1.Introduction
----------------
Magic Sword was originally released as a arcade game in Japan in
1990. It was a gigantic sucess, as it borrowed and improved many game
formulas, such as Gauntlet and Goledn Axe, and turned it into a side-
scrolling adventure. It was then rereleased by Capcom on the SNES, and
was never brought to the U.S. However, its a popular ROM, and here is a
walkthrough to help you through it.

2.Overview And Controls
-------------------------
You are a warrior who must cleanse a Tower of Evil. You must
fight all the enemies on each floor, get treasure, find keys, and open
the door to the next level. I think there are 50 levels, but correct me
if Im wrong. The controls are :

D-Pad - Move the warrior
Y - Attack with sword
B - Jump ( Hold Up while jumping to get a higher jump)
X - Zenidein

3.Allies
---------
There are eight allies in the game. Each ally is good or bad for a
situation, but it mostly relies on how you want to play the game. Also,
your allies level up and get better attack when you get a Red Heart, or
open a door with the same ally inside. The allies are rated on a 1 to 5
star scale.

Archer
The archer is a blond woman who shoots two arrows straight ahead. When
she gets to a higher level, she gains flame arrows.
Pro: Has good range, easy to aim
Con: Weak attack power
Rating: ***

Thief
The thief throws bombs at an angle. The bombs do more damage when he
gets to a higher level, and he becomes a great ally. Also, the thief has
the ability to tell if a chest is trapped or not.
Pro: Good damage
Con: Not worth it until the higher levels
Rating: ***

Ninja
The ninja throws out three ninja stars in a fan. The ninja stars
bounce off structures and more are thrown when the ninja gets to a
higher level.
Pro: Great spread attack, good room clearer
Con: His high level attacks can't compare to others
Rating: ***

Wizard
The wizard had four orbs that circle around him and shoot out staright
ahead. The wizard's orbs get bigger when he gets to a higher level.
Pro: Takes out almost every enemy
Con: Needs time to recharge between attacks
Rating: ***

Giant
The giant throws a two-headed axe staight ahead. The axe gains a gold
tint and does more damage when he gets to a higher level.
Pro: Strongest attack out of all the allies
Con: Weak range
Rating: ***

Cleric
The cleric has three orbs that circle around him and shoots straight
ahead. The orbs home in on enemies.
Pro: The amazing combination of a ninja and a wizard
Con: Almost never find him, loooong recharge time
Rating: ***

Lizardman
The lizardman will not join you unless you have a Diamond Ring in
your item box. If you do not have a Diamond Ring in your item box, he
will attack you like a normal enemy would. He throws 3-5 swords in a
straight line, and his sword's do more damage when he gets to higher
levels.
Pro: Tough and unbelieveable damage
Con: Requires an item to get him
Rating: ****

Knight
The knight throws 2-5 spears in a spread across the screen. His spears
do more damage whn he gets to a higher level.
Pro: The best ally in the game, period
Con: Only found in later levels, hard to level-up
Rating: *****

4.Walkthrough
---------------
You have two basic attacks: the sword missle and the sword strike,
with an additional attack in the Zenidein. The sword missle is a short-
range missle that will fire from your sword. The Magic meter in the
lower-right of the screen will flash red when the missle is ready, or
when the number above the meter are more than 00. The sword strike is a
basic slash that can be performed at any time with the default Y button.
The Zenidein is a room-clearing move that takes out all the enemies on
the screen at the loss of one bar of life.
Although this isn't a step-bystep walkthrough, Ill list what is in
the treasure chests, doors, and the enemies on the level. Ill also list
any secrets in the level. All lists are in order. When you see an (U) or
an (D) after a treasure chest item or door, I am describing the door
nearest to the top of the screen with a (U) and the one on the bottom
with a (D). If a door or treasure chest is trapped, a (T) will appear
after it. Also, the door to the next level of the castle is always a
light blue, so go through them to reach the next level.
