Intro
*****
Rogue Leader is an epic battle based on the original Star Wars Trilogy
movies. The game has ten main missions, but also has 5 bonus missions (to be
described later) that can be unlocked by earning points from medals you get
in the missions. Gold medals earn you 10 points, while silvers earn you 6,
and bronzes earn you 3.
If you have a bronze medal in a mission, and you get silver on it, you will
notice that you only have 6 points. Why, you ask? Because you already got
the 3 points from the bronze, so the 3 from the silver are added on. Easy
enough, right? Ok, moving on.
There are tech upgrades that can be found in each main level that can make
your ship perform better. Also, there are a few hidden ships that can be
unlocked, and there are a few passcodes lurking around. But enough with the
intro, onto the fun stuff!

Version History
***************
1.0: A boring winter break and a night on the message boards makes me decide
write this. Everything that I can think of is done.

1.1: No really big changes, a couple of grammatical changes, and that's it.

1.5: Totally forgot to put the TIE fighter in the "Secrets Ship" section.
Added that, and added two questions to the FAQ (still hasn't been posted,
just more questions that I've thought of). Also put in a "General Secrets"
section, as well as an "Oddities/Glitches" and a "General Tips" section.

1.75: Got posted onto site! Anyways, added the "In Conclusion" section, and
added to/changed just about everything.

2.0: I can't seem to get all of the things I want to update in here in one
update. Changed around the contact information, and added a bit to the
"General Tips" section

2.1 (1/6/02, 8:15 PM EST): Last update of the night, I promise! I'm starting
to keep timestamps on the header and the version history section, and I
changed the info a little bit on how to get the Naboo Fighter

2.2 (1/7/02, 4:55 PM EST): Added a bit in the bonus missions, but that's it.

2.5 (1/8/02, 8:15 PM EST): Changed around the legal information, and
basically worked on everything. New additions in a few sections.

2.6 (1/9/02, 4:45 PM EST): Added a question to the FAQ, but nothing else.
Just really bored.

2.75 (1/9/02, 8:00 PM EST): Put the ASCII art up on the top, but that's
really it. Somebody better get me away from this before I get too into it.

3.0 (1/10/02, 7:00 AM EST): I'm bored before school, so I decided to do a
quick update. Grammatical things changed, but nothing really else.

3.1 (1/10/02, 7:45 PM EST): Thanks to Mr. Cactus, I now have many new
additions to the "Oddities/Glitches" section, as well as the General Secrets
section. Finished this update with exactly 5000 words. But that's it.

3.25 (1/11/02, 5:00 PM EST): Added a question to the FAQ, but that's it.
Tomorrow will be the first day since I ever made the FAQ that I will not be
updating this (I'm going snowboarding, then football. One must have
priorities, after all).

3.3 (1/11/02, 6:45 PM EST): More level strategies. I'm very bored.

FAQ
***
Q: Where can I find _________?
A: Check the appropriate section, and if that doesn't help, check another
FAQ.

Q: Is there a master code yet?
A: No, the closest that there is to one is an infinite lives code.

Q: How can I get my Targeting Computer Efficiency up? Whenever I end the
mission it's at 0%, and it always prevents me from getting my medals!
A: Don't use your targeting computer as much, and it should get higher.

Q: What is with the car in Ison Corridor Ambush?
A: As of right now, it's just there; nobody knows what to do with it.
Somebody on the message board got the license plate characters, but those did
nothing that we know of.

Q: What is the Toydarian level, and how do I unlock it?
A: There is no Toydarian level. It is a joke made up by somebody at the
message boards, describing things normally not seen in the game (from making
the Emperor sing "Bye Bye Bye" to stealing the TIE defender and killing 300
waves of Gungans).

