cannot be used for profitable purposes (even if no money would be made
from selling it) or promotional purposes. It cannot be used in any sort
of commercial transaction, or be given away as some sort of bonus, gift,

prohibited. Furthermore, this FAQ cannot be used by the publishers,

It cannot be used in magazines, guides, books, etc. or in any other form

mentioned) in ANY way, shape, or form (including reprinting, reference

 specifically mentioned in this FAQ.

This FAQ was written for GameFAQs (www.gamefaqs.com) only. I don't want
it to be put up on any other web site and am not above explaining this
to your ad banner guys or whoever else I can get ahold of if you decide
 to violate this disclaimer.

To continue, this FAQ and everything included herein is protected by
the Berne Copyright Convention of 1976, not to mention International
Copyright Law. Remember that plagiarism is a crime, and that this is a
copyrighted work--stealing from this guide is putting yourself at risk,
plain and simple, because the law is on my side. I feel the need to
mention that the following publishers/publications have ripped from me
in the past, namely: the Ziff-Davis Video Game Group (publishers of
EGM, Expert Gamer, etc.), Future Publishing, Ltd. (publishers of
PlayStation Power, Official UK PlayStation Magazine, etc.), IDG Media,
and Game 13th. If you want to show your appreciation for having this
nice free FAQ to read, please do so by not reading any of these rags
(if I sound like a bastard, it's because I am). The same applies to
the jerks at Game Cave for selling my FF7 FAQ. These guys are
overpriced and have bad service anyway, there are much better places
 to shop online.

The KoF series and all other characters are (c) SNK of Japan.

they have a cool KoF 2000 section (in addition to other stuff).

Right off the bat, I would like to state that I haven't played KoF '00
yet, and virtually all of the information in this FAQ has been taken
from SNK of Japan's page and simply transcribed into English, as their
English section has a lot less info. in it than their Japanese page
does. Anyone who would like to contribute is encouraged to do so; you
can reach me at <kmegura@yahoo.com>. Any comments or criticisms should
be directed to that address as well.

 [ Other Notation ] ----------------------------------------------------

dir. : Any of the eight directions can be used: u (up), d (down)
b (back), f (forward), ub (up back), uf (up forward)
db (down back) or df (down forward).
qcf : Roll the joystick from d to f (d,df,f)
qcb : Roll the joystick from d to b (d,db,b)
   hcf : Roll the joystick from b to d to f (b,db,d,df,f)
   hcb : Roll the joystick from f to d to b (f,df,d,db,b)
+ : Press in the last direction listed and press the button
listed afterward at the same time (so qcf + P means to
press d,df,f, and the moment you press f, press A or C).
   / : Either command can be used (i.e., b / f + B means you can
press back or forward while pressing B).
   P : Press A or C.
   K : Press B or D.
PK : Press all buttons at once (for example, BC means to press

DM : Desperation Moves (usable when you have one Power Gauge
             stock).
SDM : Super Desperation Moves (usable when you have three Power
             Gauge stocks).
(S)DM : Either DMs or SDMs can be used.
   ub~uf : You can use up-back, up, or up-forward.
a-u : You can use any direction but up-back, up, or up-forward.
Charge : Hold in the listed direction for 2 seconds, then push the
             joystick in the second direction.
(air) : The move can be performed while on the ground or when
             jumping or otherwise airborne.
delay : Holding down a button delays the move being performed.
"ranbu": This is just a catch-all term for all moves that act like
the Ryuuko Ranbu; namely a series of rapidly-executed
             attacks.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bonus Striker Attack Press BC after a normal throw (costs 1 stock)
 Taunt Press Start
Strike Bomb Replenish Press Start when you have 1 stock

 - Note that when you do a vertical Small Jump, any Punch or Kick you
perform comes out as if you had jumped diagonally instead.
 - The Throw Escape only works on normal throws (b / f + C / D when
close). It won't work against air, special move, or (S)DM throws.
 - When you do the Counter Mode activation, your opponent will get
knocked down, but apparently they don't take any damage.
 - If you have less than five strike bombs, and you have at least one
Power Gauge stock, then when you taunt, you lose the Power Gauge
stock, and get an extra Strike Bomb instead. What's more, you
cannot cancel the taunt animation, unlike previous KoFs.

 ========================================================================
 2. CHARACTER MOVELISTS
 ========================================================================

Characters are listed in the order in which they appear in the Character
Selection screen. The character bios were taken from the English bios
at SNK's KoF 2000 page, but wherever the English and Japanese bios
differed, I included both entries, using [usa] and [jpn] to denote
which one was which. Kyo and Iori's bios were taken from the Japanese
versions (as no English version is available), and the "occupation" and
"personality" entries for Seth and Vanessa were taken from the KoF '99
Evolution CD jewel case. I have also added some stuff and corrected
errors in the bios where applicable.

Movelists are arranged in this order; normal throws, command attacks,
then special moves, then Chou Hissatsu Waza (Super Deadly Arts, aka DMs)
and finally, MAX Chou Hissatsu Waza (MAX Super Deadly Arts, aka SDMs).
Afterwards is a list of that character's Striker Attack, and who their
 other Striker character is.  Finally, there is a list of supercancels;
these are the moves that can be canceled into a DM when Counter Mode is
 active.

 - The Dangerous Arch and Maxima Revenger are unblockable.
 - The Bunker Buster can hit both on the way up, and on the way down.
On the way down, though, it is an overhead attack. While the (A)
version cannot go behind your opponent, it's possible to arrange it
so that the (C) version makes you fall just behind them, forcing
your opponent to block in the opposite direction or take the hit.
 - Maxima's crouching C, standing far C, standing close C, and standing
   CD all have autoguard.

