Please note that this FAQ is for the Japanese, PlayStation version of
EB. Some of it may not pertain to your version if you're playing the
(as of yet unreleased) Japanese PS version of EB.

However, most of the names for the Digimon used in this FAQ are the
names used in English, since I am too lazy to look up all the Japanese
Katakana. You could contribute a list of the Japanese names, if you
want to.

FOUR METERS BELOW
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
During battle, you can should be able to see four meters: two on your
opponents, and two on yours. On either side is a picture decipting one of
the two fighting Digimon, and nested in the middle in the time.

The lower meter, which starts out full with a red bar, is the life meter,
while the smaller, upper meter, which starts out empty, is your Digivolve
meter. Your life meter empties when you get hit (logic), and you Digivolve
meter is filled up if you succesfully damage your enemy, or are damaged by
it. Assuming you are using a Digimon that can evolve, the words 'EVO' are
indicated. Pressing R1 will Digivolve you, and in your evolved form, the
Digivolve meter will slowly deplete. If you are using a Digimon that
can't evolve (or already evolved), you can use your GC attack when your
Digivolve meter is full, depleting it (if used by an evolved Digimon, it
can be used at any time, but it still uses up your whole Digivolve meter).

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
GC ATTACK? WHAAZAT?
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
My friend Smiley Warhead calls it a special attack. Basically, it is a
powerful attack that depletes your Digivolve meter. It does INCREDIBLE
damage. It's only downside is that you are very vulnerable when attempting
to do a GC attack, and if you are hit, you've wasted your whole Digivolve
meter.

  2. MENU EXPLANATIONS
=========================================================================

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
THE FIRST MENUS
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
The first menu you see will probably be the 'No Data Found' Menu. Just
choose the second option twice.

After pressing start at the screen where 'Digimon Temasu(Tamers)' is said,
you will be presented with 6 menus. The first three are green, the next two,
labelled ??? are orange/red, and the last is blue.

These are what the menus stand for (more or less):
Green--- Arcade Mode
Green--- VS Mode
Green--- VS COM
Orange---Bonus VS COM
Orange---Bonus VS 2P
Blue--- Options

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
OPTIONS
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Remember that the first answer is for yes and second for no. Is there
anyone out there kind enough to translate the list?
+Difficulty - Easy, Medium, Hard
+???
+Time - 99 or infinite
+???
+Save
+Load
+???
+???
+Password Entry?

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
CHARACTER SELECTION
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
You'll be greeted by a very *cute* Digimon. I don't understand what it's
rambling about too. Anyway, you'll only have 9 Digimon to choose from
if you've just started. There are 15 spaces with a question mark inside.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
UNLOCKING BONUS GAMES
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
It seems that bonus games are unlocked after you play them in arcade mode
(between the fourth and the fifth round). I am not sure if you unlock the
bonus game even if you lose it. But games that you have not played are
not unlocked.

=========================================================================
  3. CHARACTER MOVES LIST
=========================================================================
* = Name made up

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
AGUMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
The season one favourite (along with Gabumon) is here, along with Tai
(Taichi).

Partner: Tai (Taichi)

Evolves to: Wargreymon

T attack- Cross Fire
He bites once, twice and the jumps to finish with a last bite
O attack- Pepper Breath (air)
Normal projectile attack

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
BEELZEMON (BLAST MODE)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Demonic, winged, and with a gun. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Evolves from: Impmon

T attack- Slash*
An upwards slash, blue in colour.
O attack- Blue Shot*
A shot with its gun.
GC attack- Double Impact
A 'path' comes out of Beelzemons hand. Anything in this 'path' is hurt,
and a large fireball comes out following the path. The only downside of
this attack is that the 'path' knocks down the opponent, making the large
fireball miss it.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
BLACKWARGREYMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Made from 100 control spires, and fueled by hate, BlackWarGreymon (aka
ChaosWarGreymon), one of the worst enemies.

