2: Quick Tricks
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  Quick tricks are exactly as their name says. They are tricks that
don't take any time to do or let go and are perfect for using when
tricking between manuals and grinds, and for when you don't have enough
air to do anything great.
  The "X" button is used for these. Pressing "X" and a direction will
do a quick trick, and most of these can be held for more points. Use
them wisely, that is, save them for street riding, for tricking between
grinds and manuals, and to add an extra multiplier after doing Special
tricks while in the air.
  The list below shows the different quick tricks, their point values,
and if they can be held. A "*" indicates that it can be held longer for
more points.
Barspin - 150
Truckdriver (done by spinning a Barspin) - 350
Toadstool* - 500+
No Footer Switch Hand* - 400+
No Hander* - 300+
Double Seatgrab* - 500+
One Handed X-Up* - 225+
X-Up* - 200+
Lookdown* - 200+
One Footer* - 200+
No Footer* - 250+
Nothing - 800
Neil Armstrong* - 300+
Nothing Seatgrab* - 500+
No Handed One Footer* - 500+
3: Big Air Tricks
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 Big air tricks are those tricks which are made for vert riding and are
done while high in the air. They all can be held for more points, by
holding down the "B" button, with the exception of some like the
Pendulum, Backflip, Flair, and Tailwhip.
     The "B" button is used for these tricks. They take longer to do
than quick tricks and therefore should not be used after doing a simple
Bunnyhop (jump) on the ground. Use these to get your Special meter full
quickly.

The list below states all the big air tricks in the game along with
their point values. A "*" after a trick means that it can be held
longer for more points, and in case you didn't know, the + indicates
that you can get more for than trick's value stated below by holding
it.

No Footed Can-Can - 500
Front Peg Grab* - 500+
Indian Air* - 400+
Rocket Queen* - 420+
Superman* - 500+
Tailwhip - 700
Backflip - 1000
Flair - 2000
Pendulum - 500
Indian Air Superman* - 500+
Rocket No Hander* - 450+
Can-Can - 250
One Hander One Footer X-Up* - 700+
One Hander One Footer* - 500+
Indian Air Seatgrab* - 400+
Rocket One Footer Candybar* - 600+
One Handed Can-Can - 400

  Spinning grabs (or any air trick) adds a multiplier to your combo,
and of course, holding grabs greatly adds to your base score. Your base
score is the sum of all your tricks done (in a single combo) added
together. For example, if you did a Superman off a kicker worth 3500,
landed in a manual and held it for 1000 and finally went up a pipe and
did a Flair worth 2000, your base score would be 3500 + 1000 + 2000
(6500). Your multiplier is the amount of tricks done; each trick adds a
multiplier. So, the same combo worth 6500 would be 6500 times 3, since
you did 3 tricks. Spinning also adds to your multiplier, and works as
follows:
180 spin - 1.5 x base score
360 spin - 2 x base score
540 spin - 3 x base score
720 spin - 4 x base score
900 spin - 5 x base score
1080 spin - 6 x base score

4: Grinds, Stalls and Plants
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Grinding is done with the "Y" button and involves your pegs sliding
across rails or edges or lips of pipes. Just jump or ride over to the
lip and press "Y" to grind. Every character has the same grinds and
grind controls, as well as stalls, but plants differ per character,
with the majority doing Foot Plants.
             A stall is where you stay perched on the lip of a pipe or
sometimes a rail, balancing on the pegs. Ride straight up the ramp
towards the lip and press the direction and "Y." Keep tapping left and
right to balance while either grinding or stalling. As far as I know,
the Toothpick, Icepick, Smith, Feeble and Double Peg are the only
grinds with stalls too, since I've never done a Crooked stall. But you
tell me.
              Plants are the same principle as stalls except they can't
be (or need to be) held, balanced and you can't fall from them. They
keep the action going fast. Basically, a plant is when a rider hits the
lip of a ramp and jumps off it back onto the ground. The rider uses a
part of his body (hands or feet) to stall on the lip while swinging the
bike around. You can keep combos going relatively easily with these by
landing in a manual.
                  Also remember that while in a stall, to go into a
grind, jump, do a Quick Trick, and land in a grind.
Grinds, Stalls and Plants
Toothpick (Y or up-Y) - 175+
Smith (left-Y) - 200+
Feeble (right-Y) - 200+
Icepick (down-Y) - 150+
Crooked (up/left-Y) (diagonal) - 250+
Double Peg (up/right) (diagonal) - 125+
Foot Plant (down/right) (diagonal) - 350
Disaster (down/left) (diagonal) - 1000
Hand Plant (down/right) (diagonal) - 450
Foot Plant 360 Tail Whip (down/right) (diagonal) - 500
Double Foot Plant (down/right) (diagonal) - 450
5: Linking Tricks
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Manuals and Nose Manuals are the real names for wheelies and nose
wheelies. Press up, then down for a manual, or down, then up for a nose
manual. They aren't worth a lot of points, but keep your combo going
along the ground. When jumping off a rail, your combo doesn't have to
end there; just land in a manual by pressing up and down. Watch your
balance meter carefully though.
                Now here's a trick I figured out by myself to keep vert
tricks going, a kind of revert like in Tony Hawk 3. As you're in the
air, coming down, press up, down or down, up and you'll manual the
second you land, meaning that all the tricks done in the air will be
part of your combo. For example: 720 Peacock + manual + 540 Front Peg
grab + nose manual + Barspin...
              See, I did the Peacock Special in the air, pressed up,
down, before I landed, did a manual, went up the next side, my combo
still going, did a 540 Front Peg grab, did a nose manual... So this means
huge base scores. Just watch your balance very carefully.
                 Now, while in a Toothpick grind or stall, pressing
left and Y will transfer to a Smith grind or stall, and while in an
Icepick grind or stall, pressing right and Y will transfer to a Feeble
grind or stall. As far as I know, these are the only grinds that can be
transferred into.

