=i. Introduction & Version History=
=---------------------------------=
Hello and welcome to my Mr. Nutz FAQ/Walkthrough. Mr. Nutz has appeared
on many platforms including the Gameboy. It has now been brought back,
fully colorized for the Gameboy Color. This game gives off the feel
of another "Conker's Pocket Tales" game, however, it is anything but
that. While Mr. Nutz may be a squirrel, he is in no way like Conker.

This game was _not_ made by Rare, it was made by Infogrames. If there is
any Gameboy Color game that has been under-rated, it has got to be this one.
Why did I write this FAQ you ask? Well, mainly because the game is really fun
to play. It's not a "must-buy" but I suggest everyone gives it a try if you
are looking for a challenge.

Version History:

=I. Story=
=--------=
It's Cold...

It's really, really cold...

And y'know what? It's getting colder.

The whole world is being cocooned in ice and snow by The Yeti -- a gruesome
beast with an icicle for a heart.

His plan is to create and rule a new frozen kingdom here on earth. Thankfully,
you are, as Mr. Nutz, Super Squirrel, about to turn up the heat...

=III. Items=
=----------=

Acorns
------
Collect as many of these as you can, they don't really count
for a score or anything but serve as weaponry purposes. Each one of
these can be shot at an enemy by pressing the B button. Collect a
bunch of them and fire away at those pesky enemies.

Coins
-----
These are what really count, collect AS MANY of these things
as you can in each Journey, they are very valuable and can sometimes
be hidden in secret places.

Berries
-------
I don't really know the names of these things, but I think
they are berries. You get a total of 6 berries to start out with and
each time you get hit you lose one of them. Lose them all and you will
lose a life. Collect these whenever you are low on berries.

=---------------=
=IV. Walkthrough=
=---------------=

-------------------
WORLD 1: WOODY LAND
-------------------

Journey 1:
----------
Ok, from the start, jump up the steps and squash the tomato. Keep
going forward and you will come to 2 more tomatoes, smash them and
continue up the steps. Here you will reach 2 slugs. Jump on top
of them 3 times each to kill them.

Continue on and collect your first 4 Coins in the game. Following
these coins will be an acorn, collect it. Jump up and kill the tomato
and then collect the next 3 coins you come to. After that, collect
the berry and kill the flying bee you come to. Collecting this berry
will increase your health meter by 1. Jump down and continue on.

Kill all bees, tomatoes and slugs you come to. Soon you will reach
the end (where you can go no further) and finish Journey 1!

Journey 2:
----------
Jump up and watch out for the spiky porcupine. Collect the 2 coins
and continue on. Dodge the Porcupine and then kill the 2 planteaters
on the steps and keep going. Collect the 3 acorns on the floor and
dodge the bees, slugs and porcupines you encounter, collect the
next 2 acorns you come to and keep heading toward the goal.

Kill the porcupine and bee and get the 4 coins, then kill the next
bee you come to and continue on. Watch out for the planteaters
they can sort of be hidden at times. Kill all enemies and collect
the single acorn on the step. Now you come to a sort of tower
thing, jump up to the top step and watch out for the porcupines
as you do so. Jump down onto the other side.

Kill the planteater (be careful) and collect the berry and keep
going. Dodge the enemies and collect the coins you come to.
Now there is a "Secret" area up ahead with tons of coins. When you
come to an ending platform (with trees across from it) jump onto
the trees across from it, here you will find tons of coins and
when you continue past the trees you will be taken to ANOTHER
"Secret" area which has tons of acorns AND tons of more coins,
AND a bunch of berries. Once you collect everything, head out
and you will finish Journey 2!

Journey 3:
----------
Right in the beginning, jump over the spikes and kill the hopper
you come to (See enemies). Jump over the first gap which has
a slug at the bottom and fall into the second gap which contains
3 coins. Collect the coins and jump back out to the other side.

Watch out for the hopper right when you jump out, kill it and
continue on. Jump up the set of stairs (be careful of the hopper,
he can be tough to kill here) and then jump over the HUGE gap
which has tons of coins on top of it.

