Kathinja's Legend of Mana Guide!
                            Currently Version 4!

This Guide will CERTAINLY get really, really good, because this game is great,
and I can't stand NOT writing about it! Also, I feel a debt to all those other
people that wrote FAQs, and figure I better write some for myself! I'll try to
have useful, complete info, cuz that's the best kind of info! ^o^

There's two strong points to this FAQ so far. There's a big abilities list,
and the Chapters guide is getting lots of focus from me. For now, this sets
this faq apart from the others. I'll try to add other valuable things to the
guide as I finish off those sections.

But still feel free to sent me any info or suggestions at gomf@angelfire.com

       1. Frequently Asked Questions
              +------------------------------------------------+
Q. Can you help me with Li'l Cactus (or any other section)?
A. Check the section of chapters! If the info you need isn't in the chapter
summary, give me a quick mail at gomf@angelfire.com with your questions. I'll
try to help you out!

Q. My pet just sits there in battle, and never gets experiences or kills.
How do I help the fellow?
A. Food! Different foods can give pets attributes like Aggresiveness, which
can make him more likely to attack. Also, if you exquip the ForbiddenRing,
given to you by Daena after you meet wth Gaeus, it'll automatically
share exp with everyone.

Q. Why the heck do you like Pearl? She's a suxor!
A. Cuz she's so good natured and absent-minded, like me! Plus she looks like
a Final Fantasy-style White Mage, and I love White Mages! ^_^

Q. Got a quick tip on catching eggs?
A. Sure! Lay multiple fruit down around the miniature monster. Let him choose
the tasty one, nearly insuring a long-lasting post-meal snooze! Then, just
pick up all the extra fruit after Pelican carries the egg off.

Q. How do I learn how to make Golems/Instruments/Weapons/Armor?
A. Refer to the 'Golem Workshop'/'Instruments 101'/'Blacksmithing' chapters.

Q. Why the %@#* do you have a girl nick?
A. Cuz I like Kathinja! ^_^

              --------------------------------------------------
Main character - pick either a boy or a girl. I personally think the boy is
ugly, so I took the girl.

Niccolo - Plump rabbit-man. This merchant uses a claw to beat up his
opponents. He's got a weakness to money and drinks.

Elazul - Mysterious guy who's always looking for the ever-wandering Pearl,
who is like a sister to him. He weirds a sword and is strong, it would seem.

Pearl - She's an airheaded "Guardian" that gets lost a lot, which troubles
Elazul. I like her a lot, even if she's near-useless.

Emerelda - Green-haired Jumi who's entire family was killed. Doesn't have
a Knight to protect her.

Daena - Cat warrior who uses a flail. For whatever reason, she seemed really
weak.

Escad - Kinda cool forest warrior, for the one or two battles you get to use
him in. He uses a two-handed sword.

Lisa - Bud the elf's big sister. She weilds a broom. ^-^

canary, not a chocobo.

the town store in Dominia. He's apparently a purchaser from Niccolo, the
traveling salesman.

many disguises.

talk to him twice.

from the hero if he/she has too many.

Rachel - Mark's daughter, this girl helps run the store and the bar.

Watts - This grumpy miner will help you learn to make your own weapons.

Pelican - Mailman for Dominia. She's kind vain, but a nice gal otherwise.
She carries the monster eggs to catch back to your Home.

Professor Bomb - Crazy inventor who makes Golems. Hopefully, you'll have
more success with them than him. ^_~

lots of fighting stuff from him early on.

Meimei - Fruit-based fortune teller who is saving for retirement.

the right lover.

nobody will know about him.

Revanshe the dancer.

Cap'n Tusk - This walrus is the captain of the SS Buccaneer.

Revanshe - She's the dancer at Polpota Harbor. She loves to dance, because
she's a dancer!

Magnolia - An infernal doll with a Fire Core. She lives in the Junkyard.

               5. Chapters
              +------------------------------------------------+
I tried putting the most essential info for the chapters without complete
info. Most of the help will expand as I play more/get more time. Also, some
of the names of the Chapters are from the Diary, I'll replace them with the
actual names once I play through the game a second time.

                   Niccolo's Buisness Unusual (Dominia)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you don't have any other sidekicks, head to north Dominia's marketplace.
Niccolo will be there, and if you talk to him, he will join you. Head to the
store (on the bottom left on the first scren you come to), and in the
left-hand door. Nic will talk to Teapo there, and tell him that he's got a
AF Wheel for the low, low price of 500,000 Lucre. He rejects it, but Nic says
he'll give it to you in the meantime so that Nic can show Teapo how good it
is. Using this Artifact, you player can place the "Luon Highway" on the map.
Go there, and make your way through. You'll encounter Daena on the way, speak
to her. Then move on, beat the boss, and Niccolo will thank you, sell you
some items, and give you AF Flame and AF Medallion, and be off.

