         United States of America.

This IGM was created by my friend Robert Fogt. It was
developed and supported by my friend Lloyd Hannesson for
a few years. Lloyd has turned the program back over to me
to handle its development and support.

Platforms supported:
	  DOS LORD. All versions are supported.
	  LORD/32. v4.07 beta and v4.08 beta are supported.

Since I do not do OS/2 or Linux programming, no support is
available for usage of this utility with LORD for OS/2 or
with LORD for Linux. Neither one supports IGMs currently,
as of late August 2008, (that I know of,) so that's a moot point.
=================================================================

Important Notice to all users:  {04/19/2008}
------------------------------------------------

The *ONLY* way LordMenu will be able to determine how many
IGMs are actually installed in your LORD game is for *YOU*
to do the following in your 3RDPARTY.DAT file.

If an IGM's Command Line entry does not include an ".EXE",
please add one. Using Shauna, Princess of Sorcery as an
example, change it from "<igm path>\SHAUNA *" to
"<igm path>\SHAUNA.EXE *".

If LordMenu can accurately count the Installed igms, I can
recode it so that it automatically inserts some blank lines
at the end of each screen's section of IGMs, so the end
result looks more normal when seen in LORD.

See the Lordmenu.pas file's COUNT_IGMs procedure to see which
IGMs I have coded the program to recognize, which are known
to use unorthodox coding. The majority of igms should either
use an "<igm path>/progname.EXE *" or "<igm path>/progname.EXE
/N*" format, and LordMenu v1.50 will process those by
default correctly, I think.   Donald
==============================================================

04/19/08: LordMenu now uses two additional work files. They
are LM2COUNT.DAT which stores the IGM command lines that were
detected by the program; and LM2-SKIP.DAT, which stores the
lines from 3RDPARTY.DAT which were skipped/bypassed by LordMenu
when it determines the # of igms installed in the LORD game.

End-users can delete these two work files at any time. The only
PERMANENT data files used by LordMenu is its LORDMENU.DAT
configuration file, and the 3RDALT.TXT file that it creates.

Do NOT delete the 3RDALT.TXT file. It is used by LORD to
display the two-column IGMs Listing in the "Other Places" event.
==========================================================

I released the source code (Lordmenu.pas) used by this program
with LrdMnu14.zip, back in July 2007. It remains my copyrighted
property but is available for others to use in making an OS/2
and/or Linux LORD specific version of LordMenu for those platforms.
Anyone interested in doing that can contact me to work out
the details. (No one has ever done that however since July 2007.
04/18/08 note)

--------------------------------- Added 08/28/2008:
The current source code file (lordmenu.pas) is also included
inside LRDMNU15.ZIP. If you want to see/use the Chasware.pas
library unit that it uses, download this archive from my
web-site:

http://camelot.legendarydragons.com/IGM-Code/lpe-code.zip
The archive is the primary source code for Chasware Lpedit.

Permission is granted automatically for usage of the Chasware
Lpedit program code by myself and by Charlie Wardick. If you
want to use it for your own needs, please let me know what you
are interested in writing. I might be able to help with your
programming project.   End 08/28/08 notes.
------------------------------------------------------------

The LordLock.pas unit, which LordMenu uses, is a part of the
DDIGM/DDPLUS toolkits, which does not belong to me. It will
*NOT* work with any 32-bit compiler. The functions used by
LordMenu from it will have to be replaced by anyone who makes
OS/2, LORD/32, or Linux specific versions at a later date.

I have personally used LordMenu v1.40 with LORD for Windows
and it works properly on a Windows XP Home computer system,
and it is confirmed to work without problems in my LORD/32
v4.08 beta and DOS LORD v4.08 beta game.

The ChasWare Code Library is the copyrighted property of Charlie
Wardick. He gave permission years ago for others to use it in
making their own LORD igms/utilities, or other BBS door game programs.

If you want copies of the TPU unit files used by Chasware.pas
and Chasattr.pas, send me an email. Both chasware.pas and chasattr.pas
are included in the program's LM2-CODE.ZIP source code archive.