On the other side you will find a berry. Collect it and continue
on. Kill all enemies you encounter and you will soon come to a
spider hanging from it's web, kill it and collect the berry right
next to it. Keep going and collect the 2 acorns and the 2 coins
right after that. Continue on and you will come to some steps
climb them and at the top is another berry. Get it.

Now, climb up to the top step where the berry was, from here jump
up and get the coin on the small platform above, there are a bunch
of platforms here so jump on all of them and get the coins. Keep
following the platforms up to the top of the level, collecting coins
as you go. You will soon make it to the top, jump accross to the left
to land on solid ground. Kill the hopper and keep going left.

You will come to 2 fruit-throwing enemies (See enemies), watch out,
if you don't kill them quickly they will throw the fruit and you'll
be in trouble, so kill them quickly. Instead of going to the left still,
jump down to another "Secret" area which has a bunch of coins and
a few acorns. At the end jump as far as you can and you'll land
back on those platforms.

Climb the platforms again to the top and when you come to the secret
area again, just pass it and continue going left. Collect the acorns
and jump over the set of spikes to the other side. On the other side,
kill the spider and hopper and continue going left.

Here's another tough part. You will be going over a long set of
spikes by jumping from platform to platform while collecting coins.
These aren't any ordinary platforms though. They sink when you stand
on them. They won't sink all the way to the spikes, but the constant
moving makes it tough to get accross. Once you get accross, kill
the hopper and go down the stairs.

You will see a platform accross from the stairs but don't go to it
yet. Instead continue going down the stairs to the bottom where you
will find another "Secret" area. Collect the coins and jump as far as
you can from the end of the platform. You will be taken to the
beginning of the level. Just go all the way back up and this time
jump accross the way instead of going all the way down the stairs.

Journey 4:
----------
You start out on a platform to the right of the screen, hop down and go
up the hill. At the top, hop across and collect all the coins. Then jump
down and go down the 2 ramps collecting coins. Once at the bottom, collect
the berry to increase your health meter. Kill the 2 slugs and then hop up
the platforms to the top.

Go right at the top to go back the way you came, drop down and go down
the 4 ramps. Kill the slugs on the 2nd and 3rd ramps and the spider on the
4th ramp. Once at the bottom, go left and down the ramps, collecting coins
and killing enemies. Then jump up to the right near the bottom and collect
the coins on the lone platform.

Continue down the last ramp and at the bottom, go right and kill the slug.
Cross the bridge, kill the hopper, and go up the platforms, collecting coins
as you go. At the top, go right and kill the enemies and collect the coins.
Hop down the big jump, and drop all the way down collecting a bunch of coins.
At the bottom, go left, kill the slug and jump up onto the platform, collecting
the coins.

Go down the ramp and go right at the bottom. Kill the hopper and cross the
bridge. Kill the last hopper and then go off screen to complete the 4th
journey in this world, now it's time for the 5th Journey (Boss).

Journey 5: Mr. Spider Attacks!
------------------------------
Time for the boss. This large spider will enter from the right side and
smaller spiders will drop down from above. To hit the large spider, jump on
its back. Continue to do this several times, while avoiding the smaller
spiders. To get rid of the smaller spiders, just jump on their backs. Once
you hit Mr. Spider enough times, it will eventually die and the smaller
spiders will vanish, and Mr. Spider will be defeated.

-----------------------
WORLD 2: ADVENTURE PARK
-----------------------

Journey 1:
----------
Go right, collect the coin and kill the gopher on the ground. Be careful of
the next tree. When you walk past it, a large mallet will pop out and hit you.
Avoid the mallet and jump up to where the mouth of the tree is located. Hop up
to the branch and collect the coin. From this branch, do a long jump right and
collect the berry in mid-air. You will land on a black, bouncing box.

Hop off to the right onto the stump, and be careful of the tree to the right,
it's another one that has a mallet. Once the mallet is gone, hop up to the
mouth and then to the right onto the black, bouncing box which will bounce you
up to the branch above. Climb up, collect the acorn and kill the ladybugs
above your head.