                        Tiny Sorcerers (Dominia)
                           Prerequisite: ???
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At some point, Pelican in the residential area of Dominia will tell you that
he can't deliver mail, because two freaky lil children are casting spells are
wreaking havoc around the residential area. Head up past him and you'll get to
an area with some creepy pumpkins and such. You'll find Lisa and Bud, and
fight them. They aren't too hard. Afterward, they'll ask you to be your
apprentice. It doesn't seem to matter much, though, they move in with you no
matter what you choose. ^-^

                         Gaeus's Wisdom (Dominia)
                    Prerequisite: Niccolo's Buisness Unusual
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go to Mana's Blessing in Dominia, and meet Daena in one of the rooms. She
wants to meet Gaeus, and asks you to go with her. Travel to Luon Highway,
and make your way far east. Talk to Gaeus there, and he'll talk about some
stuff, Daena will give you the ForbiddenRing, which gives you some . Talk to
him again, and he'll tell you about the tree near your house. Head back home
to start the Mana Orchards quest.

                        Where's Putty (Ulkan Mines)
                    Prerequisite: Mine Your Own Buisness
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you take the "Dudbear Express" to the Dudbear's lair, you'll find that
Putty, leader amoungst the Dudbears is kidnapped by the Pirate Penguins!
Well, march on over to the SS Buccaneer, head all the way down past David
(of 'Summer Lovin' and 'Li'l Cactus' fame), into the room with a shaking
barrel in it. Talk to it, Putty will hop out and run off. Head to the cliff
at Polpota Harbor, and talk to Putty. You're all set!

                          Lost Princess (Dominia)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Talk to Elazul in the bar in Dominia, and go through the conversation there.
Then offer to help him find Pearl. Head to Mekiv Caverns, and make your way
back. Beat the boss there, and find Pearl. Oh, not only will Pearl blush and
look kawaii, she'll also give you AF Stone Eye and AF Firefly Lamp! Not a
bad mission, eh? ^_^

                         Diddle's Letter (Dominia)
                             Prerequisite: ???
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After some point, when you go to the fountain where Capella and Diddle are
playing, Diddle will get up and walk away. Capella will go look for him.
Head to the inn, where Cap asks Miss Yuka where Diddle went. She points the
juggling monkey to Pelican. Head to the houses in Dominia, where Pelican
cannot be found. Capella figures silly Diddle must put a stamp on his head
(how he figured that out, I've got no clue), and puts a stamp on his own head.
After a little struggle, Pelican swoops down and carries Capella to Luon.

Head to Luon, and after a little while, you'll find a letter sitting at one
of the forks. Go to it, and Capella will come by. Ope the letter, read it,
then head towards the cave at Luon. You'll encounter Diddle there, and he
asks you if Capella read the letter. Say no, and the two will head back toward
the enterance. Eventually Capella will admit it, and Diddle will walk away.
Head into the cave, eventually you'll find Diddle. They'll make up and the
chapter is over, but not before giving you a Gator Skin. If you want to see
their new audience, head to Lumina. ^_^

                         Two Torches (Gato Grottoes)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you see Escad walking on the Gato map to the Healing Temple, you can
start this chapter. Anyway, head to the temple, and to the back room. There's
a story point with Daena, Matilda, and Escad. Eventually, Matilda will be
kidnapped. You have to chase them to the other cliff (the right hand part
of the fork) and then into the dungeon. After wandering around for a while,
you'll fight a boss, and save Matilda. A job well done. ^^

                           Huntin' Du'Cate (Jungle)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hear the plight of Hamson and Skippy, then head into the Jungle to find
Du'Cate. As you head out the screen, Sotherbee will say "Oh!". If you head
back, he's chasing a Lilipea. If you talk to the Lilpea, he'll run into the
next screen. Follow him. Then, att he beginning of each screen after that,
talk to him, he'll go to another exit. Just trust the lil guy's keen sense
of direction. After a while, you'll meet Selkie who will cast a spell on
you, preventing you from getting lost (??). Then keep following the Lilipea
until you get to Hamson. Follow him right and up, and then follow him again.
He'll meet up with Skippy. If you go up/left, you'll meet Rosiotti. If you go
down/left, you'll return to the enterance. After meeting Rosiotti, go back to
the enterance via the other path. Talk to both Skippy and Hamson, and agree to
work with them. Head right a bunch of screens, you occur upon Du'Cate
Territory. Go right some more, eventually come to this monster. Beat him, and
when Sotherbee offers you a bounty, give it to the others, then Sotherbee will
instead give you AF Sand Rose! Yay!