 - The Hyouchuu Wari is an overhead attack. If you cancel into it, it

 - The Joudan Uke and Gedan Uke cannot normally hit anyone. Instead,
if you are attacked during either move, you will automatically block
the attacks and continue forward. The Joudan Uke will block high
attacks and jumping attacks, while the Gedan Uke will stop low
attacks, but not if they're too low (like most crouching D sweeps).
 - The Mouko: Raijin Setsu is an overhead attack.
 - Both the Kohou Shippuu Ken and Tenchi Haou Ken do much higher damage
   on a counter hit.
 - SNK's page lists Ryo's Gedan Uke as "d + B", which I'm inclined to

 - The Nidan Sokutou Geri hits low. If you cancel into it, you can
cancel the last hit into a special move or (S)DM.
 - The Sen'en Renbu Kyaku is unblockable, and you can juggle your

Supercancels: Oni Guruma, Ko'ou Ken, Mouko: Burai Gan
(Mouko: Burai Gan is only cancelable on 2nd hit)

 - The Oni Guruma and Keima Uchi are knockdown attacks. If you cancel
into them, they become cancelable, but no longer function as
   knockdown attacks.
 - The Kawara Wari is an overhead attack. If you cancel into it,
it becomes cancelable, but no longer functions as an overhead.
 - The Hisha Otoshi can destroy most normal projectiles. If you
cancel into it, it becomes cancelable.
 - The Keima Uchi can hit an opponent lying on the floor.
 - Thanks to his long-range Kou'ou Ken, Takuma is one of the few
characters who can actually do a full-screen fireball combo; throw
an LP Kou'ou Ken, then do a (C) Ryuuko Ranbu, and the whole mess
will combo. You can follow with a Keima Uchi for added punishment.
 - The Mouko: Burai Gan will make an opponent drop his guard on the
2nd hit. This is very useful in Counter Mode, since you can cancel
the second hit into a Ryuuko Ranbu and have it combo.
 - The Shouran Kyaku is an unblockable attack.
 - Although the Shin Kishin Geki can only be done from up close, it's
possible to have the hits miss. Luckily, each hit makes an opponent
drop his guard, so if they avoid your Shin Kishin Geki and attempt
to block the remaining hits, all subsequent blows after the hit that
drops their guard will connect fully.

Supercancels: Moon Slasher, (B) Ground Saber, Gliding Buster,
X Calibur, Earring Bakudan 2: Heart Attack

 - Regarding the supercancels, the Mirage Kick is cancelable on any hit
except the last one. The Mirage Dance is only cancelable on the
   first two hits.
 - The Strike Arch is an overhead and a knockdown attack. If you cancel
into it, it becomes cancelable, but loses both original properties.
 - You can combo off of the Baltic Launcher, or even use a Striker, your
special moves, or (S)DMs while your opponent's getting hit.
 - The Earring Bakudan 1's arc can be altered by using the Heart Attack
(even if it misses). Using a (B) Heart Attack changes the arc so
that the earring bounces; using a (D) Heart Attack changes the arc
back to normal. Remember, this will work even if the Heart Attack
misses or is blocked. The Earring Bakudan can either be a high or
low attack, depending on how low the earring is to the ground when
it makes contact with your opponent.
 - The Heart Attack is blockable, but once you hit an opponent with it,
the earring clings to their clothing and can be seen gleaming. Once
enough time has passed, or if you use the Kibaku command, the earring
will explode. However, it is more advantageous to wait for the
earring to explode, as using the Kibaku makes Leona pose and prevents
you from comboing off of the explosion.
 - Furthermore, an opponent hit by the Heart Attack cannot block until
the earring explodes, or is removed (this can be done by hitting Leona
with an attack, even if it is blocked). Since Leona covers before
her opponent does (and because of her opponent's inabilty to block),
you can attack your opponent right after landing the Heart Attack,
and there's nothing they can do about it. However, while the earring
is attached to your enemy, you cannot use the Earring Bakudan 1.

 - If you perform the Kyuukouka Bakudan Punch (Chijou) from up close, it
can hit on the way up, but not on the way down.
 - The Super Argentine Backbreaker and Galactica Phantom are unblockable.
In addition, the SDM Galactica Phantom has autoguard.
 - The Ralf Kick does more damage the longer your charge it; it maxes out
after holding any Kick for about eight seconds. While charging the
Ralf Kick, you cannot dash, backstep, use special moves, or (S)DMs.
If you have a free button, you can still use rolls and body blow
attacks (rolls if you're charging with D, body blows if you're
charging with B). However, it seems as if doing these delays the
charge time. Also, note that you can't charge two Ralf Kicks at once
by holding BD. If you're hit or you block an attack while charging,
or if you use either of Ralf's normal throws, then the charge time
   resets.
 - The Super Argentine Backbreaker is unblockable.
 - The Galactica Phantom is an unblockable attack, and it has autoguard.

 - You can use the Flashing Elbow after the Napalm Stretch,
Frankensteiner, Super Argentine Backbreaker, or Sleeper Lift.
If your opponent is too far away, you'll run up but won't elbow

 Striker Action: Valkyrie Shot
 Another Striker: Chris
Supercancels: Boomerang Shot, Strings Shot A-C
(all cancelable only on the first hit)

 - The Strings Shot A through C can actually be supercanceled out of
just before the first hit connects.
 - It's possible for the 2nd hit of the Boomerang Shot to miss, but if
it doesn't Whip will fling her opponent across the screen.
 - The Assassin Strike can hit on the way up, and on the weay down.
The button used for this move determines where you come down (A is
closest, D is furthest away). Keep in mind that this is relative to
your location, so if you're in the far corner of the screen, using
A-D all put you in the same place.
 - The second hit of each Strings Shot has a special property. Type A
(Yuuetsu) is an overhead attack, while Strings Shot B (Chikara) drags
your opponent closer to you. Finally, Strings Shot C (Shouri) is a
low-hitting attack. You can delay any of these moves by holding down
the proper button, and can cancel them by pressing D while delaying
   any Strings Shot.
 - Whip's crouching A can hit someone on the floor, if you've got your
spacing right. It works well after a crouching D sweep, or a normal
   throw.

 Another Striker: Athena
Supercancels: Psycho Ball Attack, Psycho Sword, Phoenix Arrow,
Nu Psycho Reflector (only on the first two hits)

 - The Phoenix Bomb can be canceled into a special move or (S)DM. Unlike
some mid-air command attacks, it must be blocked standing.
 - The Renkan Tai can be canceled into a special move or (S)DM on the 2nd
   hit only.
 - The Psychic Teleport can be used to move forward, or to move through
   your opponent.
 - An enemy who is hit by the Psycho Shoot is knocked up into the air.
The (C) version is too fast to combo after, but you can juggle an
opponent if they're hit by the (A) version.
 - The Psycho Reflector and Nu Psycho Reflector can both reflect most
long range projectiles, both normal and (S)DM types!
 - You can cancel the Shining Crystal Bit, by pressing ABCD during the
move. During this move, Athena randomly shows up in her old 'Athena'
style bikini--if so, the move does more damage (this doesn't apply to
the Crystal Shoot), and you won't get knocked back if this attack is
   blocked.
 - You can hold P or AC (depending) to delay the Crystal Shoot. On
the ground, the (C) version flies upward, and in the air, both types
fly diagonally downward, then go horizontally above the ground.

