First of all, the Credits:
                  --------

- First and foremost credit goes to Squaresoft, for creating among others Seiken
Densetsu 3, Secret Of Mana, Legend of Mana, Crono Trigger, Crono Cross, Secret
Of Evermore and last but not exactly least the legendary Final Fantasy series.
However, why they decided not to release one of the greatest RPG's in gaming
history outside of Japan is something I'll truly never understand.

- Second credit is for Mr. Nobuo Uematsu (www.nobuouematsu.com), the musical
genious behind the majority of Square's soundtracks. The man's music is truly
unique and magnificent and seems to have a living spirit of its own, something
everyone who played through FF VII discovered one way or another.
Don't ever retire, Mr. Uematsu. Final Fantasy can never be Final Fantasy without
  your musical work in it.

- Final credit MUST go to Neill Corlett, Lina`chan, Nuku-nuku and SoM2Freak.
These people actually translated this entire game in their free time, and made
their patch freely available for public use. Now one of the greatest RPG's ever
made is at long last available to every single fan of the gametype out there.
You've seriously earned my respect and admiration because of it guys. My thanks
to each one of you, I mean it.
Go visit their SD3 translation homepage at http://www4.ncsu.edu/~nscorlet/sd3/
and you also might want to check out http://translations.animangarpg.org/ to see
some of their other translation projects.

Secondly, some Legal Stuff:
               ------------

This text is not to be used in any commercial way, and may only be displayed at
wwww.gamefaqs.com with the purpose of sharing the contents of this guide with
all other SD3 players out there. If you are, however, so utterly impressed with
the magnificent work that I've done here and you would give or kill anything to
have just 3 lines of my text on your site, give me a mail and I'll think about it.

Lastly, info on the Versions:
                    ---------

Version 1.00 - The original version of the guide.

Version 1.01 - Fixed that damn typo in the URL to Mr. Uematsu's fan site and added
the other info about the Classes which I forgot to mention last
               time (damnit).

Version 1.02 - The version you're reading right now. Only had to make a few last
changes, so this version is very probably the final one.

About The Game:
---------------

Seiken Densetsu 3 (Also known as Secret Of Mana 2) is a prequel to the notorious
Secret Of Mana, a game with a story so sincere and deeply emotional it almost
turned me religious. (Well I was 15 when me and my best friend played through
its awesome plot together.) As a result of this, the events which happen in
Seiken Densetsu 3 take place exactly a thousand years before the birth of the
Mana Knight, and thus also a thousand years before the catastrophes of Secret
Of Mana are set into motion by Thanatos.

Both games were released on the SNES console back in the 1990'ies, and their
size, playability and image-quality were pretty amazing for the time. In fact,
they still pretty much are. For some unbelievable reason however, Squaresoft
never released Seiken Densetsu 3 outside of Japan, despite the amounts of Secret
Of Mana cartridges which were sold worldwide. It wasn't untill the determined
work of Neill Corlett, Lina`chan, Nuku-nuku and SoM2Freak to translate this
gigantic game that SD3 finally became available to the American, European and
South-East Asian gamers.

The differences between the two games can mainly be found in the quality of
both story and playability. Because of Seiken Densetsu 3 its character Class
system (the very one this guide is dedicated to), SD3 has one of the highest
levels in playability you'll have ever encountered in the RPG gametype, but its
storyline is a joke in comparison to that of Secret Of Mana. If you in other
words think that the story of Seiken Densetsu 3 was good, Secret Of Mana will
make your world crumble beneath your feet.

Some Basic Things about SD3 Gameplay:
-------------------------------------

Like in Secret of Mana but unlike the majority of the other Squaresoft games,
the fighting in SD3 is not turn-based as it is for example in the Final Fantasy
series. The battles of SD3 actually happen in real-time, meaning there is
no such thing as a Timebar or stationary character positions. You can freely
move around with your character, both when just out in the field or when in
combat with enemies. Whenever a character attacks an enemy however, it will
need to recover its strength for a while before it can attack again so keep
your distance from enemies in the meantime.

There are a total of 6 available characters in SD3, out of which you'll choose
3 to form a party. Once you've made your choice, you'll use these 3 characters
to play through the game. Think through before making your choice though,
cause once you've begun the journey there will be no way to change characters.
Also, depending on which characters you choose, there might be some major changes
in the plot as the story of SD3 has 3 possible outcomes. Think of it as 3 games
in one with the same heroes. Not only that, but each of the 6 heroes in the
game is completely diffirent from the others, and thus will learn and use very
diffirent skills and abilities to survive what's ahead. So like I said, think
through before making your choice. :-)

However, the most unique aspects of Seiken Densetsu 3 are definitly the Classes
and the Class Changing. Class Changing is such a vital part of both the plot
as the gameplay of SD3, that the rest of this guide will be about how it works
and also to give you detailed info on the Classes themselves. This way, you'll
be informed about what you can expect from each Class and what to watch out for,
so you can easier choose a Class you'll have loads of fun and ass-kicking with.

