Version 1.3 = 2000-December-16 = Added to the Contents to help find
sections more quickly. Use Control+F to open the find box, and
type the words from the contents to jump to that section. Use it if
you don't like scrolling through pages and pages of text. I also
expanded the item section with more descriptions. Organized the
events numerically into list. Basically, all sections updated.

Version 1.2 = 2000-December-03 = All sections finished, and some spelling
 corrections, and formatting done.

Version 1.1 = 2000-November-28 = Battle debug finished, added more
descriptions to the debug room. Started on Questions and Answers and
 Miscellaneous Section.

Version 1.0 = 2000-November-17 = Started the guide, most of the debug
features listed. Battle debug not finished.

What is this?

This is a guide to the debug features inside the game "Valkyrie Profile"
by tri-Ace. Hidden inside this game is a debug mode that allows you to
view just about every event, as well as a movie viewer and a face check
option. There is also a debug menu to use while in battle. This guide
is based on the Japanese version of the game, so it may not apply to the
English version. Since I don't own the English version of the game,
I can't confirm whether or not the code works for that version.

For those who don't know, a debug mode is what programmers for the game
use to quickly jump to any point in the game, make battles easier, and
such. The main use is to check for bugs in the game, without spending
time wading through the beginning parts of a game. Despite so, this game
is infamous for its game crashing bugs. RPGs usually have a debug mode,
but some don't because of removal prior to the final release of a game.
A majority (if not all) of debug modes need a GameShark device to gain
access to.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is needed?

 * GameShark for the Playstation or similar device
 * Japanese text viewer to see this document properly (Shift-JIS Encoded)
 * Patience - it can get confusing at times. Also it helps if you already
cleared the game, so there will not be any spoilers.

Debug Room

First off, enter these codes into the GameShark. The Y-axis Modifier code
is optional; it is used just for adjusting position in case you get stuck.
Note: All codes listed are for the _Japanese_ version of this game. The
codes may not work with the _English_ version. All codes tested with
a GameShark Pro 3.2. If you are using a GameShark 1.x, then you will
have to change the codes that begin with "D" to a "C".

D002B698 0808

Load the game with the codes turned on. When you get to the title screen,
choose either [New Game] or [Continue]. If you choose [New Game], then
select the game level (Easy, Normal, or Hard) and then hold down the L1
and Select buttons before the screen fades. If you went the [Continue]
route, then make sure the file that is to be loaded is on the correct
Disk. Hold down the L1 and Select buttons while the file is loading, and
keep them held down. If you did it correctly, you will be dropped off
in the Debug Room, at which point, you can release the L1 and Select
buttons. You may have to adjust your position by pressing
L2+Start buttons or R1+Start buttons if you end up stuck inside the map.
The place where you save determines the position at which you will
appear in the debug room, so if you are having trouble getting it to work,
try saving in different spots. Also note if you enter the debug room
from New Game, then Valkyrie will be in street clothes, and she can't
swing her sword or shoot crystals, so beware.

The Debug Room looks like Camille Village, without the people. There are
some invisible walls around, and in the middle of the village, the is an
invisible ladder you can climb. Head on over to the left and once you
get near the edge, a menu opens up automatically. This is the Main Debug
Menu. You can also go to the well on the right half of the village, and
press Down. The same menu pops up.

This is where you see a list of the names of programmers involved
in the debug process. Each one had different parts of the game
as their responsibility. This game is unique in that the majority
of events are character related. Each of the characters has an
event number assigned to them. Here is a quick list to find the
character you want to see.

Explanation
-----------
Here is a short description of where each of the choices takes you.
All on Disk 1 unless noted. After the event is over, you will find
yourself back on the world map, usually. The number in parenthesis
is the event number, so the higher the number, the more likely it is
to go near the end of the game. You can cross reference the numbers with
the list found under the Main Debug Menu.
--------------
Hassy Sub Menu
--------------
݃fobO = Current Debug - This option takes you half-way into Yumeru's
 scenario.
xiXiORj = Belinas' scenario. Here you can see a young Belinas,
 and how he met Asaka.
߁XiOVj = Nanami's scenario. She feels as though she has something
 to prove, despite being adopted.
ځiOWj = Yumeru's scenario - includes the whirlpool FMV. Yumeru
doesn't believe the Ruri Pearl exists.
iPOj = Jyun's scenario - A story of how the samurai turned into
 a demon.
iPUj = Shiho's scenario - Disk 2 required. The "singing princess"
refused to sing for a battle. Suo (the red samurai) from the opposing
army found her, and brought Shiho over to their side. Unfortunately, Suo's
leader thought of her as a curse, and cut her down.
闖́̕iQOj = Suzuran Gravestone - Spirits haunting Platina's
grave. Valkyrie finds this place somewhat familiar.
lPiQPj = Claire's event where she throws a rock at
Valkyrie. Later on Rucio apologizes, since he has never seen Claire act
this strangely. Claire protests that Valkyrie has the same silver hair
 as Platina.
lQiQQj = Claire's event part 2 - This is where Rucio
joins the party. Disk 2 required.
_X̘\ցiQRj = Rucio sees the similarities between Valkyrie and
Platina, and wonders if there is a connection. Disk 2 required.
fobO[hO = Turn off Debug Mode - Not sure what this does.
[h}bvwo = Exits to the world map.