Q: How do I buy secret missions?
A: To unlock any secret missions, you must get at least a bronze on Death
Star Attack, the Battle of Hoth, and Strike at the Core. After that, you can
find the missions above those (with the exception of Revenge on Yavin and
Endurance, which will be next to Triumph of the Empire). Earn points by
getting medals, then when you have enough points, go to the mission you want
to unlock and unlock it.

Q: What is the points system for the game?
A: Bronze medals are worth 3 points. Silvers are worth 6, and a gold medal
is worth 10. To find out about the scoring, check the intro.

Q: If the Naboo Starfighter takes the place of the second X-wing in the
hangar, what takes the place of the second A-wing?
A: Nobody knows, but most people think that the Jedi Starfighter from Episode
II will take its place.

Q: Once I turn black & white mode on, how do I turn it off?
A: Either restart the game, or enter the code again on the passcode screen.
Either should work

Q: Is there any way to just explore the levels without the time limit or
anything and do no goals.
A: There is no real level that you can do that, but in Imperial Academy
Heist, you can fly around for a really long time.

If you have any more questions, e-mail me at Mrhal88@majorelec.com.

General Tips
************
Get all the upgrades as soon as you can. It helps greatly.
Don't hold down the fire button, but instead tap it repeatedly. Your shots
will have more power, and you will be much more accurate.
It is highly suggested that you buy the bonus missions in order, so you can
have access to Slave 1 earlier, and you can get more gold medals faster, as
Slave 1 will help you with 1, maybe 2.
Use Slave 1 in Ison Corridor Ambush for an easy gold. It also helps in
Venegance on Kotholis, but it is not needed.

************
Bonus Levels
************

--------------------
1. Death Star Escape
--------------------
A short, easy level that is fun to play over and over, but gets more and more
boring the more you try for gold. This is the only mission where you have no
control of the ship you are in. Some might remember this is as the scene
where the Millennium Falcon is escaping from the Death Star in A New Hope,
and Han and Luke take control of the turrets on the ship. You are Luke, and
you are pitted against TIE fighters coming at you from all directions. To
aim, use the analog stick and the C-stick, and to fire, use R and L. This
mission can be found above "Death Star Attack" and can be bought for 20
points.

Tips:
If you are going for gold, try to tap R and L instead of holding them down to
keep your accuracy up.
Try to memorize the patterns that the TIEs fly in at, so you have a better
chance of hitting them faster.
As long as Luke says "Just a few more left" before Leia says "We've lost
lateral controls!" then you're all set.

Accuracy Boosters:
Absolutely positively none. It's you and the TIEs here. Just shoot well,
and be patient. You'll eventually get it.

Gold Medal Stats:
Time: 1:20
Enemies Destroyed: 35
Accuracy: 16%
Friendlies Lost: 0 (impossible to lose any)
Lives Lost: 0 (if you get destroyed, you lose, so that's impossible)
Targeting Computer Efficiency: 100% (no targeting computer)

Overall Difficulty:
Completion: *
Gold Medal: ***

Note: All overall difficulty ratings are out of 5 stars, with 5 being the
hardest and 1 being the easiest.

---------------------
2. The Asteroid Field
---------------------
Kind of hard at first, but you will soon get the hang of it. If you don't
get gold in the first 2 or 3 runs, then you must really be bad at this game
(just kidding). This is by far the easiest gold in the game, and it is also
the most fun (IMO). This level is the traditional style of the game, and the
only ship you can use is the Millennium Falcon. This mission can be found
above "Battle of Hoth" and can be bought for 30 points

Tips:
The Falcon has a guided rear-mounted laser that fires automatically. To take
out the TIEs behind you easily, turn your enemy camera on, and when it zooms
out, fire until the rear laser takes out the TIE behind you. Repeat until
done.
At the end of the level, you will have to fly onto the back of an Imperial
Star Destroyer. Don't bother trying to take out any of the guns; you will
already have enough kills for gold. Just speed to the Rebel insignia on the
back of the bridge of the ship, and the mission will automatically end.

