1. General Info / Controls
==========================

Amen, amen, amen...
I finally got my greedy hands on King of Fighters 2000 and decided
to write an FAQ for my favorite character.
Why do I like Ramon?
Well, he has decent strength and speed, he has nice colors (I like green, so
shoot me)
and funny voice.
(VIVA MESHICO! SAAAAMMMSSSSS!)
There's my motivation.
Now, enjoy.

Pro's :
+ He has fast speed for a grappler.
+ Some of his attacks can be really surprising, which is effective.
+ VIVA MESHICO! ('Nuff said)

Con's :
- Not the best strength, bad since he is a grappler.
- His grabs could use more priority.

Finally, reading this FAQ, I assume you know all the basic controls and
other things you need to know
to play King of Fighters 2000.
Just to insure that I won't get mails in which I can read "What is that and
what is that..."
If you wanna know how to play the game, there are other FAQ's for that
purpose.

With that said, on to the controls:

ub u uf Jump Backward Jump Up Jump Forward
  \  |  /        (up-back)             (up)         (up-forward)

  /  |  \        (back)                             (forward)
db d df Crouch Block Crouch Offensive Crouch
                    (down-back)           (down)       (down forward)

dir. : Any of the eight directions can be used: u (up), d (down)
          b (back), f (forward), ub (up back), uf (up forward)
          db (down back) or df (down forward).
qcf : Roll the joystick from d to f (d,df,f)
qcb : Roll the joystick from d to b (d,db,b)
hcf    :  Roll the joystick from b to d to f  (b,db,d,df,f)

  his chest."

4. Detailed Move List
=====================

=Normal Commands=

Arm Whip                                 When close, b / f + C
Flying Mayor                             When close, b / f + D

================================================================================
Teikuu Drop Kick                                                          df
+ B
The only Normal Command worthy of describing is the Teikuu Drop Kick.
It has Ramon sliding down for a fast hit on the enemy.
Surprisingly enough, it's both fast AND quite strong.
In fact, you should use it whenever you get a chance too.
================================================================================

=Special Attacks=

================================================================================
Tiger Neck Chancery When close, hcf
+ P
A 1 Hit
C 1 Hit
Ramon's wonderful grab, which (surprise) is quite effective.
It has Ramon grabbing his enemy and slamming him down on the back of him.
(I've bet you've seen that kind of move before in "real" wrestling)
You should use it as soon as you get a chance to.
The only bad thing would be that lacks some priority.
(In other words, if almost any other character makes a grab at the same
point as you do, he / she will hit, not you.
No significant difference between A and C version.
================================================================================

================================================================================
Rolling Sobat                                                         f,d,df
+ K
B 1 Hit
D 1 Hit
Fast hitting jump kick which has Ramon saying "Sobat" in a very weirdish
way.
Anyhow, it's decent and comes out fast.
I'd stick to it, and you can follow it up with a Flying Body Attack.
The B version comes out faster and thus damages less.
================================================================================

================================================================================
Flying Body Grab f,d,df + K from Rolling
Sobat
B 1 Hit
D 1 Hit
A simple follow up to the Rolling Sobat in which Ramon does a "frog splash"
on the enemy.
No difference in B and D version.
Abuse it by the way ;D.
================================================================================

================================================================================
Somersault                                                               hcf
+ K
B 1 Hit
D 1 Hit
A move in which Ramon runs forth to the enemy and if he connects, he'll do
a flip/kick/somersault/something back into fighting stance.
It's a fair move.
Has quite nice priority and comes out fast.
Damage is fine too.
The D version makes him run longer than the B version, always remember that.
================================================================================

================================================================================
Feint Step                                                       qcb + P,
hold P
A 1 Hit
C 1 Hit
Ramon begins to trip back a few steps, as if escaping, then depending on
version used, he'll attack.
If using A version, you can release P for a Drop Kick.
If using C, it works like an escape. (aka stepping out of danger)
================================================================================

