal piece and go right out
of the end. Watch the short cinema scene, then get ready to fight Adeleine, the
level boss! Read the Bosses section of this guide to find out how to beat her.
After you beat her and her creations, take the crystal piece that appears and
play the Goal Game and you've cleared the level!

World 1, Level 3
----------------

From the start of this level, go right all the way into the castle. It would
help if you obtained an ability along the way there. Once inside the castle, go
right up the stairs into the following room. There, go right and jump onto the
platform and it'll start moving to the right. Avoid the flying enemies that
might get in your way during the short ride. At the other side, take the Cutter
ability and continue right into the next room. Here, make your way to the top
of the room while avoiding the spiked Gordos along the way. Fly through the
hole at the top to get back outside above the castle. If you need health, go
left and take the Maxim Tomato, otherwise go right. Here, defeat and take two
of the Cutter enemies' powers so you'll have two Cutter abilities combined.
Now, go right all the way to the other side, and then jump into the hold in the
floor to the room below. Fall to the floor below, then use the Cutter ability;
the combined Cutter is large enough to cut through the green block in the
floor. Drop through the hole you just made to obtain a crystal piece. Jump up
out of the water and go right into the next room. Here, you'll see the painter
in the background making a picture. Do not leave this room yet, instead wait
for him to finish the picture, which turns out to be a 1-Up, then take it when
he throws it to you! Now, continue right to the next area. Before you go right
and up the steps, fly up to the ledge above the doorway and take the crystal
piece hiding up there. Next, go right and along the steps all the way around
the room. Once at the top of the path, climb up the chain to the next floor of
the room. There, go left and climb up the second chain you come across (you
should see a ray of light coming down from the ceiling as you approach this
chain) to get outside again to the end area. Here, get ready to battle King
Dedede, who is the boss of this level! Check out the Bosses section of this
guide for help on defeating King Dedede. After you beat him, take the crystal
piece, play the Goal Game, and you're done with this level!

World 1 Boss Level
------------------

For this world, you'll be fighting Whispy Woods, just like in all the other
Kirby games in the series! Read the Bosses section for details on how to defeat
this boss. After you beat it, you'll receive the first large crystal shard and
gain access to World 2!

==================
World 2: Rock Star
==================

World 2, Level 1
----------------

From the beginning of this level, go all the way right across the long desert
scene to the next area inside the building. There, go right and you'll see a
couple of blocks with eyeballs that'll drop to the ground and try to crush you
if you walk by. Right before the second one, fly all the way up above it and
take the crystal piece. Drop back down and inhale one of the rock enemies to
get the Stone ability. Now, continue right and go up the platforms all the way
to the following room. There, you'll fight a mini-boss that makes enemies with
the Needle ability appear. Inhale one of those enemies and take their Needle
ability, then use it to defeat the mini-boss. After you beat it, take the
crystal piece that appears and go right out of the room. Here, the room will
fill with sand and will scroll upward. Climb the right wall first, and then
jump onto the first ledge. Then, go left and climb up the left wall to the next
set of ledges. Repeat that alternating pattern until you reach the top and
Waddle Dee makes a hole in the ceiling for you to escape through. Once outside
again, go right through the area. Watch out for the plants with teeth because
when you try to walk by them, they'll come forward and try to attack you. Run
by after they pull back to avoid getting hurt. Inhale the electrical enemy
nearby and take the Spark ability and combine it with your Stone ability. Now,
go back to the beginning of this section of the level. You'll see a striped
wall; use your ability to knock it down. Take the crystal piece that was hiding
there, then go all the way right to reach the end of the level and the Goal
Game!

World 2, Level 2
----------------

From the start, go all the way right through the grassy area. Be careful when
walking past the columns because they'll collapse as you walk by. When you
reach the next area, you'll have to navigate through a maze. First, go all the
way right to the boundary between Kirby and the crystal piece. Then, jump onto
the platform above you, and then fly up through the hole onto the next
platform. From there, fly up to the second to top level where you can find a
food item to recover some health with. When the floor under you disappears,
drop down to the floor below and go right. Drop down to the platform below you
and go left. Jump over the small column and drop down to the lower level. Now,
stand in the middle of that platform to drop down to the area with the crystal
piece. Be careful of the enemies that'll attack you when you come down, and
take the crystal piece. Now, get out of the maze and continue right into the
building. Inside, jump up the steps to the middle section where you'll see a
small star. Drop down and take the crystal piece below in mid-air, then quickly
fly up to the ledge you were on. Continue right down the steps and go ahead
into the next room. Go right through the water area and you'll come across
white platforms on the ground. Don't step on them because they'll move up to
the ceiling to crush you! Once you make it to the other end of the room, fly up
to the high ledge with the small stars on them and go through to the next room.
In this new area, go right while avoiding the enemies and cannonballs being
shot at you, and run all the way to the following room. When you enter this
room, King Dedede will run in and you'll jump on his back. Here, you have to
make your way through the maze and use King Dedede's hammer to break down dark
colored walls. From where you enter, go right and knock down the wall you come
across. Then, climb the chain all the way to the top and jump onto the platform
there. Climb the chain there up to the ledge to the left and jump onto it.
Climb the wall, then when you reach the top, break down the wall. Next, climb
up the ladder on the wall while avoiding getting burned by the fire enemy. Once
at the top, go right and jump over the two pits and knock down the wall there.
Take the crystal piece there, and go back and drop down the pit to the chain.
Climb down it, then go right to the second chain and go down it for one level.
Jump onto the right ledge and break the wall there, then climb up the chain
there to the top. Go left and break down the wall, and then climb up the chain
all the way to the ceiling. Then, go right and play the Goal Game, then you'll
exit the level!

World 2, Level 3
----------------

(Please note that before you enter this level, make sure you have the Stone
ability. You can find it near the beginning of World 2, Level 1.)

From where you drop into this level, go right all the way to the fossil-shaped
rock that's barring access to the crystal piece. Fly over it, then go right
down the path a tiny bit; you'll see a section of the path that's a brownish
color. Use your Stone ability on that section to break through, then defeat the
enemy with a skull on top of it. Then go left and collect your crystal piece.
Now, get back out of that little alcove and continue right all the way to the
whirlpool and jump in. When you land, go left and jump into the first whirlpool
you reach. In the next room, you'll fight a mini-boss that makes these small
replicas of itself fly around. They have the Cutter ability if you were
interested in changing abilities. Defeat this mini-boss quickly and easily by
standing under it and repeatedly using your Stone ability. The rubble that
flies in all direction when you want to become Kirby again will injure this
boss. Keep doing that until you defeat it, then drop through the hole in the
floor. When you land in another room, go left and take the crystal piece
floating there in the air, in a not very hidden place! Now, go right and drop
into the hole at the other end of the room. In the next room you land in, make
your way all the way to the right to the hole there. Jump into the water there
and swim into the next room (I'm referring to the hole at the far end of the
room, not the whirlpools where those enemies pop out of). When you fall into a
pond in the next room, jump out and go right. Fly over the whirlpools along the
way because there are enemies that'll come out and snap at you. When you reach
the pond with the small stars at the bottom, jump in and swim down to the next
room. In this completely submerged room, swim right and down, following the
path of the stars along the way. Watch out for the enemies along the way since
you can't get away from them as quickly as you can in the air. Follow the path
down and right into the next room. There, continue following the path of the
stars right and up. About halfway up, watch out for the spiked platforms
that'll fall down towards you. Swim around them as they appear on the screen,
then when you have the option of going right, continue moving up instead. Go up
and take the crystal piece in the upper-left corner, then take the right path
out to the Goal Game you play after each level! Play it and you've finished
another level!

World 2, Level 4
----------------

From the start, head right and inhale the missile enemy to obtain the Bomb
ability. Now continue heading right through this area. You'll notice in the
background that the giant, black pyramid is rising up into the air. You'll be
getting there soon enough, so continue going right. When you cross the small
bridge, watch out because there's a gap in the middle of it. When you finally
reach the area underneath the floating structure, stand on the platform to be
brought inside. When you're being brought up through the pyramid, there will be
cannons from three sides of the room shooting at you. Avoid their shots as the
platform brings you up the shaft. When your ride brings you into the following
room, get off the platform and you'll see that there are yellow and red ledges
that move in and out of the walls. You'll also see a crystal piece boxed in the
middle area. To reach it, jump when there's a space between the ledges and make
your way to the top of the room. Try not to get caught in between a moving
platform and a wall because you will instantly lose a life. Wait for openings
in the platforms and drop through into the middle area to get the crystal
piece. Now, get back up to the top by waiting for spaces in the platforms, then
jumping. Stand on one of the platforms just below the hole and withdraw your
Bomb ability and throw the star straight at one of the blue diamond shaped
enemies in the upper corners to combine their abilities. Inhale and swallow
that new star to get the Bomb and Spark ability combination. Now, fly through
the hold in the ceiling to reach the next room. In this darkened room, you'll
see Adeleine standing next to the back wall, which has three dark squares on
it. Use your ability combo to light up the room and view the paintings in the
squares. The three paintings are random each time you go through the level. Now
that you've seen those pictures, go right into the next room. There, you'll
find a bunch of switches. Stand on and activate the three switches that
resemble the pictures in the previous room. If you don't remember them, just
step on the second to last switch, the fourth switch, and the second switch
from the left. After you do that, a crystal piece will appear on the platform
to the far right. Take it, then climb the ladder on the wall to the next room.
Here, go right up the different colored blocks, then ride the large block
platform up to the next ledge. Then, go right and catch a ride on the next one.
When you get to the next ledge to the right, jump off the right side and you
should land on a ledge below you, which has a few small stars and a 1-Up. Take
them, then go left and stand on the purplish colored block and fly up to the
platform you jumped off of. Now, ride the next large block up to another ledge.
Wait for the next block platform to appear from the left, then ride it to the
next moving block. Ride the next one to the following ledge, then stand on the
large purple block to be brought up to the next room. Here, you'll fight a
mini-boss that uses the Spark ability. Inhale one of the small enemies it spits
out if you don't have an ability with you and take its Spark ability. Use the
ability to defeat the mini-boss. After you beat it, take the crystal piece and
climb up the right ladder into the next room. There, make your way up through
the room by climbing on the yellow electrical poles. Watch out because when you
grab onto the pole, an electrical enemy forms and tries to knock you off the
pole. Jump onto one of the ledges to escape getting hit. When you get to the
top, fly through the hole to play the Goal Game and end the level!

