d. Possible problems and troubleshooting
Visit Yas's Central America Flight page :flightsimmers.net/centro
First of all, thank you for downloading this scenery. Please note that this scenery is a BETA version and might have some trouble in the scenery, such as disappearing some objects, no runway at some airports, etc. There is no guarantee on the quality of this scenery.
Unless your PC is very fast one and has a good 3D video card, select "Normal" or "Dense" setting. If you select "Very Dense", then the frame rate may be very slow. You may turn off the ground objects shadow and that way you can get 2 to 3 fps better in frame rate.
The other important point is that the default Central America scenery coming with FS98 has to be turned off to get better frame rate.
This is my fifth scenery. I previously created Honduras (Hond_10.zip), Nicaragua (Nica_10.zip), and Costa Rica (Cost_20.zip) and El Salvador (ElSa_10.zip). If you have not tried them, please do so.
Please send me any comments, suggestions or recommendations to:
Any suggestions are very welcome!!!!
Note: This scenery requires "Airport texture" (txtur 202.zip) and VOD texture (vodtext.zip). If you have not installed it, please download it from http://flightsim.com/ and installed it to the main texture directory: ...\Flight Simulator\Texture.
1) In your ...\FS98\Scenery directory, create a new directory \Guatemala and in that directory create sub directories \Scenery and \Texture.
2) Unzip Gua_029.zip and move all the bgl files in your newly created \Guatemala\Scenery directory. Move the other files including this "readme.htm" to Guatemala directory.
3) Unzip texture files Gua_029ta.zip, Gua_029tb.zip, Gua_029tc.zip, Gua_029td, Gua_029te, Gua_029tf and Gua_029tg.zip and move all the texture files in the newly created \Guatemala\Texture directory.
4) That's it!
Start FS98
Click "World" then "Scenery Library".
Click "OK."
Click "Files."
Click on "add."
In the "Scenery Area Path" box, type in the path:
=:\=\Scenery\Guatemala\Scenery\*.bgl
Now, Scenery Area Title, Scenery Area Type, and active button should become active.
If not, check the path name for typle mistakes.
In the Scenery Area Name box, type
Guatemala
In the Scenery Area Type box, choose "Local."
Click the "Scenery Area Active" button to activate the Guatemala scenery.
Scenery Area Layer should be 01. If not, type "01".
Click "OK" twice to exit World/Scenery Library.
Choose, World then Go to -> airport
In the Region menu, select "Central America".
Click Scenery for FS98 (version 6) button and select "Guatemala".
You will see the airports in Guatemala.
Have a nice Flight and ENJOY!!!