                           Murmuring Forest (Jungle)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I forget this one! You need to find Selkie in the Jungle, but I'm not sure
what else. Sorry! ^^;;

                           Gorgon's Eye (Lake Kilma)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Someone's turning all the Pirate Penguins to stone! Anyway, head through the
dungeon, talking to the Cap'n and the other guys on the way. You need to meet
a person to give you the ability to see the cloaking faeries, and then you
can progress. After a while, you'll make you way to a cliff, which Tote the
turtle will usher you off of. You'll fight a boss at the bottom. After you
win, you'll get something, and all the Penguins will be well again.

                             Seeking Faeries (Gato)
                          Prerequisite: Twin Torches
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matilda asks you to go find Daena. Head to Tote in Lake Kilma, he'll tell you
a woman was by asking about Faeries. Walk back a screen or two, Daena's there.
Talk with her, then head through the place until you get to a place where
Daena travels to the Faerie world. Beat the kinda-hard boss, and you'll head
back to Gato, where you tell Matilda what's up.

                             Teatime (Mindas Ruins)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Find and help Teapo. You make make your way through the gates by talking to
solitary Flowerlings in the middle of a screen, then talking to the F'lings
that drop down to move the gate corrosponding to their position. After you
make your way through, you'll have to head back to the Monolithic Structure,
which will open up. Wander through, and you'll find Teapo. While he's talking,
a bat will try to steal his blood, then your blood once Teapo heads out, Beat
him, and head out. Then you're done! You get AF [somethingorother]

Mine Your Own Buisness (Ulkan Mines)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Head into the mines, and go along until you get to a shop. Talk to Pohkiel
there, he'll say Watts went deep into the have to find some ore. Well, go
way down, you'll see him. Talk to him a little, and you'll fight a kind-of
hard boss. You need to knock the buds off of the plant, then kill the lose
buds. After you kill it, Watts will give you something, and head back. You
can now start "Watts Hammer". Also, you can listen to Pokeihl's little fun
song about Watts. ^-^

                             Daddy's Broom (Home)
                  Prerequisite: 'Li'l Cactus', 'Infernal Doll'
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lisa's broom, a dear momento of her late father, is missing! You'll find out
that Li'l Cactus, the silly thing, picked it up, thinking it was old and
trash, and ran it to the Junkyard! Well, take the Bud-ster with you and head
over, before Lisa starts crying. Now, I'm told that if you mess this next
part up and arrive at Prof. Bomb's place, the junkyard will re-arrange itself,
making it really hard to first. So, for the love of Undine, save before you
go! Anyway, talk to the junky dolls as you go, and they'll sometimes give you
clues. Once you find the Broom, monsters will appear. Lisa will try to fight
with it, but break it! Bud tells her to get back, you and him will handle it.
Beat up the thugish junkpiles, and then head back home. When you get there,
things look bleak due to the semi-snapped sweeping stick. But, Bud, with his
keen magical prowess, will fix it up in a jiffy. Thus, the mission ends!

                           Infernal Doll (Junkyard)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Head to the Junkyard. There will be an ominous doll there. Talk to the
Jack-in-the-box there, and he'll tell you which toys to follow. Follow them,
you'll be lead to a bunch of monster with boss music. Beat them up. You'll
meet Louie, who'll say that the dolls don't might being destroyed. Anyway,
once you finish, you'll get the oh so lovely Artifact AF Tome of Magic!

                           Diddle Had it! (Lumina)
                        Prerequisite: Diddle's Letter
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go to Lumina. If Diddle leaves, talk to Cappella, and the quest will start.
Then leave Lumina. Eventually, you'll see four Shadoles enter Lumina. Go in,
talk to Capella, and leave the screen. The four Shadoles will then surround
Diddle on the map, and he'll dissappear. Cap will run off. Head to the
underworld, a Shadole will transport you to the bottom. Pokiehl will explain
that the Shadoles will drag you down in order to keep your soul. Don't worry,
the more times you mess up, the less Shadoles will be there to stop you.
After passing four groups of Shadoles, you'll meet up with Cap and Diddle.
After a long conversation, you have to kill an undead ape-mummy in order to
save the two musicians. So, beat them up, and you'll get out of the
Underworld. And then you're all set! ^_^

                        Glass Tower (Tower of Lieres)
Prerequisite: At least 'Flame of Hope'
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If Pearl is in front of the Tower instead of a Boink, you can do this mission.
Talk to her, head into the Tower. Make your way up using the crystals, it's
not very hard. Kill the boss at the top, Elazul will come up, scold Pearl,
then threaten you about not letting her get hurt. He'll head back down, you
bring Pearl down, and you'll find Sandra's trademark note. She'll appear,
summon a monster, and then leave afterward. I'm told that Elazul can be
found resting in your bed after this chapter ends, but I didn't try it.
Anyway, a chapter well done, considering you get to use Pearl! ^-^

                        Flame of Hope (Gato Grottoes)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll find a Sproutling complain to a nun as you come in. After that, move
upward, and you'll meet Rubens. After chatting with him, head to the terrace,
watch that, then head to the Temple of Healing. After that scene, head back
to the Cliff (So much running!). There's another scene there, and you need
to head BACK to the temple, where a nun will be crumpled on the ground. Boyd
will rush in, find it's not serious. Head back to the terrace. There'll be
an _important_ scene, and then you'll get sent to the dungeon in Gato.

