The FAQ'S on
Quiz & Dragons!
By Money Dragon

This guide is NOT a walkthrough. This guide is Copyright 2001 to me,
and is intended for reference to and guidance for the above-mentioned
game. Any use of this FAQ for profit, direct or indirect, is strictly
prohibited; except by myself, which is unlikely considering this to be
my first "guide."

This is revision "0," the first copy! Future revisions will be
included in the revision chart, which would follow if there was a
chart.

By now, you're probably wondering about a few things, and I will try to
oblige your curiosity.

1.	Why did you write a FAQ for this?

Well, it is a game I like, and I have never seen any sort of guide to
the game, so I decided to give it a go.

2.	What is Quiz & Dragons?

Quiz & Dragons is an arcade trivia game. I first played this at
college back in 1993. To my knowledge, there are NO ports of this game
to any home system. If you are into classic gaming, you might find out
a bit about this.

3.	How does it differ from other trivia games?

Perhaps the best feature to the game is the fact that you can select
one of 4 characters to play the game. Here are the 4 characters, along
with a brief synopsis of the strengths of each. Pick the one that best
suits your playing style, of course, you can change characters when you
continue.

Warrior: Highest recovery rate. More on this later.
Wizard: Has a chance to change category.
Valkyrie: Has a chance to eliminate 1 or 2 choices.
Ninja: Has a chance of critical hit (double Damage)

After selecting your character, the game begins in chapter 1 of 7.
There are a total of 9 regions, but you will miss 2 during your
travels. Each map is made up of squares in a path or paths. Each
square contains a monster. The number in the upper-right corner of the
square is the monster's HP total. All paths ultimately lead to the
Level Boss. In addition to various types of monsters ranging from
Goblins to Gold Dragons and Pharaohs to Gorian, the End Boss himself,
there are also beneficial squares. Inns will allow you to recover lost
HP, while the Elf will either heal you (medicine), give you an item, or
warp you to the Boss. (I know a Shortcut)

Your turn starts by rolling a 6-sided die. Your character will move
the number of spaces shown on the die, unless you run into the Boss or
(on later levels) a Sub-Boss, which is an automatic fight. NOTE: Even
the Innkeeper and the Elf have 1 HP, which means you still have to
fight them. When a battle ensues, be ready for anything. These are
battles of the mind: the monster gives you a trivia question, and it
is your job to answer. You are given four answers, one of them is the
right answer. Get it right, and you hit the monster. Miss it, and
the monster swats you one. You have 5 HP no matter what character you
chose. You lose 1 HP each time you miss a question, and deal 1 damage
whenever you get one right. (Exception, the Ninja can sometimes "crit,"
or deal double damage to the monster.) Also, get 3 right in a row, and
you gain 1 HP back. (Warrior needs only answer 2 in a row.)

That's all there is to playing this game. Rather simple concept, just
remember, the game was made in the early 1990s, so some of the
questions are probably out-of-date. You can probably find it on MAME,
somebody's bound to have it, if you can't find it in the arcade. Here
is a listing of items I have found during my conquests. These are
given by the elf, or can be won in battle. Keep in mind, also, that
items are immediately used, taking effect in the next fight
automatically.

Ring of Speed: Slows down timer, giving you more time to think
about your answer.

Ring of Wisdom: Fun item to beat up enemies with. Just pick the
choice that flashes

Magic Scroll: Allows you to change categories, per the Wizard's
skill.

Magic Staff: Eliminates one wrong answer, leaving the right answer
and two wrong ones, per the Valkyrie skill.

That's all for now. Hope you enjoy the game as much as I did, and try
not to lose TOO many quarters in it.

Special note: No animals were knowingly harmed during the creation of
this FAQ. Also, no other FAQ's were tapped to get this info.

Any further questions? I will NOT be including the answers to the
questions in ANY version of the FAQ, so don't ask that. There are so
many questions to find in it, I could probably play for years and not
have them all. Anything else, feel free to mail me at modragon@netzero.net