              _________________________________________

I. What is a Class?
--------------------

A Class is basically a trade or a job the character has dedicated himself/herself
to. Based on the nature of this job, the character will have a variety of
weapons, armor and skills that are typical to this Class. As the 6 characters of
SD3 unwillingly get involved in the conflicts that begin to consume their world
and thus each for their own reasons begin their journey, they'll all have what you
could call a "neutral" Class, meaning a Class that is in no way directly involved
in the cosmic struggle between Creation and Destruction, Death and Life.

However, as the plot unfolds, the 3 young heroes you have chosen will slowly but
surely evolve into the fiercest warriors on the face of the Earth, meaning every-
thing will eventually fall upon their burdened shoulders and upon their actions.

II. Class Changing!
-------------------

As your characters gain experience throughout the game, they'll eventually reach
a level when they have enough strength and skill to evolve into a higher Class.
Depending on the neutral Class with which the character started, the Classes from
which you can choose from there on will be very, very diffirent from each other.
Each is completely unique in its abilities, advantages and disadvantages.
You'll be able to have your characters undergo 2 Class Changes in the game, one
at level 18 and another at level 38.

An important thing to know is that from the moment a character has his/her first
Class Change, he/she will no longer be neutral. This means you'll have to choose
a Path or a Side from which the character will gain its powers.
Once you've chosen a Class, there will be no way to change back, and you'll be
forced to follow its Path further down as you eventually reach the second and
final Class Change. Because of this, the first Class Change is an important
one as it will determine the Path of the character for the rest of the game.

Here's how it works:

                    1st 2nd
                   Class Class
                   Change Change

                           Light-Light
                          /
                         /
                        /
                   Light
                  / \
                 / \
                / \
               / Light-Dark
              /
           Neutral
              \
               \ Dark-Light
                \ /
                 \ /
                  \ /
                   Dark
                        \
                         \
                          \
                           Dark-Dark

As you can see above, each character will have to make a choice between the Light
Side or the Dark Side at their first Class Change. However, that doesn't mean
you're making your characters choose between Good and Evil.
Under the power of Mana, the Light Side generally stands for Creation and Life,
which means you'll learn abilities and even pure magic to heal or better defend
yourself. If you go Dark, it means you're choosing for Destruction and Death,
which will learn you abilities and magic to weaken and/or attack your enemies
with.

There is no point in asking which Side is better, cause they both seem to have
their own advantages and disadvantages, and all final Classes are extremely power-
ful either way. The choice is all yours.

III. How It's Done
------------------

* The 1st Class Change:
Once a character reaches level 18, it means it has matured enough to evolve into
a higher Class and is thus ready to undergo its first Class Change. In order to
perform this Class Change, you'll need the powers of one of the world's Mana Stones.
Once you've reached level 18 travel to the nearest one you can find and simply
touch it to begin the Class Change.

Remember, once you've made your choice you will never be able to change back.
The deal is pretty obvious from here. If you go for the Light side, you won't be
able of choosing one of the 2 final Dark Classes, and if you take the Dark path
your character cannot turn into one of the 2 final Light Classes. The choice you
make at your first Class Change will determine the character its skills and
abilities for the rest of the game, so make sure you choose something you feel is
cool and you enjoy playing with! :-)

* The final Class Change:
The final Classes your characters will eventually evolve into are so immensly
powerful it will turn them into the strongest fighters in the world, it's that
simple. On the other hand, considering what they will be up against it will be
more than necessary, count on it.

What makes the final Class Change as powerful as it is are the following things:

- Extreme limits: after their final Class Change, your characters will be able
of raising their statistics to an inhuman level which very few
mortals have ever reached, making them incredibly powerful
                    warriors.
- Unique equipment: the final Class Change will take a character so deep into the
Light or Dark side it will become able of obtaining and using
                    the ultimate weaponry and armor.
- Divine abilities: characters who have reached their final Class will begin learning
near halfgod-like abilities, skills and magic.

So as you can see, the final Class Change is what it will eventually be all about.
Without it, you have little hope of standing against your true enemies at the end
of the game.

That's the good news. There is however, as you probably expected, a catch or two
in reaching the final Class Change. First of all, your characters won't be able
of performing their final Class Change till they have reached level 38(!), meaning
you will already be pretty late into the game by then. Because of this, you're
adviced to stock up on some extra levels every now and then.
Secondly, the final Classes are sealed. That's right, sealed. Following the story-
line, the Goddess sealed the final Classes to prevent anyone with crazy ideas of
obtaining their enormous power. In order to break the seal of the Goddess, you'll
need an extremely rare item which can prove that the character is both worthy and
ready of reaching the final Classes. For every final Class, you'll need a diffirent
one of these items as proof.