Make your way through the dungeon, eventually you'll come to the end. Sandra
will reveal herself, and then get away. You'll still get AF Ancient Tablet
and AF Torch of Coral for your effort though, thankfully! ^_^

                      Can't Look Back (Fieg Snowfields)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mephianse will wander in the Snowfields, saying something about his dead
brother. As you wander through yourself, you'll find that his brother is
actually alive, but that he turned into a huge monster. Mephianse can't
kill him though, because he's the brother. So, it's your job! ^_~ Beat him
up, and you're all set.

                         Summer Lovin' (Madora Beach)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll learn of Valerie and David, two star-crossed Penguin lovers. David
feels the need to obey his Penguin Pirate destiny, but he wants to be with
Val. Anyway, make your way through the dungeon. You can stomp crabs as you go,
but I haven't figured out if their's a bonus for doing so. At the end, the
two penguins will promise each other to get back together someday.
So sweet, eh? Oh, it gets sweeter... you get AF Rusty Anchor and AF Moon's
Mirror! Yay! ^_^

                        Drowned Dreams (Polpota Harbor)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meet Flameshe the mermaid near the flower stand, then head to the cliff to the
left, and meet Thoma. Head to the hotel talk to the Mr. Moti on the right,
head outside, meet Basket Fish. Head to the main room of the inn, and go down
the semi-obscured exit near the bottom right. Meet Boyd, ask him all the quest
ions, and talk to him again. Then say that you think Thoma might have blue
eyes. Head out to the oyster-bar, view the scene there, then try to leave the
hotel. After that, go to the bar where Basket is, talk to Thoma, watch the
scene, and be done with the chapter. The hotel owner give you AF Pirate's Hook
and AF Bottled Spirit. Later you can find Toma offering flowers to the memory
of Thona on the cliff. This was just another chapter requiring a just bunch of
running around. ^-^

                           Faeries' Light (Lumina)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gilbert is trying to woo Monique, a lampmaker in Lumina. However, she's
troubled because she can't sell enough lamps to stay in buisness. She needs
to sell at least six more lamps. Gil takes you outside and asks you if you
will sell three lamps, while he sells three lamps. You can just buy them, if
you've got the money to waste, or you can sell the lamps to the Dudbears. You
can learn Dudspeak from the bartender made of puzzle pieces. I'll list them in
this FAQ for now, but until then, just talk to the duds, and don't ask them to
buy until you've already said two other things to them. If you mess up and one
says "Gak!", just talk to another you haven't sold to, or leave the screen and
re-enter.

                            The Lucky Clover (Geo)
                        Prerequisite: The Glass Tower
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before the quest actually starts, first you must find Elazul in Dominia's bar,
join up with him, and try to leave. Pearl will show up, take her along to your
home. Elazul will say he's headed for Geo. Head to Geo, get Elazul, head to
the Academy on a school day. Talk to the green-haired girl, the quest starts
then go to the inn, come back on Undine or Gnome day, and visit her in the
library. Then visit her AGAIN on a school day, then AGAIN on a vacation day.
Then she'll follow you around, you'll have to bring her to the principal,
Mephianse, office while he's teaching (I think Dryad Day), and find a core.
Then head to the inn, talk to the teapot behind the counter, he'll deny having
a core. Head to the palace, get a core, and then go back to the inn, and get
the last core. Then Emerelda will he kidnapped by Sandra. Chase them through
to the battle arena under the palace. Unfortunately, it's too late after you
beat the monster, Emerelda has been killed... ;_;

                        The Quiet Sea (SS Buccaneer)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Refer to the map in the Miscellaneous section to start this chapter. A
Penguin catches a bottle fishing. He opens it, a ghost pops out. He runs away.
Find him on the bottom of the ship, where you saw David or found Putty, and
he'll be in a barrel. Talk to him for a while, then talk to the Cap'n. Talk
to the barrel-penguin again, he'll give you the bottle. Chase the ghost up
on deck, and bottle him up again. Cap'n will give you some metal and a crabs
for your Home's library.

