1. Getting Started

Make sure that the power switch on your Nintendo 64 game console is OFF, 
before inserting the Fighters Destiny II game cartridge. Make sure that your 
controller is in the socket to the far left, and is pushed all the way into 
the connector. Player 2 can have his/her controller plugged into any of the 
others, but player one must be in the far left.
Once all of that is done, turn the power switch on, and wait until you 
arrive at the main menu screen. Here you may choose from options or the main 
game.

To save a file on Fighters Destiny II, you will need a N64 controller pack, 
which stores your game inside it. Your pack may already be full, so you may 
have to edit it, and get rid of some things to make some space.

This game is also Rumble Pack compatible, once your controller pack has been 
dealt with the game will ask if you wish to insert a rumble pack, if you say 
no, you will continue on, if you say yes, remove the controller pack and 
insert the Rumble pack.

2. Basic Controls

Highlight a Menu option:  Move up or down with the control stick.

Scroll through choices within an item:  Left or right on the joy stick.

Set the highlighted option - Press A button

Cancel a menu selection - Press B button

Move forward back, jump or duck - Control pad or joy stick.

Low Attack - A button

High Attack - B Button

Throw Opponent/escape throw - A+B buttons

Guard - R Button

Hirari (dodge) - L or Z Button

Start,pause or select settings - START button

3. Menu/Options

VS COM: You will fight with a CPU controlled player. You fight all 11 from 
the character select screen, plus a fighter named Fabien.

VS BATTLE: Fight against another human player.

RECORD ATTACK:
Survival - Defeat as many opponents as you can for the record.

Fastest - Try to clear 4 stages in as little time as possible.

Rodeo - avoid being knocked off by the cow.


FIGHTERS ARENA: Make your way through a maze of opponents, fighting and 
picking up skill sto make you a stronger fighter.

TRAINING: Here is where you will learn an practice all of your moves to 
perfection.

4. Fighting Techniques

Attack Techniques:
There are 10 general categories of attack techniques, they are:


Throw Skill:
Picking up your opponent and throwing them down to the mat for a 2 point 
gain. Each character has there own style of throwing.

Types of Throws:

Side Hold Throw   -  A+B - Basic throw down technique.

Drug down Fall    -  A+B - When your opponent is near and you are hanging 
over the side, you will grab them and thrown them down for a 2 point gain.

Jump Over         -  R,R,R - Hop over your opponent so you can attack from 
behind them.

Inashi            - L,A+B  - Grab your opponent and jump over them to attack 
from behind.

Side throw shoulder return - You will escape and retaliate from the side 
hold throw.

Upper Attack:
These attacks can cause heavy damage and strike the head and mid section, 
but it also does not give you a whole lot of blocking.

Lower Attack - Your opponent can block or jump over these, but you can also 
block better, these attacks hit the opponents lower body section.

Middle Attack:
These hit the opponents vulnerable mid section and can only be blocked by 
backing away.

Knock Down:
These include the 3 basic attacks and when you enter a knock down command, a 
blue flash appears and you are awarded 3 points for knocking your opponent 
down.

Counter:
These often involve a complex combination, but they also inflict heavy 
vitality damage.

Reel:
A high impact head butting attack.

Move:
Characters have the ability to move into the stances needed to perform there 
combinations and fight from there normal stances.

Lock:
If a character has lock ability, you put your opponent in a string lock hold 
which if they cannot escape, you are awarded 2 points.

Floating Techniques:
This is the attack, when you have knocked your opponent up into the air with 
some sort of upper attack, usually a high kick or upper cut, you can perform 
a move on them while they are still in the air.

Special:
These attacks score 4 points, but can only be used once your opponent is in 
the piyori state. These have very complicted commands.

Defense:
Here are the types of defenses:

High Guard - R button - Blocks high attacks

Low Guard - D+R - Block low attacks

Ducking - LD,D,RD - Crouch to avoid attack

Jumping - UL,U,UR - Jump t avoid an attack

Hirari - L or Z  - Dodging hi and low attacks

Side Steps - Hirari+direction - allows you to side step an opponents move.

Dash - R,R - move quickly toward an opponent

Backward dash - L,L - quickly move away from an opponent.

Throw escape - A+B - Escape a throw while the indicator is still yellow.

5. Rules and Scoring

Ring out - 1 point - Force opponent out of ring

Throw Down - 2 points - Using a throw technique to get your opponent on the 
mat.

Knock Down - 3 points - Perform this with a series of hard attacks.

Counter - 3 points - Send opp. To mat with a counter attack.

Special - 4 points - Beat them into the piyori stage, then do your special 
combo.

Judge - 1 point - have higher health when time runs out.

6. Character Guide

Saeki - Japan

A young warrior who wishes to one day become a master, has a very string 
upper body and is quite quick and agile.

Adriana - Brazil

Learned her skills in a carnival, uses dance while involving judo.

Abdul - Mongolia

>From a long line of warrios, he I rounded but vicious. He throws fireballs 
and has a couple huge headbutts.

Federico - Italy

Scientific genius who developed his painful moves in his fight laboratory.

D-Dog - USA

A basketball star banned from the game for unneccessary roughness.

Kate - England

Bored of being a super model and became a fighter, she uses a cocktail 
style, don't under estimate her though.

Ninja - Japan

Cloaked in dark, he is dedicated to becoming a fighting machine, he has 
secret powers and is a threat to any of the characters.

Ziege - Germany

He is not very fast, but his blows pack incredible force, because he is half 
man and half machine, he pummels his opponents.

Pierre - France

He was once a circus tumbler, he loves to try to freak out his opponents, he 
can mutate and have more power, and flips around a lot.

Dixon - England

Street punk who doesn't need a reason to fight. He I merciles and uses his 
anger to put incredible power behind all of his knockdown hits.

Meiling - China

Polite china girl with delicate manners and crushing power. She is extremely 
fast, and performs all of her moves with great swiftness.

Mou

The cow in the rodeo record.

Cherry

A discusting flashy fighter, she is very obnoxious, and is surely no lady as 
she claims.

Master

Overlooks you and helps you, but puts up a vicious fight.

Samurai

Helps you in the training mode, but he is a very ruthless fighter when you 
batte him.

Fabien - France

He is a french medieval knight, with and elegant yet ruthless fencing style.

7. Training Guide

Normal - Practice your basic moves and counters and reels.

Aerial - Practice mid-air combos and you'll be given suggestions.

Special - Samurai remains in piyori and allows you to do your special.

Escape - Dodge kicks and punches practice.