 - The Kobokushu is an overhead attack. If you cancel into it, it

 - The Kousentai can be canceled into a special move or (S)DM.
 - You can juggle an opponent after knocking them into the air with
either the Ryuu Renda or Senkyuutai. In addition, the Senkyuutai
   has autoguard.
 - When you perform the Chouryuu Renken, Kensou makes three punch
attacks. However, if the first hit misses, even if the other two
punches hit, Kensou won't do the rest of the 'auto-combo' part of
   this move.

Ryuurin Hourai, Rigyo Hanhou, K.T. Kuutotsu Ken

 - Regarding the supercancels, the (A) Ryuurin Hourai is only cancelable
on the first hit, and the (C) Ryuurin Hourai and (C) Gouen Shourai:
Kai or only cancelable on the first four hits (since afterwards, Chin
leaps into the air). Although the Rigyo Hanhou hits twice on a
counter hit, it can be supercanceled out of on either hit.
 - The Suiho Hyoutan Shuu is an overhead attack. If you cancel into it,
it becomes cancelable, but no longer functions as an overhead.
 - The Hyoutan Geki can negate normal projectiles.
 - The Shihai Kou does no damage, even though it can hit an opponent.
After using this move, you cannot use the Shihai Kou or Ryuuren
Hourai; attempting either move results in either the Fun'en Kou or
   Gouen Shourai: Kai, respectively.
 - You can cancel the Suikan Kanou or Bougetsu Sui by pressing ABCD
   during the move.
 - Using the Suikan Kanou makes Chin invincible to certain types of
attacks. The (A) version makes him immune to low attacks, while the
   (C) version makes him immune to mid-level and high attacks, jumping
attacks, and projectiles (plus, it lasts longer). Chin can still be
   injured using throws, though.
 - Using the Bougetsu Sui makes Chin lie on the ground, so he can only
be hit by low attacks. This also allows him to lie under (or move
under) most projectiles. He is not invincible though, and can still
   be thrown.
 - During the DM Gouran Enpou, using (A) makes Chin blow a stream of
fire diagonally upwards, while (C) makes the stream go horizontally.

Supercancels: Psycho Ball Attack: Raise, Front, Bound
                   Psycho Ball Crash: Raise, Front

 - The Soushou and Hikida can both be crouch-blocked.
 - The Kawasaki can be canceled into a special move or (S)DM.
 - The Senheki Shuu is an overhead attack, even if you cancel into it.
 - The Rikatsu Shuu is a low attack that must be crouch-blocked.
 - All of Bao's "Psycho Ball" attacks may seem a little confusing, but
the basic formula is this: if you perform a move with a light attack
(A or B), then Bao fires a projectile. If you perform it with a
heavy attack (C or D), Bao uses himself as a human projectile instead.
 - So, for example, if you do the Raise move with A, Bao fires a psycho
ball up into the air. Do it with C and he launches himself up into
   the air.
 - The Psycho Ball: Reflect moves can reflect most long range
projectiles, both normal and (S)DM types!

 - Regarding the supercancels, you can't cancel out of the Ryuu Enbu if
you did it during the Sachiyo Dori. It's only cancelable if you did
it by itself (canceling or comboing into it from a normal attack or
   command attack is okay, though).
 - When your opponent is in mid-air, the Dairin Fuusha Otoshi functions
as a knockdown attack. While this move can be crouch blocked, the
Ukihane and Yusura Ume cannot. However, only the Dairin Fuusha
Otoshi can be canceled into a special move.
 - The Koku'en no Mai is an overhead attack. If you cancel into it, it
becomes cancelable, but no longer functions as an overhead.
 - The Benitsuru no Mai is a low attack. You can cancel the first hit
into a special move or (S)DM.
 - When you perform the Musasabi no Mai (Chijou), Mai will leap to the
specified wall, then leap off of it. While she's falling, you can
use the Yusura Ume (d + P), Ukihane (d + K), Kuuchuu Musasabi no Mai
(qcb + P), or the Toki Tsubute (qcb + K, if your opponent is in air
and you're both close to each other).
 - Alternately, you can hold P during the Musasabi no Mai (Chijou), and
once Mai leaps to a wall, she'll do a diving attack similar to the
   Musasabi no Mai (Kuuchuu).
 - The Hou'ou no Mai hits more times if your opponent's in the air.

 - When used in air, the range of the Kasane Ate is shortened.
 - The Hakusan Tou has autoguard. Your opponent won't fly as high if

   after this move, anyway.
 - The Messhin Mutou counters jumping attacks, while the Sasshou Inshuu

 - The Tatsumaki Souda is unblockable, and you can juggle your opponent

Supercancels: Hangetsu Zan, Ryuusei Raku, Hishou Kyaku

 - Regarding the supercancels, you can't cancel out of the Hangetsu Zan
on the last hit (for either version). Also, you can only cancel out
of the Ryuusei Raku on the first hit.
 - The first hit of the Kuuren Geki can be canceled into the Hishou Kyaku
   or Hou'ou Kyaku.
 - The second hit of the Neri Chagi is an overhead attack. If you cancel
into this move, it becomes cancelable (on either hit), but no longer
   functions as an overhead.
 - The Haki Kyaku is a low attack that must be crouch blocked. You can
cancel this move into the Hou'ou Kyaku, too.

 Supercancels: Tekkyuu Funsai Geki

 - Regarding the supercancels, you can only cancel out of the Tekkyuu
Funsai Geki just before or right as Chang attacks with the iron ball.
 - The Hiki Nige is a low attack that must be blocked crouching.
 - You can cancel the Tekkyuu Dai Kaiten by pressing ABCD during the
   move. This move has autoguard.
 - During the (C) Tekkyuu Funsai Geki, an opponent can be hit if they
touch the spinning iron ball animation prior to Chang actually
striking. Both versions of the Tekkyuu Funsai Geki have autoguard.
 - The Tekkyuu Taiko Uchi will counter mid-range and high attacks, as
well as jumping attacks that hit Chang below the head area. It
cannot stop low attacks though (like sweeps). Normally using this
move only makes Chang sneeze, but for every 3rd time you counter an
attack, Chang falls to the floor, doing considerable damage.
 - The Dai Hakai Nage is unblockable.
 - The Tekkyuu Dai Bousou has several different finishers, although they
all do the same amount of damage. The finishing moves include: the
Hiki Nige, Chang's standing B kick, a Body Blow attack, a belly flop,
an upward rolling attack, and his old Hien Zan (which hits on the way
down). Note that the (A) version doesn't quite cover the whole
screen, so if you do it from afar, Chang will fall on his back just
   as he reaches his opponent.
 - During the DM Tekkyuu Dai Assatsu, using (A) makes Chang jump, while
   (C) makes him run forward before jumping. This move can hit on the
way up and on the way down, but going down, it's an overhead attack.
 - The SDM Tekkyuu Dai Assatsu makes Chang jump immediately no matter
what button is used. While's it's not an overhead attack, anyone who
isn't crouch blocking (or airborne) when Chang slams into the ground
is damaged, no matter where they are on-screen.
 - When you use the Tekkyuu Dai Bokusatsu, Chang performs two iron ball
attacks. However, if the first hit misses, even if the second one
hits, Chang won't do the rest of the 'auto-combo' part of this move.

