 .: STORY LINE :.
For the first time in gaming history, a puzzle game has a half-decent plot line! Dum dum dum!
It may be a bit cute, and Nintendo seems to be stuck on the paper cut-out characters (Paper
Mario must have sold too well ... great game), but it's still a storyline.

Dr. Mario (it seems like a completely different person from Mario) is needed since it's flu
season. The evil viruses (Red, Yellow, and Blue) have struck and only his Megavitamins will
kill them and cure the helpless patients.

Wario, being as jealous as always, wants the fame of doctor and tries to steal the bottle of
Megavitamins from Dr. Mario. However, he fails. Another sneaky character named Mad Scienstein
snatches the bottle of Megavitamins. Dr. Mario and Wario chase after them and meet up with
many new characters (well, a lot of them are from Wario Land games) along the way. The question
is why Mad Scienstein wants the Megavitamins.

 .: GAME BASICS :.
Very little has been changed from the previous three titles. The bottle (your playing field)
contains Red, Yellow, or Blue. To win, you must destroy these viruses. Vitamin capsules, or
pills, will drop from the top of the bottle and slowly fall. You control them. They have two
sides, each with a different color. They are either red, yellow, or blue. They can be mixed or
a pill can be one solid color. Your goal is to match them up with the viruses in a row or
column and they'll disappear. Match them up four-in-a-row/column and they'll vanish. The
viruses count as part of the row/column. For example, to make one virus disappear, it only
takes three pills. To make two viruses that are touching disappear, it only takes two viruses.
There are never three or more viruses of the same color touching. You can turn the pills with
A or B to make them fit in places. Once all of the viruses disappear, you win!

 .: ADVANCED GAMEPLAY :.
This is where the new features come in. Now, you can perform combos. Say you make a virus
disappear, which makes some pills drop. The pills drop and make other pill(s)/virus(es) dis-
appear. This is called a combo. This counts as a 2x combo. When you perform a combo, your
character will say something like "Yes!" or "Woo-hoo!" to indicate it. Plus, you get more
points. It's not possible to get more than a 4x combo.

But I'm not done yet. When battling against a computer character, performing a combo will drop
garbage pills on them. If you did a 2x combo, 2 single pills (not double sided) will fall on
the opponent's playing field in the most inconvenient spot it can find. If you do a 3x combo,
3 pills. If a 4x, you get four pills. Like I said before, it's not possible to get a 5x or
higher combo. These garbage pills may seem like nothing, but they can be very annoying if they
land on a virus that you were about to destroy. Sometimes, very rarely, the garbage pills will
help and make a virus or a stack of pills disappear.

But, how do the garbage pills work when battling more than one opponent, you ask? Well, let me
explain. If you do a combo, the first color of pills cleared determines it. If you did a 2x
combo and the first color of pills cleared was blue, then the garbage goes to the player one
bottle to the right. If it was yellow, then it goes to the player two bottles to the right. If
red, it goes to the player three bottles to the right. If you clear two colors simutaneously
(e.g. destroy a red and blue virus at the same time), then it will go to the player one bottle
to the right and the player three bottles to the right. It can be hard to work with these odd
rules, but that's how it works.

 .: TIPS & HELPFUL ADVICE :.
 - Try your hardest to work with every single pill you have. It's very frustrating to get rid of
excess pill pieces over a virus. Say you have one virus left. It's blue. On top of it is a
yellow pill, then red, blue, blue, yellow, red, red, blue, yellow. It is very hard to get to
that virus. I have lost matches because of this. Try you hardest to prevent this from happen-
ing. If it does, try to find another ways to get to the virus before eliminating the main
problem, because the main problem takes longer.
 - Garbage pills can be very annoying. They usually cause the above problem. Try your best to
   work around them.
 - It's important to do combos. Not only do they annoy the opponent with the garbage pills, which
mess up their combos and stuff, but the pills take so long to drop that it slows them down and
gives you a chance to catch up.
 - Try to always have a garbage pile. If you get an uneccessary pill, plop it out of the way
so it won't cause any confusion.
 - You can't get much benefit from destroying capsules by themselves. You can combo them, but
I always try to eliminate the viruses and fast. Looking fancy doesn't cut it when you're
trying to beat the computer, and eliminating capsules w/out viruses doesn't give any points.
It can still combo, but what's the use if no viruses are destroyed? This just wastes time.
 - Don't always try to destroy a virus with an above column. Try rows across to them (for
example, VIRUS PILL PILL PILL). Also, if you have a big mess above a virus, try to elimi-
nate it from below (look at the other example with your head turned over to the left :P).
It may feel awkward to eliminate them differently, but it really helps.
 - Comboing is very important. It eliminates viruses faster, drops uneccessary pills on the
opponent, and slows them down. It's really important for winning, but don't do it to look
fancy (e.g. destroying capsules w/out viruses).