Continue up the branches and collect the next acorn, then hop over to the
right. Collect the acorn, kill the ladybug, then hop back over to the left
where you will find a little moving platform. Jump onto it and it will take
you downward. After about 2 seconds, jump off onto the next tree branches
and collect the coins. Drop onto the next moving platform, which leads to
another tree straight across. Kill the gopher, and climb up the tree, killing
the ladybugs.

Collect the coins on your way up. At the top, hop to the left to find a hidden
platform with a bunch of acorns. Collect them, and hop right onto the next
moving platform which leads downward east. On the other side, do a long jump
blindly and you will land back to the bottom where the black, bouncing box
is located. Hop up the 2 platforms, collect the acorns, and kill the ladybug.

Hop on top of the tree (avoiding the mallet) and collect the acorn. Kill the
ladybug and jump off onto the right ramp. Go up the ramp and collect all of
the acorns. Now, go backward and climb back up all the trees using the moving
platforms. Head back up to the last moving platform where you jumped off.
Collect the coins forming the right arrow, and follow the arrow right. Hop
up on top of the trees, go down the moving platform and you will land on
top of another tree. Collect the acorn and then jump up onto the bouncing
black box. Collect the coins forming the right arrow, follow the arrow right
to go off screen and finish the 1st Journey.

Journey 2:
----------
Collect the 2 coins and kill the bird. Climb the 2 branches and go down the
moving platform. Once at the bottom, carefully jump on to the moving platform
below. Once on the other side, climb all the way up to the top of the tree.
Kill the bird and jump across the 2 mini platforms in the air (left). Climb
the branch and go to the mouth of the tree and onto the next branch. Jump
straight across and white blocks will appear, then collect the 2 berries on
top of the tree.

Then you will see a little switch just to the left, hop onto it to push it
down. Now jump back down onto the moving platform. Once at the bottom, do a
leaping jump and make your way back to where the first downward platform was.
Go down and when you come to the end and see the next moving platform below,
don't go on it, but instead drop straight down.

Kill the gopher and then go into the opening to collect TONS of coins. Make
your way back out using the black bouncing boxes. Kill the bird and then go
right. Make your way down 2 branches and hop onto the 2 black bouncing boxes
to the right. Hop over and land on the bottom right platform. You will find
a giant gopher here. Kill it and then hop up the platform. Kill the gopher
and hop over another platform and kill the giant gopher.

Jump down onto the switch to hit it and then jump down to the ground. Go
right, hop up and kill the gopher then jump onto the black, bouncing box
and bounce up the the next box, bounce up to the next 2 boxes and finally
to the top of a switch. Hit it and jump up to the bridge. Kill the bird and
bounce up the 2 boxes. Go right and off screen to complete the 2nd Journey.

Journey 3:
----------
Go right, collect the coin and climb up the platforms to find a scarecrow.
Kill it and then go right off the platform to the one below. Destroy the
gopher and collect the coin. Use the black bouncing boxes to cross the gap.
Bounce to the top of a platform where you will find some acorns and a switch.
Hit the switch and collect the acorns. Then drop off the right edge of this
platform to land on some coins. Kill the scarecrow and jump onto the moving
platform.

Go down the tree collecting the acorns. Once the scarecrow is in view, climb
back up the tree and hop onto the mini platforms in the air which will lead
you to a hidden platform with a bunch of coins. Collect the coins and climb
back down the mini platforms, and down the tree branches. Kill the scarecrow
when you come to it and then go right. Get rid of the gopher, then climb up
the tree branches, collecting the berry on the way up. Get the acorn on top
of the tree, then jump over to the right to hit the switch.

From here, drop down and go left again, kill the scarecrow again as well as
the gopher you come to next. Jump up, and then drop down into the colored
wall area. When you land below, jump up and go right. Kill the gopher, go
past the black, bouncing box and you will find a hidden area with a bunch
of coins, collect them and head back to where you came from. Drop down to the
bottom level and go right.

Go along here and kill the 3 gophers with acorns or just by jumping on them.
Continue going right and off screen to finish the 3rd journey in this world.