-[ Other Sub Menu ]-
`[gAiOj = Tutorial from chapter zero - Aryuze and Gerald
 join after this long event.
Et@ Hassy Ŝ݁iQj = Rofar's scenario featuring Celia and
 Kashel.
ohbN Hassy Ŝ݁iPQj = Badluck's scenario - has the FMV
of a flower blooming in the moonlight. Disk 2 required.
OC@Hassy Ŝ݁iPRj = Grey's scenario - Disk 2 required.
hF@Hassy Ŝ݁iPWj = Suo's scenario - Disk 2 required.
A[BoX^[giQUj = Arlie's awakening start - the starting point
to the "A" ending. Disk 2 required. Frei is worried that the seal on
Valkyrie's memories is fading. She releases Arlie to counteract this.
If you continue to watch this, then the game will drop you off in Bramhs
 Castle, without fighting Arlie.
A[BoV[RASiQUj = Arlie's awakening scene 3, 4 - Arlie
(the black valkyrie) takes over the Valkyrie role, and tries to trick
Aryuze and Meltina. Arlie claims she and Aryuze fought the "Vampire
King" Brahms in the past. It was an unfinished battle, with Brahms holding
the spirit of Silmelia, the third sister of Arlie and Rennas. Disk 2.
A[BގV[R̂PiQVj = Flashbacks of everything Rennas had
experienced. Disk 2. Valkyrie is in self-doubt, wondering if she had
picked spirits like plucking pedals from a flower.
A[BގV[R̂QiQVj = Flashback part 2 - if you continue to
watch it, drops you off versus Sult for the "B" ending. Disk 2.
A[BގV[SiQVj = Valkyrie frantically searching the ground
for the earring Rucio hid. Disk 2 only.

tFCX`FbN = Face Check - goes from 0-192.
  = Next
 O = Back
 +10, -10, +50, -50 = Self-explanatory. Adds that amount to the current
face. This helps if you want to jump ahead or back quickly.
The funny faces are #88 (Rezard) & #106 (Aryuze & Meltina).
Note: Not all faces are included. Most Sacred Phase characters won't
appear in this option. Here is a list of all faces.

[r[`FbN = Movie Check - Sub Menu opens with two options.
@n = Destruction of Valhalla - Shows a FMV of Loki's Dragon
Orb swallowing the life out of everything in the land. No sound is
played. Disk 2 is needed, otherwise you get a black screen. Watch as
the buildings crumble to pieces, and witness the land turn into a
 barren wasteland.
@nĐ = Resurrection of Valhalla - A FMV starting with the
feathers of Valkyrie's wings dropping to the parched land. As soon as
the feathers hit the ground, the land fills with life. This one also
has no sound, and you must be on Disk 2 to view it. Notice in one
scene, where a blue building is reconstructed, there is the tri-Ace
Logo hanging sideways on that building.
Note: Not all FMVs in the game are included in here.