Accuracy Boosters:
You shouldn't have a problem with accuracy, as long as you use the rear
laser.

Gold Medal Stats:
Time: 4:34
Enemies: 50
Accuracy: 10% (shouldn't be a problem)
Friendlies Lost: 0
Lives Lost: 1
Targeting Computer Efficiency: 75%

Overall difficulty:
Completion: **
Gold Medal: *

------------------------
3. Triumph of the Empire
------------------------
Ah yes, the classic turning the tables on those Rebel scum mission, and it
couldn't have gotten any better. What they did was basically took the second
and third sections of Death Star Attack, and put you in the TIE Advanced X1
(you'll learn about it later). Also, you can use the TIE fighter after you
beat the mission, and you can use the Lambda shuttle after you get gold in
all missions except for Endurance (the last bonus mission). In the first
part, there are Rebel ships flying around, and you have to take them out.
Unlike most other missions, your wingmen will actually take a few out, so if
you want to maximize the amount of enemies you've killed, tell your wingmen
to flee in the beginning of the mission. In the second part, you have to
take out 3 squads of 3 rebel ships in the trench, while there are Rebel ships
outside the trench as well. The first squad will have Y-Wings, and the last
two will have X-wings. It feels good in the end to take out your own son.
This mission can be found above "Strike at the Core" and can be bought for 30
points.

Tips: Before you start this mission, get the Homing Cluster Missiles
upgrade, so your clusters actually do something. In the first part, just use
your clusters to take out all the fighters. After this, you should have
about half of your clusters left over. In the second part, use your lasers
at the ships in the trench, and when they are wiped out, get out of the
trench and dogfight with the ships out here using your clusters. Repeat, and
finish.
NEVER fire your lasers outside of the trench, as it will kill your accuracy
Note that the TIE fighter and the Lambda shuttle do not have clusters, but
the shuttle does have a rear mounted laser.
If you have any left, try to use a cluster on the last fighter in the trench,
in a race for time.

Accuracy Boosters:
Like said before, never fire your lasers out of the trench. The lasers are
inaccurate enough inside the trench, it's even worse outside of it. Use your
clusters.

Gold Medal Stats:
Time: 4:00
Enemies Killed: 32
Accuracy: 35%
Friendlies Lost: 3
Lives Lost: 0
Targeting Computer Efficiency: 100% (there is no targeting computer on any
ship except for the Lambda shuttle)

Overall Difficulty:
Completion: **
Gold Medal: ****

-------------------
4. Revenge on Yavin
-------------------
Not one, but TWO, count em TWO missions where you take the role of Vader.
Again, you have the TIE Advanced X1 at your disposal, as well as the TIE
fighter and the Lambda shuttle unlockable on the same terms as the last
mission. In this one, the Death Star has already been destroyed, so the
Emperor orders a full-out attack on the Rebel base on Yavin. What you have
to do is take out Rebel transports while not allowing them to escape. Fun,
but gets a little tedious going for gold. To get this mission, you must have
gotten at least a bronze on Triumph of the Empire. It can be found to the
right of Triumph of the Empire, and can be unlocked with 40 points.

Tips:
Use your lasers on the transports, as they are big enough so that you won't
miss. Use your clusters on the fighters lurking around.
Besides that, there are none really, just go as fast as you can, and don't go
in the hangar the first time it opens, you won't make it. Also, inside the
hangar, watch out for invisible walls.

Accuracy Boosters:
The transports should provide more than enough accuracy. Just remember to
use your clusters on the fighters, and you'll be set.

Gold Medal stats:
Time: 4:19
Enemies: 36
Accuracy: 65%
Friendlies Lost: 15
Lives Lost: 0
Targeting Computer Efficiency: 100% (same terms as Triumph of the Empire)

Overall Difficulty:

Gold Medal: ***

------------
5. Endurance
------------
Also known as hell on earth, you have to sit through 99 waves of TIE
fighters, with Lambda fighters every ten waves that give you an extra life
and Darth Vader in the TIE Advanced X1 in wave 100. There are between 12 and
36 TIEs per wave, and they start really dumb, but get smarter until about
wave 60. Very long and boring, set aside a day or so to complete. To unlock
this mission, you must have gotten gold on every other mission in the game.
This mission can be found to the right of Revenge on Yavin, and can be bought
with 20 points.

