Who would have ever imagined that the PlayStation can simply be played in a
car? I sure didn't. I bought the PS one LCD Screen and it works like a charm. I
have tested several of the screens, but this FAQ is for the official Sony one,
the Pelican PS one Screen and the Interact "Square" Mobile Monitor. I have
tried all these and once I try all the different screens, I will add them to
this FAQ.

5. COMPARISONS OF SCREENS
=========================

This section uses a grading system to rate how the screens fare against each
other. It will use STARS (*), letter grades (A-), and number grades (1-5). The
most stars, the highest number and the letter grade closest to A is the best.

PICTURE QUALITY
+++++++++++++++
The Sony Screen looks clearer than the other 2. The Pelican screen flickers
after 20 minutes of gameplay, which shows defectiveness and low quality
durability.

SOUND QUALITY
+++++++++++++
The Sony Screen sounds SLIGHTLY clearer than the Interact Mobile Monitor. The
Pelican amazingly sounds clear and fluid, but not NEARLY as good as the Sony
Screen.

SIZE
++++
The Pelican Screen is the biggest of the screens and the heaviest. Not good for
portability.

POWER USAGE
+++++++++++
The Sony and Interact Screens use MUCH less power than the Pelican Screen,
which requires 2 adapters and shuts the radio off in your car. Very bad.

DURABILITY
++++++++++
The Sony and Interact Screens have long lasting screens. The Pelican Screen
turns dark and loses color after a few days of use, even hours or minutes. I
had to return my Pelican screen because of its crappy durability.

COMPANY MAKER
+++++++++++++
Sony is the best, but only gets a B because their PlayStation-related items
have been known to be defective. But they are better than the terrible memory
cards and controllers Interact and Pelican offer.

PRICE
+++++
The Sony and Interact Screens, which offer better quality, are $10 cheaper than
the crappy Pelican screen. Since the SOny one is considerably better (and
compatible) with the PS one, go with that one instead.

SCREEN SIZE
+++++++++++
The Sony one is 5 inches, while the rest are only 4 inches. The bigger screen
offers more quality, as you can see smaller objects a lot easier.

AESTHETICS
++++++++++
You gotta admit, the Interact one is ugly. The Pelican actually looks pretty
good. The Sony one looks SOOOOOOOOO slick, cool and classy, like a laptop
computer.

OVERALL
-------
The Sony Screen is the way to go. It is cheap, beautiful, durable, stylish and
official.

=================
6. PSONE HARDWARE
=================

Sony's PlayStation remake took a whole new look. It was smaller, uses less
power and looked cooler. It was dubbed the PS one, because Sony also released
their magnificent PlayStation 2 (PS2) at the same time.

Here is the low down on the PS one.

-Double Speed CD Rom
-Custom Multiple Processors for 3D graphics and CD stereo quality sound
-Full frame video at 30 frames per second
-16.8 Million simultaneos colors
-360,000 polygons per second
-Dedicated 32-bit RISC CPU
-2 MB of RAM
-1 MB of VRAM
-Made by Sony
-Released September 2000
-Loaded with over 100 games

This is required to utilize the portability of the LCD Screen.

================================
7. USING THE VARIOUS LCD SCREENS
================================

SONY LCD SCREEN
---------------

Using the screws, attach the screen to the PS one. Connect the corresponding
cables. Plug the Car Adaptor/PS one adaptor to a plug outlet and turn both the
screen and PS one on. Now you get to play your favorite PS one games on the
road!

INTERACT MOBILE MONITOR
-----------------------

Using the screws, attach the screen to the PS one. Connect the corresponding
cables. Plug the Car Adaptor/PS one adaptor to a plug outlet and turn both the
screen and PS one on. Now you get to play your favorite PS one games on the
road!

PELICAN PS ONE SCREEN
---------------------

Using the screws, attach the screen to the PS one. Connect the corresponding
cables. Plug the Car Adaptor in your car or both the PS one adaptor and the
separate Screen adaptor to a plug outlet and turn both the screen and PS one
on. Now you get to play your favorite PS one games on the road!

===================
8. THE BATTERY PACK
===================

Available now only from Interact, the LCD Screen won't require car power of a
good 3 hours. It is $49.99 and attaches to the bottom of the PS one. Powers
both Screen and PS one (it depends on how much power the screen uses to
determine time).

NOTE: IT CANNOT BE USED WITH PELICAN PS ONE SCREEN BECAUSE IT USES 2 DIFFERENT
AC ADAPTER PLUGS.

=============================
9. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
=============================

Q: Is the LCD Screen worth it?
A: Yes it is. PS one during long drives is worth the penny.

Q: How much is the best one?
A: $129.99, the Sony LCD Screen is the best.

Q: What ever happened the the Pelican one?
A: Well... it was crappy, so to say. So I guess they pulled it from shelves.

Q: Will it play all my current PS one games?
A: Yes, though games that run prewtty fast might not be too good for the screen
(like Tekken 3).

Q: Should I get the Battery Pack?
A: I suggest not, because playing the PS one on a plane or train is not really
worth it. That is what the GameBoy Advance and WonderSwan Color are for :P.

Q: Who makes the PS one and official PS one Screen?
A: Sony.

Q: How big is the Official Sony Screen's Screen?
A: 5 inches.

Q: Does the Screen support S-Video?
A: No.

Q: Must I buy the new PS one just to get the PlayStation to work in my car?
A: Unless you own a trailer, yes, only the PS one will be portable in the car.
For $199.99, noth the screen and PS one are worth it.

Q: Should I get a PS2/GC/XBOX/etc. or a PS one with the Screen?
A: I'd get a new console. The LCD Screen doesn't add much new to the system
except for mobility and portability.

Q: Do we need new accessories for the PS one (i.e. memory cards, controllers)
A: No.

Q: Do VCRs/DVD players/other consoles work with the Sony Screen?
A: Yes, but they aren't portable.

Q: Should I go with the 3rd party brand LCD Screen?
A: No. The Sony one is simply better.

Q: Are there any reported problems with the Sony screen?
A: Nothing I have seen.