=Desperation Moves=

================================================================================
El Diablo Amarillo Ramon [1 Power Stock] qcb,hcf
+ K
13 Hits
Yippie!
A wonderful move!
Oh you gotta love the rush DM's!
Anyhow, it has Ramon running towards the enemy, if he connects, he will
punish the enemy with continious hits until he gets 12 of them, then he'll
Feint Step back ending the DM with a Drop Kick.
PERFECTION!
Comes out fast and has nice damage.
What more can you request?
================================================================================

================================================================================
Tiger Spin [1 Power Stock] When close, hcb,hcb
+ P
1 Hit
His grab DM.
He grabs the enemy and starts dancing around, then slams him / her to the
ground.
It has a very satisfying growl of a tiger in the end of it.
Where the heck does it come from anyway?
Anyhow, it has nice damage indeed and if it had a tad bit better priority,
it would be more useful than the El Diablo Amarillo Ramon.
================================================================================

================================================================================
SDM Tiger Spin [Jaguar Spin] [3 Power Stocks] When close, hcb,hcb
+ AC
3 Hits
The super version of the Tiger Spin still suffers the priority problem, but
on
the other hand he executes two Tiger Neck Chancery's before ending it with
the Tiger Spin.
VERY nice damage, if you manage to connect with it.
================================================================================

5. Combos
=========

[I know that you get this alot, but "COMBOS UNDER CONSTRUCTION".
However, I'll try and supply you with those I know...
Those I know are 3 100 % combos which might serve you well!]

1. Requirements: Seth striker, Opponent in corner, Must be in Counter mode.
Jump D > Stand C > Teikuu Drop Kick > Tiger Neck Chancery > Call Seth > Dash
In, C > Rolling Sobat (B Version)
>Rolling Sobat (B Version) > Flying Body Grab. [100 % DAMAGE!!!]

2. Requirements: Must be in Counter mode.
Jump D > Stand C > Teikuu Drop Kick > Feint Step (C Version) > Crouch C >
Teikuu Drop Kick > Feint Step (C Version)
>Dash In, Close C > Teikuu Drop Kick > DM Tiger Spin. [100 % DAMAGE!!!]

3. Requirements: Joe striker, Player in corner.
Stand C > Teikuu Drop Kick > Tiger Neck Chancery > Call Joe > Jump D > Stand
C > Rolling Sobat (B Version)
>Flying Body Grab > Call Joe > Stand C > Teikuu Drop Kick > SDM Tiger Spin.
>[100 % DAMAGE!!!]

===========
6. Strikers
===========

Presenting:
Ramon's Strikers!

================================================================================
Ramon                                                             Normal
Striker
6 Hits
Ramon comes out and dashes forward to the enemy, if he connects he'll
perform
a cheap version of the El Diablo Amarillo Ramon DM.
A nice striker.
First off because it's easier to hit with then most. (since Ramon "finds"
the
enemy himself)
And secondly since it's quite strong for a striker action.
It ends with a Rolling Sobat (B Version) which you may combo off.
================================================================================

================================================================================
Duke  [Burning Fight]                                            Another
Striker
1 Hit
Ramon's worthless Another Striker.
Why worthless?
Well, weak, only 1 hit...
Plus the fact that he only has that one uppercut move which is dead slow.
In addition, he must walk up to the enemy to perform it.
Since he is dead slow both while walking and while performing his action,
you'd do better in ignoring him.
"But it launches the enemy", sure, it does, but if you want launchers there
are MUCH better strikers for that purpose.
(Besides, Burning Fight sucked...)
================================================================================

================================================================================
Neo & Geo                                                         Maniac
Striker
1 Hit
[To use this striker, put cursor on Duke, then press U,L,L,L,R,R,R,D and
Duke will be replaced by this one.]
Well, this striker is beyond me.
It summons two stupid dudes with... different names.
They just stand still as one of them starts counting from 5 to 0 and
when he counts to 0, they will explode.
Sure, has nice reach.
Sure, has decent damage.
Damn, Ramon striker does more damage and is faster.
So, don't use this striker.
(Although you could use them to make traps on the stage since I don't think
they disappear if being hit...)
================================================================================

=========
7. Colors
=========

A weird section where I shall cover all the colors / outfits of Ramon.
This followed by my comments.
(My personal comments of course, you probably have a different opinion)

P [A,C] = Green outfit.
Everything green except vest and some other parts of the body.
(Since I like the color green, I like this.)