 Striker Action: Chouhatsu Zanmai

Supercancels: Tatsumaki Shippuu Zan, Kishuu Hien Zuki, Hishou Kyaku

 - Regarding the supercancels, you can only cancel the first hit of the
Tatsumaki Shippuu Zan into the Shin! Chouzetsu Tatsumaki Shinkuu Zan.
Any more hits than that (or if you're using the Kishuu Hien Zuki or
Hishou Kyaku), and you can only be canceled into the Rin-kaiten Toppa.
 - If you cancel into the Mukuro Zuki, it becomes cancelable. This move
will also drop the guard of anyone who blocks it. This allows you to
cancel into a blocked Mukuro Zuki, into a (B) Hou'ou Kyaku, and the
   whole thing will combo.
 - During the Senpuu Hien Sashi, you can interrupt your flight with the
Houkou Tenkan, which is performed by pressing in any direction and
pressing any Punch or Kick button. You can use the Houkou Tenkan
twice in a row, if you want.
 - The Tatsumaki Shippuu Zan hits more times if done from a slight
distance away from your opponent instead of right next to them.
 - When you perform the Hishou Kuuretsu Zan, Choi jumps to whichever
wall you've specified. If you keep holding the Kick button you used,
he'll rebound off the wall with an attack--using (B) makes him fly
diagonally downward, while (D) makes him fly horizontally. Once
you're flying claws-first, you can use the Houkou Tenkan, if you want
to (see above for more information).
 - The (A) version of the Rin-kaiten Toppa goes straight down, while the
   (C) version goes at a diagonal angle.

Supercancels: Ryuurou Shuu, (D) Mangetsu Zan, Shuusou Kyaku: Joudan,

                   Geki, Taikyoku Hi

 - Regarding the supercancels, you can cancel from the (D) Mangetsu Zan
into the Hou'ou Tenbu Kyaku on any hit aside form the last one (which
can be supercanceled into the Hou'ou Ressou Kyaku). And although the
Taikyoku Hi can't hit anyone, yes, it's still supercancelable.
 - Although the Ryuurou Shuu is supercancelable, you can use this move
and cancel into the Hou'ou Tenbu Kyaku normally, as you can make any
attack right after the Ryuurou Shuu connects.
 - An opponent hit by the Haiki Geki is stunned, allowing you to hit
   them before they recover.
 - You can hold (A) during the Soshuu Geki, (A) Haiki Geki or (A) Kuu
Sajin to go into the Soshuu stance upon recovering, or you can hold
   (B) to use the Kirikae Dousa to end up in the Ryouko stance.
 - You can hold (B) during the Ryouko Geki or (B) Mangetsu Zan to go into
the Ryouko stance upon recovering, or you can hold (A) to use the
Kirikae Dousa to end up in the Soshuu stance.
 - Jhun can make use of two different stances, 'Soshuu' (Stalking Eagle)
stance, and 'Ryouko' (Hunting Tiger) stance. The normal way to access
either stance is to tap d,d + A (for Soshuu), or B (for Ryouko), and
then hold A or B for as long as you want to remain in that stance.
You can also go from a special move into a stance (see above).
 - When in either stance, moving around is limited to holding back or
forward to hop in the desired direction, or by tapping b,b or f,f to
quickly leap back or forward--you cannot jump, run, or use rolls
while in a stance. Also, you cannot use Body Blow attacks, or any
other type of special move aside from the ones available to you while
   in a particular stance.
 - You can get out of either stance at any time simply by releasing the
button you're holding, and can switch into another stance by pressing
and holding the opposite button (so if you were holding B to remain in
the Ryouko stance, you could press and hold A to switch to the Soshuu
   stance, and then release B).
 - Either Shuusou Kyaku will stun an opponent, allowing you to follow up
with the Taikyoku Ha. Or, you can do a three hit combo, by using the
Shuusou Kyaku: Gedan (press C), then the Joudan version (press u + C),
and then the Taikyoku Ha (press D).
 - Unlike other moves that make you drop your guard, hitting a blocking
opponent with the Taikyoku Ha actually results in a Guard Crush
message popping up. How this differs from a dropped guard, I don't
know, but there you go. If you're in Counter Mode, you can always
tack on the Hou'ou Ressou Kyaku after Guard Crushing your opponent.
The Taikyoku Ha is also a knockdown attack.
 - Both the Shuuko Geki and Mouko Geki are low attacks that must be
crouch blocked. The Shuuko Geki won't knock a hit enemy down, but
it has a longer range than the Mouko Geki. On the other hand, the
Mouko Geki knocks an opponent into the air, allowing you to juggle
   them as they fall.
 - The Hiko Geki is an overhead attack.
 - During the Taikyoku Hi, Jhun is invincible to everything but throws.