World 2 Boss Level
------------------

Here, you'll be fighting the boss of World 2, Pix. Read the Bosses section for
details on how to beat it. After you win, take the crystal shard and you'll be
ready to go to the next world!

==================
World 3: Aqua Star
==================

World 3, Level 1
----------------

From the start of this new level, head right. When you reach the small holes in
the ground, watch out because there are fish enemies that jump out of those
holes. After you pass them, keep going all the way right across the bridge (you
can also swim the in the water and collect a bunch of stars and a food item to
recover some health with) and go into the cave to reach the next area. Go right
to the green ball floating in mid-air and jump into it. Let it shoot you up to
another higher ledge, then when you get there, jump into the next green ball.
When you reach the next ledge, instead of jumping into the next green ball, fly
in the air up and claim the crystal piece floating there. Get back down to that
ledge and continue jumping into the green balls and being shot higher and
higher in the cavern. Jump up a few platforms and defeat the flying enemies
above them, then go right into the next room. In this room, go right and inhale
and swallow the penguin to take its Ice ability, then continue across the
collapsing bridges. Be VERY careful when you reach those holes in the wall that
have eyes peeking out of them. If you walk in front of it, a huge frog will
suddenly pop out and take away some health. Keep going right to the end, but
before you go into the next room, combine your Ice ability with the Poppy
Brother to get the Ice and Bomb combo. Now, go into the next room. Here, go
right and jump through the many waterfalls you come across while defeating any
enemies that get in your way. Make your way through this watery room, then go
right to the dry part again and enter the following area. You're going to fight
a mini-boss here with the Needle ability. Since this guy stays in one place, it
won't be hard at all to beat it, your only problem is avoiding getting poked by
one of the enemies below you! Defeat it using your Ice and Bomb combo. When you
beat it, drop through the floor and take the crystal piece that was once hidden
inside the block there, then leave this room. When you get outside, you'll see
Adeleine the painter in the background painting a picture. Stick around because
he's painting a Maxim Tomato, when he finishes it he'll send it over to you.
Now that you have full health again, go right past the various enemies, then
when you reach the section with the multiple levels of platforms, drop down
through them all the way to the bottom one. Go right on the bridge section and
you should come across a section in the bridge that has blue and black
checkered squares. Stand there and use your ability combo. After you explode,
drop into the hole and let the green ball shoot you up to the crystal piece.
After you land on a platform high above the bridge, go right and survive all
the way to the end. Play the Goal Game, and then you're done here!

World 3, Level 2
----------------

From where you start, head all the way right and defeat the enemies you pass
along the way. When you cross the wooden bridge, inhale and swallow the stone
enemy to obtain the Stone ability. Keep going right through the shallow water
into the next area. Run to the right across the stone bridge, you MUST run
because it collapses quickly behind you! When you reach the other side,
continue right and jump up to the higher ledge. There, turn your Stone ability
into a star (in case you forgot, press L, R, or any C button) and throw it at
the fire enemy to combine the abilities. Now, take the new ability combo, which
is Burning and Stone, then go right into the next area. You're going to fight
yet another mini-boss in this room. Jump through the middle platforms with the
smaller crab enemies walking around on them, then stand in the grass patch on
the side of the top row. Now, use your ability combo to attack the larger crab
mini-boss until it's defeated. After that, use your attack on the red and brown
checkered wall above you to break it, then fly up and take the crystal piece.
Drop through the platforms and be careful of the smaller crabs, and fly up the
side of the middle structure to take the food at the top if you need health.
Otherwise, go right outside to the next area. Go right and wade through the
shallow water and you'll meet up with Waddle Dee, who is in a makeshift boat.
Hop in and get ready for a ride down the river. Don't worry about any enemies
in the way because you'll kill them if you run into them. Jump in the air and
collect the stars and food along the way, and if you see an exclamation point
appear, that means to jump over an obstacle. When you reach the end where
you're going to fall, jump and grab some more stars and the crystal piece.
Here's a quick tip: in order to stay in the air longer when you jump, hold down
the A button. Keep going down the river and jump over the obstacles along the
way. When you reach the very end, you'll drop down a huge waterfall and land by
yourself at the bottom. When you land, go right down the river some more. Be
sure to take the Lollipop in the air to become invincible for a little while.
Use that time to run down the river and not worry about any enemies. Keep your
eyes open though and count how many waterfalls you drop down along the way.
When you drop down the fifth one, turn left and take the crystal piece right in
front of it. Now, continue right down the river path to the end, and then walk
right to the next area. Here, go right and back into the water, but this time,
the current is pushing you back. It would be easier if you tried flying up the
river and landed on the dry platforms. Defeat the enemies along the way and
watch out for the spiked logs if you're walking in the river. Keep going up the
path to the waterfall, then jump up the platforms and continue onto the final
part of the river. Fly over the three spiked logs there and go right to play
the Goal Game and you'll be done here.

World 3, Level 3
----------------

From where you begin this level on the long sandy beach, head right and defeat
the enemies along the way. Watch out when you reach the part where there are
two small platforms and a star fragment in the air between them because there
is a creature that'll come out of the sand to attack. Keep going right after
you pass those parts, and continue to the next area. Go right into the water
and watch out for the cannons in the background shooting at you. After you pass
them, continue right and swim through the watery area while trying to avoid the
crab enemies below. When you reach the dry beach at the other side, inhale the
green fish quickly before it explodes and take its Bomb ability. Then, go back
left a little bit in this section of the level and find that green enemy that
throws the spiked piece on its head at you. Combine your Bomb ability with it
to get the Bomb and Cutter combo. Now, get back to the right side of the area
and continue right into the next section. Here, go right past the Gordo (spiked
black enemy) and walk across the wooden bridge. Watch out because when you walk
on a couple of the planks, they rise out of the water and raise you to a higher
level. Walk right past the bridge and take the piece of cake there, then fly up
to the top of the structure you were under. Drop into the hole at the top to
get inside. Inside, take the Maxim Tomato, then use your ability combination to
break the checkered wall. Take the crystal piece there, then break the block in
the middle of the room and stand where it was. A platform will come out of the
ground and bring you back outside again. Drop down to the bottom area and start
going across the next wooden bridge. Slide under each Gordo because you'll move
quick enough to avoid getting pulled up by the trap planks below each Gordo.
After that, continue right past the stone enemy up to the teeter-totter where
King Dedede is waiting. Move closer and you'll automatically jump onto the low
end. Dedede will hit the high end with his hammer, launching you to another
area. When you land, go right while jumping from platform to platform. When you
reach the section with the vertical log platforms, don't stay on them too long
because they'll sink into the water. Keep moving to the right and you'll reach
a wall with a few platforms on the side of it. Jump up those platforms to the
higher ledge and continue to the right. Drop into the hole there to reach the
next room below. You'll be fighting a mini-boss, which is a larger version of
that enemy you took the Cutter ability from earlier in the level. Just throw
your spiked mines at it while jumping over what it throws at you until it's
defeated. Take the crystal piece that appears and go left and drop down the
hole into another room. After you take a REALLY long plunge down a long
corridor, then fall into the water below, you'll see a brown and green
checkered wall to the left underwater. You can't do anything about it now, but
remember this area and come back later with the Stone and Cutter ability
combination to break it, then swim up through that hole and take the 1-Up on
the platform. Now, keep trying your ability until you become Rick the hamster.
Then, get as close to the left wall as possible and face the wall, then jump in
the air, hold Left, and keep pressing A at a steady pace. Rick will somehow
jump up the wall all the way to the top if you can do it correctly. You'll get
the crystal piece when you reach the top. Now, if you got the crystal or not,
get to the bottom and swim under the right wall and surface onto the ledge.
Watch out because it'll tilt and a spiked log will roll down towards you! Jump
over it and go up the platform and jump onto the small ledge to the side. Jump
up the small ledges, then jump onto the large wooden platform again and avoid
the spiked log. Keep jumping up the platforms and avoiding the spiked logs
until you reach the very top. At that point, go right and drop down the other
shaft. Collect some stars along the way. At the bottom, go right outside and
play the Goal Game, then you've beaten the level!

World 3, Level 4
----------------

From the beginning of this completely submerged area, swim downward all the way
to the bottom. Watch out for the greenish colored bombs that come out of the
holes in the wall, as well as the floating enemies that fan out their heads to
attack. When you finally get to the bottom, go right into the next room. In
this underwater area, swim right and watch out for the fish that are swimming
around. Be careful because there are boulders that'll start falling when you
pass the area with the fish. Try your best to avoid them, then continue right
to an area where those greenish bombs come out of the sand. Avoid the bombs and
keep going right past some more underwater enemies, then go into the next room.
As soon as you enter this new area, start swimming upward and stay as close to
the left as possible. Swim up past the jellyfish enemies clinging to the walls
and the spiked Gordos. Keep going up and take some star fragments along the
way, then continue swimming upward and to the left until you reach the very top
(you'll know you're at the top when you reach the green fish that explode when
you come near). Swim up to the ceiling and keep holding left to prevent
yourself from being pushed away quickly by the strong current. Swim into the
alcove in the ceiling and take the crystal piece there. Next, head right
through the hole into the next room. There are strong currents pushing you
through this room, so you need to really control your movements so you don't
crash into enemies along the way down. Make your way past the jellyfish that
stick to the walls, the crabs, and the exploding fish. After you go down past
the fish, go right and cling onto the pole you pass. Climb down it to the very
bottom, where you'll automatically get off and stand on the ground. Walk to the
right and get right under the crystal piece, then jump up and quickly get it
before the current pushes you away. Now, swim back up and continue up and right
through the area while trying to avoid collisions with enemies along the way.
After the long tunnel reaches the end, swim into the next room, where you'll be
fighting a mini-boss. There is a strong current pushing you around this room,
which is also where the mini-boss is floating around, so watch out! Attack it
by inhaling the jellyfish on the walls and spit them at it. Keep doing that
while keeping yourself alive until it's defeated. After you beat it, get to the
right wall and swim through to the next area. Here, you must really be careful
because there's not only a strong current pushing you, but there are huge rocks
being pushed toward you as well! Stay towards the bottom of the path to avoid
getting hit by the bigger rocks, then take the meat in the small alcove.
Continue right through the current and collect some star fragments along the
way. Keep swimming into the alcoves in the floor and the ceiling because the
current doesn't reach there and they usually have food there to recover your
health with. Stay towards the bottom area and swim past the Gordos. Duck into
an alcove you'll pass when you swim through the Gordo area to get the last
crystal piece for this level. Keep going right and evade the boulders flying
towards you and you'll reach an alcove with the exit above you at the end. Swim
up and out to play the Goal Game and exit this really challenging level!