You can find these items by defeating certain enemies. If you get lucky, you'll
find something called a " ??? Seed " when you open the treasure chest. If you
plant these seeds in one of the magic boxes you can find in any Inn, you'll recieve
one of the items that can break the seal of the Goddess. All you need to do now
is reach level 38 and head over to the Holyland. You will be able of evolving into
one of the final Classes at the silver Goddess statue that stands in the middle of
the Holyland. However, this whole seed thing has one catch to it as well. :-)

The item you will recieve after planting the " ??? Seed " is random. That means
the item you will get can be for any of your 3 characters for any of their final
Classes. That pretty much leaves you with 2 options. Either you let fate decide
for you and you have your characters evolve into those final Classes you recieved
the items for, or you can go back defeating enemies to obtain more " ??? Seeds "
and keep it up till you recieve the item you need to get that specific Class which
you want to play with. As always with Class Changing, it's your choice.

The enemies from which you can get " ??? Seeds " are mostly the following:

- Lesser/Greater Demons
- Dragons (All types)
- Boulders/Power Boulders

By the way, one thing I've noticed is that the higher your level gets the more
easily you seem to recieve " ??? Seeds ".

-----------

Now, about the weaponry and armor of the final Classes. It's not exactly a bad
idea to go get those. A final Class can equip items which only that Class can
equip and use, items which pretty much are the ultimate weaponry and armor in the
world of Seiken Densetsu 3. The equiping of a character with its true weapon
and armory is thus one of the things you need to do if you want your final Classes
to reach their true and full potential.

In order to get this ultimate equipment, you'll need to do same thing you did to
get the " ??? Seeds ". By defeating certain enemies you'll sometimes recieve
something called a " Weapon/Armor Seed". By planting these seeds in a magic box
and with a little luck, you'll get the weapons and/or armor for your final Classes.

One important tip though - if you already found a " Weapon/Armor Seed " before
your characters reached their final Classes, DON'T plant those! If you plant that
seed while your characters are still in their first Class, you will recieve a weapon
or an armor for that first Class. So instead, save up your " Weapon/Armor Seeds "
till you've reached the final Class, and then plant them.

One last thing. Remember that the weapon or the armor you recieve from the seed
will be put among the equipment of the person who opened the magic box. If the item
you recieved can't be equipped on that person, open the menu screen and go exchange
the item between your characters till you find the one who can equip it.

The enemies from which you can get " Weapon/Armor Seeds " are mostly the following:

- Nightblades
- Wolf Devils
- Death Machines

IV. The Characters And Their Classes
-------------------------------------

Duran - Sword-wielding Knight of Forcena
-----

Duran is the swordsman hero of Seiken Densetsu 3.
Being a natural born swordfighter and a pretty strong guy, he hits hard.
Duran's wide horizontal slashes also have a great range, so you can easily keep
your distance from enemies at all times if you don't stop moving. Best of all,
these wide slashes enable you of hitting multiple enemies with one attack
meaning Duran can build up his tech gauge very fast if you time your attacks.
Duran doesn't have much for variety, but he's a powerful fighter with high
strength and vitality, and decent agility. This lucky dog also gets Angela at
the end of his scenario. :-)

If you go Light with him, Duran will become a Knight, capable of equiping shields.
These shields will double his evade rate(!), giving him great endurance against
even the very powerful enemies. He'll also learn Heal Light, always a good thing.
By the way, the majority of Duran's shields can be bought at the armor shop in
Forcena, but keep in mind that they aren't cheap things.

Taken towards the Dark Path, Duran will become a Gladiator, meaning he'll fully
benefit from his strength and gain an impressive attack power, much higher than
that of the Knight. He'll also learn elemental Saber Magic, which can be very
useful in the right sitation.
By the way, if you choose Dark for Duran, you'll need to raise his Spirit once
after he has learned his first two elemental Sabers in order to learn the last
two ones, don't forget this.

Duran's final Classes:

* Paladin * : The Paladin has decent attack power, a strong Heal Light which he
can also cast faster than any of Duran's other Light Classes, will eventually be
able to learn the mighty Saint Saber spell and is able to equip the Sacred Shield.
Result is that the Paladin is a fighter with an unbelievable endurance, while
Saint Saber will give him a great edge against the dark and undead enemies of the
late game. Excellent Class.

Proof item: " Paladin's Proof "
Equipment of a Paladin:

Brave Blade
Hero's Crown
Hero's Armor
WarKing's Crest
Sacred Shield

* Lord * : Duran will learn Heal Light multitarget and Tinkle Rain. This makes
him a great support character that doesn't go down easily, but his attack power
will become real low for a character that relies on physical strength, making
the equiping of Siegmund a necessity instead of an interesting option. The
Lord also is the only one of Duran's final Classes that doesn't have a full-
screen level 3 tech. However, if you have a character in your party with stat-
up spells (or stat-down spells for enemy defence) you can compensate for this
low attack power making the Lord a pretty reliable and useful Class.