Striker Action: Ura 108 Shiki: Orochi Nagi
 Another Striker: Sho Kirishima
Supercancels: Nanase, Oniyaki, Hikigane, Nue Tsumi

 - Regarding the supercancels, you can only cancel off the first hit of
the (C) Oniyaki. The Hikigane is cancelable on the first hit, any
time between the first and second hits, or after the second hit.
 - When your opponent is in mid-air, the Naraku Otoshi functions as a
   knockdown attack.
 - The Goufu You is an overhead attack. If you cancel into this move,
the animation changes and it becomes a two-hit attack. However,
although it will now be cancelable on the second hit, it will no
   longer function as an overhead.
 - The 88 Shiki is a low attack--both hits must be crouch-blocked.
 - The Aragami and Dokugami both have autoguard.
 - The Migiri Ugachi and Yano Sabi are overhead attacks.
 - You can juggle an opponent after the second hit of the 75 Shiki: Kai.
 - An opponent hit by the Nue Tsumi is knocked into the air, but cannot
be juggled. If you intercept your opponent's attack with this move,
Kyo automatically blocks their attack and responds with either the
Ryuu Iri (against high attacks), or the Tora Fuse (against low
attacks). You can counter mid-level attacks, too, although some
trigger the Ryuu Iri, others, the Tora Fuse. Jumping attacks cannot
   be reversed.
 - During the DM Orochi Nagi, Kyo is immune to high and jumping attacks
if you performed it with (C) and delayed it (by that virtue, he is
also immune to most projectiles, even the big ones, like the Haou
Shikou Ken). Performing and delaying the DM Orochi Nagi with (A)
only makes him invincible to mid-level and low attacks (although
"mid-level" covers even an enemy Kyo's Orochi Nagi)! Of course, Kyo
can still be injured using throws, though.
 - During the SDM Orochi Nagi, Kyo is invincible against any projectile
attack, even the (S)DM types. Since his body is on fire, he can
injure people who attack him physically, although some attacks can
hit him in spite of his flaming clothes (like the Hisha Otoshi).
 - If you delay the 182 Shiki by holding P, it not only does more damage,
but becomes unblockable once fully charged.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right now, I don't know jack-diddly about Kula, although according to
MadMan's Cafe, she's the mid-boss of this game. You can see a picture
of her at SNK of Japan's page, at:

          <www.neogeo.co.jp/kof00/striker/gif2/m_kula.gif>

It doesn't seem to be normally viewable unless you see it from the
'gif2' directory, and there's no .html files for her, either. Huh.

 3. SECRETS AND TRICKS
 ========================================================================

As of v0.1, all of the information in this section comes straight from
the MadMan's Cafe, so thank Henry Moriarty for getting these codes out
 to us gamers :)

 ENABLE THE MID-BOSS, KULA
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
 "This code is unconfirmed:

        - Put the cursor on Whip, press Start.
        - Put the cursor on Vanessa, press Start.
        - Put the cursor on Seth, press Start.
        - Put the cursor on Maxima, press Start.
        - Put the cursor on K', press Start.
        - Put the cursor on Random, press Start.
        - Now press up, down

If you input the code correctly, Kula will appear in the Random Select
 icon after a moment."

 ENABLE THE HIDDEN STRIKERS
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hidden strikers are available for a limited number of characters.
To use the hidden striker in place for the usual strikers, use the
 following code:

        - After choosing the team's character order, but the cursor
          to the extra striker icon.
        - Tap, up, left x3, right x3, down

The following characters have hidden strikers:

        - Iori, Kyo, Kasumi, Chang, Choi, Ryo, Ramon, and Kula."

Again, I haven't tested any of this myself, it's all from the Madman's
Cafe, which you can visit at: <http://www.mmcafe.com>.

Also, since SNK of Japan's page lists 9 question marks at their page
(in the Another Striker section), it would seem like somebody else has
 a hidden striker as well.

 4. GAMEPLAY NOTES
 ========================================================================

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
 WHAT'S NEW
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quite a bit has changed since KoF '99, as explained below:

 ACTIVE STRIKER SYSTEM
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strikers can now be called at anytime; while in air, while making an
attack; while lying on the ground, or as you're flying through the air
after getting attacked. You can summon a striker by pressing BC, but
you will lose a 'Strike Bomb' every time you call a striker. Once
you're out of Strike Bombs, you can't call your striker anymore. As in
KoF '99, you can hold from 3-5 'Strike Bombs' during a match.

BONUS STRIKER ATTACK (Japanese name: "Striker Tsuika Kougeki")
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
After throwing your opponent with a normal throw (which is done by
 pressing b / f + C / D when close), you can do the Bonus Striker Attack
by pressing BC. However, this costs one Power Gauge stock. However,
while this is occuring, you can press Start to taunt your enemy and
earn back another Strike Bomb (at the cost of a Power Gauge stock).

OTHER STRIKER (Japanese name: "Another Striker")
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Normally you must pick four characters; three of them are controllable
during the game, while the fourth member is your Striker character, who
you can call during the match. With the 'Another Striker' system, you
have the option of using your fourth character's 'Another Striker' in
battle. For example, if I have picked the Fatal Fury Team and designate
Terry as my striker, I could instead choose to make his 'Another
Striker' (in this case, Geese Howard), my own striker. In battle,
pressing BC would then summon Geese, not Terry.

POWER UP MODES: COUNTER MODE AND ARMOR MODE
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Using either Counter Mode or Armor Mode will cost you three Power Gauge
stocks. Below is a list explaining what you can do in each mode:

  IN COUNTER MODE....
   - Your attacks do more damage.
   - You can use DMs as often as you want.
   - You can supercancel certain command attacks or special moves
     into DMs.
   - You can use chain combos (SNK of Japan's page didn't elaborate
on this feature, so I can't comment on it).
   - You can use the Guard Cancel Emergency Evades and Guard Cancel
Body Blow Attack as often as you like.

Counter Mode lasts for quite a while, but once it wears off, your Power
Gauge doesn't 'reactivate' for a while, preventing you from earning more
power or stocks for a period of time.

  IN ARMOR MODE....
   - Your attacks do more damage (not as much as Counter Mode, though).
   - You take no block damage from special moves and (S)DMs.
   - You get "super armor" (SNK's terminology, no less)!
   - You can use the Guard Cancel Emergency Evades and Guard Cancel
Body Blow Attack as often as you like.

Armor Mode lasts half as long as Counter Mode, and once it wears off,
your Power Gauge doesn't 'reactivate' for a while, preventing you from
earning more power or stocks for a period of time.

"Super armor" is the ability to take a hit without going into hitstun.
This means that Chang can whack you upside the head with his iron ball,
and you'll still be standing there, fully controllable--this enables
you to hit someone out of an attack (or take any other action) as they
are damaging you. Super armor doesn't lessen the amount of damage you
take, it just applies to not going into hitstun. However, there are
some drawbacks. Super armor doesn't work while you're in air, so if
you're jumping or otherwise airborne, you go into hitstun when attacked.

Also, some attacks will still make you go into hitstun; usually the
"ranbu" style attacks like the Tekkyuu Dai Bousou, Sonic Slaughter,
etc., but other moves like the V Slasher have the same effect. Note
that not going into hitstun doesn't offer you complete defense against
getting knocked to the floor or up into the air; for example, nobody's
CD attack can knock you down, and most knockdown attacks (like Leona's
Strike Arch) won't knock you down, either. However most crouching (D)
sweeps can, as can certain other attacks (like Whip's crouching C).