Journey 4:
----------
From the start, jump onto the platform which takes you down to the tree.
Collect the acorns and go across the straight moving platform, hitting the
ladybugs on your journey with acorns. Once on the other side, collect the
acorns, jump up and throw an acorn at the ladybug, then climb up the 2
branches. Hop onto the straight moving platform (left) and it will take you
left while collecting a bunch of coins.

When it stops, jump onto the 2 black, bouncing boxes which will bounce you
up to the nearest branch. Kill the ladybug, and jump onto the black bouncing
box to the right which will bounce you up to another straight moving platform.
Take it right, killing the ladybugs. Once on the other side jump onto the
downward moving platform. You will get a lot of coins here, once at the bottom
jump off onto the tree, then down. Kill the scarecrow.

Jump up onto the 2 black, bouncing boxes onto the next platform. Kill the
scarecrow and go right past the tree. You will now enter a colored wall
area. Go right then jump up to the next level at the end. Kill the ladybug
and jump up to the next level. Kill the ladybug and exit the colored wall
area. Destroy the scarecrow and go right off screen past the black, bouncing
boxes to finish the 4th journey.

Journey 5:
----------
Kill the bird and collect the 3 acorns. Now wait for the rope to come to you,
then jump onto it to hang on. It will lead to another rope, which then leads
to another platform on the right. Kill the giant gopher and continue venturing
right. Climb up the tree, killing the gophers and collecting the coins until
you reach the top where you will find another rope. Jump onto it. It will lead
you to another tree. Kill the gopher and then take the straight moving platform
right. Jump up to another moving platform left.

From here, jump off the platform onto the tree branch. Climb up the black,
bouncing boxes onto the tree above. Once at the top, kill the bird and
take the moving platform down collecting all the coins. Once at the bottom,
climb up the 2 branches, kill the gopher, and hop up and go right off screen
to finish the 5th journey.

Journey 6:
----------
Jump up and kill the ladybug and go up the hill. At the top, kill the scarecrow
and continue right. Jump onto the switch and use the bouncing boxes to get up
to the top. Go right and down the path of bouncing boxes on the sides and coins
in the middle. Hit the 2 switches on your way down to remove the last 2 blocks
blocking your path at the bottom.

Once all 3 switches have been hit, drop down to where you started and go into
the colored wall area. Kill the ladybug and drop down to the bottom of this
area. Go right and kill the scarecrow. Swing across the spikes using the rope
and kill the scarecrow on the other side. Climb up and kill the ladybug
to the right, continue right and go down killing the next ladybug below.

Continue right, past the tree and go off screen to complete the 6th journey
in the 2nd world.

Journey 7:
----------
Go past the first tree once the mallet is gone. Then climb up the branches
of these 2 trees collecting acorns and berries. Go right onto the next tree
doing the same thing. Jump down to the right of the 3rd tree where you will
land in front of a house. This is the witch's room. Press Up on the D-Pad
to enter it.

WITCH'S ROOM
------------
The witch will start out by throwing skulls at you, try and avoid them as best
as you can. After about 2 rounds of skull throwing, the witch will lower down
on her broom and start throwing pumpkins which turn into pumpkin men. Kill
these easily and jump on top of the witch to hit her whenever you get a chance.
Hit her a few more times and she will become angered and float back up again.

She will begin to throw skulls again, so try and avoid them as best as possible
once again. The BEST way to avoid these skulls is to stand right under the
witch, as she does not throw skulls underneath her body. The witch will
continue this process of skull throwing and pumpkin throwing. Your only chance
to hit her is when she is throwing pumpkins.

Do not try throwing acorns at her, as she is immune to them. Once you hit
her enough times she will begin to spin and she will be defeated. That ends
the 2nd world.

------------------
WORLD 3: THE HOUSE
------------------

The Living Room:
----------------
The beginning can be a bit confusing here. Go left until you come to a stool.
Jump over it so you are on the left side of it. Now continue pressing Right
on the D-Pad to push the stool over to the table. Once the stool is aligned
next to the left side of the table, stop pushing. Now jump up onto the stool
and onto the top of the table.