Explanation
-----------
All on Disk 1 unless noted.
For the Disk 2 events, it helps to have a save file on Disk 2, chapter 5.
--------------
Guchi Sub Menu
--------------
04_EB@N = Rauli in Clairmonfiran. Milia tells Rauli
to listen to the sounds of the leaves. When the entire forest comes to
life, it's like listening to the waves of the ocean. Milia also knows
Rauli was going off overseas to fight battles, which Rauli tried to
hide from her. Rauli promised not to die, but he couldn't keep that
promise. Now all Milia could hear was the sound of waves crashing.
After Valkyrie explains to Rauli how a strong bond will become stronger,
and a weak bond will become weaker, she mentions that she is not a
 Cupid's Angel.
05_JVF@J~[ = Kashel in Camille Village - you can access the
Rock Caves Dungeon within the village after this event. Kashel and
Celia find the Camille Village people turned to stone. They find out
that a kid playing around caused the seal to break on a monster.
06_WFCN[iX@N = Jake Linnas scenario in Clairmonfiran.
Gyunta, the scary man in the pub tells Jake this place in not for
cowards. Jake insists he did not run away. Some of the castle people
plotted towards killing Jake, but they couldn't do in front of the
former King. They waited till a new King took over before killing Jake.
11_ZA@ArcC5 = Riselia in the Arcdine Ruins - selecting this will
drop you off near the save point in front of her room. Disk 2 required.
13_OC@Rezwood = Grey's scenario complete - Disk 2 is needed.
14_^@tXuO = Rolenta in Flensburg - Rezard's first
appearance. After the event, Rolenta will join your party, and you
will start off in the Tower of Rezard Valis, where he awaits. Rezard,
being the devil that he is, used his necromancer abilities to turn
Rolenta's husband into a ghoul. By doing so, he knew Valkyrie could not
ignore such a wicked deed. He did it so he could see his "love" again.
Valkyrie realizes Rezard has the power of the Lost Mystic [Isohoujin],
 the instant teleport arts.
15_eB[i@tXuO = Meltina's event in Flensburg - this is
a long event, which actually works on Disk 1! Meltina sneaks into
Rezard's Tower and steals the Homoclues. Rezard is not too pleased, so
he freezes her while she is in "the out of body experience" mode.
Oh yeah, in between that he explains why he needs that body, which
was to become the body of god. Rezard wanted to capture Valkyrie and
seal her in that body. Either that or put himself in that body.
17_WFC = Jail's scenario - halfway into it, J.D. Wallace makes an
appearance and casts a temptation spell. It doesn't work on Jail, since
she is female, unknown to everyone else. When Valkyrie warps in, J.D.
wonders why Valkyrie's armor is blue, since the last time they met it was
black (J.D. mistakens Renas for Arlie). A battle will then ensue.
Afterwards, you learn Jail's real name is Letecia. Works okay on Disc 1.
28_uX@P = Brahms Castle - the meeting with the vampire lord.
Here you can choose whether or not to fight. If you do choose to fight,
beware as his finishing move "Bloody Kalis" is killer. The game usually
 freezes after battle though.
Curt Check Point = In the middle of Meltina's event, the forest background
You can witness a beautiful scene explaining how Odin came to power.
Normally, the gods could not experience growth, since they are already a
perfect existence. Odin was different in that he was half-elf and half-
human. His human side allowed for growth, and it was only time before
Odin rose to the top, as explained by Rezard. Rezard also discovered
something interesting. He saw that a Homoclus and Half-Elf are basically
the same thing. If he could insert his spirit inside a Homoclus, then
he could become a god, like Odin. Plus he would have the growth
advantange offered by the human side.

-[ Link Sce Part Sub Menu ]-
26_05 eB[i Lab = Part of the "A" ending, inside Meltina's lab where
they are about to revive Valkyrie. This has the scene with Aryuze and
Meltina's funny face. Disk 2 is needed.
27_01-03 uX = Rezard, Aryuze, and Meltina go to Brahms castle to find
Arlie fighting Brahms. Brahms mentions that Arlie's true power is not with
the Valkyrie Body. He goes on to say Arlie woke up too early from her
sleep to be at her full potential. Arlie comes back telling Bramhs, that's
not something for him to say, when he uses Silmelia as a shield, like a
cheater. A battle will ensue, and you can fight Arlie with Brahms on your
side. Part of the "A" ending route. After battle, Meltina successfully
crystallizes Valkyrie's spirit. Brahms asks Aryuze if he would listen to
what he has to say. Aryuze says he has no interest about his past
(apparently Aryuze fought along side Arlie in the past). Meltina tells
Rezard how stupid he his for comparing Valkyrie to a fish.
27_33 --> U[h@Lab = Valkyrie asks herself whether humans and gods
 can love. Disk 2 required.
27_38-40 @ROOM = Valkyrie screams as her head is spinning with
images from the past. Disk 2.
13_30-40 OC = Starts with Celia at the Arcdine Ruins - she finds Grey
and she blames him for the death of Rofar, Kashel, and Amy. Disk 2.
12_54-55 ohbN = Part of Badluck's scenario on Disk 2.
30 40-50 Lab N = Flashback of Meltina and Rezard in Mel's Lab.
Event Ending After = Brahms and Rezard's speech during the aftermath
of the "A" ending. Disk 2 needed. You can see this after clearing the
game. During the "Fin" screen with the feather on it, wait about 2
minutes then the speech will begin. Brahms will begin talking about how
Valkyrie became the new God of Creation after the fall of Odin. Brahms
can't contain his excitement when he realizes what that means. Since he
has the spirit of Silmelia, (sister of Rennas) he holds the power of gods
in his hands. After laughing a bit, he then goes off into to deep black
abyss. Next we have our old friend Rezard speaking of how the Sage's Stone
protected him from the Flames of End released from the Dragon Orb. The
stone was lost as a result, but he survived. He comments that the change
that happened to Valkyrie taught him something - that he is the only
human that is not under the management of Valkyrie. After giving his
patented maniacal laugh, he finishes by saying he will eventually gain the
power to surpass mankind. Could this be hinting at a sequel?
Check Ending C = Self-explanatory. This is the "bad" ending where Frei
hunts you down, with intent to kill. You will get into a battle against
her, but she is nearly invincible. You can beat her, but you will still
get the bad ending. Sometimes it freezes after battle.
CheckSpritEvent = This option drops you off in the Forest of Spirits.
Check your item inventory to find the broken flame gem. Disk 2 required.
If you already cleared this event, you won't be able to see it again.
Back to Main Sce = Returns you to the previous menu.
Cancel = Returns you to the Main Debug Menu.