MAX SUPER SPECIAL MOVES aka SDMs (Japanese: "MAX Chou Hissatsu Waza")
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
In KoF '00, your Life Gauge no longer flashes red when you're about to
die. So then, how do you do SDMs? Well, SDMs are now usable when you
have three Power Gauge stocks. What's more, only certain moves can be
SDM'd, and they are performed by using two buttons (for example, only
Leona's V Slasher can be used an SDM and is performed by entering
qcf,hcb + AC while in mid-air). On the other hand, some moves are SDM
only (like Ralf's Galactica Phantom, which can only be performed as
 qcf,qcf + AC and requires 3 stocks).

 EMERGENCY EVASION MOVES
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
The slides and slide attack from KoF '99 have been removed, and in
their place, the old rolling system from KoF '98 has been re-introduced.
You can roll backward or forward by inputting b + AB (for the former),
or just AB (for the latter). While you are invincible during a roll,
you can still be hit by throws. You can also go from your blocking
animation into a forward or backward roll, but this requires one Power
 Gauge stock to perform.

 RE-EDIT YOUR TEAM
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
When fighting against the CPU, you are stuck using the team you picked
initially. If a second player joins in, you can make up a new team to
fight him, but after that battle was over and you went back to fighting
the CPU, you'd be back in control of your original team.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
 WHAT'S OLD
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some elements remain unchanged from KoF '99:

 OVERHEAD ATTACKS
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are moves that cannot be crouch-blocked; they must be blocked
standing. All normal jumping attacks are overheads, but some mid-air
special moves and command attacks aren't and can be crouch-blocked.

 KNOCKDOWN ATTACKS
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are attacks that knock an opponent to the ground. Everyone's
Body Blow Attack (press CD) will knock someone to the floor, for
 example.

 REVERSALS
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reversals are moves that, when used normally, have no effect (they don't
even hit). However, if the person using the reversal is hit by an
attack, they will take no damage, and attack their opponent back (for
example, Mary's M. Head Buster makes her catch her opponent's attack and
then kick them into the air). Not all attacks can be reversed, and some
characters have more than one reversal that only work against one sort
of attack (for example, Kasumi's Messhin Mutou only stops jumping
attacks, while her Sasshou Inshuu only stops standing attacks). Kyo's
reversal (the Nue Tsumi) is unique in that it can hit an opponent
normally, and only functions as a reversal when Kyo interrupts his
 enemy's attack with this move.

 COUNTERS
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
These occur when you hit a person as they attack you. At this point, if
your attack wins, you get a counter hit. If their attack beats yours
anyway, they get a counter hit. There are three benefits of counter
hits--one is that you recover faster, so that you have a better chance
of combing / juggling your enemy after a counter hit, and another is
that any body blow attack that counter hits can be canceled into a
command attack, special move, or DM, and stands a chance of actually
hitting (normally, they can cancel but never hit). This even works in
the air. The third advantage of getting a counter is that it increases
the amount of damage a move does. Usually the amount is quite small,
but it tends to be a rather sizable increase for some DMs, and certain
moves do tons of added damage on a counterhit (like Ryo's Tenchi Haou
 Ken).

 GUARD CRUSHES
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guard Crushes happen when you block too many attacks in succession, or
in a short period of time. When this happens, you'll momentarily stop
blocking. If your opponent Guard Crushed you with a multi-hit attack,
all subsequent attacks will hit you for full damage. It's even possible
for some characters to Guard Crush you with a one-hit attack, then hit
you with another attack if it comes out fast enough.

 DROPPED GUARD
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Characters will drop their guard (stop blocking momentarily) when hit by
certain attacks, like Shingo's Kake Hourin. By itself this is not that
useufl, but it can be a useful technique in Counter Mode, since you can
cancel into DMs--for example, Takuma can drop his opponent's guard with
the 2nd hit of a blocked Mouko: Burai Gan, then cancel into the Ryuuko
 Ranbu and have it connect.

 5. MISCELLANEOUS
 ========================================================================

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
 LIST OF STRIKER ACTIONS
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was tempted to just use the striker descriptions from KoF '99, but it
sounds as if some of them have changed slightly, so I translated the
text from SNK of Japan's page instead (I know it sounds a little weird).

 Andy Bogard
Shippuu Zan'ei Ken (Gale Phantom Slash Fist)
 - Andy does a dashing Zan'ei Ken type attack.

 Athena Asamiya
 Psycho Healing (Psycho Repair)
 - Athena jumps to where her opponent is and lands. If her ally is
nearby, then they recover some of their lost Life Gauge. If an
opponent is nearby, they are knocked away, but take no damage.

 Bao
Psycho Ball Attack MAX ~Striker MIX~
 - Bao runs in from offscreen and does a 'Psycho Ball Attack MAX'.

 Benimaru Nikaido
 Elec-Trigger
 - Benimaru jumps over to his opponent, grabs them, and performs the
Elec-Trigger. This move does no damage.

 Chang Koehan
Tekkyuu Dai Kourin (Great Iron Ball Drop)
 - Chang comes in from off-screen doing his Tekkyuu Dai Assatsu attack.

 Chin Gentsai
Hourai Rakuen (Pigweed Sagebrush ? Feast)
 - Chin rolls in from offscren. After a moment, he performs the Ryuurin
Hourai (although if his opponent is nearby, he does this immediately).

 Choi Bounge
 Chouhatsu Zanmai (Three Foolish Taunts)
 - Choi comes in from off screen and taunts, lowering his opponent's
Power Gauge. If his opponent is nearby, he does a Tatsumaki Shippuu
   Zan instead.

 Clark Steel
 Flashing Launcher
 - Clark jumps in with a flying kick. Upon landing, if his opponent is
nearby, he grabs them and throws them into the air.

 Hinako Shijo
 Teppou Hiyoko (Doll Gun)
 - Hinako performs her Tsukidashi attack.

 Iori Yagami
Ura 108 Shiki: Ya Sakazuki (Reverse Style No. 108: Eight Wine Cups)
 - Iori runs on screen, and performs his Ya Sakazuki attack. If the
fireball only hits once, a puddle of purple energy is left behind
for a while, and anyone who touches it is frozen in place.