Proof item: " Lord's Proof "
Equipment of a Lord:

Siegmund
Protection Helm
Guardian Armor
WarKing's Crest
Oath Shield

* Swordmaster * : The Swordmaster has great attack power, will learn to multi-
target all his elemental Sabers and, last but not least, he also gets both Moon
and Leaf Saber! A powerful warrior which quickly becomes the most versatile of
all of Duran's final Classes as well. Outstanding Class.

Proof item: " Master's Proof "
Equipment of a Swordmaster:

Ragnarok
Rising Moon Helm
Mastery Armor
Master's Armband

* Duelist * : If you have Duran become a Duelist, it won't take long before he
starts developing an ENORMOUS attackpower along with a very high vitality. Best
of all, his Eruption Sword technique is very probably the most powerful attack in
the game. As a Duelist Duran will also learn Dark Saber, but that will only be of
use against Mama and Papa Potos and the second Metal Hugger. Altough the Duelist
has no versatility, he is beyond the shadow of a doubt the most powerful fighting
Class there is. If he therefore gets combined with Classes that do have the
versatility he lacks, the Duelist easily becomes SD3 its mightiest warrior.

Angela - Magic-using Princess of Altena
------

This sexy thing is simply put the most powerful magic user in Seiken Densetsu 3,
but all of her magical abilities are of the offensive type. In other words, no
support or recovery magic. A great thing about Angela is that she is the only
character who will already learn a powerful collection of attack magic actually
before her first Class Change!
Angela has very high Intelligence and Spirit stats, meaning her MP amounts will
eventually hit the roof of 99, and cause of the Spirit stat she has great magic
resistance as well. Bad things are that physically she is very weak both in
attack as well as in defence, meaning she has low HP amounts and is thus pretty
vulnerable. If you want Angela's magical power in your team, it's probably best
to choose her as your main character so you can control her yourself.

If you go Light with her, Angela will turn into a Sorceress and learn every
single elemental spell in the book (Dark Force being the only exception). After
her 2nd Class Change these can ALL be multitargeted as well, with multitarget
Saint Beam as the mother of all elemental spells. Angela's Light Classes thus
all have a fantastic variety of great spells.

Taken towards the Dark Side she will become a Delvar, which will only learn a
fraction of the spells the Sorceress can learn. BUT, Angela's Dark Classes can
first of all cast spells much faster than her Light Classes can, and secondly the
spells will cause more damage. Also, altough the Sorceress is definitely a much
better Class than the Delvar, the Delvar is nevertheless seriously worth considering
as the Dark-Light and Dark-Dark Classes she can turn into at the second Class
Change are both extremely powerful.

Angela's final Classes:

* Grand Divina * : She'll get to multitarget all the spells she learned as a
Sorceress and also learns Double Spell, which is a powerful tripple elemental
attack. This Class has a great variety of very powerful elemental spells,
especially Saint Beam, but she'll need more time to cast spells than the Dark
Classes do. Versatile and pretty powerful Class.

Proof item: " Arcane Book "
Equipment of a Grand Divina:

Gavantein
Myein Crown
Myein Dress
Marble Ring

* Archmage * : The Archmage will learn to multitarget all the spells of the
Sorceress like the Divina, but she can cast these spells a bit faster. Downside
is that they will cause lesser damage. Great variety of elemental spells,
especially Saint Beam, just like with the Grand Divina. She'll also learn the
Rainbow spell, which is pretty good.

Proof item: " Book of Secrets "
Equipment of an Archmage:

Spirit Cane
Eremos Crown
Eremos Coat
Marble Ring

* Rune Master * : She'll begin with learning to multitarget Dark Force, which
may be powerful but not too useful. But after that, it's showtime. Angela
will learn Stun Wind (silences enemy meaning it can't use magic or techs), Cold
Blaze (freezes enemy making it a sitting duck), Stone Cloud (petrifies enemy
meaning instant kill), Blaze Wall and finally Deathspell. The first 4 are the
most powerful elemental spells there are, and Deathspell will instantly kill
anything it hits on the condition that the victim has a lower level than Angela
does. A Class with truly frightening power.

Proof item: " Book of Rune "
Equipment of a Rune Master:

Rune Staff
Rune Veil
Rune Coat
Magma Hairpin

* Magus * : The Magus can cast spells faster than any of Angela's other Classes,
and she'll also make them cause the most damage. This Class is raw magic power,
but has the least variety. She'll first learn the exact same spells the Sorceress,
Angela's first Light Class, did (almost humiliating), but after that THE most
powerful spell in the game will become available to you - Ancient. Ancient is
extremely powerful stuff and costs in comparison to its destructive powers a
very little amount of MP to cast. By the time Angela reaches 99 MP, she'll be
able of casting Ancient so many times after each other that nothing will be able
to survive this continious catastrophe. True power - just like someone in once
saw in Crono Trigger...

