-1. Introduction-
-----------------

Well this game is getting on quite a bit these days but it is still one of
the most fun games to play on the Game Boy. It's easy to pick up and play.
I have decided to write this to give tips and advice in to how best play
game. There is not a lot this game as it was made at the very start of the
Game Boys life but it's still a pretty tough game that requires quite a bit
of practice to become very good at. So enjoy.

-2. Updates-
------------

Version .75
13/6/00 Initial layout and design worked out and put into place.

-------------
-3. Controls-
-------------

The controls are pretty simple for this game but here they are

A: Serve
   Normal Court Shot

B: Top Spin Serve
   Lob Court Shot

Start: Select Mode Of Game Play

Select: Scroll Through Game Play Options

-4. General Tactics To Win-
---------------------------

Tennis on the Game Boy has 4 different difficulty levels on it each one
being a little tougher than the last. I will try and break the differnt
levels down and suggest the best stratagies to beat each one with

First of all the major difference in each level is th game gets a little
bit faster. The balls are hit harder and the computer player runs a bit
faster than on the previous level.

This being the first difficulty is by far the easiest and there is one sure
fire way of beating the computer flawlessly every time. This method listed
below can be used as a basic way of beating each difficulty it just gets
harder to implement it as the computer gets alot smarter as you progess
through the difficulty's.

=============
First Method
=============

Step 1. Serve the ball where you like, you may ace them if your lucky.

Step 2. Just as the computer player is about to hit the ball run diagonally
in towards the net. As you are running in the computer player will hit the
ball in line with you. Now just use an angled shot lefty or right away
from the computer player.

Step 3. You should see the ball go straight past the computer and win the
point. If for some reason the computer player got to the ball you should
be able to angle the ball away from the somputer again and it will win you
the point.

NOTE: You should be able to use this method against almost all the different
difficulty levels it's all about timing your run towards the net. If you
are playing a level 4 computer player then if you move to soon he will smash
the ball back down the line and you will have no chance of getting to it.

------------
-5. Serving-
------------

This is one part of the game which could win you matchs. It's all about
placing it in the right part of the box so that you have the opposition
out of place to return the ball a secind time.

SERVING RIGHT TO LEFT:

Use a normal A hit and angle it heavily to the left, just as you
hit the ball. The ball should just drop in just over the other side of the
net on the far side if the box. You may fault this many times but with
practice you should be able to ACE the opposition. If not ACE them then
open up the whole court so that you can put the ball away when they return
your serve.

DOWN THE LINE:

Use a normal A hit but angle it heavily to the left so the ball goes
straight down the line and has the oppostion reaching right across in court.
This isn't the best way or getting an ACE but it allows you to take control
of the net. But on the odd occation you will ACE the computer with ease.

-----------------
-Return Of Serve-
-----------------

Probably the most annoying and most frustrating part of the game on higher
difficulty levels. You manage to return the ball but only to have it belted
back past you on the far side of the court. Here are a few tips to help you
beat the computer at it's own game.

=DOWN THE LINE=

This is by far the most low precentage shot in the game. Simply fire the
ball back down the line that you are standing on. If you get it in the
computer has no hope of getting top it. BUT 80% of the time you will miss
the shot and it will fly out of court. With practice though it is possible
to get them in regulary.

Remember to take a step or to across to the opposite side that you want to
hit the ball down. This allows you to give yourself a bit of room to hit
the ball in.

=BACK ACROSS COURT=

When you go to return the serve hit it back to the computer player and then
approach the net as the computer player goes to hit the ball and then it
should leave the whole court open for you to finish the point off in.

-----------
-6. Cheats-
-----------

I think with out the aid of a game shark there is only the one cheat for
this game which is as follows.

WIN POINT ON SERVE EASILY

Toss the ball up as normal then as it reachs it's peak swing your racket
and you should miss the ball. Then after you have missed it run underneath
the ball and it should bounce up and down on the spot. For some reason the
game will think you won the point and credit you with the point. So now
you can just do that 4 times when servning to win your servis games easily.

-7. Game Geni Codes-
--------------------

I do not have a Game Geni for the Game Boy so i don;t know if they work.
But i got them off GameSages.com web site and i would think they are
reliable codes if they posted them on that site.

Game Genie Codes