6: Getting the Scores

Vert

Pro Score Required: 30,000

From the start ride down the rolling and into the halfpipe. Do a big
spinning grab and land. Follow up with another spin again to get your
special meter full. Now go the other side, do a Special, do a manual on
your way down to keep the combo going and go over to the other side and
finish with a Plant or a Stall. Since the score is so low, feel free to
take any lines you want to finish here. In truth, a 720 or 900 Peacock
alone can give you over 30,000, similar to Rune's Christ Air in Tony
Hawk 1.
                Check out the 2 bowls, and session the quarterpipe that
lines the whole side of the level. For some dirt jumping, grind the lip
around the bowl behind where you start and trigger the big gray lever.
Now hurry over to the door before it closes.

Street
~~~~~~
 Start off with a Backflip slightly to the left and land in a grind on
the lip of the halfpipe. Grind to the end and leap off with a 360 grab
trick and land in a manual. Manual over to the quarterpipe lip and
grind it. When you reach a part with a kicker or something like that
connecting to the pipe, leap off with a Quick trick and grind that.
Jump off with a manual if your balance persists, and go over to the
open bowl. If you can, grind the lip or finish with an air. If you
grinded the lip, go all the way around, snag the point bonus and leap
off into a manual and finish in the quarterpipe with an air trick. Now,
of course, you don't HAVE to do all this, this is just an awesome way
to start. Another good line is a Backflip down the rolling from the
start into a manual and go up into a grind. From there, grind the lip,
and leap off with a Quick trick to the lip below and grind it.
Pro Score Required: 50,000
 Start off by getting a couple thousand in the pipes near the trailers.
When you're done there, there are two good ways to go. You can launch
up (hold up) to the grassy area near the Secret Cover and then fall
into the large concrete halfpipe below or go up the concrete ramp with
a full Special and launch off with a huge spinning Special grab trick
and land in the halfpipe below, or you can head past the trailer and
launch off the dirt mounds with spinning Front Pegs or any trick of
your choice and link everything together with manuals.
         After you finish with the mounds, try to be in a manual, and
grind up the pole leading up to the nice bowl area. Bunnyhop into
another grind on the lip or jump off with a Backflip into a manual and
soar up into the skies to finish. Finish getting the points here,
session the pipes around the bowl area or head to the next area and
finish there. Remember, vary the tricks you do for the quickest
pointage.
Street
~~~~~~

  Start off with a Backflip onto the first trailer and land in a
manual. Grind the pipe leading across to the other trailer and manual
at the end. When you reach the end, do a Tailwhip or another Backflip
and manual again. Launch up off the first mound and do a grab trick. If
you can, manual over to the bowl rail, doing Quick tricks between
manuals. Grind up into the bowl and grind the lips and do stalls for
points. You can get the "Hi Low-Reign Terror" gap, worth 300 points, by
grinding the pool.
               When you're done, grind the rail going out of the
pool/bowl and go right over to the other area. By now, if you don't
have the points already, finish vert style in the halfpipe below. Do
your aerial Specials to get the extra you need in a snap.

London Underground

Vert
~~~~
Score Required: 60,000
 Start with a Quick trick into a grind down the handrail and jump with
another Quick trick into a manual before the end. Manual over to the
funbox and launch up high into a stall or grind on the other funbox for
the "London Calling" gap. Now there are piped surrounding this whole
area. You can very easily get the 60,000 here, but don't forget the
great vert in the other rooms. Use your high air to launch up to the
pipes and grind them for gaps. Remember to do manuals.
Street
~~~~~~

 Start exactly the same as in the vert until you get the gap. Now head
over to the rail before the escalator and grind it, making sure that
you have your Special. Grind the rail, manual off, and air off the
escalator with a 360 grab or quick trick and land in a grind on the
rail. At the end, hop off with another trick and land in a manual.
Carry it over to the short kicker and launch off, hopefully landing on
the pipe above. If not, land in a manual and do a few combos. You can
finish getting the points, if you don't already have it, in here.