 Jhun Hoon
 Fukuko Shuugeki (Tiger's Belly Raid)
 - Jhun comes in from off screen and does a Hiko Geki. If his incoming
dash hits, he does a Kuu Sajin instead.

 Joe Higashi
Ora Ora Bakuretsu Ken ([greeting between fighters] Exploding Fists)
 - Joe comes in and performs a Bakuretsu Ken attack.

 Kasumi Todoh
 Katsu (Harass)
 - Kasumi jumps in with a kick attack from offscreen. If her opponent is
nearby, she grabs them and throws them.

 Sie Kensou
Nikuman 4 U (Meat Bun For You)
 - Kensou comes in doing a Ryuu Sougeki. Upon landing, he eats a meat
bun, and his ally (if they are nearby) get some Life Gauge energy
   back.

 Hishou Kyaku (Flying Rising Kick)
 - Kim jumps in doing a Hishou Kyaku. If it hits, he follows with a Kuu
   Sajin.

(Reverse Style No. 108: Great Serpent Mowdown)
 - Kyo does his 'Orochi Nagi' attack.

though, he does a Crow Bites instead.

 Leona
 Killer Touch
 - Leona dashes in from off-screen. If her dash hits, she grabs her
opponent and plants an explosive on them.

 Lin
 Hirai Kyaku (Flying Lightning Kick)
 - Lin comes in from off-screen performing his Hiten Kyaku attack.

 Mai Shiranui
 Sakura Fubuki (Falling Cherry Blossoms)
 - Mai comes in from off-screen. Upon landing, she cheers for her ally,
which boosts their Power Gauge up a bit. If her incoming attack hits,
she instead does an anti-air attack.

 Blue Mary
 Rapid Spider
 - Mary comes in doing her Straight Slicer. If it hits, she follows with
the M. Spider, then kicks them into the air.

 Maxima
 Maxima Gallows
 - Maxima jumps over to his opponent and grabs them, then strangles them.
   This move does no damage.

 Ralf Jones
 Galactica Phantom
 - Ralf comes in with his Kyuukouka Bakudan Punch. Upon landing, he does
   a Galactica Phantom.

 Ramon
 El Diablo Amarillo
 - Ramon rushes forward, and if he hits, he does a 'Ranbu' type attack.

 Robert Garcia
Ryuuren Moushuu (Rapid Dragon Rave Kick)
 - Robert dashes in from off-screen. If his dash hits, he does a 'Ranbu'
   type attack.

 Ryo Sakazaki

 - Vanessa appears near the edge of the screen and rushes forward. If
she hits, she does a 'Ranbu' type attack.

 Whip
 Valkyrie Shot
 - Whip comes in from off-screen and does a repeated whip attack upon
landing. If her opponent is hit as she lands, she does the Boomerang
   Shot instead.

which increases their Power Gauge somewhat. If her incoming attack
hits, she does an anti-air attack instead (the Yuri Double Chou
   Upper).

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
 LIST OF ANOTHER STRIKER ACTIONS
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

As with the above list, this is just a translation of the information
already found at SNK of Japan's page, although I have been getting in
some contributions for some of the strikers. If I mention move commands
for these characters, it's just to familarize you with the attack--
inputting f,d,df + P during Billy's Rengeki Ensatsu Kon will not do
 anything :)

'Athena' style Athena (Athena Asamiya's striker)
 Flame Sword
 - A flaming sword attack.

 Kang Baedal (Jhun Hoon's striker)
 Ko Neppuu (Hot Storm Tiger)
 - Kang fires two tornados.

 Another Benimaru (Benimaru's striker)
 Raijin Ken (Thunder God's Fist)
 - Benimaru performs the 'Raijin Ken' (arranged version).

 Billy Kane (Andy's Striker)
Rengeki Ensatsu Kon (Continuous Circle Slash Cane Attack)
 - Billy appears at the edge of the screen and does his Dai Kaiten Geri
   (his f + A attack), then does his Sen'en Satsu Kon (his f,d,df + P
   attack).

 Chizuru Kagura (Mai's striker)
 Boukatsu: Hatei no Reifu
(Revived Pole: Ceremonial Dance of the Fan King)
 - Kagura appears and dances around after a moment, thereby restoring
some of her ally's Life Gauge.

 Chris (Whip's striker)
 Shooting Dancer
 - Chris appears at the edge of the screen and performs the 'Shooting
Dancer: Step' attack. If his opponent attacks the main character
(not Chris himself), he does the 'Shooting Dancer: Thrust' instead.
Once Chris is done attacking, he will blink and disappear. P. Hwang
says this is probably because the Orochi Team is dead, anyway :)

 Goro Daimon (Seth's striker)
 Tenchi Gaeshi (Olympic Version)
(Heaven and Hell Return [Olympic Version])
 - Goro appears at the edge of the screen and rushes forward. If he
hits, he grabs his opponent and throws them.

 Duck King (Joe Higashi's striker)
 Windmill
 - Duck King comes in from off-screen and jumps to the middle of the
screen, where he then performs a dance attack.

 Duke Edwards (Ramon's striker)
 Submarine Screw
 - Duke appears at the edge of the screen, then approaches his opponent
   and does an uppercut attack.

Kim Dong Hwan (Chang Koehan's striker)
 Shiden Kyaku (Purple Electricity Kick)
 - Kim comes in with a trampling attack; if it hits, he follows with the
'Shiden Kyaku'. If it misses, he does the 'Ponpe Odori' (Ponpe Dance)
instead, which lowers his opponent's Power Gauge.

 Eiji Kisaragi (Lin's striker)
 Kasumi Giri (Slicing Mist)
 - After appearing, Eiji dashes forward a fixed distance while vanishing.
Once close to his opponent, he reappears with his 'Kasumi Giri'
   attack.

 Fio (Vanessa's striker)
Parachute Kouka Kunren (Falling Parachute Practice)
 - Fio drops down from off-screen, using a parachute. After falling
down, she does a Body Blow attack on her opponent, if they're nearby.

 Gai Tendou (Takuma's striker)
 Wheel Combo: Maxi Edge
 - Gai comes in from off screen and does the same move as in his Dark
Striker attack from KoF '99 Evolution (I own Evolution, but can't get
Gai or Sho Kirishima unlocked, so I don't know just what this is).

 Geese Howard (Terry's striker)
 Shinkuu Nage (Vacuum Throw)
 - Geese jumps to where his opponent is grabs them, and throws them.
If his opponent is outside of throw range, he taunts instead.