World 3 Boss Level
------------------

For this world, you'll be fighting Acro the whale. You'll remember him from
Kirby's Dream Land 3 if you played that game. Read the Bosses section for
information on how to defeat it. After you beat it, take the crystal shard and
you'll be brought to World 4!

=================
World 4: Neo Star
=================

World 4, Level 1
----------------

From the beginning of this new level, go right and defeat any enemies you come
across. After you pass the first spike pit, be very cautious when you see star
fragments hovering over patches of ground that are in a circular pattern. If
you step on them, you'll reveal a trap, which may cost you some health. The
best way to avoid them is by simply flying as much as you can over the area.
Continue going right through the small watery section, then when you reach the
land area again, watch out for those traps! There is one trap I must tell you
to reveal, though. From where you exit the watery part, go right and reveal the
trap underneath the first hanging ladybug enemy you come across. Take the
crystal piece there, and then keep going right through the area and into the
following section of the level. This section is a vertical area, where you
should be heading upward. Before you go up, drop down and take the crystal
piece you wouldn't know about unless you did some exploring by yourself. Now,
climb the vines on the walls and head upward. When you reach the end for one
side of the vine, jump onto the middle platform, which usually has a star
fragment on it, then jump to the vine on the other side. Keep going up and
alternating sides until you reach the top by the hole in the right wall. Avoid
the arrows being shot at you and go right into the next room. Here, go right
and jump from vine to vine over the large pit. Grab onto the moving vines as
well and collect a few star fragments during the ride. When you get to the
middle platform, wait for the moving vine to come, then jump onto it. Jump from
vine to vine while collecting more star fragments. When you finally reach the
other side, go right into the next area. Here, you'll fight a mini-boss that
shoots fire at you. To defeat it, inhale one of the small archer enemies
standing on the ledges above you and spit them back at the mini-boss. Do that 5
or 6 more times to defeat it. After you beat it, go right through the now open
doorway into the next room. In this area, go right and jump from log platform
to log platform. Then you'll reach some that move, so jump on the first one you
reach. Ride it, then jump to the next one. Keep doing that and you'll reach
platforms that don't move, but collapse when you set foot on them. Above the
first platform that collapses, take the crystal piece hiding there, then
continue right. If you stand on one of the thinner platforms, it'll fall very
quickly. If you're standing on one of the log platforms that don't move, it
won't fall. Go to the right until you reach the next area. Here, go right and
take the Lollipop to become invincible. Go to the right and just run through
any enemies or blocks in your way. Jump over any pits in your way and continue
to the right to the end. Then, just walk right into the next area. There, just
play the Goal Game and you're done here.

World 4, Level 2
----------------

As soon as you enter this level, you'll start freefalling. Quickly fly to the
left side of the area and continue falling. Be sure to grab the crystal piece
that's there as you fall. After you get it, just continue falling right into
the next area. There, you'll still be falling at a pretty quick pace. You'll
then fall into a mine cart with Waddle Dee standing behind it. He'll start
pushing the cart, then jump into the cart. You're ready for a great mine cart
ride through the caverns now! Just plow through the enemies since they won't
hurt you, and jump when the small exclamation point appears on your screen.
When you get to the second jump, tap A to make a small jump, then the
exclamation point will appear again, signalizing you to jump again. This time,
hold A so you can get onto the higher track. Follow it and jump lightly when it
asks you to so you can take the crystal piece and keep going. At the end of the
track, you will fall into a pit leading down further into another area. When
you land, go right and watch out when trying to pass the block with the eye on
it. It'll come crashing down on you if you try to go under it, so go forward,
then quickly back to make it drop, then go past as it moves back up. Keep going
right and be careful when walking past the holes in the wall because a frog
will come out and take away some health. Then, head right and do like you did
before to pass the eyeball block. Fly up the path where you see the star
fragments to get the piece of meat to recover a lost health bar. Drop to the
ground and get past the second block, then make your way past the holes in the
wall with the pairs of eyes peeking out at you. Watch out for the cannon
that'll shoot at you, and take the 1-Up above it. Then, continue heading right
and get past the eyeball block as well as a couple of Gordos surrounding it. If
you pass that all in one piece, go right and defeat some more enemies and
continue into the next room. Go right and jump from platform to platform, but
watch out for the cannonballs and blue blobs that fall from the ceiling. Keep
going right past those two obstacles into the next area. Here, go right and be
careful because there are many enemies about here. When you're wading through
the water area, stay away from the purplish sections because they'll pull you
under, but you don't drown or lose a life though. Keep going right past some
more whirlpools in the water and take the food and star fragments in most of
them. After you drop down to the lower ledge, fly into the hole in the upper
part of the left wall to get a 1-Up. Also, you'll see a wall section with brown
and black circles in it. You need the Stone and Bomb ability combination in
order to break that wall. You can't get either of those abilities in this level
(find the Stone ability in the first level of this world, and the Bomb ability
in the first level of the third world; sorry for the long trips you'll have to
make in order to get this combo). After you get those abilities, come back to
this spot and break the wall down and take the crystal piece there. After that,
go right and defeat some more enemies, then go into the next room. Here, you'll
be supposedly fighting a mini-boss because of the boss meter that appears in
place of your star meter, but instead, you're fighting those blue blobs from
earlier in the level! Simply inhale them to take bars off the meter. Keep
killing them as they appear until they're all gone, then leave the room and go
to the next area. In this room, go right and drop down to a lower ledge and
take the Maxim Tomato. Defeat the skull enemy there and wait for the moving
rock wall to give you space to jump through. Here, you're going to have to jump
and be quick when the blocks give you room or else you'll be crushed if you're
not quick enough. Make your way through this room and take the star fragments,
the food, and the 1-Up along the way. After you finally reach the end, just go
right outside to play the Goal Game and you're out of this level!

World 4, Level 3
----------------

From the beginning of this new level, head to the right a tiny bit and inhale
the spike-backed enemy and take its Needle ability. Then, continue right and
jump up to the higher platforms as you go right until you reach a section where
the floor is orange. Use your ability there to break through the floor and take
the crystal piece. Get back up and continue right to the next area. Here, go
right as usual and jump over the many pits in this area. Defeat any enemies you
come across here since they'll all be getting in your way. When you reach the
part with the thin ledges over the pit, simply fly over it while trying your
best to avoid the enemies flying by, as well as not running out of breath while
flying. After that, continue through to the next section of this level. When
you enter this area, go right and you'll see Adeleine has painted a picture on
her canvas. The picture is random each time you enter the level. Remember that
picture and continue to the next room. There is a huge panel made of star
blocks with one missing in the middle. The objective is to make the star blocks
resemble the picture Adeleine drew. If you can make the picture in the blocks,
the crystal piece appears. Below are the solutions to the three different
drawings you might have to make:

    Top Hat Umbrella Pizza

   _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
  |_|_|_|_|_| _|_|_ _|_|_|_|_
  |_|_|_|_|_| _|_|_|_|_ _|_|_|_|_|_|_
  |_|_|_|_|_| _|_|_|_|_|_|_ |_|_|_|_|_|_|_|
  |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|_|_|
  |_|_|_|_|_| |_| |_|_|_|_|
 _|_|_|_|_|_|_ |_| |_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|_|_|_| |_| |_|_|

After you finish with this puzzle and get a crystal piece, go right into the
next area. Here, head right and defeat the enemies as you jump from platform to
platform. You'll find some smaller platforms will fall if you stand on them, so
be quick when jumping around. Keep going right, and after you pass the bridge
of collapsing ledges, you'll have to jump up a few platforms. Be sure to take
the food that's stuffed in each hole in the wall. When you get to the top, go
right, but don't jump across the pit yet. Instead, drop down where the star
fragment is and you'll find the crystal piece. As soon as you grab it, start
flying up to the platforms above you. When you get up there, go right across
yet some more platforms that fall. Then, keep going through the area, past the
floor that spells out the name Kirby, all the way to the end. Play the Goal
Game and you're done here!

World 4, Level 4
----------------

(Please note that before you enter this level, make sure you have the double
Ice ability combo. You can get it by entering the third level of this world and
inhaling the purplish, flying enemy in the first area of that level, then move
left a bit, then return and defeat the enemy again to get the combo.)

