Section I
---------
To those who are unfamiliar or don't remember, Alien vs. Predator was
released back in May of 1994. Many would agree that it was one of the
greatest 2D scrolling action games Capcom ever made. It was a shame
they couldn't port it over to the home systems. It was styled like
Final Fight, but it had some interesting elements such as the use of
secondary weapons, Street Fighter style moves, etc. I'm glad to see
players of today still have an interest in a game like this. It must
deserve its rewards. Enough with my babbling, LET'S DO THIS!

Section II
----------
Everywhere, I read of players using the Predators and Linn Kurosawa.
Now, where are the Dutch players? Many probably wonder, "Why do you use
a big oaf like him?" Well, in my background in 2D fighters, I would
always used the power hitters (Mike Haggar [Final Fight], O'Bradovich
[Cadallacs and Dinosaurs]), so it's almost second nature for me to pick
power hitters. In this game, Dutch is definitely the best at playing
the power game. It seems to be the only one who can overpower the
aliens in hand-to-hand combat going toe-to-toe. Finesse is not his
style, but tearing the enemies limb from limb by any means necessary is!

Note before Starting: Where the other three fighters jump by default
when pressing button 3, Dutch will dash by default, so pay close
attention to his moves.

Profile: Major Dutch Schaefer
Game Bio: A cyborg created to fight extra-terrestrials. He lost his
right arm in the 2nd Alien War, and has since had it replaced with a
smartgun rig. He lives only to avenge himself against the aliens!

Quotes:
Returning to battle - "Let's Party!"
Getting up from a fall - "Crap!" or "You Bugs!"
Picking up a weapon - "I got it."
When a boss appears - "Look out!"
Victory Stance - Standing firm, he looks up and let's out a huge roar
(like he did to summon the Predator in the movie)

Pros:
+ Insane level of power!
+ Superior dash attacks
+ Has the most versatile primary weapon overall
+ The Earthquake Bomb (see below) is the most damaging throw/slam
+ Absorbs the most punishment
+ Strong enough to use a pipe as a clobbering weapon instead of a
throwing weapon
Cons:
- Slow (a no brainer)
- No starting weapons like the other three (He does fine without one
anyway)
- Fewer number of moves in arsenal
- He's a big target (the biggest on the team)

Basic Moves
-----------
- Attack Chain: Two Low Blows, Left Jab, HUGE Right Hook
- Weapon: Rechargeable Smart Gun
	Things to Consider:
	- Dutch can fire his smart gun a little more than the Predators.
The Predator shoulder cannons can only pop off two shots before they
	overheat.
	- Dutch's gun can recharge, which is advantage over Linn's gun,
which stays where it is until she has to reload it or she picks up
a super shot.
- Jump: U, UB, or UF + 3
- Grab: Walk up to an enemy...preferably when their not going to hit
you

Special Moves
-------------
- Cyber Lariat: 2 + 3 - Dutch's 360 degree protection move. If you
time it right, you can pull this off after getting hit by an alien and
avoid from falling down. Like the other protection moves, this move
takes away a bit of your energy, but it's better than getting grabbed by
the Queen!
- Vertical Smash: D, U + 2 - A pseudo Dragon Punch where Dutch leaps
into the air with a leaping uppercut. While descending, he can fire his
smart gun by pressing 1 or 2 (Try tapping the button to pulse his fire).
Do this move after a dash attack for during your standard attack chain,
especially if you have super shot! You can control his arm with the
joystick, also.
- Special Dash Tactics: 3, then DF + 2 repeatedly - Dutch has several
variations of his dash attacks. If you hold DF while you attack, you
can hit enemies on the ground, or possibly trip bigger enemies like the
Power Loader or the Queen if you hit them enough. Play with this one
and see what you get.
- Spinning Drop Kick: Jump, then press 2 - Dutch puts a little spin on
a standard dropkick, but he doesn't jump very high. It does give you
enough power to stun an opponent to set up for your next move.
- Multi-Hit Pummel: Grab, then press 2 repeatedly (DON'T MOVE THE
STICK) - Dutch will smack them, then punch them, then drive them into
his knee, then possibly kick their head off! This is a good energy
drainer, but try not to do it with a whole crowd of aliens around!
- Neck Breaker: Grab, then move the stick in any direction and press 2 -
Dutch will do a leaping neck breaker to his target. It has good range,
but it's not TOO powerful. Use it to clear hordes of aliens on one
side.
- Earthquake Bomb: Grab, then Jump and press 2 - Obviously, this is his
best move! Dutch takes his enemy into the air and power bombs them hard
into the floor. The momentum is so tremendous, enemies can be hit on
the way up if you press 2 early AND on the way down. When he lets go,
Dutch is briefly invulnerable, so it's possible he can grab another
alien if it's close enough to grab. If you get lucky, you can repeat
this move about 3+ times and just slam the pudding out of the
opposition! This is a good chip move to use on bosses! Sheesh, this IS
a good move to use on bosses (with exceptions...see below)!