T attack- Black Tornado (Air)
It spins, following the direction you specified. Can be done twice in a
row, and you can change the direction again, even the opposite one.
O attack- Dragon Killer
A downward slash, followed by an upwards slash. The attack has a nice
range.
GC attack- Terra Destroyer (Air)
The only difference WarGreymon's Terra Force and the Terra Destroyer is
that you don't jump before attacking, and it seems to be a little smaller.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
GABUMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Agumon's buddy, along with Matt (Yamato).

Partner: Matt (Yamato)

Evolves to: MetalGarurumon

T Attack- Horn Attack
A headbutt at about NNW/NNE angle
O attack- Blue Blaster (Air)
Normal projectile attack

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
GALLANTMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Gallant as a knight, and looks like one too.

Partner: Takeshi

Evolves from: Guilmon

T attack- Upwards Spiral* (Air)
It spirals upwards. IMHO, a good close range attack.
O Attack- Royal Saber*
It dashes, and then slashes.
GC Attack- Grand Cannon*
It fires a straight beam from its shield.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
GATOMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Kari (Hikari) of season one and two's Digimon.

Partner: Kari (Hikari)

Evolves to: Magnadramon

T Attack- Lightning Paw
Gatomon rushes to the opponent. If it succeds, the rush becomes an
uppercut
O Attack- Cat's Eye (Air)
A few projectiles with an O shape come out of Gatomon's hands for a short
range.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
GOKUMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
The boss. Like Apocalypse in Marvel vs. Capcom, not really that strong.
Its T attack tends to make him fall.

T attack- Slash2Dash*
It does 2 or three slashes, and dashes. Usually falls out of stage though.
O attack- Pyro* (Air)
He starts a fire directly in front of him.
GC attack- Burning Tornado*
He spins and spins, creating a tornado. Take care as to not be sucked in.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
GUILMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
A season 3 rookie, my friends know nothing about it. Well, they know
it's partener is named Takeshi...

Partner: Takeshi

Evolves to: Gallantmon

T Attack- Rock Breaker
It spins towards the opponent, it's tail burning.
O attack- Pyro Sphere (Air)
Normal projectile attack

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
IMPERIALDRAMON (FIGHTING MODE)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
He is considered to be near the strength of Omnimon (especially since the
two DNA to become Imperialdramon Paladin Mode)

Partner: Davis

Evolves from: Veemon

T Attack- Shining Blade
It does a kick, which is followed up with a slash.
O attack- Positron Laser (Air)
A more powerful version of the normal Blue Blaster.
GC Attack- Mega Fire
Some martial arts, followed up by Mega Fire.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
IMPERIALDRAMON (PALADIN MODE)
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
The doubly evolved version of Imperialdramon (Dragon Mode), in truth it
should be from it's Fighting Mode DNA-Digivolved with Omnimon. Yet, it's
partners are Davis and the Digimon Emperor (Ken). Who cares?

Partner: Ken (Digimon Emperor) and Davis

T attack- Shining Blade
Kick, Slash. A solid attack.
O attack- Postiron Laser (Air)
Same old, same old.
GC attack- Shining Sword*
Like Imperialdramon's (Fighting Mode) GC attack, it does some martial art
moves, but instead of doing Mega Fire, it knocks the opponent upwards and
finishes with a sword strike, exploding where it meets the opponent.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
IMPMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Impmon is a terrible imp of a Digimon; he delights in picking on anyone,
especially if they are helpless. Reminds me of the Jersey Devil in the game
Jersey Devil.

Evolves to: Beelzamon (Blast Mode)

T attack- Ice shot*
Three shards of ice appear a little way from Impmon, and fly straight
forward. If charged, the three little ice shards may amount to a 20+
combo. (Thanks to Black Throat for the info)
O attack- Fire shot* (Air)
Impmon fires a small fireball with its hand.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
MAGNADRAMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Magnadramon is a large, ten winged dragon Mega with unbelievable fire
attacks.

Partner: Kari (Hikari)

Evolves from: Gatomon

T attack- Dragon Breath*
Steam comes out of your mouth. Close range, but I'm not sure about the
damage.
O attack- Holy Fire (Air)
A large, blue projectile attack that spirals outwards.
GC attack- Fire Tornado* (Unblockable)
An area on the ground is 'marked' and if the opponent is in that area,
Magnadramon will somersault and lightning bolts will rain down on the
opponent.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
MEGAGARGOMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Looks more like a champion than a mega. For an evolution of a good
fighter, it's quite weak.