Check Ending B = A message giving you hints on how to get the "A" ending.
[Should Deny The Divine Destiny of The Destinies] = This game's subtitle
is the hint to getting the best ending.
Cancel = Returns you to the Main Debug Menu.

show him the way. Badluck remembers the one good deed he did 3 or 4
 years ago.

took the innocent kid to a church in Camille Village. Badluck then
comments that would you have cried if he said he took the kid to a foster
home? Would that have made a better story? Valkyrie agrees to let him
 join the party.
06 - h̒ij = Garden Inn at night - The part where Valkyrie
agrees to take Badluck along. Then the scene shifts to the inn with
Gina coming out to find Badluck hunched over the flower that just bloomed.

to kill him, but not to destroy his spirit. Fight! After winning the
battle, Gannosa joins when given the choice between Odin or Hell.

anytime. Are you up to the challenge?

-[ Rucio's Death in Valhalla Sub Menu ]-

due to the seal by Frei.

Then he shows off the Dragon Orb that he just stole, and summons two
beasts, Marou Fenrir, and Maryu Bloodvain. Bloodvain holds the fourth
treasure, [ Maken Levantin ],inside his stomach. Isn't is great? The
Four Treasures, and Two Beasts that are more powerful than the Four
Treasures combined. (Actually, only Bloodvain is the real problem).
Sult then mentions that he's not going to stoop so low to borrow some
dirty monsters. Loki then says fine, it's your loss, and transforms
using the Dragon Orb. Loki kills off Sult, then he goes on to kill
 Odin. Disk 2.

 world reviving, complete with sound.
07 - 5-C = After the movie, Loki is surprised at Valkyrie's power to give

-[ Dypan Sub Menu ]-
01 - Li݁j = This is Dypan's event. This option takes you to the
Central Square in the present. Nothing much of interest, maybe because
I already cleared this event when I used the Debug Mode.
03 - B-10i݁j = Present Castle with enemies roaming around. From
here, you can warp to the past.
04 - A-1i݁j = Valkyrie steps into the machine, and she gets warped

escaping. If you already cleared this event, you won't see this for a
 second time.
12 - D-1i݁j = Dypan Castle, present - inside the hidden room behind
the stained glass window. Normally you will fight the three mages, but
if you already cleared this event, there won't be a battle.

GfBOCia`cj = Ending C - Odin and Frei talking after Renas
is eliminated. They decide to use Arlie for Valkyrie's astral body.
There is some concern over Arlie's past with Brahms, but they go ahead
 with the plan. Game Over.
SԂɂ = Have all party members. After selecting this feature,
check [Party] under the status menu, and you should see all members,
including the Seraphic Gate members. There is one problem with this
feature, though. If you select this option, it also resets to Chapter
 zero.
SԂO = Remove all party members. Everyone will be gone,
except for Valkyrie. Selecting this option will also reset back to
Chapter zero, so be careful. Actually, selecting the [Sono Ta] menu
will cause it to reset, so be careful.

Battle Debug Menu

The Battle Debug is a separate feature from the Debug Room, in that this
menu is used while fighting a battle. There are some neat stuff you can
do, so read on.

Enter the following code in the GameShark.

-----------------------------------
Battle Debug Code (Press R2+Select)

D002B698 0102
8009CFC0 0006
D002B698 0102
8009D018 0007

Now start your game and when you get into a battle, you can access this
secret menu. When it is your turn, press R2 and Select buttons at the
same time. Now notice you can move the cursor off to the left. It
should read [ fobO@\ ] (Debug Kinou). This is the battle debug
menu. Hit the enter button and you will hear a buzz. Now use the Up or
Down key on the Direction-pad to switch between characters. Hit the
enter button once again to access the Main Battle Debug Menu,
which looks like what you see below.

it is displayed in the game.

using this mode is that it won't cost CP, and some skills can go higher
than normal levels. Use the circle button to increase the level by 1.
If it reaches 8 and you press circle again, the level resets to 0.

Throw - Normally level 1 is the max, but here you can set it to level 8.

Concentration - Normally this skill's max level is 5, but here you can
 set it to level 8.