                       The Treasure Map (SS Buccaneer)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Check the map in the Miscellaneous section to start this. You'll head to the
Mekiv Cavern, and you'll look around until you find the map. Then Dudbears
will promptly rip it up, you have to chase down each one and get the pieces
back. After you do that, you'll win and the Cap'n will give you another crab
for your Home. ^-^

                        Reach for Stars (Duma Desert)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you head into Duma, you'll find Kathinja with some of her students. Make
note of the colors of the students clothes. She'll explain that Mephianse
took a supposedly important book, and is perhaps going to use it for
something evil, or possibly dastardly! Anyway, she sends you into the desert
to find him. Where there are forks, there will be one Kathinja follow and one
Mephianse follower. If you noted the colors as I recommended, this'll be easy,
just follow the Kathinja's students! Anyway, you'll meet up with Mephianse,
but he says he just tossed out the book! He'll push you back a screen and
you'll end up fighting monsters to boss music! Anyway, go back. Mephianse will
explain that he wil use this cannon to knock out all the stars in the sky!
Unfortunately, you're powerless to stop him. Fortunately, it's actually a
firework cannon, so sit back and enjoy the show. Afterward, Kathinja will
resume his regular position as teach in the Geo magic school.

The Dragon Princess (The White Forest)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Make your way through this forest with Larc. He'll tell you when the path you
choose is the one that Sierra took, simply go along with what the dragoon
says. After you make your way all the way back to Vandies. She'll simply
give the Mana stone over to Larc. Larc will take it and be off. Then
Vandies and Sierra need to test your powers. After beating them, it's time to
head to Drakonis. Too late, unfortunately, cuz Drakonis casts a spell that
turns The Underworld into The Flames. And you have to fight a possessed
version of Larc. Ouch. Plus, The Underworld changes into The Flames.

                        The Wind Guardian (Norn Peaks)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just as you end, Larc tells you to stop, and a warrior leaps out from nowhere.
Thankfully, Larc stops her. It's Sierra, who exclaims that Larc is being
tricked, and then goes away. Eventually you'll come to the Village of the
Winds. The Bird Dragoons there will try and stop Larc, but he won't be
stopped. Continue on. You'll fight a mini-boss, then move on and fight another
and another. You might get sent back the the start a few times, so use this
oppertunity to practice a variety of Techniques. Anyway, after you beat the
three guys, you'll be able to pass. You'll come to another part, four guys
show up, but Larc kills them all in one blow. Continue on and fight
Akravator. He also warns you of Drakonis's evil. Kill him, and you'll be lead
to the Mana Room. You'll get AF Dragonbone.

The Bone Dragon (The Bone Fortress)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bring Yourself, Larc and a pet/golem to the Bone Fortress. As you enter,
you'll set off a trap. Make your way around, talking to skulls and armor,
until you find your pet. Then find the place with two big buttons and a
gate. Examine a button, then head in. You'll fight Sierra, beat her, wander
around then back to the fight place, and you'll locate a key. Head back
through, using the key, and finding Larc. Find the room with three buttons and
pass through. Eventually you'll get to the Undead Dragon, and fight him.
You'll have to kill him twice, but, like most bosses in this game, he isn't
too hard. Larc will take the Mana Stone and give you AF Green Cane, allowing
you access to the final dragon.

The Crimson Dragon (The Underworld/The Flames)
                     Prerequisite: 'The Dragon Princess'
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't remember EXACLY when the change-over from Dragon Princess to Crimson
Dragon is, but it's not really relevant. Once you head into The Flames with
Sierra, you can't come out until kill the D-bomb. So, make some preps, and
head in. You need to make you way to the room gaurded by two flame spriti
guys. Fall down there, save, and experiemnt there until you kill the green
crystal guy, then the blue crystal guy, then the red crystal guy. As you
kill them, you'll be able to walk over more and more trap doors safely.
After that, head back to the two sprit door, and you can walk over it fine.
Then move on and fight Drakonis. Kill 'im, and all will be well. You can get
Larc to join you any time by going to The Underworld, which is convieniently
not The Flames anymore. You can get Sierra by going to the place where you
met Vandes. Anyway, you've finished the Dragon subquest, now! ^_^

                      The Fallen Emperor (The Underworld)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go to the Underworld alone. Follow the little spirit to the tombstone, talk to
the stone, and something will appear, saying it will test you, and the screen
goes black. You wake up in a cave. Larc greets you, tells you a little about
himself, and joins you, saying you can find out more if you go with him. Move
along, eventually you'll get to a place where Larc says that you should meet
Olbohn, controller of the undead. Keep on going, even if he says to turn back.
Once you get there, Olbohn will give you permission to be Baptised. After
being transported by Olbohn's little ghost thingy to the baptism chamber,
you will get baptised. This allows you to go farther. Move past where Olbohn
was, and eventually Larc will stop you and ask if you're ready to be tested.
Say yes, you'll fight a boss. After beating him, you'll meet Drakonis. He says
that he needs you to kill three dragons who took his power. You have to
accept. You'll leave The Underworld, and Larc will give you AF Skull Lantern.
The chapter ends.

