Please respect the maximum aircraft type limit for each stand when flying online with VATSIM or IVAO.

Following aircraft types are NOT allowed to park on the contact stands on Main Terminal Building (MTB) or Satellite :

All the contact stands on the Main Terminal Building and Satellite are equiped with AGNIS/PAPA parking aid system.

IMPORTANT NOTE : The AGNIS/PAPA system works correctly ONLY WHEN VIEWED FROM WITHIN THE COCKPIT!
If you view from the outside (i.e. Spot view) the system will not provide correct information).

Azimuth Guidance for Nose-In Stands (AGNIS/PAPA) Description.

Athens International Airport is equipped with an aircraft visual aid docking system in the Main Terminal Building (MTB) and in the Satellite (SAT) aircraft parking stands. Taxiing aircraft in these parking stands will be guided through the docking system without the assistance of a marshaller.

Azimuth Guidance Nose-In Stand (AGNIS)

Guides the Pilot to center the aircraft along the parking line into the aircraft stand.
Consists of a box with two slits, red and green lighting. The slits show green when the approach along the yellow lead-in line is correct, red when the approach is incorrect.

The aircraft shall approach the aircraft parking stand along the yellow Lead-in Line, so that both slits in the guidance element / AGNIS show green.  A photo description as seen from the pilot point of view on an aircraft is shown below.

The aircraft is correctly aligned with the parking stand

Aircraft RIGHT of centerline, must turn LEFT (TOWARDS GREEN)

Aircraft LEFT of the centerline, must turn RIGHT (TOWARDS GREEN)

Paralax Parking Aid (PAPA)

Guides the Pilot to stop and park the aircraft on the appropriate designed mark in the stand according to the used aircraft type.
Consists of a black painted board with white vertical reference marks and a tubular light in front of it.
As soon as the tubular light is lined-up with the appropriate vertical reference mark, the aircraft has reached the correct stopping position.
A diagram description as seen from the pilot point of view on an aircraft is shown below.