Combos
------
Punch and Smash: Attack Chain - 2, 2, 2, D, U + 2, 1 (4-10 Hits)
	- Translation: Start Dutch's attack chain. On the third blow, do
the Vertical Smash for 1-3 more hits. On the way down, press 1 to
fire at the target.
From Down to Up: With Enemy on the ground, DF + 3, 2 while dashing,
release DF, D, U + 2, 1 (6-11
Hits)
	- Translation: When there's an enemy on the ground, press DF and
dash. Schaefer will do something like a chop block. After the
first hit connects, start pressing 2 repeatedly and release DF so he
does his standard dash attack. After the last hit connects, do the
Vertical Smash quickly to connect for about 3 more hits. Shoot them
on the way down!
Pipe Juggle: With a pipe, hit the enemy against a wall. As they fall,
try to time your swing so you can hit them again. Sometimes, if you
hit an enemy with a pipe and there's no wall, you can hit them
again if you're fast enough by swinging the pipe again. This combo is
one unique to Dutch, since the other three throw the pipe when the
get one.
Earthquake Bomb Combo: There are two ways to go with this
1.) After the first Earthquake Bomb, grab the nearest enemy and
do it again, OR...
2.) Do a Vertical Smash after the initial bomb.
For option 1, it is possible to do this over and over and over
and...you get the idea...provided there are enough pidgeons...I
mean enemies near you.
Ground-to-Air Combo: When the enemy is on the ground AND near a wall,
shoot your gun at them. If you time it right you can bounce them
off of the wall and pop them into the air. While they're in the air,
you can pull off a Vertical Smash, and continue your firepower
barrage. This works wonders against the Mad Predator(s).

More of Dutch's moves coming soon!

Section IV
----------
General Strategies
- Dutch is able to go toe-to-toe with the standard enemies. His hitting
power is high, so let him take the lead, especially with big gangs of
foes. With some skill and luck, he'll grab someone and be able to slam
them.
- Be careful if you try to run away, Dutch moves slower than molasses.
Use that dash button often, then if you run into an enemy, you'll
briefly stun them, allowing you to set up for you next move.
- When it comes to pipes, let Dutch have them. If you let Linn or the
Predators get a pipe, they'll just throw it.
- Do the Vertical Smash when you have super shot. While at a safe
distance in the air, you can pick off anything at a constant rate of
fire.

