INTRO
*****

Well, this is my very first FAQ. I probably wouldnt be writing this if I
didnt just get a really comfortable couch for playing video games on. I
found Top Gear 3000 much more fun than Top Gear and even Super Mario Kart.
Its definitely one of the most fun racing games for the SNES.

*****************
CHAMPIONSHIP MODE
*****************

This is the main mode. You race 20 cars here. Note that you can only play
with 1 or 2 players in this mode.

Okay, after you click on Championship, you get a list that looks like this I
wrote a description after each one.

Options Set the difficulty to easy, medium, or hard and either leave the
music on or turn it off.

1 player full 1 player game using the full screen.

1 player split 1 player game with you racing on the top and a computer
player racing on the bottom.

2 players Player 1 races on the top and player 2 races on the bottom.

Password You get a password after every few races and this is where you
put it in to continue your game. Remember to write down your passwords!

Exit Takes you back to the first screen where you either choose
Championship or VS. mode.

After you select how many players you want, a menu comes up that looks like
this and I also put a description after each.

Name You put in your name here.

Control Select which buttons you want to use when you race. Here are the
defaults.

Accelerate X
Brake Y
Use Weapon A
Weapon up R
Weapon down L

Change them to whatever youre comfortable with. If your wondering what
weapon up and down does, you dont use them until the jump device or others
are invented. Then you can switch off between your boosts and your jump
device or whatever other weapons you have.

Speed Choose if you want your speed in MPH or KPH.

Race Start racing!

***************************
WINNING CREDITS AND BONUSES
***************************

After each race you win credits if you place in the top 9. 10th place
qualifies, but doesnt win any credits. Heres a list of how many credits
you win for each place.

1st 100,000 credits
2nd 80,000 credits
3rd 70,000 credits
4th 60,000 credits
5th 50,000 credits
6th 40,000 credits
7th 30,000 credits
8th 20,000 credits
9th 10,000 credits
10th Qualifies but no credits. You can collect bonuses though.

If you place worse than 10th, you lose and go back to the main menu. So make
sure to write down passwords.

You can also get bonus credits after each race. Here are the different
bonuses you can win.

Bonus A You get this bonus by using a boost when you cross the finish line
on the last lap. Easy enough? 30,000 credits

Bonus B Ive never got this bonus and I dont even know if there is a
bonus B. If you know anything about this bonus, E-mail me and youll get
full credit.

Bonus C This is the biggest bonus and hardest to get. You get this bonus
if you dont run into the back of any cars the whole race. Its harder to
get the farther you get into the game. 70,000 credits

Bonus D You get this one if you dont crash into any objects during the
race. This also is harder to get the farther you get into the game. 40,000
credits

Bonus E You get this bonus if you stay completely on the road the whole
race. 20,000 credits

*****************

*****************

After each race it shows you how many credits you earned, the current

************************************************
INFO ON TRACKS AND GAMEPLAY IN CHAMPIONSHIP MODE
************************************************

First, Ill tell you what a speed arrow, warp, bonus credits, and turnoffs
are. Then Ill tell you what happens when you run out of gas.

Speed arrow Its a yellow arrow on the road. If you run over it, it boosts
your speed by about 20 MPH.

Warp It looks like a green diamond on the road. When you hit it, it zaps
you underground and back up farther away in hardly any time. You come back
out a yellow diamond on the road. Some are longer than others.

Bonus credits Theyre shaped like orange circles and you get 4000 bonus
credits for each one you hit. Sometimes you hit a jump to get them, and
sometimes theyre just lying on the road.

Turnoff When you come to a turnoff, you either turn left or right. Usually
one ways longer than the other and they always meet later. But the long way
usually has bonus credits on it or other good stuff you can get.

When you run out of gas your car slows down. A lot of times if you crash
when youre out of gas, your car will slow way down to around 25 MPH. The
only way you can speed back up is if another car runs into you. So its
always good to stop or slow down in the gas so you dont run out.

Next, Ill give you a description of each track. Note that these are all the
tracks on the hardest level. On the easier levels, you wont see all of
these tracks. Ill list the length, conditions, system, name, and how many
laps each track has.

clue what that is. If you know anything about the Hyper Space Race, E-mail
me and you'll get credit.

********
VS. MODE
********

In this mode, you can have up to 4 players with the Multi Player Adapter.
First, it asks you your name. Then you get to choose one of four cars to
race with. Each car is different. Heres a list of them.

Car A The Cheetah, high acceleration, low max speed, medium boost.
Car B The Demon, high acceleration, medium max speed, low boost
Car C The Phantom, medium acceleration, low max speed, high boost
Car D The Pegasus, low acceleration, high max speed, medium boost

You get four boosts each race just like in Championship Mode. The player
with the highest score after eight races wins. Heres how they score you.

1st place 10points
2nd place 6 points
3rd place 3 points
4th place 0 points

****
TIPS
****

Always save a boost for the last lap. Use it just before you cross the
finish line to get that 30,000 credit bonus.

Try to stop or slow down in the gas to make sure you dont run out later in
the race.

Try not to use your boosts around sharp corners because youll crash most of
the time. Its best to use them on straightaways.

Save your credits to buy good things for your car. Dont spend your credits
on #2 items that dont do much to your car.

Try to buy some items at the same time. For example, if you have a really
fast engine and no good tires to go with it, youll be crashing all the
time. So its good if you buy your engine and tires at or close to the same
time.