 Goenitz (Leona's striker)
Yonokaze (Four Winds) (spelled "" in Russian)
 - A while after appearing, Goenitz attacks with a tornado. Believe
it or not, the Russian spelling is just phonetic, and isn't a
real translation of 'Yonokaze'. Weird, huh?

 Another Iori (Iori's striker?)
San Byaku Juu Ichi Shiki: Tsumagushi? (Style No. 311: Claw Comb?)
 - This version of Iori is wearing a trenchcoat. He comes in with a
jumping kick, then does a full screen Tsumagushi (his f,d,df + K
   attack from '98).

Kim Jae Hoon (Choi Bounge's striker)
 Ryuusei Raku (Shooting Star Drop)
 - Kim appears at the edge of the screen and does a 'Ryuusei Raku'.

 Another K' (K''s striker)
 Narrow Spike
 - Another K' does a rushing attack.

 Kaede (Ryo Sakazaki's striker)
Kasshin: Fukuryuu (Revived Spirits: Lying Dragon)
 - Kaede appears at the edge of the screen performing a 'Sokukaze'
(Controlled Winds) atack. After appearing, he does his 'Fukuryuu'
   attack.

 Kaoru Watabe (Bao's striker)
 Powerful Miracle Tackle
 - Kaoru does a dashing attack, then cheers for her ally, causing their
Power Gauge to recover a bit.

'Psycho Soldier' style Kensou (Kensou's striker)
 Psycho Space
 - Kensou comes in from off screen, and upon travelling a certain
distance, does an invisible force attack.

Cosplayer Kyoko / Costume Player Kyoko (Shingo's striker)
 75 Shiki: Kai2 (Style No. 75 Modified - Squared)
 - Kyoko comes in from offscreen and performs the '75 Shiki: Kai' attack.
If her incoming attack hits, she taunts instead. Apparently, this is
basically the same thing as Kyo-1 / -2's striker from KoF '99; Kyoko
comes in with a R.E.D. Kick, then the 75 Shiki: Kai, then a taunt
   (Kyo's finger shaking taunt).

 Lilly Kane (Hinako Shijo's striker)
 Lilly no Ouen (Lilly's Cheering)
 - Lilly dashes in from the edge of the screen. After appearing, she
cheers for her ally, recovering some Power Gauge energy.

 Mature & Vice (Iori's striker)
 Decide
 - Which character comes out is random. Whoever does show up will get
near their opponent and perform their Decide (hcf + K throw).

 Nakoruru (Yuri Sakazaki's striker)
Daichi no Megumi (Blessing of the Earth)
 - Nakoruru gets next to her ally and recovers some of their Life Gauge.

 Baijang (Chin Gentsai's striker)
 Gororin Panda
 - Baijang comes in from off-screen and advances forward using a rolling
   attack.

 Another Robert (Robert Garcia's striker)
 Chouhatsu no Ken (Taunting Fist)
 - Robert leaps onscreen and taunts. If his opponent is close enough, he
   does a 'Ryuuga' instead.

 Rocky (Maxima's striker)
 Atomic Burn
 - Rocky appears at the edge of the screen and fires a shot.

 Shermie (Clark's striker)
 Shermie Spiral Hold
 - Shermie jumps over to her opponent and grabs them, then does a hold
attack. Once Shermie is done attacking, she will blink and disappear.

 Shishi-Ou / King Lion (King's Striker)
 Beast Blow
 - King Lion appears at the edge of the screen and rushes forward. If he
hits, he does a 'Ranbu' type attack. If he misses, he does the 'King
   Straight' attack instead.

 Kim Sue-il (Kim Kaphwan's striker)
 Hisen Zan (Flying Slice Flash)
 - Kim appears at the edge of the screen and does a rushing attack. If
it hits, he does his 'Hisen Zan' attack.

 Sho Kirishima (Kyo Kusanagi's striker)
 Sexual Charisma Dynamite (Remember KOF)
 - Sho leaps in with a diving attack. Upon landing, he does a upwards-
thrusting attack. If the diving attack hits, he does a taunt instead,
which lowers his opponent's Power Gauge.

 Li Xiangfei (Kasumi Todoh's striker)
 Dai Kokuchou (Great Cruel Taunt)
 - Xiangfei does a taunt which lowers her opponent's Power Gauge.

 Ryuji Yamazaki (Blue Mary's striker)
 Sarashi Kubi (Exposed Neck)
 - Ryuji jumps over to his opponent, grabs them, and strangles them
repeatedly. This move does no damage.

 Yashiro Nanakase (Ralf's striker)
 Missile Might Bash
 - Yashiro comes in with his Sledgehammer (qcb + K), which can hit
someone lying on the ground. He then attacks with his Missile Might
Bash (hcb + P attack). Once Yashiro is done attacking, he will blink
   and disappear.

 SPECIAL THANKS
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

This FAQ could not have been written without the help of the following
 people:

 GalFord
  - For his translation of 'El Diablo Amarillo' and for telling me how
    the Russian names work.

 Patrick Hwang
  - For tons of information; he told me about the Counter Mode knockdown
attack, how taunting works, how you can re-edit your teams in versus
play, and provided descriptions / info. on certain Striker attacks.

 Jeffrey's J<->E Dictionary       <http://www.linear.mv.com/cgi-bin/j-e/>
  - As usual, I relied on this site for translating some of the Japanese
move names--this is a pretty cool dictionary.

 Henry Moriarty MadMan's Cafe, <http://www.mmcafe.com>
  - I got the codes to unlock the strikers and mid-bosses from this page,
which has recently re-opened. Definitely check it out; it's one of
the best videogame information sites on the Net, and a personal
    favorite of mine.

 SNK of Japan <www.neogeo.co.jp>
  - Tons of info. was taken from their KoF 2000 Japanese and English
sites; most of what you see in v0.1 of this FAQ was taken straight
from the source, so to speak.

 REVISION HISTORY
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Version 0.2 (August 11, 2000)
  - Fixed up the MAX / SDM mistake (SNK has always referred to SDMs as
"MAX" moves). I also added in some information from my KoF '99 FAQ,
and other stuff that I tested out on KoF '99 Evolution, which should
still apply. Changed some of the number translations after getting
some spellings from SNK's KoF '00 dictionary, too. There have also
been some great contributions sent in as well.

 Version 0.1 (August 6, 2000)
  - A bare-bones release; I will be adding info. from my KoF '99 FAQ in
the next update. What's here is simply what I could get from SNK
    of Japan's page.

 That's all, thanks for reading!