Mental Reaction - Normally this skill can only go up to level 4, but
using the debug, you can see this skill can be set to level 8. At level
8, this skill will set your CT (charge time) to 0, at minimal cost of
DME. For magic users only though.

Counter - Again, level 1 is the max level, but the debug allows you to
set this skill to level 8.

Q&A

Question and Answer Section.

Q. When using the Debug Room features, after selecting the event I want
to see, I see a ReTry CD on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen,
and the game hangs. What does that mean?
A. It means you are on the wrong Disk. Certain events have voice clips
associated with them, and being on the wrong Disk causes the game to
hang while searching for a file that doesn't exist.

Q. Is it safe to mix skills together using the Battle Debug?
A. Yes. I use Splash and Reverie together, and I haven't had any
problems. A note for magic users, using Mental Reaction and Wait
Reaction together. It seems like you can't use them both, in my
experience, Mental Reaction overrides Wait Reaction. Another note is
that Mental Reaction at Level 4 takes away about 1/3 of your total DME,
while at Level 8, it only consumes 1/10 of your total DME.
Combine that with Steal Magic at Level 8, and your DME will recover
   quickly.

Q. Is this game mod-chip protected?
A. In a word, no. I own a modded Playstation that can play both Japanese
and US games. I also own the Japanese version of this game and I have
   had no problems playing it.

Q. Loki's Dragon Orb spell. That is so cool...is there a way to use it
   for myself?
A. Yes, but you do need a GameShark. Enter the following code, and
   follow the instructions.
   --------------------------------------
Use Dragon Orb Spell (Press R1+Circle)
   --------------------------------------
   D002B698 0028
   800EC1EC 000C

Make sure you have a staff that can use Great Magic, like Unicorn's
Horn, Apocalypse, or Mystic Wiser. Assign your mage to the 4th
position, the circle button (Your mage is most likely there anyway).
Equip one of the staffs listed above, then equip your mage with any
attack magic. Get into battle, and press the R1+Circle buttons once.
Your mage should perform the magic you set up earlier. Be careful
not to press R1+Circle while the mage is performing their finisher.
Now try to combo and bring that green gauge to 100. Pull off your
mage's finisher as usual. You will see the Dragon Orb spell. Since
this is an enemy only spell, it does 3 hits, but doesn't add to the
combo gauge. Spells like [Meteo Swarm] and [Celestial Star] may be
more powerful, but the [Dragon Orb] is the coolest looking spell.
Note: The Dragon Orb spell has ice elemental properties, so you can
use it in place of Absolute Zero or Delta Strike. It will do double
damage to any foe weak aganist ice.

Q. I feel kind of restricted in terms of where I can go. Is there a way
to visit any dungeon I want?
A. Use this code.
   -----------------------------------
   Open All Dungeons (Press L2+Select)
   -----------------------------------
   D002B698 0101
   80040632 2C02

On the World Map, open the status menu by hitting the triangle button.
Cancel out by hitting the X button, then quickly hold L2+Select while the
screen fades. If you did it correctly, you will see a lot of red dots
on the map. You can now go to any dungeon you want, even Disk 2
dungeons on Disk 1. Notice there a few extra dungeons that are
available. Don't get too excited, since entering any of these dummied
out dungeons will take you to the Suzuran Lily Field.
Here is a list of the removed dungeons and their locations.

   1) ̖upYv (Yet To Be Named [Puzzle]) - North of Brahms'
Castle, South of the Arcdine Ruins
   2) ̖uVCv (Yet To Be Named [Weather]) - Northeast of the
Amenty Tombstone, Northwest of the Saxxs Erosion Cave
   3) a (Ant Mound) - South of Firan
   4) Yp̓A (Cave of Oblivion) - West of Brahms' Castle, in the middle
    of the ocean
   5) Yp̓A (Cave of Oblivion) - The top left corner of the World Map,
in the middle of the ocean
   6) ⓴A (Rock Caves) - Near the Mount Altoria Ruins, this cave got
    moved to inside Camille Village

Q. I want to use Frei, Brahms, and Rezard in the regular game, not just
the Seraphic Gate. Hook me up with the codes!
A. Enter the following code:
   --------------------------------
   All Party Members (L1+L2+Circle)
   --------------------------------
   D002B698 0025
   8005B47C 0000

Open the status menu, and put the cursor over Party. Hold the
L1+L2 buttons and press Circle. Now look at the list, and all
party members should be on the list. You can add the Seraphic
Gate members too. Just be careful not to place the duplicate
Valkyrie in the party, otherwise you will have two Valkyries
in the party, and you can't remove her.
Note that the timing is strict in the button presses. Keep all
three buttons pressed down and it should work. If it doesn't,
then take off the 1st line, and only enter the 8005B47C 0000
part. This will cause a messed up data screen, so only activate
the code when you need it and turn it off when you don't need
it. That's the reason I put it under the button presses, so you
won't have to keep switching the codes on and off.
I have played through the game on Hard Mode with the party of
Valkyrie, Frei, Brahms, and Rezard, and encountered no major
problems. The only thing to be careful is don't use this party
in the final battle of the "A" ending route. Same goes for
Rucio. The game will hang in attempt to load sprites that
   don't exist.

