2. NUTRITION INFORMATION (Introduction)

Title: Shinseiki Evangelion: Ayanami Rei Ikusei Keikaku
(Neon Genesis Evangelion: Ayanami Rei Ikusei Keikaku)
     Genre: Ikusei simulation
Rating: PG-13 to AA-14 (Wotaku only, IMO)
     OS: Windows ME/2000J/98J/95J
     Maker: Gainax
     On Sale: 18 May 2001

2.1 1ST IMPRESSION

Disclaimer II: I'm NOT a fan of Ayanami Rei, Souryuu
Asuka Langley sama, Hayashibara Megumi, or Miyamura
"Miyamuu" Yuuko (former AV actress). In fact, my Top Three
EVA heroines are: 1. Maya oneesan, 2. Misato san, and 3.
     Ritsuko san.

Shinseiki Evangelion: Ayanami Rei Ikusei Keikaku for Windows
2000J/ME/98J/95J is an ikusei game in the same tradition as Princess Maker
(also by Gainax), Sotsugyou -Graduation-, and Tanjou -Debut- before it.
Ayanami Rei Ikusei Keikaku is expectedly full-voice. (^_^)
The game comes on two CD-ROMs and costs 318 MB to install.
During the game, the mouse pointer becomes the Spear of Longinus, not
an arrowhead.
The game has 18 slots for save games. The Album mode has 33 spaces for
ending CG.
The chara's portraits and event CG are static. Their eyes don't blink
and their mouths don't move.

     *SPOILER ALERT!*

The game begins about the time of the first TV episode, when Ayanami
(Rei II) is recovering from her injuries.
The protagonist is a member of NERV and has a teacher's qualification.
Ritsuko san recommends the protagonist to Gendou, and Gendou assigns the
protagonist as Ayanami's foster father. The length of the protagonist's
assignment is one year.
(When the protagonist first meets Ayanami, the player chooses his
family name and personal name. The player can of course input the
protagonist's name in JIS characters.
Again, I lazily input "Shinjou Hayato" in kanji, named after the daft
Sotsugyou Crossworld protagonist.)
Gendou also promotes the protagonist to San'i (equivalent to Second
Lieutenant or military grade O-1), and moves the protagonist's home into a
flat in Ayanami's mansion (apartment building).

In the main screen, in Ayanami's home, several icons show the current
date, the current day of the week, and the basic commands.
The game begins on 2 April, a Sunday. The basic commands are:
     - Status. The player checks the current values of Ayanami's 11
parameters, displayed as bar graphs and numbers.
     (More about the parameters later.)
     - Talk. The protagonist speaks with Ayanami.
     - System. The player can load game, save game, and quit game.
     - Town. Ayanami and the protagonist go to downtown Tokyo-3, where, for
example, they can buy items from the shops, or take a walk in the park.
The shops in Tokyo-3 have real names, such as Matsumoto Tsuyoshi (drug
store), Tokyu Hands (department store), Tsutaya (book store), and animate
(Wotaku goods).
(Gainax evidently secured corporate sponsorships for this game.)
     - Goods. The protagonist checks the items (including clothing) Ayanami
and he have.
     - Dress. The protagonist checks the clothing Ayanami has, and changes
the clothing she wears.
(FYI, their initial items are Ayanami's school uniform and 20,000 Yen.
At the animate, a China dress (^_^) costs 50,000 Yen, a bunny suit costs
30,000 Yen, and a Nekomimi (cat ears suit, as seen in the July 2001 issue of
Animedia) costs 30,000 Yen.)
     - Schedule. Before each week, the protagonist designates Ayanami's
tasks on each day of the coming week.
(More about the available tasks later.)