From where you start this fiery level, go right. Watch out above because there
will be rocks of all sizes falling on you! Continue right and jump over the
lava pit, then keep going to the next room. In this room, go right and fly over
the lava pits you come across (there are many of them here). There are also
whole pieces of the ground that move across the lava if you stand on them, but
you go much quicker by running and flying, so stick with running and flying
over everything right into the following area. When you enter this next room,
King Dedede will come running out from behind you and make you jump on his
back. Now, head to the right and jump over the lava pit, then go up the small
incline and break the wall with Dedede's hammer. Continue right over another
lava pit and break the next wall you reach. Jump across each of the really
small ledges over a lava pit to the other side, where you'll break another
wall. Defeat the enemy there waiting for you, then break another wall and take
the food floating there. Continue right, break through the walls and defeat
another fire enemy, and jump over the lava pit. This time, break both sections
of the wall on the other side of the pit to reveal a crystal piece. Take it,
and then go right over a few small platforms to the larger area at the other
side. Defeat another enemy sitting there and go right. King Dedede will take
you and throw you into the next room. Walk right across the long bridge over
the lava, making sure to defeat any enemies in your way. Head right and jump
over some pits and walk a bit more. Keep jumping around and making your way to
the right until you reach the area with the many flying enemies waiting in the
background to attack. Walk across that bridge cautiously because those enemies
will fly in to attack as you walk by. Avoid them and go right, then jump over
yet some more lava areas. When you get to the higher ledge, go right and jump
over the sections where lava pours out of the wall. Jump over some more pits
and go right into the next area finally. Here, you'll see a brown and red mound
in the middle of the room. Use your double Ice ability combo and roll into the
mound to destroy it, revealing a crystal piece. Fly in the air and descend on
it, then as soon as you collect it, fly onto the land because the lava will
hurt if you land on it. After that, go right into the next room. Go right a
little bit and defeat any enemies in your way. You'll hear a rumbling sound and
a huge wall of lava will start to chase you to the right. Get through this area
as quickly as you can while defeating anything in your way and jumping over any
lava pits. Just keep going right all the way into the next room. As soon as you
enter this room, start flying upward and to the left as fast as you can. Land
on a platform on the way up if Kirby gets tired. Stay flying on the left side
until you reach the crystal piece. Take it, and then make your way up through
the center part of this room. Jump up the small platforms along the way, then
when you reach the star blocks that are blocking your path upward, destroy them
and continue moving up. Keep going upward right out of the volcano. Play the
Goal Game and you'll be done with this level!

World 4 Boss Level
------------------

In this boss level, you'll be fighting a creature named Magman. For information
on how to defeat it, read the Bosses section of this guide. After you beat it,
take the crystal shard and you'll be brought to World 5!

====================
World 5: Shiver Star
====================

World 5, Level 1
----------------

From the start of this snow-covered level, head right until you see fire enemy
walking around. Inhale it and take its Burning ability, then continue right a
little bit and you'll see another one. Take out your ability and combine it
with that second enemy to get a double Burning ability combo! Now, just
continue right all the way through this wintry area to the next section of this
level. Here, go right and climb up the ladders next to each wall all the way to
the top. Be sure to take the star fragments and food along the way up. Once at
the top, head right into the next area. In this area, just walk to the right
until you automatically stop and see Waddle Dee come from behind, carrying a
sled. You'll hop in and start riding down the snowy mountain. Just follow the
path all the way down while collecting all the star fragments along the way,
but jump when the exclamation points appear or else you'll either fall and lose
a life, or you'll crash and lose some health. Continue down the path and keep
jumping when it tells you to, and you should come across a crystal piece atop
one of the hills along your path. When you reach the end of the ride, you'll
crash into a snow hill and Kirby will roll into the cave to fight a mini-boss.
Before you attack it, fly to the top of the room and use your Burning combo to
break the ice piece hanging from the ceiling. Now, to quickly dispose of this
mini-boss, keep ramming it by using your double Burning combo until it's
defeated, then take the crystal piece that appears above you. Leave the room,
then in the next area, go right onto the frozen lake. Jump into the cracks and
swim around to get some star fragments or food if you want, otherwise keep
going right and up over the high platforms. When you reach the third hole in
the frozen lake, jump in and swim into the small alcove down and to the right.
Go through it to the other side, then swim right and take the crystal piece
sitting next to the wall in the corner. Take it, then swim back left through
the hole in the wall, then up through the crack in the ice into the air again.
Then, head right into the next area. Here, go right through this whole icy area
and up the hills. Watch out because there are enemies at the top of each hill
that'll push a large boulder down it to crush you if you don't get out of the
way. Keep going right and be careful when jumping over pits because there will
be an enemy that'll jump out and snap at you if you're not careful. It's easier
to just fly above those gaps to avoid being attacked. After that, go right into
the last area where you'll play the Goal Game, then you're out of this level!

World 5, Level 2
----------------

From the start, go right up the hill and drop into the hole at the top. You'll
land inside a green ball that'll shoot you high into the clouds. When you land,
go right and jump over the gaps in the clouds you come across. Keep going right
while jumping from platform to platform and defeating the enemies you pass by.
After you pass the part where the platforms move up and down, move right across
the first platform after them, and drop down the hole after it. Fly to the
right and take the crystal piece, then land on the platform to the right of it.
Walk right and take a few star fragments, then fly back up onto the platforms.
Now, you'll be near an area where the wind blows upward, so try not to jump as
high because you might fly into an enemy above you. Drop down into the current
and take the food that's floating around, then fly up to the platforms and
continue right into the next area. Go right and jump into the green ball that
you see floating about halfway through this room. You'll be shot up into
another ball, which will shoot you into one that's in the center of the area.
This time, you can control what direction you want to be shot in. Shoot
yourself in the upper-left direction to get a crystal piece, then when you get
shot back to the central ball, shoot yourself in the other directions. After
you take the star fragments and food from the other directions, shoot yourself
upward into another ball, which will shoot you even higher into the clouds.
When you land there, head right and defeat the enemies you come across. When
you jump over the platforms where the spike-headed enemies are sitting, inhale
one of them and take their Needle ability. Then, jump from platform to platform
all the way to the end, where you'll see a couple of small platforms and a hole
in the clouds. Jump up the platforms and into the hole to reach the next area.
Go right and watch out for the enemies that'll come out of the clouds in front
of you. Defeat the flying enemies that come near you, and keep going right and
you'll see areas where wind is blowing upward. Take my advice and fly high
above those areas because there are enemies that'll come out to attack if
you're too close to the ground area. Go right and combine your Needle ability
with the enemy with the Spark ability to gain that combo. Continue right and
watch out because those enemies that snap at you will come down from above you
as well! Avoid them as best as you can and make your way through this area to
the end. There, go right into the next room. Here, you'll fight a mini-boss.
Defeat it by using your ability combination to attach when it flies across the
room. Keep doing that until you defeat it, then use the Spark and Needle
ability combination to break the wall in the middle if you didn't already and
take the crystal piece. After that, go right outside, play the Goal Game and
you're out of this level!

World 5, Level 3
----------------

From the beginning of this snow-covered level, head right to the building and
go inside it. Inside, ride the conveyor belts to the upper parts of this room.
Defeat the enemies you come across and watch out for the enemy that rolls a
boulder down one of the belts. Jump over it, then before you ride the last
conveyor belt up and right, fly up to the ledge above you to find a crystal
piece. Take it, then drop back down to the belt and ride it up and right while
avoiding the Gordos and the boulder-rolling enemy. At the top, walk into the
elevator and ride it up to the next floor. Get off there and go right through
this room. Defeat the enemies here as you make your way through, then enter the
elevator at the right side and ride it up to the floor above. In this area, go
left and watch out for the frogs that'll pop out of the holes in the walls
behind items. Make them come out, but step back as they appear, then as they go
inside, take the items. Continue left to the elevator, and ride it up to
another floor. Here, you can either take the upper path or the lower path. Take
the lower path since you can just run to the right and you'll only encounter
one enemy along the way. Ride the elevator at the other side up to the next
floor and get off. On this floor, you'll have to be careful of those giant
blocks with the eyeballs on them. Walk right next to the platform they're above
and jump up to make them come crashing down. As they move up, jump to the left.
Avoid the Gordos and the eyeball blocks, and get on the elevator at the end.
Here, watch out for the cannons that will shoot at you from the moment you set
foot on this floor. Simply jump over their shots and defeat the enemies as you
move to the right. Go through the door at the end to enter the next room. In
this room, you'll be fighting a mini-boss, which is a larger version of those
small ladybug enemies that hang from the ceiling. When it comes down from the
ceiling, inhale one of the smaller enemies and spit it at the ladybug. Repeat
that strategy until you defeat this mini-boss. Grab the crystal piece that
appears in the middle of the room, and go right out the door. In this new room,
you'll see Adeleine behind a glass panel drawing three pictures on it, which
are all outlines of different types of fruit. Take a look at the pictures in
order, then go into the next room. Here, push the switches down in the order
each of the pictures in the previous room are colored (for example, if the
outline of a lemon was the first drawing Adeleine made, you press the yellow
switch first). Press the three correct switches to make a crystal piece appear.
Jump up and take it, then go right into the next room. In this room, you'll see
a few archers standing on platforms and a few plants with teeth in the
background. Walk past those plants and they'll try to snap at you. If you run
past without getting hit by the arrows from above, you should pass the plants
before they reach you. Go right into the next part of the room and be careful
because the bookcases will fall as you come near them. Walk near them to make
them fall, then just jump or fly over them. Go right through this area and
enter the door at the end to reach the next part of this long room. Here, jump
up the two ledges to the top of the water tank. Jump into the tank and swim
underwater to the other side. Watch out for the hole with eyes peeking out of
it because a frog will jump out to eat you if you go directly in front of it.
When you reach the other side, get out of the water and drop down the other
side of the tank and go right into the fourth section of this room. Here, go
right and defeat all the enemies that you see. Take the food items along the
way hidden inside of the bolts. After all that, go right into the next section
and continue going right past the yellow poles. If you grab onto one, get off
it quickly because an electrical enemy will form nearby and try to attack you.
Fly near the top of the room and take the food if you need it. If not, keep
going right on the ground through the door into a different room. In this new
room, run to the right while avoiding the cannons placed in the center of the
room that shoot cannonballs at you at a quicker pace than usual. Hide behind
the colored panels to protect yourself from getting hit, then when you feel
safe, run to the right and break through any star blocks in your way. Keep
going right through this area to the elevator. Go inside and you'll play the
Goal Game and end the level!

World 5, Level 4
----------------

(Note: Make sure that before you enter this level that you have the Needle
ability. You can quickly obtain the Needle ability near the beginning of the
first level of this world.)