Kevin - Son of the BeastKing, Heir to the throne of the Beast Kingdom
-----

To my experience, Kevin is definitly one of the best characters in SD3.
Half-human, half-beastman, Kevin has the highest vitality stat of any of the
characters and thus quickly builds out high HP amounts. Not only that, his
strength is not far behind that of Duran AND he has a double-attack, meaning 2
hits per attack for some serious damage.
But the very best thing about him is that during the nighttime, his Beastman
blood will start boiling and he'll turn into a Werewolf! When Kevin becomes a
Werewolf, most of his stats are nearly doubled, making him even more powerful
and fearsome. Kevin also has 2 tech attacks per Class after his first Class
change, which is something no other character has. The main reason why I am
so fond of Kevin as a teammember is probably cause I can't really find any
downsides about him. Besides, he's the heir to the throne of a whole nation,
he looks cool, he's trained as a 1st class close combat fighter and he can
turn into a Werewolf at night... that's just about everything I wanted to be
when I was little! :-)

Taken towards the Light Path, Kevin will focuss more on his human side and
become a (Shaolin?) Monk. This means he will start to combine his fighting
skills with some very effective magic spells like Heal Light and Pressure
Point. Result is that the Monk is a skilled and balanced fighter, which makes
Kevin no longer dependant on his Werewolf abilities. BUT, this has one big
downside. If you take Light, Kevin will neglect his Beastman blood and his
Werewolf form won't evolve into anything more dangerous as it does with his
Dark Classes. As a Monk, he'll turn into an "ordinary" Werewolf at night
just like he did when he was still a Grappler.

If you let Kevin go Dark however, he will fully embrace the fierce passions of
his Beastman blood and turn into a Bashkar, a powerful fighter. This 1st Dark
Class won't let Kevin learn any magic at all, but his attack power will soon
rival even that of Duran's Gladiator Class. The other good thing is that Kevin's
Werewolf form will grow in power as well if you choose Dark, and will evolve
itself from an "ordinary" Werewolf into something called a Black Fang. Like I
said, powerful stuff. The downside about the Bashkar is that Kevin will begin
to rely on pure attack strength to see him through as he will have no support
spells whatsoever. Because of it, he will be much more dependant on his stronger
Werewolf abilities as a Black Fang and thus also on the night.

Kevin's final Classes:

* God Hand * : Very powerful Class. Highest attack power of Kevin's Light
Classes, Pressure Point, a strong Heal Light which he can cast faster than any
other of Kevin's Light Classes, a powerful fullscreen level 3 tech and above all
the great Aura Wave spell. Few things will stand in your way. At night, Kevin
will turn into the Golden Wolf, a sacred beast.

Proof item: " Gold Wolf Soul "
Equipment of a God Hand:

Spiral Claw
Ivory Band
Byakko Uniform
Tohsei Armband

* Warrior Monk * : An impressive Class, as Kevin will learn both Leaf Saber
and Heal Light multitarget. Result is that not only Kevin but the entire party
will get an incredible endurance. Downsides are that the Warrior Monk has the
lowest attack power of all of Kevin's final Classes, and he doesn't have a
fullscreen level 3 tech. At night, he'll turn into a Silver Wolf.

Proof item: " Silver Wolf Soul "
Equipment of a Warrior Monk:

Holy Glove
Darkshine Band
Genbu Suit
Toshei Armband

* Death Hand * : The Death Hand has serious attackpower, and will also learn
Energy Ball, which will make Kevin's attacks 3 times harder than usual. Downside
is that it will cancel itself after only a few hits. The Death Hand is a raw
fighting Class, as all its abilities are focussed on one single thing - attacking.
At night Kevin will turn into a Wolf Devil, whose Seiryuu Death Fist technique
is damn powerful. No variety whatsoever, but if you like to play on pure power
you'll love this Class.

* Dervish * : I sort of promised myself to remain objective while describing the
Classes like this, but when it comes to the Dervish I can only say one thing...
This Class is too powerful for the enemies in this game.
If Kevin becomes a Dervish, he'll turn into something called a " Bloody Wolf "
at night. And the Bloody Wolf, my friend, is the single most powerful thing that
comes under your control in Seiken Densetsu 3. The attackpower of the Bloody
Wolf is completely off the scales, and because of Kevin's double-attack very
probably even worse than that of the Duelist. But as if it wasn't worse enough,
this Class will also learn Moon Saber! The rate at which Moon Saber lets the
Bloody Wolf rasp HP from its unfortunate victim is based on the power of the attack -
the harder you hit, the more HP you drain (making Ashura Dream Fist a great tech
to use again). This combination of inhuman attackstrength with Kevin's double-
attack AND the ability to cast Moon Saber has one simple result - Once Kevin has
learned Moon Saber and the night begins to fall, the chances of survival for your
enemies will vanish beyond the horizon along with the last sunlight.