Q. Help, I need more time in Bramhs Castle - 4 minutes is too short.
A. ----------------------------
   Brahms Castle Time Stop (L2)
   ----------------------------
   D002B698 0001
   80073BF0 0000

Press L2 to stop the timer. After battle or after checking the
mini-map, the timer will run again, so press L2 to stop it once
   more.

Q. Who is the voice actor of Rezard Valis? That is so cool.
A. Rezard's voice is done by Takehito Koyasu iqlj. He also did
the voice of Shingo Yabuki i^j,from the King of Fighters '97,
   '98, '99, and confirmed for 2000.

Miscellaneous Information

-----------
Bug Related
-----------
* If you try to load a saved game from the World Map, sometimes the game
freezes. It is safer to load from inside a dungeon or town.

* After a battle is over, the game freezes. This bug usually occurs when
you rapidly tap the enter button, in a effort to speed things up.
Although it may be time-consuming, don't tap the buttons. Let the
characters finish speaking their win quotes, and usually you will fine.
Just be careful if you are treasure hunting from enemies. The game
loves to freeze on you on the treasure box screen after battle, if you
play for a long time. I have had it happen 3 times when gathering
raw materials from enemies using Rucio's [Shining Bolt]. I didn't save
in a long time, which hurts even more.

* Have Gannosa in your party. Equip him with a staff that can use Great
Magic (like Unicorn's Horn) and equip the spell [ Shadow Servant ].
When in battle, pull off his finisher move [ Meteo Swarm ]. After the
spell is over, the game freezes for about 30 seconds, then returns to
normal. The game has a high chance of crashing after battle though.

* During the Iselia Queen battle, no voices are played during the Great
Magic summoning. This bug is probably due to the Playstation's
memory restriction. So how are you going to get her [ Final Cherio ]
voice? One solution is to enter battle with 3 or less characters, but
that is almost like suicide. Another way is to shuffle your line-up to
see what works. I used a party of Valkyrie, Jyun, Suo, and Riselia.

* After the Iselia Queen battle, only if you caused her to transform, then
you may have noticed the tempo of the sound has sped up. After clearing
the Seraphic Gate, go back to the title screen and check the Sound Mode.
You will see that the tempo is still sped up! Try playing a few tracks
and notice how fast it plays. Try playing the Opening Movie and watch
the music play off-key. If you reset the game, then the tempo goes back
  to normal.

* If you send Riselia up to Valhalla, then she won't come back to your
party for the Seraphic Gate. Where did she go? You can get Riselia
in the Arcdine Ruins in Chapter 7 on Hard mode. Since she is a
powerful mage, you probably won't send her up anyway. Just keep
her in the party, and she will make it to the Seraphic Gate.

* In Camille Village, go to the dungeon inside (Rock Caves). At the first
ladder you see, notice that the ceiling is hanging close to the ladder.
Climb on the ladder, then jump straight up. You will then get stuck in
the ceiling. Keep trying if it doesn't work the first time. Once you
are stuck, you will have to reset the game.

* The False Clincher Bug - This involves the use of skills [Throw] and
[Strike Edge], and doing it will allow you to use Clinchers without
having your gauge at 100. However, it can freeze your game.

What you need - The skills [Throw] and [Strike Edge]
                - A weapon that can attack 3 times
                - The skill [False Arrow], optional

People that can use this bug - Valkyrie, Belinas, Rofar, Jyun, Grey,
and Brahms. Any other character will cause the game to freeze.
For Valkyrie, if she has a sword that can throw a javelin, then the game
will freeze. It is best to equip her with the [Valkyrie Favor] sword.
The game still may freeze with Valkyrie, so use at your own risk.

How the bug works - First equip a fighter type character with the [Throw]
and [Strike Edge] skill, plus a weapon which can hit 3 times. Now in
battle, if the character's Throw skill (the red sphere) gets blocked by
the enemy, and that character uses the Strike Edge skill (hold the
button down), then that character will perform their Clincher. If you
have an archer, then using the False Arrow will help the enemy guard.
By doing this bug, the graphics will look messed-up. (For example,
Rofar's Just Stream's hurricane will be dark black). The strength of
the False Clincher is the same as a normal clincher, and it will add to
the number of hits, and it will fill the clincher gauge. While the
False Clincher is active, your party can still attack, so it's easy to
combo. Afterwards, if the clincher gauge is full, then you can pull
off your real clincher. This bug allows you to pull off 2 clinchers in
   1 turn.

codes on, then turn them off. Save your game, reset, load the game
again without any codes on. Check the Voice Collection, and it should

* Loki's Hidden Voice - In the path to the "A" ending, versus Loki in the
final battle, after the first round, Loki says a message. The message
will change depending on the weapon Valkyrie has equipped.

