-= 2. Introduction -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Excitebike is one of the first motorcycle racing games for the Nintendo
Entertainment System. It is a side-scrolling track where you race with other
computer-controlled racers while jumping ramps and such. What makes this game
unique is the fact that you can customize and create your very own track that
you can race on. Since it's an old game, it isn't too flashy looking, but this
is the game for you if you just want to play a very short and simple motorcycle
racing game for your NES.

-= 3. Controls -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Start: Pause game

Select: Move down list of options in menu screens

A: Accelerate, select options in menus

B: Turbo acceleration (don't use this too much because it'll cause your bike
to overheat; ride over a cool zone to prevent that)

Up/Down: Move up/down list of options, steer bike

Left: Leans bike backward while riding on the track and in the air

Right: Leans bike forward while in the air (don't try this when you're about
to hit the ground because you'll flip over and lose precious time in
       the race)

Selection A
-----------

You can race by yourself on any of the 5 tracks, or a custom-made one you
designed. This is perfect if you just want to practice or get used to a certain
track before you participate in an actual race.

Selection B
-----------

You race against other computer-controlled enemy bikes on any of the 5 tracks,
as well as one you designed. Each race lasts 2 laps, and if you're the winner
of the race, you'll automatically go on to the next track.

Design Mode
-----------

In Excitebike, you're able to create your own track. You can design a track and
race on it either by yourself or against computer-controlled players. In design
mode, there are 19 letters, each with a different track alteration to choose
from, as well as a clear command which lets you clear what you just placed, and
an End command, which places a "Finish" platform on the track. You can also
select how many laps your track is. Here, I'll list what each different
alteration is and what letter it is under:

A: Small hill

B: Same as A, only larger

C: Same as B, only larger

D: A flattop hill

E: Tall, steep hill

F: Hill with left side in a 45-degree angle

G: Same as F, but the 45-degree angle is on the other side

H: Ramp in a 45-degree angle placed along the top half of the track

I: A small hurdle placed along the top half of the track

J: A small hurdle on the bottom half of the track

K: Small skid areas are placed along the first and third lanes of the track

L: Small skid areas area placed on the second and bottom lanes of the track

M: A cool zone (arrow) is placed on the top lane of the track

N: A cool zone (arrow) is placed on the bottom lane of the track

O: A large section of track is taken from the third and bottom rows and
   replaced with grass

P: A large section of track is taken from the top and second lanes of the
   track and replaced with grass

Q: A block of grass is placed on all 4 lanes of the track

R: A large hill with a flat top appears on all 4 lanes of the track

S: A hill with a section of elevated track; the track is above the first and
second lanes and everything below is replaced with grass

CL: Clears the landform you just placed on the track and is right in front of
    you

END: Places a Finish platform on the track, which spans across all 4 lanes of
track. When you place it, you can pick what lap it symbolizes by using
the Up/Down buttons (the maximum is 9 laps)