From the beginning of this level, go right to the hole surrounded by walls.
Jump into the hole and you'll automatically climb down into the next area. Once
inside, climb down the ladder all the way to the very bottom of the room, then
get off and go right. Defeat the enemies that you see, then when you can't go
right anymore, drop down through the blue platforms while avoiding the bombs
that come out of the small holes in the walls and move left and right. When you
reach the bottom, go left to the wall and drop through some more platforms. Go
through all the platforms to the bottom conveyor belt and go right a tiny bit.
Press L to pull out your current ability and press B to throw it at the axe
that's running around to combine the two abilities. Inhale the new ability star
to get the Stone and Needle combination. Now, get back up to the second to top
blue platform. Go right into the alcove and use your ability to send a drill
into the top orange and brown block to the right. Then, get out and go down a
level and do the some thing. Do that until you reach the bottom blue platform,
then go right and climb up the ladder to reach the crystal piece. Take it, then
go back down and left, then drop through the platform and go right into the
next area. When you walk into this room, King Dedede will come running behind
you and make you hop on his back. Get on and continue right to the first
boundary. Break it with Dedede's hammer, then watch out for the giant
hammer-wielding enemy in the background. You can tell when it's about to pound
the area in front of it with its huge hammer because it shakes a bit faster. As
soon as it pulls up its hammer again, go right and break through the other
boundary and continue right. Break another couple boundaries and watch out for
that giant hammer enemy again. Go all the way right through this area breaking
through the boundaries, defeating the enemies, and being careful not to be
crushed by the giant hammer! When you finally reach the end of this, jump off
the conveyor belt and Dedede will send you into the next room. Go right through
this new room and defeat any enemies along the way with your ability combo. Run
on the conveyor belts while making your way through this room and defeating the
enemies along the way. Keep going right and you'll come across those blocks
with the eyeballs on them again. Be cautious and intentionally make them drop,
then run past as they retract. Keep going right and you'll meet an enemy that
throws cutters at you. Ditch your current combo by pressing L twice, then
inhale this enemy and take its Cutter ability. Continue right and you'll see
those electrical enemies that come down from the ceiling to attack. Combine
your ability with it to get the Spark and Cutter ability combination. Now,
follow the path until you reach the end, where you can go into the next room.
There, drop down to fight a mini-boss. Defeat it using your light-saber since
that's what you attack with in your ability combo. Keep attacking the flying
fiery bird until it's defeated, then press L once and then down twice to put
away your saber and keep the abilities. Now, fly up to the upper ledge at the
top of the room. Use your saber to cut open the cage hanging from the ceiling,
then take the crystal piece and go right to the next room. Here, go right and
drop down to the lower ledge and stay there for a moment. You'll notice that
the entire ceiling in the next few areas come down to the ground. There are a
couple of alcoves that you can stand in if you're not quick enough to run
before the ceiling comes down on you. This shouldn't be a problem though since
the ceiling moves pretty slowly. When it rises again, go right and wait in the
section where the cannons in the background will shoot at you. Avoid the shots
until the ceiling to the right moves up, then quickly get past. If you're not
in time, drop into an alcove in the floor to stay safe. Keep going through this
area full of moving ceilings until you finally reach the end. Then, just go
right into the following room. In this room, go right and try to avoid the
enemies along the way. When you reach the star fragments that are in a column,
collect them and fly up to the next floor. Move left and be quick because the
right wall will start moving, and if you don't make it quick enough, you'll
lose health or be crushed. Make your way up through this room while avoiding
the enemies and moving walls. As you're running away from the fourth wall (you
should be heading to the right at this point), go right past the area where
you're supposed to fly up to the next floor and take the crystal piece there.
Now, be quick and get up to the area above before the wall crushes you. You may
have to sacrifice a life to collect this piece. As soon as you get to the upper
platform, you MUST BE QUICK! Quickly get over the wall blocking your path, then
run to the left and fly up through the metal grate like before or else you WILL
be crushed! After you get past that, go right and watch out for the attacks
from the flying enemies above you. Go through the door at the end and play the
Goal Game, then you're out of this very difficult level!

World 5 Boss Level
------------------

In this world, you'll be fighting a huge robot named HR-H as the boss for this
world. As always, check out the Bosses section for information on how to defeat
it. After that, take the crystal shard and you'll be out of World 5 and on to
World 6!

====================
World 6: Ripple Star
====================

World 6, Level 1
----------------

From the start of this level, head right through the area and defeat any
enemies you come across. Continue right until you reach an enemy with a pointed
sword and shield. Inhale and swallow it to take the Needle ability. Keep going
right past the various enemies and take the crystal piece in the air when you
reach it. After you get the crystal piece, continue right through the shallow
water area, and then take the Maxim Tomato when you get back onto the land at
the other side and go into the next room. In this room, you'll be going against
a mini-boss, which is a large metal blade. It'll come out of the ground on the
right side of the room and spin for a moment, then go back underground and go
to the left side of the room. Now that you know its pattern, avoid falling on
it and use your ability to attack until it's defeated. Jump up and grab the
second crystal piece, then go right through the now open door into the next
area. Go right through this area and defeat the enemies along the way. Pass by
the cannons sitting on the star blocks and take the food in the alcoves
underneath them. Then, go right some more and you'll come across a
bomb-throwing enemy (Poppy Bro), so combine your current Needle ability with it
(you should know by now how to do that) to obtain the Needle and Bomb combo.
After that, go right into the water section and you'll see a black and orange
platform underneath a column of star fragments. Throw dynamite at it using your
ability, then press Down to avoid the blast and break that block. Go into the
small alcove there and take the last crystal piece for this level! Go right out
of the water and take the Maxim Tomato there if you need it, otherwise defeat
the bomb enemy to the right and continue to the Goal Game and end the level!

World 6, Level 2
----------------

(Note: Make sure that you enter this level with the Spark ability. You can
obtain it at the beginning of the first level of this world.)

From the beginning of this rather gloomy level, head right until you reach
Waddle Dee. He'll be standing on a wall, pointing downward into a hole. Jump
into the hole to reach the area underground. Drop down into the pool below and
swim down and to the left and take the meat in the small alcove. Use your Spark
ability on the yellow block on the ground to break it, then take the crystal
piece that you reveal. Then, go through the right doorway into the next area.
Here, swim down and to the right while watching out for any enemies you meet
along the way. When the area curves upward, swim upward with it and inhale the
reddish colored enemy that shoots smaller versions of it ahead to attack you.
Take the Cutter ability from it, and then surface at the top. Go left and take
the food if you need it, then go right and defeat the enemies you come across.
Keep going until you automatically walk to the right and the room starts
shaking. A giant boulder will block your path, and then King Dedede will appear
and destroy the boulder for you with his hammer. After he does that, go right
into the next room. Go right and defeat a couple of enemies and you'll reach a
hole in the ground. Before you drop into it, go right a little more and take
the food there. Then, come back and jump into the hole to reach the section
below. Go left and cut through the star blocks to the next hole, then drop to
the following level. Go left to the Scarfy (floating enemy) and fly up through
the ceiling above it and take the Maxim Tomato in a hidden room. Now, get back
down and head right into another hole. On the next floor, just avoid the
enemies and drop into the hole to swim underwater. Swim down to the ring of
star fragments, then from there, swim to the left. Take the crystal piece that
you reach at the far left, then swim around the room and collect the food
floating around. Then, get up towards the surface and swim to the right. Swim
up to surface in the second hole, and then go right into the next room. Go
right and you'll meet Adeleine, who is painting a picture of a Lollipop for
you. Take the Lollipop when she finishes it to become invincible. Now, go down
and right, cutting right through the blocks along the way. When you get to the
bottom level of this room, you'll see another crystal piece being blocked by a
wall with green diamonds on it. Use your Cutter ability to break that wall and
take the crystal. Then, continue down and right past the enemy and into the
next room. There, jump onto the platform in the center of the room and ride it
up to the Goal Game and the end of the level!

World 6, Level 3
----------------

From the beginning of this level, fly around in the first room and collect all
the star fragments floating around. Then, continue right into the next room. In
this room, defeat the enemies that appear on the screen until you empty the red
health meter. As you fight them, inhale and swallow the fire-breathing dragon
that appears near the beginning of the fight and take its Burning ability.
Continue fighting and you'll see an enemy with a pointed sword and shield.
Combine your ability with it to obtain the Burning and Needle combo. Then,
defeat the other enemies and take the crystal piece that appears as your reward
and go right into the following room. Here, go right up the steps and defeat
the enemies along the way. Collect the star fragments by destroying the star
blocks, and then go into the next room. Here, defeat all the enemies that
appear until you empty the health meter at the bottom of the screen. After
that, go right into the next room and head right up some more steps. Destroy
the star blocks and take the star fragments inside, and defeat the enemies as
well. Continue into the next room where you'll fight some more enemies (what a
surprise)! Defeat them all, but before you continue on to the next room, use
your ability combo and shoot an arrow directly in the middle of the starburst
design on the floor to burn a hole into it. Hop in and take the well-hidden
crystal piece, then go right into the next room. Go up the steps in the
following room and defeat the enemies and take the star fragments there. After
you get to the room at the top of the steps, you'll have to defeat even more
enemies. This time, the battle won't go as quickly as the previous ones since
most of the enemies in this room fly around towards the ceiling. Defeat them,
then continue right into the room where you go up the steps. Here, avoid the
Gordos and destroy the star blocks. Take the star fragments and the 1-Up in the
blocks, then go right up the steps into the following room. Here, defeat some
more high-flying enemies until they're all defeated, then take the crystal
piece that appears and head into the following room. In this room, go right up
the steps while defeating the black enemies along the way. Go into the doorway
at the end to enter a room where you'll play the Goal Game and exit the level!

World 6 Boss Level
------------------

The final battle of this game is obviously against the Miracle Matter. This is
DEFINITELY going to be a long fight, so read the Bosses section for an in-depth
strategy on how to defeat it and avoid being attacked by surprise! After you
defeat it, take the crystal shard and you've beaten this boss! If you already
beat it, and you have all the crystal pieces throughout the game, you'll see a
different cinema scene, then warp to the Dark Star in the center of the
universe.

==================
World 7: Dark Star
==================

This isn't really an actual world like you're used to. Instead, this is just
one area where you make your way to the final boss! You can only access this
area if you've collected ALL the crystal pieces and shards throughout the game.
In this area, just head right across all the platforms and defeat the enemies
along the way. When you reach the end, drop through the hole that Waddle Dee is
standing next to in order to reach the next area. Here, take the 1-Up that
Adeleine makes you, and then continue right to the end. You'll stand on the
blue block, then King Dedede will pound the green block with his hammer,
sending you skyward to the final boss battle! Read the Bosses section for help
on defeating this boss. After you win, you'll restore peace to Ripple Star and
win the game with a 100% rating!