  1) If Valkyrie is equipped with the Levantine sword, then Loki will say
  u@eCĂ̒xBv
[Maken Levantine Wo Motte Sono Teido Ka]
"Even with the Levantine Sword, that's the best you can do?"

  2) If Valkyrie is equipped with the Sylvan Bow, then Loki will say
  u|V@{EĂ̒xBv
[Koukyu Sylvan Bow Wo Motte Sono Teido Ka]
"Even with the Sylvan Bow, that's the best you can do?"

  3) If Valkyrie is equipped with anything else, then the message is
  uӂAF̒xBv
   [Fuu, Shosen Sono Teido Ka]
"(Humph Sound) After all that, that's the best you can do?"

The hidden voice is the second one, involving the Sylvan Bow. This
weapon exists only as a dummied out item, and cannot be obtained by
normal means. You need a GameShark to get this item.

The item will not show up in your inventory, but go to the equipment
screen, and you will see it there. Equip it on Valkyrie and fight!
Note that this weapon is pretty weak, with an Attack Power of 0,
Attack Trust 1, and Hit Trust 50 as its stats. It can attack 3 times
and makes Valkyrie use her Level 2 Nibelun Velocity (She throws her
  spear, but no explosion afterwards).
If you don't have a save file near the end handy, then use the Debug
Room's feature to jump quickly to this point in the game. The path is
  [Yam]->[30 - LƂ̐킢]->[02 - 5-A]
Just make sure you are on Disk 2, equip Valkyrie with the Sylvan Bow,
and most importantly, make sure Rucio, Frei, Brahms, and Rezard are
not in the party. If they are, the game will crash after round 1 of
the battle with Loki, since the four are not supposed to be there.
It is okay to leave them in reserve, but not okay to leave them in
  the current party.

* Extra Sound Tracks - In the last dungeon, save at the final save point.
It doesn't matter if it is in Yotsunhiem or at Asgald, they both work.
By doing so, the Seraphic Gate opens up, and extra music tracks will
become available. Go to Sound Mode and you can listen to 75 tracks.
Tracks 69-74 are music that is also used in Star Ocean: The Second
  Story.

Sacred Phase Related
--------------------
* The Sacred Phase is the period between chapters, where you can check up
on the Enfiriars you sent up. Each Enfiriar sent gets put in a team.
For example, if you send someone in Chapter 1, then they will get put
into team 1. There are a maximum of 5 teams. Here is a list. Remember
you can only send 2 people up per chapter.
  ------------------
  Chapter Team
  ------------------
  Chapter 1 Team 1
  Chapter 2 Team 2
  Chapter 3 Team 3
  Chapter 4 Team 4
  Chapter 5 Team 5
  Chapter 6 Team 1
  Chapter 7 Team 2
  Chapter 8 None

Notice that at Chapter 6, the Enfiriar you sent up will join the team you
sent up in Chapter 1. Since Chapter 8 is the final chapter, it has almost
no meaning to send up anyone, since there is no events.

* There are some special combinations of Enfiriar that you can send up to
see special events. It is best to send them up during the same Chapter.
You may have to wait 1 or 2 chapters to view these events. When Frei
asks who do you want to see, look for the options that are highlighted
in a different color. The two people listed must be on the same Team.

  1) Gerald + Badluck = Gerald wonders how Aryuze and friends are doing.
Badluck says there is no way Aryuze could be sad. Aryuze is out
there saying phrases like "Not enough killing" and "That was fun."
Gerald giggles and says that is not hard to imagine.

  2) Rofar + Kashel = Kashel asks "What's up?" when he finds Rofar. He
sees that Rofar is checking his supplies before heading out. Kashel
remarks that Rofar is serious, as usual. Rofar tries to deny it, but
Kashel knows. Kashel then says to work together, and Rofar agrees.

  3) Suo + Shiho = Suo (the red samurai) and Shiho (the singing princess)
meet again in Valhalla. Suo says that from now on he will protect her
and that no more sad feelings will fall upon her. Shiho replies
     "Suo-sama."

---------------------
Seraphic Gate Related
---------------------
* Rare Enemies - If you are getting bored with the Seraphic Gate, if you
beat Iselia Queen over 10 times, and feel like there is nothing else to
do, then you may want to try this. Hunt down these two elusive monsters.
Beware, since these monsters may be tougher to beat than the Iselia
  Queen.