Tips:
To take out all of the TIEs effectively and somewhat safely, go head on with
the TIEs and take out as many as you can, then loop around and repeat.
Watch out for Darth Bob (the TIE fighter pilot who kamikazes into your ship
all the time. I'm sure you're familiar with him by now).
Take breaks every so often. It's important to focus.
By the end, you will have a total of 12 lives at your disposal from all the
lives you earn from the shuttles.
Good luck, and have fun!

Accuracy Boosters: Shouldn't need any, I'm not sure if it's even possible to
get beneath 8% accuracy in this level.

Gold Medal Stats:
Time: 400:00 (not a problem, you should be able to complete in about 3 hours)
Enemies Killed: 1300 (also not a problem)
Accuracy: 8% (very hard to get below this)
Waves: 99 (automatically done)
Lives Lost: 12 (your only real challenge)
Targeting Computer Efficiency: 0% (use it to your heart's content)

Overall Difficulty:
Completion: ***** (because of boringness level)
Gold Medal: * (If you don't get it on the first run-thru, you will be VERY
pissed off, I guarantee you)

Hidden Ships
************
There are 5 known hidden ships that you can unlock.

-----------------
Naboo Starfighter
-----------------
By far one of the, if not the best ship in the game, it is earned by
completing Tatooine Training at all 4 times of day (Dawn, 6:00; Day, 12:00;
Dusk, 18:00; Night, 00:00). Instead of waiting for all of these times to
come, use the internal clock feature of the Gamecube to set your clock to all
of these different times. You must also beat all ten regular missions in
order to be able to use it. The Naboo Starfighter is the second-fastest ship
in the game (inferior only to the Millennium Falcon). It has the laser-power
of the X-wing, and the shields of a Y-wing. With an onboard Astromech droid,
in-flight repairs are possible. It has dual engines that boost to speeds
greater than that of the A-wing. Overall the most well-balanced ship in the
fleet. After unlocked, can be found where one of the X-wings used to be in
the hangar. Come equipped with dual laser cannons and 6 proton torpedoes.

-----------
TIE Fighter
-----------
Your standard TIE fighter. Weak shielding and no secondary weapons, good in
groups but a sitting duck when alone. Can be unlocked by stealing it in both
the night (19:00) and day (8:00). To steal it in nighttime, go left after
the last sensor and keep going until the cut-scene. After the cut-scene,
kill the pilot of the TIE fighter (the little black dot), and a rebel
insignia will appear above the TIE fighter. Fly into it to take the TIE, and
then finish the mission. To steal it in the day, fly right after the last
sensor, and before the opening, fly over the mountain pass. Keep flying
until you reach a clear opening with nothing in it except for a communication
tower and a TIE fighter. Use your ion cannon on the comms tower, then wait
until the TIE fighter takes off (you might need to ionize it). After it
takes off, hit it with a bolt from your ion cannon, and it will land, putting
a rebel insignia above it. Fly into it to steal it, and then finish the
mission. Comes with dual alternating laser cannons.

-----------------
Millennium Falcon
-----------------
The fastest ship in the game, but has poor maneuvering and turning. Can be
unlocked by earning bronze medals in all ten regular missions of the game.
Comes with decent shielding, but no in-flight repairs, plus the bulky size of
the ship make avoiding obstacles difficult. Comes equipped with dual laser
cannons and 5 sets of 4 concussion missiles.