-= 6. Items -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

1-Up: You obviously gain an extra life when you collect this item.

Enemy Info Card: This mysterious card with a question mark on it is a very
interesting item. Each time you collect one, a random card with information on
an enemy from the game will be added to your collection (it should be in the
second option in your Options menu). There are 81 different cards total, and to
obtain them all, you must try and land on them in the Goal Games at the end of
each level. You'll also have to replay the levels a bunch of times to get a
bunch of chances to get these cards since there aren't 81 level in the game!

Food: There are different types of food scattered throughout the levels as
well. Each food item you take recovers one bar in your health meter. The four
types of food you can find are ice cream, cake, meat, and sandwich.

Lollipop: This special lollipop makes Kirby invincible to enemy attacks for a
limited period of time.

Maxim Tomato: This red tomato with the letter "M" on it recovers all your
health when you take it.

Star Fragment: There are many of these small stars scattered throughout each
level in the game. They aren't essential to you beating the game, but if you
collect a lot of them (30 to be exact) you gain an extra life. They'll
definitely help you get farther without getting a Game Over. There are four
different colors of Star Fragments: yellow, blue-green, red, and dark blue. You
only gain one point on your Star Meter if you collect a yellow fragment, 3 for
the blue-green one, 5 for the red one, and 10 for the larger, blue one.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
-= 7. Abilities -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

In Kirby 64, there are 7 different abilities: Bomb, Burning, Cutter, Ice,
Needle, Spark, and Stone. You can also combine two of them together to create
an amazing new ability! Here I'll list what each ability does by itself, as
well as their effects if being mixed together.

Bomb Combinations
-----------------

Bomb: Kirby has the ability to throw bombs with this power. Press and hold
B to take out a bomb and start pulling it back. Release the B button to throw
the bomb. The longer you hold down the B button, the farther and higher the
bomb will go when thrown.

Bomb + Bomb: Kirby shoots out missiles to attack with this ability
combination. Hold down B to make him shoot out up to 3 missiles. The longer you
hold B, the more missiles he shoots at once (limit of 3).

Bomb + Burning: Kirby makes some fireworks in the sky when using this
combination! You can press B three times in a row to jump in the air three
consecutive times, each one making a larger fireworks display. The fireworks
kill an enemy on contact, too!

Bomb + Cutter: Kirby throws a spiked bomb very quickly, and you can't even
see where it is! Any enemies that happen to be in the direction you threw it
will get caught by the bomb and will be destroyed!

Bomb + Ice: Kirby takes a bomb and covers it with a hat, then becomes a
snowman. It's pretty much a walking time bomb since after a few seconds, it'll
explode killing anything that's nearby!

Bomb + Needle: Kirby becomes a living time bomb in this ability combo!
Kirby stays suspended in air where he can move around for a couple seconds, and
then he'll explode. The needles all around Kirby will fly in their appropriate
directions, killing whatever they hit. If Kirby is attacked while in the time
bomb form, he'll explode instantly.

Bomb + Spark: Kirby turns into a walking bomb-shaped light bulb. Hold B to
use the ability. As you hold the button down, the ring of light around you gets
bigger and bigger until the bulb explodes. The explosion will defeat any nearby
enemies as well.

Bomb + Stone: Kirby throws out a pack of dynamite to attack. It'll explode
in a few seconds after it lands, so take cover and watch out because the rocks
that go flying when it explodes damage you as well unless you press Down while
nearby. That way, you'll be covered by a hard hat and won't be damaged.

Burning Combinations
--------------------

Burning: Kirby darts forward quickly as a fireball, killing anything in his
path.

Burning + Bomb: Kirby makes some fireworks in the sky when using this
combination! You can press B three times in a row to jump in the air three
consecutive times, each one making a larger fireworks display. The fireworks
kill an enemy on contact, too!

Burning + Burning: This is a MUCH better version of the Burning ability
used by itself. You have a much larger attack range above and below you, and
you go much farther when you use this, too!

Burning + Cutter: With this combination, Kirby wields a flaming sword! It
has a pretty good reach and kills anything it touches. Press Up on the D-Pad
while holding the sword, then press B again to throw the sword straight ahead
at an enemy. No need to worry since you have an infinite number of swords while
using this combination!

Burning + Ice: This is a very useless ability combination right from the
start! Kirby quickly turns into an ice cube and the flames engulf him and melt
the ice, and that's it. It's only effective if an enemy is about to walk into
you because you can kill it on contact that way.

Burning + Needle: Kirby becomes a bow and shoots flaming arrows at the
enemies! The longer you hold B, the higher and farther the arrow will fly.

Burning + Spark: When you use this combination, Kirby rubs something on his
head, which causes a fire to start engulfing him! Hold B while you run around
to keep the flames going for about 5 seconds total before they automatically go
out. You can run into enemies and instantly kill them while you are burning,
too!

Burning + Stone: This combination turns Kirby into an active volcano! He
shoots out balls of fire from the volcano on his head, which you can control
the direction they fly out by using the D-Pad.

Cutter Combinations
-------------------

Cutter: Kirby becomes a small sized boomerang and flies straight ahead,
destroying any enemies in its path. Only half of Kirby flies as the cutter, his
legs and back are left on the ground. You can still move his legs around and
jump to avoid any danger.

Cutter + Bomb: Kirby throws a spiked bomb very quickly, and you can't even
see where it is! Any enemies that happen to be in the direction you threw it
will get caught by the bomb and will be destroyed!

Cutter + Burning: With this combination, Kirby wields a flaming sword! It
has a pretty good reach and kills anything it touches. Press Up on the D-Pad
while holding the sword, then press B again to throw the sword straight ahead
at an enemy. No need to worry since you have an infinite number of swords while
using this combination!

Cutter + Cutter: This is obviously a much larger version of the Cutter
ability by itself. Kirby becomes a much larger, spiked cutter and flies much
farther and can reach places that the regular cutter can't.

Cutter + Ice: Kirby turns into an ice skater with this ability combo. To
attack while he's skating, jump in the air and he'll do a spin. Unfortunately,
you get injured if you skate into an enemy, but that's the only downfall to the
ability combination.

Cutter + Needle: This just has to be one of the coolest looking ability
combinations in the game! Kirby becomes a giant-sized bear trap, which
immediately kills anything it snaps upon or even touches. It has a pretty
decent range and the attack is done quickly, so enemies won't have time to walk
away quick enough to avoid being crushed!

Cutter + Spark: With this ability combination, Kirby wields a golden light
saber like Darth Maul's from Star Wars: Episode I. Press B to swing the saber
around to attack. Even if you're not attacking right now, if an enemy walks
into the blade when you're standing still, you'll kill it instantly!

Cutter + Stone: This ability combination is one of the more interesting
ones to try out. When used, Kirby turns into a stone block, which is sculpted
into the shape of one of your friends from Kirby's Dream Land 3. For example,
if you become Nago the catlike creature, you can jump in the air three
consecutive times before having to touch the ground. If you become Kine the
fish, you can't move at all, even if you try to jump, so keep that in mind when
using this ability. Once you're a stone sculpture, you can turn back into Kirby
by pressing B again.

Ice Combinations
----------------

Ice: Kirby turns blue and spins around, shooting out puffs of freezing air
all around. If an enemy touches that breath, it'll turn into an ice block,
which you can easily kick away and destroy.

Ice + Bomb: Kirby takes a bomb and covers it with a hat, then becomes a
snowman. It's pretty much a walking time bomb since after a few seconds, it'll
explode killing anything that's nearby!

Ice + Burning: This is a very useless ability combination right from the
start! Kirby quickly turns into an ice cube and the flames engulf him and melt
the ice, and that's it. It's only effective if an enemy is about to walk into
you because you can kill it on contact that way.

Ice + Cutter: Kirby turns into an ice skater with this ability combo. To
attack while he's skating, jump in the air and he'll do a spin. Unfortunately,
you get injured if you skate into an enemy, but that's the only downfall to the
ability combination.

Ice + Ice: With this combination, Kirby turns into a large snowball and
starts rolling in the direction you were facing before using the ability. It'll
pull in any enemies it hits along the way, then when you press B to stop using
the ability, all the enemies you ran over will be frozen and destroyed!

Ice + Needle: This combination turns Kirby into a giant snowflake! You can
just tap B to make a small snowflake, or you can hold B and turn into a
full-blown snowflake!

Ice + Spark: With this combination, Kirby becomes a refrigerator and throws
out food to recover your health with! The food only lasts for a couple seconds,
so be quick to pick them up!

Ice + Stone: Now THIS is a worthless ability combination! Kirby turns into
a puck-like shape with an ability to freeze whatever it hits. It's pointless to
use because you can hardly control it, plus there are much better combinations
to use to freeze enemies instead of this one!

Needle Combinations
-------------------

Needle: Kirby becomes a round porcupine when using this ability! Spikes
come out of all sides and move in and out for a few seconds.

Needle + Bomb: Kirby becomes a living time bomb in this ability combo!
Kirby stays suspended in air where he can move around for a couple seconds, and
then he'll explode. The needles all around Kirby will fly in their appropriate
directions, killing whatever they hit. If Kirby is attacked while in the time
bomb form, he'll explode instantly.

Needle + Burning: Kirby becomes a bow and shoots flaming arrows at the
enemies! The longer you hold B, the higher and farther the arrow will fly.

Needle + Cutter: This just has to be one of the coolest looking ability
combinations in the game! Kirby becomes a giant-sized bear trap, which
immediately kills anything it snaps upon or even touches. It has a pretty
decent range and the attack is done quickly, so enemies won't have time to walk
away quick enough to avoid being crushed!

Needle + Ice: This combination turns Kirby into a giant snowflake! You can
just tap B to make a small snowflake, or you can hold B and turn into a
full-blown snowflake!

Needle + Needle: This doubled up version of the Needle ability is great! A
whole arsenal of sharp and pointed objects come out of Kirby and have a better
range of attacking than if you had just the Needle ability combined with
nothing.

Needle + Spark: Here is another pretty cool combination of abilities. When
used, Kirby attracts electricity and causes lightning to strike him. The
lightning will fry anything it hits, plus anything within a small radius of
Kirby will be killed by the surrounding waves!