Carlie - Cleric and granddaughter of The Priest Of Light
------

As you probably figured out already by looking at her, Carlie isn't exactly the
attacking type. Half-human and half-elf, she's small and physically pretty weak.
She also doesn't learn any real attackmagic. So what is she good for?
Carlie is the best support character there is, and this for several reasons.
She starts out as a Cleric, and since she's the granddaughter of The Priest Of
Light, she'll be able of using Heal Light and Tinkle Rain even before her first
Class change. But, it's after her first Class Change that things are really
beginning to get interesting with this cute little thing. One of the best things
about Carlie is that no matter what Class she chooses, she will ALWAYS end up
with Heal Light multitarget, and that's really great! She also has excellent
magic resistance.

If you let her go Light, Carlie will become a Priestess capable of learning
elemental Saber magic in the same way as Duran's Dark Classes do. Heal Light
multitarget and all basic elemental Sabers in one character. Great support for
your other characters who will do the actual fighting.

If you have Carlie go to the Dark Side, she'll become an Enchantress. This
Class, just like any other Class, will get multitarget Heal Light and begin to
learn how to summon monsters. These summons aren't too powerful, but they're
fun. The real reason why you might want to have Carlie go Dark however is
because her Dark-Light and Dark-Dark Classes have a few real good spells which
can seriously weaken your opponents, softening them up for your other characters.

Carlie's final Classes:

* Bishop * : The only Class besides the Paladin himself who can learn the mighty
Saint Saber spell. She'll also learn to multitarget Tinkle Rain and she'll get
among others the Turn Undead spell, which can cause extreme damage to an undead
or "evil" enemy (and that includes Zable Fahr!). Turn Undead is useless when used
against anything that's alive though. The Bishop also learns Magic Shield, which
will reduce the damage enemy magic attacks inflict. Magnificent support Class.

Proof item: " Holy Water Vial "
Equipment of a Bishop:

Judgementes
Bishop's Ribbon
Bishop's Robe
Moon Flower

* Sage * : The Sage is able of multitargeting the Saber magic which she learned as
a Priestess, which can be a very interesting thing. She'll also learn Saint Beam,
always a powerful spell. Excellent choice if your other 2 characters are fighting
Classes.

Proof item: " Bottle of Salt "
Equipment of a Sage:

Giant's Flail
Sage's Ribbon
Sage's Robe
Moon Flower

* Necromancer * : This Class will learn to summon undead monsters such as Ghosts
and Ghouls which can do decent damage, and you'll also get the Dark Saber spell.
Dark Saber will only be useful against Papa and Mama Poto's and the second Metal
Hugger though. However, the Necromancer will also learn the mighty Black Curse,
and this spell is simply awesome. What it does is lower all 4 basic stats of an
enemy at the same time, and there is no way it can be countered or blocked. Just
for this single spell the Necromancer is a Class you definitly might want to go
for.

Proof item: " Bottle of Ashes "
Equipment of a Necromancer:

Skullhead Flail

* Evil Shaman * : The Evil Shaman gets the strongest summons of all Carlie's
Classes, something which the Gremlin and Great Demon summons will prove to you
nicely. But, best of all, she'll also learn Demon Breath and Anti-Magic, which
are both fantastic spells. Anti-Magic will cancel any magic effect an enemy might
have put on itself, like Magic Shield, stat-up spells or Saber magic, giving you
the ability to take away their advantages. Demon Breath is a great spell too, as
it not only heavily damages all enemies, but it will lower their stats as well.
Demon Breath has the great downside though that it will heal Dark enemies, and the
stat-down effect won't work on those enemies either because of it. Still, like
the Necromancer, the Evil Shaman is a very useful and powerful Class.

Hawk - Dagger-wielding thief of Navarre
----

Hawk is the most versatile character in Seiken Densetsu 3. A skilled knife-
fighter and a professional Thief, he has the highest agility stat of all
characters and is the second character along with Kevin to use a double-attack.
Result is that Hawk may not be a powerful fighter, but definitly a fierce one.
As his very name suggests, he's a cunning and skilled character - a survivor
against all odds and thus a very resourceful and sharp fellow whose strength
lies in skill and ability. If Hawk has one downside though, it's his vitality
which is dangerously low. He's very fast and has a great evade rate, but if he
gets surrounded or cornered he's in trouble cause he really can't take the beating.
The abilities he learns after his first Class Change will pretty much cover this
problem one way or another though.

