Boss difficulty meter:

*= Pathetically easy
**= Easy
***= Fairly difficult
****= Very tough

Deku Tree Bosses

Gohma: Throw a Deku nut to stun it, then slash it in the eye with your sword.
When it climbs on the ceiling and drops eggs, take them out quickly before
they become Gohma Larvae. A Deku Stick or two will help to make the battle
shorter.

Difficulty **

Dodongo's Cavern

Lizalfos- Block their attacks with your wooden shield. Right after they
attack, hit them with one of your own attacks. Once again, a Deku stick may
help here.

Difficulty **

King Dodongo- This is the easiest boss in the game. Throw a bomb into it's
mouth right before it's about to spit fire, then jab him in the head with a
jump attack. He takes about 4 hits. When he starts rolling, just duck into a
corner until he stops.

Difficulty *

Jabu Jabu's Belly

Tentacles- Come close to make the tentacle come down from the ceiling, then
throw the boomerang at the narrow part of it. Back off after each attack so
you don't get hit with a retaliating swipe that deals a lot of damage.

Difficulty **

Squid- Hit it with the boomerang to stun it when it runs towards you. After
recovering, it will spin around and go the direction it ended up facing. If it
goes the other way, quickly hit it again and stab it in the glowing thing on
it's back. You can also try freezing it when it's spinning.

Difficulty ***

Barinade- Cut off the tentacles at the top of the critter with your Boomerang.
When it shoots off the jellyfish, hit it with the Boomerang to break it's
connection to the jellyfish. Then take out as many jellyfish as you can.
Repeat until all the jellyfish are gone, then hit the body with the boomerang
and stab at it until it's dead.

Difficulty ***

Forest Temple

Stalfos: Wait until they lower their guard (after swiping at you or just
before an attack) and hit them with your sword. Kill them quickly. If you take
too long killing one, the other will revive itself.

Difficulty **

Poe Sisters: Hit them and they'll turn invisible and start waving their torch
at you. Avoid the torch until they become visible again, then attack.

Difficulty *

Last Poe Sister: The last Poe Sister splits into four beings. Only one is
real. Watch the ghosts as they appear. The real Poe Sister is the one that
spins around once before circling you. Hit the real one with an arrow. Repeat
until the last Poe Sister is defeated.

Difficulty **

Phantom Ganon: He'll jump out of a painting and shoot a big lightning bolt
through the ground. Hit him as he jumps out of the painting with an arrow.
After about three hits, he'll ditch his horse and fight you one-on-one. When
he fires a ball of energy at you, hit it back with your sword (remember
Aghanim from Link to the Past?). The only trick is that he may hit it back.
Keep hitting it back and forth until he takes the hit, then run up and hit him
with your sword.

Difficulty ***

Fire Temple

Fire Spirits: When it appears, hit it with a bomb and the fire around it will
dissapear, and he'll try to evade you. Wait until he runs around the pillar,
then hit him with your sword. After a few hits, he'll jump into the fire and
regain his firey armor.

Difficulty *

Volvagia: He'll randomly pop out of one of the holes. Hit him with your hammer
to stun him (it's like a variation of Whack-a-mole), then hit him with a jump
attack for some good damage. The next time he pops up, he'll either fly around
and drop rocks on you, or try to damage you by ramming you. You can avoid the
rocks by hanging off the edge of the platform, and if you are careful, you can
get him to circle you without being hit.

Difficulty **

Water Temple

Dark Link: He's one of the toughest mini bosses in the game. He can usually
block all of your attacks. A good way to beat him is not to Z target him and
try to hit him with your hammer. A more difficult method it to keep backing
away and hit him with an arrow. Or you can use the cheapest (and easiest) way
of doing it: Use Din's Fire and he'll fall into the ground and resurface a few
moments later. When he appears, immediately use it again. Repeat until he is
defeated.

Difficulty ****

Morpha: When it rises from the water, it will usually try to grab you and
throw you into the spikes on the walls. Avoid this at any cost, it does major
damage. Use the Long Shot and grab the red "eye", then hit it with your sword.

Difficulty ***

Dark Temple

Dead Hand: Let yourself be caught by one of the hands, then quickly shake free
when the creature surfaces. Hack away with your sword. If you have the Lens of
Truth, you will be able to see where the critter is burrowed. Drop a bomb on
that spot, then hack away at him again.

Difficulty ***

Bongo Bongo: Most of his attacks will be hard to avoid. Activate the Lens of
Truth and shoot his hands with Arrows or the Longshot. When both hands have
been hit, he'll back up and prepare to charge. Hit him in the eye, then hit
his eye with your sword while he's stunned.

Difficulty ****

Gerudo Village

Gerudo Thieves: They're quick and can dodge most of your attacks. After they
take a swing, hit them with a retaliating stab. Jump to the side when they try
to do a "spin" attack. If you're hit, they'll throw you back in their prison.
Each one gets slightly tougher to beat.

Difficulty ***

Spirit Temple

Iron Knuckles: These guys are slow, but extremely strong. Hit them, then
quickly do a backflip to avoid their swinging axe. For best results, activate
Nayru's Love, which grants you temporary invincibility. You will still get
knocked backwards by their blows, but you will not take damage. After a lot of
hits, you may knock off some of it's armor, making it slightly faster. When
that happens, let it swing, move in, attack, and quickly back off.

Difficulty ****

Twinrova: Twinrova begins as two different forms. Koume uses fire attacks and
Kotake uses ice attacks. When one fires a blast of ice or fire, try to hit the
other one by bouncing it off the Mirror shield. After they take four hits,
they will merge into one form, which throws both fire and ice. Absorb three of
the same blast and it will automatically fire back at them. When it hits,
quickly jump to the platform where they land and attack with your sword. It
will take a lot of hits to finish off Twinrova.

Difficulty ***

Gannondorf: The battle starts out much like that with Phantom Ganon. Jump off
the center platform after he knocks out some of the floor tiles or he may
knock out more tiles that you might need. When he throws an energy shot,
reflect it back with your sword. It may take several tries before it hits him.
When he takes a hit from his energy bolt, shoot him with a Light arrow. When
he falls down stunned on the center tile, swipe at him with your sword. After
he takes a lot of hits, he'll use a new attack. He'll summon a huge amount of
energy and fire six beams at you. Hit him with a Light arrow while he is
distracted casting it to stun him again. If you are too slow and miss the
chance to shoot him, keep close to the wall and quickly run away. If you fall
into the pit below, quickly climb back up and get off the center platform
ASAP.

Difficulty ****

Ganon: Well, Ganondorf has returned in a new form, and he's really pissed off.
When he knocks away the Master Sword, take out the Biggoron's Sword (if you
have it) or the Megaton Hammer. Avoid his big blades, as they do lots of
damage. He may randomly destroy the ruins of the castle and reveal Hearts or
other items occasionally. Run around Ganon and attack his tail to do damage.
After a few hits, he'll be stunned long enough for you to get the Master Sword
back. But when he gets back up, he will be much quicker, so you can't just run
behind him. Instead, take out a Bomb or a Light Arrow and hit him in the head
with it. He'll be stunned momentarily. Attack his tail with the Master Sword
before he recovers. After a few more hits, Zelda will pin him with a magic
spell while you deal the final blow.