Needle + Stone: With this combination, Kirby holds a large drill that
carries him forward. Release B at any time and the drill will detach and
continue flying in the direction it was facing. The drill can also cut through
solid walls while it is flying away.

Spark Combinations
------------------

Spark: Kirby charges up electric power and causes a strong starburst of
electric power to surround him. Anything that hits you will be instantly
killed!

Spark + Bomb: Kirby turns into a walking bomb-shaped light bulb. Hold B to
use the ability. As you hold the button down, the ring of light around you gets
bigger and bigger until the bulb explodes. The explosion will defeat any nearby
enemies as well.

Spark + Burning: When you use this combination, Kirby rubs something on his
head, which causes a fire to start engulfing him! Hold B while you run around
to keep the flames going for about 5 seconds total before they automatically go
out. You can run into enemies and instantly kill them while you are burning,
too!

Spark + Cutter: With this ability combination, Kirby wields a golden light
saber like Darth Maul's from Star Wars: Episode I. Press B to swing the saber
around to attack. Even if you're not attacking right now, if an enemy walks
into the blade when you're standing still, you'll kill it instantly!

Spark + Ice: With this combination, Kirby becomes a refrigerator and throws
out food to recover your health with! The food only lasts for a couple seconds,
so be quick to pick them up!

Spark + Needle: Here is another pretty cool combination of abilities. When
used, Kirby attracts electricity and causes lightning to strike him. The
lightning will fry anything it hits, plus anything within a small radius of
Kirby will be killed by the surrounding waves!

Spark + Spark: Kirby starts out by surrounding himself with electrical
power, then creates a large forcefield to surround him wherever he goes. You
must hold down the B button to keep the forcefield up, though. As you move in
either direction, the shield gets smaller and smaller, but when you stand
still, it becomes large again!

Spark + Stone: Kirby shoots out a large, electrical boulder attached to a
electrical rope. The boulder bounces around the room, destroying nearly
everything it hits. The boulder disappears when you press B again, or if it
flies into Kirby (you don't get hurt if it hits you, though).

Stone Combinations
------------------

Stone: Using this ability turns Kirby into a stone figure. You can only
walk while in the stone form, and if you try walking up a hill, you'll roll
back down. Luckily, you can just walk through enemies without being scratched!

Stone + Bomb: Kirby throws out a pack of dynamite to attack. It'll explode
in a few seconds after it lands, so take cover and watch out because the rocks
that go flying when it explodes damage you as well!

Stone + Burning: This combination turns Kirby into an active volcano! He
shoots out balls of fire from the volcano on his head, which you can control
the direction they fly out by using the D-Pad.

Stone + Cutter: This ability combination is one of the more interesting
ones to try out.

Stone + Ice: Now THIS is a worthless ability combination! Kirby turns into
a puck-like shape with an ability to freeze whatever it hits. It's pointless to
use because you can hardly control it, plus there are much better combinations
to use to freeze enemies instead of this one!

Stone + Needle: With this combination, Kirby holds a large drill that
carries him forward. Release B at any time and the drill will detach and
continue flying in the direction it was facing. The drill can also cut through
solid walls while it is flying away.

Stone + Spark: Kirby shoots out a large, electrical boulder attached to a
electrical rope. The boulder bounces around the room, destroying nearly
everything it hits. The boulder disappears when you press B again, or if it
flies into Kirby (you don't get hurt if it hits you, though).

Stone + Stone: This combination is basically a much larger version of the
Stone ability being used by itself. Kirby becomes a stone figure and can plow
through enemies without getting hurt. You must turn back to normal in order to
jump or reach a higher area, though.

(Please note that this section contains the FULL enemy list for this game,
which includes the bosses. There are no battle strategies for any of the bosses
here, but if you need help defeating a boss, be sure to visit the Bosses
section of this guide.)

Acro
    Enemy Info Card Number: 4
    Ability: N/A
Description: This large, gray fish is the boss of Aqua Star. For help on
defeating it, check out the Bosses section of this guide.

Bivolt
    Enemy Info Card Number: 28
    Ability: N/A
Description: This creature is unique because it only forms when you climb
up those yellow, electrical poles through certain levels. This enemy will form
on the pole right where you first grabbed onto it, and then it'll move towards
you in an attempt to knock you off the pole. Just climb away from it before it
reaches you, and you'll be all right.

Blowfish
    Enemy Info Card Number: 34
    Ability: Bomb
Description: This round, green colored fish is found in some underwater
areas in the game. Be careful when encountering it because it'll explode if you
get too close. If you want its ability, quickly swim towards it and inhale it
before it gets a chance to explode in your face!

Bo
    Enemy Info Card Number: 38
    Ability: N/A
Description: Here is a pretty harmless enemy because all it does is stay
suspended in the air. It hardly even moves, and it doesn't even try to attack
you. Just inhaling or attacking with a special ability can defeat this enemy.

Bobo
    Enemy Info Card Number: 37
    Ability: Burning
Description: This fiery enemy just walks around on a ledge, moving back and
forth. It doesn't try to attack you, but you will get hurt if you accidentally
walk or fly into it. Just defeat it or inhale and swallow it to obtain its
Burning ability.

Bonehead
    Enemy Info Card Number: 35
    Ability: N/A
Description: This flying skull isn't too much of a problem for you. Simply
inhale it or use an ability to defeat it.

Bouncy
    Enemy Info Card Number: 17
    Ability: N/A
Description: This enemy does only one thing, and that is bouncing around in
the air. It can be easily taken down by being inhaled or destroyed with any of
your abilities.

Bronto Burt
    Enemy Info Card Number: 12
    Ability: N/A
Description: Of course you should all remember this creature from nearly
every Kirby game around! This round, winged, pink enemy isn't too much of a
threat. All you have to do is inhale it or use an ability to kill it.

Bumber
    Enemy Info Card Number: 64
    Ability: N/A
Description: This creature floats down from the sky with a parasol, which
is attached to the top of its head. You can easily avoid getting hit as it
lands since it drifts slowly to the ground.

Burnis
    Enemy Info Card Number: 52
    Ability: Burning
Description: This fiery bird can be pretty annoying when you encounter it
because it flies at a set pace in the air above you and drops flaming rocks
down to the ground. You can't obtain any abilities from the rocks, but you can
inhale the bird as it flies near and take its Burning ability instead!

Cairn
    Enemy Info Card Number: 49
    Ability: Stone
Description: This enemy is in the form of a snowman, but made of rock
instead. It hops in the air a couple times, then makes a higher leap into the
air. Then, it repeats its pattern endlessly. If you need the Stone ability, you
can simply inhale this enemy wherever you find it.

Chacha
    Enemy Info Card Number: 62
    Ability: N/A
Description: This maraca-shaking enemy is pretty annoying to attack because
if you try using an ability, it'll deflect the attack with its maracas. Also,
if you come near, it'll try to hit you with maracas. It'll be easier to avoid

from its original spot.

Sawyer

head. When you look at it, it looks like a harmless enemy, but when you turn

you around until it explodes.

whenever you come across it.

Squibby

them.

Adeleine
Found In: World 1, Level 2
Strategy: Just inhale the minor enemies that Adeleine draws to attack you.
After you beat enough of the small enemies, she'll draw the larger ice enemy.
Defeat it by inhaling the ice blocks it sometimes creates and spit them back at
it. Keep doing that until you defeat it, then Adeleine will create a clone of
the Dark Matter boss from Kirby's Dream Land 3. Defeat this creature by
inhaling the small black enemies that it shoots out, then spit them back at it.
Repeat that process until it's defeated. Now Adeleine will jump from her
platform and try to attack you. Beat her by using a simple Down + A slide!

King Dedede
Found In: World 1, Level 3
Strategy: This battle with King Dedede is exactly like the battle with him
at the end of Kirby's Dream Land 3. In his first form, he'll just attack using
his hammer or by jumping around. He'll also try to inhale and spit you into a
wall, so be careful! To defeat his first form, simply inhale the stars that
appear after he uses the hammer or jumps and spit them back at him. Next, he
starts to fly around the room while Dark Matter attacks you from within Dedede.
It'll chase you around the room while trying to eat you, and it'll shoot small
black balls towards you. To beat this form, inhale those black balls and shoot
them back at Dedede. Keep doing that until he is defeated for real.

Whispy Woods
Found In: World 1 Boss Level
Strategy: The battle against Whispy Woods in this game is much different
than in previous Kirby games. This time, Whispy is in the center of a circular
path and there are 4 miniature "tree" enemies moving around the path. Whispy
Woods will also shoot apples at you to attack. Inhale those apples, then spit
them at those tree enemies. Two hits per tree will destroy them, so this part
of the battle will go pretty quick. The next part of the battle begins with
Whispy Woods getting upset and shoots out a single white fireball straight
ahead, then it'll shake out many apples from its branches. Quickly inhale one
or two of those apples and keep them in your mouth for now. After the apples
clear off the path, 4 spikes will come out of the ground and sit there for a
moment. Spit the apple or apples you inhaled and spit them at a spike. Keep
inhaling the apples when he shakes them down, and then spit them at the spikes.
Do that about 6 times and you'll defeat Whispy Woods and the first world of the
game!

Pix
Found In: World 2 Boss Level
Strategy: When you start this battle, you'll be riding on a round platform
that circles a middle base. First, a red diamond will appear and start to
attack you by moving around and trying to hit you with a red spike. Simply jump
over or duck under it as it passes by to avoid getting hurt. After it stops
moving, a green diamond will appear to join the red one and they'll both attack
by spinning vertically in the form of spikes trying to hit you. Pass by them
when the spikes aren't about to come down on you. Survive that attack and a
blue diamond will appear to accompany the red and green diamonds. They'll
attack by bobbing up and down through the platform you're on trying to hit you.
Avoid them a while longer and you'll finally reach the top of the base and the
real battle will begin. After the boss meter fills up, a bunch of molecules
will come out of the platform. Inhale one of them and shoot it at one of those
diamonds when they come close. The diamonds will still be attacking by rotating
around the platform as spikes, trying to hit you. They will also fly around,
dropping energy balls to the platform. They won't do anything except hurt you
if they happen to fall on you. Just keep inhaling those molecules as they show
up, then shoot them at the diamonds. Three hits to each diamond will destroy
them. After they're all destroyed, they'll all move to the center of the ring
and explode, thus ending World 2!