K [B,D] = Orange outfit.
Everything orange except vest and some other parts of the body.
(Looks decent, but doesn't fit Ramon's style as good.)

===============================
8. Viva Mexico! [Ramon's Story]
===============================

Ramon was a poor kid with limited resources as a child.
He had to work overtime in order to sustain himself and his family, doing
multiple jobs.
He was desperate since not even working day and night could he earn enough
money.
That was until one faithful day, when Ramon entered a wrestling arena...
Ramon was marveled at the sights of pro wrestling.
Wrestlers were living idols in Mexico, as popular as the president himself.
Their actions were worshipped, and their techniques, admired by thousands of
fans.
Ramon was so submerged into this world, that his life took only one path:
that of becoming
the best wrestler there ever was!
Ramon began his training under the teachings of a famous ex-wrestler, and
ever since the beginning, Ramon was pushed to the limits.
He had to have a lot of flexibility, movement, and strength in every hit and
throw he executed.
Ramon was a bit clumsy, so it took him some time.
His short size allowed him to move fast and scurry himself through the
opponent's arms and inflict damage himself.
It wasn't long until Ramon finally got into the big leagues, and he stayed
there
for a long time....
As a famous pro wrestler, Ramon gained the admiration of thousands of
wrestling fans by putting it all in every match.
His spectacular techniques and superb moves were more than enough to get the
crowd wild.
His charity actions towards the poor allowed him to sooth the pain of the
past.
After a short while, Ramon became the most famous wrestler in all Mexico.
But he knew he was limited to one country and one style, so he was anxious
to test new waters.
His chance would arrive soon....
After a championship match which Ramon won with ease, the Mexican wrestler
met up with a gorgeous woman in the dressing room.
Ramon shamefully tells the woman that the ladies' room is next door, but the
mystery woman was actually
looking for him, which ashamed Ramon even more.
The woman introduces herself as Vanessa, and she is looking for another
partner to team up with her and two
other partners, yet to be defined, and participate in the next King of
Fighters
tournament.
Ramon didn't know what that meant, but he knew he would be able to
expand his horizons futher, so he accepeted, his shame vanished.
Ramon has the "great luck" of teaming up with K' and Maxima, former Nests
agents, but he is still unknown to the fact of what Nests was.
Ramon lends the joy and light to the naturally-gloomy team members, and
contrasts a lot with K's
violence, Maxima's coldness, and Vanessa's inner despair.
With Ramon's help, he and his team manage to reach the finals, that will
take place in Southtown.
Ramon finally gets to know the Nests cartel better, when the location for
their
final battle, an abandoned factory, is ambushed by Nests soldiers, and they
head
right into a trap set up by one of the top head-honchos of the Nests cartel,
Zero!
Although Ramon can't fight too well against the powerful Zero, his desire
and passion for winning inspire the others to do their best as well.
When Zero is finally defeated, and the Zero Cannon condemns Southtown to
death, Ramon takes the wounded Vanessa on his shoulders and escapes through
an
underground passage.
As Vanessa awakens, Ramon explains the situation to her.
Vanessa is worried about Ramon's physical condition, but Ramon, with his
classical optimism, claims with a wide grin on his face:
"Being like this, I just couldn't be better!".
Ramon is a very jolly and hopeful wrestler.
His excitement in battle and his determination to fight to the very end no
matter what, makes all the
gloominess vanish around him.
He wishes his partners would be more happy, and
share this passion he feels when he wins.
His compassion for the poor children
has made him a very admired person in Mexico, and Ramon can only do his best
in
order to not let his fans down.

*Fun fact = As of late, Mexican wrestlers have been gaining a lot of
reputation
in the video game business.
They were mildy known by T.Hawk (from Capcom's
Street Fighter series), and Stinger (from Capcom's Saturday Night Slam
Masters
series).
But now you should know them better by the likes of King (from Namco's
Tekken series), Tizoc (from SNK's Garou: Mark of the Wolves), and now Ramon.
It
was about time, since Mexican pro wrestlers don't fake it as much as those
of
the WWF. :D