                        Blessed Elixir (Gato Grottoes)
Prerequisite: 'Flame of Hope' or 'Nic's Buisness 3' (not sure)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go to the place in the Gato dungeon where there are two nuns and a bunch of
barrels. Talk to them, they will say a funny rabbit came and drank all of
their Elixir! Head outside, a drunken Niccolo will challenge you to a fight.
Beat him, head back in, and the nuns will tell you to find the oasis to get
some holy water to make more elixir. You need to go to Bartender in the place
where Kathinja hangs out in Geo, who will point you to The Manager in Lumina.
He'll teach you how to get a "barrel in your soul". Then head to the Duma
Desert. There's a nearly-hidden path in a room with two skeletons and a
purple spirit with blue flames. Head in there, let the barrel do the work,
and off you go!

                          The Cage of Dreams (Home)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Sproutling that was sick in front of your house is missing. Head to
your workshop. You'll find Nunuzac and Belle there. Nunuzac trapped the
Sproutling in another dimension, so that he could not become the Tree of
Mana. Afterward, head outside, Pokiehl will be there. He'll talk it over
with Nunuzac. Even though he wants the S'ling released, he says he will
pray for Nunuzac, whatever his choice may be. Talk to Nunuzac, you'll be
transported to his dimenion. Wander through the philosophically-named rooms,
until you find the S'ling. Talk to him, you'll get AF Sword of Mana, and
you'll be transported out.

Niccolo's Buisness Unusual 2 (Gato Grottoes)
                              Prerequisite: ???
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Find Niccolo in the Store here. Talk to him, get him to join you, and head to
the spot just left of the place you come into Gato. Choose to go to the
waterfall, and once you head in, he'll start picking Greenballs. After a
little while, a Faerie will appear, talk to her. After that, the Faerie will
leave. Niccolo will give you a Greenball Bun, Granz Steel, and 500 Lucre.
Another tough chapter, eh?

                    Niccolo's Buisness Unusual 3 (Lumina)
                       Prerequisite: Nic's Buisness 2
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Talk to Niccolo in the store in Lumina. He wants to go to the Mindas Ruins and
see the psychokenetic flowerling. So, take him there! Make you way past the
Monolithic thing to the back of the ruins. Niccolo will spot the psychokinetic
flowerling, say that it'd be worth tons of money, and chases it around. The
flowerling uses his powers to teleport away, Niccolo declares it a fake, and
asks you to take him to the exit. When you get there, he says goodbye, and
gives you nothing. ;_;

                    Niccolo's Buisness Unusual 4 (Geo)
                       Prerequisite: Nic's Buisness 3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Find Niccolo in Geo, take him to Watts's shop. He'll connive Watts out of some
dough, but not before you hand over a Gator Skin. Unfortunately, you get
nothing out of it, again, except for the temporary companionship of
everyone's favorite merchant rabbit.

                     Niccolo Calls it Quits? (Polpota)
                       Prerequsite: Nic's Buisness 4
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First talk to Kristie in Geo's palace. She'll talk about how she'll be broke
from the money that a rabbit is charging her for medicine. Head to Polpota,
you'll find Nic there. He won't have any memory, but the medicine will be in
his hand. Head back to Geo, talk to Kristie. Niccolo will ask very
non-Niccoloish, and give the cure over, pro bono. Head to Gato, to the bird's
nest past the cliff. Return to Geo, then to Gato. Nic will fall again, landing
again in Polpota. He'll be back to his greedy self. Since Kathrine and
company can't pay up for the final cure, Niccolo gets the mansion, and
Kathrine and Sotherbee now work for him. ^_^

                             Li'l Cactus (Home)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heh, people HATE this one. Bud is sick, and Li'l Cactus is missing. Head to
the fortune-teller in the marketplace of Dominia. She'll tell you that you
need to find Selkie in the Jungle. Selkie will tell you to find the mage in
Geo. The guy you're loking for is the one that stands outside the classroom.
He'll tell you to find David, one of the penguin pirates. Go to the
SS Buccaneer, and find David on one of the lower decks. He says he gave Li'l
Cactus the potion and sent him back with Pelican. Head to the Captain's
quarters, and tell the Captain that you don't like the ship. He'll kick you
out, head back to Domonia. Talk to Pelican, who says he delivered Li'l
Cactus, despite the prickles. Head home, talk to the Cactus-in-the-mailbox,
and you've finished the chapter.