Acro
Found In: World 3 Boss Level
Strategy: This whale from previous Kirby games is the boss of World 3.
It'll start off by swimming back slowly and spitting out skulls, enemies, and
spiked Gordos at you. Inhale the skulls and enemies and spit them back at Acro.
When it reaches the wall, Acro will get mad and swim in a square shaped pattern
into the background and then come back and crash into the ground, making a
couple of rocks appear. Inhale a rock and spit it back at Acro to hurt it some
more. Repeat the above strategy for swimming to the left side of the room. If
you don't kill it by the time you reach the left side, you'll have to swim to
the right again and inhale/spit whatever it sends your way, except the Gordos.
After you reach the right wall, it'll do a flip in the water and crash into the
ground, making a couple rocks appear. If you didn't kill it by now, inhale
those rocks and shoot them at him until he's defeated. Now, the screen will
start scrolling upward through this long corridor filled with fish. Inhale a
fish, and then watch out because Acro will swim straight up the corridor and
hurt you if you're in the way. Spit the fish at it to cause damage. The next
time around, Acro will float towards the bottom of the screen and spit greenish
colored bombs at you. Watch out and inhale a fish, then go down there and spit
it at it. Repeat that as necessary until you finally defeat it. Take the
crystal shard and you're done with World 3!

Magman
Found In: World 4 Boss Level
Strategy: At the start of this battle, Magman will be in the background
attacking you. It'll make a few fireball enemies jump out of the lava for a
moment. Inhale one of them and wait for Magman to make hills of lava come
towards you. Stand on the ledge that one of those hills isn't moving towards,
then when they reach the other ledges, spit that enemy at one of them to cause
damage. For the next attack, it'll shoot out the small enemies, then make those
hills of lava come towards three platforms. When those hills reach the
platforms, they'll move them upward for a moment, giving you a chance to attack
them with whatever's in your mouth. After that, Magman will make the small
enemies jump out of the lava for a moment, and then it'll make a couple lava
hills move closer to you. They'll move in between a couple of the ledges,
allowing you to hit them before they sink again. Repeat the above strategy
until you empty this boss's first meter. Then, it'll come to the left side of
the screen and start moving after you, making the action scroll to the right
onto dry land. When the next meter appears, Magman will turn into a large lava
puddle and move to the other side of the room, then shoot out a few flying fire
enemies. Inhale one of them, then wait for Magman to take shape again, and then
spit the enemy at it to attack. Another attack Magman will use is the ability
to shoot fire from its mouth. You can tell when it's going to perform that
attack because it'll start shaking and take a huge breath. The only way to
dodge getting hit by this large-ranged attack is by getting really close to the
boss (not close enough that you'll be touching it), then squat down. The attack
should miss you because you're in the only safe zone. One of the other attacks
in store for you is when Magman makes stones fall from the ceiling. Inhale them
and spit them back at Magman to hurt it. Repeat that strategy until you defeat
Magman. Take the crystal shard and you've completed World 4!

HR-H
Found In: World 5 Boss Level
Strategy: This boss really presents an actual challenge to you as opposed
to the previous bosses you've fought! As soon as the boss's health meter
appears, jump out of the way because it'll start by clapping its two paddles
for arms together and make a couple rocks appear. Quickly inhale a rock and
shoot it at the arms to cause damage to the boss. Some of its other attacks
include sweeping the ground with a laser that you can easily avoid by jumping
over. It'll also shoot a few bombs to the main platform, so inhale one of them
and wait for the boss to sweep its arm over the area. Shoot the arm as soon as
it comes in front of you to hurt it some more. Follow all of the above strategy
until this boss loses all its energy. Now, it'll become a flying ship and come
to the right side of the platform and gain another health bar. It'll now start
flying at a slow pace while the screen starts scrolling to the left. This
version of the boss attacks by shooting missiles, which you can inhale the
front part of, then spit it at the front of the ship. Another attack is it'll
try and cut you up with its scissor-like arms. It'll also unleash a whole bunch
of bombs and send them flying to the ground where you are. Inhale one or two of
them and spit it at its black front area. One more move this boss will make is
it'll fly high into the air, making the camera angle change, then it'll fly
back down in the middle of the platform. Stay as far to the left as possible to
avoid getting hit. Then, repeat the strategy for this part of the fight against
this boss until you defeat it. After it stops moving, take the crystal shard
that comes out and you'll be done with World 5! Now it's time to head to Ripple
Star for World 6 and the final bunch of levels!

Miracle Matter
Found In: World 6 Boss Level
Strategy: This is the final battle if you haven't obtained all the crystal
pieces in the game. If you have, then consider this as one of the final battles
in the game. First, let's go over each of Miracle Matter's different attacks
and what to do when he uses them in no particular order. In one attack, Miracle
Matter and four orbs surrounding it turn into metallic looking orbs. It'll stay
still for a moment, and then the orbs will float around the room inside of
bubbles. Avoid getting hit by them, then after they split into two pieces, keep
avoiding them. After they fall to the ground, that's when you inhale one of
them and quickly spit it at Miracle Matter while it's still a giant metal orb.
For another attack, Miracle Matter takes the form of a flying, green, spiked
cutter that flies around the room, then stops in the center after a while and
becomes the main, invulnerable form of Miracle Matter. Another form is when
Miracle Matter becomes an orange spiked circle in the middle of the room and
then makes long spikes come out of all sides. Then it makes them disappear as
the pattern comes around again. A different attack it uses is when it becomes a
large brown block that hovers around with rocks rotating around it. It'll crash
to the ground and a few rocks will fall to the ground. Watch out for the matter
when it comes near and inhale a rock or two that hits the ground, and spit them
back at the boss. A different attack it uses is when it becomes a huge floating
spark. A bunch of lasers come flying into the room and bounce off the large
ball and bounce around the room. When you see a small spark fly in, inhale it
and spit it at the spark to cause damage. Another attack is when Miracle Matter
moves to either the left side, the middle, or the right side of the room and
become a large fiery pillar. Then it'll retract and a couple of rocks are left
behind. Inhale a rock and shoot it at Miracle Matter while it's still in a
fiery form. One other attack it does is by becoming an ice block surrounded by
smaller diamonds. As it spins around, avoid getting hit and inhale one of the
smaller crystals when you get a chance and shoot it at Miracle Matter. This
should cover all of its different forms of attacking, so fight accordingly to
what Dark Matter does and you should be fine. After you finally defeat Miracle
Matter, grab the final crystal shard and see an ending to the game! If you have
all the crystals, you'll see a different ending and be warped to a new planet
made of Dark Matter, called Dark Star.

O2
    Found In: Dark Star
Strategy: This is the final battle of the game, provided you've obtained
all the crystal pieces throughout the game. This boss battle is VERY difficult,
and will take quite a few tries to beat, so be patient and you'll do fine. Your
objective is to shoot O2 in the red eye while avoiding the electrical balls it
shoots at you, as well as the explosions they cause when then reach your end of
the area. Just shoot it repeatedly in the eye with the crystal shard weapon
until the view switches so you'll be above its head. Shoot the halo until it
disappears, then use the L or R buttons to rotate around O2 so you'll be in
front of its green, spiked tail. Shoot at it while avoiding the gas it emits
until it disappears, then you'll be in front of the boss and its red eye again.
Keep shooting that eye while avoiding the explosions until you are able to
shoot at its halo and bandage again. After that, rotate under it and attack its
tail. Repeat the above strategy until you defeat the boss and beat the game!

-= 10. Mini-Games -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

In Kirby 64, there are three different mini-games, which you can access from
the Options menu in a saved game file. There may be more, but I am not
completely sure yet. Here, I'll tell you about all the mini-games in that menu.

100-Yard Hop
Description: This race is different than normal races since you have to
jump from circle to circle without stepping in the water. Press A to jump ahead
two spaces, and B to jump only one space ahead. Be careful when jumping so you
know not to jump by pressing the wrong button or you'll lose precious time by
falling in the water! In the harder difficulties, other obstacles are added to
the track as well as the water puddles. The first one to make it all the way to
the end of the track wins.

Bumper Crop Bump
Description: In this mini-game, you and your opponents are underneath a
tree's branches and must try to catch as much fruit that falls from the tree as
possible. Each fruit that falls is worth a point, and the player with the most
points at the end is obviously the winner. In hard difficulty settings for this
mini-game, bombs are sometimes dropped from the trees. If you catch the bomb or
even get hit by its explosion, you'll lose everything in your basket and be
reduced to 0 points. Since it gets crowded while trying to catch the fruit,
press A while next to an opponent to switch places with them. That way, you can
move around to other areas underneath the tree. When the mini-game is about to
end, all the fruit remaining starts to shake and it all starts to fall down.
After all the fruit falls, the game is over and the points are tallied.

Checkerboard Chase
Description: This mini-game is probably the most fun of the mini-games
around. The objective is to knock the opponents off the battlefield as much as
possible while they try to do the same to you. You do that by punching the
ground, therefore making the whole row you're looking down collapse along with
anyone standing on them. You can tell which pieces of the level are going to
collapse because each time you "punch" the ground, the row changes color to
signify that the row is going to fall. Press A to punch the ground, and move
around with the Control Pad. There is a meter for each player at the top of the
screen. Each time a player falls off the course, a bar is taken off that meter.
Once all five bars on your meter are gone, you're out of the game. Also, each
time a player is kicked out of the game, the outer rows of blocks will
automatically drop off the course, thus limiting your space.

Goal Game
Description: This isn't one of the mini-games you can access in the Options
menu. This is the one you play at the end of each level, excluding boss levels.
You make Kirby jump to a specific item you want. First, press A when he's
looking in the direction you want him to. Then watch he moves his arms up and
down as if he's stretching. The lower his arms are, the farther he'll jump. The
items available in this little mini-game are all listed in the Items section of
this guide. In other words, all the items are available for you to win in this
mini-game, with the exception of the Lollipop.
