Overview/Intro
howdy, I'm mybrainhurts and welcome to my FAQ.
King Arthurs World is a fairly addictive strategy game for the SNES
The aim is to get king arthur through the level to the king (treasure
chest in training levels) at the end. To do this you must use him or
his troops to destroy enemies as well as work out how to get past
various obstacles.

Units

Knights:
These make up the rank and file of your army, They have no special use
apart from walking and slashing.
Use them to clear out most of your opponents army.

Archers:
Very weak, Will always die first hit. they can shoot at three different
angles making them useful for enemies in hard to reach places.
A fairly effective tactic when standard opposing troops are coming
towards you is to set them up in a line, set arrows at lowest
angle and fire away.

Shield men
usually die in a couple of hits but when shielding are almost impossible
to get past.
Use them to stall your enemy while you set up.

Barrel Men
Die in one hit, they are used to lay bombs which burn anything wooden
nearby i.e. Bridges, doors etc.
If a bomb is laid directly under a crusher the crusher will be
destroyed.

Engineers
The multi-task members of your army, performing many different
functions, some of which require more than one engineer, once the task
is completed the engineers involved return to camp, the different
abilities and the enginers they require are:

Build tent (4) Moves the tent to where the engineers are working, can
only be used at the green flags.

Battering ram (2+) bashes open a door. The more engineers used the
faster the door is opened, automatically uses
all engineers in group.

Catapult (3) Builds a catapult which launches flaming projectiles until
the engineer operating it is killed.

Barrel (1) engineer drops a barrel in front of them, used to make
bridges over water or spiked pits.

Tower (1) Builds a climable tower 2 barrels long and 3 barrels high,
used for getting up cliffs.

Mages: Unless otherwise stated all spells have an effect area of one
screen

White Mages
Always die in one hit, once they cast a spell they teleport back to
camp,
They have the following spells:

Healing: Restores all units to full health

Might: Increases damage dealt by troops until it wears off.

Shield: Makes all troops invincible for a short time, however for some
reason active shielders will stop when this spell is used.

Black Mages:
Same as White mages except with attack based spells:

Firestorm: Causes Fire to fall from the sky, useless as chances are one
of the fireballs will hit king arthur when he passes through.

Paralyze: Causes all enemies to stop moving for a short time.

Firebolt: Shoots a powerful flaming projectile.

Lightning: Causes lightning bolts to streak down from the sky, useless
for the same reason as firestorm.

Death: Instantly kills all weak enemies.

King Arthur
A stronger Knight, also the only unit that can pick up piles of gold and
keys. If he dies you lose.

Enemy Units:

Real World

Knights:
Purple, weaker versions of your Knights.

Stone throwers:
Die in one hit, unlike archers they aim downwards.

Magic Knights:
About twice as tall as a regular unit, frequently stop and shoots a
strong ball of energy.
use 2-3 Knights against them.

Ogre:
A Big, hard to kill, firebreathing monster. You fight it as a boss in
Level 13.
To defeat it first place some catapults near the start and put them at a
low trajectory, send your black mages out and firebolt him, then send
your archers out and aim for the head, drawing back when he gets to
close.
He should be severely damaged when he gets close to the camp where the
catapults should finish him off.

Caverns:

Goblin Knights:
Goblins with maces, Stronger then ordinary knights but still pretty
weak.

Goblin Gunners:
Small green guys that shoot weak fireballs.

Demons:
One-eyed green blobs that teleport and kill anything they hit with their
tounge.

Cloud World:

Zombies
Overly strong Knights, about twice as strong as your Knights.

Blobs
Green things that bounce around and spray slime.

Cannon Bugs
Large bugs with wizard faces and cannons on their backs who kill
anything they run into.
Use a team of archers to get rid of them.

BOSSES:

Ogre
A Big, hard to kill, firebreathing monster. You fight it as a boss in
Level 13.
To defeat it first place some catapults near the start and put them at a
low trajectory, send your black mages out and firebolt him, then send
your archers out and aim for the head, drawing back when he gets to
close.
He should be severely damaged when he gets close to the camp where the
catapults should finish him off.

Steam Hammer
A giant machine you fight on Level 17. To kill it you need to destroy
the head, three wheels and the goblins controlling it. Start by
building a catapult near the tent and set it to medium trajectory then
put a shielder in front of it, the catapult will eventually take care of
the head and the front wheel, to speed it up a bit send out a group of
archers, put them on low arrow setting so they dont get killed by the
gunners it drops, use them to destroy the other 2 wheels. Now that its
stopped moving sent the catupult and the shielder back to the tent. Send
a black mage escorted by some Knights to the machine, once under it use
firestorm, this should destroy the goblins controlling it.

Overlord
Considering this is the final boss it's suprising that almost no
stratergy is required and the only boss I beat on my first try. Simply
send a group of archers through the teleporter and start shooting on the
Highest arrow setting, when that group dies send another group out and
repeat. If you want to you can get a white mage to cast invincibility
but even without it you should win with over half your archers left.

Tactics:

Long Live the King:
Build a platform and put king arthur on it, he cant be hit and monsters
cant teleport up there.
Goblin Gunners can still burn it down though.

Artificial Wall:
Build a platform and drop barrels down the far side, you now have a wall
you can launch arrows over
and climb over when you're finished. Be careful though as sometimes the
enginieers go berserk and keep
dropping barrels on both sides making it hard to get across when you're
finished.