* WCAgE[h (Giant Lord)
In the white floor of the Seraphic Gate, you will find a room that holds
the monsters, Lich and 3 Disaster Eyes. The Lich is a purple J.D.
Wallace clone, which drops an Eternity Garb. She doesn't have the
[Poison Blow] voice though. The characters will speak their versus weak
enemy quote, despite her being a powerful monster. The enemy that you
are looking for is the 3 Disaster Eyes. These enemies revive each other
if you don't all in the same round, which can be a pain. Keep battling
the 3 Disaster Eyes, and there is a small chance you will encounter the
Giant Lord instead. Keep trying if you're not successful the first time.
This enemy is a powered-up version of Sult, the "B" ending boss in the
normal game. He comes with 2 Van-Shinzoku, but they are not the problem.
The real problem is that the Giant Lord has 750,000 DME, and high defense
and high magic defense. When I say high, I mean spells like the mighty
Celestial Star do only 7 damage total! Here is list of his attacks.

  KEZ (Methods of Mayhem)
  --------------------------
tAEXgCN (Flare Strike) Explosive 3-hit combo against 1 target
tAEXg[ (Flare Storm) Raging fire that hits all party members
t@CAEX (Fire Lance) 2-hit arrows of flame spell
COj[gEWx (Ignite Javelin) 4-hit holy magic spell
}CgECtH[X (Might Reinforce) Increases his attack power 1.5x
LAEvX (Cure Plums) Heals 600,000 DME! That's insane!
Ct[gELX (Ifreet Caras) Same as the Clincher move.

   (Treasure)
  ---------------
  ~IEe[ (Seitsue Millon Teller)
  ~XeBbNECU[ (Seitsue Mystic Wiser)

The only way you can do decent damage to him is by casting Might
Reinforce on your party and Reduce Guard on him. Even so, at the 9th
turn or so, the Giant Lord casts the Cure Plums spell, which heals him
600,000 DME. That can destroy your hopes of beating him. The Giant Lord
is also immune to all status ailments, like most bosses.

* nX^[ (Hamster)
Also on the white floor of the Seraphic Gate, near the room leading to
the Iselia Queen, there is a room with a Black Valkyire, and a Lokinu
monster floating around. You can't tell from the outside, so you will
have to get into battle to see if you are in the right room. The one
you are looking for is the Lokinu monster, the "A" ending boss
look-a-like. Keep fighting this monster, (exiting the screen will cause
the monster to regenerate) and eventually you will run into the Hamster
Group. It may take 10 or more tries, depending on your luck. At first,
it may seem this group of 4 animals look cute, but soon you will realize
they can destroy you quickly. The worst part, is that the hamsters are
so tiny, that most attacks will miss hitting, which makes combos near
impossible. Even if you do connect, and manage to pull off your
Clincher, some of those moves miss too. Rucio's [Round-Lip-Sabre] - the
last 3 hits of the move totally whiff, which destroys your chance of
continuing the combo. The hamsters have 400,000 DME each, and are immune
to all status ailments. Thankfully, the hamsters have normal defense,
unlike the Giant Lord. Here is list of their wild attacks.

  KEZ (Methods of Mayhem)
  --------------------------
__˂ (Dada Wo Koneru) I have no idea what this does. The hamster
runs up to your party, lies on its back, and wiggles its feet around.
   Doesn't do any damage.
L[V[h (Killer Seed) The hamster goes up to one of your party
members, and throws a seed at them. Does 1 hit.
J~O (Come On Lemming) The hamster's most devastating attack.
The hamster lays on its back, wiggles its feet, and summons a huge army
of hamsters to trample over your party. This moves does an average of
40-52 hits total on your entire group, and does about 8000 damage per
hit, depending on your RDM. In other words, if you don't have Guts and
Auto-Item+Union Plum 100%, you won't survive this attack.
t@CAEX (Fire Lance) Fire elemental spell
ACVNEGbW (Icicle Edge) Ice elemental spell
CgjOE{g (Lightning Bolt) Lightning elemental spell
VhDET[@g (Shadow Servant) Dark elemental spell
  |CYEuE (Poison Blow) Poison elemental spell
NXEGACh (Cross Airraid) Holy elemental spell

   (Treasure)
  ---------------
  _CXC (Maken Dainslef)
  ~XeBbNECU[ (Seitsue Mystic Wiser)

Getting a treasure chest out of a hamster is extremely tough. Even
Rucio's [Shining Bolt] will completely miss if timed incorrectly. You
may have better luck using a bow & arrow and magic to pop the hamsters
up in the air. Turn on the invincibility option in the battle debug
menu for both sides if you need help. This way, you can practice trying
to hit the hamsters without worrying about their attacks. The hamsters
have the tendency to use the Come On Lemming attack frequently when
they get low on DME. This is annoying to say the least.