                              Rachel (Dominia)
                             Prerequisite: ???
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rachel will be missing from Dominia at some point, talk to Mark, and he'll
tell you about it. Head to Geo on the day when Nunuzac is teaching, then go
to the library. There'll be an explosion, and suspicious Rachel will return
home to her family. Talk to Mark and Teapo and Jennifer. Eventually, you'll
go back to thier house, and the chapter will finish itself.

                             Blacksmithing (Home)
                         Prerequisite: Watts's Hammer
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Head to your Workshop, Watts will bust out of the door. Talk to him, he'll
lead you into the newly-constructed forge. He'll give you a few choices to
say to him. I got stuck here for a while, I THINK you need to ask him all
three questions in a row, then ask to stop. But I don't know. Just mess
around a bunch, eventually he'll let you go, give you some stuffage, and
be off.

                           Instruments 101 (Home)
                             Prerequisite: ???
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the young mages from Geo will appear in your workshop door, and he'll
teach you how to lure a spirit. I don't remember exactly in what order it
happens, but you'll end up luring a spirit and learn to make instruments
with metals. Not a tough chapter, certainly.

                            Golem Workshop (Home)
                           Prerequisite: Prof. Bomb
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once you head into your workshop after the 'Prof. Bomb' Chapter, the hairy guy
will lead you in, and give you a book on Golems. Read it carefully, then take
his test. It's not very hard. After that, he'll give you some stuff, and
you'll be prime for making robotic warriors of doom! ^_^

                            Mana Orchards (Home)
                         Prerequisite: Gaeus's Wisdom
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Head to the southwest exit from the screen outside your house. You'll get
atacked by some plants. After beating them, you'll meet Trent the tree, in
your back yard. Feed him some seeds, and after you come back in a few days,
pick them and put them in the bin, then talk to him and finish the chapter.

                          Monster Corral (Dominia)
                        Prerequisite: Tiny Sorcerers
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Head to the residential area of Dominia, and out the back. A young mage there
will teach you how to lure Monster eggs for raising as pets. Just lay a fruit
near the middle of the screen with the Triangle button, and walk away. The
curious lil bugger will waddle over, sniff it, chomp it down blissfully, and
honker down for a nice after-mean nap. Run up to the sleeping monster
container and snatch him. Pelican will fly in and snatch it up. The young
mage will lead you back to your home, and shwo you the territory. Then you're
all set! If you want, head to the map, wander around for a week or so, then
head back to the stable, and a kawaii lil rabbite or chocobo will hop out,
ready for love and affection! Keep good care!

                         Gilbert: School Amour (Geo)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gilbert is trying to lure the mage woman, but since she's part basilisk,
she'll turn him to stone. She needs to get her students to stop boyotting
school, so Gilbert says he will. She walks off, and when you talk to Gil,
he'll ask you to do it. Being the nice person you are, you will. Just talk
to the kids until they all say they'll go back to school. Then talk to the kid
in the store, on the left. He'll go back to school, and the chapter will
finish after a brief story moment.

                          Prof. Bomb's Lab (Junkyard)
                          Prerequisite: Infernal Doll
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Head back through the junkyard, and find Bomb. He says that his Golem has gone
awry. Head to the Jungle, and follow the trail of parts to the Golem. Beat him
up, and head back to Bomb. He'll thank you, and this unlocks Golem Workshop.

                       Watts's Hammer (Ulkan Caves)
                     Prerequisite: Mine Your Own Buisness
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This one's easy. Talk to Watts, he says his hammer is missing. Go west two
screens, and there'll be a sign. Look at it, and a Dudbear will pic you up and
race you to their den. The chapter 'Where's Putty?' will start, and Watts
little hammer will be sitting on the floor, near the top of the room. Pick
it up and return it to Watts, he'll thank you.

                              Seven Wisdoms (Home)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bud wants to see all of the wisdoms. Since one of them is dead, you only need
to find 6. Gaeus on Luon Highway is one, The Rosiotti in the Jungle is two.
Olbohn in The Underworld is three (You need to have completed the whole Dragon
Quest first). Tote the turtle is in Lake Kilma, on the cliff you jumped off of
earlier. Pohkiel is hard to find. You can find him once in Lumina, once in
Watts's shop, and you can find him in The Underworld as part of 'Diddle Had
It'. Silva is sometimes at the fork at Gato Grottoes, I'm not sure what
causes it. After finding them all, just head home, and the chapter will end.

The Field Trip (The Bone Fortress)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You need Star Sprinkles, Fairy Scales, and Silver Mushroom. Will fill in rest
later.