-------
Slave 1
-------
The poorest ship in the game, has less shielding than the A-wing, is slower
than the Y-wing and less maneuverable than the Falcon. Can be unlocked by
earning silver medals on the first ten missions and the first two bonus
missions (Death Star Escape and the Asteroid Field). The ship is huge,
making it hard to avoid obstacles. Comes equipped with weak dual laser
cannons, and 20 cluster missiles (quite possibly the only good part about the
ship).

---------------
TIE Advanced X1
---------------
A cross between a TIE Interceptor and a TIE bomber, this ship has some speed,
half-decent shielding, and lots of maneuverability. Can be unlocked by
getting all 15 golds. Great for quick attack runs against ships, it is the
ship used by Darth Vader. Comes equipped with two alternating (lousy) laser
cannons and 20 cluster missiles (great addition)

*************
Tech Upgrades
*************
There are ten tech upgrades that can be found in the ten main levels of the
game. These upgrades enhance the performance of your ship. After you find
them, you must finish the mission to get the upgrade. They look like little
white things with a blue tint to them. They are shaped kind of like a cone.

------------------------
Advanced Shields Upgrade
------------------------
Found on Death Star Attack. In the beginning of the second part of the
mission, go down to the surface and veer slightly left. Keep going until you
get it. This upgrade puts a blue ring around your shields at the beginning
of each life that allows you to take more hits until you die.

---------------------------------
Advanced Proton Torpedoes Upgrade
---------------------------------
Found on Ison Corridor Ambush. Right at the beginning, go down and you will
see a piece of debris with a passageway through it. Go through this to get
the upgrade. This gives your Proton Torpedoes a bit of an extra punch.

-----------------------
Advanced Lasers Upgrade
-----------------------
Found in the Battle of Hoth. After you see the cut-scene where the AT-AT
destroys the shield generator, fly back to where it was to find the upgrade.
This gives your lasers pore power than before.

---------------------------------
Advanced Cluster Missiles Upgrade
---------------------------------
Found in Prisoners of the Maw. After you take out the second group of guard
towers, fly in a straight line towards your objective. On the way you should
see a comms tower with a dome next to it. Bomb the dome, then go down there
to pick up the upgrade. It gives your cluster missiles extra power.

----------------------------
Advanced Proton Bomb Upgrade
----------------------------
Found in Razor Rendezvous. Right in the beginning speed to the back of the
front end of the Star Destroyer to find a Lambda shuttle. Take it out to
find the upgrade. Gives your proton bombs more power.

-----------------------------
Homing Proton Torpedo Upgrade
-----------------------------
Found on Vengeance on Kotholis. On the left side of the bridge of the Star
Destroyer, there is a passage through. Go through to get the upgrade. Makes
your proton torpedoes seek a target of your choice. To use, tap B once to
bring up a targeting reticule. To lock on to a target, point it towards an
enemy. When there is a red circle around it, you are ready to fire. Tap B
again to fire. To do a dumb fire, tab B twice. Note that you can't lock on
to sub-targets on Star Destroyers, such as shield generators, but you can
lock onto the guns on it.

------------------------------------
Advanced Concussion Missiles Upgrade
------------------------------------
Found during the day on Imperial Academy Heist. There are four hangars in
the area of the shuttle. The hangar to the right of the hangar (if you are
facing away from the center of the complex) holds the upgrade. Gives your
concussion missiles an added boost.

---------------------------
Spread Proton Bombs Upgrade
---------------------------
Found during the night on Imperial Academy Heist. Found in the opposite
hangar from the upgrade found in the day (to the left of the shuttle, facing
away from the center). After you drop a proton bomb, an extra cluster of
five or so bombs that are non-powerful shoot out from the impact site. These
extra bombs do NOT affect your accuracy, so don't worry.

----------------------------------
Homing Concussion Missiles Upgrade
----------------------------------
Found in Raid on Bespin. After you are done with the first platform, you
will go to a set of 2 platforms with a cruiser near one of them. Blow up the
cruiser as soon as you get there, and the explosion will destroy a few of the
nearby Tibanna gas canisters. Where some of these were will be the upgrade.
Same rules apply as from the homing proton torpedoes.