Partner: Henry

Evolves from: Terriermon

T attack- Whack*
MegaGargomon does a karate chop, and if the enemy is succesfully knocked
down, MegaGargomon throws it (if it didn't move- got hit while jumping)
O attack- Giant Missile (Air)
Two missiles are fired from his shoulders. These missiles home in, though
they start losing accuracy after a short period. It pushes you back when
you do it in the air.
GC attack- Multiple missiles*
Unlike MetalGarurumons GC attack, the missiles explode a short way from
MegaGargomons body.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
METALGARURUMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Metal version of Garurumon.

Partner: Matt (Yamato)

Evolves from: Gabumon

T attack- Garuru Tomahawk
Firing some missiles, it somersaults back.
O attack- Freeze Breath (Air)
It fires a Blue Laser. It seems this laser needs some time to recharge.
GC attack- Giga Cross Freezer
A lot of missiles come out of MetalGarurumons body. You might have seen
this in the Digital card battle intro. These missiles home in on the
enemy.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
OMNIMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Strangely, you can use this to fight Gabumon, MetalGarurumon, Agumon or
Wargreymon even though they share the same trainers.

Partner: Tai (Taichi) and Matt (Yamato)

T attack- Transcend Sword
Downward Slash followed by an upward slash. Its range is slightly longer
than the sword though.
O attack- Garuru cannon/Supreme cannon (Air)
Omnimon fires a blue shot with his Garurumon hand.
GC attack- Double Shot
My friend Smiley Warhead says it's Omnimons weakest attack in the card
game. But still, I tested it and it took around 45% health.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
PATAMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Weak in my opinion, seems to have a powerful evolution.

Partner: T.K. (Takero)

Evolves to: Seraphimon

T attack- Slam Attack*
Patamon jumps toward the opponent. If it connects, Patamon will continue
attacking using its ears to push it upwards and as weapons.
O attack- Boom Bubble (Air)
Patamon fires a small bubble. It's hard to see if you have bad eyesight,
and it doesn't look that strong either.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
RENAMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
A personal favourite, Renamon is good in the hands of someone who knows
how to use it. First course of action: Run to a place where you won't be
attacked that easily. Then teleport, and unleash the fury of a Diamond
Storm.

Partner: Rika

Evolves to: Sakuyamon

T attack- Teleport*
Renamon changes places with the opponent. When done correctly, this
confuses the opponent long enough to unleash a diamond storm
O attack- Diamond Storm/Koyousetsu (Air)
A attack that takes time. A green light appears in front of Renamon,
followed by lots of diamonds. You can aim it three ways: straight,
down-forward, up-forwards. You are quite vulnerable when doing this,
but if you are attacked when all the diamonds haven't come out, the
diamonds that have will still shoot forward. This attack doesn't knock
down opponents, but stuns them for a short while.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
SAKUYAMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Stylish, in a purple getup. It's attacks seem to be blue spirit dragons.
Strangely, its GC attack works best when the opponent is very close,
even though Sakuyamon seems to be a close range fighter.

Partner: Rika

Evolves from: Renamon

T attack- Vajra Mandala (Air)
It lights a blue fire on the ground. Spirit dragons come out of that
flame and return, their trails making a spherical shape. If done in air,
it attacks downwards instead of forwards
O attack- Blue Dragon Wave*
4 spirit dragons come out of its hand. You can control hem using the
D-pad. They return if attacked or after a certain time has passed.
GC attack-Land Trap*
Powerful. A circle of writing appears on the ground after you jump up and
mark a place with your staff. If your opponent steps onto the circle, it
will be rendered immobile. After some time, al large ball (centering
Sakuyamon will appear, hurting anything in its path)

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
SERAPHIMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Seraphimon is the ten winged Mega form of Patamon. It is said he is
covered with the armor of Heaven.