If you go Light with Hawk, he will become a Ranger. The Ranger is actually the
Class out of which the better part of the Navarre army was formed long ago, when
the desert was still a lush green forest. By learning the ancient skills of his
people, Hawk will be able to set traps causing decent damage to distant enemies,
and he'll also learn magic which is directly from Nature itself. His Flying
Swallow Toss technique is pretty good too. Resourceful Class.
By the way, if you choose Light for Hawk you'll eventually need to raise his
Intelligence every now and then in order for him to learn his magical abilities,
don't forget this. The same goes for his final Light Classes.

If you take the Dark Path for Hawk, he will become a Ninja. As the great forest
in which the Navarre people lived turned into a dry desert over time, they had
no choice but to adapt to survive as they could no longer rely on nature as they
did for centuries. Out of the ancient skills of the Navarre Rangers, the art of
the Ninja was born. If you thus take Dark for Hawk, he will begin to learn the
Ninjitsu abilities of the Navarre warriors of today. This basically means Hawk
will learn Jitsu magic, which uses the 4 basic elements to lower enemy stats,
making them ripe for the kill. Effective Class.
By the way, the higher Hawk's agility the more powerful his Ninja abilities will
become, so if you take Dark for Hawk always put a priority on raising agility at
his level-ups. The same goes for his final Dark Classes.

Hawk's final Classes:

* Wanderer * : The power of Nature in all its glory. The Wanderer is a Class
which will learn ALL Dryad and Luna magic there is, with the exception of Moon
and Leaf Saber. Result is that this Class is INCREDIBLY powerful and versatile.
The spells Hawk will learn are both so powerful and effective it won't take long
before the Wanderer can handle anything that comes his way. I'm not going to
describe the spells however, cause the list is simply much too long. Just take
my word for it, they are all amazing. Best thing of all is, altough as a Wanderer
Hawk will become an intensive MP user, he will soon learn the Poison Bubble spell,
which will rasp large amounts of MP from its target. Result is that the Wanderer
has the ability to use his mighty spells as much as he sees fit, as Poison Bubble
will give him a near unlimited source of MP. Greatest downside about it all is,
as always, the attack and defence. The Wanderer has low attack power and can't
take much punishment (though creative use of his spells easily compensates both),
and he also doesn't have a fullscreen level 3 tech.

Proof item: " Good luck Die "
Equipment of a Wanderer:

Orihalcon
Wind Spirit Hat
Phantom Cuirass

* Rogue * : The Rogue will develop an entire new collection of skills in the same
way the Ranger originally did. The Rogue has a great variety of attack abilities
which he even manages to combine with elementals(!), but since all his skills are
based on attacking he doesn't have the enormous versatility the Wanderer has. The
Rogue has the highest attack power of all of Hawk's Light Classes, but has no full-
screen level 3 tech. Lesser versatility than the Wanderer, but a powerful and
very cunning fighting Class.

Proof item: " Bad Luck Die "
Equipment of a Rogue:

ManSlaughter
Silver Wolf Garea
Silver Wolf Pelt
Lucky Card

* Ninja Master *: The Ninja Master is exactly that - a master in the abilities
of the Ninja. This Class will learn Hawk to multitarget his Jitsu spells and
his Ninja Stars, which is an ability that's not exactly to be underestimated.
Hit strong enemies with Water Jitsu and wizards with Fire Jitsu, and you'll take
away the entire threat the enemy is supposed to be with one single spell. Now
cast Thunder Jitsu on all enemies to make their defence drop to nothing and slice
and dice 'em to shreds. The Ninja Master can also throw his Ninja Stars much
faster than the Ninja plus they will cause more damage, making them surprisingly
powerful weapons. Very, very useful Class, with not having a fullscreen level 3
tech being its only real disadvantage.

Proof item: " Bullseye Die "
Equipment of a Ninja Master:

Konguo Raken
Stealth Hood
Wind Demon Mail
Stealth Guard

* Nightblade * : This, people, is the proffesional. This Class will turn Hawk
into a Shadowwarrior who is utterly specialized in neutralizing and killing any
enemy with absolute impunity. The abilities of the Nightblade are incredibly
effective, versatile and almost cruel, plus he'll also retain his original Jitsu
abilities. Like the Wanderer, there's nothing this Class can't handle. The
Nightblade also has the strongest attack power of all of Hawk's final Classes,
and his level 3 tech - Split-Image Slice - is awesome. Downsides of the Nightblade?
He can't multitarget his Jitsu abilities and neither his more advanced skills like
Poison Breath and Blow Needles (Black Rain being the one exception), and not even
this Class can match the versatility of the Wanderer.

Lise - Rolante's Princess, Leader of the Amazon army
----

Lise is a great character, there's no denying that. Being an Amazoness and a
Lance expert, she really knows how to fight and has both good strength and
agility stats. Greatest downside about her is her vitality, though it's not
as worse as it is with Hawk. But besides being a decent fighter, Lise her true
greatness lies in the fact that she will eventually turn into an outstanding
support character, with magic spells that can really save your neck at times.