Its backed up periodically on my Castle Camelot web-site in my
IGM-Code subdirectory. You may download the file to see how the
utility works. http://camelot.legendarydragons.com/IGM-Code/lm2-code.zip

Do not create/release your own versions of LordMenu without my
express/written permission, obtained either by email message or
by postal mail.  Donald.
============================================================

Testing Notes:
--------------
LordMenu v1.50 has been tested with DOS LORD v4.08 Beta's
late September 2006 compilation, using a 3RDPARTY.DAT file with
47 igms installed. It accurately identified all 47 igms. Similar
test with 80 igms installed also was similary successful.

Tested LordMenu with LORD/32 v4.08 beta (late Sept. 2006 compilation),
with 40 igms installed, and it accurately identifed all 40 igms.

There are NO known igms in existence for LORD for OS/2 or for
LORD for Linux at the current time. However, if and when there
are, LordMenu should work with them as well. Donald 04/25/2008.

1.0  DISCLAIMER:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

This is a BBS game written as a hobby. The only warranty given is
that the program will take up a small amount of disk space on your
computer's hard drive, and will run under all versions of Legend of
the Red Dragon that support DOS LORD IGMs; and it will run
under LORD for Windows (LORD/32).

Seeing as how there are NO igms for use with LORD for OS/2 or
LORD for Linux, zero support is offered for use of LordMenu
with either of those 32-bit LORD games.
=================================================================

NO OTHER WARRANTY IS HEREBY EXPRESSED, IMPLIED, OR SUGGESTED.
USE OF THIS PROGRAM IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

The LordMenu utility is a *FREEWARE* Utility for LEGEND OF
THE RED DRAGON (DOS LORD), which also works with LORD/32
for Windows (LORD/32).

All copyright protection for LORDMENU.EXE is fully applicable

This utility has been tested by various people with various
versions of LORD, and no one has indicated that they could
find any problems with how LordMenu operates. Primary
support is for DOS LORD (all versions) and for LORD/32.

Created to deal with problems the program has, according to the
BBS sysop Jason Hud, when the end-user has more than 40 igms installed
in their LORD 3rdparty.dat file. This new version will work on
dealing with that specific situation. Donald 04/18/2008.

INTRODUCTION:
==================================================
-> What is this program?

Well Hmmm... Good question <G>. LordMenu is a program that
will help you display more then 24 IGMs in your Other Places
menu, on a single screen. This program will arrange your IGMs
into 2 columns for easier viewing. The only downfall is that
you'll have to run Lordmenu *EVERY* time you install a new IGM;
or that you uninstall an IGM; or if you re-arrange the order of
entries inside the 3RDPARTY.DAT (such as alphabetizing the
installed igms list or version number updates, for example). It
uses LORD's own 3RDALT.TXT feature to display the IGM list in a
two-column menu.

Effective usage of this program limits you to having somewhere
around 44 igms installed. That's because you only have 24 lines
to work with for a menu screen, and you have to plan for the
IGM command line that LORD uses, and the program's Title line.

Note that even with LordMenu in use, if your LORD game has over
44 igms installed, the Other Places menu will scroll the top menu
entry lines off the screen until it reaches the end of the IGMs
Listing, and it displays the LORD command line for executing them.

Program Files:
==================================================
Files included in LM2-Work.zip and in LRDMNU15.zip.

LORDMENU.EXE : The LordMenu Executable.
LORDMENU.TXT : This documentation file.
LORDMENU.PAS : The program's Pascal source code file.
FILE_ID.DIZ : The Diz file. Used by BBS's.
LORDMENU.DIZ : Copy of the File_id.diz file.

CCL-APPS.TXT : Castle Camelot Lord Apps file.
CCL-PROJ.TXT : Castle Camelot Projects file.
=============================================

Files created by LordMenu 1.42 Beta:

LORDMENU.DAT : Configuration Data file. Tells program where
					LORD is installed.  *REQUIRED*

LMTEST.TXT - RIP Graphics menu for LORD's Other Places.
3RDALT.TXT - ANSI menu for LORD's Other Places.