Boss Strategies
1.) Chrysalis - Chrysalis is a pretty easy boss, and there's enough
food in the room if you need it. If he leaps at you, do a Cyber Lariat.
If he rolls at you, do a Vertical Smash or a multihit dash attack. When
he roars for help, grab him and Earthquake Bomb him. Just stay on him,
and he will have no chance.
2.) Razor Claws - This purple monster has you beat in speed, but you
have him beat in range, believe it or not. When Razor Claws very first
comes down from the ceiling, dash attack him and combo! Try to use your
gun as much as possible. Break the crates at the upper left corner of
the room and unload the Pulse Rifle into him. Also, make sure to pick
up the super shot and use it with your Vertical Smashes. When he sends
Warrriors down for assistance, Earthquake Bomb the Warriors into the
Claws. If you see him coming at you, and you have no place to go, do a
Cyber Lariat. It's better to lose 5% of your health than say 25%!
3.) Alien Queen Round 1 - This battle depends on what kind of a day
your having. Sometimes it goes well for me, and other times, it
doesn't. The Queen really can't move much, but she has a couple of
attacks that can reach you if you aren't careful in the acid spit and
second jaws. The top priority is to get to the other side and break the
crates. In one of the crates there should be a Pulse Rifle. Unload
that on her first and that will knock out a good 40% of her power. Now,
for the remainder of the battle, dash back and forth and hit her as you
meet her in the middle. If she grabs you, shake the stick and press the
buttons to get out. A Vertical Smash or two will work, sometimes, but
she may grab you there so be careful. If you're in doubt, use a Cyber
Lariat.
4.) Power Loader - This can be tricky, considering the Power Loader has
[I guess I can say it] super armor. You have to hit it with at least
two attack chains to knock it down, and it will get up fast and knock
you down! From the beginning, if you have a rifle or a smart gun (one
you picked up from an enemy soldier) unload that ammo into the Loader
first. After you run out, break the crates with your gun at the bottom
of the screen and knock it down with the grenades. At this time, it'll
only have maybe 40% damage left. The best strategy is to dash attack it
and do standard strikes from above. If it comes rushing at you with the
flame thrower, do a Cyber Lariat or you'll get burnt. Keep this up
until the cavalry arrives. Find the troops with pulse rifles and knock
it out of their hands. Make sure the area is clear, then fire away!
Also take note, when the Loader does a rushing drill charge, it's stuck
for a few seconds. Use those seconds to your advantage! One last
thing, the Power Loader CAN NOT be grabbed for slams and throws, so
don't try.
5.) Mad Predator(s) - Make sure to grab the super shot in the previous
area of Level 6 before going on to fight the Predator(s). You'll get
onto the elevator and the Predator(s) will appear. When their strength
meter(s) appear, unload your super shot into them. It seems to be the
best method of draining their power. [From this point forward, I will
only speak of a one-on-one scenario.] The thing to remember is to keep
moving, and DO NOT attempt an Earthquake Bomb unless 1.)you're coming
back after losing a life 2.)he's getting ready to fire his cannon or
3.)he's being a sitting duck by standing over you after knocking him
down. Slams and throws really don't do much to shake him up. As Dutch,
keep dashing and using the multi-hit dash combinations. Use the Down to
Up Combo when you can (dash attack, then Vertical Smash, fire gun,
repeat). It is critical here to pulse your fire so your gun doesn't
overheat, or the Predator will run under you and throw you on your way
down. If the Predator jumps onto the wall, knock him down with either a
well placed punch (I don't recommend this, but I've done it), a Vertical
Smash (the most recommended), or a Cyber Lariat. If he slides along the
railing to do his leaping slash, just move out of the way and either
dash attack him or fire your gun and combo. Just keep dashing and be
patient.
6.) Alien Queen Round 2 - Oh, this can be ugly. She may walk funny,
but she can move faster than you. If she gets too close, do a Cyber
Lariat and knock her away. If you picked up some weapons from the
soldiers before the final battle, fire those at her from a distance. It
seems low hitting dash attacks will knock her off balance if you hit her
enough. Keep doing the Down to Up combo for maximum effect. When you
do, make sure you pick up a super shot and unload everything you have
into her. When she calls for help (4 waves of help to be precise), slam
them into her to chip her strength meter. Her most damaging move is the
Impaler she executes from the ceiling. If you see her tail hanging from
the ceiling, move up and down and you may be able to avoid her.
Otherwise, just do a Cyber Lariat...which is safer, since it won't take
damage away from you. Just be patient and keep moving!

This is the section where you get to ask questions about how to do
something in the game. I will accept any question about anything, but
it would be better for the sake of the FAQ if the questions pertained to
Dutch and any conflicts I may be able to resolve for you. If there is
anything that's not on the subject, it will not be placed in here. See
the final section for my e-mail address so you can send questions.

Overall, I'd like to thank Capcom for making such an awesome game. I
guess it's just there nature. Any questions you contribute to this FAQ
will be greatly appreciated and I will answer them to the best of my
ability. If you have any suggestions for improvement, let me know. In
either scenario, you will be placed in this section. I must be going
now, Mai Shiranui promised me a massage! Am I lucky or what? ;)