Partner: T.K. (Takero)

Evolves from: Patamon

T Attack- Holy Sevens (Air)
Shot at a 45 degree upwards angle. If done in air, shoots downwards.
O attack- Hallowed Knuckle
Average evolution projectile
GC attack- Sevens Heaven
You've got to be right *next* to the opponent for this to succeed, if you
do it elsewhere it just looks like a useless kick. Causes lightning to
strike your opponent from above. Bloody powerful in my opinion.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
STINGMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
It is hard to believe the gentle Wormmon turns into the deadly Stingmon,
but it is true. Be careful with this Digimon--he has an extremely short
temper, and can be a merciless killer. The only champion evolution.

Partner: Ken, Digimon Emperor!

Evolves from: Wormmon

T attack- Spiking Strike (Air)
It dashes with a spike coming out of its hand. If done in air, attack is
done at a 45 degrees downwards angle.
O attack- Moon Shooter (Air)
Average evolution projectile. If done in air, attack is done at a 45
degrees downwards angle.
GC attack- Hot Squeeze/Evil Antenna
A close range attack that isn't too powerful, but eats up HP.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
TERRIERMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Rabbit-like, Terriermon is a season 3 Digimon. It was also in the Digimon
movie. A good fighter, especially if you can beatifullt do a T to O attack
- and follow up with another T attack.

Partner: Henry

Evolves to: MegaGargomon

T attack- Terrier Tornado (Air)
Terriermon spins, moving upwards and forwards. A great attack which catches
the opponent off guard.
O attack- Bunny Blast (Air)
A normal projectile attack.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
VEEMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Veemon is a mythical Digimon that brings good luck to his friends.

Partner: Davis

Evolves to: Imperialdramon (Fighting Mode)

T attack- Boom-boom punch
Veemon attacks by spinning both its hands, moving forwards as it does do.
O attack- Vee Headbutt (Air)
Veemons headbutt. If used in the air, this attack is done at a 45 degree
downwards angle.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
WARGREYMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
One of the better evolutions, WarGreymon is blessed with the powerful
Terra Flare.

Partner: Tai (Taichi)

Evolves from: Agumon

T attack- Great Tornado (Air)
WarGreymon spins its body in a lying down way. Can be done twice in a row,
in any one of the eight major directions.
O attack- Dragon Cutter
Computer opponents are easily tricked by this attack. Upwards slash,
downwards slash.
GC attack- Terra Force (Air)
Immensly powerful. WarGreymon jumps up, Creates a *GIGANTIC BALL*, and
hurls it at the enemy. Seems to be unblockable as well.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
WORMMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
The Digimon Emperor's Digimon, it's O attack has a short range, and it's
so slow. It's saving grace is it's extremely useful T attack.

Partner: Ken, the Digimon Emperor

Evolves to: Stingmon

T attack- Random Roll (Air)
It spins 540 degrees, using some of it's antenna as a sharp blade
O attack- Silk Thread (Air)
Wormmon shoots it's silk at you, and if it connects (which isn't likely,
since it has such a short range) the opponent will be trapped in a cocoon
for a short time.

  4. BONUS GAMES
=========================================================================

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
DIAMOND KICK*
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
You use a ball like in Hoop Kick (see below). However, this time, you can
move. Your targets are the diamonds that appear above your head. There
are three types of diamonds, red, yellow and green. I haven't found out
what the differences between them are though.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
HOOP KICK*
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Press and hold [] to make a ball appear. The longer you hold the []
button, the more power you hit the ball with. You have to try to make the
ball enter the hoop, which sounds easy, except that the hoop is being
moved around by the Digimon that greets you at the character select screen.
You have to make 8 succesful shots, but I'm not so sure about that.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
PUNCHING BAG*
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Tap [] repeatedly to fill up the meter. If you can fill it faster than
your opponent, you win. If you are using a Digimon that can evolve,
it evolves when the meter is full.

+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
FIGHT BLACKWARGREYMON
+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+-----+
Never lose a round. I'm not sure if this includes the bonus round, though.
On your second last level, he'll be your new challenger. He uses the same
moves as WarGreyMon, but his GC attack seems different. I don't know what
happens if you're using BlackWarGreymon though.