 .: ONE PLAYER MODE :.
 The main attraction!~

 Classic
 -------
This is the original Dr. Mario game. You clear stages one by one by clearing the viruses. Each
stage is harder than the last, with more viruses and sometimes slightly more speed. You can
set the stage at the level select screen, along with the speed and music. This mode never ends.
You just keep repeating stages over and over again.

 Story
 -----
Please see Section 1-A for the story line.
In this mode, you follow the story line as either Dr. Mario or Wario and battle different
characters on the quest. There are normally only eight stages. You can select the difficulty
setting (Easy, Normal, or Hard). Also, the game saves your stages so you can continue if you
lose or quit. Here are some slight strategies.

 == DR. MARIO'S QUEST ==
 Round One - Wario
Wario is really simple. Though he can unleash a lot of garbage if you play for too long, he
usually loses from a high stack. Just finish to get this match over with.

 Round Two - Spearhead
Spearhead is just a tad more difficult than Wario was. He doesn't usually combo, but he will
when he gets the chance! Combo and just get rid of the viruses before it gets ugly.

 Round Three - Webber
Webber's match is when the game develops some difficulty. His specialty is combos, so be care-
ful here. Like I said before, concentrate on destroying viruses more than looking fancy.

 Round Four - Silky
Silky is similar to Appleby; he's tough. He'll appear to be ahead near the start, but he'll
nag behind later. Just keep playing and try to ignore him the best you can.

 Round Five - Jellybob
Thank God this sea creature doesn't play like Octo does! I'd lose from laughing. Jellybob
plays like an ordinary character; just use similar strategies.

 Round Six - Helio
Helio's got one big head, so you better work on popping it! He can be frustrating at times,
but just play like always and you'll do fine.

 Round Seven - Hammer-Bot
Grr, I hate Hammer-Bot. He will lose from a high stack if you combo often, but otherwise, he'll
be doing the comboing. He is one tough cookie, but don't give in!

 Round Eight - Rudy
Rudy is hard. He's the last boss, so he's meant to be hard. Don't worry about getting gigantic
combos; just try to win and don't get stuck with a virus in the corner of a pile of pills. I
lose so many times from this!

 Bonus Round - Vampire Wario
If you managed to defeat Rudy without losing at all through the entire game, you play against
Vampire Wario. Vampire Wario is very tough, since you have to beat him without losing to make
him playable. Just use similar strategies as for the other characters.

 == WARIO'S QUEST ==
 Round One - Dr. Mario
Like battling Wario in Dr. Mario's quest, Dr. Mario is very simple. He'll unleash terror if you
let him, so just finish quickly and proceed with the game.

 Round Two - Spearhead
Spearhead is just a tad more difficult than Wario was. He doesn't usually combo, but he will
when he gets the chance! Combo and just get rid of the viruses before it gets ugly.

 Round Three - Webber
Webber's match is when the game develops some difficulty. His specialty is combos, so be care-
ful here. Like I said before, concentrate on destroying viruses more than looking fancy.

 Round Four - Appleby
Appleby can be tough. Don't be discouraged if he pulls ahead; he always gets a little ahead at
the start but will nag behind later. Just concentrate on winning; ignore him.

 Round Five - Octo
Octo is tough. First off, his playing style is very odd. He will turn his pieces constantly,
which will probably break your concentration (I lost from laughing too much). He is actually
very good, and he loves to combo. Try to ignore his odd playing strategies and just go for the
 gold!

 Round Six - Lump
Lump isn't too difficult. He usually loses from a high stack against me. Try some combos and
ignore him and you should do fine.

 Bonus Round - Metal Mario
If you managed to defeat Rudy without losing at all through the entire game, you play against
Metal Mario. Metal Mario is very tough, since you have to beat him without losing to make
him playable. Just use similar strategies as for the other characters.

 * If you play as GUEST, your progress won't be saved. Do this when you are trying to unlock
   Metal Mario and Vampire Wario.

 VS. Computer
 ------------
This mode lets you freshen up on your skills against a computer player. You can select any
character and play against any character. Nothing very special here. Just basically practice.
You can change your/their virus level and speed. You can also select the music and stage.

