INSTALLATION:
-------------
Use an 'unzipper' that can handle long filenames (e.g. WINzip) and unzip
to an empty folder, remember to check the option to recreate sub directories.

You should now, if done correctly, have a folder named 'AIRCRAFT' and herein
a subfolder named S340DWI, containing all the soundfiles, config.files, plane
files asf. in the relevant sub directories/sub folders.

Copy the complete 'S340DWI' subfolder to your FS98 directory's folder named
'AIRCRAFT' so that the 'S340DWI' directory is now found there.

At last, having checked that the installation works, save space
and delete the temporary folder you created when you unzipped the file.

................

PANEL:
------
This plane is presented together with Eric Ernest's Saab340B Captain's panel.
This file is not included in this zip file but can be downloaded from
the Dove Wings site at:

          http://members.xoom.com/dovewings

Instructions on installing the panel can be found in the panel's zip file
which, as said before, can be downloaded in from the site mentioned above.

WARNING: Do not attempt to fly the plane without having the panel installed.
Doing so, may result in your FS crashing.

..............

For more information about Eric's panels, visit "Eric's Freeware Panels" web
site at: http://www.flightsim.com/efpanels

Operating:
----------

Taking off: Brakes on, full throttle, let go, pitch +5/+6 deg. flaps 1 notch
if any and she should lift off with full load hands off :o)

'Real landing lights' illuminating the runway are activated either by the re-
levant switch on panel or by keys <ctrl>+'L', please notice that they do NOT
come on automatically when gear is down.

Navigation lights, strobes asf. are all default-keys on your keyboard or on the
panel.

The plane is configured as a 'Jet' for your info. This means that one particular
feature, namely the 'condition lever'- altering the propellers angle/prop ad-
vance has had to be left out. On the other hand you have 'reverse thrust' by
pressing the key 'F2'.

Just for your info, a S340B does *NOT* have airbrakes.

And *DO* read the S340dwi.doc testreport by Henri Werij containing hints on
operating and handling.

Saab 340B
---------
The 340 began life as the SF340, a joint venture between Saab-Scania
and Fairchild, in the early 1980's with the first production models
going into service in 1984. In November that year Saab took over full
responsibility for the aircraft following Fairchilds decision to move
out of aircraft production, the SF340 designation remained for a time
but was eventually changed to 340A. The 340B offers more powerful
engines to improve the 'hot and high' performance, an increase in
the maximum takeoff weight and improved range, it was delivered in
September 1989.

For information on flying the Saab 340B see S340dwi.doc.