If you take Lise to the Light Side, she'll become a Valkyrie, a powerful
female warrior. Not only is the Valkyrie a great fighter, she'll also begin
learning spells which can actually boost a character its 4 basic stats! This
makes the Valkyrie a great addition to your team, as she will not only bust the
enemies up with her attackstrength, but she'll also compensate any weaknesses
your other teammembers might have with her spells.

If you let her walk the Dark Path however, she will become something called a
Rune Maiden. A nasty Class, cause the Rune Maiden too is a powerful fighter,
but like with the Valkyrie the most interesting thing are definitly her spells.
The Rune Maiden does the complete opposite the Valkyrie does - she learns
spells which can lower the stats of enemies. Just like the Valkyrie, a great
addition to your party.

Lise her final Classes:

* Vanadis * : The Vanadis has the highest attack power of all of Lise her Classes.
Best of all, her level 3 tech - Light Shot Spear - is fantastic as it will do
heavy damage to all enemies and it is quite a cool thing to see. She will learn
to summon Freya, but that really isn't a very useful summon. The Vanadis can
also cast her stat-up spells faster than any of the other Light Classes. Great
choice if Lise is your main character.

Proof item: " Briesingamen "
Equipment of a Vanadis:

True Lance

Goddess Armor
Draupnir

* Star Lancer * : The Star Lancer will learn to multitarget all her stat-up
spells, making you raise the abilities of your entire team in one single spell!
She'll also learn to summon Marduke, which mutes enemies as well as cause decent
damage to them. Only true downside is that she has no fullscreen level 3 tech.
Outstanding Class.

Proof item: " Morningstar Chain "
Equipment of a Star Lancer:

Stargazer
Stardust Helmet
Polaris Armor
Draupnir

* Dragon Master * : There are exactly 2 reasons why you want to have Lise become
a Dragon Master. Firstly, she will learn to summon Jormungand and secondly, she
can cast her stat-down spells faster than any of the other Dark Classes. Jormungand
is a fantastic summon, as it will not only do good damage to all enemies, but it
will also poison them all. Because of this, one single Jormungand summon will
greatly soften up your enemies, as they will not only get hit hard but they will
also keep losing HP at a fast pace because of the poison afterwards, giving you a
surprisingly good advantage in your fights. A Class with very little variety, but
if you like using summons Jormungand is definitly the one to go for.

Proof item: " Knightdragon Chain "
Equipment of a Dragon Master:

* Fenrir Knight * : An attack power which is only rivaled by the Vanadis, and she
can summon Lamian-Naga. This summon does heavy damage, but it won't cause any
status ailments like the others do. But what makes the Fenrir Knight as powerful
as she is is her ability to multitarget her stat-down spells. At some points even
better than the Ninja Master, as his stat-down spells are elemental based meaning
they won't work on an enemy who absorbs the element. The stat-down spells of the
Fenrir Knight will work always on all and everything, making these spells very
dreadful. Pretty fearsome Class.

V. Class Combinations
---------------------

Class combination means that you select Classes which are capable of covering
each other's weaknesses or which can make the most out of each other's strongest
abilities. The examples I will describe below are based on my own experiences.
By using these Class combinations I pretty much owned my enemies, so you might
want to give 'em a try!

Just remember, Seiken Densetsu 3 has a total of 42 Classes(!), so there are A LOT
of combinations. The ones below are just to give you an idea of what's possible.
It all comes down to being creative, so begin by taking those characters and Classes
which you think are the coolest and the best.

Some examples of Class combinations which really worked for me:

* The Lord and the Ninja Master: Hit all enemies with multitarget Thunder Jitsu
to lower their defence, and you'll perfectly compensate for the low attack
power of the Lord. Now the Lord too can cause damage as if he was one of the
Dark Classes, and his multitarget Heal Light will easily keep the physically
weaker Ninja Master alive. You won't even have to bother using Water or Fire
  Jitsus.

* The Duelist and the Bishop: Cast Saint Saber on the Duelist and see what
  happens. }:-)

* The Dervish: Well, since the Bloody Wolf will eat every single enemy in this
game for his breakfast, you can pretty much combine him with anyone for awesome
  results.

* The Swordmaster and the Star Lancer: Both multitarget strength-up and multi-
target elemental Sabers can be serious fun. :-)

* The Rune Master and the Warrior Monk: The magical powers of the Rune Master
are very, very powerful and useful, but they cost alot of MP and can't be multi-
targeted. Angela will also always remain vulnerable against strong enemies,
no matter what Class you give her. The Warrior Monk will solve both problems
easily. With his ability to cast Leaf Saber and Heal Light multitarget, both
Angela and Kevin will have unlimited HP and MP amounts, while the Warrior Monk
will also keep the enemies busy while Angela is casting her magic.

* Etc, etc, ... :-) Go get 'em!