Temp Data files:  {v1.41+}
-------------------------------
LM2COUNT.DAT - Data file lists the detected Installed IGMs.
LM2-SKIP.DAT - Data file lists skipped/bypassed lines from
					the 3RDPARTY.DAT that were not recognized as
					valid IGM Command Lines.
============================================================

Simple Set-Up

Setting up LordMenu couldn't be easier. Unzip LM2-WORK.ZIP
into any directory that you choose. Change to that directory,
and run LORDMENU.EXE.

When it first runs, it will ask you where your LORD game
is installed. It only accepts a path as valid if it finds
the LORD.EXE program file in that directory. If there is
no 3RDPARTY.DAT file found in the directory, the program
will show an error message and immediately terminate.

The simplest way to use LORDMENU.EXE is to keep it in the main
LORD directory, but it will work OK from a LORD sub-directory,
as of versions 1.30 and 1.40.

There are six usable command codes in LORDMENU, as follows:

1) LORD Path. Allows user to verify that the path to the
	 LORD directory is correct. If it is not correct, the
	 user can correct it.

2) Create menu with RIP Support. Use only if you run LORD
	 in RIP Graphics Mode. If the data file already exists,
	 the program simply updates it.

3) Create menu without RIP Support. This is for those who
	 play LORD in ASCII mode. It either creates or update the
	 3RDALT.TXT file, when this option is used.

4) Uninstall LordMenu. Runs the uninstall process.

	 All it does is delete the 3RDALT.TXT file if it exists.
	 User can manually delete all of the LORDMENU.* files
	 if he/she plans to not use the program any longer.

5) View program info screen. Shows a screen listing info
	 about the program, and how to contact me for support.

Q) Quit command. Causes LORDMENU to terminate operation,
	 and you are returned to the DOS Command line prompt.
============================================================

04/18/08: For debug purposes, the program will show the number
of lines your 3rdparty.dat file contains for a short time,
while it is processing the file. I'll use that debug info
to help determine the actual number of igms that are installed
in the LORD data file.
========================================================

Registration Info:

This utility has always been Freeware. When Robert Fogt
turned it over to me in 2002, to find a new programmer to
support his program, I promised him that LordMenu would always
be Free. Both Lloyd Hannesson and myself have kept that
promise since then.

Of course, if you really want to show your appreciation for
this useful program, you can always send me some pretty
pictures of cats and/or waterfalls via my email address.
I dearly love to collect cat and waterfall pictures <G>.

If you are a LORD program author, then it would be nice if
you would give me a free registration for one of your
programs. For which I would be very thankful. Donald.

Questions and Answers for typical problems: Q and A
-----------------------------------------------------

Q: I installed a new IGM but it isn't listed in my Lord Game's
	2-column Other Places menu! Where is the igm's listing?

Q: I chose entry 12 to run Barak's House and LORD ran the IGM
	The Changeling (entry 14) instead. What happened?

A: Any change to 3RDPARTY.DAT has to be matched by similar
	update of LordMenu's files. LORD uses the 3RDALT.TXT in
	ANSI graphics mode to display the listing of installed IGMs.
	However, it still uses 3RDPARTY.DAT to actually execute them.
	So if 3RDALT.TXT shows Barak's House as entry #12, but the
	3RDPARTY.DAT has The Changeling as the 12th igm in the file,
	that is what LORD will actually execute.

	Any change to 3RDPARTY.DAT of this type must be accompanied
	by an update of LordMenu's files afterwards:

	1. Version number changes to one or more igm entries.
	2. Installation of one or more new igms.
	3. Un-installation of one or more igms.
	4. Moving IGM command line entries around inside the file.

Q: I uninstalled an IGM, but it still shows up in the ANSI
	graphics menu or in the RIP graphics menu when LORD displays
	the Other Places menu.

A: Until you update LORDMENU's data files, references to uninstalled
	igms will remain in the ANSI and/or RIP graphics files. You have
	to manually update LordMenu's data files. There is no way to
	automate LordMenu's usage via batch files, in case you are
	curious, that I am aware of. Until you run LordMenu, after you
	do edits to the 3RDPARTY.DAT file, the menu screen files will
	contain the old/invalid information.