-------------------------------
Homing Cluster Missiles Upgrade
-------------------------------
Found in Battle of Endor. After you take out the left Star Destroyer, let it
angle towards Endor a bit, then fly through the hangar to (hopefully) pick up
the upgrade. For this, you do not have to select a target; these
automatically track the closest target.

-----------------------------------
Advanced Targeting Computer Upgrade
-----------------------------------
Found in Strike at the Core. When you are going in to the core, there is a
series of pipes in the lower right corner that act as a kind of tunnel in the
last corridor before the core (it's after the vertical sections). Go through
the pipes until you pick up the upgrade. Makes it so that you don't have to
hold down Y to keep your targeting computer up. Also, you can assign your
wingmen to specific targets using the C-stick and the command cross.

General Secrets
***************
In Ison Corridor Ambush, there is a car floating around behind and below the
last transport in the nebula. It serves no real purpose, except for crashing
into you if you don't expect it.
In Strike at the Core, make it to the core, but turn around and start to fly
out. You will get a clip of the Death Star destroying a rebel ship.
In Razor Rendezvous, to complete the mission faster, kamikaze into the
command deck of the star destroyer. You will not get credited for a death,
and you will end the mission.
In Battle of Endor, you can take out the two star destroyers without taking
out the shield generators first by ramming into the command deck. This only
works if you did not lose a life in the first part, or you have the infinite
lives code on. Do this to both, and they will go down. Now just evade TIEs
until the Admiral gives the signal, and you're all set.
Slave 1's homing cluster missiles lock on to friendly targets too, so be
mindful of that.
On all Star Destroyers, there are only two shield generators. The one on
bottom is actually the reactor.
If you look closely, you will notice that the interceptor fires from the
cockpit, while there are no laser cannons there. No use really, but still
interesting.
In the asteroid field, try to fly above the asteroids.

*****************
Oddities/Glitches
*****************
In Battle of Hoth, there is a floating Rebel soldier out on the battle field.
In Death Star Attack, if you crash into a beam in the trench and your wingmen
are close enough, they will fly right into the beam, and get all glitchy.
In the hangar, if you hold up on the control and c-stick, and you constantly
tap X, you can walk thru walls.
In any level, if you crash right before a cut-scene, and you are not re-
spawned before the cut-scene starts, you will come back with full shields.
In Endurance, if you pick the Slave 1 you have to pull up right away or you
will crash into a gun tower. This happens because of the size of the ship.
If you die while the repair icon is up, it will stay there. Don't use it
once you start your new life, or you will actually lose shields, and lose the
ability to repair your ship.
In Battle of Endor there are a lot of cut-off lines during cut-scenes.

Cheat Codes
***********
There are a few codes out fore the game, however, most are useless. But I
will still list them all, just in case. The confirmation for all of these
codes is R2-D2 beeping.

EXHIBIT! - Unlocks the art gallery
BLAHBLAH - Unlocks the audio commentary
LIONHEAD - Unlocks black & white mode
COMPOSER - Unlocks the music hall
THATSME! - Plays the credits
?INSIDER - Unlocks the documentary
JPVI?IJC - First part to the infinite lives code (R2-D2 will not give
confirmation)
RSBFNRL - Second part to the infinite lives code. Must be entered right
after the first part (R2-D2 will give confirmation).

More will be posted as they appear.

two things:
1: Send me an e-mail at Mrhal88@majorelec.com. DO NOT send me spam, or it

Rogue Leader, as it is easy to confuse this with my other FAQ.
2: Make a topic on the Rogue Leader message board. Try to only use this
option when you have feedback or have spotted an error that I missed, and
make sure to address it to me.
I am open to constructive criticism. I am NOT open to flames. Be mindful of