From the top of the table, go all the way right to find a fish bowl. Hop over
it and push it left next to the platform above. Hop onto the fish bowl and then
onto the platform above. Kill the snail and hop onto the candle chandelere.
Hop off to the right onto the lower platform. Kill the snail and then jump
off right onto the checkered bouncing box. Kill the bee and use the boxes
to get all the way right. Collect all the coins in this hidden area.

Go back the way you came, over the checkered bouncing boxes and back to the
candle chandelere. Now, hop up onto the platform to the left and kill the
snail. Follow the trail of platforms leading up and to the left. You will
come to a bee house and a bee. Kill the bee, jump over the bee house and
continue right. You will come to a dead end with 2 bee houses. Jump up on the
top one and jump straight up into the opening to leave the living room.

=V. Enemy List=
=-------------=
TOMATOES
--------
Your basic enemy, they just walk around and if they touch
you, you lose a berry. Just jump on top of them to kill them.

SLUGS
-----
These are a little tougher to kill. Jump on them 3 times
to defeat them.

BEES
----
These enemies are tough to defeat. They fly around and if
they touch you, you will lose a berry. Jump up when they fly
low to defeat them.

PORCUPINE
---------
These are tough to kill. I don't bother killing them,
but rather just jumping over them. If you land on them you will
lose a berry, if you touch them, you will lose a berry. You can
either hit them with your tail or shoot an acorn at them, but
it's not really worth it, just pass them.

HOPPER
------
These are the weirdest creatures I've ever seen. They
sort of look like aliens but they hop VERY high so they can be
tough if you don't kill them quickly. Jump on their heads to
kill them.

SPIDER
------
These things hang from trees by their web. They move up
and down on their web, but they're not very tough to kill. Just
jump on their head to defeat them.

VENUS FLY TRAPS
---------------
You know these plants, the ones that have mouths and trap flies. Well, they
are here and very dangerous. Their sharp spikey teeth will tear you apart
in no time.

GOPHERS
-------
These little things crawl on the ground, but they are very easy to defeat.
Just jump onto their backs to kill them. If they touch you, you lose one
of your berries on your health meter.

LADYBUGS
--------
These little creatures fly all around in the air, jump on top of them to
kill them off. If they hit you, you will lose a berry on your health meter.

BIRDS
-----
These things are pretty big when compared to the other enemies. But they
are nevertheless just as easy to kill. The only factor that makes these
birds tougher is that they are larger, thus creating a larger attack radius
upon Mr. Nutz. Jump on top of them or throw an acorn to kill them.

GIANT GOPHERS
-------------
These are the same as the small gophers, only increased 10x in size. They are
just as easy to kill, but they have a larger attack radius to hit Mr. Nutz,
so they are 10x as dangerous when it comes to attacking.

SCARECROWS
----------
These things are 2x the hazard. They will throw their heads at you and then
regrow them. So if you are hit by a head or touched by the scarecrow itself,
you lose a berry on your life meter. Just jump on top of it or throw an
acorn to kill it.

*******************************************************************************

=-------------=
=VI. Passwords=
=-------------=
As you may have noticed, Mr. Nutz saves the game using a Password system, which
means, after each world you complete, you will receive a password to write
down. You then keep this password to continue the game when you want to play
again, and you will start off on the next world you left off in. Upon request,
I've decided to list the passwords for each world, so you people who want to
"skip ahead" into future levels, you can do so by using these passwords. If you
find one of these passwords inaccurate, let me know.

=----------------------=
=VII. Hints/Tips/Secrets=
=----------------------=
Here are some basic playing tips:

Collect Coins
-------------
Collect as many coins as you can, you can never have too many coins.

Don't Rush
----------
You don't have a time limit, so what's the rush? Going fast is bound to lose a
life so take things nice and slow unless you know what you are doing.

Be Cautious
-----------
Watch out! Always watch your back, there can be enemies almost anywhere, so be
on the lookout.

Keep a Good Supply
------------------
Make sure you always have a good supply of berries, otherwise, your bound
to die.