 Flash
 -----
In this original game mode, your goal is to destroy only the flashing viruses. You can destroy
non-flashing viruses, but you win by destroying all of the flashing ones. The computer plays
differently in this mode, targeting the flashing viruses more than normal ones. This mode is
rather tough, but it's fun to have a change. You do the setups before the match like you would
 in VS. Computer mode.

 Marathon
 --------
Yay! An endless mode. In this mode, you keep playing until you lose. This is the mode to see
how long you can last and how high of a score you can maintain. There is no way to win, so
don't get angry if you lose eventually. In the magnifying glass beside your bottle, you'll
see Red, Yellow, and Blue moving clockwise in it. When one of them reaches the top of the
magnifying glass, a new row of viruses appears at the bottom of the bottle. In other words,
the stack rises. If you perform a combo, the 3 viruses will stop moving momentarily. Oh, and
by the way, you can manually make the stack rise by pressing L or R.

 Score Attack
 ------------
A.K.A. Time Attack. In this mode, you have 3 minutes to try and get an incredibly high score.
You can win on this mode, but it is rather difficult. If you don't clear all of the viruses in
under 3 minutes or your stack rises too high, you lose. Try to get a higher score with combos.

 .: TWO PLAYER MODE :.
 Two controllers required!~

 Two Player VS.
 --------------
This is like VS. Computer, except two opponents battle each other. The same rules apply.

 Flash
 -----
Like the One Player Flash, except there are two players battling each other.

 Score Attack
 ------------
You have 3 minutes to see who can get a higher score or finish first. Same rules apply.

 .: MULTIPLAYER MODE :.
You can play this with one controller to four controllers!~

 Four-Player VS.
 ---------------
Four players battle each other at the same time! In order to fit all four bottles, they were
decreased in size so pill and virus sprites were shrunk. Also, the characters do not talk any-
more, which I don't understand. It makes it rather boring if you ask me. Please see Section 1-C
for an explanation of how to drop garbage pills on your opponent(s).

 Team Battle
 -----------
Interesting concept, if you ask me. Players 1 and 2 are Team A, 3 and 4 are Team B. The game
ends when one of the team members clear all of his viruses or both team members' stacks get
too high. Dropping garbage pills here is a little confusing, but here goes!

You now have "Team Banks." If you do a combo and the garbage pills go to your partner, then
they are stored in your Team Bank. Your bank can hold up to four pieces of garbage pills at
once. The garbage deposited in the bank will be saved and used in your or your partner's
next combo. For example, if you have 2 pills saved up and your partner sends 2 pills to the
opponent, then the 2 pills from the bank will be added to drop 4 pills. No more than 4 pills
will be sent at a time. Also, garbage sent to a retired opponent will just vanish and cannot
be used. It's hard to follow at first, but you'll get it eventually.

 Flash
 -----
This is just like all of the other Flashes, except with four players.

This section just gives brief information about each character, since there isn't anything
but brief information about each character. The only difference in them is their difficulty.
They are all the same when YOU play as them, but when they are computer controlled, they have
 different difficulty levels.

 .: DR. MARIO :.
 DIFFICULTY: ****---

This game is home to some secrets, though none of them help you but are for Dr. Mario veterans
out there. Want more difficulty? Try some of these cheats.

 UNLOCK SUPER HARD MODE
 ----------------------
As if we really want it, huh? It's really easy, actually. Go to Story Mode and highlight Hard.
Press Z and it will change to S.Hard Mode (not permanent). S.Hard Mode is VERY DIFFICULT! How-
ever, if you manage to ACTUALLY win, you are only rewarded with a Congratulations message.
 Big friggin' whoop-dee-doo.

 UNLOCK METAL MARIO
 ------------------
In Story Mode, play as Wario and beat Normal, Hard, or S.Hard Mode without losing once. After
defeating Rudy, you'll battle Metal Mario. Beat him without losing at all and you'll be able to
play as Metal Mario in VS. modes. Using the "Redo" option on the pause menu counts as losing.

 UNLOCK VAMPIRE WARIO
 --------------------
In Story Mode, play as Dr. Mario and beat Normal, Hard, or S.Hard Mode without losing once.
After defeating Rudy, you'll battle Vampire Wario. Beat him without losing at all and you'll be
able to play as Vampire Wario in VS. modes. Using the "Redo" option on the pause menu counts as
losing. Note that unlocking these two characters is VERY HARD!

 CHANGE COMPUTER A.I. DIFFICULTY
 -------------------------------
As if we really want this too, eh? In a VS. mode, when you are selecting a computer's character,