                     Catchin' Lilipeas (The White Forest)
                      Prerequisite: The Dragon Princess
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Time to help Skiyy and Hamson again! This time, you've got to catch Lilipeas.
What you really need to do, though, is save the Lilipeas. After saving
Lilipeas from both Skippy and Hamson, as well as releasing two from barrels,
you can head to the enterance of the Lilipean village. There, Hamson and
Skippy will give up on Sotherbee and company, and head off to create their
own legends. You enter the village, talk to Nouvelle, and talk to the
villagers. As you talk to the Lilipeas, he'll wander towards the cheif
Lilipea, with a bird on his head. That Lilipea will tell you to fight a boss.
You get transported to it, and fight him right off. Beat him, win the chapter.

General Pet Info
-----------------------------
Pets are third members for your party. There's not way to control them
directly, but you can adjust the way they grow. Anyway, to get a pet, you need
to have completed 'Monster Corral'. After that, you'll have an egg that will
turn into a Rabbite. if it hasn't hatched yet, walk around on the map for a
while. Come back, and choose to either take the lil guy with you, or to let
him graze and feed. if you've got a bunch of fruit already, you can have him
graze and feed, increasing his stats and giving him personality.

Putting food in a pet's food bin gives him or her access to stat-boosting
nutrients. Follow the chart below to see what gives you what you want.

Egg Locations
----------------------------
Luon Highway: Aerial Egg, Monster Egg
Madora Beach: Aquatic Egg
Fieg Snowfields: Dragon Egg
SS Buccaneer: Aquatic Egg
Tower of Lieres: Poltergeist Egg
Mekiv Caverns: Beast Egg
Jungle: Plant Egg
Bone Fortress: Undead Egg
Ulkan Cave: Oddity Egg (thanks beck925@cs.com!)

There are no known "demi-human eggs".

Demi-Humans
----------------------------
Sometimes you can find monster companions who are already hatched! This means
you can't name them, but it does mean you can have a companion right away!

To get them to join you, you can't have a pet with you. They'll join right up
after you talk to them. Also, the demihumans don't appear right away, it's
still kind of a mystery as to what prompts them to appear.

Here's some locations for demihumans (send me a mail to tell me any others!):

Mad Mallard: Jungle, not sure after what.
Succubus: Fieg, after Nordic Snowfields and the Jumi subquest.

       7. Golems
              +------------------------------------------------+
Overview
-------------------------
Golems can be powerful, but they're very expensive... also, planning is
important with these fellows. You can waste lots of money/equipment if you
don't use the right stuff in combos. Anyway, I'll try to list some hints
and info for making Golems.

Basically, you make a base Golem with a weapon and three armors, which
determines strength and defense and how many logic blocks (tactics) a golem
can have.

After that, you have to combine two armor/instrument/weapons to create logic
blocks. This lets your golem do thins in battle. However, depending on what
weapons you built your Golem with, you may not be able to use certianly
blocks with certain Golems.

Combos
-------------------------
Here are all the combonations of weapons/armor I've done/can see, and what
they result in. Eventually I'll be able to draw some sort of pattern from
them, but until then, here's the list.

Possible "Logic Block Laws" (email me with more corrolations you've found!)
---------------------------
The pairs of Axe/Sword, Spear/Staff, Flail/Hammer, and 2HAxe/2HSword seem to
be identical, i.e. any combo caused with a Sword is the same with an Axe of
the same material.

Combining a necklace with a Flail/Hammer results in Candy Drops.

Pink blocks seem to be usable by a Golem with any weapon, Green ones don't
work with every weapon.

Different materials have different "plus ratings", also, when combining a
2HSword/2HAxe with another 2H weapon, it gets an extra plus. When combining
different materials, the two plus ratings are averaged and rounded down.
WendelSilver has a +3 rating, Iron has a +2 rating.

Bow's don't combine with other weapons, then combine with instruments and
some kinds of armor, making different kinds of laser-like weaponry.

If the two items both have a plus rating of two or less, then the shape of the
object produced will be a 3I, 2-block, or 1-block.

of the Seiken Densetsu 3 characters! Sugoi!

Niccolo Doesn't like S'lings. ^^
-----------------------
If you have Niccolo with you and talk to the S'ling in the marketplace of
Dominia, Niccolo will respond to everything the Sproutling says with an
insult, eventually asking your opinion after you go through all of the quote
of the S'ling.

(Sorta) Rare seeds, cheap.
-----------------------
You can get some of the rarer seeds at the Bone Dungeon, after you win the
'Field Trip' Chapter. All three kinds of seeds there are a measly 10 Lucre.
Pick some up! ^_^

Sweet combos
-----------------------
If you do fairly long combos (mebbe 12 hits or so) you get a free candee to
heal yourself!
